Little Busters! episode 16: Of brats and benches

4th post of the day go me!!!!! Trying to mix in a few chores here and there so my eyes don't fall out of my head. Remember kids get out there and exercise. Or take a nap. Yeah take a nap instead. Then eat some ice cream. Awesome role model stuff here.
Photobucket
Maybe if there were more episodes about her instead of trouble making Haruka.
What is up now? Just Little Busters! episode 16. You know that harem show that has the main guy not in love with anyone? Well spoilers for the biggest crazy of them all finally losing her marbles.
Photobucket
Saying it a little louder!
Episode Summary: Riki is ready to have a boring day at school (yeah right) when Masato skips in saying he snuck out of school to purchase some noms. He is super excited about this meal but when he opens up the container it is empty. Haruka walks on by saying how delicious it was and how the FBI made her eat the food. This starts a fight with Masato getting a camera, Haruka getting some sorta of rubber band kit, and Kyousuke showing up despite being in another classroom at the time. Masato of course loses but Haruka reveals that she didn't eat the food. After school or during break Rin, Riki, and Komari are walking around and playing with cats when they hear Haruka pretending to be a cat. They try to guess what she has done wrong now as she is hiding from the Disciplinary Committee. Turns out she used the school's oven without permission...even though all the Little Busters did the same thing a while back. As they laugh at Haruka being naughty they watch her take out her tool kit to start fixing a bench. She talks about how she spends a lot of time on this bench when she skips class. She also talks about how when she started school the first person who was nice to her was nice to her while she was sitting on this bench. This person was of course Riki but he doesn't remember. Everyone talks about how lovely this bench story is and how touching Haruka is acting. Of course Kanata walks up and announces this bench is marked for destruction and new one will be put in its place. Haruka tries to scream out her side of the story but some of the boys in the Disciplinary Committee come by and hammer it away in a dramatic fashion. Haruka pretends she is okay with all of this as Kanata drags her away to face the Committee for all her crimes.
Photobucket
SUCH A SECRET!!!!
Riki and the others are told that they can't come watch but they do so anyway with Yuiko showing up too. Haruka is read all her crimes and starts yelling that she never stole sodas from a machine and blah blah blah. When the other Disciplinary Committee members point out her pattern of behavior and why no one believes her Haruka snaps and starts losing her mind, attacking people and demanding Kanata not look at her like that. People have to restrain her animal self and Yuiko calms down the insane girl. Obviously Haruka is punished and the Little Busters help her put the room back together. Everyone pretends that Haruka's isn't crazy and Riki wonders why Kanata is so harsh on Haruka. Sometime later the Little Busters arrive at school to find the campus covered in fliers saying that Haruka is relate to a criminal. Everyone works hard to take down the fliers but the damage is done. They find Haruka crying in the club house and she explains the situation. Her family is insane each wife takes two husbands to ensure an heir. For some reason this lead to people yelling at Haruka all the time but whatever. One of her mother's husbands did kill someone which has haunted her her whole...and Kanata. Since you know Kanata is her twin. THE END!
Photobucket
Not buying this cute girl act at all.
….Is this show trying to make me hate Haruka? Because if so it is working. If not...well they need to rethink their ideas because Haruka is a BRAT and no wonder Kanata is the way she is around her.
Photobucket
I got this folks.
The episode starts off with another fight between Masato and someone. This week it is Haruka. If someone ate my food I would fight them too. Okay not fight them but got them in trouble/forced money out of them. Too bad that Masato went about obtaining his food in not legal ways or he could have told on her. Instead it was battle time. Should have blinded her with the flash.
Photobucket
Being a fruit cake like usual.
After that nonsense it was cat petting time with Haruka being a nut in the bushes. Maybe next time you are hiding from people making no noises at all would be a better idea. Not pretending to be a cat. Also why is Rin always hanging out with Komari? I get she was the first one to be brought into Little Busters 2.0 but there are other girls now. Share the love Rin. Even if it makes your head explode.
Photobucket
Probably something dumb.
Haruka....is just a trouble maker and a brat. That is all there is to it. Sure the other Little Busters break the rules too but Haruka running around using the kitchen alone without permission is worse than the Little Busters making food for the entire campus. So when people assume she does things wrong and she laughs off what she has actually done...just a brat. Brat brat brat. Throw the book at her at this point.
Photobucket
I will love it and squeeze it and call in benchy.
The bench part of the story was the weirdest...sad moment of the show so far. Haruka having such a connection to a bench is odd. I mean...I get it. People get attached to things. Weird things. Habits form over time and you can't explain why a certain thing makes you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. But that being said there is another bench 5 feet away. IT'S A GENERIC BENCH AT SCHOOL! I mean she should focus more on the memories that Riki was nice to her on the bench but had she been sitting on the grass Riki still would have talked to her. So trying to make me emotionally connect to a bench was not going to happen.
Photobucket
NOT THE BENCH!!!!!!!
When Kanata came by and destroyed the bench her with minions it was SO overdramatic. I know kids just run around and do the hard labor at schools. There are not maintenance workers for this at all. So maybe the kids cooking all the food for everyone wasn't that crazy. Who needs adults when we got kids to do the work for free! Add in the fact that Kanata had to come by and crush the bench 5 seconds after the bench story was told and I am like....is this really happening?
Photobucket
So one out of the 100 things you didn't do? I see.
I thought the Disciplinary Committee was actually pretty.....gentle with Haruka. Given all that she does it could have been worse. Much worse. The fact that Haruka was getting all upset over one false accusation was pretty petty. Well the false accusation was petty to begin with but given all that Haruka DOES do her arguing that she didn't do something so minor really shows you how insane this girl is. Or how cute she thinks she is or how beyond punishment she thinks she is. Girl is annoying.
Photobucket
Like a caged little animal.
Oh and insane. I guess Kanata triggered something inside of Haruka because homegirl lost her damn mind. Being looked down upon made Haruka pick up chairs and bite people and what not. Later in the episode it is explained that she has family issues at home but really....really. Is this a cry for attention? Because if so no one is giving her much. Or the attention she wants. Some kids act out so their parents pay attention to them but if Haruka wanted that from Kanata...well she is getting it and she isn't happy with it. And no matter how crappy your home life is one needs to learn to control themselves. Seek help. Make friends. At 15 years old throwing marbles at people and skipping every single class because you can isn't cute.
Photobucket
Actually....it's not okay. Not okay at all.
Yuiko calming down Haruka was nice but the fact that no one mentioned the insanity AT ALL....was disturbing. Homegirl just lost her mind and they are picking up chairs and tables like nothing happened. You can be a friend and still point out when someone is a hot mess. And Haruka is a hot mess. Be a good friend and point out that maybe if you stop acting like a fool you won't be in trouble all the time.
Photobucket
Such a dramatic flyer too.
I am not sure what the point was for this mystery person to post these flyers around school. Maybe they are apart of the Disciplinary Committee and they are tired of dealing with Haruka. Someone that really supports Kanata and knows they are sisters and is trying to make life easier for Kanata? Obviously it was cruel to do this and Haruka doesn't deserve it. Throw the kid out of school, don't bring up something her dad did.
Photobucket
How does this make sense?
Is this show written by 12 year olds? Because Haruka's sad family story is so dumb. So beyond dumb. Something that a little kid would think would be dramatic. Is Key running out of real dramatic moments? Because....a wife having two husbands would really not guarantee anything. I have read about ONE CULTURE that this was the norm but they died out. I wonder why. It would make more sense to have two wives. I am not understanding this entire situation. Clearly Haruka must be from the murderer dad but Kanata is too? So why the hate between them?! I knew they were twins but...I just don't know. Assigning one twin to one man doesn't change the fact he isn't their father. Does any of this make sense?!?!
Photobucket
Um I will you brat.
So....is this supposed to be the part where I feel bad for Haruka? Because I don't. Clearly Kanata isn't acting out so family life can't be all that bad. Of course if Haruka is from the bad father and Kanata was assigned to the good father I can see how they were raised differently. But Haruka was messing up with a smile, not anger. Ask your sister for help. I don't know, I am not down for kids getting blamed for their parent's crimes but Haruka is such a brat it is hard for me to care at times. Does that make sense? This situation is just so......far out of the realm of reality it is hard to feel bad for Haruka. Mainly because she is a brat. I don't know, this all made more sense in my head. Brat.

Psycho-Pass episode 14

Three posts in one hour. GO ME!!! Of course a lot of the work was already done and really I was being lazy on screenies. But details details right? All that matters is blog posts are getting done for everyone to read weeee! Is it too early for ice cream? Psht what a silly question.
Photobucket
Lots and lots of doubt.
Up now in this mini blogging marathon is Psycho-Pass episode 14. Spoilers for being happy where/when I live in because this show is messed up. X___X
Photobucket
Security!!! SECURITY!
Episode Summary: Somewhere in the city people are waiting patiently in what looks like a doctor's office. A dude wearing a weird mask walks in and no one bats an eye. He is scanned by the system and is allowed entry it what appears to be a scientist only area. He demands some sort of drug and the male scientist explains in the most boring voice ever tells him where he can purchase such drugs. The man in the mask then shoves some scissors down his throat. The female scientist starts screaming and begging the cameras to help her. The man in the mask demands the drugs again and stabs her with a pen. A short while later Ginoza and the rest of the team arrive at the pharmacy to examine the crime scene and two victims. Everyone is quite confused on how this could happen as the masked man had a very normal coefficient when he entered the room and when he committed the crime. Help never arrived as the robots and scans didn't register this as a crime. All of the team have different levels of doubt and questions about how this can be happening. Ginoza tries to lamely say that this is totally not like the Shougo case and it is probably the helmet. Everyone is like oh okay...and talk about how if word gets out that the system has been beat everyone is DOOMED! Shougo is seen talking to someone, that this person is the only one who really knows the whole plan and not to worry, killing one person is no big deal. A young lady is walking in a busy intersection when a masked man comes up to here...and starts beating her with something. Everyone stops and watches, with some even taking video of the incident. He rips her clothes off and beats her to death as the scanners only pick up on the woman being in distress. That is what sends our little gang over to the area not the actual crime itself. Akane starts to get all sad, thinking about how a Dominator doesn't always work but Shinya reminds her to stay focus. Shion sends everyone the video that is currently on the web (or whatever it is called) and they all watch as everyone else watches the crime taking place. Ginoza nearly loses his little mind at the thought of people just watching this happen. Akane decides that people no longer know how to handle such things thus couldn't really do anything. The scanners say that the masked man had a normal coefficient during the crime and thus the scanners didn't pick up on the crime. Shinya notices that the masked man had the same exact number as someone in the crowd though.
Photobucket
Aren't you the best detective ever?
Shougo is seen telling some people that things are going as planned and to proceed. Three men don the masks and taken down an armor car and all of the stuff inside. Shion then informs our group of this new crime and Ginoza is like is this the world we live in? Earlier he had been explaining to Akane that everything runs in their society based on the idea everyone around them must be safe or the scanners would be going off. So clearly this is really bad news and Ginoza can't handle so much going on at once. He decides to take the two super duper important Enforcers with him to investigate the robbery while Shinya, Daddy, and Akane go back to the pharmacy. No word on the newly dead girl...Shinya is like phst we are not going to the pharmacy I got this figured out. He calls Shion and tells her to investigate anyone that the newly dead girl might be associated with that could look suspicious. One of her co-workers has been missing for two weeks so clearly that means Shinya is amazing. They go to that co-workers house and basically he has a shrine de dead lady all over his house. Clearly his hue was not clear if he was thinking those thoughts thus he missed work. Akane and her grade A detective skills accidentally find the co-worker but when they go to shoot him with the Dominator it reads Akane's numbers instead. The suspect starts to run away with Tomomi chasing him. Akane wants to go after him but Shinya has realized that the helmet is really a scanner too, only it looks for a clear hue and uses it for the owner's. Akane is told to stay back and together with Shion's guidance they trap the co-worker in an empty building and it only has Tomomi's and Shinya's not so clear hue's to pick up on. He is captured and all is well. Elsewhere Shougo basically confirms that this was going to be easy to pick up on but at least the general idea of people being free was put out in the universe. The three masked men decided that Shougo is dumb for letting them have this technology so Shougo goes Jet Li on their asses and walks away with all the spoils. THE END!
Photobucket
And you suck. The end.
And so it begins. The beginning of the end. Say goodbye to these so called peaceful days folks. Chaos is in the streets and by the end of this Enforcers/Inspectors are either going to lose their jobs or lose their heads. Will Shinya be the last man standing?
Photobucket
I'm pretty sure we all know what that woman was thinking right before she died.
Most of this episode I spent screaming at the screen. Like why am I agreeing with Ginoza all the time?! Is this the world I live in?! One day I will do a blog post about phrases I over use in my real life. Is this the world we live in?! is one of them. XD But Ginoza was the one making sense here....well when he wasn't lying. What the heck WAS up with everyone? I can understand that people have been conditioned to rely on the scans and robots to keep the peace but when someone is being hit in the head with a hammer over and over again can we not see this is bad? Can we not use our little eyes to realize THIS IS BAD?!
Photobucket
When in doubt....just stare I guess.
But then I think back to the dead girl statues all over town and how people didn't understand that at first. Maybe...in the near future people will be so used to not having to worry this will all be foreign to them and they will react this like. Like this show is supposed to shock us as no one watching can really say THIS is what they would have done. Called the police or screamed or something. But then again.....people were taping this. So that means some people knew this was out of the ordinary and taped it yet didn't do anything to help. It is hard to say just what is going on here or what the director is trying to show us. People can't both not care/not know something is wrong AND know it is wrong and tape it.
Photobucket
Are you blind?!
Yet folks...eyeballs. EYEBALLS! Someone walks in with what looks like a gas mask and no one bats an eyes. Maybe this is fashionable these days but come on folks. It is like the writer is trying to make this entire society look like fools and that Shougo is really doing them a favor. This is why humans really need to be involved with every aspect of society. We let machines run everything and Skynet takes over and the world turns into crazy. It is almost like Wall-E but instead of becoming fat humans lack common sense skills and soon humans will be brainless animals.
Photobucket
Nope. I blame them. Sorry. I understand that society has made them this way but nope.
And again Akane is portrayed as the person who is the voice of reason. Even if I think Ginoza was actually the correct one. Akane still wants to see the best in people even though she knows first hand that the system is flawed and human being are pretty awful to each other. Just a lot of crap and Akane can still say...the bystanders are not to blame. Well if they didn't know what was going on why were they taping it?
Photobucket
Laying it on way too much Ginoza.
Did I already talk about Ginoza and the fantasy land he lives in? Because really folks really. I know HeadLady told Ginoza to lie to his team and cover up the fact that some people are born able to beat the system but come on. Can we do a little better than this? I am guessing no as he was as believable with a kid covered in chocolate claiming he didn't eat all the cookies. If he hadn't been laying it on so thick it might have been more believable.
Photobucket
Don't mind me, I am just doing all the work like usual.
So while Akane is busy is not blaming anyone and Ginoza is blaming everything but the obvious fact Shinya is actually doing his job and detective work. Like instead of allowing machines to do all the work let me use my brain and piece everything together. I do think he got slightly lucky by picking the crime that was actually the target (well the target of the killer, not Shougo and his master plan). But I guess Shinya is pretty smart. I am not sure how the pharmacy woman was killed but she probably wasn't stripped nearly naked and hit with a hammer 38473 times. That crime did have a high level of hatred motivated behind it.
Photobucket
Her help might have been overshadowed by the fact the criminal was so creepy.
We can't forget about Shion though. Without her faster than lightening computer skills they wouldn't have been able to find the suspect so fast. It is a bit creepy that how much information you can find out about a person in this series. Someone is out of work for two and clearly they are a suspect. Big Brother indeed. Thanks Shion for all your help.
Photobucket
Akane was actually helpful for once....by just existing!!!!
In the end the way that Shougo was helping criminals commit their crimes actually makes sense. And takes advantage of the system already in place. Almost makes you wonder why no one thought of this before. Given how much is faked in this society having a fake huge makes sense. Like everything is computerized and holographical so stealing someone's “identity” really makes sense. The only thing you have to worry about is hanging out with other criminals. XD Or having a Dominator pick up on the CID's profiles as hello that is a super red flag.
Photobucket
Thanks.....man of the people.
In the end the first crime and the third crime might not matter. Shougo might need those drugs and bombs but in the long run his goal was just committing high level crimes in front of a large group of people. To get everyone talking and thinking that hello we really aren't safe and we have given up a lot of our freedoms for no real return. So Shougo is a pretty awful person who helps other criminals commit terrible crimes but....in the end he might be the one who really frees society. Very creepy indeed.
Photobucket
Um....it should be. It should be folks.
In conclusion Shougo is helping everyone on hammer to the head at a time, Ginoza is super emotional and a bad liar, and Akane continues to think the best in people as others tape the beating death of an innocent person. Clearly the future is not a good place according to any anime ever.

Shin Sekai Yori episode 17

Downloading anime episodes is not working for me. X___X Very frustrating to download something for an hour and then it says error and won't load. Very frustrating indeed. No wonder it is easier to just go to any old site and get pictures. It's like they don't want me to have screenies.
Photobucket
Um....who would trust this face?
But I will get the screenies. It is anime episode day today. XD Up now is Shin Sekai Yori episode 17. Spoilers for.....just more disappointment.
Photobucket
A bit of a harsh description of what they mean to each other isn't it?
Episode Summary:12 years after Maria and Mamoru left for the wilderness Saki has grown into a normal looking person with the worst job ever. She is working at the Department of Exospecies Control “. From the sounds of it Saki hates her job and has no idea why humans picked QueerRats to do their dirty work. Her boss calls her over as she has a visitor. It is Satoru and Saki explains that the two had a falling out over something dumb and she hadn't seen him for a while. Her boss excuses himself and Satoru explains that a group of QueerRats were attacked recently and things are looking pretty fishy. Saki acts all adult like about the situation which Satoru muses at and the two seem to squash their problems. Still due to politics being what they are in the QueerRat world things could get complicated fast. It appears Saki tells her boss what she knows and her boss summons the heads of the village to discuss the matter. Granny calls in the leaders of the two QueerRat factions Yakomaru and Kiroumaru as one of them attacked the Moth Goat colony as it is not affiliated with either. Yakomaru and his creepy self say they are trying to get the Goat Moth colony to join them but hasn't had much luck yet. Kiroumaru basically says um look how suspicious Yakomaru the end. Granny picks up on the fact that Yakomaru knows way too much about the Goat Moth colony. Add in the fact that Yakomaru's faction is no longer going with the old system of Queen in charge and no one knows what to believe. Nothing is really solved and Saki agrees to the challenge of war between the two parties. She and her co-worker watch the war as the sides seem well stocked with weapons including guns. The co-worker notes that they are getting this technology from somewhere and not to underestimate them. Saki is too busy noticing that Yakomaru and his colony aren't at the battle despite having the biggest beef with Kiroumaru. Kiroumaru eventually wins the skirmish but Satoru reports later there was another attack. Saki thinks that while it looks like a tie for both sides she favors Kiroumaru for the sanctioned battle. Nothing really matters as it is then reported that Kiromaru's entire colony has been wiped out later. THE END!
Photobucket
Serious Saki is not in the mood to talk to Satoru today.
I have no idea why I watch this show. I am pretty sure at this point I just want to torture myself. That I hate myself and I did something in a past life to deserve this self inflicted punishment. I just don't know any more.
Photobucket
Instead we got an episode full of Saki making weird faces.
Maria and Mamoru were not mentioned at all in this episode. Which I guess makes sense since there was a GIANT time skip. The last one we had was two years and now we are looking closer to 12 years. So it makes sense that Saki and Satoru aren't running around being sad over Maria and Mamoru every single day. They have been gone longer than they knew them. But to a viewer it seems....weird. Off putting. Like stop making people forget about things and let us see the fall out from it. But looks like in the next episode they at least get a mention so maybe Satoru kept his promise and didn't forget the lost ones.
Photobucket
Clearly they were thinking....insane things.
Instead of Maria and Mamoru we got an ENTIRE episode devoted to the QueerRats. Every single part of this episode was about them. I wanted to poke my eyes out. Most of them are so gross looking I want to set them on fire. Or eat them. Eat the uglies, raise the cuties. That is why cats are awesome. Had I known that these gross creatures were going to take up half of the plot of this show I probably would have never started watching. Now I can't stop.
Photobucket
Yay QueerRats...
I understand fundamentally that the QueerRats are important to the plot, to show us how the “humans” treat these beings that are clearly intelligent. How they use the QueerRats as their labor and kid killer and general slaves and how these creatures just smile and take it all. Until one of them rises up and convinces at least half of the species to rebel against the “gods”. At this rate we should cheer on the QueerRats as humans have proven to be some shady ass people.
Photobucket
I hope a while is a few months, not a few years.
The fact that Satoru and Saki haven't talked in a while sorta makes me sad. I am not sure how much this while is but her boss at Head of QueerRats didn't know Satoru. And she introduced him as “someone I went to school with”. Not “my dear friend who is a jerk sometimes”. It is just a pile of sad. They went through a lot together and with them losing friends left and right you would think they would fight for this friendship. To say it was something petty is actually how a lot of friendships break up but I thought Satoru and Saki were stronger than that. Not that the petty thing is important just...I wanted them to be closer than they were now. Barely knowing each other and what the other does.
Photobucket
More Lord of the Ring moments I guess.
Not that they needed to get married the moment Maria and Mamoru left. This in danger sex is something the kids use to calm their nerves so I wasn't saying that is why they should remain close. But after all that they have been through who else can understand and listen to their concerns? It is not like they could come back and smile through everything. Talk with all the other kids like it was cupcakes and rainbows. But maybe the petty thing was one of them showing another person attention and the other got jealous? At this point we got no one else to pair up and that seems like the most likely reason to have a fight.
Photobucket
I would be like um can I have a different job? I am sorta a big deal.
Really I am not sure what I was expecting for this episode. 12 years in the future and Saki is working with QueeerRat central and it looks like Satoru is too. Saki was told by Granny she was being groomed to run the village so I wasn't expecting Saki to be working in such a weird...stupid job. Especially after all she knows about the QueerRats. Maybe Satoru and Saki are in these jobs to keep things in check and to stay in the know. Like maybe they can't stop other kids from being squished but maybe they can hold off the squishing? I don't know, the job just seems so odd and not something that I would picture Saki doing if that makes sense.
Photobucket
May we please blow each other up oh great gods?
Did I mention the job sucks and is stupid? I thought the QueerRats bred in the wild and the humans just used different villages for help. What was up with the ones at Saki's job? I like how she talked about how ugly they are and questions why humans would pick these creatures as labor/army forces. Oh speaking of army....QueerRats have to submit a form to go to war? What the hell is this insanity? I mean the asking is weird but why would the humans allow the QueerRats to fight at all? They need them for their labor/war forces do they not?
Photobucket
This amuses me for some odd reason.
Well it might make sense if you think about it. Or that it used to make sense. Worked in the past but now things have changed. But what I am talking about is that the humans would allow the QueerRats to fight among themselves the same way they encouraged the kids to have comfort sex with each other. If the QueerRats are fighting each other they aren't fighting the humans right? Oh yes we make you basically slaves and such but you should totally fight among yourselves. Yes yes indeed.
Photobucket
Is that the first time Saki has mentioned this to anyone?
That will no longer be the case though will it? I guess I should have paid more attention to all of these colonies. Flies. Hornets. Something. Just should have paid attention more. Had I known the QueerRats were going to be so important I would have.
Photobucket
Time for finger pointing.
After many words it was clear what was going on. Yakomaru is building his large group that no longer follow a crazy queen and try to make all QueerRats equal. Kiroumaru is the leader of his large group who is ahead of killing kids and work force. The Goat Moth colony is somewhat in the middle and it appears to the humans they aren't apart of any alliance. Someone attacked the Goat Moth colony and when summoned before the humans both Yakomaru and Kiroumaru present stories that sounds reasonable and paint the other in a bad light. Now.....at this point I would kill all the QueerRats and start off but that is just me.
Photobucket
Maybe Granny should have voiced her concerns a bit louder....
What really was going on was Kiroumaru is actually loyal to humans. Yakomaru hates all humans. All of them. From the beginning of time. He has been playing the role of loyal slave while in the background has been gathering a huge army. A huge army to take over and wipe out the humans. There was a bit of a set back what with the kids always running into them and exposing the situation with the Queen but obviously Saki and Satoru left that out of their report. So the Goat Moth colony was in on their own attack and had humans actually been paying attention during the sanction war they would have realized something was really up. Oh your real enemy didn't show up to battle? Carry on, nothing is weird here.
Photobucket
Is Maria the real mastermind behind this?
It seems that Maria might have a hand in this war which would explain older Saki's thinking that many lives would have been spared without Maria being born. This is a bit disappointing since the QueerRats have enough reason to attack the humans without Maria prodding them. I mean Maria should attack them out of revenge on her own but hooking up with the QueerRats to do so is weird. I guess they would use each other despite not liking each other.
Photobucket
Well....at least they are talking now....
So....not a fan of this timeskip. Not a fan of Saki and Satoru having a falling out as it seems it lasted a while (based on Saki's boss not knowing Satoru). Not a fan of the QueerRats. And not a fan of the gross QueerRat winning this war. But yeah...it is not looking good for humans is it?

Shin Sekai Yori episode 16

Hello there my lovely readers. Anime posts? I shall have some today. Hopefully anyway as Blogger is looking a little off today. Maybe it is just my computer....
Photobucket
Thanks for telling us that Maria. I couldn't have guessed that otherwise.
In any event here is the first of hopefully many posts today. Shin Sekai Yori episode 16 time. Spoilers for snow and gross QueerRats.
Photobucket
Maria lacks at being brief...like me.
Episode Summary: Saki reads the longest goodbye letter on the face of the planet. It was more like a short story. Add in a maybe opening song and half the episode was gone with flashbacks and retelling of all the awfulness of this series. Saki and Satoru read Maria's sad letter as the past 2 years/episodes fly across the screen as well as some new memories. Saki and Maria were friends from the first day of school and on and spent all their time together with sprinkles of Satoru mixed in. Shun and Mamoru seem to be late additions to the group. But mixed in with these happy memories are the reality ones, the ones that show the kids being killed or picked off. Maria talks about how their village is so scared of kids they break them like eggs without seeing how they would be hatched. Maria determines that she might have been able to handle the village for a bit longer but Mamoru was too far gone. Maria doesn't want to leave the village but has to. She asks Saki and Satoru not to follow her and tell them to tell the elders they are dead. She also hopes that since Saki is so strong that she and Mamoru won't be forgotten. Maria is optimistic that they can make it out there on their own and wishes them love. They go back and question Squonk on what happened and where the letter was given to him. Saki gets very upset when she learns it was at the igloo and that there is very little information for them to go on. So Saki and Satoru go to Squealer and tell him that they are going to tell the elders that Maria and Mamoru died. Squealer is super excited about this idea and is eager to dig up some bones and plant them like Maria and Mamoru fell off a cliff. Saki gets upset but Squealer explains that large QueerRats have similar bone structure to humans. He then offers to let them spend the night in a way creepy way.

Insert random Lord of the Rings music here.
Saki and Satoru do spend the night but while out looking the next day 40 year old in the future Saki talks about how the QueerRats were surely using their confusion to take advantage of them. They search for a while and Satoru tells Saki to take a break, that he will steer their vehicles. Saki falls asleep and ends up having an incredibly creepy dream about monsters eating other monsters. At the end of the dream she sees “Shun” and he apparently tells her something that makes her upset. Satoru wakes Saki up from her nightmare and they set off on foot again looking for Mamoru and Maria. They don't find them at the end of the day but Satoru tries to keep up their spirits by saying they still have an entire day left to look for them. Satoru builds them an igloo and talks about random things to try and keep Saki's mind off things. Saki wonders if they will forget Maria and Mamoru like everyone else and Satoru says he won't forget them even if he is dead. Satoru and Saki both agree that if things get worse at the village they will run away and join Maria and Mamoru. Saki says these words but ends up crying because she doesn't believe them. Satoru ends up comforting her in probably many meanings of the word. Saki thinks about their situation and how grim things look. She thinks about how “Shun's” advice to Saki was not to go after Maria and Mamoru because she needs to die. THE END!!!!

How much of a head start did Maria get if the letter is 4839483 pages long?
This series....just so much happiness. So much light. I mean I watch horror shows with no problem but there is something different about this show. It is hard to put my finger on why it is different watching horrible things happen in this show while I am generally okay with sci-fi/horror movies.

How can this village be evil? Look at these happy faces!
Maybe because it because this show, this village looks sparkly and happy. Why just look at the past with Maria and Saki. Playing with their moms, everything looking safe and kid friendly, and generally a sense of peace. Like wow wouldn't it be nice to raise a family here? But then it is revealed that everything is a lie, all the adults know it is a lie, and still people keep having kids and continuing to allow them to be killed. Maybe is the creepy part, that everyone is okay with this death cycle and keep on smiling?

The starting scene of Toyko being attacked. Probably never gets old.
Like I said earlier this was half recap episode/half new material. Again I wasn't TOO disappointed in the recap because of the manner in which it was done. I did think that Maria wrote a novel and it went on for a bit too long but what can you do? It was like they were making this entire episode a filler episode anyway. But with the recycled scenes were the new ones that really hammered home how Saki and Maria were really the core of this group. But thanks for the recap, I almost forgot about how awful this series can at times.

Smashing all those little eggs.
Some of the issues in the recap were a bit....well worth mentioning. Like how ironic it was that Maria was talking about how things are wrong with the village. Maria doesn't know that Saki knows more of the truth than her so for Maria to talk about the dark side of the village was just...ironic. If that is the right use of the word. I do love Maria's analogy about how the kids are getting taken out. Like cracking the eggs because of things they fear in the future, not because of any truth they have now.

And then they beat him up.
Clearly Squealer will end up bring the downfall of someone in this series. Or the kids will kill him. Because he is the shadiest person/creature thing. He keeps saying things like I am unworthy of your presence and stay here in the shit hole tonight even though you gods deserve better and of course I will help you out. But you know he is either working with the adults and is an uncover agent or he is plotting to overthrow all the humans. He is just that shady.

You probably should be scared of the QueerRats too.
Of course Saki and Satoru aren't helping matters any with their attitude. I am sure that is because they have been raised to treat the QueerRats as beneath them but flies and honey folks. Flies and honey. I mean you can be like me and run after the flies and scream at them and accuse them all the time of being shady. Or you can smile and eat up the compliments and wait to hear the explanation on the bones and thank them. Just in your little broken heart know the truth and realize he is the enemy while keeping your inner thoughts.....inner. Be the Katniss.

I don't see Shun there do you?
I love how Satoru is really protecting Saki. Again why did she pick Shun? We didn't even see him in any of those flashbacks. At least we saw a bit of Satoru. But yes Satoru is going through just as many things as Saki. Maybe more because he doesn't know the truth? I only say that because at least Saki understands what could happen and why things are happening while Satoru just knows....its bad. But still he takes the time to try to cheer Saki up and take her mind off things. Even to go as far as make up small talk and....well maybe have the “sex stress”.

Shun is the least dead person ever.
Saki's dream was messed up. At least it was not as crazy as her Fail-Eevee induced nightmare and the death of Shun horror house. We get it everything is horrible. But the important part of the dream was “Shun” talking to Saki. I am a bit tired of the oh they are saying something but we can't hear what it is until the end of the episode. This show has enough with the mystery without having to guess what people are saying or waiting to hear what is said. But how does dead Shun know anything about Maria?
Photobucket
Um....they have been doing a pretty good job of that so far...
Another episode was spent looking for Maria and Mamoru yet they were not found. Adult Saki chimed in here and there to remind us that she is certainly going to survive this all but everyone is a suspect!!! I mean expendable. I usually don't get upset while watching this show but seeing Saki trying to keep it together but failing because she knows the truth was hard to watch. It is not like Satoru and Saki are looking for an injured person. They are looking for people who are moving around and potentially hiding from them. At this point they really can't find Mamoru and Maria and they know it. But Saki knows that their lives outside the village will be short. I doubt Maria and Mamoru would really spend the rest of their lives in the wilderness. Eventually they were going to come across other humans and that would mean death for them both.

And then there was two.
The sneak peak for next week shows that Saki and Satoru do not find Maria and Mamoru. Fast Forward to age 24 (or was it 26?). yeah that is a big leap in numbers. Me thinks it was 26. Either way Saki and Satoru aren't going to find Maria and Mamoru. Does that mean they are out there in the woods, making little unsanctioned babies that aren't under the watch of the egg smashing village? Perhaps that is what everyone means by Maria needs to die. If these time skips keep happening perhaps the series will end at 40 year old Saki looking at the destruction that Maria's teenage kid created. Of course that wouldn't be fair as it would be partially Mamoru's fault. Why all this Maria hate? Either way it is really going to be lonely for Saki. And then there were two. At least......Saki and Satoru won't be in danger anymore right? Congrads Satoru you live!!!!!
