Another episode 5: Mystery explained!

Behold!!!! My third post today. Surely I deserve a cookie. The ice cream was a bit disappointing though. :( Maybe next week I will try a new flavor and it will be more amazing.

But for now I am happy and motivated. Maybe because it is Tuesday and not Friday night. Funny how most people live for Friday night and I am all like NOOO I HATE THEM! BURN!

Kouichi's brain is about to explode with all this new information.

But lets not think about sad things now. Let us focus on anime weeeee!!! Up now is Another episode 5. Spoilers for THE TRUTH! XO So soon?!

Mei's reaction to dead people. Oh.

Episode Summary: The last few seconds of episode 4 play out for us. You know, when the elevators squishes Sanae. Detectives talk to works at the hospital and Kouichi ends up at the scene looking shocked. It is the talk of the school the next day as their homeroom teacher tells them to buck up. Kouichi tells Mei what is going on as her classmates keep her out of the gossip. Their art teacher Ms Mikami is not in school today which is really upsetting Yuuya. Eventually Kouichi randomly leaves and goes to the annex library to do some research. He looks up old yearbooks, specifically the one from his mother’s year. The year the popular girl died. The creepy librarian walks up and acts like he knows who Kouichi’s mom was…and gets really confused on a matter. But instead of explaining anything he walks away. Izumi fetches Kouichi as the police want to talk to him in regards to Nurse Sanae being splatted. Before they part Izumi apologizes for what the classmates are about to do to him but he needs to endure it for the rest of the class. The cops really don’t have much to say to Kouichi so he walks back to class rather quickly. Only…everyone is not there. Their stuff is but none of his classmates. Creepy homeroom teacher walks by and tells Kouichi a million times he needs to follow the class rules. Before everyone can escape Kouichi basically forces Yuuya and Ikuo to walk home with him. He wants to know what the heck is going on. Yuuya says they aren’t allowed to say anything. Ikuo decides that this isn’t fair and agrees to answer any questions Kouichi asks him. Kouichi asks if Mei is real and Ikuo….drops dead from a heart attack.

Group meeting without Kouichi. Just a normal day.

The next day at school Kouichi tries talking to ANYONE from his class only they all ignore him. He walks out in the middle of a lesson and the teacher does nothing. Later he finds two notes in his desk. One being the class list and another saying to contact Mei to understand what the heck is going on. So he does. On to Mei’s house he goes. Which happens to be the doll shop and it only took him 5 episodes to get! He explains to Kouichi he is being treated just like her, ignored and whatnot. Kouichi then starts his series of questions and Mei explains the mystery to him. She is not a ghost. After the class who had the dead girl in it graduated Class 3 was curse. There would also be an extra student despite the fact the number should be set in stone. Memories were changed and no one can ever figure out who the “ghost” student is. The theory being that the extra classmate is a ghost from a previous class 3 who has been invited to the dead class. If the class has an extra member at least one student or family member will die each month of that school year. But after a while Class 3 came up with a way to prevent this from happening. To select one student to treat as a ghost thus actually only acknowledging the correct number of classmates. So basically there is a ghost in the class right now but they have no idea who it is. And since Kouichi was not told of this rule he messed it up for everyone and they think they can fix it by ignoring him too. Yay for information. THE END!

XO We were actually told the mystery in episode 5?! We didn’t have to wait 6 more episodes for the truth? I am picking myself off the ground here folks.

Photobucket

Everyone is saying a whole lot of nothing to Kouichi.

But first things first. What exactly were the cops doing talking to Kouichi? Are they in on what has to happen with Class 3 and were just trying to get Kouichi out of the room? Or were they really questioning him? Not sure what they would get out of him but it seemed weird. Or maybe I am over-analyzing everything.

Photobucket

Kouichi seems the most upset with her death. Where is the brother?!

I wish that we saw more of the brother. The brother of Sanae that is. I don’t even see his name on MyAnimeList. Doesn’t he care that his sister is an elevator pancake? Actually now I am having a hard time remembering who the brother is…maybe he wasn’t in this episode because he was at home grieving? But I would have liked to see people trying to console the brother or something. Or maybe more fear in the eyes of the other students.

Photobucket

This came out of nowhere. Like when was it hinted that she was sick or anything?

I want to know what the heck is going on with Teacher Mikami. She was out of school and when she returned she seem rather…dead. I know she was already ignoring Kouichi but then the homeroom teacher made an announcement about her. That she will cooperate with their plans but she is not happy about it. What is she not happy about? Is she a brand new teacher who hasn’t been through this before? Is she getting tired of living this nightmare? Or does she have a deeper connection to Kouichi than we know?

Photobucket

Well if Kouichi thinks she is fine....it is time to panic!

But no matter what is up with her Yuuya is even creepier. Does he just have a simple crush on her or are the two having…a “relationship”? Because he was way too concerned there folks. Why is he asking Kouichi what is going with her HE JUST GOT HERE! He is so weird and out of place. Yet he seems like a broken little puppy who needs a hug. Just cool it little boy, you are coming across really one dimensional.

Photobucket

How about we actually say some words here dude? If you have information spill!

Creepy librarian dude was acting really creepy. Maybe I will learn his name if he does something really interesting. But obviously he knows Kouichi’s mother. He looks far too old to be a fellow classmate but maybe he has worked at the school the entire time the curse has been going on. Who knows. The point is after all this time he remembers Kouichi’s mothers name and he had something to say. He couldn’t say it because we can’t learn everything in one week but there is a reason why Kouichi is in this class folks and momma is the key.

Photobucket

Every time Kouichi asks a question an angel gets their wings. And a classmate dies.

So how sad is it that Kouichi was going to get the truth from someone and that someone dies? Can we talk about killer? Now everyone will have a reason to hate Kouichi. Poor Ikuo. He was the only one willing to tell Kouichi anything and before he can form a sentence he is the next to go. This curse is working fast folks. You look or talk to Kouichi too much and you die. Painfully too. Poor poor Ikuo.

Photobucket

Follow the rules that NO ONE HAS TOLD YOU YET!

Everyone ignoring Kouichi was weird. It was explained by the end of the episode but it was still weird. But I do think it was nice of Izumi to warn him beforehand. The homeroom teacher was off and I sense he could care less about what happens to all the students. Which is stupid as he is the closest one to them right?

Mei isn’t a ghost. Everyone rejoice.

Photobucket

Everyone is a suspect! Quick break out the very simple formula!!!

Of course….she could still be a ghost and not know it. Because we got the whole story folks! But for now Mei doesn’t think she is a ghost. She is real folks. Just her name is slightly unfortunate and maybe her parents should have thought about that one. Or did they….?

Photobucket

Well Mei got to say the truth and she didn't die of a heart attack. But she is already missing an eye...

But yes folks! The truth! We don’t know if what Mei is saying is the truth or the truth that the kids have all been told but the curse/weirdness goes like this: Kouichi’s mom and her classmates pretend their dead classmate is alive. It is unknown if the girl was murdered or not. After that class graduates the next class gets an “extra” classmate and records/memories are changed so no one can figure out who the extra classmate is. That year 16 or so classmates/family members die. From then on Class 3 has one too many students and people die. Only when a plan is devised to essentially “kill off a classmate” aka ignore them do the killings stop. And it is thought that the ghost in the classroom, the one who doesn’t know they are a ghost, are previous Class 3 members.

Photobucket

Well I guess ignoring them is better than what I thought they were going to do with Kouichi. XD

What a mystery right?! This explains why everyone is ignoring Mei and really had a hard time explaining to Kouichi what was going on. But by not telling Kouichi means he would acknowledge her and the curse would happen anyway. I do think they could have been sneakier with the class ledger though. Like here Kouichi have this piece of paper that NO ONE altered! But overall some things are starting to make sense.

Photobucket

Doesn't really make sense to me either.

But since three people have already died is there any reason to keep up this game? It has begun. The ghost is accidentally or killing people because Mei was acknowledge. If that is how the rules work. Or maybe there is still hope and that is why people are banking on ignoring both Kouichi and Mei? Oh and the school hates this class. Well we have 20 students per class but we have 21 due to a curse so lets add another student! Because that will make things better weee!

Now this is me and my logic trying to make sense of things but…okay. Follow me. If the ghosts are students from another class, a prior year…couldn’t they pull a Kouichi and walk on over the annex library? Check out some past year books and go WOW Yuri looks a lot like someone from a past year? Unless the curse affects books and appearances as well .Then that probably wouldn’t work.

So for now Kouichi is going X____x and so are viewers. But I think that Mei might be happier knowing that she has someone to be ignored with. They can drink their juice boxes and hang out after school while the town slowly dies. WEE for fun!

Next week preview shows that Kouichi has totally become comrade in arms with Misaki.
He is a forgetful boy.
He has forgotten Misaki's suspicious action in the hospital on 1st episode, and her denial of that.

Eternia- Kouichi has been an odd duck from episode 1. I don't think his classmates ignoring him will affect him that much since he has been basically ignoring them when Mei is around. They will drink juice boxes and hang out after school until most of their classmates are dead. Then he will go OH CRAP and start trying to piece together this mystery.

Huuh. ignoring Kouichi won't work. The 'ghost' student is just one person, so they should balance it out by ignoring one person, not two persons.
I want to see more body count! The rule that 'only one student and one family member die each months' is wrong to begin with, from the number of deaths that Misaki told him.

Okay, first of all, after someone dies won't that even out the number of people in the class. That means one person should die, right? Also, why did Kouichi get put in the class in the first place. It seems like he must be the dead student because they wouldn't put an extra student in that class unless he just appeared and people spontaneously received a new memory that he transferred in. Mystery solved.

Except probably not. By the way Mei's explanation was really confusing. Probably we're missing something. Whatever. Still like this show. But Kouichi should just transfer to _another_ new school.

Eternia- Well it is a good thing that the rule is at LEAST one person a month. XD So we can have the tons of people dead by the end of this. Well maybe not tons since Japanese people have small families but still the possibilities could be endless.

Anonymous- I think they should pull an Yuno and just pretend like that classroom doesn't exist. Dig a hole and push the room into it. XD

But that is a good point. It was just about numbers one dead person should be enough. This curse does seem to be complicated. Hopefully all is explained at the end of the day.

Wow, this really helped me get around what was going on. You have talent! I'd like to see some more anime theories :D.
