Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate episode 12 FINAL EPISODE!

Dear Lord it feels like it has been ten thousand years since I blogged any anime. I planned on having some posts up earlier today but the husband and I tried taking me OUTSIDE *gasps* to do some simple chores and see if I am well enough for work tomorrow. Bleh. Need to make the mesos to have more adventures! We shall see….and it is only 4.5 hours tomorrow. So maybe I will manage. Cross yo fingers.

I'm late all the time so don't worry.
For now it is Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate time. LAST EPISODE! Can’t start the new anime season if the old one is still hanging over my head folks. Spoilers for episode 12 ending…like cupcakes and chocolate.

Was he there all night?!
Episode Summary: Yuuki wakes up with their papers and treasures from the bridal event all over the ground but no sign of Chisato. He answers his ringing phone and the creepy voice on the other side claims to have Chisato. Person on the phone says that they will return Chisato if Yuuki follows orders and tells no one what is going on. Yuuki is given instructions on where to go next on his wild goose chase. Michuri and Yakumo are visiting with a now awake Kana when Yuina walks in. Yuina pretends everything is smiles and rainbows and reminds Yakumo he has an election to oversee. Yuina promises to stay and help watch Kana whom was never in any real danger right? They are all friends. When Yakumo leaves Yuina tries to pump Kana for information on what happened when she got hit by the car and if there are any more pictures. Michuri alerts Kana to Yuina being a black color thus the girls decide to be quiet. Yuina eventually leaves the girls anyway.

At Snack Eating R Us everyone is in a panic as a negative article about Yuuki has just been published. Hidaka runs out to find out why her own paper would publish the article as Mifuyu tries calling Yuuki. He hangs up on her as he rushes to get to all these telephones to get his next clue on where Chisato. It becomes obvious that Yuuki is being lead far away from the school. The Snack Club is in a panic as before the election each candidate is to make a speech. Thankfully Yuuki is given the last slot but they still need to find them. Hidaka comes back in and informs everyone that sometimes he dresses up as a girl so he can get more information from people. She then explains that her club cheated and registered her as two separate people to get more funding. This somehow ends up with the club being in the back pocket of the General Affairs people thus the article on Yuuki was printed. Yakumo is called by Kana and told to check her phone which apparently Yakumo has. This leads him to informing the Snack Club he has put tracking devices on all of them. As Yuuki is missing his time slot the voice on the phone is interrupted by Yakumo telling Yuuki where Chisato is. Yuina looks up from her creepy voice changer to see Yakumo glaring at her. Turns out Kana downloaded all the pictures on her other phone before the car (driven by Yuina) hit her. Kana is all shrugs, saying that this is what elections are all about and she belongs to a different faction thus it doesn’t matter if they the Safety Commission or the General Affairs is in power. Yakumo arrests Yuina because in this anime…kids can do that to other kids.

Please don't let her watch me...
A beat up and tired Yuuki finally finds Chisato in her underwear. He hugs her as she wakes up. She asks why he isn’t at the election and he says that nothing matters but her. She is the most important thing to him ever. So…she hits him in the head and says for now you belong to everyone. Ai and Kii show up to bike Yuuki and Chisato to the speech podium. Yuuki makes it in time to say his name before he runs out of time. He starts causing a scene and before he is thrown out Satsuki stands and says that it would be an injustice to not hear all the candidates speech. She basically forces Moheiji to agree with her. Yuuki instead of explaining why he was late and looks like crap…explains he was in Yakumo’s back pocket the entire time and he didn’t run the campaign truthfully. He wanted to help the financial aid students but instead he followed Yakumo’s rules on how to smile and say the right things. Yuuki says even though he started his campaign to only save the Snack Club now he wants to help the entire school and stop the fighting. Sometime in the future Yuuki is elected President, Satsuki is Vice-President and in the Snack Club, and Isara is in the club meaning the financial aid students have been freed. Yuuki isn’t around at the moment as Chisato and him are paying their respects to Chisato’s brother. Chisato is able to eat chocolate again and they share in a kiss. THE END!

going to beat you! Shocking I know!
MOG! This ending was not predictable at all and it was totally worth the wait. I mean…it is not like every single episode I clicked on had NO SUBTITLES passed the first minute and I wasted precious Pokemon moments on this show. So special indeed.

So much running! Made me tired!
I did feel bad for Yuuki though. I am sure he knew he was being led away from the school the entire time but what could he do? He knew he was being watched and giving anyone a head’s up might put Chisato in danger. I might have said PSHT he is being overly concerned, these are just teenagers. But after all this spy and run over nonsense…Yuuki did the right thing. Just so tiring him watching him do all that running. :( Poor Yuuki.

What do all those words say?!
Little did he know that back at the school he was the talk of the town. School elections are SERIOUS business. In case kidnapping Chisato wasn’t enough another plot was taking place to make sure Yuuki was not elected. I am not sure what the scandal was about but it made the Snack Club get all X__X face. Such a stressed out bunch. Of course they would have been worried when Yuuki didn’t show up so…was all this tension necessary?

Did you guys forget or something.....
Oh it was the writer’s feeble to explain what was going on with Hidaka? I see now. While Hidaka’s real gender was never explained I guess….well no. Hidaka wasn’t doing a good job being sneaky. Wearing both kinds of uniforms could have gotten more information out of people had Hidaka done it in a sneaky way. But when people SEE you doing it and KNOW what you are doing it comes across as weird. And unnecessary. Was Hidaka’s club really in danger of being shut down because there wasn’t enough members or was it all about the money? Just….sad. Maybe Hidaka is confused gender wise but this subplot came really at the 11th hour and seemed…odd. Just odd. Everyone is dirty folks! No clubs are clean.

Michuri=creepy.
Why does Yakumo have Kana’s phone? Shouldn’t her parents have it? Oh I forgot kids are all powerful at this school. But it does make sense that Yuina didn’t think to check for another phone since most Japanese people tend to have those flippy phones. Kana is smart and Yuina is…well smart too. Just not smart enough. But Michuri’s special ability is special and wasn’t explained at all.

Pay no attention to those details. We got cute girls and tons of crazy threatening situations!
Which I think was my problem with most of this show. A lot of great ideas were thrown at the viewers but not many were explained. Probably because there were only 12 episodes. 5 girls and only 12 episodes? Yeah a lot got left behind. Like what was Michuri’s powers all about? And come to think about it Isara really didn’t get much love did she? Just beat up on and the apparent promise that Yuuki was going to make it all better. The three other girls had decent back stories and what not but all the other characters were like MEH who cares.
Photobucket
Because he is god or something?
I really never understood exactly that this faction business was all about but I got enough of it to…roll my eyes and think MOG these are kids? Where are the teachers? Kids are getting hit by cars and stealing money?! These elections are scary folks! Yuina…yeah. Would have liked to see her had more people behind her to make all this happen but she was pretty evil. And such a gentle voice to boot.
Photobucket
Where is my girl you punks?!?!?!?!
I love how Yuuki was so relived to find Chisato. That the first things out of his mouth were that the election didn’t matter and his world is Chisato. They didn’t have to be reasonable words but I think Yuuki needed to say them. Like of course none of this nonsense matters, it is a high school election. Soon you will be graduating and out in the real world where HOPEFULLY there will be consequences for your action. While the Snack Club is right saving Chisato was more important. He was rewarded with a slap of course…which he deserves after what he did to Chisato. At least he made steps in the right direction of me not hating him anymore. XD

So much honesty!
Ai and Kii riding those bikes to provide power for the campaign came in handy as they got Yuuki to his speech in time. Well in time enough not to be disqualified. Satsuki and her only contribution to this episode was to make sure Yuuki got his speech. After all elections do need rules but when one party is breaking all the rules things have to change. Or the power of friendship. Either way.
Photobucket
Yeah Yakumo!
Yuuki said things…that I wasn’t really expecting him to say. I would have been LOOK I was out looking for my friend who was kidnapped by So and So. DO NOT VOTE FOR THEM! Me or Satsuki. That is it. That is what I would have done. Yuuki went down the honest route which I guess is good too. Maybe after seeing all this lying and craziness going behind the scenes Yuuki decided he was going to start off with a clean slate. Which is honorable. I am really glad he talked about the financial aid students as I think he should have mentioned them before. But he really talked to the people and was real. Keep it real Yuuki.

Everything is better with yaoi sticks!
Which apparently gets him elected. Just WHOOSH we have only 3 minutes left cram EVERYTHING in these minutes or else it won’t get wrapped up that nicely. Well…it didn’t. Isara being at the club means that the financial aid issue got solved but it was never spoken. Personally I think some people needed ass kickings. Satsuki is Vice President…which is how elections SHOULD be held. First place President second place Vice President. Satsuki is in her own Financial Council Section, Vice President of the Student Council, AND a new member of the Snack Club. ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY! All the problems are solved folks!
Photobucket
Look Mom, all better! Not that you care!
The episode ends with Chisato coming to terms with her brother’s death. I think this girl needs a lot more counseling and therapy and tons of other things to get over her brother’s death. Oh and she was kidnapped! Tons of things happened to her and she was messed up. But hey everything is okay with a chocolate bar and a Yuuki kiss. Chisato…while suffering her issues….had a REAL problem and it seems like such a waste to throw that realness away to glide over the issue.
Photobucket
The person who probably should have won.....
I am almost at 2,000 words so I will glide on over to have a nice day and this show is done. Way too short of a series if they wanted to cover all this material. As a result everything felt half assed and I am now afraid of all high school students. WOOHOO! Goodnight!

It's finally over. The mediocrity of harem anime #1000 is over. I don't see how there can be a second season of this. I'm guessing the ratings of "generic harem anime #1000" are dismal to "meh", which guarantee that the creators won't be encouraged to make another season. I could be wrong, and they would probably pull a supernatural detective story out of nowhere or become something like Black Butler or hire Gen Urobuchi to write the next Madoka.

My greatest criticism of this show is the overblown high school election politics and crazy melodrama that was resolved too quickly. It was so serious that I couldn't suspend my disbelief and go, "Really? All this for a high school election?". Animation and character designs were sub-par to decent. Soundtrack, nothing memorable. Overall, a mediocre harem anime that pales in comparison to more note worthy shows like Tenchi Muyo, Rosario + Vampire, and yes, School Days. Still, I guess animators, and voice actors need money, so this anime fulfills its purpose for the industry.

To end on a positive note, Michuri was quirky and adorable. :)

Anonymous- I think so much hype was focused on the crazy election and the crazier kids running people over the "love" interests were barely focused on. Some characters were barely touched on. Chisato was a crazy puff no doubt but all that hurt and pain can't be solved over night. Magically all the financial aid students weren't picked on? All this drama was built up to a panic point but then it all fell flat with simple answers and smiles. So yes...this show doesn't deserve a second season. It probably deserved a LONGER season to better explain the characters and make them real. Instead we got comedy and serious behavior thrown at us and it was done in such a way that it didn't feel funny or grim. Just...meh.
