Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun episode 4

Did that all just happen on The Walking Dead? I had something else written here but yeah. Had to erase it because I am having way too many feelings on this episode. X___X So many feelings. Spoiler alert: Daryl is still okay.

Poor pops still being in denial.
Episode Summary: Exam scores are in and Haru is at the top of the class. Shizuku is busy melting in the corner because Haru has beaten her and Asako is busy sobbing because she has to take make-up exams and that will ruin her summer plans. Shizuku marches herself to the teacher’s lounge and demands a better grade. The answer in question has something to do with love. Shizuku has a cynical answer and the poor teacher who just got dumped has a more romantic answer. Shizuku eventually gets her points and tries to go home to study more. She passes Haru who succeeds in scaring a bunch of girls with his face. Haru doesn’t completely understand but Shizuku suggest smiling instead. Haru tries this approach while doing various things and the girls notice how much…cooler and nicer Haru is despite the things he still says are rough. He becomes super popular and surrounded by girls all the time. Asako eventually accuses Shizuku of being jealous. Instead of denying it Shizuku accepts that she is in fact jealous and that her life sucks. Also it is field day and Shizuku isn’t exactly the best player on the team. During this field day event Souhei has a moment with Shizuku, talking about Haru protecting a kid in middle school by fighting. He seems to hope this doesn’t happen again but that hope is short lived. While girls are all on Haru they are neglecting their duties leading to one girl Chizuru being left to do all the work.

Maybe keep the threats to the boys?
Eventually Chizuru is picked on in front of everyone and Haru comes to her rescue in a violent way. Instead of being the hero everyone including Chizuru become scared of Haru. He runs off upset while Shizuku tries to make things better and says he doesn’t seem like a bad person to her. Upon the promise of spending time with Shizuku Haru pulls it together and wins his event. This means the gang plus Misawa go on the most amazing camping trip ever. I think there is some fishing and…other camping things. A bit of Shizuku and Haru bonding. But they return home after a bit so the camping fun ends OH DARN! Haru goes upstairs…and then quickly runs away. The others try to see what he was running from and it was his brother Yuzan. Yuzan talks to them warmly and while Shizuku thinks something is up she might just think he is weird like his brother. Everyone else seems happy and pleasant. They leave Haru’s home and Shizuku is jumped. Haru pulls her into an alleyway and wants to talk. Shizuku wants to do the natural thing and talk about Yuzan which makes Haru mad. Shizuku thinks that Haru just has a brother complex like Yuzan said. Haru replies that he actually hates his brother. Haru eventually ends up at Shizuku’s house because he wanted to smash watermelons and they didn’t get to do that on their camping trip properly. He sees that Shizuku is always doing kind things for him and taking care of him and wants to repay her. She blushes and decides that she wants a date as compensation. THE END!

Haru has priorities too!
I think watching an anime episode and then trying to blog the entire thing the next day is a bad idea. I should at least tried to blog the synopsis before I went to bed. X___X Clearly I was way too tired to watch anything as thinks are drawing a blank. Bad little anime watcher/blogger.

Pay no attention to the details I suppose. Exams, field day, then summer break?
I was a bit confused when Shizuku was talking about studying hard over summer break to beat Haru…and then it went right into field day. I thought it was actually summer time. Unless this field day crap was taking place DURING summer break. Which would be horrible. Let those kids have their holiday! Unless of course I am visiting Japan/Tokyo Disneyland. Then the kids need to stay in school. XD

I'll never be number one!
Is this going to be an ongoing theme, Haru beating Shizuku at tests? It does seem to shock the other classmates who seem to be surprised that Haru is doing well in school. People who glare can be smart too. I do think that Haru is naturally smart. I mean it would make sense if he studied all the time because he has no friends (or no friends prior to this) but yeah…I just think it comes naturally to him which makes Shizuku a bit….special.

Change this or else!!!
So special that she marches herself to her teacher and demands a better grade. I have done that a few times in my life. Of course…it was usually because our teachers were dumb and we all got marked off on a multiple choice test. Like hello the right answer IS C and we all put it down stupid! But in Shizuku’s case it was more a matter of personal preference and not a black and white answer. Black and white? Time to play more pokemon. No no…was Shizuku right? Hard to say. I do know that teacher has had it rough with those crazy kids. Can’t blame her for giving Shizuku the points and crying over being dumped.

Don't judge him so harshly.
While Haru is a rather rough character I think I can sympathize with him. I am often accused of being a rough person because of how I talk. To me I am talking polite or at least cordial. But to others I sound harsh. I don’t mean to sound that way to people…and maybe people are just too sensitive. I think Haru suffers from the same problem as well. He doesn’t know he comes across glaring and evil looking. HMMM sounding Host Club up in here. So yes. I do feel bad for Haru as he doesn’t really know what is going on. Doesn’t excuse all of his behavior, only some of it.

Well and anime magic?
Shizuku isn’t really that much better when it comes to social situations but she gave Haru some sound advice. Or obvious advice. Add in some anime magic and Haru is now popular and Shizuku is suffering in the corner from jealously. I don’t think that Haru changed all that much. Goes to show you that if you are cute sometimes the domino affect can work wonders for you. MOG did you hear Haru is now cute? Yeah so don’t mind all the weird things he does. In fact all those weird things are actually cool now!
Photobucket
Don't mind me, I am useless and jealous now.
So field day….bleh folks. BLEH! It should be a volunteer type deal. People like Shizuku fail and are probably made fun of and it brings back bad memories of gym class for me. :( While I do think Americans as a whole probably need to get more exercise…not all of us are cut out to do sports and such. Volleyballs are hard folks, especially when they hit you in the head. Give her a break Asako….not everyone is great at sports. I will “jog” alongside you Shizuku…to the couch so we can watch some TV.

Wait didn't we already confess to each other?
While Souhei and Haru were doing well in their match he (Haru) needed a little encouragement to take the match to the next level. It is sorta interesting to watch these two. Usually blushy faces are going on yet no one confesses until the very end of the series. Yet both of these characters HAVE confessed so it is cute seeing how they react to every little thing. Go Haru and win that game!
Photobucket
:( That was a bit sad.
Despite becoming a champion Haru suffered a little bit of a set back. He was becoming more popular in school and people were talking and befriending him. Yet Haru saw a girl being mistreated and had to come to her rescue. Haru really doesn’t think before he reacts and I guess that is part of his charm even if it is violent. I do think that Haru needs to stay out of fights that are girl on girl. Said victim in question Chizuru looked like she needed rescuing but then she ended up looking afraid too.
Photobucket
Guess that Haru doesn't remember it was Souhei.
Haru started off his middle school career by beating someone(s) up because they were beating on a kid, sorta like how Haru started off his high school career. I think it is pretty clear that Souhei is the kid that Haru saved. That explains why Souhei approached Shizuku and got involved in this craziness. Souhei is okay with Haru’s rough behavior as he knows deep down his heart is in the right place. Shizuku has seen Haru suffer because he has been misunderstood so she forgives his harsh behavior too. It was a little sad, Haru was just trying to help yet he has only learned to fight with his fists.

Yay camping.......
The camping trip was boring. But that is because I hate camping. Why would you want to be outside with the bugs and lack of toilet paper when you could be inside watching TV and having running water? Also fishing trips seem to involve fish and I don’t like fish. Instead for me then! But it looked like they all had fun even if they were outside with the internets and shopping. Haru got what he wanted and there was bonding YAY!
Photobucket
I sense you are up to no good. But I sense everyone is up to no good so you know...
So clearly when they get home there has to be drama folks! What was the drama this time? Yuzan was waiting for Haru and Haru took off before anyone could understand what the heck happened. I guess Yuzan is just an older brother and not a twin. While Yuzan was acting nice I still get the feeling Haru isn’t being overdramatic and there is something up with dear brother. I would point out that Shizuku feels the same way but she is suspicious of everyone so you know….
Photobucket
Oh snap Haru glaring...and meaning it!
Haru needs to learn a better way to get Shizuku’s attention than grabbing her in alleyways. I would be screaming and tazing him and kicking him in the balls then would go OH I know you…sorry. Funny how he waited all this time for Shizuku in the alleyway but got a little upset when Shizuku asked some questions. Haru…why wouldn’t she ask questions? Ha to have emotional and social issues.
Photobucket
Yes why is that.....
So it seems that Shizuku is going to try and solve the mystery between the two brothers. And the whole way through she will probably be protesting that she doesn’t want to help at all. At least she doesn’t have to worry about Haru being popular right? Just that one girl Chizuru will probably change her mind and like Haru. Because that is what girls named Chizuru do, ruin people’s lives! Did I cover the whole episode? Oh wait dad was acting weird at the beginning…was that important?
