Togainu no Chi Episode 2

Sad Sunday is sad. Mr. Get Tenchi an Event Mew aka the husband had to leave to go on a 3 week trip. My husband is in the military so technically I wasn’t even allowed to know WHERE he was going. But safe to say I probably have reason to worry….since I worry about everything to begin with. So yeah a little sad and lonely over. Will the three weeks fly by or drag on slow?

Drugs are bad mkay?

In any event I still have blogging and bad reality shows to keep my company right? And two demon cats of course. So let’s start this three weeks of loneliness with….a blood bath on Togainu no Chi. WOOHOO! Feel good anime there.

Spoilers for super creepy Rin. X_X like seriously folks.

The announcer was pretty annoying.

Episode Summary: Akira is still sitting on the ground in shock over Shiki sparing his life last episode. You know, with the censored massacre and all. But he picks himself off the ground and hobbles away. Akira and his soaked wet self make it to a dilapidated apartment building. He dramatically throws his jacket to the side and probably thinks about how much his life sucks. Someone breaks in and Akira nearly kills him…but it’s Keisuke WOOHOO! Akira is all like um you need to GTFO why did you come? It is obvious why Keisuke came but he says he is only worried about his friend. Akira gets quiet which Keisuke takes to mean he gets to stay so YAY! The next day Akira tries to leave Keisuke behind but Keisuke is like NO I want to go with you…so Akira gives him his knife. They decide to take a lovely walk around the city when they run into Rin, small little psycho blond, kicking someone’s butt. Rin decides to spare their lives as they are hot and make them his new best friends.

After talking briefly about his penis Rin takes them to the drug cartel headquarters Vischio. The palace is decorated with beautiful statues of naked boys who look pretty scared. Some dude named Arbitro runs things and Keisuke goes to talk to someone so he can learn about the rule of Igra. Akira and Rin stay outside where Rin acts special. Keisuke comes outside to say he will not be joining the game. Keisuke is all like dude why are you being nice to us Rin? Rin doesn’t have any real answer because he is crazy. As Rin is showing them around town they run into the Executioners Kiriwar and Gunji while they are executing people. They turn their attentions to Akira when the “dog” acts funny around him. Rin decides that acting gay with Akira will save the day and it does for some reason. Then he takes them to a bar to meet Motomi, some random dude who investigates stuff in this crazy place. Rin works for him and basically they are a pair. Rin decides that they need to take a picture to commemorate the day they met. Then Akira witnesses a man doing the drug Line and Motomi explains it is bad stuff. BAD STUFF MAN. Since things were actually getting serious Akira decides to go back to the apartment with Keisuke following him. Keisuke promises Akira that he will join Igra. AW! The end!

I don’t think Keisuke could act any more obvious about his feelings if he tried. Of course when you start off the first episode with stars in your eyes any time Akira is on the screen one would expect that feeling to keep on going. Keisuke doesn’t seem all that bright so we must focus on his pure heart. I am sure that pure heart will end up getting him killed but…yeah. Really don’t know what to say, he probably cares for Akira the most but Shiki will end up “getting him”. Sadness.

I think that Akira could have tried a little harder to make Keisuke leave. Toshima is not the place for him. Technically Toshima isn’t the place for anyone sane but especially someone who doesn’t have the stomach for a fight or feels comfortable with weapons. So while we were all cheering that Akira was being nice to his friend (well nice being indifferent which is how tough guys are nice) I think Akira should have been a little firmer trying to get Keisuke to leave. Like hurting his feelings now might keep him alive kinda thing.

Rin is a crazy psychopath.

So great with those first impressions....

What that is not a complete sentence? WELL FINE! Rin is a scary little crazy person. Although I do think he is being played by the wrong voice actor. Putting that aside he was acting….off. Which since I haven’t read much of the manga and only know the key parts of the game (I wonder which parts…) maybe he is supposed to come across as unstable. If that is what they were going for then WOOHOO you guys did a great job. XD

Keisuke asking the smart questions.

I do think that Rin came on too strong though with the whole HI let me show you around town and be your best friend. I know that the anime seems to be following the game/manga plot pretty closely but it was very random and out of the blue. Maybe trying to add in some comic relief in between the dead bodies and pools of blood? I don’t know but there should have been a better way to introduce us viewers the crazy concepts of this town.

I do like Motomi though. He didn’t have much interaction with Akira and Keisuke (I think Akira reached his stupid people limit for the day) but he seems nice. Old man indeed at the age of 4X. Again sane people probably don’t belong in Toshima. But he might be the mature people to keep all these crazy people together or something.

I thought the random introduction of the Executioner and their guard dog was special. Like over here we have our palace and over here is the bar and oh look, here are some crazy people treating a human like a dog killing people. Just very…in your face. But I did love that Rin was acting like Akira was his…love toy to get out of that situation. Again Akira seems to have been spared because he is good looking or something.
But what did the….dog smell on him? I wish to know.

So many moments.....

At the end of the day Akira was like okay spending way too much time with people. And despite the fact that people are being randomly killed all around him Keisuke has decided to join Igra. They will return to their broken down apartment building and all will be well. Until they meet more crazy people. Then it will probably suck. XD

Err....bring more weapons next time...
