Aika just died that's all. Don't let it get you down.
Episode Summary: Evangeline and her important self are riding around with Takumi. He has just gotten word that everyone has agreed that the Genesis Stump will be protected. The world has spoken and they choose to protect this tree. Takumi is supposed to head up stopping and finding people against Genesis AKA the Exodus Mage. No bueno right? They talk about how they have to wait for Hakaze's answer as she has arrived back in town recently. She and Samon have gone to visit Aika's grave. Hakaze buried Aika's letters there since traveling back in time requires bones and nakedness. She has told Samon what Aika had send and Samon is a bit shocked that Aika was the mage but no faces follow. They wonder if Yoshino and Mahiro will turn on Hakaze because of the news. Hakaze sucks it up and tells Mahiro and Yoshino all that she knows and they sit there nodding their heads and understanding. Mahiro decides this all makes magical sense and Yoshino talks about how awful Aika's personality is despite the fact she is trying to save the world. Hakaze questions why the boys don't blame her for causing this John Conner situation. Mahiro points out it was his desire for revenge that ultimately sent Hakaze back in time and that if Aika hadn't been dating Yoshino she might have chosen a different path. So either everyone is at fault or no one is. Samon and Evangeline the important are quietly shocked at this reactions. Megumu decides that everything sucks and proceeds to beat the shit out of Yoshino and Mahiro. He says the situation sucks and no one should accept this logic and how can a happy ending even occur. Everyone is in shock and Mahiro says that they need to destroy the tree or no one can move forward.

This is how boys handle problems. I see indeed.
Much to Megumu's shock Mahiro smiles and says that Megumu just showed he is badass and is able to destroy the tree. Yoshino agrees that this needs to happen so they can read Aika's final messages to them. He then requests to be healed as he spews out blood. After Yoshino is done dying everyone who is important comes together to formulate a plan. All the countries have sent what is left of their fleets out to protect the stump. They are armed and ready to attack, especially Megumu the mage. There are three boats very close to the stump studying it and what not. They have to destroy the tree or civilization will be reset in a few years. Yet if they do an all out battle people will die and war will break out, especially since the Genesis tree promises protection or what people think is protection. But this will be hard to accomplish as Megumu is the only one whose magic will work against the Genesis tree and it will fight back. And if those ships don't move they will get trapped in the crossfire. So how can this happen. Megumu starts to panic and Mahiro says that since Aika got them into this mess he will take on the burden of whatever happens in his hands. Mahiro then proceeds to explain his plan which may result in causalities but war and sad things will always happen. The plan is not explained but talked about later with Evangeline the amazing and Samon. Mainly how two regular high school boys got dragged into this craziness. Mahiro and Yoshino are drinking coffee together, talking about how Aika left them in this mess. Mahiro says family deals with family issues and Yoshino feels responsibility because he was the boyfriend. Yet they both muse that Aika was not the type to ever ask for help. A flashback with all three teenagers meeting for the first time takes place. It was originally supposed to show the parents but they were either late or unable to come. Aika seems cold at first but Mahiro is like look we are family lets be informal. That leads to Aika calling the boys by their first names and finding them super amusing. And amusing people are fun to have around. THE END!

Well given the fact he didn't give a damn about....well anything but revenge. Surprising. XD
So much talking. TALKING TALKING! And who is the violent one? Oh that would be Megumu, the kid crying in the corner. Talk about a crazy episode.
 photo tempestepisode225_zps554431ae.jpg
The general public might need to know this truth....
I am still a bit....off about everyone embracing the killer tree. I mean...I think I have said that ever since the trees came and took over. I can get behind the idea of allowing a tree to be in charge in exchange for peace. But when that “peace” came at the price of 2 billion people I am not seeing why people aren't more upset. Yes people die all the time and yes maybe they just paid in advanced. But in the back of my mind I would be like um well what is to say that the tree won't turn on the rest of us later on? Maybe everyone is just insane from so much loss and needed to cling to something. I just wouldn't cling to the thing that caused all that loss.
 photo tempestepisode223_zps11d59a08.jpg
Oh well...at least Megumu got to wear something cool.
So that means all the work that Takumi put into making this awesome super hero outfit was for naught. I am not sure how effective Megumu was being even before the stump showed up. I mean a lot of people watched that show that he put on and perhaps he got people thinking. But since the general public doesn't know the truth behind the trees it was going to be hard to get Megumu to be the hero. Like oh look he is here to save us from one tree so another tree will be in charge.....
 photo tempestepisode224_zps9de805aa.jpg
That would be horrible. Almost as horrible as leaving you to die on an island.
I like how when Hakaze and Samon talk there is no tension. When there should have been the most tension of all, even more than between Yoshino and Mahiro. Samon got Hakaze killed. There is no telling if Samon was going to bring her back if his plans worked. So....yeah it is weird how they are just walking around and acting like this is water under the bridge. Or maybe I should stop complaining as I want people to focus on the bigger picture that is the world and not their petty issues. So yes go pick up Aika's letters and worry if the boys are going to blame Hakaze. Stay focused. XD
 photo tempestepisode226_zps0b6df712.jpg
Maybe that is his broken face?
I am going to have to side with Megumu even if he did so in a violent manner. Yoshino and Mahiro were like....oh so that is the truth. Everyone was looking at them as if they have lost their minds. Because really they have. Especially Mahiro. Wasn't everyone worried what he would do as revenge was his prime motive for the entire series? If there was no one to take revenge upon wouldn't that mean everything he did (to him) would have been for nothing? I mean maybe Mahiro was falling apart and turning to shit on the inside, like he has been the entire show but dang. I would have at least laugh out of insanity at the fact that Aika killed herself.
 photo tempestepisode227_zpsb810c3ed.jpg
Not understanding that line of thinking but okay.....
Yoshino....well I guess both boys keep things inside, even if they are in pain. But Yoshino starts bringing up Aika's bad points right away. Maybe that was a way to protect himself from the awfulness that is everything. But damn. What is wrong with crying? Excusing yourself and having a cry? I mean maybe just taking Mahiro's hand and looking at the ceiling to think about all of this?
 photo tempestepisode2210_zps1fd3f0f1.jpg
Aw hell no indeed.
So while I can understand why Yoshino and Mahiro need to be men and keep things inside Megumu was like aw hell no. So thus the fists and broken glass and poor glasses of wine. Because he couldn't accept that Aika killed herself and everyone was okay with it, accept her way of doing things. People should be mad, pissed that Aika didn't think of a better plan. I mean I would be pissed too. Logically you can't punish a dead person as Aika you know...killed herself. But she took herself out of the world and left them alone to pick up the pieces. Be upset, throw something. Show some emotion. DO IT!
 photo tempestepisode2212_zpsf3d9fecc.jpg
And then you are going to punch him back?
I do think that the dialogue would have been stronger after Megumu beat the shit out of the boys. Like yes we have to be strong and go through with Aika's plan or else she would have died for nothing. Or to wipe away angry tears saying of course I miss Aika but this is what she wanted! If I cried it would ruin her memory. Something like that. Instead Mahiro smiles and says thanks for showing us you are a badass have fun saving the world.
 photo tempestepisode2211_zps3194b4de.jpg
Megumu doesn't know his own strength I am guessing.
After they put Yoshino back together (seriously folks X___X) it was battle plan time. I think the boats around the tree are a bit of overkill. That being said I hope there are planes in the air and subs under the water. But I guess things aren't as peachy as everyone thinks they are. Maybe the people who are holding hands loving the Genesis tree are worried that the few naysayers will get their hands on some weapons? Just because most of the people in the world are stupid/scared doesn't mean that people are going to take this laying down.
 photo tempestepisode2214_zps86a14914.jpg
Because Megumu wasn't scared enough folks!
Now it is a good thing I am not apart of this planning. XD Because I would be like....well since 2 billion people have already died what is a few boats full of people. I would give them warning and then take the tree out. Because it is either them or the entire world. Is that harsh? I don't know. I guess if I was in the meeting I would suggest that they use Hakaze and her crew to protect everyone while Megumu did all the fighting. Good compromise yes?

But everyone else was thinking about the bigger picture. That they are trying to save the world and not start another war which is what would happen if they just went in guns ablazin. So I can see why everyone was being serious and thinking this through. Like we got to put the word boyfriend aside and focus on the future. Add in the fact that Hakaze's magic and the magic of her people won't work so close to the tree (maybe not even enough to protect the ships) and this is going to be a hard order to fulfill.
 photo tempestepisode22_zpsaf4fb3ce.jpg
Those two need each other even though I don't think they are very good friends....
I am not sure if Mahiro and Yoshino should take on this responsibility because of Aika. Nor would I call it a mistake that Aika killed herself. I am interested in what Mahiro's plan is. Everyone seems very shocked at his wanting to save the world since revenge will never happen. I think Evangeline the useless and her conversation was more on track of what is true that Mahiro and Yoshino blaming themselves. Although I am wondering how Yoshino and Mahiro will help in this battle despite being normal teenagers.
 photo tempestepisode222_zps6783f728.jpg
How dare you show up to this awkward meeting!
The flashback with Aika and the boys was odd. I really didn't find them that odd or weird. I get the whole saying the first name thing but other than that it seems like everyone was being themselves. Not so sure why Aika thought they were so amusing. Nor do I know why Yoshino always gets told he has a wicked personality. But they all met and it doesn't seem like Mahiro even knew Aika for that long. Family can happen fast though so who am I to judge? They all deserve each other I am sure.
 photo tempestepisode229_zpsc39857d5.jpg
They are going to save the world?
So as it stands everyone knows the truth, Megumu can be badass in 60 second increments, and next episode it appears one of the boys are going to be using magic near the tree? The end is drawing near. Are we going to get a happy ending Aika? That has yet to be seen. But soon we shall know.

Hello @Christina

I seriously think the audience wanted to punch Mahiro and Yoshino for being so "casual" about this whole Aika sacrifice thing and trees murdering billions of people. And the writer(s) delivered on that desire by having Megumu rain retribution on these "heroes". Heck, even Hakaze got punched in the face for being uppity.

I wouldn't even classify most of these characters as heroes. More like morally ambiguous bastards for his/her own personal gain. I guess that fits into the gray vs grey morality of this show--no one to root for! Only Megumu seems to care about saving the rest of humanity, and he's the comedic character! I thought Hakaze cared too except during that battle with Aika she revealed that she didn't care about what happens to the world because of some callous witch committing suicide. Then why are you trying then? Why are you still attempting with your plan to deny the Tree of Genesis and save the world when you don't care anymore? Any decent human being would care about stopping the trees, especially after losing a loved one/family/friends to them, but Hakaze & friends aren't decent people; beneath those smiles and bravado are nothing but jerks out for themselves.

I don't know what to think of this show anymore. Almost everything and everyone has gone insane/convoluted. And I'm honestly convinced the show's writers are sociopaths.

Apology for the mini rant. Just my opinion.

That's all.

Anonymous- I would go one step further though. While Megumu might be the most caring person in the show...he still only took this gig to get back together with HIS girlfriend. So punches for everyone! Have at it trees, humanity is doomed apparently.
