Give me a double!!
Episode Summary: In an effort to forgot the horrible thing Haru just did to her (the kiss) Shizuku orders everything in the restaurant. Haru comments on her eating but is happy to be at the place with her. Shizuku tries to forgot about the entire situation which is hard for her to do. At school those who did not pass the mid terms must retake them or they will be forced to take remedial classes. Haru is one of the students who didn’t pass but that is because he didn’t put his name on any of his tests. Shizuku notices that had he put his name on the papers he would have beat her. All of this is forgot as Haru has brought a chicken to school. He decides to keep it outside the building during school hours until someone wants it. Shizuku continues to try and focus on her studies. Yet she notices that her world is changing and it is hard to focus. There is slight interaction with Shizuku and her father as they work at their family business (a grocery store it seems) but Shizuku seems to want answers to how she feels and how she can go back to those times. She walks home with Haru and tries to ask Haru how/why she loves him when a girl comes out of nowhere and trips on a garbage can. She begs Shizuku for help.

Asking for help is serious business.....
Back at Haru’s new favorite restaurant the girl Natsume explains that she failed all her tests and needs Shizuku to help her pass. Haru notices how much the girls eat and Shizuku declines to help. Shizuku and Haru leave the restaurant and Natsume chases after them. She ends up throwing up because she ate too much. Natsume says she overeats as to not appear too cute to boys. Natsume tries to explain to Shizuku that if Natsume has to take the remedial classes she will miss her online group’s first meeting. Natsume explains she has a hard time making friends in real life as she is cute and the boys like her and the girls are jealous of her. Shizuku still doesn’t want to help but Haru is interested with the online friend aspect. He agrees to tutor Natsume if he can go too. Haru’s tutoring technique involves a lot of name calling and specialness and Shizuku finds their presence disturbing. Shizuku runs into Haru later and she asks why this online meeting is so important. Tending to the chicken Haru says that he had an emptiness inside him and he wants to be around people. But now that he has Shizuku it isn’t so bad. During the next study session they do it away from Shizuku. Shizuku finds herself bored and complaining about the nonexistent background noise. While not studying a baseball player named Sasahara comes up to Shizuku. He pretends to like her but really he wants to know how Haru is doing. Apparently they went to middle school together but Haru barely attended. Shizuku then asks Sasahara for a favor.

Note to self: Haru is not a good tutor.
Before leaving school Shizuku sees Natsume flopped over on her desk, convinced she will fail her tests. Shizuku sees Haru outside and confirms he wants to go to the online meeting. So Shizuku decides to give Natsume a few pointers which turns into giving the girl an all nighter study session at the game center. As a result Natsume passes and both go to the online real life meeting. Only Natsume was flocked by the boys which caused the girls to hate her and Haru got in a fight. Shizuku smirks at this all but finds herself overwhelmed with all this people contact. She goes to the roof to think but Natsume and Haru find her. Haru lets Shizuku sleep on the roof instead of waking her up and getting upset that she was hiding from him. He forces Shizuku to stay on the roof when she does wake up and Shizuku is forced to take a minute and see the world. She realizes there is more to life than yourself and tests. She decides her life has changed and tells Haru she loves him. THE END! Oh and the favor that Sasahara is doing is taking care of the chicken. THE REAL END!

I hope this was out of 40. Or 50....
X_____X What the hell is this show? End of episode 2 and the ice princess confesses she loves Haru?! So they are going to have sex next episode, have a pregnancy scare episode 4, and by episode 6 be an old married couple. Just WHOOSH! So fast.
Photobucket
Dad what is up with this attitude?
Shizuku talked about the old her like it was years and years ago. She JUST met Haru. Granted he is a force of nature and having your first kiss stole might be an eye opener. But….she just changed so fast. All this fast heart beat and being nervous around him…she should be nervous because he clocked her in the face. What happened to not caring about people?!
Photobucket
You can think about others and still study your little heart out.
Oh yeah Shizuku did talk about that for a bit. That the only person that matters is her and that is her world. It might have made more sense had she had a rough home life but her father seemed nice with what little we saw of him. Maybe she is worried about money due to the fact they run a grocery store and the income might not always be stable? But it is different focusing on your studies and saying other people don’t matter. But yeah I guess she did mention that aspect of herself…while acting totally different.
Photobucket
Such a romantic thing to say!
I am sorta mad that Natsume interrupted Shizuku’s conversation with Haru. I wanted to know where Shizuku was going with the whole so you love me thing. Although Haru and his Yeah I’d Do You answer might have killed the conversation anyway. But where was she going with this? Like how do you know that you love me because maybe if describe those feelings to me I will understand how I feel. But since Shizuku and Haru are both special maybe the conversation was going nowhere.
Photobucket
Yeah. So hot indeed.
Natsume is a bit of a hot mess. I can see begging the person who got the highest mark in class for help but not being so nervous that I get covered in garbage. And to need help in EVERY subject? How the hell did you get into school in the first place? At least it is becoming clear why Shizuku and Haru are going to have friends, because these people are just as messed up as they are. XD Natsume is like woe is me I am so cute the boys love me and the girls hate me!!!

Of course I don’t think that was the weirdness that we were to assign to Natsume. It was more her internet personality and how that is where she feels real or something. Like oh look an internet otaku. But despite this all she SEEMS like a nice person. Despite the fact that Haru ended up ruining her internet meet-up she seems to want to be friends with both Haru and Shizuku. I might have stayed clear of those two. But maybe she realized that she could be their friends and not be lonely anymore. Only that she leaves special articles up on her computer and Shizuku is now scared.
Photobucket
No. NOT THE FACE!!!
I think Haru hears the word friend and it takes him to some magical place where everything will be okay if only you had a friend. Only he doesn’t really know how to be friend and ends up smashing people in faces. Just way too harsh. But I can see why he thought this internet meetup was a good idea because they would be fresh folk who didn’t know about him. Only someone says something he doesn’t like and it is a head smashing time.

Names are hard work!!!!
Haru being smart is…well I guess socially awkward people are more likely to be smart. Not sure if that applies to Haru given how special he is but it comes natural to him and it probably pisses Shizuku off. And while Haru might be smart how does one forget to put their name on every single test? I just assumed that Shizuku beat him on exam day because Haru wasn’t there. But now he is smart and has no common sense. And really if you want to make friends calling someone stupid is probably not the best way about it.

Hello there random chicken.
It does seem that people at school aren’t as scared of Haru as they were…but still acknowledge that he is weird. Like who brings a chicken to school. Like who?! I don’t think chickens make good pets nor do they deserve to live in a box. Also besides the point maybe the kids at school have a right to be scared of Haru. The first day of school Haru was defending someone else but since then Haru has been harsh with other people. So….yeah they might not be hiding in the hallways but I don’t see them sitting down to eat a meal with Haru.

My heart...I'm FEELING!!!
Throughout the episode Shizuku was going through some personal traumas inside. She was getting upset that Haru and Natsume were studying in the same room as her. But then the day they weren’t with her she was unable to study. She questioned Haru on why he wanted to go to this online meeting so much and seemed shocked by his empty inside answer. And in the end she was the one who helped Natsume with the studying process just to help Haru be happy. Rollercoaster of Shizukuness!

Exactly what I was thinking.
But I do think that the entire segment with Sasahara was odd. Really odd and out of place. Haru has been in school for over a month and now Sasahara is curious on how this happened? I just don’t understand the connection or why it happened. Nor do I understand why Shizuku thought that asking this kid to take care of the chicken. It was weird. Weird because Sasahara seems normal and the conversation was anything but normal.
Photobucket
Truly I am shocked by this all.
Haru and Natsume not having a good time at the internet meet up was expected. Natsume has trouble with real life interactions with people and somehow she thought that would change because she talked to them online first? Maybe if she just met with the GIRLS it wouldn’t happen. Haru….well he needs to learn that people will have different opinions. And as long as they aren’t opinions that hurt others like limiting options for women on what to do with their bodies and how many penises/vaginas can make up a marriage maybe Haru should let them go. Not sure what the fight was about sometimes in friendships you smile and nod to get through the conversation.
Photobucket
I...what? X___X
So after all was said and done Shizuku needed a nap to refresh herself from all this human interaction. Sounds slightly familiar. And then, on top of the roof looking at the sky for the first time…she decides that she loves Haru. X___X What the hell folks?! I know I have said in the past that shoujo mangas can be a little predictable and that stupid people who don’t get the love vibes until the end get on my nerves but this sets a new record right?! Just so much at once. And didn’t she tell Haru maybe he doesn’t love her because he doesn’t know what friends are all about? Maybe the same can be applied to Shizuku. Yes there has been moments when Haru has been sweet and vulnerable but how doesn’t she know that might happen with other people? Other people that might not lose their minds the other 95 percent of the time?!
Photobucket
YAY! Everything is magical!
In conclusion I saw someone say that the pacing of this show is slow. I am just going to have to chalk that up to a difference of opinion because whoa folks. I feel as if I watched the entire series already! X__X So weird.

Yaay~ Christina watched Tonari and left Hiiro no Kakera as I suggested. Or maybe she will watch HnK too.
:-)

Haru didn't love her. He only wants her body. Lol.

But yes, it feels like this show has ended already, in two episode. I really wonder what will happen next. Is there even another plot to tell? It's really hard to endure my desire to read the manga. Hehe.

This show can't be over by episode 2. They still need to tell the mini-arc stories of complete, nonsensical randomness like time travel, aliens, pointless fan(dis)service or trying to be the next Black Rock Shooter with CGI battles.

It doesn't need a plot. It just has to be funny. :)

Eternia- I realized how LITTLE happened in the first season of Potato Princess and how much more time I would be wasting if I blogged it again. It would just be easier to read Wiki as nothing major ever happens. Now that I said that season two will be amazing. (Lies)

I think we are so used to a particular formula with shows like this our brains can't comprehend such a quick pace. While it is annoying when someone is oblivious to the affections of others...episode 2?! Both people are saying I love you? Weird.

Anonymous- Maybe all the plot was done in the first two episodes so they can explode, dissect, and travel to space without character and relationship development holding them back! Hopefully it moves towards actual funny jokes and not crazy lines about rape. X___X
