Tamako Market episode 10

Three episodes today weeee! Surely I will be caught up soon. XD Maybe blogging 6.5 shows in a season was a bit much. I say .5 because I got so behind on one show it will have to be caught up on...after everything else is done. XD The sweet week between seasons. XO But this season is almost done. Where does the time fly? Why soon it will be Christmas ornament shopping in July time!

POOR DERA! The truth...so ugly.
The last post for the night will be Tamako Market episode 10. Spoilers for Dera dancing the dance of his people.

So shocked Tamako suggested this.
Episode Summary: Tamako and her baton club are ready for the school festival that is coming up. Midori is nervous going up and picking a time slot. She ends up getting the “dream” spot as Mochizou's club gets a super early time. As the president of the club Midori takes control of the planning. There are two younger twin members and the random teacher in charge of the club shows up too. Kanna keeps saying something about fire batons and Tamako has dreams of mochi. Midori says that she is in charge and will think of the music and choreography. Everyone else promises to be helpful in other ways. But when Midori arrives home not one helpful though comes to her head. She has tons of books on the matter but can't for the life of her plan a choreography. Back in the market Tamako and Mochizou talk over their cup on a string. Mochizou is trying to get over a cold so he can film the last scene to their ninja movie and Tamako says that Midori is busy planning the best routine ever. The next day Midori pretty much lies about having the routine done. Everyone had come up with costume ideas but they end up going with Midori's as she did that instead of focusing on the routine. Everyone cheers at the accomplishment. Tamako talks about the festival and it gets Choi excited. It turns out that Choi is a boss when it comes to sewing. It helps her to calm and see her visions better. Yay for helping.

Who the hell are you?!
At her home Midori is slowing losing her mind. She has no idea what to do and it slowly starts to affect her health. All the other characters in the show start to notice that Midori is looking ill, talking to herself, and starting to not make sense. Eventually she works herself up into a fever and has to stay home from school. Shiori who poops has told Tamako about Midori talking to herself and they along with Kanna go over to see Midori. Midori tries to hid her mess but she is found out. She confesses she has no idea what to do for the festival and starts crying without realizing it. All the girls and Dera are shocked and help calm her down and dry her tears. Dera is like dude I know how to dance, let me show you the dance of my people. Everyone finds this dance stupid which cheers up the mood in the room. Everyone says they will help Midori because that is what friends are for. So there is a happy montage of everyone working together and planning out the routine and working on the festival. The day finally comes and we don't get to see Mochizou's film at all. We see the girls in all their get ups dancing around with all the other characters watching. Afterwords Midori thanks everyone for their hard work in her own way when Choi bows. She has been hinting about this all episode but now she confirms it. She says that Tamako is her Prince's bride. Tamako is like um what and THE END?!

A cellphone with a large plushie strap. Oh I love you Japan.
What a nice slice of life little show that is straight forward and has nothing to do with time travel. Unless there is time travel. There is a talking bird that has a projector for a face but that I can overlook. No more time travel/parallel universe stuff for a while or my head will explode.

Yay for festivals!
School festival time weeee! I always think how cute these episodes are and how lucky high school kids are in Japan. Of course I could be cynical and think wow they are really training kids to become equal gears in their society and they are able to wrap it up in fun. The politics behind getting the best booth and time and working together with people who have different ideas than you. And it is work! Like a lot of work. But fun work. Why am I jealous again? I don't think I was even in a club in high school. I am so unsocial.
 photo tamakomarketepisode106_zps2982dbe6.jpg
I got this dude....all you dudes.
I think that Midori should have asked the girls for help from the beginning. Because why she is the president or whatever of the club doesn't mean she is the dictator. This is a festival and they are supposed to be working together! I mean I guess she should have final say but why plan something out if in the end not all the girls are capable of it? She shouldn't be I am captain I am doing it all. Don't you know what kind of anime you are in?

Too much pressure!
I was enjoying Midori freaking out...until she got sick. Then it got sad. Like okay it is just a school festival. Life will go on. I know when you are in high school all high school things are the end of the world and the most important thing ever. But it will be okay. She was being so stubborn about not asking for help and she got sick over it. X____X How can I joke about that? But really just watch some videos and ask for some help. I mean I don't think I could make a routine either because I am untalented in that department but if you work together I am sure it will go smoother.

Praying to a giant fish is a sign you are in over your head.
But maybe Midori had some man pride going on in this situation. Like no I said I was going to do this so I will. Kanna might be joking about over taking Midori as president or captain but maybe there was a vote and it wasn't unanimous. That Midori thinks she has something to prove when in reality everyone is friends and Kanna might just be joking. But now there are underclassmen involved and Midori thinks she needs to step up when in reality asking for help would have made more sense.

Care about me please!!!!
I hope that Tamako went to Mochizou's film! I don't care how early it was in the morning you go. He does everything for her and even if she doesn't see him in a romantic way she needs to show him some attention. They are friends you know. I guess she did ask how his cold was....and then was like make sure you film my performance!!! You better have seen his. This poor kid is always getting the short end of the stick.
 photo tamakomarketepisode1010_zps20885a70.jpg
Are you....smelling Tamako?
I like that Choi was helping the girls instead of sitting around watching the Japanese version of Springer. Even if she was. What happened to her illegally attending school? Guess that panned out as well as Dera's diet. I like how she came to town to get Dera into shape about getting the bride situation down but then she is like MEH I am going to turn this into a harem anime and crash forever. Free food and lodge for all!
 photo tamakomarketepisode1013_zpsd0d0b6e6.jpg
Gurl needs to mind her business.
While everyone correct to worry about Midori in the end.....some of them were being a bit dramatic. I know you are trying to belong Shiori but telling on Midori about the bathroom thing was a bit off. Tamako could sense Midori was wrong on the phone but the bathroom thing could have been anything. Mind ya business. Grandparents can never really mind their business but instead of trying to find out what is wrong and help everyone was just gossiping. Wasn't the problem obvious?
 photo tamakomarketepisode1014_zps3786b6a5.jpg
X___X Well that just got real.
I think the break down of Midori was done in such a way that it was realistic. Like Midori stressed herself out so much she didn't realize she was crying. Tamako has such faith in Midori she didn't think the girl was capable of tears. Kanna and Shiori were like is this real life please have a tissue. And Dera...well Dera just was in shock that Shiori poops. I am too folks.
 photo tamakomarketepisode1016_zps5e4d1c54.jpg
The twins look like scary clowns. :(
After all the tears were dried and laughter took place over Dera's crazy dance it was time to put the feel good music and get this party started. See everything works better when you did together. Get those twins involved....and that random teacher who showed up out of nowhere. Thanks teacher!!! Maybe this was a lesson for Midori. To ask for help. If you do everything will become awesome and fun. The performance was pretty cute too. Good job girls.
 photo tamakomarketepisode10_zpsf53586df.jpg
Dera is about to go Mulan bowing on us. XD
The episode ends with Midori pretending like it was all her idea. Nah I guess she just has a hard time expressing herself. But the episode did end with Choi doing the MOG moment. It was touched upon very briefly when Choi first arrived on the scene, that Tamako I guess smelled different? But now there is a mole involved and TADA Tamako is the Prince's bride by some rules set up in their culture. Choi seems okay with this even though it is obvious she wants to be the bride. I am sure it will end up being that way because Tamako is like UM what you talking about crazy? Dera has been there for almost a year and the first person he saw is the bride. How amazing. Time to wrap this up o slice of life with a talking bird anime.

Hello @Christina

Off topic question:

Have you already decided what shows you will be watching for spring? Already several shows have ended on your watch list and soon others as well.

Here's a link for the spring 2013 line-up:

Hello @Christina

First anonymous here again.

Forget the first link I gave--too much going on screen.

Try this one:

Much more clearer.

That's all.

Hello @Christina

First anonymous here again.

About the spring 2013 list:

I've been looking through the list and I think the show Arata Kangatari might be interesting. It's more like a fantasy show like Fate/Stay Night or Fate/Zero. I think it's a promising show and I would love to hear your thoughts on it. It starts in April.

I just hope it's written well with interesting characters not a complete failure.

That's all.

Anonymous- Thank you for all your hard work! I know, what a slacker I have been that I haven't taken a look at those lists yet. Several things have been suggested to me and a few have been mentioned more than once. XD I love that people are thinking about my tastes. It really touches me that people know so much about me despite all my short comings. I will have to get on this right away, April is...tomorrow. Thank you so much!
