Sandra Diaz-Twine wins Survivor again!

I couldn’t be more pleased!

Well my final three ideally would have been Sandra, Colby, and Stephenie but since the Heroes tribe was made of such fail at the beginning I had to change my votes. For a while I was cheering for Rob just so he could crush Russell. That didn’t pan out. So I decided it Colby, Jerri, and Sandra, three people who were sorta on the outs with their tribe, could make it to the end I would be happy with whoever won.

But now I know watching Parvati and Russell lose to my girl Sandra was way better than anything I could have imagined.

I hate Russell. Hate him. My brother asks me how I can hate people from reality TV shows (looking at you Kenny/Fresh Meat and Jill Zarin/Real Housewives of New York City). I know it is not very logical and all these reality shows edit people in certain ways. But there are just no words for Russell.

Okay there are words. But it is hard to get a word in edgewise since he is always talking about how great and wonderful and magical he is. How on Earth can someone thing so highly of themselves in their first season? Every single day during Survivor: Samoa we had to listen to how awesome Russell thought he was. Every single confession. Every single thing Russell did was the most amazing thing ever. It turned into the Russell show. I thought I was going to throw up.

And then, like two minutes later they brought Russell on another Survivor. I had happy thoughts though as we just saw Russell’s devastating lose to whatsherface. But still…I didn’t want this to become the Russell show again. But it did. I had hope for Boston Rob to cut this little troll down to size before things got too interesting but Tyson had to do something stupid and ruin it all. Seriously Tyson way to go. So when it became apparent that Russell was NEVER going to get voted out I prayed he would make it to the final three. Prayed.

And my wish was granted. Russell made it to the final three and didn’t get a single vote (or at least I don’t think he did, didn’t see the last vote). But still, after almost 80 days of listening to Russell talk about how awesome he is and that he is the best player of all times he walked away a loser both times. I love it when justice is served.

To all you Russell fans out there HA! Praising Russell like the sun sets on his bald head. I LAUGH AT YOU! If Russell was the best player of all time he would have won. I don’t understand why people think bullying others and demeaning women equals great game plan. It doesn’t. I am not saying that everyone has to be a saint playing this game. It is impossible. But Sandra has proven you can be….harsh with people and still get their votes. Russell knows how to get to the end yes. But he doesn’t know how to get jury votes. He said so himself. So he can’t be the best Survivor ever.

I could go on and on about how much I hate Russell but quite frankly I find him boring. Let’s talk about something else.

I kinda hate reality shows that have previous contestants on them. There are outside connections that ruin the game like Stephenie said. People who hang out in Hollywood and enjoy being C-List celbs. So automatically people are already in groups making it harder for the older crowd to make it far. That and they already know how crappy it is going to be. It is more fun to see how brand new people adapt to the crazy game.

This season also changed my perception of some previous contestants. I really enjoyed Tyson and Boston Rob this time around. Even if Tyson was a massive idiot. JT didn’t come across as innocent and sweet this time which slightly disappoints me. James is a huge, huge jerk. I wish Stephenie made it much further but I like that she stayed true to who she was. Colby…:(.

But I love me some Sandra. I hope I am like her when I am her age. Parvati has always gotten on my last nerves but I rather her win the money over Russell. I can handle flirting and stupid smiles over trolls and bullying. Not that any of this matters as Sandra won. XD

Some people might call Sandra’s strategy weak or that she only rides coattails. Whatever. She tried to make big moves people. She tried to get Russell out all the time. It is hard to do that when JT is running around giving out idols as birthday presents and no one is listening to you. Sandra strategy isn’t coattail riding anyway. It is “three more days”. As long as her name is out of your mouth she will vote however. Is that a bit wishy washy? Well when you are not in a position of power sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Either way it has worked for her TWICE now so I guess at this point it doesn’t matter what people think of her strategy. She is a lot richer than most people whining and crying that Russell didn’t win.

In conclusion: Yay. This season started off pretty bad for me as one by one my favorites were voted off. I do feel bad for Colby. He didn’t play like he used to but I wouldn’t call him pathetic. I think the line between Hero and Villain is a bit blurred but I think for the most part people were on the right tribes. I would have loved to see some other Survivors in place of the ones they cast on this season (Danielle who?!) but I think the cast was pretty decent.

And Russell didn’t win. That sounds so magical to me. Such a beautiful sentence. Russell lost again. After all his bragging in confessionals and acting like he was the big man on camp(us) he lost. Again. So wonderful.

Congratulations Sandra. You deserve it.
