K-On!! Season Two Episode 26: FINAL EPISODE!

Today was kind magical. It really wasn’t as we were short staffed but the reason why we were short staffed and what is going to happen because of it will be awesome. Or least it will be on Monday if all goes according to plan.

The truth about Mio is revealed! SHE IS A PERVERT!

And then I come home and the final episode of K-On!! is up and subbed? Happy days for me.

Spoilers for crazy girls and year book drama.

Okay this was a really cute concept....

Episode Summary: The episode starts off with another blast from the past. This time it is when Azusa first joined the club. Instead of welcoming their new member with open arms they decide to paint weird eyes balls and lashes on their faces. The point being when they take a group picture they will close their eyes and look like goobers. Or a big happy family I think. Back in the present (which is before graduation but after college exams) the girls are eating oranges. Not very exciting snacks if you ask me. Nodoka walks in with a sample year book. Sawako was supposed to review the yearbook for mistakes and such. Mugi and Ritsu pretend Sawako died to freak Azusa out but yeah teacher is home with the flu. Yui, Mio, and Ritsu look at their yearbook pictures and are less than pleased. Yui most of all. Yui begs Nodoka to change the picture and she is like no way dude.

Yui is so slick...

Nodoka says that Sawako has the power to change pictures so….yeah the girls volunteer to go to her house (since the seniors have no classes anyway). Ritsu is like bleh this is boring but then she realizes that they will see Sawako’s personal life so she is like TIME TO GO!!!!! Azusa acts weird but wishes them off. The girls get to the ordinary apartment place and Yui is disappointed. After being weird freaks the girls finally go inside Sawako’s apartment. She looks pretty decent for someone who has the flu but the girls go through her stuff and are nosy. Yui tries to get Sawako to change her picture and Sawako is like no way dude. There is a minor freak out over Ritsu’s hand but things recover quickly.

Hi sickie, we are here to eat your food.

The girls volunteer to do chores around the house while Sawako goes through the year book. While Sawako is worried Yui will poison her she looks at past year book pictures and smiles fondly over the memories they have created. Sawako’s old band mates show up because they were worried about her and the girls leave so Sawako can eat with her friends. They go back to school to hang out with Azusa but they find her and Ui and Jun practicing for the reception. Whatever that is. Azusa catches them spying but the other girls insist that Azusa practices with her friends. Azusa stays in the hallway as she plays them out of the school, creating the illusion that the girls are leaving school forever and this is their goodbye. Everyone say AWWW! The end!

XO So I think I apologize for being hard on this episode before I even saw it. I thought this was going to be a bleh episode that would end the series on a weird note. But I was wrong. It wasn’t the best episode of the series but it really holds its own when compared to the others.

Can I go back in time and have more fun in high school please?

I liked the opening scene, how the girls all played a really silly joke on Azusa. Right off the bat they were going to drive Azusa nuts. Not the best way to hold onto their new club member. Like hello we are insane LOVE US. I found the joke funny and I commend Azusa for not running to the hills because clearly these people are insane. Mugi holding the baby doll was awesome too.

And they are STILL picking on Azusa. XD

Also this is not set in the future. So we will never see an Azusa carrying on the club alone episode. Which would have been sad and lonely to watch. Instead it is set after the exams but before the last week of school. Yui’s bangs have grown back but that really doesn’t give us a good time frame of when EXACTLY this episode is going on.

Of course it is slightly magical that not only is Sawako a regular teacher and an advisor to two clubs she is also in charge of the yearbook thingy thing too. We have to believe in this because that is how all animes/shows in general work. No other teachers exist!

We demand a do over!!!!!

Ritsu and Mio need to sit down and stop complaining. Their pictures were pretty decent. Do you want to see my high school picture? Yeah you don’t. So Ms. Shiny head…there was no shine. And Mio…well you have a silly personality anyway. XD

MOG Mugi what is that face?!

I thought the girls were pretty silly about going to visit Sawako. Now that I think about it I think it is super creepy that high school students were given their teacher’s address. Like super creeped out over here. Granted this is a fun show full of happy smiles and good intentions. But in general NOOO! However I liked how they were imagining this glamorous life style of crazy and boyfriend shenanigans and Sawako lives in a normal looking apartment. She gets paid on a teacher’s budget people!

Pray a littler harder next time!!!

However Sawako looked okay to me. She needed to man up. Granted she didn’t know the girls were coming over and couldn’t prepare her I look like crap attire. Also being sick looks exhausted with that heavy jacket all sickies tend to wear.

I must be doing chores wrong, I never look this happy...

I do thought it was sweet that the girls were doing chores was sweet. Maybe not washing the underwear part but the other parts. Where Sawako was worried that Yui was going to give her food poisoning, that was cute. And the girls laughing and having a great time doing chores was nice. Because you know that really doesn’t happen in real life but K-On!! makes mundane tasks happy and worthwhile.

You ain't that old!!!

Sawako looking at the yearbook and feeling nostalgic was nice too. Given her age (younger than me and she moans about being old) when the girls first started high school that was her first year teaching high school. So for her a lot of things are ending too and it is a sad time. Now Sawako is going to have to go through more graduations than the girls so she has to get used to seeing goodbye to lots of people. But this is her first class and first special club so it was nice seeing her saying goodbye in her own special way.

Azusa practicing with Jun and Ui was cute. Ui should have been in the club the whole time as she has an ear/talent for music. And if Jun was really jealous of how much fun the Light Music Club was having she should have been in the club too. But they really show how much their care for Azusa by trying to help her save the club. I guess me worrying about Azusa being alone when the girls graduated was premature.

RUN FORREST RUN!!!

I love that the girls left Azusa alone to do her thing. It might have looked weird for the girls to leave Azusa while she was practicing their songs but I think they were doing that to help Azusa move on from them. She can’t rely on them forever and the girls realized that they have to let her go. Everyone go AWWWW.

I think this scene touches me the most.

I love how the series ended with the girls running through the halls. Yes it was cheesy as hell but it was a symbolic way of the girls leaving school behind. Passing the classroom, the silly animals on the stairs, and the statues outside. They saw them all and ran pass them with a carefree smile on their faces. They were racing each other and nearly tripping and having a great time. I don’t know how to explain it, the scene just made me happy and warm inside.

Goodbye my goober K-On!! girls!

So…now K-On!! is over. Well…except for the MOVIE!!! XD But for now..the show is over. I think it ended on a high note but without all the tears and sadness. This has been a great show and I have enjoyed blogging it. I hope everyone has enjoyed reading my posts and the series as much as I did.
