Pandora Hearts Episode 15

Rarw. Just RARW!

Instead of watching Pandora Hearts the moment I woke up I watched the Harper's Island finale. -_____- Bad idea.

One by one.....

The ending put me in a terrible mood all day. I get way too involved in shows and when the endings are crappy I get upset. See I am not only critical on anime shows. So yes this post is slightly late at night. But I was nursing disappointment people! Pizza Hut could only cheer me up so much!

But this is not a post about the LAZY ENDING of Harper's Island. It is a post about Pandora Hearts and how their confusion explosion makes me happy. So on with the post!

Beware of seizures.

After Oz witnesses Alice’s death in her previous life and Jack tells him that Alice used to be human….Oz freaks out. Full blown X_X mode. Elsewhere in the tower Break is fighting the Cheshire Cat but for the first 10 minutes it is all about Oz and his freak out over this situation. The mark on his chest moves once and the dimension begins to crack. Oz glows a funny red color and everything turns into a techcolor mess. He wails on the floor in pain and is a shiny little glow stick. His outbursts keep destroying the dimension and everyone takes notice of this. Jack speculates the scene and information was too much for Oz to handle and now he is harnessing Alice’s power to destroy them all. Gilbert is not pleased with that information. Upon hearing Alice’s voice Oz gets up and attempts to find her. He starts hearing Alice’s words and seeing her visions from 100 years ago, but it all sounds like she was referring to someone else making a promise to protect her. Jack explains that Gilbert has to go calm Oz down or the dimension will be destroyed with them all in it.

Jack doesn't seem that worried...

Break is doing great against the Cheshire Cat and ends up cutting off both of his arms. Despite being in pain Gilbert walks around the mansion to find Oz. He locates him but Oz looks out of it and starts muttering strange things. He says he will destroy all that makes Alice sad, including her memories. Then he deducts that if Alice was dead she wouldn’t be sad at all. He then dances around and cackles that he will destroy everything. Gilbert then slaps Oz in the most undramatic dramatic moment ever. But that forces Oz to calm down and cry that he would say things like Alice needs to die. He passes out briefly on Gilbert who holds him tight. Back in the real world Vincent is playing chess with someone, talking about how Break fell right into his trap and soon Alice’s memory will enter the real world. Echo is also by his side. Break is suffering from using his Mad Hatter power but he continues to fight. He mocks the Cheshire Cat a bit and threatens to take the object that created this universe. The Cheshire Cat is not pleased.

Slapping cures hysteria every time true facts.

Oz wakes up and is still a bit sad about all he has done. Part of the wall collapses and reveals that Alice is tied up with chains at the top of the stair case. The Cheshire Cat loses his human form and becomes a scary shadow cat. Oz takes off up the stairs to save Alice. Alice is still floating in her thoughts about how she is more scared of herself than anything else and that she just wants to sleep forever. Oz states all the things about Alice that drive him crazy but they still make Alice Alice, whether she is a Chain or human. Her chains break and she floats down into Oz’s arms. Gilbert ends up catching the two before they go splat. After the brief reunion Break and the Cheshire Cat poof on the scene. A bit of comedy ensues at the fact that Break is so nonchalant about the situation. Break explains that the Cheshire Cat only had a human form to protect the one he loved. Break continues to think that is the Will of the Abyss when clearly it is Alice. But Break kills the Cheshire Cat and as he dies he calls out to Alice. Alice seems to remember him as she and Oz are separated from Gilbert in the fight. Sharon’s magical hell demon unicorn appears and only rescues Alice and Oz. They are blasted away as Oz demands to know the truth of all of this. Then he and Alice land in what appears to be a meeting with head Pandora officials, including his Uncle. None of which are happy to see B. Rabbit. The end!

Err....hello?

Another week another confusing episode of Pandora Hearts. But since I have decided that I will no longer try to figure out this series and just go with the flow it was much more enjoyable. Unlike Harper’s Island I might add (seriously Harper’s Island…seriously…).

Photobucket

Do not attempt to adjust your screen. It truly is that fuzzy.

Let’s start off with the bulk of the show, which was Oz having a massive melt down. His meltdown lasted about 10 minutes of the entire show. It seriously looked like an acid trip. Not saying that he should have been freaking out but he I guess it was just out of context for me. I understand seeing his friend being dead is sad and the knowledge that Alice used to be human is WTF territory. But he acted like Alice was dead now and the entire world was coming to an end. Crazy freak out was crazy.

Photobucket

Poor crazy Oz. :(

But I think we can chalk the freak out up to the fact we don’t know what Oz is. Yeah I said what. That freak out was too much just based on the fact that Oz is Alice’s Contractor. I think that something else has to tie Oz to Alice. I thought that before all this mess but changed my mind when I learned blond hair dude was Jack. But now Oz has fallen back into creepy territory. Or odd I should say.

Photobucket

MMMM curious!!!!

Perhaps the creepiest part of Oz’s freak out/escape from freak out is him saying the same words the Cheshire Cat did. Does that mean that Oz was also someone in Alice’s past. Seeing how the Cheshire Cat was really her pet cat we can’t rule out the fact that Oz might have been something nonhuman in her past. Or maybe Oz was a human like Jack. Whatever the case may be I found it interesting and special and full of confusion. Which is a typical Pandora Hearts episode. I just know Oz is too attached to Alice from just meeting her recently.

Photobucket

I think we're alone now...

And yes I am going to mention the yaoi moment in the episode. I wouldn’t be a crazy yaoi girl if I didn’t. The fact that Gilbert was way too upset over that minor slap in the face would have gone unmentioned but the scene after it…..classic yaoi moment. Gilbert and Oz looking into each other’s eyes, Gilbert wanting to make all of Oz’s pain go away….Yes my yaoi radar was going off in the midst of all the crazy Oz and Alice vibes. MMM angsty Gilbert and poor uke Oz.

Photobucket

Poor Cheshire Cat...but we knew the main characters weren't going to die yet.

I have to say I do feel sorry for the Cheshire Cat. :( I think when all is over and explained it will be proven that the Cheshire Cat is a victim of circumstances. He was doing this to protect Alice deep down. I know that it is contradictory with his comments on helping the Will of the Abyss but he was only focused on Alice and making sure she never had to relive these painful memories. Him getting his arms cut off and Break taunting him with his collar was a bit mean. Alice also seemed sad that he died in the end and realized he was her pet cat.

Photobucket

Yet not as special as Oz is right now....

Break is a special, special person. I thought we were going to get a little bit of his back story and why he lost his eye but I guess not. Vincent is from 100 years ago so it kinda….ruins my theory he took Break’s eye. Or maybe everyone in this anime is from 100 years ago and it is still possible. The point is that I thought we were going to get more information on the situation and we didn’t. Sad is me.

Photobucket

Insert crazy laughter here!

But Vincent is a little sneaky man who keeps bringing up his ultimate plan of evilness. I love how the bad guy always says things are going according to plan. Really? Really? He really was counting on Oz losing his mind and Break beating the Cheshire Cat? I think bad guys in general think they are really smarter than they are (a shocker I know). But Echo was standing there kinda creepy like which makes me wonder about Sharon.

Photobucket

Break is a special, special man.

The comical moments this week were funny..but I think they happened too soon after the sad moments. :( Of course the comic moments exist to break tension from the sad moments. But it felt slightly forced. They were still funny but…something was missing in my opinion.

Photobucket

The hell pony is too scary to show so have a screenie of Oz and Alice being cute.

Is there a reason that Sharon’s creepy hell unicorn only took Oz and Alice out of the dimension? I mean, the Cheshire Cat was killed. The dimension had stopped being destroyed. Why did the hell pony have to get out dodge so fast that he had to leave behind Gilbert and Break? To be dramatic and make the next episode much more dramatic? Yeah not buying that craziness.

But putting that aside this episode was pretty good. Confusing but good. Much better than the ending to Harper’s Island! Gosh I feel so robbed.

Anonymous- Maybe if there is a season two the clock will move more? Or at least I hope it does. Not that I want Oz to die. Just that it would have been really unnecessary drama if it never moved again.

The hero has to be cute (or at least a dork who is also cute) and the heroine has to be pretty. If these rules are broken the laws of space and time might break down. XD
