Amnesia episode 7: Kent is a fast one!

My new work schedule is so weird. So weird. I am a person of habit. I like things to stay the same forever. So changing a schedule I have in place for 2 years is too odd for me. What should I do with all this extra time off? Clean my house and catch up on things around the house and what not? Well stop making sense!

Aliens?!?!?! XO That could explain everything.
Up now in terms of anime is Amensia episode 7. Spoilers for Kent taking a turn on the Shujinko train!

Where am I now?!
Episode Summary: Shujinko continues to drown in the lake as Orion watches. She opens her eyes and magically she is on dry land. She looks at her cellphone and sees she has text messages from Kent telling her to meet him at the Cafe. She notices it is August 1st again and is like oh boy! She goes to meet with Kent who seems bent on apologizing for something. This being Shujinko she has no idea what is going on and apologizes herself. This briefly throws Kent for a loop as he has studying a book on being a good boyfriend and he is at fault in this situation. Kent talks himself into feeling better about the situation and Shujinko realizes that they are going out. Kent decides they need to go on a walk but sprints down the road leaving Shujinko all winded. Kent declares this all dumb as his friend said that going on walks is a good date. Shujinko is taken home and she notices all the texts from Kent are boring as hell. But he does tell her the next day he has to work at the university all day and he wants her to stop by. She does so and after being offered some water Kent just works the entire day. Shujinko wants to say something but remembers she has no memories and sits there. After all day has passed Kent gets up and declares the date a success. Shujinko is like what the hell as she is petted as a dog. Kent notes that she seems different as she would being yelling at him right about now. The next day at work Shujinko barely talks to Waka as he is quiet in this world. Sawa works at the Cafe this world and talks excitedly about how Shujinko and Kent are going on a date that night to a festival.

Kent....so romantic. XD
After work Shujinko gets all ready for the festival and waits for Kent at the train station but he never shows. She texts him and he calls back, saying that he forgot since this seems dumb to him but is on his way. He gets there and at first is still very stupid about how human beings should act. But after a bit of umbrella holding the date gets underway. When they take a break from the fun Kent talks about how Shujinko wanted to go to this festival as a condition of them going out and Kent thought it was going to be torture. Kent smiles and says he had fun so all is well in the world. The next day Shujinko takes Kent some coffee at the university and Kent catches her in a lie, proving that she has either been kidnapped by aliens or has lost her memories. Orion appears and says that Kent seems smart so lets tell him about what is going on. ALL of what is going on including Orion. Kent believes all of this and tests Orion too in terms of how human he is and what not. After “talking” to Orion Kent realizes that Shujinko is traveling through dimensions and this is not the Shujinko he knows. He gets sad about that and Orion wonders if they did the right thing. Orion disappears and Kent is upset he can't get more answers. Shujinko cheers Kent up, by saying the Shujinko in this world must love him a lot but just gets frustrated with Kent and his...nonhuman ways. Kent confesses that is probably the problem but Shujinko has made him a better person. They walk to her home and Kent seems to show feelings towards her, asking if he can see her tomorrow. Shujinko is bumped in the crowd and assumingly hit by a car. But she doesn't splat on the ground. Instead the time of day changes and Toma is looking at her all confused. THE END!

He turned his crazy around pretty fast yes?
XO Kent got robbed folks. Robbed indeed. Why do the other guys get two episodes and he only got one? Also did we all noticed that Shujinko had a sparkle of personality this episode? Progress folks. Progress.
Photobucket
Well you were an easy person to please.
That being said we all know why Kent only got one episode. Because Shujinko isn't leaving the parallel world because of an accident. She is leaving because she has solved the problem of whoever she is dating and POOF an accident happens so she can go to the next world. She isn't randomly falling into traffic or lakes. She has fulfilled her duty in making that dimension's Shujinko boyfriend a better person and she moves on. And since Kent is so smart his problems were solved in one episode. It all makes sense now.
Photobucket
Well there isn't much in her mind so.....
Well as much sense as this show can make right? We don't know why Shujinko is able to travel to different dimensions. I am sure Orion crashing into her has something to do with it but other than that....we don't know. Is this Shujinko from a world where she was dating none of the guys but was friends with them all? And then in the other dimensions the Shujinko's all wished at once that their boyfriends would get their acts together/that they would know them better and POOF dateless Shujinko gets to sample all the boyfriends before ending up back in her world so she can pick which guy she wants. Not sure how the green hair freak factors into this but that seems to be the case right now.
Photobucket
Me thinks this is not the romantic walk your friend suggested.
Dating Kent was just as exciting as I thought it would be. I didn't get from the other arcs that he was that boring and out of touch to what humans do for fun. So he was worse that what I imagined indeed. Let me pet your head like a cat and break your neck at the same time. Taking a walk sounds like fun but when Kent is involved it turns into a sprint and mission that sucks the fun out of it. And then admitting that you didn't want to go to the festival and it had no interest to you...negative boyfriend points there dude. Be more like my husband and earn tons of boyfriend points by dragging around Duffy and spending 6 hours getting a Christmas present and giving the whole umbrella to me so I don't get wet at all.
Photobucket
What an exciting date!!!
I would have to say the afternoon at the university was the worst part. Like...look we spent the day together? By that logic I spent the afternoon with strangers because we were in the same shopping area together? Why is Kent so out of touch with humans? We didn't get to know him much, like his backstory on how he was raised by robots and how he has never seen people before. He might just be too smart for his own good but he was a little over the top in the dumb department.
Photobucket
Look at me, I am a better boyfriend now!
By the end of the episode it seems that Kent had his issued solved. Sorta. After having some fun at the festival and being more attentive to Shujinko he was well on his way to being a better boyfriend. He didn't open up like the past two boys but his problem might be solved with practice. But then you feel bad for the boy. He realized that this wasn't his Shujinko while the other two never learn that fact. So all the feelings he had the past few days will seem wrong to him and will he be able to put that aside for his Shujinko? He seems like the kind of guy to over think...everything.
Photobucket
And then Orion stood there.
Orion showed up in this episode and thought it would be a good idea to tell Kent all this nonsense. The memory loss yes but the fairy part? Maybe not so much, especially with a logical boy like Kent. I am surprised that didn't hit the fan or Kent didn't have Shujinko put in the hospital. Still Kent was able to put some pieces of the puzzle together. Orion....so helpful isn't he?
Photobucket
LOOK! She talks!
Did I mention that Shujinko improved this episode? I think she was only 50 percent annoying this time. Her UMMMS were only half the responses she gave. Soon she was rolling with the punches and saying yes and nos and of course to things. Going with the flow. She has this dimension floppin thing handled now. Okay...maybe just improved. But still.
Photobucket
Savor this moment because it is about to be over in 5 seconds.
So there you have it. Kent was only around for one episode and green creepy didn't show up. Shujinko is okay with dating 483943 people at once and Kent has a boring fridge at his work place at the university. And if anything bad happens to you hope that Orion isn't the fairy that comes to your rescue. Toma is up next ya'll!

Hello @Christina

I agree with you about poor Kent. He only received one episode while the others got two. :( They should have devoted a second episode dedicated to Kent for character development and learning more of this supernatural twist. At least he is intelligent enough to learn about the princess' amnesia, parallel worlds, and Orion.

Kent is socially awkward with girls because he spent most of his time studying academics while growing up. That would explain his distant and scientific personality. It was only when he started dating the princess that he began learning how to be more human regarding the opposite sex. And it shows in this episode when he started enjoying the fun things with the princess like the festival. Unfortunately, fate took away the princess before they could be more than just friends. But at least the princess didn't die in this episode so I guess that's different from the other timelines.

It's great to see the princess herself get some character development and not let the amnesia dominate her personality. And it was finally a relief when Orion and Kent explained the parallel worlds to the audience. Hopefully, this clears up any confusions for the audience on why the princess is traversing these worlds. There are still questions like the green guy and why the princess is traveling to these different timelines though.

About the fashion choices in this episode: the princess finally changed her outfit! The kimino matches her perfectly and she did appear lovely indeed. Now, if the male characters started dressing more normally then we could start calling it an improvement in the fashion department. And the mean girls/crazy Rika weren't in this episode so that's another improvement as well. Waka seemed sad in this timeline though; he didn't talk much like in the other timelines.

Overall, a short but not bad episode.

That's all on the princess.

Hello @Christina

First anonymous here again.

Let me rephrase what I wrote:

"Hopefully, this clears up any confusions for the audience of the princess dating different guys due to parallel worlds."

I stand corrected.

End comments.

OMG! Kent is good! Best one so far..............but dang would be a real drama if these "worlds" would all come together... and she'd have all these guys fighting over her.. very very nice ep. Can't wait to see Toma's

Anonymous- Kent is almost too awkward for words. Like was he raised alone with books and his computer? Did he walk around with his nose in a book and block out the outside world? He was just...way too special for words.

While the idea of changing someone completely in two episodes is silly....I wish it had taken that long rather than one episode. Let Kent spend one episode making mistakes and spend the second becoming more human and learning about what is going on. Kent got robbed.

I am surprised that Kent was able to accept all this insanity but at least now things make a bit more sense and it's obvious why Shujinko leaves a world now. But I guess there are some other questions left to be answered so that's fine.

Anonymous 2- I am glad we got to see more of Kent but it was way too short. I too wonder if the series will end with Shujinko waking up in her actual world where all the guys want her. XO Who will she pick indeed?
