XXXholic Chapters 195-198

Does Mokona miss his/her other half?

It’s been a while since I blogged XXXholic manga chapters. I was going to wait until this new plot was finished but we are 4 chapters in now and it looks like it will be going on strong for a while. And chapter 198 ended in such a way that it tortures the readers.

Why do you make me suffer CLAMP? Why?

So instead of waiting that long here we are. Watching bad scifi movies and blogging about XXXholics. I party hard on a Saturday night people.

Spoilers, I have them. But you know you want to read them.

Kick her in the face now.

It turns out the intruder/visitor is the Spider Woman. I guess I was having a brain fart for not remembering her. That and she isn’t a very nice person anyway so why remember her. I am slightly disappointed that Watanuki didn’t kick her out on her eyeballing eating ass. I guess being the shop owner means that you can’t judge people. You are there to grant wishes even if they are the wishes from people who like to maim you. How wonderful.

Better than a guard dog.

So instead of having a Watanuki spaz attack and the Spider Lady getting what she has coming to her Watanuki invites her in. And Domeki is not there to protect his little shop keeper. But never fear, the pipe fox is still around and protecting Watanuki. I miss that little guy and the way he gives Watanuki little kisses. Watanuki seems to use the pipe fox for a lot of different things. These past 4 years Watanuki has grown use to other worldly creatures. Quite a jump from scared Watanuki to mature/capable Watanuki.

Maybe she is looking for personal space?

In any event Spider Lady wants something. The Crimson Pearl to be exact. Now back in the day Watanuki would be sent out with Domeki and Yuuko would take all the credit for completing the task. But Yuuko is gone now and Watanuki can’t leave the house. That makes gathering quest items a little more difficult now right? We all know that Watanuki has to stay in the shop to minimize his impact on the world but it is still rather sad and frustrating. Especially when you have a job like Watanuki’s. But as Spider Lady points out Watanuki can locate her item another way. Lucky him.

CLAMP is allergic to kisses apparently.

Since Watanuki is the owner of the shop now he apparently is obligated to take on her request. But that doesn’t mean he gets to be sexually harassed. I do not approve of this…..payment. Also you can’t give Watanuki something of his as a payment. Stop doing that people! Domeki better kick her butt later when it turns out the Spider Lady wants the Crimson Pearl for evil.

I guess Domeki gets a little credit for being less than pleased about this development. He also thinks that Watanuki shouldn’t take this job. Good for you Domeki but we all know Watanuki is a very stubborn boy. You and Mokona and Pipe Fox better do a good job of protecting his danger magnet self.

Look at Watanuki being cool.

Watanuki uses some special spider webs left by the Spider Lady to hunt down the Crimson Pearl. It is very reminisces of Yuuko back in her prime. Or you know….when she was alive. Domeki is there to watch this magical display and I found the scene quite pretty. Also yay for Watanuki wearing something different for a change okay?!

No one panic, this is supposed to happen.

The string breaks but it’s all good. Reminds me of when Yuuko used a string to hunt down Fei Wong Reed and his soul stealing self. I laughed a bit when Watanuki had to announce that the pearl wasn’t in the shop. Dur. But now the string can be used to find where it is located now. Yay for using magics and not explaining how they work.

Could you explain one thing before torturing me with more?

But during this little pearl seeking event Watanuki sees something. It is not clear what it is. A table cloth? Someone wearing a dress? Sakura? WHAT IS IT?! Whatever it is Watanuki is really alarmed at the scene. Domeki is also surprised as Watanuki has gotten good at hiding their shared vision. So is this scene related to the Spider Lady plot or something to greater plot? Must find out.

...It seems to me Watanuki still does the dangerous stuff no matter what.

Domeki has replaced Watanuki as the errand boy. But he isn’t reluctant like Watanuki used to be. His side kick is now Kohane as Watanuki is unable to leave the shop. They walk along talking about the wonderfulness that is Watanuki. They locate where the Crimson Pearl should be which turns out to be an apartment complex.

Domeki comes back like a good lap dog and reports to Watanuki where the Pearl should be. Watanuki remembers the apartment building well. He went there once on a previous case, the one where the woman couldn’t stop using the computer…….yeah that one. XD It was fun to see Watanuki reminisce about the good old days of Yuuko treating Watanuki like dirt and Watanuki just taking it. XD

Watanuki then reverts back to his new cold self. He tries to give Domeki the brush off, dismissing him from the shop. But Domeki hasn’t changed over the years. Watanuki always tries to push him away and Domeki sticks around. Partial to annoy him and partial because he LOVES Watanuki. XD Watanuki probably tries to push him away because he doesn’t want Domeki to be hurt. Doesn’t make it any less frustrating.

I have missed you little egg! Now tell me what you are supposed to do!

AND THEN IT WAS THE EGG! The girls run in and pull Watanuki away. Domeki is still worried about the situation and pulls out THE EGG! Finally I get to see that dumb egg that I have been having nightmares about. Well clearly Domeki has decided not to use it after Yuuko died. So its function is still up in the air. I WANT TO KNOW. You tell me now CLAMP or I swear…..Okay just tell me please?

Watanuki sees dead people.

Watanuki leaves the room to go into the dream world on the couch. He enters the apartment in question and it is torn up to pieces. There is a girl equal battered and bruised on the floor. Watanuki is a little surprised to see her but rationalizes that it will be okay since she can’t see him. Watanuki is sad to learn that he is wrong and mystery girl CAN see him. Insert shock face here.

Watanuki looks more worried than she does. X_X

I swear this girl looks really familiar. Since the series is set 4 years in the future she could be anyone right? That and CLAMP is sneaky. Good thing we know what Kohane looks like. In any event the woman doesn’t appear to want to cause Watanuki any harm. She doesn’t seem to realize that she is injured but knows how it happened to her. The woman asks if Watanuki is friends with the person who owns the room. Watanuki does his best not to look utterly confused. He also tries to focus on the mission at hand which I might have often about during the WTF is going on moment.

Yeah.....friends....

The woman uses odd language to describe her situation which is typical of CLAMP. Got to be careful with the words or else we the readers might guess what is going on. Watanuki gets a little upset when she casually mentions her injuries and talks about how she got them. He accidentally wakes himself up from his dream and is disappointed with himself. He tries to make sense of Spider Lady’s intentions and why the woman was able to see him.

I miss the spazzy Watanuki.

It turns out it is a good thing Watanuki woke up from the dream world. Maru and Moro inform Watanuki that he has a phone call. And guess who it is?! Himawari. I guess some people rejoice at her return but I am more like meh. She got in the way of the Watanuki/Domeki pairing and she is actually bad luck. I miss her bird though?

And end scene!

Watanuki is happy to hear her voice and they talk about mittens and such. Nothing too, too serious. It turns out that Himawari chose to go to a university far away and that is why she hasn’t been around lately. She hasn’t put her life on hold for Watanuki like Domeki did….which makes Domeki better XD Watanuki has done a bit of growing up since he didn’t totally spaz when she called. In fact he first had a very mixed expression look on his face. But then he starts bashing Domeki and all seems well in the world. Until Himawari wants to see Watanuki is person.

END OF CHAPTER! While Himawari might not be a point of interest of me I do want to know why she would ask such a question. Did Watanuki tell her they could never see each other again or is this Himawari’s way of trying to make Watanuki leave the house? Thank goodness the next chapter will be coming out soon because I don’t want to make a big deal out of nothing.

But the egg is not nothing. It is super important and I need to know what it is now.
So hurry up CLAMP and explain things to me. And Domeki protect Watanuki a little bit better from Spider Lady next time.

Ookami Kakushi Episode 5

Something horrible happened to you? Have a lovely parting gift!

Ah Fridays. The days where I have to get to work earlier, the customer at work tend to be more outrageous, and it is Ookami Kakushi day. So…..basically Fridays are my crazy day. So while most people look forward to Fridays sometimes I dread them.

X_X That is being pretty harsh on Ookami Kakushi right?

But at least with Ookami Kakushi’s craziness I have the power to end my suffering. If I ever feel like I am suffering. For now I will accept the confusion and chaos and roll with this show. For now anyway. Come experience the confusion with me!




When I watched anime and read manga I like to theorize the confusing parts to make it a little more manageable. And I think to myself that it will be AWESOME when it turns out that I am right. It would be awesome….but more often than not I am incredibly wrong and am probably mocked for my crazy ideas. So when the first few minutes played out I was kicking myself for being wrong AGAIN. I mean, I thought it was obvious that Issei was going to die so really was I actually theorizing anything?

Creepiest scene EVER!

The point being when the popo came to try to take Issei away part of me was very, very sad. Those scenes had promised me death! I spent an entire week thinking that crazy older brother was going to get hacked to pieces. Why do they dash my hopes and dreams so?!

Does he have a serious case of wiggle arms?

Then Issei gets killed at the end of the episode and I am happy. Then I realize that I am cheering because I was right that someone got mushed and at the end of the series he might have been an innocent victim. I’m a bad person.

Brb getting some cake. Then I won’t care about being a bad person.

Putting aside all that junk I was kind of interested in the Vigilance Committee. I was under the impression the “wolves” messed up in some way (which I still think has something to do with falling in love) and WHOOSH the flying crazy robed people and their ring leader hack their heads off. But now I see that these people are given warning to curb their crazy behavior. That totally makes the situation better.

And that means.....that being wolf is contagious? That is why kisses are outlawed?

Okay not really but it makes the flying crazies not so evil. Slashing people to bits is always a bad thing but we don’t know why they are slashing people to tiny pieces and now it seems they are told ahead of time slashing will commence if they don’t stop messing around. The Vigilance Committee might not be that scary or command total attention like mask wearing freaks but they are there to tell the whatever that they are here to help everyone and act in their best interest. They also don’t get to do the slashing. :( Not sure why that is a sad thing but it seems sad.

The Vigilance Committee also gives us a few tiny pieces of new information. Like Isuzu knowing about this whole mess. Yes I know that almost all the natives in this town must know about the wolf/orange/scythe thing but she was pretty convincing with her “I don’t know anything” personality. Surely someone so dumb couldn’t feign faking it so well right? Well she did and it should have been pretty obvious. I guess I will give her a little more credit with hiding the entire crazy truth of the town.

Must find my happy place.

Isuzu really shows her acting skills later when she returns to school. She has to summon her happy cheery side before she enters the classroom. She pushes aside the fact that her brother is a splat on the ground and that she soon could be next. Although she could have done a little bit more when it came to Hiroshi. She should have treated him the same, with the hugs and attention and the love. The cold shoulder was a little harsh and a sign that things weren’t right. Hiroshi confronts her and Isuzu tries to stick to the lie that her brother has moved away. Nemuru gives her THE EYE and scares Isuzu into temporary submission. But Isuzu can’t keep up the act for long and at the end of the episode she admits to Hiroshi that her brother is dead. She was probably trying to avoid Hiroshi because he would be the reason why she would be a splat on the ground but he is too sexy with his glasses and 5 foot 4 stature.

Hello there truth!

I really thought they were going to have Isuzu lie a little longer to Hiroshi. That Isuzu was going to have more to do with Nemuru than a hurt expression and a frighten presence. But that is for next week I suppose. I was under the impression this was going to be a 12/13 episode series so telling Hiroshi the truth halfway through is an interesting way to go. Of course if we had Hiroshi in lala land it would be kinda stupid and we would yell at him for being so dense. Besides the show is aiming towards a more let’s stop this continuous cycle of hurt rather than finding out a mystery you know? Or at least that’s what I think.

Let me ask you fellow new person about this town. It shall end well.

What else to talk about lalala. I think that Hiroshi could be a little more proactive in finding out information on the wolves and scythe girl. Asking the two new people in town is pretty stupid. Find your own library books or ask someone who has grown up in this town/seems trustworthy. ASK THE PERSON WHO BELIEVED YOU LAST WEEK. Hiroshi isn’t a very bright hero.

Crying so many tears for you...

The old town is brought up again. Isuzu brought up the fact that members from the old part of town and new part of town don’t really mix. My theory is the wolves still live free in the old part of town while the ones who choose to live in the light with humans must follow the rules or DIE. Which makes me wonder why Issei’s parents didn’t take their family back to the old side of town. Wouldn’t they rather their son be alive than living without him with humans?

Of course I am okay family. I love killing people. Pay no attention to my tears okay! Really I'm fine.

Nemuru basically admits to being the scythe girl. I think it is kinda crummy her family puts her in that situation. If they believe in these rules an adult should be doing the slashing. More of the random doctor and medicine is brought up. Isuzu even mentions capsules at this point. But no dude from last week which makes me sad.

So very tiny things get explained or at least touched upon. But more questions exist and I demand to know what is going on. Next week looks like a cat…wolf fight takes place. Hopefully some answers are leaked out during the process. Rest in peace creepy older brother.

Sailor Moon, My First Love

Would it be too cheesy to say this show changed my life?

Every anime fan has a special place in their heart for their very first anime. It was their gateway into this crazy universe that sucks in fans and churns out crazy people. Even if the anime wasn’t that spectacular of a show it still can be very special and often that person thinks that anime could do no wrong and sees it in a nostalgic light.

My gateway anime was Sailor Moon.

I am pretty sure I have mentioned that somewhere on the internet or maybe it is just obvious to me. But Sailor Moon is the reason that 14 years later I am still an anime fan. Nothing can ever live up to the magic of Sailor Moon (except Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles the manga) and it’s probably pointless for anything to try. XD


I can still remember the days of running home to catch Sailor Moon on Cartoon Network. Despite the fact that the English version butchered the series I still looked forward to every single episode. I also remember lying to my friends about why we had to walk home so fast. I converted them to Moonies soon after so it’s all good. And how long has it been since I thought about the word moonies?

My father likes to take credit for my anime obsession. And I guess in a way he does deserve it. Granted I was watching Sailor Moon on my own I really thought it was just another cartoon on TV. A really great one but not anime. On my 14th birthday (I think X_X) my father bought me Sailor Moon comic number one. Not the graphic novel but the tiny little comic version of it. Enter a very excited Tenchi who had no idea what a manga was. It was the beginning of the end. Or the beginning of the beginning.

Excited with my new manga I went on our brand new computer (now an ancient dinosaur) and found out as much as I could about Sailor Moon. All the spoilers (as Japan was more than halfway through the series at this point), the manga pictures, the weird fangirls. It was all awesome. It wasn’t so awesome when my dad went ballistic when I killed the ink cartridge three times while printing every single manga pictures. Serves him right Mr. Taking Credit!

While hunting down the Sailor Moon manga I became familiar with other mangas and learned how big this anime/manga world was. I also learned that the Sailor Moon anime was much more awesome in the original Japanese. I also might have bought one or two…or 16 bootleg copies of Sailor Moon S and Super S. This was in the day before instant downloads and every anime site uploading episodes start from Japan okay. DON’T JUDGE ME!

So 14 years later….I still have not watched the entire series yet. I must be the worse fan ever. I shall use the excuse they stopped showing it on Cartoon Network, the place where I was buying the naughty bootlegs from disappeared, and I spoiled the series for myself. Once I found out the ending the intensity to watch the whole series decreased. Yes I am the perfect fan.

I have decided to right this terrible wrong I have committed. I can’t very well preach the awesomeness of this series if I haven’t seen the entire thing right? That and I need to finish things that I start. Sailor Moon is my gateway anime and I love it. So it’s natural that I would want to/need to finish this series.

So I shall watch Sailor Moon from scratch in its original Japanese. Maybe if I stop watching so many useless reality TV shows I will have time for 200 episodes on top of all the other anime I want to watch/seriously behind on.

I have already started working towards my goal. Zomganime has every single Sailor Moon episode fan subbed and ready for viewing pleasure. Thank you Zomganime. I thought it would be difficult to find a series most people consider ancient but my website of choice has them. Happy blogger is happy.

That being said….there is something weird about watching the episodes in Japanese. I watched all of S and part of Super S in Japanese uncut. But the first season and R I have only seen the American version of. So despite how much I thought I hated the voice actors and the cuts I find myself remembering Usagi’s American voice and how the background music didn’t seem so lame. In fact most of the background music is really out there and doesn’t mesh well with the scene at hand. So American version…thanks for making the transformation music and fighting music a whole lot less lame.

But they were lovers. Not cousins. You shall never be forgiven for that offense.

So despite the fact that the start of the series isn’t as magical as I remember it I am still happy. Perhaps I have been a bit spoiled with the newer stuff that Sailor Moon just looks old to me now. Maybe it is hard for me to look past the flashback to the 80’s music. And definitely a certain useless male who tosses flowers around seems 100 times more annoying in the original. That and I’m not 14 anymore. Things should change 12 years later.

But I am still happy. I shall ride out the iffy animation because I know this series gets much prettier. Yes some voices remind me of nails on a chalkboard but maybe that is part of the endearing part of the show. And I shall try my hardest to get American Luna’s voice out of my head (despite the fact I like her meanness in the American version a lot better than less evil Luna). I will remember the excitement I felt running home to catch the newest episodes. I will refind that bit of magic that is lost in my childhood. I will dust off my Sailor Moon wand and annoy my cat with the random noises it makes, just like I did 12 years ago.

Yes my cat is older than dirt.

And yes I do still own TWO Sailor Moon wands.

Hopefully my post has inspired someone out there to watch Sailor Moon and see how anime really invaded America one Sailor Soldier at a time.

But if anyone calls Sailor Moon an overrated classic I will be busting some heads. One Moon Spiral Heart Attack at a time.

Kobato Episode 16

I don’t think I could have imagined a more perfect Kobato episode. Well aside from the last one where her wish is revealed and everything is explained and the audience goes NOW I get it. Other than that this episode was wonderful.

No really, thank you.

I think I have been doing a good job on the whole not talking about not talking about Kobato manga information until it is mentioned in the anime. I am not perfect but I think I have done a decent job. So when the bazaar manga chapter was seemingly passed upon there was a lot of pouting in the house of Tenchi. Or maybe it just seemed like those manga chapters happened forever ago given how long it takes the chapters to come out. It felt earlier to me anyway but looking back now this issue happened in volume three so it wasn’t forever ago.

In any event I have decided that I deserve a gold star for not mentioning how sad I was that there was no bazaar. So now that it has come WOOT for the bazaar!

Kobato has oodles of sympathy for people.

I guess the reason that the bazaar wasn’t mentioned was they were waiting until after the Sayaka fainting incident. They were really playing up the fact that the debt has taken its toll on Sayaka and this is all stressful and serious business. Kobato doesn’t catch on fast to most things so she needed something serious to happen for her to remember the loan shark incident and how people sometimes suck.

No not bizarre silly.

In any event Kobato remembers that she is here to help out the nursery and part of that is fixing the problem with the loan sharkness. Since Kobato isn’t the scariest person on the planet she can’t go the bully route so she has to go the paying off the debt road. After getting….the entire idea from the land lady and her nonrobot kids Kobato decides they can raise the money by throwing a bazaar HURRAY!

My name is Kobato and I have a great idea!

Kobato being Kobato she can’t wait to run this idea by Sayaka. By run I mean she announces that this is what she has to do and this is the best idea ever. Keep on being that positive person Kobato.

My name is Fujimoto and I have gone too far this time...

Fujimoto being Fujimoto decides that this idea might not be the most profitable and might be a waste of time. By decides I mean that Fujimoto stomps on Kobato’s tiny fragile heart and tells her she sucks at life and she needs to stop suggesting stupid things. Never change Fujimoto.

My name is Sayaka and I like to make excuses for people.

Sayaka being Sayaka tells Fujimoto he needs to stop sucking all the fun out of life and to stop putting Kobato down or her will grow up alone and bitter. By tells I mean she smiles and passes off Fujimoto’s harsh words as him really caring about Kobato and that he is not good at expressing himself. Go easy on the sugar there Sayaka.

They are happy tears.

After Kobato runs out all upset and acts like everything is her fault Ioryogi is the one to say comforting words to her. In a way Ioryogi is like Fujimoto in that he is always teasing Kobato and blasting her down a peg or two. But in Ioryogi is a plushie and I like plushies so I like him more. Not that Kobato needs comforting since Sayaka has decided to have a bazaar is an excellent idea despite just telling Fujimoto this plan is made of fail. I get wanting to make Kobato happy but Sayaka has to be realistic. Oh wait…

It is amazing Kobato don't worry!

My favorite scene of course is the Mysterious Life-forms. Of course it involves Fujimoto being mean to Kobato again…but I see this teasing as just that, teasing. Not him trying to be explain something in a mean way or totally killing her self esteem. Just some silly teasing. Because those were some special drawings. I like them don’t get me wrong. But they were….mysterious.

Sayaka makes a little slip up as she is describing Fujimoto. She mentions that Fujimoto is like someone else which makes the question marks go off in Kobato’s head. Kobato also proves to have a good memory as she recalls that Sayaka has mentioned her husband before. Slowly this plot is coming together people!

Of course Kobato freaking out is cuter still....

Then we go into the kids. Bleh I know. An anime about a nursery talking about kids CRAZY TALK. Some random kid makes some random stupid item to keep the rain away. Do not care and also girl sounds like a dude. I thought it was cuter when Kobato was running around town hanging up posters at past friend of the week stops. XD

Almost a sexy vampire?

As Kobato leaves work she runs into *insert scary music here* the loan shark. Since we all know who he is I shall just use his name. Okiura is waiting in the shadows so his creepy factor can go up 67 percent. Does anyone else think that Okiura looks like Kamui? If Kamui was older and more cocky than cynical? Well in any event Okiura has very brief words with Kobato. The usual I am closing down the nursery, tell Sayaka that I am a major butthead, and that you all better leave before I do something really bad. Kobato handles this well considering she flips out often and this situation actually warrants some flipping out. Then Okiura returns to the shadows because he is just that awesome.

-_- Thanks for using your size to scare a young woman. Go Fujimoto.

Now the only weak part of the episode for me is when Fujimoto confronts Kobato after finding out that she has had contact with Okiura. In the magna the scene was a lot more powerful and it made sense. In the anime it was too brief, the music was off, and there wasn’t enough build up to the let’s show Kobato how much of a man I am by pushing her against a wall. Let’s not do that again okay Fujimoto or I will shove you down some stairs. I hate violence.

Kobato is a super detective!

Kobato, my dear Kobato, finally puts two and two together and realizes that Okiura is Sayaka’s husband. Maybe that is a little too much to ask since we the manga readers have known that for months (a year?) and Kobato…..is Kobato. But now she does get it and realizes the situation is twice as sad that Sayaka is getting shaken down by her husband.

I would definitely buy them!

The best way Kobato can combat the situation is to make penguin plushies. Of bunnies. Or lumps of nothing. Kobato is just that awesome so roll with it.

Poor Kobato always blaming herself....

So it is the day of the bazaar. And despite that random kind making those sunshine ghost things it starts to sprinkle. Still the kids set up their junk and food and wait. And wait. And wait. NO ONE SHOWS UP. Not even the kids’ moms. Hello ladies, you could have just gone across the street to read a magazine and come back a few minutes later. You all suck. Kobato starts feeling bad about causing the situation, Fujimoto does his best to not do the I told you so dance, and the kids are sad. Sayaka is off in dream that it will all work out.

Don't run after her and help her or anything....

It comes to everyone’s attention that Okiura has torn down all the flyers for the bazaar and that is why no one is showing up. Of course this makes no sense because Okiura wants his money right? Why would he stop Sayaka from trying to pay off her debt? HMMM people that must mean he really is trying to protect Sayaka from something horrible and he is actually a good guy. No one is a bad guy in CLAMP YAY!

Woot for people not looking so creepy now...

So while everyone decides that the bazaar is fail Kobato doesn’t give up. Even after Fujimoto grabs her and tells her not to go. She runs off to the busier parts of town and manages to round up every single friend of the week. Some normal people end up at the bazaar too. The kids are happy, Sayaka smiles I told you so to the crowd, and Fujimoto is in awe of Kobato’s awesomeness.

Does anyone else hear that sad music?

So as you can see with my many words and lovely pictures….this episode was awesome. It had a little bit of everything. Manga plot that I thought was forgot, Fujimoto showing his mean/nice side, Kobato saving the day in her own special way, and no filler friends. Add in the fact that Ioryogi has gone off to do more plot related stuff and Tenchi is a very happy blogger! I love this episode so very much and shall snuggle it and keep it and call it perfect.

Kobato Drops 19 a and 19 b

Today I had a very productive day! All the laundry is done, the house got vacuumed, the cabinets finally have food in them, and 6 out of 8 rooms are guest ready! I got my clean on and am happy with the results.

So being as I was really bust today I thought I blog Kobato manga chapters. The recent ones haven’t had much plot to cover so I thought it would be easy on my tired brain. That and I don’t think I can wait any longer to talk about the beautiful art! I was trying to hold out so I could blog three chapters together thus covering more plot but I got impatient.

So it shall be spoiler time and graphic heavy under the cut. And yes I am well aware that my chapters were off from the last time I blogged Kobato manga chapters. The source I got the images from were off because of the lack of splash pages so everyone was confused. Deal with it. XD Onto the beautifulness.

Now this is what I call singing for your supper....okay no more cheesy lines.

Kohaku is still hanging out with Mr. Bear after picking up Shuichiro’s snack. Her payment for the meal will be singing and Ginsei is in total awe of her awesomeness. It is kinda nice to see Ginsei have a heart. I am sure he really does have a caring soul deep down but he has probably been hurt in the past. That and he was raised by Ioryogi. XD

But before Kohaku can leave Ginsei decides it is time to ask really personal questions. Not sure I would be so bold but Ginsei is. He has heard from Kohaku that she has stuck around Shuichiro for five reincarnations and he is curious on what Kohaku would do if the new reincarnation didn’t chose Kohaku. Really I am curious too. She is so devoted to this man that she is willing to put her heart on the line so many times. Of course this is the CLAMP universe and she and Shuichiro are obviously meant to be so there is no reason for her to worry annnnnnnnnyway.

How bout no?

Kohaku gives the standard CLAMP answer in return. That she would hope the person would pick Shuichiro and that she would be happy for them. Because Kohaku is not me and thus she is apparently awesome and wonderful and understanding. In any event I am not sure why Ginsei was asking Kohaku this question. Was he asking because he truly was interested in Kohaku or was he interested because perhaps Ioryogi was in a similar situation and that is what got them into this huge mess? Not sure if we are going to find out any time soon.

Way to break the ice.

Now during all of this Kobato is still staring at Fujimoto. Fujimoto catches her staring at him and doesn’t catch on to the serious mood she was creating. He insults her for being late and she turns into Ms. Apology City. The way they usually communicate. I almost like them better like this because when the mood gets too serious I worry about poor Kobato being confused.

STOP MESSING WITH MY MIND!

Fujimoto grabs Kobato’s hand to refer to her cell phone and utters something that makes NO SENSE at all. My conspiracy ridden mind thinks right away that Fujimoto KNEW someone who looked like Kobato before. Or even that he knew Kobato before but she has lost all her memories thus no remaining traces of that person. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?!?!

Maybe Fujimoto already gets it......

Ioryogi definitely gets it.

Kobato continues to stand there being very confused. Fujimoto starts to feel a little uncomfortable and backs down from his aggressive barking around. Kobato then decides she needs to sing. Fujimoto gets that pretty shocked look on his face. Yeah I said pretty. Fujimoto is pretty get over it. XD

Fujimoto tries to cover up the would be serious moment by bringing up Kobato’s lateness but we all know that he thinks something is up. He isn’t that dense right? Also he likes to get in digs wherever he can.

While CLAMP might be slow on plot they never fail on the beautiful art.

With Fujimoto on the organ Kobato starts to sing. All the kids smile and think how pretty the song sounds. Fujimoto remembers hearing Kobato’s voice from before and it s a little surprised. Also Kobato said she wanted to sing so Fujimoto would understand how she felt. So he should be sensing Kobato’s feelings for him. Because he isn’t dense right?!

Fujimoto...being concerned?! Shocked and amazed!

Kobato finishes singing and everything thinks all is well. Except she is crying. And she was about to tell Fujimoto how she feels but Sayaka ruins the moment. CURSES! What were you thinking woman! :( Fujimoto also might have gone have gone up to Kobato and comforted her had Sayaka backed off. But no he can’t be nice with an adult audience around. Kobato tries to brush off the crying as no big deal and makes her way outside.

Why do you have to be so pretty all the time?!

But it’s not okay. Kobato comes to terms with the fact that she likes Fujimoto and the reason she gets all flustered when he teases her is because she cares about him/how he views her. It is truly a big deal to her since she is a confused person to begin with. I never like seeing Kobato sad but there is something pretty about the way she cries.

Now she might be crying because this is all overwhelming for her. But the more likely factor is that she was told she was not allowed to fall in love with someone she was trying to heal. She has. That will surely affect her wish but hopefully in a positive way. We don’t know what her wish IS so maybe staying here with Fujimoto will be better than her trying to get to a place to see someone who apparently died.

However…with that weirdo statement Fujimoto said earlier I wonder if this rule became a rule because Kobato wasn’t supposed to fall in love with Fujimoto specifically. This is CLAMP you know. And if Yuuko is involved Kobato might be in deep doo doo trouble. So I am very worried for my Kobato and I am not sure I have reason to be yet. Just preemptive worrying on my part.

So to alleviate my worrying CLAMP should make the chapters come out faster. It’s not like they are writing Tsubasa right now! Get on it and make Kobato happy!

I need more than blushy faces to be happy! But it helps.

January 2010 movies

In December I made a huge long post about all the movies I watched in 2009. I say all but I really couldn't include every single movie I watched because 1) I forget a bunch of movies (mostly scifi ones) and B) the post would have been super duper long. And I tend to be wordy anyway so that would have been fail.

So I am going to try to do something new. The 1st of every month I will try to post about all the movies I watched the previous month. I say try because sometimes I suck at scheduling my free time and I am a slacker. But for now this is my plan.

Each movie will have slight spoilers and any thoughts that ran through my mind while watching said movie. These will not be complete synopsizes by any stretch of the imagination. Just what I thought of the movie and whether it will be a waste of time to watch it yourself. Spoilers people okay!

Also a note these aren't movies that came out in January 2010. A few did but most of these movies are just what I decided to watch last month. Since I tend to stick to horror movies not many movies come out in a 30 day period that I find interesting. XD Because I refuse to try new things.

The Uninvited

The Uninvited-Most movies that are based on Japanese Horror are usually inferior to the original and face harsh criticism. The Uninvited is not one of those movies. Perhaps because it changes enough to make sense to an American audience. But the twist at the end was a great twist and I never saw it coming. The dialogue was smart enough to work for the delusional reality and the actual reality. This movie is also a great public service announcement on why someone shouldn’t cheat. You will lose your entire family and be married to a money grubbing nurse who will leave you as soon as the money runs out.

Paranormal Entity

Paranormal Entity- See in Cloverfield when the guy holding the camera didn’t drop the camera it made sense. That’s because a giant monster was trying to kill him. The camera became an extension of his hand. In this movie the brother filmed his sister nearly drowning in a bath tub. With no shirt on. Why would you tape your sister’s naked body? The only time he dropped the camera was when his mom cut her wrist.
Other than that he kept on going when crap happened to his family.

Also the crap wasn’t that scary so maybe that is why he didn’t drop the camera.

Also if you knew your brother was taping your entire house why do you insist on sleeping nearly naked every night?

Drag Me to Hell

Drag me to hell- She KILLED her baby kitten. Her cute innocent tiny kitten! WTF was wrong with that girl?! Don’t get me wrong, grandma was as a psychopath who creeped me out every second of the movie and Stu needed to be shot in the face. But she KILLED a kitten.

Did she deserve to die? No. Lame boyfriend who was lame the entire movie deserved to die for making such a mistake. The ending was lame though. It felt really forced instead of being MOG shocking.

Knowing

Knowing- Since I enjoy spoiling movies for myself I knew the ending of this one before watching it. I am just that awesome. So I wasn’t TOO disappointed that everyone died in the end and everything was pointless. Because it was. You send warnings out to people to give them a fighting chance. What these alien angels did was just tell people when the end of the world was and did nothing to help. Thanks a lot alien angels, wouldn’t want you to actually save 99.9999999 percent of us. No just save a hundred children who can’t pass down any of our culture and history to the next generation. Thanks unhelpful angels.

I kinda felt bad for the main character. He thinks people are coming to steal his son and he is trying to figure out a way to save the entire world….or just himself/his kid and there is nothing he can to stop it. So it is all pointless and cruel and sad. Have I mentioned the alien angels suck? Next time alien angels give your message to someone who doesn’t play with barbies.

Daybreakers

Daybreakers-As I said earlier in the year Daybreakers was better than Twilight. And the amount of violence in the film was about right for a vampire movie. The guy exploding because of a test product was a bit much but I thought the puking part was grosser anyway.

But I think the story was a little weak once two cures were introduced. More time should have been focused on making the one cure make sense, not randomly throw in another cure without any scientific explanation. I did like the animals being vampires though but I was sad that they caught on fire :( And the vampires were pretty stupid for not figuring out a solution to their problem way before things got really bad. Serves them right the idiots.

28 Weeks Later

28 Weeks Later-Dude. Fastest acting virus zombie movie ever. You get bit and 10 seconds later you are a zombie. I can’t remember the last time I saw a zombie movie turn people into zombies so fast. And yeah I am saying zombies. SUCK IT! ZOMBIIIIIIIIIIIIES!

That being said….dude. Harsh military people are harsh. But since I am always yelling at people in horror movies to stop making stupid mistakes I should commend people for acting intelligently. Yeah it is really harsh that the snipers were told to take out everyone running from the building but I rather a few people die so everyone else can live. In extreme circumstances people have to take extreme measures.

That being said….stupid military people should take better measures to protect people instead of just having tons of measures when things go bad. Turning off the lights when crazy people are noming people? Gassing the city second? Putting everyone into one area that isn’t even sealed properly? :( More planning next time. And by next time I mean 28 months later.

The Echo

The Echo-This movie was really, really long. Two days later I couldn’t even remember what it was about. But after refreshing my memory I remembered it was really, really long and drawn out over some really simple stuff. If there was supposed to be complex imagery and deep meaning it was lost on me. Just a guy hearing someone get beat up constantly and how he failed to be a decent human being half the time.

Maybe that was the scary part of the movie. How everyone sucks in a time of crises. But if that was the case the ghosts should be killing the people who didn’t do anything to help at all. Not sure what the garage guy and other neighbor did that warranted killing them. But the movie felt like a huge waste of time.

Alien Raiders

Alien Raiders- This movie was halfway decent. I wonder why I didn’t hear anything about this movie until I searched for “Horror movies 2009”. The graphics weren’t that great but sometimes you don’t need the most expensive technology to make a good movie. And sometimes things are scarier when they are left unseen. Like the monster in Jeepers Creepers.

There was a bit of The Thing factor in the movie but sometimes you have to borrow from the classics. It is hard to be completely original nowadays. I thought it was very nice of the alien exterminators to provide their subjects with ways to retrieve their cut off fingers later. A little more insight on what the aliens wanted or how the aliens took over humans would have been nice. But the suspense was great. Just the ending was a little bit predictable. XD

Shutter

Shutter-I watched the original version and not the American because I am cool like that. Or maybe it randomly came on one of my movie channels one night. It stays true to the Asian Horror theme and concentrates on the emotions rather than the MOG scary. In these cases the boring scenes actually mean something and it’s okay to be a little boring. Because it works.

But WTF with the guys raping the girls and taking pictures so she won’t talk. X_X I understand cultural differences and all….but still. Dude. I like that she got revenge on all of those guys but I think she should have killed him too. I guess he got his punishment in a way but sticking around with this loser seems like punishment for her too.

Boogeyman 3

Boogeyman 3-Homegirl was really slow in figuring out it was all her fault. I mean…she was talking about how legends need to spread from person to person and that is how it gains its strength. So how was it hard for her to realize…that is what she was doing? But good job saving everyone in the end with your The Descent like blood stained self. Also good job cops for just standing there while she gets sucked up the elevator shaft. Wish you could come to my rescue one day.

The washing machine scene was the best. It was so fake, stupid chick didn’t run TO the door, and the water doesn’t gush out the door. And those kids spent so much time studying for exams. MMM movies about truthful college life.

Wrong Turn Three

Wrong Turn Three- Seriously. Boobies in the first minute of the film? That is like a new record. Okay maybe Carrie tops it but seriously. And people’s legs cut like turkey. Instead of cutting at the ankle they rather carry some feet around in the darkness. These are some really brilliant criminals.

I am trying to write about this movie but all I can think about is the very, very lame ending. I can see having one person do a huge personality switch but two? For no damn reason? You are fail movie for sure but that just seals the deal for me. Go to the corner NOW!

The Burrowers

The Burrowers-I was a little weary of this movie because of the western feel to it. But I was bored and for some reason no one had the Decent Part Two up so I went with this movie. Don’t I sound devoted to this movie?

I think the suspense of the monsters has a nice build up. Which is good because they aren’t THAT scary once they are revealed. Sorta like Jeepers Creepers 2. But I guess if I was getting nomed by a weird ground monster I would be freaked out too. And I think the fact that everyone is going to die based on some racist decisions is pretty awesome (well I guess if you aren’t the one getting nomed). I feel bad for the main character since everything was pointless in the end and there is a sense of hopelessness to the movie. But the concept of the monsters was pretty cool.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning- The opening scene was so gross. Words do not express how gross I find some things. Seeing how people lose their faces in this movie series you think I would be able to suck up some birthing grossness. But I can’t. And it makes me want to barf. But I can’t decide if the vagina chunks from the last movie were more disgusting than this.

I watched this movie thinking I knew how it was going to end since I had seen the original (being the one that came out a few years ago). But I was wrong apparently. I found the kids more likeable in this movie for some reason. They had better character development anyway. I didn’t like the development of the crazy family though. But do serial killers really need character development to explain why they are crazy?

The amount of torture is increased in this movie which almost takes away the horror aspect of it. However I really do need to stop watching these movies at 2 am. I apparently like to freak myself out.

Meteor Storm

Meteor Storm- This movie was so boring I started to clean my house while watching this mess. It came on back to back with natural disaster movies which I find boring to begin with so maybe I was already in a bad mood. But I really don’t know what happened so I guess I can’t review it? Except don’t watch it XD

Ice Twister

Ice Twister- Again a beyond boring disaster movie. But this time humans created them. Go us! But I like how the frost killed some people even before the twister reached them. Awesome.

NYC Tornado Terror

NYC Tornado Terror- Okay I hate disaster horror movies and I have no idea why I torture myself and watch them. I really liked the random electricity/balls of energy having artificial intelligence and attacking people. Or maybe it wasn’t so random and I wasn’t paying attention. That is probably it. In any event skip this movie.
