Kuroko's head looks like a football? Does that count?
Happy SuperBowl Day. I hope your team won and you ate lots of awesome snacks and watched cool commercials.
Did that sound sincere enough? Because to be honest I could care less about football and have no idea who was even in the Super Bowl.
I spent most of the day marathoning The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I only took a break to watch the newest To Aru Kagaku no Railgun episode. I wish I didn’t. Come experience the disappointment with me.
The writers of this series are handing out individual episodes to anyone who bothered to have one scene the entire time. Thank goodness that didn’t happen in To Aru Majutsu no Index or I might have had to jump off a building or something. Even when Touma was helping out other people he seemed to be point and center to make everything better and be the hero. If he wasn’t there he wouldn’t have had the chance to make epic speeches.
But this is Railgun, the series of boring characters with their boring problems. This week the character doesn’t even get a name! How awesome is that? She is simply referred to as Dorm Supervisor. Nothing screams importance like not having a name.
How uncalled for...
In any event Kuroko gets in trouble because she breaks a rule and she calls the Dorm Supervisor names when she is punished. Heaven forbid someone who enforces stupid rules have to follow other stupid rules. OH THE IRONY. I was going to go on and on about very sexist the entire OH Dorm Supervisor is going to die alone and she is passed her prime and blah blah blah. But this is Japan, the place where if you are 25 and not married you should just throw yourself off a bridge and save yourself the heartache. While it still sucks to have that kind of mindset it makes sense culturally why teenage girls often make fun of single women in their late 20’s. Hopefully things will change soon but yeah. Not a fan of Kuroko going on and on but things can’t change overnight.
People spending their days off doing nonwork things? SAY IT AIN'T SO?!
So Kuroko and Misaka decide to stalk Dorm Supervisor because obviously a woman with a day off from work must be up to no good. How dare she have a social life! But it turns out she doesn’t have an amazing social life. She is really volunteering her time at some orphanage. Less than scandalous if you ask me. And I find it amusing that Dorm Supervisor can’t be nice to her own students but goes out of her way to be nice to random little kids.
Let us not utter that phrase again...
WTF IS A CHILD ERROR?! We call kids with no relatives orphans here in the real world. Not some stupid lame name that makes the kid sound like a mistake or something went horribly wrong in an experiment. I mean that would make more sense, to call CLONES (coughcough) or experiments gone crazy Child Errors but kids who have no parents? That was really random and out of left field. I hate kids and think the name was in poor taste.
Okay I just went to wiki to research the phrase Child Error to make sure I wasn’t going off into crazy land and this is what it says: “Child Errors is a term called for children who were sent by their families to Academy City but later their families stop paying for their children education, disappearing and abandoning their children. With no one to care of them, the City Administration took them in and placed them in the city's orphanages. Despite the city's good will of taking care of the Child Errors, there are some officials who despise them as they see the children as nothing more as a waste of funding.” And now…I am even more upset. These kids HAVE parents who are lame ass losers and they get called Errors? There is no way for the Academy City officials to hunt down these deadbeats and make them suffer? Also DIE PARENTS. This whole situation is making me rage and it’s just anime….
I often lie about how evil I am to strangers too.
For some reason Uiharu and Saten are at this ORPHANAGE watching the kids with their homeroom teacher. Daigo is a young teacher who also likes to take care of the POOR KIDS. So the real reason why Dorm Supervisor is helping out at this school is to get closer to Daigo. That makes me feel better about the whole situation because I didn’t really see her being that caring and loving. Or maybe she likes kids and hates teenagers.
Because Kuroko has fallen in love many, many times and has world of experience.
Once Kuroko learns that Dorm Supervisor has a soul she makes it her life mission to set the two up. Apparently being in Judgment means she is a super duper match maker. She is better than certain reality show match makers that’s for sure. So since Uiharu and Saten have to be at this random school for forgotten kids they agree to help Kuroko out. And Dorm Supervisor must be really desperate to seek help from el crazy.
I'm glad someone else has a problem with this too.
Misaka isn’t really in this love matching making business. She is picked to watch all the kids while the matching making is going on. She actually starts thinking of Harumi and understands why she went through all of that dirty business to save the kids.
I hate cooking too no worries.
So I hate this man....
The actual matching making is boring since they made the Dorm Supervisor completely incapable of acting like a normal human being. She saves some random kid from a killer rice maker and Diago asks her out to dinner to ask her a VERY important question. It has to do with marrying someone who really younger than you. Dorm Supervisor assumes it is about her and Kuroko starts dancing the dance of success.
That was...super unexpected?
It turns out the Diago wants to marry the woman who runs the orphanage. She probably isn’t THAT old since animes often portray relatively young parents as having wrinkles. But she is probably a good 15 years older than Diago. She isn’t a cougar which makes me happy for some reason. However since Dorm Supervisor really went out for Diago it is really sad that this stupid man put her through all this, how brain dead can one person be?
Take a breath and find that fake smile.
Dorm Supervisor puts on her brave face and tells Diago that she is happy for him. I am sure the woman who runs the orphanage will be super surprise in any event. Kudos for Dorm Supervisor for being able to keep it together in front of the kids and not embarrassing herself in public. She deserves to have a long cry later with a tub of ice cream. Oh and also she needs to resume beating on Kuroko. XD
So……what was the point of this episode? I mean it was slightly better than the last episode but what is next? Is the waitress at the restaurant the girls always go to going to get an episode? The vending machine? THE CAT? I really need some plot related episodes here people and I need them soon. My patience is wearing thin.
