Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi Season Two episode 2

Today was a weird day at work. Like really weird. Is it a full moon? Customers were stranger, my boss was not acknowledging the great injustice that was done to me (okay slightly exaggeration there), and yet…something I never thought would happen…happened. In an angry way too. Like imagine someone got you a birthday present and instead of handing it to you they chucked it at your head. I had a positive thing happen to me but it was done in such a way that made me go X___X.

X___X describes my life on most days. Yay weirdness. And no one threatened me with a pizza in the face today. That is always a positive thing.

Oh snap! What is happening here?!

Up now is watching the kitten chase her tail for hours YAY! No? Okay then. It is Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi season 2 episode 2. That was a mouthful. Spoilers for the cat trying to lay on my computer while blogging and Christmas cake!

You took your present the other night!

Episode Summary: Ritsu thinks back to a happier time ten years ago. He was dreaming on how he would spend Christmas with his love. But now the harsh realities of the world have kicked in and now Ritsu does not have a blissful Christmas holiday. He is working his tail off to make the magazine deadline and that is slightly hard to do when no one else listens to him. Even reliable Hatori is at his wits end. When things finally start falling into place Ritsu is sent to the printers. On the way back Ritsu thinks to himself about the other night and how he thinks/knows he slept with Takano. But since Takano has Yokozawa none of this matters. Ritsu returns to the office to hear Takano and Yokozawa talking about birthday plans. The three start to make their way home but Takano goes upstairs to fetch something. Yokozawa takes the time to remind Ritsu that Takano is his and they are an item. Ritsu gets upset and goes home alone. He continues to be depressed and mopey as Takano tries to contact him (banging on the door and calling him).

Death to inconsiderate neighbors!

Ritsu goes to the office Christmas party where Takano tries torturing Ritsu. Afterwards on the train ride home Ritsu wishes Takano a happy birthday. Takano tries to be annoying and then he turns into a stalker as he demands Ritsu go with him on a car ride. Ritsu says no but is kidnapped anyway. During the car ride Ritsu admits to being tired because he dreamt about happy Christmas birthdays. Takano says he had dreams of spending his birthday with Ritsu a long time ago but that was just nonsense. Ritsu doesn’t think it was nonsense and gets himself all upset thinking about Yokozawa and Takano. He wakes up later to find himself alone in the car. Takano is outside in the snow looking at a gorgeous view. Takano says he wanted to show Ritsu this. Ritsu gets all weird and keeps talking about Yokozawa. Takano tells him to be quiet and listen. He did go out with Yokozawa for a short time but that was because he was messed up about losing Ritsu. But no matter what he has always loved Ritsu. Takano tries some kisses but Ritsu is not in the mood. But once they are in the car Ritsu gets all emotional about Takano and allows for sexy times WOOHOO. The next morning though Ritsu gives out an unsexy birthday present and pretends to only see Takano as a boss. Takano is amused and decides to torture Ritsu. THE END!

XO It is never fun watching a Christmas episode when Christmas is months away. What are animes thinking, trying to show the progression of a year?! WAI CHRISTMAS!

Kidding. I love seeing holiday episodes. Only instead of this one being super fun it was actually realistic. Some people get to take long vacations for the holidays. Others like our poor Ritsu get to spend a very minimum time away from the office and are tortured in the process. XD Yay holidays.

Deep down we all want a sparkling Christmas right? Also poor Ritsu for having his hopes and dreams smashed.

But yes. Sometimes the holidays aren’t so joyful for everyone. Some people have to work in essential areas of life (IE hospitals and such). Those are understandable. But some people have to work so people can go and buy their 75 percent off Christmas merchandise at Walmart. Liar face Walmart. They might be “closed” on Christmas but they make people work to get the store ready.

Well that paragraph was special and probably useless. What I meant to say is that I appreciated a real world view of the holidays. Sure they can be stressful with making so much food and cleaning the house and dealing with family members you might not get along with. But for some people they get a few hours away from work and even then they worry about the next day and all the work they missed because of the holiday.

People don't need days off. WORK MORE SLAVES!

Mangas/anime magazines are not essential to the being alive process. Yet deadlines are made despite what people want to do for the holidays because mangas are big business. Everything has to keep to a schedule or everything goes into crazyland. The artist has to constantly be working (which probably explains most of the “exhaustion cases”) and the editor has to constantly being on their butt because people are on their butts. No time for joy and cake, time for work. So maybe everyone will be more appreciative of December/January issues of magazines knowing how much extra work had to take place in those months?

Photobucket

Um yes. Yes you did. Thanks for acknowledging this obvious fact.

The person who had it worse in this episode was Ritsu. As if anyone else could top him. He had to keep everyone in line when no one really respects the newbie. Takano yelled at him for not knowing things he had yet to be taught. Takano is evil yes for giving Ritsu the responsibility of this particular issue? But I guess if he can handle the January magazine he can handle anything yes?

Photobucket

Yokozawa probably needs to move on with his life....

Yokozawa couldn’t be more evil if he tried. Really people I hate him. He can hang out with Takano. It is not his fault Ritsu happens upon…misleading situations. He can offer to buy Takano a present. He is free to be in love with the man if he wants to be in a one-sided relationship. It sounds like Takano was honest and Yokozawa is in denial. I mean….Takano doesn’t speak highly of their time together. Takano was hurting and probably hurt Yokozawa in the process. I don’t blame Yokozawa for being hurt.

Photobucket

Good job for being a crazy person!

But seriously dude. You are taking your hurt out on the wrong people. Ritsu just wanted a job. Hell he tried to run away from the job. He didn’t even know who Takano is. And after finding out who he was he tried to avoid him at all cost. So why do you have to constantly harass the boy? Of course he is jealous but part of me thinks that Yokozawa KNOWS Ritsu loves Takano and wants to hurt Ritsu. And what is the best way to hurt your rival is to throw your relationship in his face. It is just too cruel and petty. And his misleading words are annoying too.

I think Ritsu needs to do a better job of avoiding Takano. Of course he really doesn’t want to deep down. But I think he could get “lost” at the station. Granted it is not very crowded that time of night but I am sure it can be done with a quick OPPIES needed a drink. And stop being at home when Takano is out trying to bother you. Get a hobby. Go back to that library and read a lot. Just live there. Avoid the Takano.

But he can’t. Because then we have no show. Instead Takano is not (that) offended that Ritsu forgot his birthday and insists Ritsu spend it with him. Ritsu is slightly dense as Takano goes out with the rest of his co-workers but doesn’t mention his birthday. HMMMMMMM! That means you are special denial boy.

Photobucket

I guess in the end it was all about the destination too with Takano.

I really don’t find much joy in car trips. I mean…I had fun pretending (or really) be scared of the rural Georgia landscape. But usually I am excited about where I am going. I don’t think the act of being in a car is exciting. But I guess in JapanLand that might be different since not everyone has a car? Still I would want a bigger and better Christmas present.

Photobucket

NOOO! I want to see more!

Of course Takano did get some action in the car…..that we were not shown. Yay presents!

Photobucket

Not the thoughts Takano wants Ritsu to be having...

But being trapped in a car with Takano does not sound like fun to me. I get that he likes Ritsu but him forcing this on him is…well okay it is working. In the real world it would not be though. And it was boring. The view was pretty and Ritsu all blushy saying Happy Birthday was nice. I guess I can’t say slow down as the deed has already been done…..None of the paragraph applies now moving on.

Photobucket

Feel the romance.

Takano was honest though. Yay for brownie points. The constant back and forth misunderstanding was getting boring. So Takano was like whoa there fans. A few times I did have contact with Yokowaza’s manness but that is in the past. Now I just want to molest Ritsu. Ritsu might deny it but he is happy to know that Takano is not playing with him. Maybe not so happy at Takano’s reasoning for “dating” Yokozawa but if the happy times in the car are an indicator I think Ritsu will get over it.

Or not. Because the next day at work Ritsu acted like nothing happened. Or tried too. Takano knows the truth but I am sure deep down Takano wants Ritsu to just admit his feelings. That this is hurting him a bit. So Takano is experiencing a little of what Yokozawa goes through? Probably deserves it. These people are so dysfunctional. YAY HOLIDAYS!

Photobucket

He didn't even wrap it! Unheard of in Japan land!

And that birthday present sucked. I mean…I guess it is nice that Takano felt loved because Ritsu was looking out for his well being. But I will go with Takano original thought and say WTF? Indeed.
