Another episode 12 FINAL EPISODE! And the dead one is.....

BOOOO! Why are all these shows ending?! What will I do?! Read the back log of stuff I have at my house? Scrapbook events from last year? Finished the plushie I was making at AWA? Crazy thoughts CRAZY!

But yes this is the last episode of Another. I hear rumors there might be some spin offs which is entirely possible given the nature of this series. But I doubt any of the returning cast will be involved. XD Or I hope not anyway. I see why being an only child would be super helpful for your family in this situation. XD Won’t help Japan’s aging society but maybe just this one town.

Photobucket

The understatement of the year!

But anyway it is time to blog the last episode of Another. Spoilers for the dead one being revealed and the body count increasing.

Photobucket

Ah yes perfect time to make a phone call!

Episode Summary: Everyone has finally seen the light (from the flames) and are quickly trying to exit the building. Some groups are more successful than others as shiny chandeliers takes out about 4 people. Other students are stabbed by someone but it is NOT the InnKeeper Lady. Not she is busy trying to kill Teshigawara and Yuuya. Chibiki comes back just in time to stab InnKeeper Lady and to tell everyone this is not normal. OH I SEE. Kouichi is walking slowly down the halls looking for Mei when he finds one of the stabbing victims. Chibiki gets a few students to the van outside and goes back to look for my survivors. Kouichi happens upon another student but she is quickly stabbed to death. The culprit….Kazumi! Kazumi has decides that Kouichi is the dead one (so those other people were just practice) and Kouichi tries to convince him the tragedies started in May. A fight for the knife breaks out and things aren’t looking too good for Kouichi. Izumi comes by and bashes Kazumi in the head. She calls Kazumi a murderer and is about to kill him when Chibiki saves Kazumi. Izumi calls Chibiki a coward for starting this all and runs off. Chibiki takes Kazumi outside but he dies from his injuries (I think).

Kouichi goes back inside so he can find Mei. He finds Izumi trying to kill Mei while Mei is like lalala I need to walk away. Izumi does a good job in bashing Mei in but the building keeps blowing up and falling apart. Kouichi saves Mei and tries to tell Izumi the dead one is NOT Mei. Izumi starts yelling and saying Mei is at fault when a huge lightning bolt hits nearby. The impact breaks the huge glass window and Izumi is struck with several pieces of glass. As Izumi dies she remembers that she met Kouichi last year, around the time her brother died. She tells Kouichi this but he claims not to remember. Izumi is pissed she doesn’t even get a romantic moment even in death. When Kouichi turns around Mei is gone. So he takes out his cellphone and manages to get a hold of her. Mei picks up and tells Kouichi she doesn’t want him near her when she takes out the dead one. So she tells him where she is and he takes off after her. They meet up in the backyard where the dead one is pinned under some fallen debris. Mei again tells Kouichi to back off but he insists on taking a closer look.

Photobucket

Yay a new bunch of messe up kids!

SURPRISE it is his Aunt Reiko. Kouichi is like NOOOOOOO! Mei then explains that she now REMEMBERS that she saw Aunt Reiko die about two years ago, when she was the real homeroom teacher. A student flipped out and killed her and her body was found in the river. The missing desk was in the teacher’s lounge and this class was the only one to have a helper homeroom teacher. Kouichi, despite freaking out, thinks back to the bird saying REI all the time, grandfather crying all the time, and how the 4th rule of surviving school was never to refer to her as Reiko. Mei explains this is why she couldn’t tell Kouichi and picks up the weapon again. Kouichi takes the weapon from Mei and says he will do it instead. Reiko is like no Kouichi it isn’t me! After a moment of hesitation Kouichi decides he is on team Mei and it is a pick axe to the head. Some time passes and students are seen recovering in the hospital. Kouichi and Mei end up visiting Reiko’s real grave. No one else seems to remember Reiko and it won’t be long until Kouichi and Mei forget too. Kouichi doesn’t really want to forget…After spending 5 seconds mourning over Reiko Kouichi tries to put the moves on Mei. She acts coy and it is all very cute. Teshigawara and Yuuya are seen leaving an updated version of the tape (now a CD) in the classroom in hopes that all the students will hear it and come to the logical conclusion to start killing each other at random. THE END!

XO Was….was I right…AGAIN?! I was right on Mirai Nikki and now I am right in this show?! Am I dreaming? Are crazy Tenchi theories actually starting to be right? Or were these shows obvious enough with their explanations?

Well that and I was SPOILED with the knowledge that Ms. Mikami was Reiko. I still don’t know that needed to be hidden from the audience. I mean..they had different voice actresses and looked totally different. Perhaps we needed to be given a reason why Mei didn’t simply tell Kouichi who the dead one was. If it was just his teacher that wouldn’t be so bad. But it was his teacher/Aunt.

Photobucket

Yeppers. I knews it!

But…maybe I am not buying that completely. I might be biased though. Once I learned of this CRITICAL detail I started to pay more attention. Well I started to pay super close attention once I missed so many things in Mirai Nikki episode 1. But yes maybe I did pay attention more that I learned the teacher and Aunt were the same. With all that said how much of the story would have changed had we been aware of that fact? It will probably be impossible to answer that question as I already knew. I are tainted.

Photobucket

Just...yeah. This was weird.

I am not feeling the reason behind why InnKeeper Dude and Lady went insane and started killing everyone. Well we don’t know if InnKeeper Dude did kill anyone. If they were sad their grandson died (of…possible natural causes since he was a sick) why would they turn on each other? I guess it is unclear on who killed InnKeeper Dude and who set the fire but InnKeeper Lady was hardcore insane. I think there was enough tension and crazy going on without adding them into the mix.

Photobucket

Now...I might have just run away from the murderous crazies in my class and not become one. But that is just me.

I am not quite sure how I feel about Kazumi. I think what happened to him was horrible, especially at the hands of his best friend. He was yelled at and interrogated then pushed out a window, left to die. He woke up and everything was insane. However….maybe…just maybe slashing everyone in sight was a bad idea. Not just because it lead to his death (right he did die? He wasn’t the kid in the hospital bed at the end of the episode?) but it just made him look like an insane killer. He needed a reason to after the person he was, like Takako. I mean she had some pretty dang ugly faces going on but she had reasons to think Mei was the dead one. Kazumi was just slashing anyone who was stupid enough to walk by him. I think I would have liked it more had Kazumi just gone after Kouichi, for revenge purposes and for the logical well you joined the class last.

Photobucket

Yeah. Bad Kazumi.

But he didn’t and Izumi, the class “protector” (Buffy laughs in your face!) bashes his head in. Because it is wrong to kill your classmates. Or just Kouichi as five seconds later Izumi is like KILL MEI! Maybe I am being too hard on these kids. XD They have been through a lot. Izumi blames herself for the curse happening, lost her brother to the curse earlier in life, has her best friend is dead in the hallway, and the boy she likes actually likes Mei and they are the reason the curse wasn’t contained. So maybe Izumi losing her mind a little was understandable and justified. Only I find it funny that she was yelling at Kazumi and she turns around to do the same thing later.

Photobucket

I was just trying to protect the class...by killing one of my classmates!

Izumi dying…..a lot of people seem to be angry at that. I am glad that Mei didn’t kill her (although maybe Mei could show a bit more emotion when she is in such peril) but I am having mixed thoughts about her deaths. Love triangles can end with two people getting together and the other person living and finding someone else. People don’t HAVE to die so someone else can get together. So Mei and Kouichi couple fans…Izumi didn’t have to die. But in terms of the show….I have no idea. Could she have lived with herself, as on almost murderer? Seeing so many of her classmates die and what not? I suppose the same could be said about Teshigawara and Yuuya but Izumi slipped into some unstable stuff there that I am not sure she could recover from.

Photobucket

Not seeing the problem with this...

I have heard that some people are upset with the violence and pointless deaths. I mean…I did have a problem with the students being EH? at the news of a fire. But some of the students trying to kill Mei or dying trying to leave the building…sounds pretty believable to me. Chaos was all around them and they were already on edge. Maybe it is special that the fire got THAT bad before they decided to leave the place but logs and stuff falling on people as they try to escape…yeah didn’t seem over the top to me. However I recognize by increasing the death count in such a dramatic way makes the show more of a slasher series instead of a horror show. The line can be fine sometimes and a bit blurry so it can be hard to judge if Another went over that line into slasher territory. Although slasher shows/movies usually have one/two villains doing all the killing and everything is explained at one point….

Photobucket

I think that a lot of stupid already happened...with the whole NOT LEAVING THE BURNING BUILDING!

So after Mei escapes and Izumi is turned into a pin cushion things get a little weird. Chibiki returns from NOT finding the hospital just in time to be the only adult in charge. Not one cell phone was working when a student was having a heart attack but now that Kouichi is inside of a burning building everything works just fine. And Mei doesn’t want Kouichi to come after her while she kills the dead one so she tells him exactly where she is. Things like this make Tenchi a little HMMMM. Also Mei is pretty amazing knowing where the dead one was…all the way outside….her eye is that amazing!

Photobucket

How can this be?! XO Put your glasses on and you will morph into Reiko!

And then the reveal….Aunt Reiko is the dead one! Somehow she survived a mop to head only to be trapped under part of a shed. Kouichi did a great job in being shocked and Mei did a MAGICAL job in explaining everything to us. Like seriously magical. Even though the entire time we have been told that everyone’s memories of the dead person have been altered. Mei is just so magical.

Photobucket

I hope this kid died or Mei let a killer get away with murder. X__X

Aunt Reiko didn’t die during her class’ curse. So Matsunaga actually did kill a boy and it wasn’t a confusion on the pronoun front. However…I felt as if Aunt Reiko’s death was just tacked on after the fact. Like someone killed Reiko. That is all I got. They didn’t do a good job explaining some student (probably the nonexistent one) snapped and killed Reiko in broad daylight. But it did tie in the water and the floating dead body. Like look everything from the opening minus the creepy dolls was important!

Photobucket

Surely that would have been an important piece of information...if I knew more of the Japanese school system.

So the fun facts that were supposed to clue us in about Reiko being the dead one! The bird. I KNEW IT BIRD. The grandfather often cried about BOTH of his daughters being dead and the bird was coping what he was saying, just not completely. Izumi was correct in saying that Kouichi was in town 1.5 years ago as was the father. The reason? Kouichi was attending Reiko’s funeral. Reiko often got headaches…well that might not be a real reason but she did have a hard time trying to remember the past. And the missing desk was in the teacher’s lounge. See everything adds up!

Photobucket

Game over, grandpa has this figured out all along.

Well maybe. I am still a little meh that it turned out to be Reiko. Like I stated earlier I think the dead one should have been a student (even if there were enough clues pointing at Reiko). I didn’t know that it was weird to have a co-homeroom teacher. Mei was like WELL wasn’t the weird Kouichi? It was never mentioned before so how would I know to look out for that? But if it was so obvious maybe the other students should have realized that? Like we have the right number of chairs the entire time why is this happening? Guess they were too focused on blaming Kouichi and his exchange student status.

Photobucket

YAY! We are all happy now!

In the end everything seems okay. I was expecting Kouichi to be slightly more upset that he took out his Aunt with a pick axe. I mean everything they have been through has been rough but that particular point seems extra crappy. Mei and her dead eye seeing self seems okay despite the fact that if she had just OPENED HER MOUTH a lot of lives could have been saved. Kouichi seems more interested in getting it on with Mei than grieving his dead Aunt.

Overall I think this series was pretty decent, a good showing of what a horror show should be about. I do think the end could have been stronger, AKA not being so happy go lucky after the fact. Many people were saying the manga was better. Well after this episode was over I went and read the entire manga (thus so many late posts). The manga and anime were almost exact, with the exception of the beach episode and the final episode. And this might be a shocker…but I liked the anime better than the manga. X__X The manga had some more issues with Izumi but other than that I thought the anime was stronger. XD Which is probably a first…

In conclusion while this series a few minor meh issues overall it was pretty enjoyable. It was nice anime to look forward to on Mondays. Although I am glad that I won’t have to see those creepy dolls anymore. Thanks for the good time Another!

Another episode 11

XO I feel as if I have been slacking lately when it comes to getting my anime posts blogged and up on time. But what really is on time right? A hobby shouldn’t have a set schedule right? I am trying to be a more mellow Tenchi. Having fun and doing what I want to do during my hours off from hell.

Or maybe I am just wasting too much time doing other things on the internet. I go to one site and get linked to something else which has a something else I want to read about and before I know it 2 hours have gone by. I am a serial clicker!

Photobucket

Someone is not good at keeping secrets.

But here is Another episode 11! Watched and blogged before I even peak at Mirai Nikki! What is wrong with me? Serves them right for not being ready at 1 am on Sunday night (or morning for normal people). Another episode 11! Spoilers for trying to outdo the Hunger Games before the movie is released!

Photobucket

Are we sure he killed a HIM?!

Episode Summary: Matsunaga recaps his tapped message but this time we see him. Gives a little extra to the creepiness. Elsewhere in the hotel, when Mei was telling Kouichi about her sister and her eyeball abilities Izumi and Takako are having a little meeting. Izumi thinks something is off about Mei and Takako says Mei was at HER elementary school with BOTH eyes. Oh snap! So right before Mei is going to announce who the dead person is Teshigawara walks in with his dramatic self. The following is the most calmest explanation of maybe murder ever. Remember when Tomohiko used to be important? He and Teshigawara are best friends. But lately Teshigawara thinks that Tomohiko has been acting weird. Surely it can’t be the stress of the curse or anything. Teshigawara interrogates Tomohiko about their childhood past and when Tomohiko doesn’t remember certain things Teshigawara assumes Tomohiko is the dead one and somehow Tomohiko ends up outside on the cement. Teshigawara decides he must have made a mistake if Mei and Kouichi remember Tomohiko. Well maybe he isn’t dead yet so everyone decides to take a leisurely stroll downstairs. On the way Kouichi casually finds another student who has been stabbed several times. Kouichi is directed to the dining room to find out who did the stabbing. The dining room is on fire and the male Innkeeper has been stabbed with what looks like fire pokers. Oh Kouichi says.

Teshigawara and Mei go outside and declare Tomohiko gone. Since they decide to look for him I take this to mean Tomohiko’s body is not outside and not that he has passed on. Oh and Kouichi says they have to calmly tell everyone the damn building is on fire. They start casually knocking on doors telling people they are in peril. Along the way they pick up Izumi and they hear Takako scream. They find blood all over the place. Yuuya joins the group and says he saw Tomohiko mumbling about Teshigawara. Yuuya is on team Let’s Find an Adult. Only the Women Innkeeper finds Yuuya and Teshigawara and she is brandishing a weapon. The Mei, Kouichi, and Izumi group find Takako covered in blood. She probably killed the Male Innkeeper but who knows. She is covered in blood and tells Izumi she is so happy she is alive. Teshigawara is SLIGHTLY cut on his leg which means Yuuya has to pull him down the hall away from the crazy Inn Lady. Takako turns on Mei and says she is the dead one. Apparently Yuuya went and let Izumi and Takako listen to the secret tape.

Photobucket

At least Izumi is still alive?

Despite getting kicked in the balls Kouichi is able to protect Mei. Takako then runs off and plays the tape over the intercom system telling everyone to kill Mei. As kids start leaving their rooms with mops as weapons Reiko comes to tell the students they are all wrong. Reiko gets hit in the head and Kouichi takes off with Mei. As they dodge people the girl who lost her brother when a truck ran into their house tries to kill Mei. She ends upside as a pretzel. Some students eventually make it downstairs but decide to open the dining room door. This leads to an explosion and another dead student. The building starts to fall apart and Takako finds Mei and Kouichi in the stairwell. She stabs Kouichi but leaves him alive since Izumi wants to have sex with him. Takako goes to attack Mei but ends up killing herself on fallen debris. Izumi walks by and blames Mei for her death. Mei picks up a weapon and says she is going to kill the dead one. She runs off upstairs leaving Kouichi trapped by falling debris. THE END!

HAHAHA! This episode was so….amazing. And special. But while I have no tolerance for specialness in that hot mess Guilty Crown…this is still amusing and makes some sense to me. Some.

But if I were to be objective I would rank this episode the weakest in the series. The best in terms or blood and gore but HOT DAMN this show was all over the dang place this week.

Photobucket

No tears? I see...

I see a lot of people are talking about the pacing and what not. People are torn between everything being on the edge of your seat or that the pacing was off. I am in the off camp. I am okay with everything jumping around scene to scene. There should have been chaos and what not, a lot was going on. So jumping around and stuff…I understand.

Photobucket

So much calm....

However….where is the chaos? Where was the mayhem? Teshigawara is like um I did a bad thing and killed Tomohiko and Mei and Kouichi are like…oh okay please tell me more. Um no folks. It is time for freaking out. Teshigawara was SO SLOW in explaining what happened. Then when they decided to go see if Tomohiko was still alive they calmly walked down the stairs. There they found another student stabbed, the dining room on fire, and the male innkeeper dead.

Photobucket

Very serious! Now run.

So they respond by calmly putting the injured dude upstairs to find Tomohiko (who apparently either crawled away or someone finished him off and hid the body) and tell everyone the building is on fire. CALMLY! Like what is this going door to door crap?! Run up and down the hallways screaming the building is on FIRE. FIRE FOLKS! If this had happened everyone would have been outside and Kouichi would only have to deal with Takako and her insane theories. Everyone would have GASPED and stared at Mei while Kouichi explained the Mei is a twin deal. None of that happened obviously.

Photobucket

...If I thought I killed my best friend...I might walk a little faster than this. Just a little...

So that is what I think was wrong with the pacing. Or maybe more the mood. Either way the frantic feeling was not there from the start of the episode. I guess one could say that Mei really doesn’t freak out and Kouichi might be in such shock that he was just too far gone to be freaked out. STILL FOLKS! I do not want to go on vacation with these fools. Aside from the fact they are all murdering each other and close to death. Like hello the building is on fire please announce it to the entire class. Okay Tomohiko and his serious head injury is missing…SAVE ME!

I am about ready to throw Yuuya out a window. I am slightly disappointed that his feelings for Reiko won’t be explained (one episode left folks!) but maybe it is as simple as a boy crush on his teacher. Putting that aside he is a SNAKE. SNAKE! Okay maybe not a snake…but my eyes are on him and his insane behavior. Do I think that Izumi should have been told about the tape from the start? Yes. She is the head of dying people organization right? But after the group of 4 found out HOW to end the curse it was clear that information should be kept secret. It would lead to chaos and mayhem. Oh wait….

Photobucket

Yuuya? You know the girly looking boy who seems to be EVERYWHERE!?

So yes. Yuuya telling Izumi was a bit questionable. Especially when someone else not in the NEED TO KNOW group was in the room. Takako being unstable at the time doesn’t bother me so much as everyone should be one second away from losing it. I feel as if Yuuya did a lot of meddling in this episode. He was in the hallway at weird times, was involved with a lot of drama but no one blamed him, and if I was Teshigawara I would not be letting him drag me down a hall. He would probably throw me down the stairs or something.

Or I am just picking on Yuuya who seems a little more sensitive than the average boy. Just he seems very odd sometimes. More fear in everyone please!

Photobucket

I have a feeling this scene was important. Like Reiko set the house on fire and was trying to kill herself.

Reiko was once again useless in this episode. Is there a reason why Kouichi didn’t get her first to help with the evacuating process? Maybe because he knows she is useless too? But she did take one for Mei which is a good thing in my book. Last teacher decided to opt out so it is nice to see someone give a crap about these kids. I do think it was interesting that she said two different things. You can’t kill a classmate AND it’s not Mei. She seemed very sure of that fact despite not knowing anything. Unless she does deep down…

Photobucket

So many insane faces in this episode.

From there everything went insane. Takako…it might have been smarter for her to privately go after Mei. I don’t think her intentions were to protect the rest of the class though. I think she was just trying to protect Izumi. If that meant driving the rest of class crazy in a Battle Royale type deal so be it. This would be mean many more people would die in the chaos but it would increase her chances of getting Mei killed and Izumi protected.

Photobucket

So was this Izumi or the wife? Or Reiko?

I have no idea what was going on with the Innkeeper and his wife. Like no idea at all. The kids in Class 3 are the ones having mental breakdowns right? Homeslice wife turned on her husband for seemingly no reason. Did someone inform Granny that this class was cursed which probably put her beloved Inn in danger? Of course her setting it on fire and staining the floors with blood put it in more danger…But yes don’t know why they freaked out and went insane. Takako doesn’t seem to care either.

Photobucket

Killing Mei has not gone well for most people though.

At this point I don’t think I can really blame the students for going insane and trying to kill Mei. After all they have been through and lost it is only natural they do unnatural things. Well except for the ones NOT freaking out. Weirdos. I might have picked a better weapon than a MOP (wtf was a mop doing in his room anyway?!) but yes. Time to kill or be killed. As for me…I am running my ass outside away from everyone and waiting things out. But I would probably trip down the stairs or something.

Photobucket

This all makes sense if you don't know the truth!

Mei and her MOUTH need to open and spill the truth to everyone. I can see why Takako and Izumi came to that logical conclusion since MOST twins don’t grow up in separate parts of towns and Mei is missing an eye. And maybe at that point no one would have believed Mei anyway. But maybe Mei could have tried. Or at least run over and kill the dead one in an attempt to save herself.

But Mei didn’t do that. Because Kouichi is her friend. And Aunt Reiko is the dead one. That might put a damper on their friendship. Of course that would only last a few minute right? Mei kills Aunt Reiko, we get a flashback on how she died before her killer classmate stopped the curse, and how everything adds up to being her. Mei is running upstairs like she KNOWS where the person is. And the only person she knows FOR SURE that is upstairs is Reiko. Because she took a mop to the kne…I mean head. So that is my theory. Mei is going to try to kill Reiko but Kouichi is like NOOO not my family and has to struggle with stopping Mei and protecting Ms. Mush for Brain.

This somehow all leads them outside though. Not sure how Mei is going to make it outside with an entire house trying to kill her but maybe the kitchen exploding opened some walls. Plus these students don’t seem to bright. The brains got strangled and smushed pretty badly.

In conclusion this show is going to probably have the lowest class count in the 26 years of the curse. Surely they will be a lesson for classes to come. At this point we are running out of random kids to kill so I am predicting at least two “Mains” deaths not including Aunt Reiko the dead one. And since the “story” being told at the beginning of episode 1 has been proven to be false (The original was not a girl) not even Kouichi is safe! I just hope everything is tied up in a decent fashion and the main focus isn’t blood, guts, and spit coming out of people’s mouths.

Another episode 10

Le sigh. LE SIGH. I was going to type out why I have the LE SIGHS but I guess typing out my family business in an anime post would be weird. And depressing. I am sure everyone has family issues/real life issues that make them want to scream. It seems like every single week there is something new. LE SIGH.

I shall focus on the positives, pray for the best, and take out my anger on the dirt in my house. I banish you soap scum and dirty laundry. But I really do hope my family tones it down in the drama department. Not a fan folks, not a fan.

Photobucket

Oh snap she is about to go Black Rock Shooter on us!

So to all the people out there dealing with family issues…lets talk about a show where people are truly having a bad day. Hard to feel sorry for yourself when people are flying off cliffs and being killed by evil and expensive umbrellas. Another episode 10 time! Spoilers for these kids having no survival instincts what so ever.

Photobucket

Such a happy picture...

Episode Summary: A tiny recap from last week is shown as other classmates whisper about the recent deaths and how the class trip might not be a good idea. But onwards our troops go. Destination is the temple grounds where we the viewers know is not the place/cause to stop the curse. But no one else knows that and they stop at a beautiful yet creepy building for their trip. Oh yes before this trip Izumi has a dream, a memory if you would. She was on a hill crying and declaring her brother stupid. She falls down the hill and Kouichi helps her up, introducing himself to her. Izumi wakes up in a cold sweat as she has finally remember when she first met Kouichi. Back to the best trip ever! Yuuya insists they take a class picture. Everyone else seems to be anti smiles given how BAD things have been recently. But there is some romance in the air as Mei and Kouichi are constantly paired together as well as Yuuya and Ms. Reiko. Shortly after they settle in the new mains (Teshigawara, Yuuya, Kouichi, and Mei) settle down to listen to the repaired tape.

Photobucket

Never been to town recently my butt!

Kid Matsunaga explains that after they escaped Killer Mountain he and another student got in a fight. During the fight Matsunaga accidentally got the boy killed. He ran back to his room and said nothing to anyone. But the next morning when he went back to hide the body…I mean do the right thing the body was gone. When Matsunaga decided to confess his other classmates but no one knows who is talking about. Matsunaga figures that he accidentally killed the dead one and after a while no one else dies. He concludes he has stopped the curse and left the tape for future classmates. Mei comments this must be true as the boys name has been erased from the tapes. So all is fixed now…except no one knows how to figure out who the dead one is. On to dinner! Everything is quiet and miserable until Izumi announces she has an announcement. She acknowledges that she has failed to stop the supernatural curse from splatting half the town…but ya’ll Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! Or she decides to blame everything on Mei. If Mei had just done a better job of ignoring Kouichi none of this would have happened. And Mei needs to say sorry. Mei is like I don’t think sorries are very helpful at this point and the asthma kid freaks out on the table. Apparently the dumbass has forgotten his medicine. The only rational adult (Chibiki) takes the stupid kid to the nearest hospital as all the phones are down.

Photobucket

Pretty obvious who the dead one is....

Mei decides this is the best time to ask Kouichi to show her the class picture from his Mom’s year. The box was kept in a room that only Aunt Reiko uses. Mei comments on how similar Reiko and his mom look. Then they look at the photo. It is pretty dang clear who the dead kid is…as he looks dead and not present when the picture was taken. Then Kouichi asks why Mei knows he isn’t the dead person and why her family life is special. Her mother is really her Aunt. When her Aunt was younger she got pregnant and the baby died. When her birth mother got pregnant she had twins but was having financial problems. So the logical conclusion was to give one twin away (Mei) to the sister (who are also twins) so she wouldn’t go insane. But then Auntie/Adopted Mother never really loved Mei. The point of the story is that Mei eventually found her twin and grew close to her and she was actually devastated when she died. Since Mei’s SISTER died and not her twin that is when Mei thinks the curse started, in April, before Kouichi joined the class. Thus he is not dead. Oh and her eye lets her see dead people and people who are close to death. So she actually KNOWS who the dead person is. Before Mei can announce this important news Teshigawara runs in saying he did something really bad…and there is dead body outside. OH SNAP THE END!

Photobucket

Oh Mei. Knowing everything yet no one would give you the time of day except the new kid.

XO This series! I loves it. Yes I acknowledge it does have some flaws here and there (OPEN YO MOUTH MEI!) but really. I loves it. I wish to force my husband to watch it so he takes back every single bad thing he has said about horror movies. Of course they were Sci-Fi horror movies…

Photobucket

News reporters get no sleep in this town.

First I love how this series utilizes the really boring and time wasting recapping of the last episode. Usually I get really upset that 2 minutes are wasted on crap we already knew but Another makes it so viewers are reminded of last week AND we get slightly new information. Maybe it is just a small thing I am happy about but yeah. Happy.

Also I want to see how big the cemetery is for this town. Just rows and rows of new signs this year right?

Photobucket

Nothing says like YAY WE LIVED like killing someone else.

While I sing this episode’s praises I do think the kids were SLIGHTLY special to wait and listen to the tape AFTER they went on their trip. The sense of urgency is not with these kids. Of course if I was one of those kids I would have been on the ball about hunting down a way to stop it the second the umbrella hit the neck. But with these kids it is like MEH let’s do it tomorrow. Or MEH I can see dead people but in light of the situation I will say nothing.

Photobucket

A very important piece of information that they should have learned...at home.

But the tape. THE TAPE. While it had a pretty interesting secret on it, it will not help our current class. Unless Mei ponies up an answer. But I had guessed a while ago that Matsunaga “killed” the dead one. I am not sure how you kill a dead person (well unless it is a zombie AIM FOR THE HEAD) but since we don’t know how dead people can have bodies that appear to be alive that is probably not the point. The point is….Matsunaga saved everyone on accident. Wish we had more information on what caused the fight but maybe it was just the tension of everything. But yes. By accident. Since adult Matsunaga has very little memory of this incident he had no idea the tape would be pretty much useless. Unless teenage Matsunaga knew that Mei was going to have a dead people seeing eye.

This is pretty interesting news though. Izumi has been searching for the dead one the entire time yet what was she going to do when she found him/her? Tell them to be gone? I am not sure about Teshigawara’s ability to detect…well much of anything. So while it looks like he killed SOMEONE next week (my bet is on Tomohiko) he is not going to kill the right one. If it was that easy to find the dead one we wouldn’t have 1X classes full of MOGness right?

Photobucket

Care to elaborate more?

Izumi was all over the place in this episode. Her CRYING all over the damn place was not because Teshigawara was dead. I have been had. It appears her older brother was in Class 3 and he died due to the curse thus explaining her wanting to be head of countermeasures (also not sure what that is as….you can’t countermeasure a heart attack). But while she was having her moment of sadness she ran into Kouichi. You know the person who said he hasn’t been to Death Valley in YEARS. And he helps her off the grass after she nearly splatted herself. HMMM holding hands I see.

Photobucket

As your protector I feel that I should apologize for failing about 50 percent of you....

Photobucket

But it's all Mei's fault. So kill her so I can have Kouichi. Thank you.

But instead of giving Kouichi the side eye he probably deserves Izumi is like RARW I HATE MEI! Deep down it is probably because Izumi is jealous as she likes Kouichi but he is clearly on Team Mei. But in order to not look like a jealous crazy pants Izumi makes sure she has some reasoning for her hatred. I am surprised though Izumi called Mei out in front of the class. I am sure everyone is blaming Kouichi as he is the one who talked to the “ignored one” so maybe Izumi was like QUICK throw some blame on Mei. Oh to do this on an isolated class trip where some kids just learned that killing the dead one will stop everything….

Photobucket

Maybe Reiko is freaked out because she realizes that all these kids are STUPID!

Who the hell goes on vacation without their medicine? Who the HELL goes on vacation without their medicine that is vital to their breathing process?! AND WHO THE HELL GOES ON VACATION WITHOUT THEIR MEDICINE THAT IS VITAL TO THEIR BREATHING PROCESS WHEN A CURSE IS OUT TO KILL YOU?! Like seriously folks. He might as well being wearing a tank top walking alone in the woods. Does he want to die that much?!

Also if I was one of those kids the second I found out the phones were out I would be out of there. Not alone in the woods with a tank top but GONE. Yeah let me just stay in this isolated creepy place with the hysterical lady who is in charge of all the kids now.

This is all leading up to Mei. And how she has had all the answers since day one. She has been lying, withholding the truth, and had the potential to know who the dead person was from the start. Now while I realize that her telling the rest of the class OH HI I can see dead people with this eye and one of you is dead and the calamity will happen this year MIGHT have lead to some…awkward moments there was no reason why she couldn’t tell Kouichi. Instead Mei has decided her middle name is Kyubey and only gives out tiny pieces of information at a time. Maybe she is concerned that Kouichi’s head will explode.

Photobucket

I....how can you smile crazy pants?!

I don’t know how to discuss Mei’s home situation without my head exploding. Just….yeah. My kid died and you are poor so instead of helping your family out you will give me one of your twins instead? Then I will never let your kid visit you her aunt/mom or her cousins/mom and still not raise her with love? YAY MOMS! Although Misaka was super cute. Like really cute. And didn’t look creepy. I forget how she died but I wonder how the story would be if she was the alive twin and not Mei. Oh right the creepy eye.

Photobucket

I am pretty sure if my twin just died I would be crying all over the place. Then I become the ignored kid in school? No. Just no. Would be losing my mind.

Instead I will focus on the fact that Mei went along with being the ignored classmate despite knowing the calamity already started. Maybe she was still in shock over losing her sister and growing up in a horrible situation but she could have saved herself a lot of blame and aggravation. Like hey bitches my twin sister died before Kouichi came to town so stop blaming me.

Photobucket

Really a tiny little fact Mei forgot to mention until now....

Also I am not understanding how she took one for the team in terms of being the invisible student yet has not informed anyone of who the dead student is. Yes it was just revealed that if you kill the dead one you will stop the curse but surly she must have thought that information was important. Maybe she was scared a free for all was going to break out and kept the information to herself. Still the fact that Mei knows everything and yet is revealing it SLOWLY over time is making me crazy.

Photobucket

SAY IT QUICK!

And the interrupting before she announces it…RARW! Just RARW!

But the notion that she knows that Kouichi and herself are not the ghost makes me wonder. Why would a doll eye be able to sense when people are close to death or not? And if Kouichi has nothing to do with the curse why do so many things involve him indirectly? Izumi saw him in town a few years ago yet he doesn’t remember it?

All signs point to Aunt Reiko being the dead one. Maybe Kouichi doesn’t remember being in town a few years ago because it was for her funeral yet his memories has been altered because she is the dead one. Of course….an extra person would have to be a student right? Teachers are already there and assigned to classes and aren’t applied to the list right? Hmm more to think about and Reiko dying a few years ago goes against my other theories on when she died.

Photobucket

Err...guess there was no team meeting on who the dead one could be....

Overall we finally got to see the picture (which….it was obvious who the dead one was), Mei has almost completely told us the truth, and people are going to start turning on each other. There aren’t many people left to kill though….Small class reunion yes?

Another episode 9

Hello readers! I am alive and happy for that! I have decided that maybe I will be the mature adult in the situation and park my car somewhere else. As much as I want to be right and dance around in all the parking spaces…maybe…just maybe it is not worth it to be right. X__x I mean…people are waiting for me outside their houses after dark? Maybe I don’t want to park where I have been parking for 3 years anymore. Maybe I will just walk a bit folks. Walking never killed anyone but crazy neighbors have.

Maybe folks. Just maybe. But I am still immature on the inside and hope zombies eat their flesh. Although that might be a bad thing to wish for as I do live across the way from them…..Maybe I will just hire Daryl to protect me.

Photobucket

K-On!!

As amazing as Daryl is though I don’t think he can protect me from crazy curses, the ones that terrorize children in Japan. It must be Another time weeee! Not Mirai Nikki I see….BUT I AM STRONG! Spoilers for episode 9 bumping up the body count.

Photobucket

So.....time to find Clear River and lock ourselves up for 8 more months?

Episode Summary: The first few minutes of episode 8 are played again. But this time Tenchi is appeased as new dialogue was added to the scene. It was the other students (the ones who didn’t go to the beach) talking about how the curse can kill you out of the city. All while watching a boat run over their classmate. The voices (as we can’t see who is exactly talking) blame Kouichi for talking to Mei. Some of the mains walk home from the funeral with Librarian Chibiki in tow. When they go their separate ways Izumi takes a moment to glare at Mei. Kouichi and company march on with Chibiki shedding some light on the situation. Mei and her amazing spying skills reports that before John Doe died he was swimming fun. I thought he was simply….not swimming at all but Mei says he wasn’t swimming straight. Chibiki reports that John Doe had actually hit his head (possibly fallen down some stairs) and then went to the beach. So perhaps the rules have not been changed yet as John Doe suffered the killing blow in town and not in the water (as they report he was dead before the boat ran him over).

Photobucket

Mei is a very observant...or creepy.

In any event Kouichi wants to talk to Mei but has decided to confess his feelings of love until after he knows Mei isn’t the dead girl. Kouichi tells Mei he has yet to find the important picture of power. Guess he has other things to do. Later that night Kouichi has the best dream ever. Of course it is of all the dead people from this year thus far blaming Kouichi for their lack of life. He wakes up all upset and it is sad. Kouichi gets together with Yuuya and Teshigawara to tell them about the thing Matsunaga left behind in the old Class 3 room. Kouichi wants only them to go keep accidents to a minimum. When they arrive at school the next day they run into two drama club members from their class. They don’t want to help the boys find the curse and explain they were there to talk to Chibiki about drama club stuff. When waiting in the art club room they stumble upon Mei. Mei decides to join in on the journey despite knowing it could be dangerous.

Photobucket

Maybe you should worry now Mei...

The four kids continue to search the room, with Mei being creepy and small almost accidents that keep them on their toes. Kouichi manages to find the secret item (a cassette place) without getting himself killed. After finding the tape the gang heads over to the audio club room to locate a cassette player. To keep things creepy (and so they don’t get discovered) the lights are left off and they crotch to the floor. The tape begins with Matsunaga explaining who he is and how he thinks he can help future Class 3 students. He talks about how their teacher though going to an abandoned temple could pray away the problems. It did nothing to help and two students died on the mountain. Matsunaga starts to get nervous on the tape and there is a long pause before he can explain how he stopped the curse. A security guard walks by and this forces the kids to hide around the room. Teshigawara and his dumbass self manage to break the tape. He freaks out but Yuuya thinks he can fix things. Kouichi feels optimistic. Maybe he would change his tune if he was aware of what happened when the drama girls left the school. They bid each other a sad goodbye as they walked to their homes. Main drama girl got in a car with her family and they drove off a cliff after a rock hit their car. Her friend arrived home to find a large piece of machinery crashed into her house. She screamed out for her brother but as the viewers can see he died as he was wearing headphones and couldn’t hear the KABOOM in time. THE END!

I see now folks. It is all starting to become clear!

Or not. But in a fun way. XD

Photobucket

Don't worry guys. You can only die in town. It will be okay.

First off I like how the writers are trying to confuse the viewers. Like haha you thought you figured out who the dead one is. I am referring to the fact that most people were speculating the curse could affect people outside the city if the dead person was with them. But now Chibiki is saying the deadly action took place in town and it was a matter of time before John Doe died. So while the dead person could have been at the beach that is not why John Doe went to that unnamed character haven in the sky. Stairs are dangerous folks.

Photobucket

SO MUCH ANGER!

But dang Izumi. What the heck was with that glare?! Everyone was on the beach/entering the water to rescue John Doe. Why all the glaring at Mei? I thought there was some bonding going on the roof but maybe Izumi just said those things to get in good with Kouichi. Or maybe she meant that she didn’t blame Kouichi for talking to Mei…but still blames Mei. Or she is jealous. Lots of ors here people.

Photobucket

Just a dream dream dream....

I think that a lot of people are pretty upset that the dead people coming back were really part of a dream. I just assumed when I saw the previews for this episode that is what was going to happen. Sci-Fi pro here and all. But yeah we already had one fake out with the melting of the face dream so…yeah. Yeah folks. Maybe everyone was really looking forward to this being real or something. I would be pretty disappointed if everyone who was dead just started to come back. One ghost is what we were promised and this one ghost should blend in with the rest of the community.

So in any event I was not expecting that scene to be real so I am not disappointed that it was just a dream. I do feel bad for Kouichi though. While a lot of evidence has pointed to Kouichi be the dead one that probably doesn’t matter as the dead one is just a victim in all this as well. I just feel bad for this kid. He has suffered a lot before the show, losing his mom and having a sickness before starting the show. Now everyone blames him for this curse and as a result he is having horrible nightmares because maybe he blames himself too.

Photobucket

Let's not include the girl in charge of protecting us.

I am not sure why Kouichi wanted to leave Izumi and the others out of the hunt for the clue. I can understand that Kouichi wanted to protect people but as we saw at the end of the episode no one is safe. So if people are looking for clues or taking a bath they are equally as in danger. Usually I would be like YES looking for clues increases your chance for death and this is a good idea, to involve the least amount of people as possible. But when the danger is everywhere…not seeing the logic in that. Especially with the decision to leave Izumi out of the search. She is in charge of protecting you guys.

Photobucket

Creepy indeed.

I am starting to roll my eyes a bit when it comes to Mei. She just seems to be everywhere! People go to the beach, oh the family’s summer home is right there. People are going to explore the school, oh Mei wants to paint a picture in said empty club room. I think I might be okay with her creepy “Don’t worry I will be fine” moments because I think her eye allows her to see the dead one and maybe she has special protection around her. I am just not a fan of her popping up everywhere. It is not coming across as creepy or mysterious to me. But maybe that is because she is acting cheerful in the face of all this crazy.

I really thought we were going to wave goodbye to Yuuya. The way Izumi has been acting around Teshigawara leads me to believe he or she will die in front of each other (although looking at the previews next week I am thinking it will be Teshigawara to kick the bucket). It seems as if Izumi and Teshigawara have a bit of a story that deserves 5 minutes of explanation. Of course Yuuya has had a bit of a story going on with Reiko that hasn’t been explained yet either. But out of the 4 people in the room with the cassette I thought he was the most expendable. So surprise you live!

But probably not for long. Volunteering to fix the cassette tape probably sealed his fate. Maybe Izumi is crying over you next episode?

Photobucket

WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!

Teshigawara probably deserves to die. This show is set in 1998. What kid in the year 1998 would take out a running cassette tape from a player? I can see a kid doing that now as they don’t really understand how they work but really? Le sigh. And of course the tape broke after all the unimportant details. UNIMPORTANT folks!

Photobucket

Maybe this scarred him for life?

Ah yes the tape. Didn’t sound like a scared 14/15 year old to you did it? It didn’t sound like that to me but maybe I am nitpicky. In any event at least Matsunaga tried to protect future generations. He could have done so a little fast but maybe a kid who has just been through a lot needed to get his words out, to tell his side of the story. I like how he told them right off the bat that look, praying at that temple was a really bad idea so DON’T DO IT! He implied that it was something else he did later (probably killing someone) that stopped the curse. Implied because you know…the tape broke. So I am thinking that a trip to the temple is not in the future.

Photobucket

All so very interesting.

Before I talk about the obvious “fun” part of this episode a small detail might have been leaked from our two poor victims. Actress girl and actress girl’s friend were at the school when Kouichi and company were going to look for the magical item to help them out. They say no and go on their not so merry way. But before they do that they tell Kouichi and company that they were talking to Chibiki about a few issues. Turns out he is the drama teacher. HMM that is interesting. No one has mentioned that before and it is episode 9? All those dramatic moments in the library and it turns out he is a drama coach? And were these ladies really asking him about drama tips or were they asking about the curse? Interesting indeed.

Photobucket

I am thinking that won't happen.

But yes folks. To the WOOHOO part of this show. Which is called a horror anime, not a slasher anime. There is a difference. Of course I still enjoy the deaths because I am a crazy person. I really thought it was going to be the friend of the drama girl to die, not the drama girl herself. But when they had their sad goodbye on the street you knew someone was going to die. Actually when drama girl said GOODBYE (the ultimate goodbye in Japanese) to Kouichi I wonder if she knew she was going to die or she thought Kouichi was going to die.

Photobucket

The car went over the cliff pretty fast...

But no. Ms Drama girl and her family die before they can reach the city limits. I thought an entire rock slid was going to crush the car but it was just one rock. Guess the curse can’t be that obvious right? I guess technically she did die by some glass related accident. The friend isn’t dead…yet. Thought she was going to get crushed by the machinery walking home (now wouldn’t that be a mess) but instead her brother and the house were killed instead. Equally as horrible though yes?

Photobucket

So let's focus on the dead brother instead! Also...yeah no one has heard of this death town yet?

The body count is really adding up now isn’t it? Apparently it is nitpicky to talk about how this town has flown under the radar so long but whatever. I do think it is weird no one from the surrounding areas have told some government official that young people are being tortured in this town but I guess that is besides the point.

Photobucket

Everything is Kouichi's fault! XD

The point is….3 more episodes left! Who will die next week?! XD
