Angel Beats Episode 12: FINAL EPISODE

Angel Beats! is over.

Photobucket

Time for tears people!

Did I really just type that? I did and it is really sad. It seems like just like yesterday the series started and everyone was excited. But at the same time I feel as if this show had so much left to show us and it can’t possibly be over. Mixed emotions are mixed!

So here we have it. The end of a series that has sparked fans, haters, and people merely along for the confused ride. On with the show for the last time!
(I want to see the not shown episode NOW XO)

Photobucket

Yuri has lost her mind. What a great way to start this episode.

Episode Summary: Yuri wakes up and sees Hinata, Otonashi, Naoi, and Tenshi. It appears when Yuri met with her dead siblings she had a complete personality change and has turned into super shy cute girl. She acts like a moron as everyone guesses that she has found personal peace. After admitting to that HORRIBLE fact the 5 march to the gym. Otonashi explains very nonchalantly that everyone else, even Takamatsu, has moved on. Oh that’s good. And life moves on apparently. They go to the gym where the 4 (while Yuri was unconscious) set up their graduation ceremony. For the 5 of them. Because everyone else is gone and not in this episode. After Yuri has another personality spaz attack they sing the Battlefront song which Tenshi wrote. It is about her favorite food. Naoi and Hinata almost bond over hating the song. But Yuri loves her song because now they are best friends!! Next Hinata dresses up as an old man and hands out their diplomas (Otonashi gives Hinata his). Otonashi gives a speech about his time in this world and how all of his friends have touched him. He cries a bit. We see brief scenes of an empty school and personal stuff the rest of the SSS guys left behind. They sing another random song and the ceremony is over.

Photobucket

That will do pig. That'll do.

Naoi says goodbye to Otonashi first while crying. Then he poofs into nothing. Yuri then turns to Tenshi and says that she regrets not being friends with her while in this world. Then she poofs. Hinata turns to Otonashi and thanks him for helping all the other members poof home. The boys share a moment and Hinata disappears. Otonashi and Tenshi go outside and suddenly Otonashi has lost his damn mind. He wants to STAY in this world so when new kids come they can help them find their way home. Tenshi is like no you crazy pants. But Otonashi is like OH I LOVE YOU TENSHI. Tenshi reveals the reason she is in this world is because when Otonashi died she got his heart and she regrets never being able to meet him. So this apparently means the next time Otonashi tells her that he loves her she will poof. Otonashi starts crying because he wants to stay in this world but he says he loves you to Tenshi and she disappears. He cries and cries and then the credits roll and you are like OH CRAP did that really just happen?! Then in the real world a Tenshi look alike is humming one of Iwasawa’s songs as an Otonashi look alike walks by. He recognizes the song and runs after her. THE END!

Photobucket

Truly the end people. :(

That’s it people. Game over (except for that missing episode). And…well I feel a bit disappointed and empty inside.

Photobucket

Or the love triangle was Otonashi and Yuri trying to get Tenshi...

The love triangle angle never happened between OtonashixYurixTenshi. The most prevalent love triangle was OtonashixNaoixHinata. And that is like 75 percent truth and 25 percent yaoi fangirl wishing. Yuri never made a pass at Otonashi, she was not vying for his love, and in the end not very important to Otonashi. This makes me feel weird.

Photobucket

What am I seeing people?!

Yes it is weird. Weird how Yuri really didn’t have main character status this entire series. I thought the show was going to revolve around her but truly the central characters were Otonashi and Tenshi with Hinata for support and Yuri almost being the enemy at times. In her final moments she said goodbye to Tenshi while everyone else said goodbye to Otonashi. Who knows how long Yuri has been in this world hating on Tenshi but the few…weeks (being generous here) that Yuri stopped trying to blow Tenshi up apparently meant a lot to her.

Photobucket

Oh. So the writers are coming right out and saying they hate us. Awesome.

OR Yuri had a complete personality change and turned into a crazy person. Seriously. We had 12 episodes of Yuri being a hard ass and she turns into a giggly girl who acts like the world saw her panties? Why can’t she be the hard ass who finally has been able to move on from the awful event in her life? I don’t get the point with completely changing her character. Maybe I could see her being a bit softer but she almost acted embarrassed that she got over the fact that her three siblings died. I just don’t understand.

Photobucket

A beautiful song about...food. Amazing.

Hinata and Naoi were more in character. They bickered a bit and bonded a bit which was nice to see. Both recognized that it was Otonashi that made their leaving possible. Well at least Naoi anyway as Otonashi is the reason Hinata stayed. But I think they were true to themselves and took part in the silly ceremony to make Otonashi happy which makes me happy.

Photobucket

How is anyone's heart beating THEY ARE DEAD?! Also this is creepy.

I don’t know how I feel about Tenshi having Otonashi’s heart. I am not sure if that was totally unnecessary or sweet. Either way it confused me as Tenshi was in the world FIRST and Otonashi was the last person to arrive in crazy land of dead people. In any event it gives Tenshi a reason why to stick around in this world but I find it all too magical that she KNEW it was Otonashi.

Photobucket

Or how about NO?!

The biggest WTF of the whole show, the entire series really, was Otonashi…WANTING TO STAY BEHIND! After all he has been through he, the person who was okay with his life, wants to stay in crazy land. Oh I get the sentiment of wanting to help other people. I’m okay with that. But it came across as creepy asking Tenshi to because she has gone through so much in this world. Why would you want to put her through anymore?

Photobucket

GO WITH HER MORON!

Then when he realizes Tenshi doesn’t want to stay he still does?! WTF! You love this girl, hold hands and move on together. I get that you want to stay and help people because you are a good person. But like Yuri you have done enough. You can’t be responsible for every lost soul. You saved your share. Now is the time for you to move on with your love. You do not CRY as she disappears and you are left behind. WHAT WAS THE POINT??! Don't you want to be with everyone?!

Photobucket

WTF?! This is not a happy ending?!

Then the credit appear but backwards. Instead of Yuri being the first one (or last one in backwards land) it is Otonashi that is left behind and there was screaming at the computer screen. You seriously did not just do that!

Photobucket

This is all I get?! SERIOUSLY?!

But in the last thirty seconds of the episode a new Tenshi (relatively the same age as the last Tenshi) is humming Iwasawa’s song and the new Otonashi remembers it and chases after her. OH OKAY PEOPLE! All is better now because we threw you a tiny bone….I guess I should be happy Otonashi isn’t all alone in that world right?

So…I want to say that I am happy with the ending. But I’m not. We didn’t see everyone all happy in this new life. We never saw how anyone but Otonashi died. We only saw 5 back stories the entire series when the cast was pretty big. Oh and Takamatsu gets to move on too so we get a happy ending. Not that it gets explained or anything, he just gets to leave too despite being a NPC. GOOD TO KNOW PEOPLE.

Photobucket

Um...the group was actually meant to ATTACK Tenshi Yuri. You are forgetting that fact...

So yeah. I am disappointed. I think this episode could have been better. I do love the series as a whole (despite the problems with a HUGE cast, flip flop enemies of the week, and random direction) but this last episode didn’t do the series justice. It felt too empty with just seeing 5 people move on, 2 of which weren’t with the gang from the very beginning. Too much time was spent on the stupid ceremony and not the kids moving on with their lives. They were in that world for a reason and I don’t think they could magically move on so quickly. I wanted to see more tears, more raw emotions, and less stupid songs.

Would I recommend this series to someone? Of course. It was pretty amazing despite this last episode. And I did get my happy ending even if it was BRIEF and didn’t include the entire cast. I am a sucker for a happy ending so it gets my vote automatically. But it is not going on my best anime of all time list. It just can’t with so many unanswered questions. Unless the 14 episode is super amazing or something.

I feel like a bad fan. I really do love Angel Beats! Almost all the characters were likable. But I think with more focus the series would have been stronger and if the ending had more real world moments and not a 30 second teaser it would be happier. But…everyone is happy now so I guess I should be too. I am glad these kids were able to move on from the horrible things in their life. And in the end the show was really about Otonashi saving them rather than the battle or the enemies.

In closing…I was wrong. The kids were dead the entire time. GO ME.

Photobucket

See ya on the flip side!

Angel Beats Episode 12

Photobucket

Actually that is confusion...but close enough XD

Err….yeah people. Exactly. Go episode 12 of Angel Beats!

X_X What did I just watch? What is going on?! How can an episode have so much dialogue and leave me so confused? Clearly Angel Beats! is talented in that department.

So…yeah. Spoilers. If you can understand them.

Photobucket

Stop ruining the dramatic moments with random weirdness! XO

Episode Summary: Otonashi, Naoi, and Hinata are having a strategy meeting in the old headquarters. Outside in the hallway are all the nonimportant SSS members and the DGM group. They tell the boys they are done and are going to move on and other lovely stuff. Then they disappear. Naoi and Hinata fight over who loves Otonashi more when the smoke monsters come to attack them. They run outside and help Tenshi take out the scary baddies. One by one all of the important SSS members arrive on the scene, showing that they decided not to move on and have stayed to fight. Everyone is in character except for Matsushita who lost like a million pounds. Yuri has made it to the deep parts of Old Guild but is having some problems due to the increase of smoke monsters. Chaa (leader of Guild) appears and gives Yuri a better weapon. He moves on (although it is unclear if his men moved on or went above to help with the fight) and Yuri progresses through the tunnels.

Yuri is overtaken by the smoke monsters and it appears she turns into an NPC. She has a hard time adjusting as she keeps remembering the battle and eventually she breaks through the spell. Well that and Tenshi sensed something was wrong and they (Hinata, Otonashi, Tenshi, and Naoi) went down into Guild to save her. There is a slightly cute reunion but they press on. Tenshi blasts most of the smoke monsters away but everyone but Yuri stays behind to handle the leftovers. Yuri finally makes it to the room where all the stolen computers are being held. A young man is there acting weird. Confusing conversation takes place about a man who made the Angel Player program and his reasoning behind this world. The boy implies that Otonashi existence in the world brought an imbalance thus a wipe had to be taken. The boy says that Yuri has the power to become god in this world and she almost takes that gift. But then she goes postal and blows up all the computers and the boy disappears. Yuri starts to feel as if she is going to move on and attempts to fight it. Her dead siblings appear and tell her it’s okay, she’s done enough. After a really fast ending song/scene (with everyone still present) Yuri wakes up in the clinic with Otonashi, Hinata, Tenshi, and Naoi looking at her. THE END!

Photobucket

I think we are getting a happy ending. Or at least we better.

X_X Seriously people.

Photobucket

Biggest Loser wilderness edition!

I will start with the “boring” stuff and work my way to the complicated and WTF. First on this list is Matsushita and his apparent diet success. X_X WTF was all that stuff? I thought he looked fine before. Not everyone is a string bean. Some people are bigger and healthy at the same time. But now Matsushita lost a few pounds and is hot? I guess someone had to replace Takamatsu with the rockin body.

Photobucket

We are here to say goodbye even though you don't know us.

The remaining members of the Girls Dead Monster and the non important members of SSS go poof. How amazingly predictable. Of course the other nonimportant members didn’t get to say anything but…at least they were in the background for a few minutes before they poofed. I do like that the GDM said goodbye and said their peace to Otonashi. I am confused on how all these people just POOFED as I thought you needed to move on from you past regrets. I didn’t think they could just go POOF because smoke monsters were trying to make them NPCs. I can see them not wanting to fight anymore and moving forward eventually but instantly? I am having a hard time following that.

Photobucket

We are men! Behold our power to look special while holding shiny objects!

So as amazingly unpredictable as the nonimportant SSS members all poofing the important SSS members have stuck around. We are going to ignore my last paragraph as I go…WUT?! What exactly is everyone trying to protect? If everyone was about to be killed by smoke monsters I would get out of dodge. I mean, they stay and fight. They win against the smoke monsters. Then what? Tenshi is not their enemy. They know moving on is what they are supposed to do. So are they going to stay in this world after the danger passes? I AM GUESSING NOT JUDGING BY THE NEXT EPISODE! So why bother staying and putting yourself in danger when you could go (when you are going to GO anyway) and be safe? DOES NOT COMPUTE!

Photobucket

I'm sensing we are not getting an explanation about TK and his...TKness.

So putting aside that their reasoning behind staying and fighting when fleeing would make more sense….it was kinda nice. Due to how the episode ended I think that might be the last time we see everyone together. Or maybe not. Maybe everyone will graduate together. But that was the last battle, the last chance for everyone to fight for and with each other. The next episode everyone will disappear and HOPEFULLY be reborn together. So it was nice. And random. Totally knockin’ on heaven’s door.

Photobucket

I am sensing the happy. Really I am.

Yuri nearly gave me a heart attack with her nearly NPC moment. A small part of me was hoping that maybe she would run into Takamatsu and he would be saved BUT I GUESS NOT! I thought her speech was a little dramatic but Yuri is a dramatic person so it fit.

Photobucket

I LOVE HIM MORE!

Hinata and Naoi following Otonashi around is still super cute. It wasn’t AS cute as last week but still AW. Wait for me Otonashi. Let me have your back Otonashi. Let’s fight together one last time Otonashi. I love it even if neither relationship is possible. XD

Photobucket

I was expecting more of a fight I think...

Moving on to the WTF moments. Who was Yuri talking to?! X_X I am so confused. Like seriously wtf is going on confused. I get WHY most of the stuff is going on in regards to the Love system…thingy. I get that someone made these programs to protect himself and the world because it’s the rules. His name is probably Ben or Jacob. But who is this random guy telling Yuri all this crap? Surely he is someone who wanted to move on right? He poofed so I am guessing he moved on. Did Ben/Jacob make him stay there until the world ended or something? Was he really Ben/Jacob?
WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?!

Photobucket

I swear if Yuri is somehow connected to this love, waiting too long thing I will lose my mind X_X

I am so confused. I would have liked it better had the person who MADE this world was the one explaining things. If Yuri could have asked more specific questions. If it made sense. But I do get that Otonashi is the one who “ruined” the world. That I understood so I get a cookie right? I am not understanding this program stuff and why the person who created the program couldn’t move on if he wanted to BE with this person. X_X Such confusion. But yay for Otonashi bringing love.

When Yuri had that crazy moment I almost had another WTF face. But then she smiled and showed her true character. No matter how angry she is she understands that she can’t be a god and that running this world isn’t her purpose in life. She was able to move on with the help of her dead siblings and she shot down all the love computers. Poor dead NPCS.

Photobucket

I would have a hard time moving on from this too.

I think that there could have been more build up to Yuri coming to terms with her sibling’s death. I think it would have been more moving had everyone but Otonashi disappeared from the world and they left together, to be with everyone else. But Yuri has been in a bad place for a long time so maybe this was a big moment for her. She didn’t need something THAT dramatic to bring her back from the edge. Or maybe Yuri realized that it was episode 12 and episode 13 needs to include scenes of the kids being reborn. Yuri was like CRAP I need to get my sad story done right now or it will never happen.

So…we aren’t going to see how any of the SSS members really died. We aren’t going to see most of their back stories. And at this point I don’t think this world is really going to be explained. X_X But I am still hoping for a cute ending with everyone meeting up on Earth again. Hopefully. At least no more explodey confusing stuff.

Angel Beats Episode 11

Photobucket

Maybe I was brainwashed?!

Okay. So I’m crazy right? Last week I was whining about not being able to go to work and being bored and blah blah right? I am officially insane for even thinking that. Being bored ROCKS. I will take being bored at home with my computer over being at work. Surely I was insane for ever thinking that. Maybe the thought of having no money for a week clouded my mind or something. PAY NO ATTENTION TO ME!

So after burning my finger off, breaking out into mysterious hives randomly on my arm, and HURTING MYSELF I come to Froot Loops and Angel Beats. Froot Loops because my husband didn’t feel like making poor injuried me dinner and Angel Beats because Angel Beats is the only good thing about Fridays. Thank you Angel Beats. Without you I would be in the corner plotting the deaths of many people. Now I can do that later!!!

This post is brought to you by my left Index Finger. Index Finger. That appendage that is not moving correctly due to be exposed to 500 degree ovens.

Photobucket

But I wanted to have a secret meeting with Otonashi!

Short Summary review because I am practicing on being BRIEF: Otonashi is plotting who he is going to heal next when he is confronted by both Hinata and Naoi. Both boys want to help Otonashi make the others disappear but both boys hate the other for trying to monopolize Otonashi. Before Naoi can brainwash Hinata Naoi is taken over by a SMOKE MONSTER. Somehow Hinata and Otonashi manage to kill the SMOKE MONTER with bullets. Yuri gets wind of this and orders all SSS members to move carefully in group. She also has a meeting with Tenshi to get info on all this Smoke Monster business. Tenshi claims to not to have made the monster and Naoi tries to cover for Tenshi by making her feel villainous. But the sham on Tenshi being a baddie fails when more Smoke Monsters appear and Tenshi appears to help protect the SSS members. Yuri sees one NPC kid turn into a Smoke Monster but says nothing.

Photobucket

See the problem with this lie is a normal, happy person would want to stab Naoi too.

Takamatsu is taken over by a Smoke Monster and is sucked into the ground. He reappear the next morning acting like an NPC student with no memories of the SSS group. Yuri concludes that the Smoke Monster sucked out his soul and turned him into a NPC. Yuri calls a meeting with the entire SSS group and explains how serious the situation is. She also calls Otonashi up front to explain what he thinks should happen AKA disappear. Shocked that she knew Otonashi explains his stance and Naoi and Hinata try to back him up. People seem conflicted and Yuri tells them to all think it over. After the meeting Yuri asks Tenshi to fight the Smoke Monster while she investigates something. Also it is revealed that Tenshi is not an angel and Yuri knew that all along. Hinata makes Yuri promise to come back to them all as she goes running off. While the other kids are thinking about what they should do Yuri goes to the library where she has correctly concluded is the source of the Smoke Monster. Well it was until someone stole a bunch of computers. Following a secret path it is apparent she is going to Guild. THE END!

Photobucket

Behold the awesome useless wings of beautifulness!

Wow. X_X That went…a lot differently than I thought it was going to. Which is good in a way. A show that is full of surprises and keeps you on your toes is a good show. But for once I would like to be right about…something. Just one little theory, that’s all I’m asking.

Never mind, I rather use all my “points” on getting some actual Fai and Kurogane proof scenes. I mean I KNOW they are couple and many other reasonable people realize that too but proof would be nice. So people like Vic Mignogna can shut the hell up.

Photobucket

Look at that smile! XD

So what was I wrong about first? I was wrong about Hinata and Otonashi’s fake yaoi relationship ending. If anything it is stronger than ever which makes Hinata some sort of adulterer. Poor Yui. She probably hasn’t even been reborn yet and she has been cheated on. The world is unfair.

Photobucket

Oh and also notice the touching.

Of course me being wrong about this is AWESOME. XD Hinata and Otonashi yaoi jokes keep things light and fluffy. We can’t have it all doom and gloom right? Just because I gave Hinata and Yui my blessing on their canon relationship doesn’t mean I am going to give up on my crazy it’s not possible pairing.

Photobucket

Aw joint freaking out. How cute.

Add Naoi into the mix and I was a super happy Tenchi. With a busted finger, hived ridden arm, and achy injury. Because I got all the pretend yaoiness. Even though Hinata is promised to someone else he is still jealous that Naoi is trying to steal his Otonashi away. And well….Naoi just doesn’t care that Hinata is super close friends with Otonashi. Suffer toilet paper suffer.

Photobucket

I JUST WANT TO LEAVE THE ISLAND!

I was wrong about what the Smoke Monster was. I didn’t voice it but I thought that the Smoke Monster was a manifestation of something dark inside Yuri. That she couldn’t accept Otonashi healing all of her friends and comrades so she had to create something to cause drama and heat things up. I didn’t think that she did it on purpose but subconsciously. Also I am only going to say I am semi wrong on this theory as we don’t know who is the one behind the computer program changes. So…Smoke Monster enemies. At least it wasn’t Jacob’s fault!

Photobucket

A secret boss?! XO It wasn't in the guide!!!

I like how Yuri compared the Smoke Monster to bosses in a video game used to make people MOVE and not stick around in an area that is completed. It was a funny joke. Although I am having a hard time understanding why this world is being treated like a computer program. X_X Confuses me how Tenshi can type a few sentences into a computer she made with her mind and BAM in happens. I hope the last few episodes can really explain this to me as I am slightly confused.

Photobucket

Why...are you wearing a shirt?!

XO I was wrong about Otonashi spending the last few episodes healing people and Yuri being mad. For one…Takamatsu is no longer with us. Everyone….it is time to mourn the loss of the shirtless one. He went before his time. We will never get to know his sad little back story and now he is an NPC. Without his glasses. :( But seriously I do hope that there is a way to bring him back. He deserves to go on with his life too.

Photobucket

TK is right. Spread love, not hate.

I was also wrong about the Yuri being angry at Otonashi part. She was like okay peeps, you got two choices and Otonashi will explain his ideas on protecting you. He was like….was I seriously trying to hide something Yuri, the Queen of this world? But I do like that Naoi was trying to protect Otonashi from Yuri’s wrath. Not that Tenshi and her awesome nonlying skills helped hide anything but it was nice that Yuri didn’t go crazy on Otonashi.

Photobucket

XO A leader...giving choices...

Does that make her a good leader or a bad leader though? Yuri’s whole purpose up until now is making sure the kids don’t “disappear”. Of course her real goal might have been to get back to God but I am trying to make her sound good. But now she is letting the newest member of their ranks dictate plans and sway minds. Truly a very risky move had it not been Otonashi and his kind little heart. But maybe Yuri realized that it was a good thing to move on and wants to give her people a way out before they become NPCs. So I am going to side with a good leader who got really lucky with the person who opposed her.

Photobucket

What do you mean this obvious fact is obvious?!

Otonashi and Hinata finding out that Tenshi was not an angel was awesome. I guess Naoi pretending he was in the know was amusing too. But it was almost the exact same situation when Otonashi learned that Tenshi was actually trying to HELP everyone by disappearing. One would think that Otonashi would have asked then what was going on. Also one would think that Otonashi, Hinata, and Naoi would question why Yuri MADE UP THE ENTIRE STORY…but I guess I will chalk that up to the boys being scared of the Smoke Monster. Otherwise I am a bit confused on why my boys dropped the ball.

Photobucket

I think this was my favorite serious moment.

I do like that we got a few moments to see how the other SSS members are taking the news. It felt nice with the closing song being played in the background and all. I just wish TK could have ONE serious moment. I get he is the guy who says random English phrases but this is serious business times!!!

Photobucket

But WHO is YOU?

I am not sure what was up with Yuri investigating all on her own. I guess she feels responsible and wants the others to be free to choose their own future. But after that little talking to that Hinata gave her about them being a team…I just wanted her to work with some people. But she is all off going to find stolen computers on her own. She will need rescuing and….err I don’t know. XD

So while I was wrong about this entire episode I am still happy. With only two episodes left I am in denial about my Fridays sucking in the near future. But all good things must come to an end, even Hinata and Otonashi yaoi jokes.

Angel Beats Episode 10: The BAWWWW episode

Photobucket

Tenshi is too cute for words!

This post is going to be one big BAWWWW fest. I am seriously typing this entry with tears in my eyes. And if you manage to walk away from this episode without your heart strings pulled congratulations. You can find your long lost relative on Mount Crumpit.

MOG people I’m not even that fond of Yui and I am sitting here with tissues. Anyone who was worried about how the rest of the plot was going to after Otonashi’s decision should be really satisfied now. If not…well you might have to wait a little while to find that particular snowflake.

This post contains the death of my yaoi pairing and a sudden love of Yui. Crazy I know.

Photobucket

Plans are always better with pictures!

Episode Summary: Otonashi informs Tenshi that he has decided to start Operation Give Everyone Peace and he has chosen Yui as his first candidate. There is brief talk about how Tenshi has been making changes to her Hand Sonic thingy and how she needs wings. But then Otonashi breaks out the silly plan (complete with a dreamlike scenario) on separating Yui from the rest of her band mates. This plan would have been a success if Yui had not been told by her band mates she sucks at playing the guitar and singing at the same time. Yui was in the middle of a meltdown prior to Tenshi stealing her guitar so instead of running after her Yui melts to the ground and resigns herself to just being a singer. Tenshi continues to carry out the plan despite Yui not following her and Otonashi goes to investigate.

Photobucket

Um...you are missing a pink haired girl....

Eventually Yui does go after Tenshi and Otonashi is able to save the day, all according to plan. Otonashi tries to get Yui to vocalize her dreams/regrets in her previous life. She ends up explaining that she was unable to walk most of her life due to a car accident and all she had was the TV. She would watch programs and wish she could be like those people thus she has many dreams. Slightly X_x Otonashi continues on. Yui’s first dream is to do a complicated wrestling move. That goes on pretty uneventfully and she master the moves. Yui’s next dream is to score in a soccer game by beating 5 people. Otonashi deceives a few members of the SSS group into thinking Tenshi is challenging them to a soccer match with their manhood on the line. They stay during the game despite the fact that Tenshi is not there and Yui is acting like a freak. With Otonashi and Tenshi sabotaging the game Yui is victorious. Yui’s next goal is to hit a home run so she and Otonashi start practicing. Hinata catches them practicing but says nothing.

Photobucket

Otonashi is so happy!

Yui becomes frustrated that she is unable to hit a home run after so many days of practice and gives up. But she does so with a smile because she is able to move around and have fun in this life. She then reveals to Otonashi that she had one more regret from her past life, that she never got married. She starts to ask Otonashi to marry her but Hinata comes out of nowhere and declares he will marry her. Yui starts to feel as if she is not being honest with Hinata but Hinata argues all is okay. He doesn’t care that she was unable to walk in her previous life or if she might not be able to walk in her next. Hinata creates this scenario how he will accidentally break a window in her room and when he goes to retrieve it he will meet her and that is how they start a relationship in their next life. Yui cries and disappears, moving on to her next life. Otonashi is worried that Hinata is upset with him but Hinata says that he is here to help out as many others as he can. Elsewhere in the school Yuri is informed that her troops have fought some kind of dangerous shadow creature and are scared out of their minds. THE END!

Can my entire post contain BAWWWW?! That is seriously how I feel right now. I almost wish the last scene didn’t exist because it slightly took away from the BAWWW factor. But I guess it was necessary to further the plot along. Also Angel Beats! likes to end on a cliffhanger so no point in criticizing them for something they have been doing all along.

BAWWWWWW!

Photobucket

Tenshi abuse!

I really loved Otonashi being so into his plans to give people peace. Well and I loved his little scenario in his head. I am a fan of silly cut scenes. Otonashi was being so serious about his plans but I was too busy laughing at crazy Yui chasing a silly Tenshi. So Otonashi is a very intelligent person with an excellent plan but he still manages to bring the laughs. A well rounded character indeed.

Photobucket

Tenshi is a power ranger now?

Tenshi also made me laugh even though she didn’t do much. The way she was nodding and listening to Otonashi made me smile. I get the feeling she doesn’t really understand his plan all that much but she trusts him enough to agree to his silly plan. It was also amusing that Tenshi was not able to deviate from the plan. When Yui didn’t follow her Tenshi still went outside and gave Otonashi the guitar. She is smart enough to make changes to her body/program but common sense is lost on her.

Photobucket

HOW DARE YOU BE RIGHT!

Yui being picked on by her band members made me smirk at first. Then I watched the rest of the episode and decided they were assholes! No really…I can see where the original Girls Dead Monster members might be a little frustrated with Yui. The SSS group allowed Yui to be the new vocalists. They didn’t seem to be in control of the decision making. Maybe one of the original girls wanted to step up and shine. But they got Yui who really was trying to be Iwasawa 2.0 when really she was going good at being Yui. So I can see how the girls were frustrated with the entire situation.
Yui surprised me when she didn’t run after Tenshi to get her guitar. Maybe that was her realizing that her teammates were right and she was going to try to focus on her singing instead. She moved on from having her tantrum and wanted to help the group in any way she could. However this maturity was short lived and soon she went running after Tenshi as planned.

Poor Otonashi. He thought he picked an easy person to start with and he ended up picking the person who had a million and half dreams. I half expected Otonashi to try to walk away and Yui having to drag him back with demands to pay attention to her. But Otonashi is following through with the plan because he is a true friend.

Who is that familiar little piggie on the end?!

Yui’s back story was sad. We all know nothing is going to beat Yuri’s sad story of woe so there is no use in comparing the two. But with the other kids there was the idea they got to experience a little bit of life and something bad happened to them. Yui was stuck in bed from a very young age and could only watch the world from her window. So that to me is pretty damn tragic. Adding in the guilt that Yui experienced from having to rely on her mom for everything and her life was actually “useless”.

That looks helpful.

The wrestling dream wasn’t that amazing for me. Just meh. I am not a real fan of wrestling and I think it was special that Yui was trying to complete a complex move without having the basic component down pat. Then I remembered that she was only able to watch TV and she was just star stricken into liking certain things. That and the scene was necessary to show how dedicated Otonashi was to the cause.

Otonashi is shocked and amazed!

The soccer game was more amusing. I am surprised that the guys were so duped into believing Otonashi’s dumb note. I was also surprised that they stayed to play the game when they realized there was no danger. But Otonashi counted on the boys being boys and that they couldn’t get wounded in their man pride. MMM Man pride, causing problems since the beginning of time.

Some dreams are impossible but that is the reality of life...

I like that Yui was unable to complete her baseball dream. Even though this is a world of dead kids and girls who can graft swords on their hands I found it really realistic. Just like K-On!!’s episode this week it was a realistic view on just because try really hard doesn’t mean you are going to succeed. Failure will happen, especially when you are new to something. But instead of being upset that she was unable to reach her goal Yui was once again mature enough to be happy with Otonashi spending time with her and that she was able to run around and have fun.

This episode is the death of Hinata and Otonashi’s nonexistent yaoi relationship. Let’s have a moment of silence for something that never was.

Before Otonashi could help Yui become a better band member Yui reveals that she has one more dream. And this dream actually makes sense and is probably what started the tears. Yui wanted to get married. Now this might not be true for all but a lot of little girls/young ladies out there dream about getting married. Most of us won’t be rock stars or soccer heroes but most of us will get married. That basic dream was also stolen from Yui and was something she probably regretted the most. It just really hit home to me how sad and lonely Yui was all that time.

This will only end in tears.

And then Hinata comes in and things get slightly confusing. Hinata agrees to marry Yui but they both continue to talk about her being unable to walk. Um she is DEAD right? (not my theory but rolling with what the characters think). So this marriage she is talking about is what will happen after they are reborn. That they are going to WHOOSH go to the world as babies and become slightly different people with different lives but the same soul. But the way they were talking it almost seemed like they thought they were going to go back to THAT life or that Yui was magically going to be bed bound again? I don’t know, it was confusing.

Of course Yui might have been referring to that Hinata didn’t know her true self, that he was marrying a fraud. Hinata was trying to convince Yui that he loved her whether she was unable to walk or if she was strangling him for no reason. Either way BAWWWW!

BAWWWW!!!

And here come the water works.

I really, really loved Yui and Hinata’s dream of the future/past. That despite Yui being unable to walk they still had a happy relationship. Of course in this fluff dream they didn’t show the awkward moments and frustration but that’s fine. It was beautiful to see Hinata smiling at Yui and Yui to have light in her eyes. Just one huge BAWWW fest seriously guys.

Hinata is just so wonderful and giving!

AND THEN SHE DISAPPEARS! I really thought BOTH of them would go poof which probably didn’t help my BAWWW fest but no. Hinata stayed. He basically confessed his love to this girl and she is off to get reincarnated without him. I was expecting tears but maybe Hinata was focusing on her being happy. He knew what Otonashi was planning on sending Yui home. He had the power to stop him. But he decided to help Otonashi out and gave Yui her greatest wish. BAWWWW!

All I have left is a Hinata and Otonashi friendship. There will probably be no more yaoi jokes between the two. Sadness fills my heart. But I do think it was really sweet that Hinata backed up Otonashi. He didn’t go running to Yuri to tattle on Otonashi. He was smart enough to figure out Otonashi’s plan and was able to aid him in the end. BAWWW at the friendship now.

MOG what now?!

And then the last scene made me go X_X. Here we have another disappeared member of the SSS gang but we don’t have time to mourn. Because some creepy shadow thing is coming to kill the rest of the gang. Okay. That was random. I doubt it is Tenshi putting on an act so do we have a new enemy? Or one last clone that got away? Guess we will have to find out next week as once again the previews SUCK!

Did everyone enjoy the BAWWWing? There will probably be more once you realize that there will probably be no more kick ass songs. :(
