Shugo Chara Doki Episode 78 and 79

Okay. I am massively behind on my Weekly Anime post. Horribly behind. So behind the thought of trying to catch up almost makes my head explode. And blogging should not make me "stressed" like that.

So..in an attempt to keep my sanity and try to cater to my lazy nature, I will break my Weekly Anime up this week in an attempt to catch up. The plan is to do Shugo Chara today, Chrome Shelled Regios Tomorrow, and Asura Cryin' either Wednesday or Thursday (depends on when 07-Ghost gets subbed).

That is only the plan and hopefully I can get it all done so I can get back on schedule. Feeling far behind is seriously no fun! But now on to the blogging!

Ikuto is not amused with Episode 78!

Amu has given up looking for Tadase and is in her room being sad and emo like. She thinks back a whole hour when Ikuto was so CRUEL to Tadase. Amu is concerned about going to school the next day but her Charas tell her all will be okay. Tadase’s Chara is trying to cheer him up but Tadase rather pretend nothing is wrong with him. Amu gets to the garden and finds out that Tadase is not there. She is sad when she sees the newspaper article about how she and Tadase were mentioned as best couple. Tadase’s Chara shows up and announces that Tadase is sick and won’t be attending school. The rest of the Guardians were in the process of trying to cheer Amu up when they find out this news…so they decide that Amu will be their representative and visit Tadase after school. Ikuto is locked up somewhere with his floating violin and all is sad. After school Amu really doesn’t want to visit Tadase and still being all emo. Lulu senses a lost child and finds out it is Amu. Instead of jeweling her Lulu Character changes and tells Amu to be awesome and strong like she normal is. Lulu runs off shocked that she behaved like that as Nana laughs at her.

Despite Lulu cheering Amu up…Amu still doesn’t want to go see Tadase and ends up in the mall. She runs into some random twins. One twin likes a boy and wants to buy him a gift while the other twin is supporting her. Amu is shocked at their closeness and is sad because she ruined the closeness between her and Tadase. So Amu goes to a park bench and is emo again. Elsewhere these random twins get in the world’s tiniest disagreement over the fact that the other twin likes the same boy. Lulu jewels them and they start to fight. During Amu’s latest emo attack the other Guardians run up and tell Amu what is up. They go to the scene to see the twins fighting and being stupid. Amu transforms and tries to fight but she is still feeling emo about Tadase and nearly gets squished. The Guardians hold an impromptu CHEER UP AMU meeting during the fight and Amu is able to continue on. The twins make up and laugh at their stupid fight and Lulu is being weird off in the corner. Amu decides that even though today was stupid and special, there is still tomorrow and she can talk to Tadase then. THE END!

And maybe tomorrow's episode can be better too?

Well color me unimpressed. And very bored. And disappointed. I am not sure why I am disappointed. I knew last week that the previews were less than stellar. Plus you know…it is illegal to have three good episodes in a row on this show. Let’s just hope we won’t have to put up with 5 fillers before we get to a halfway decent episode again.

Photobucket

I SAID NOT AMUSED!

Amu was upset the entire episode. Sure she had moments where she thought everything was going to be okay…but then she went back to being depressed and unsure of herself. It was annoying. When people “get it’ and resolve to be a better, stronger person I want them to actually…become a better, stronger person. But 5 minutes later Amu was back to being unsure of her decisions and wavering in her resolve. It was annoying.

Photobucket

Even Lulu is shocked about the about of emoness in this episode.

Sometimes I think Amu is a really weird friend. When I am having guy troubles or any kind of trouble I would tell my girlfriends and they would console me on the matter and try to make it better with ice cream. Instead Amu keeps everything bottled up and lies about how everything is okay. :( Please be a better friend.

Photobucket

But she can totally talk to random strangers about their problems?

And for the rest of you Guardians…special. I get that visiting a sick friend is a nice gesture but I think visiting them on the first day of their made-up sickness is a bit much. When I am sick in bed and looking like hell warmed over the last thing I want is 4 of my friends to come over and mope all over me. That and it was ONE DAY PEOPLE. Not Earth shattering news that someone misses one day of school.

Photobucket

But they are too busy stopping battles to cheer Amu up!

The friends of the week were annoying which is sad as I like twins. Nami and Nemi were just bleh as lost children go. We don’t even get stupid dreams now like rating ramen. We don't even get sisters who don’t even start to fight about a boy. We just get two sisters who both like the same boy…and that is it. Nothing major or life shattering. If this causes people to be lost in Japan, the Japanese better man up before some series issues come up.

Photobucket

Yeah...just keep walking...

Is there anything else that happened in this episode? We have a sad locked up Ikuto with his glowing violin of doom. We have Amu who is more concerned about Tadase’s feelings than locating Ikuto. Oh and we have a bunch of kids who have a heart to heart talk in the middle of a battle. Real smart. Next episode please.

Inserting random bishies in episode 79!

The Director goes to see the locked up Ikuto. He tells Ikuto it is his fault he is locked up since he had to take the hard route. Ikuto tries to kill him with death glares but it fails. The Director continues to be a jerk and taunt Ikuto. Amu is at home recovering from the awesome battle with the twins and her Charas are arguing the best way to apologize to Ikuto. Yoru comes flying in all upset. He explains how Ikuto has been kidnapped by EASTER and Yoru wants Amu to save him. Amu gets really pissy and says she shouldn’t since Ikuto was so rude to her earlier. Yoru tries to explain why Ikuto was acting that way but Amu doesn’t want to listen. She runs outside and goes back to being emo. Elsewhere in the city Kukai is running around because his brothers forced him to go shopping. He runs into a sad Tadase on the swings and decides to cheer him up. Tadase is all jealous because Kukai has 4 brothers and somehow ends up at Kukai’s place to meet the harem of brothers. But before things can get all happy and rainbows it turns out that Kukai bought all the wrong stuff at the store. Instead of saying sorry for his mistakes Kukai blames his brothers for sending him in the first place.

The older brother and Kukai get into a stare down and soon it turns into an epic battle of playing soccer and cleaning floors. After losing the fight Tadase and Kukai talk later. Kukai talks about a childhood memory and how his older brother has a hard time expressing his feelings and crap like that. Kukai asks Tadase if he knows anyone who is awkward at times, can’t say what they really mean? Then Kukai says even though Tadase doesn’t have an older brother wasn’t Ikuto LIKE his brother? Tadase mumbles about how Ikuto did him wrong and Tadase doubts that he is misunderstanding the situation. Tadase starts to question himself and talks about how he wants to be a King who protects his small world.

Amu is on the swings being sad and depressed. Her Charas come up and try to talk some sense into her. She gets a text from Utau who is away on business. She tells Amu to protect Ikuto while she is gone and that she is counting on her. Amu gets out of her funk and transforms. She runs into Yoru and together they hunt down a violin sound. They make it to the broken down carnival where she and Ikuto shared a magical memory. Ikuto is there playing a sad tune and transforms into Death Rebel with aid from a black egg. Amu is shocked but has to dodge a zoned out Ikuto. She doesn’t want to fight him but she wants to protect the place where their magical memories occurred. She decides to put herself in the line of fire between Ikuto’s attack and the magic tea cups. She braces for the attack and Tadase comes to save the day. Tadase talks about protecting people and blah blah boring self righteous stuff. The episode ends with a dramatic standoff SHOCKER!

Well…I guess this episode was better than the last one. But considering how special the last episode was it wasn’t that hard. But still…I guess we have to give props where they are do.

Photobucket

So do the writers Amu. So do the writers.

Amu was pretty mean in this episode. The way she talked to Yoru was a little shocking. I understand she was upset at the “horrible” way Ikuto talked to Tadase but I thought that would change when she learned he was in danger. Surly her hurt 6th grade feelings can be set aside when someone’s LIFE is in danger.

Photobucket

Can you hear yourself Amu?!

Seriously this bothered me a great deal. She goes out of her way to protect strangers and get involved with their lives and petty dream problems. But the second Ikuto has a REAL problem she decides that she is going to be selfish and not care? A heroine should not be so quick to ignore someone in pain or danger. How can she really justify not helping out Ikuto? It just boggles my mind.

Photobucket

Cold Amu...cold.

And she did this to poor Yoru! What has Yoru ever done to Amu for her to be so mean to him? He came crawling back to ask for help and he gets treated like this?! He was going to explain everything to Amu but she wouldn’t let him. He looked like a sad little kitty. I must hug all the sad little kitties of the world!

Photobucket

I love you Yoru! I'll protect your master! Just don't cry.

Amu just comes off so out of control sometimes. I understand this series is all about Amu being so confused, thus the 3 Charas. I just want to see some growth. Once she learns a lesson I want her to apply it to her life. I don’t want her to put aside the well being of another human being because of some HURT feelings. AMU! Grow as a person please! I know you are only 12…but please become a gentler and caring person. Maybe then Dia will hatch!

Photobucket

Flip floppin those emotions!

Tadase wasn’t any better. Him being all emo on the swing set makes me laugh. Okay, so your sworn enemy heard your love confession and OKAY your love interest was hiding said sworn enemy in her bed. But she still picked you in a sense. Shouldn’t that make you happy? Shouldn’t you hear about the whole situation before you get all sad and mopey on the swings? No? You rather just pretend that you don’t THINK Ikuto betrayed you? You are so above mistakes that it is out of the realm of possibilities that Ikuto had a reason for what he did?

Photobucket

Tadase is easier to tolerate with Kukai around.

As much as I love Kukai his segment seemed rather random. I rather the other characters get a whole episode dedicated to themselves rather than them get a squished few minutes in between the real storyline. I think they deserve better.

That and much more could have been done with Kukai. Really, with that many special brothers there could have been much more drama and special moments. But no, he was just there to say things that make Tadase think about how he could be wrong. Sorta like how the twins somehow related to Amu to make her feel better. They weren’t really important and neither was Kukai to be honest.

Photobucket

A death match for the ages!

Utau’s random text message was awesome. I am sure the fact that Kukai and Utau both appeared in the same episode giving advice just further proves their possible shippingness. Utau looked so cute today I will overlook that she was also a tiny bit useless. Really, these side characters seem to only exist to say a few sentences to the main characters and back on the sidelines they go.

Photobucket

Come back soon Utau. This show needs you!

It was rather sad to see Ikuto be forced to destroy his special place. I mean, he is already being controlled by a psychopath against his will and had to hurt Amu in the process. But now he has to destroy part of his childhood? Evil director is evil.

Photobucket

His transformation was sad too.

I am glad that Amu finally looked passed her petty issues with Ikuto and went to help him and Yoru out. That is what Amu is supposed to do. You are the heroine! You rise above the fact you are pissed off at someone and save everyone. That is what makes you magical and a role model.

Photobucket

Thank you for coming to your senses!

What I am not glad about is that Tadase is once again there to save the day. Bleh. I rather Amu save Ikuto on her own. She doesn’t need a MAN to help her out. She is the only one who can reach Ikuto. I don’t want her thinking thank God Tadase was there. :( Or I wanted Ikuto to stop at the last minute because some part of him remembers Amu.

Photobucket

Cliffhanger! But probably not.

But Tadase is there and by the looks of next week…something major happens. And Ikuto is left out of saving the day. :( Whatever, Tadase can help save Ikuto and watch Amu and Ikuto walk off into the sunset…or sunrise at it may be. 5 more days and we will find out I guess.
