I am finally the star after all this time?! I am surprised!
As I head off to work let me get at least ONE blog post up. I am such a slacker lately. The Summer Anime Season is slowly ending and I am scrambling to catch up. GO ME! Up now is Yuru Yuri Season Two episode 11 time. Spoilers for Akari having time to shine?

This is why Akari thinks she has no presence? Oh silly girl.
Episode Summary: The girls are cleaning up the club room as it opening ceremony day and new students are entering the school. Akari and Chinatsu might become upperclassmen to new club members so Yui decides they need to clean. Kyoko decides that this is a waste of time but they clean anyway. They go into the closet and find a weird machine. They automatically decide it is a time machine and both Kyoko and Chinatsu fight over who gets to use it. Yui points out that Nana is probably the one who made the machine and it is probably going to blow up. Kyoko and Chinatsu run which causes Akari to fall on the machine and it disappears. The girls freak out and Akari is taken to the past. An entire year in the past. After finding out WHEN she is and eating some snacks in the club room she realizes she can reset all her mistakes and she will have a bigger presence in the show. She decides she will first fix her mistake about dressing casually to school on day one. Only Akari oversleeps and makes it to her house in time to watch her make the same mistake. She melts on the ground and her sister walks by. The sister sees the two Akari’s and probably dies from a happiness heart attack. Akari tells her sister what is going on and the sister believes Akari…mainly because she is in love with her. Akari explains how she has to make it to school to fix her weird introduction speech to her classmates.

Um have you seen my life? I must change it.
Akari makes it to the classroom in the nick of time and scribbles a message on her desk. Only when Himawari walks in she cleans off Akari’s desk so she won’t think that she (Akari) is being harassed. Past Akari is so happy while Present Akari is pissed. She tries passing notes to Akari on not to be weird but they get sent to Sakurako instead. Akari greets her classmates in a weird way and Present Akari is like…okay I still have a chance. Her next plan is to stop Chinatsu from arriving at the club room. She plans on delaying Chinatsu’s arrival to the club which will give her more time to shine. Chisato and Ayano think that Akari is lost when she is hiding in the bushes and they take her away. Chinatsu makes it to the club room on time and Akari is sad. Akari walks around in the school all sad where she runs into Rise and Nana. Nana says she doesn’t remember making this and doesn’t look like her invention but will trying and fix it. Even if it takes a while. Yay for crazy promises!

Cue the sappy music!
After Past Akari goes to bed Present Akari goes back home and talks to her sister than in a week she has one more chance to shine but she needs to hide out here to wait for that time. The sister is so happy as she figured Present Akari would need a place to sleep. The sister has cleared out all the creepy Akari stuff in her room and got the pair matching pajamas. They spend the night in bed where the sister points out that if Akari changes the past an entire year of memories will be lost/altered. That gets Akari thinking but she still goes to school to stop Ayano from interrupting her Akari Can Shine Speech. Akari makes it in time but thinks back to her sister’s words. She allows Ayano to interrupt Past Akari’s speech and decides her memories are more important than shining. Nana “fixes” the time machine which really just needed batteries. Nana, Rise, and the sister promise to keep all this nonsense a secret and off Akari goes to the present. Akari worries and has a dream scenario about returning to her time and no one caring about her being gone. But when she gets back she finds the entire class in the club room making Lost Akari flyers and crying. It is a touching scene…and then the time machine blows up. Kyoko then explains to the rest of the girls this movie idea she has had. Yui and Chinatsu declare it stupid and Akari cries over the fact she doesn’t even get a real episode devoted to her. THE END!!!

I get to be the star!!!!
Oh this show. Oh Yuru Yuri. Such insanity exists every time I watch an episode. I love how the main character of a show isn’t the main character, is aware she isn’t the main character, and when she finally gets an entire episode devoted to her (not just a segment) it is all basically a dream. Poor Akari.
Photobucket
SURE we are getting new students. I totally believe you.
But I am shocked that they are actually acknowledging a year went by. Of course…..in reality two years have gone by and maybe that is the joke. Kyoko is like PSHT no one is going to join our club because time is going to reset and we will all be back at square one. Of course she might have just been being lazy. I thought it was funny though. Like oh yeah a year has gone by WINK.
Photobucket
Oh snap no one is running to save Akari? :( Poor girl.
Since in the end it turned out this was a Kyoko movie should I really question why there is a time machine in their Amusement Club room? Maybe Nana really did create it but why would she store it in that room? Just weird. But since it is Kyoko’s version of some sort of movie I guess it can be understandable. It makes more sense now that we know it was a movie idea since Chinatsu just got done hiding in sad closet and didn’t see the time machine.
Photobucket
My life is so special. Thank you for believing me.
Of course Akari is the one who got sent to the past. She is not having a good year either. She needs to call up Mayaka from Hyouka and talk about how sucky their lives are. Of course I think Mayaka would have actually changed things while Akari decided all her pain and suffering was worth it. I think that Akari was the safe choice on going back in time. She wanted something very minor, standing out more. Chinatsu would have probably impregnated her past self with Yui’s baby, Yui would have made sure things were….boring, and Kyoko probably would have taken over the world. So Akari was the safe choice.
Photobucket
How about you freak out that you are IN the past?
Personally I might have freaked out a bit more than Akari. Like where is my stuff, I am walking home in strange shoes, and I am in the past. Of course it was only one year in the past so maybe that is why Akari wasn’t losing her little mind. But she had a snack and was like oh while I am here, with no way to return home, I might as well make sure I am the star of the show Yuri Yuri. Priorities. Akari has them.
Photobucket
What a surprise! You are about to make a mistake too. XD
There was several flaws in Akari’s Make Me Shine fix it moments. She should have set out Past Akari’s uniform for her. That might have involved breaking and entering but it could have worked. Instead of defacing the desk Akari could have written a note and taped it to the desk. And instead of waiting to ambush Chinatsu Akari could have written a note on the club house door, so she wouldn’t jump out of the bushes like a crazy person and maybe make the mistake of judging the direction Chinatsu was coming from.
Photobucket
At least she didn't kill Chinatsu?
Why was Chinatsu joining the club such a big deal? I am trying to remember but I am old folks. Old as dirt according to one 12 year old today. It is surprising I can remember where my teeth and walker are half the time. Chinatsu joined the club and Kyoko was like MOG I love you! Chinatsu was like MOG I LOVE YUI. But Yui remained normal and it wasn’t like Akari was totally ignored. She just wasn’t the center of attention she thought she was going to be. But I am not sure how making Chinatsu not join that day would make things better. Or how Akari would get her to join the club at a later date. That might have changed things up way too much.
Photobucket
So good indeed.
Akari’s sister toned down the crazy this episode. Which is slightly surprising since she is insane. But she hide all the crazy Akari merchandise in her room and didn’t molest the time traveler in her sleep. She gave useful advice and kept the secret from everyone else. So overall she wasn’t a crazy pants and I am surprised. Of course she didn’t get any sleep for a week but nothing happened to Present Akari so the sister gets a gold star this week.
Photobucket
So someone ELSE is making crazy inventions at this school?
Nana and Rise. It is always weird to see to see them since they add very little to the show. Since it was Kyoko’s special movie we don’t know who made the time machine. I was wondering about that but figured Nana just hadn’t made it yet thus didn’t know how to fix it. I am surprised that the machine didn’t blow up sooner though. Yay Nana and Rise for your little cameos.
Photobucket
Um...I would have done it. XD
In the end Akari failed at all her attempts to change the past but was actually going to succeed at her last chance. Like yes I have finally done something right! But…then she decided that she actually liked being ignored all last year and all those fun memories of being attacked by bugs or forgotten were worth clinging to. I see Akari. I SEE! Poor Akari. She rather be forgotten and almost invisible than risking losing…well her friends. The memories of all the fun she never had.
Photobucket
That and you are all crazy. But since everyone else is crazy maybe they would have believed you.
It is a good thing that Nana, Rise, and the sister decided that this should be kept a secret. Like yes who would believe you crazy people. Also time machines run on batteries. I see now folks. I see. Maybe Akari could use the time machine to find saner friends? XD Or make her sister less insane?
Photobucket
Oh were you missing?
Akari’s worries about returning to her correct time and no one caring…was probably the correct way of thinking. Like oh you’re back…well we ate all your snacks so sorry. Especially Kyoko. Ah my little Kyoko. So little caring, so little time. This is the present you were trying to protect Akari. Do you still think you made the right decision?
Photobucket
We all love you!!!!
But it turns out that all is well. 5 seconds before the time machine blew up Akari was loved. Everyone was crying over her and making posters. A beautiful sight indeed. Obviously Akari was in the right to save these memories if her friends care that much about her. We love you, thanks for keeping things the same.
Photobucket
You don't even get to dream in your own show. So sad for Akari. XD
And then the episode ends with it basically all being a dream. XD So the part where everyone cried over Akari being gone was fake. XD Silly Kyoko. And poor Akari who will never be the main character. Can this show get any crazier? Well there is only one episode left so I guess not. XD Unless it involves dinosaurs. Then I will change my mind.

Time travel? I thought this was a school-girl-slice-of-life show? So random :O

Off-topic: I hope your eye heals properly and you feel better :)

Anonymous- Thank you for the kind words about my eye. Still looks puffy and hurts. We are aiming for it to feel better by Thursday so we can enjoy Anime Weekend Atlanta. Or I can really go out and get a pirate patch. I can pretend to be badass. XD

I thought the time travel element was getting pretty weird too. I thought something was up when Nana claimed the time machine wasn't hers. Like even if she hadn't made it yet wouldn't she have plans for it? XD So while this show is crazy it has been grounded in reality. Well except everyone surviving explosions....
