Kobato Drop 23 (a?)

Has it been a month already? It seems like it has only been a few weeks. Maybe all the weeks are blending together from work. My schedule is usually exactly the same so everything runs together. XO Boring adult I am.

But yes. It is time for another chapter of Kobato. Which rumor has it might be coming to an end soon. Not as soon as XXXholic :( but soon none the less. Which makes me a sad Tenchi.

However I shall be happy for the chapters we have now and cry later. Spoilers for Fujimoto having FEELINGS all over the place.

Just say it already!!!!

This chapter/drop starts off with Fujimoto still hugging Kobato. Hugs are very important in CLAMP mangas because there are no kisses. EVER. So hugs represent all the love readers are ever going to see. Because kissing would lead to….probably someone getting their head chopped off. XD So we will rejoice for hugs.

I still feel bad that Takashi doesn't get Kobato so...suck it Fujimoto. XD

Before Fujimoto can tell Kobato that he LIKES Kobato (because the love word is almost as rare as kisses) Takashi runs up to make sure everyone is okay. And to be a cock blocker. Even though we all know that CERTAINLY would never happen. So maybe he was a confession blocker. But I love this scene because Fujimoto doesn’t lose his cool like this. He usually yells or looks pissed off, not red and all embarrassed mad. I approve.

Why do you have to be such a boy all the time?

But then Fujimoto messes up. Because he is a boy XD Takashi mentions Sayaka and Fujimoto gets all depressed. Kobato takes that as a sign that Sayaka is Fujimoto’s special person and promptly forgets about the hug. Because CLAMP characters are at their best when they are depressed and loveless.

AWWWW! Baby Fujimoto is so cute and emo.

After Fujimoto takes Kobato back to her apartment (even though she JUST left it and it is still morning) he goes to the nursery. Sayaka is feeling bad about causing the whole situation. One wonders why she married a gangsta anyway but I guess you don’t pick who you love. Sayaka then starts talking about how lucky she feels to have Fujimoto in her life and it gets all sparkly and wonderful. I really love seeing baby Fujimoto. XD

Oh okay. That was really the right thing to say right now...

Sayaka keeps going on and on about how wonderful it has been to have Fujimoto in her life and without him she wouldn’t have been able to get this far. But now she wants him to go on with his life and not worry about her. In which Fujimoto promptly says he loved Sayaka. Because that is truly what one should say after hugging another girl. HMM MEN HMMM.

But I guess I see what Fujimoto had to say it. Sayaka was talking about the past and moving on so maybe Fujimoto felt as if he had to get that off his chest. That and he didn’t say it in front of Kobato. And to be fair he has not been all over Sayaka making Kobato feel bad. Kobato just can pick up on his lingering feelings because she is a woman and we know these things. So even though it is not what us fans wanted him to say it had to be said.

Even if it is a little weird given the age difference and that they were raised as siblings.

Sayaka handles it pretty classy though. I would be like…er.. okay. And maybe saying thanks is a tad bit hurtful but really what else could she say? Sayaka is also a woman so she knows that Fujimoto REALLY LIKES Kobato and that things don’t have to be that awkward. Or that Fujimoto had a childish like crush on her and Kobato is the real thing. But I like that Sayaka stopped Fujimoto from saying anymore so Kobato would be the one to hear Fujimoto’s first confession.

Back at casa de Kobato things are pretty sad. Kobato says she is going to the nursery tomorrow to help out. Which I think is really nice despite the fact I doubt she can do much. It is really the thought that counts though. Determination usually conquers all in CLAMP mangas so she will be fine. But it is still heartbreaking to see her so depressed. What is also depressing is that she thanks Ioryogi. Almost like she knows that her time is almost up. DON’T SAY GOODBYE!!!

Last time you yelled at God things didn't end well....

And things just keep on being sad. Ioryogi goes outside and receives another message from a messenger bunny. And the message is not good. It appears God is shortening the time that Kobato has to fill the bottle. Ioryogi thinks this is because it doesn’t matter how much time Kobato has, she will never be able to fill the bottle. Because she fell in love with Fujimoto and that was one of the few rules she had on coming to Earth.

To which Ioryogi is pissed. I mean I am sure he is pissed because that means his angel Kobato will go splat forever. But I am sure it also pisses him off because he has come to like this Kobato and generally God shouldn’t be giving out quests if they are unfinishable. Because that is now a word people. We all KNOW that CLAMP God will make this right and it will just piss people off for now. But yeah Ioryogi is mad and for good reason. It is nice to see him be upset about something serious and not just yelling at Kobato for being special.

Well folks. Time is nearly up for Kobato, Fujimoto is unhappy, Sayaka is about to lose her nursery, and Ioryogi is going to be responsible for the deaths of two innocent people. LIFE IS GOOD. Let’s hope things cheer up soon. But since it is CLAMP I doubt it. XD
