Hello there my lovely readers! I have a lot of posts sitting in the queue just waiting for last minute finishes. Like taking screenies and such. So while it looks like I have been a lazy Tenchi…well I have but still managed to get some stuff done.

Let me just slip that mystery in there for ya....
Episode Summary: The festival is underway and Satoshi is attending a quiz event. The host and hostess are the most excited people on the planet which helps the mood of the event. After a really cool opening theme song (Houtarou stuck in a looking glass seeing other characters before making it back to his club) the contest starts with preliminary questions. Since the event is outside other characters including Mayaka can hear the questions. Mayaka is trying to make the best of her club’s booth and talks to the nice people in her group. Satoshi makes it to the final 4 but he isn’t surprised by that. While waiting in line to be introduced Satoshi is approached by another finalist. Satoshi doesn’t remember the dude but said dude knows Satoshi and says he has something interesting to tell Satoshi about the Go Club. Satoshi is like okay…and goes on stage to make the grandest announcement about the Classics Club and how everyone needs to visit their booth to learn about the secret of the festival. The crowd goes wild and Satoshi is happy with his advertisement. Satoshi does not win the competition, mainly due to the last question being about a student at the school but is fine since he advertised the club. The Go Club member tells Satoshi that some of their Go stones were stolen and he has no idea why.

This doesn't actually pan out so I don't care.
Eru has made it back to the club room exhausted because of all the fun she has had. Houtarou informs her that Satoshi did well with his random advertising which gives Eru the idea to run to the Newspaper Club and ask them to run an ad for them. She meets with the Smoking Dude from like episode 2 and states he can’t help as he is a third yearer and no longer in the club. But he says unless their club does something super interesting the newspaper will not run an ad for them. On the way back to the club room Eru runs into her old friend Kaho who is running a fortune telling booth. Kaho explains she cannot give Eru a Tarot reading as one of her cards has been stolen and a note was left in its place saying it will be returned after the festival. Sounds like a mystery to me!!! Houtarou is nearly shocked when a customer comes to the club room wanting to know the secret of the festival’s history. Houtarou points out that the customer has his fly down. To help out with the broken zipper Houtarou gives the safety pin of his winning fashion button. As a thank you the customer gives Houtarou a water gun that he was going to use later after cooking some food.

It is almost like she is stating facts and Mayaka is just angry that she is right.
At the manga club things are not going well and the older club member that picked on Mayaka tries to pin the failure of the booth on her…indirectly. That no one wants to read a manga review book as people will like what they like and reviews are based on preference. Mayaka feels challenged and goes up against the older club member. Mayaka thinks that masterpieces are created while the older club member says that readers like what they like and it is based on fans what becomes possible. Mayaka says she will prove her older club member wrong, by showing her a manga she has that is new and a masterpiece from day one. Mayaka turns around and sees that one club member made a sign (like was suggested) advertising the fight and the room is full. At the close of the day the Classic Club meets to talk about what has happened. Mayaka is tight lipped about the Manga Club while Houtarou lies about how many copies he sold. Satoshi has to ask Mayaka and Eru to join his Cooking Club event which will leave Houtarou to run things by himself. Eru starts to mention the Tarot Club mystery but changes her mind. That night Mayaka tears her room apart to find that particular manga but to no avail. THE END!

Eru was having her share of fun too though.
I think Satoshi’s excitement bug over the school festival might be catching. I have other animes that have been up and subbed for much longer but I was like HAHA lets watch Hyouka instead and heck with being fair! Because I pretend animes are alive and have feelings and understand the concept of fair.

Look at me being useful to the club!!!
A great deal of the episode was dedicated to Satoshi taking part in the Quiz Show. I must say that it was fun to watch and it looked like it was fun to participate in. Maybe I am not that creative or maybe they were just copying another type of game show but I was impressed how they picked their contestants. Basically everyone was suspect…I mean contestant with preliminary questions. So the crowd is really a whole mess of contestants with all the answers being true or false. That way the field can be narrowed down and everyone got a chance to play instead of picking 4 people from the start. Fun yes?

Behold the amazing hat!!!
I loved how excited the host and…cohost were? Jumping up and down and making things way over dramatic…just like how real Japanese game show hosts are. I love when the female host cheered on the guy down in points and how the male host was exhausted from screaming so much. I wonder what club they were from….seemed interesting in any event and how those fun hats…especially on Satoshi’s head. XD
Photobucket
He doesn't even know who you are. XD
The interaction with the random Go Club member was a bit…well random. Satoshi seemed very uncomfortable himself. Does he jump around from club to club? How does he know so many people? In any event that guy was giving off a totally creepy vibe. But he added to what would be the mystery for this festival arc. Apparently the Go Club has experienced some low level theft. A few Go stones were stolen but since there are tons of stones things won’t be affected for them. So while weird Go Club member is weird he did add something to the mystery so I guess it was worth it.
Photobucket
Only member? SO sad. :(
Eru herself ran into an “old friend” that added to the mystery. High school kids with old friends make me laugh. But yes on old friend who is the only member of her club? Or was she the only one running the booth. Can’t be the only member…SIDETRACK TENCHI! The friend reveals to Eru that someone stole one of her tarot cards thus she was unable to do any readings. But a note was left saying that the card would be returned after the festival as well a copy of the brochure that lists all the clubs. Now maybe the real mystery is the fact that Eru didn’t jump all over this and go sparkly eyes on us.
Photobucket
Why didn't Eru's eyes get bigger?!
So for the record three things have gone officially missing during the festival. A bottle water (which…was probably easily replaced), one specific tarot card, and a few Go stones. What could the thief possibly want with all that stuff? Perhaps he/she have stolen more and it will become clear later. Or maybe a club is doing a scavenger hunt game and these are some of the items. Either way I have my eye on you…everyone.
Photobucket
At least interesting people are coming to visit him yes?
Houtarou is slowly losing his mind. Also I thinks he might be a liar. See Satoshi did a magical song and dance about how his club found out a mystery about the festival and for the low low price of 200 yen they can find out too. We see one person come to the club room and buy a copy. Now maybe some people came later but the number of 12 sold sent up a red flag with me. 8 copies between club members, one for an adviser, and one to be archived. So what does that leave? One to the punk and one to the upperclassmen. That makes 12. Of course Houtarou could have been talking about 12 other sales and not counting his “other sales” but I don’t think that is the case. Silly Houtarou. Giving people hope. But it made Satoshi happy so maybe his lies were worth it.
Photobucket
Here you go, something you need so you can give me something someone else WILL need.
Houtarou seems to be having a little game going on with himself and doesn’t even know it. He started off with a broken useless pen from his sister. He then gives away said useless pen away to the punk student who then gifts him with the winning number for their fashion show. I thought that was going to help them advertise later for their club. Then Houtarou gives away the safety pin on the back of the winning number to someone with a broken fly. He was then gift a very realistic looking water gun. So will this keep on going until Houtarou is given something that will solve the anthology problem? Like oh snap if you give me that I will buy all the copies or the item will bring so much publicity to the club people will run to buy the copies themselves? A very subtle thing going on here… I just hope the sister isn’t credited in being amazing as this is the most random event ever. XD
Photobucket
So it was Mayaka's idea to do this booth and no one else said nope sounds stupid? Well then it is everyone's fault.
Mayaka does not seem to be having much fun with this festival. She is the one who accidentally ordered all these anthology copies. She has been forgiven but I am sure she still feels guilty. There was some previous conflict in her manga club about wearing costumes or not. She ends up wearing one but since she doesn’t have the correct shoes she might as well be naked. And now there is an argument between her and an older club member.
Photobucket
Oh snaps is it time for a throw down?!
I am not going to pretend to completely understand the older/younger person relationship in Japan even though I have extensive anime learnings. XD But I do know that the older club member was beign a jerk and Mayaka took the bait hooked, lined, and sinkered. I actually think Mayaka was mostly wrong in what she said. I am not sure why the older classmate was blaming Mayaka for the room setup. Maybe Mayaka just assumed she was and went bonkers. But Mayaka got very passionate about what they made for their festival booth. A book about manga reviews. I think that the older club member had a point, that mangas are very subjective and people like what they like. Mayaka trying to say that masterpieces are created by the writer not the fans…I don’t know about that.
Photobucket
She makes a lot of sense despite that evil smile of hers...
That sums up my feelings on the matter. I really don’t know what Mayaka was doing. It looked like she took the bait from the older club member when really maybe both girls were right? Manga is very subjective though. Everyone feels as if the older club member was being an ass and I am not sure why that was directed towards Mayaka but I feel as if she was more correct in this situation. Perhaps some mangas are masterpieces but I think it is the fans that determine how truly successful something can be. I mean…if you create a masterpiece and no one cares about it I guess it wasn’t a masterpiece right? Mayaka was having a magical moment there.
Photobucket
I wants the pillow rug thingy things!!!
Now despite how wrong or less right Mayaka is…her room was pretty amazing. She was pulling mangas out of the sky folks. She was like BAM is it over here? No so maybe it is over here? BAM maybe it is in this magical box or under my bed or in the attic space. Very impressive room. XD But isn’t that what we expect from any otaku fan? Just very organized. Not much in terms of character goods though. Still a pretty awesome room. And no I don’t think that the festival bandit has anything to do with Mayaka misplacing her manga. XD
Photobucket
You better appreciate all that hard work we put into that! All for 200 yen!
So…in conclusion Eru has none nothing but have fun at something meant to have fun at, Satoshi’s advertisements were in vain, and Mayaka probably wishes the festival was over by now. Houtarou hasn’t had one ounce of fun yet and it doesn’t look like he will have any fun tomorrow as everyone else is going to go to the cooking competition. What else will go missing and what else will Houtarou receive as useless/useful gifts? Stay tuned folks! XD
