But I will probably be late with next week's post. Got another birthday in the family and a weird dinner invitation from another. Oh...and I might want to spend some personal time with my husband. XD Anime may be important...but not more important than friends and family! So if it is not posted on Sunday it should be by next Monday. XD
Please enjoy my special little summaries and reviews. I enjoy being snarky...so please read the snarkness. XD
Chrome Shelled Regios Episode 4
The episode starts off with more Engrish. This time there is another lady in the car. She questions if the two others are assassins or something. They are trying to get away from some cars chasing them. Nothing is explained and it is so lovely. Elsewhere (where things make sense) Felli did not show up for practice and Nina is a little disappointed. Before Layfon can chase after her Sharnid kidnaps him and takes him to a maid café. Soon Layfon realizes why he was taken to this certain place: Felli is currently working there as a sexy upset maid. After taking their order Felli goes to the back and beats up a refrigerator. Layfon and Sharnid escape to the roof top so Sharnid can try to snap a picture of her smiling. Due to her psychic powers she has a hard time expressing her emotions physically. At school Karian starts talking to this new character named Vance about investigating a certain place. Yay for being vague. The owner of the café tells Felli she has to work on smiling and be friendlier to the customers. She tries…but her smiles are not very believable. The owner then tries making her a “cool” hard edge beauty. She is instantly popular…but she is pissed at Sharnid being stupid. She is even more pissed when her brother Karian shows up to spy on her. She walks outside and breaks Sharnid’s camera and warns Layfon to stay away from such idiots. Layfon chases after her and she explains why she took such a job. Her whole life she was told she would have to be a psychic due to her abilities. She did not want to grow up being told what to do and came to this city to find her true self…just like Layfon did.
Felli goes to another café to search for a job when she overhears Mifi, Narki, and Meishen talking about something. She stands up and says she will help them as a part time job. It turns out that Mifi wants to investigate an old research building where all the workers died and apparently roam the hallways. The three girls keep talking about their goals for the future (rather forced) and Felli can only listen. Mifi goes off alone to take pictures of “spooky” old stuff while more future stuff as a chef and police officer are discussed. Suddenly Mifi screams and is abducted by a monster thing. Soon Narki and Meishen are kidnapped leaving Felli upset and confused. Felli almost gets smushed and Vance comes out of nowhere to safe her. He explains that this research place was created to make anti-bug thing…and apparently it went wrong. He yells at Felli to use her powers to find the girls and call for help. Very, very reluctantly Felli uses her powers and locates the girls in the basement. She also calls upon Layfon and Nina to come help. They make it to the basement and Vance starts fighting the guardian bug thing. He isn’t doing too well and Felli tries to run up to the girls to free them. The bug chases her instead and….she uses her powers to squish it. She is very pleased with herself and the girls are rescued. Layfon and Nina make it as the girls are being lectured about being in dangerous situations. Felli can’t understand why Layfon was so worried…but almost is happy about it. She looks on at her weapon with a little more appreciation. Vance is talking to Karian about how Karian put Felli in the military arts to both watch over her and force her to make a decision about her life path. He is only doing this to help her AW. Felli and Layfon bond over sandwiches and she smiles. Layfon catches her smiling..and Felli digs her heel into Layfon’s leg. What a happy ending. :)
This episode was much easier to follow. Thank you writers for listening to my pleas. Because I know that you were listening to my complaints personally :P.
There was only one new character introduced! My mind can handle that given his role actually made sense. He wasn’t just BAM there. Well…he really was but still. He had a clear and definite purpose. You know whose side he is on and where he comes from. Karian just has all these school students in his back pocket. I wouldn’t mind seeing Vance again…but given how many characters there are..Vance might be a one hit wonder.
Felli was mighty special in this episode. I mean I am all for finding yourself and expanding her world…but a maid café? Did she really think that would be the best place for her? Sure she can grow up to be anything she wants…but a café girl has to be smiley and happy go lucky. Some jobs require higher education and some jobs require good customer service. Of course it was just for fan service anyway and it doesn’t HAVE to make sense….and she was cute in the uniform.
Sharnid seems to be an asshole…and he is okay with that. I am sure he just trying to be the comic relief out of the band of serious people…but he needs to be a little more playful and not so mean. Sure you can try to get a picture of Felli smiling…but to sell it for profit? :P He deserved to have his camera broken. :P And no he cannot bond with Layfon. Layfon can bond with that silver hair dude from the first episode. ;)
The three side girls Mifi, Narki, and Meishen…are pretty bland and useless. :P For wanting to be a cop Narki didn’t do very much. I hope they will not become significant love interest. I just see them as being plot devices and characters that need saving. No need to have their back-story explained. :P The less of them the better I say.
Yay for more Engrish!!! Seriously…those people are drawn very scary. I hope they aren’t really supposed to represent Americans or another English speaking country….because they are drawn x_X. Like give that young girl some food her eyes are sunken in!!! x_X Again it would be nice to know how they relate to the main plot but that is hoping for too much. Just stop making them look so scary.
Karian is a mighty special person. Of course his reasons are all pure and lovely just for his sister. Because they always have a good reason for trying to force people into positions or situations they are against. Now he is not scary at all and he probably has a sister complex. Boo for no one being scary.
Not too much of Layfon this week. He was mainly around to have cute S.D faces and get kicked. Of course he is the good guy who rushes to a young girl’s side…but this young girl can defend herself now. :) I like how he supports her decision and understands people wanting to find themselves. But more so I like the S.D. part of the show.
So not much fighting this week and a lot of stuff that probably has nothing to do with main plot. I guess the Engrish part and the part about scientist trying to make giant bugs themselves was the only thing mildly important. Hopefully next week there will be more action. XD But I like the cuteness too.
Skip Beat Episode 17
Kyoko is excited as she puts on her school uniform. Finally she can be a normal high school student. Or so she thought…as her class is the performing arts class and they are not a typical high school class. Needless to say she will make the best of things. While walking to her Bo chicken job she walks passed a busy intersection. Moko and her soda commercial plays and she gets all embarrassed. But then she gets pissed off when people praise Moko and say that Kyoko is not cut out for the showbiz world. She is in a pissed off mood when she reaches the talent agency. But she receives a phone call from Ren (who sees her acting a fool and calls to tell her to calm down). She meets him upstairs and they exchange kind words. He even goes as far to give Kyoko 100 percent on her score card and compliment her school girl outfit. Ren’s manager starts to thank Kyoko for going above and beyond for Ren. Kyoko decides…to come clean on why she helped Ren. Not because she likes him as a friend…because she took the job personally and if Ren was late on her watch it would reflect negatively on her. Ren then….takes away 10 points and Kyoko bugs all out and wants to know what Ren was thinking!!!! Elsewhere in a different agency Sho is watching Kyoko’s commercial over and over again thinking it is HIS Kyoko…and soon he will find out. Kyoko…is having a mental breakdown when Sawara tells her she has a job offer: to co-star in Sho’s new music video (or promo I think…). She says NO NO NO AND NO and Sawara is like x_X but I thought you liked Sho. Kyoko refuses to be side dressing for Sho and is throwing a fit in the dressing room. Then Moko comes in with news of her own: she has a small part in a drama. Kyoko rejoices for Moko as Moko tries to downplay the awesomeness. She explains how another actress got fired so she could get the part…but she is okay with that as she will use people as stepping stones to reach the top. Kyoko then realizes that she will use Sho as her own stepping stone and it won’t count as helping him.
Ren is in the airport leaving for a week long project. His manager is shocked that Ren did not tell Kyoko he was leaving out of the country since they were getting along better. Ren starts thinking about Kyoko, how her intentions are changing. He just hopes she stays far away from Sho or those feelings will resurface. Of course…Kyoko goes to Sho’s studio to wait on him. It turns out she was sent to the wrong room and Sho goes to fetch her. Kyoko’s demons have decided that must conceal Kyoko’s true identity. That means…Kyoko becomes a psycho air head who is impressed with Sho. Sho is really thrown off his game as he really thinks Kyoko is HIS Kyoko..but surly she would not be talking like this and willingly shake his hands. Kyoko almost loses her cool when she sees Sho getting all cozy with the main producer but she hides her true feelings. Inner thoughts reveal she is pissed off that Sho is such a player. Kyoko is introduced to her other co-star Mimori. Mimori seems to be in love with Sho and Kyoko feels sorry for her. The main producer explains the concept of the promo: two angels are living their lives peacefully until they run into the devil. The devil and one of the angels fall in love with one another. But being who they are their love will kill them. The other angel decides to kill the devil to save her friend. Kyoko is like I WILL KILL THE DEVIL PICK ME! Mimori is happy as she gets to play the role of lover and all seems to be well. They break for lunch and Mimori gives Sho a homemade lunch. Sho hates part of the lunch and goes to spit it out…as Kyoko throws a salt packet at him and glares at him…as to say DO NOT DO THAT. DA END!
Congratulations Ren. You win “shortest amount of time for not being a douche bag reward”. My friend has lied to me. He is not getting better. He is a devil inside and I hate him. Die Ren.
Okay…so that is a little bit dramatic. He isn’t a total douche bag….he just had his feelings hurt and he had to take it out on Kyoko. A little petty on his side since he is supposed to be this “adult” figure in Kyoko’s life and be the mature one…but hey we all have our moments. He thought Kyoko “cared” about him and that is why she took care of him while he was sick. I am not sure why she really deserved to lose 10 points as she really did care about her client….just not in the way he thought she should. You have some major ass kissing to do now Ren.
Kyoko was super cute in her school girl outfit. I am glad she gets to have the normal school girl life she thinks she deserves/does deserve. Now…of course it can’t be totally normal as everything in Kyoko’s life and school will be no different. Now….I am going to admit to being a bad girl…and reading the rest of the published series online. :O So….I am all caught up and knows what is going on and what not.
So…I am disappointed that the friend at school isn’t harassing her and will probably not spill the beans to Sho. That would make school life more interesting.
And really…I am all for Kyoko’s reasons for taking the ad deal. If not for the practical reason that she is a new face and really can’t afford to pass on a golden opportunity to be THAT famous. But more so the evil aspect of it all. I fully support her using Sho as a stepping stone. That would like be getting revenge on him TWICE! If I were here I would find it hard to keep the smile off my face.
And how perfect is it she gets to play the part of an angel who strangles the devil?! Not only is Sho really a devil…but she gets to kill him! It is like Christmas!!! I think she hid her desire for that role well…yeah I did!!! :P
Part of me feels bad for her trying to act like such an airhead to throw him off her scent. She looks like she wants to hang herself on the nearest stairwell…but as an actress…this could just be practice for her! XD Yes I stretch it. But really…she should get 100 points for not trying to kill Sho in the mean time.
I sense (okay….more than sense but just in case people have not read the manga..) that Ren is not going to be happy with this ad music thing. Because mainly Ren is a douche bag and he can be the ONLY douche bag. That and he is overly jealous.
One thing I am disappointed in is next week’s episode. I don’t think she looked as pretty as I had imagined. She looked much more breath taking in the manga. That blond hair looks like a very cheesy fake color and not something natural an angel would have. MAKE KYOKO BEAUTIFUL! Do not downplay her awesomeness. Makes me little heart sad. Perhaps I will have a change of heart next week when I see the full affect. YAY FOR KYOKO STEALING THE SHOW! :)
Kuroshitsuji Episode 16
Sebastian goes to wake up two blond hair children sleeping in a huge bed. The episode back tracks to perhaps a few days ago. Ceil (in the bathtub for some reason) has received notice that his project is being put on hold. He is trying to restore an old castle but his workers refuse as they are being haunted by a ghost. Ceil and his naked self decides they must go and investigate this ghost. Ceil is skeptical that ghosts even exist…and I laugh at his stupidity. They walk in and are greeted by the bigger blond…who claims to be King Edward the 5th. Problem is he has been dead for about 400 years. His tiny brother Richard is running around the place holding a skull. Well at least they know they are dead and are not in denial. Apparently 400 years ago their evil relatives killed them to gain control of the throne. Ceil tries to be understanding but gently explains the castle belongs to him now. Edward decides they will play a game of chess. Ceil wins he gains the castle. Edward wins they keep the castle and Sebastian. Edward promises that this is going to be a fair game. Then Edward changes the pieces with his dead powers and wins. Sebastian warns Ceil to calm down…so Ceil orders Sebastian to watch over the brothers. Richard is very fond of Sebastian and watches him do lame butler stuff. But he refuses to let go over the skull he is holding. Ceil is spending his time trying to research how the brothers died and stuff. Edward appears and tells Ceil he can’t remember the moment he died..nor does it matter since everyone associated with them are now dead. Ceil said if this had happened to him he would never forget and would get revenge.
Ceil is not really amused at Sebastian basically ignoring him and only serving the brothers. Ceil is more annoyed as he tries to get dressed and is unable to tie his shoes. Sebastian does help but is annoying about it. He also helps Ceil unlock the secret door in the library, but not because he is HIS butler but that he is a guest and a guest must be taken care of. They follow Edward along a path of skeletons. This area use to be a dungeon and it is littered with family members. Edward has gathered all the skulls of his family members and places them as pieces on a chess board. All that is missing is the skull Richard is holding…his own. All that Edward wants is Richard to be able to go to heaven. Ceil asks if Edward is willing to do anything possible to gain that wish. He agrees….but then is upset when Sebastian manhandles Richard into the room. Edward is greatly upset that Sebastian is treating his brother so harshly. Edward also feels lied to that Sebastian is not obeying his words. Sebastian states he was never Edward’s servant; he was only acting on Ceil’s orders. Eventually the skull is taken from the board but nothing happens. Sebastian tells Richard to tell the truth, about the lie he has told his brother. Richard confesses to his brother he has remembered their death for a long time…and that their bodies were not the little boys that were discovered in the castle 200 years ago. They were thrown in a river and eaten by fishes. Richard didn’t want to tell his brother the awful truth and they cry together. Edward holds his brother and apologizes for not protecting him. Then they both begin to glow as if they are passing through another world. Sebastian says that their bones were not necessary to move on…their feelings were. Edward thanks them both as the boat man takes the two away. Ceil promises to keep the castle in the same condition and keeps one of the chess pieces to remember them by.
Not really fond of this episode. Actually…it ranks up there with the annoying stupid trio but for entirely different reasons. But yeah…not my favorite episode out of this series. Sadness fills my heart. But all series have their not so great moments. Makes us appreciate the awesome moments better.
I guess the weak part of this episode was it was…only one episode. Not a two part arc. Just one episode to get the whole story over and done with. And some parts of it suffered because of it. Like Edward and his hating lies. OKAY we get it. You hate lies. Saying that every other second made me understand that concept very well. But it made the character very weak and one sides. Forced forced forced.
One episode was also not enough time to care for these characters. And out of all the people who have suffered super natural weirdness these two characters deserved some sympathy. Two young boys killed over a power struggle for the crown. I do feel bad for them…but I think their story would have had a bigger impact if we learned the details slower and it was more of a mystery.
Not that this show was all bad. X_X Ceil being totally lost with Sebastian was cute and amusing. He runs multimillion…or maybe just hundred thousand…anyway he runs huge business and has all these resources in his reach yet this silly little boy can’t tie his shoe. :P Looks like Soma knows more than Ceil does Sebastian. Why don’t you yell at him?!
Sebastian was a jerk in this episode…but that’s just how he is. He is under a contract to follow Ceil’s orders but he is able to push the envelope. Sure he will listen to the orders, but he will be snarky while doing so. And really…Ceil did tell him to follow those princes’ orders. That means Ceil was just a normal person to him. :P
This episode has one of the most random and unnecessary scenes ever. Did we really need to see almost every inch of his underage skin? X_X I felt so dirty watching it…so I took a screenie!!! Because I am a dirty person.
At least this episode ends on a happier note. Because the people are already dead X_X The worst thing has already happened to them. Nothing could really top that. The two innocent boys get to go to heaven and be with their family members. So yay for the best ending ever. Or at least best episode possible.
So overall..just okay. Not too much more to say about this episode. Next week’s episode looks like there will be more action. XO Our little Ceil will be in danger and it will be up to Sebastian to save the day. Of course he will…but the process will be fun to watch. See ya next week.
Tales of the Abyss Episode 18
The episode starts off with Yulia explaining how the world was created by the seven fonons and she read the score created and blah blah. Who would have thought things would have turned out like this blah blah. Our heroes have to rest because there is a snow storm. The flying machine can fly from the center of the world, through the muk…but snow is too hard! Jade says that they all have to rest since Van will be a tough opponent and everyone has to be on their A game. Everyone goes off to bed but Luke catches Natalia in the hallway. She wants Luke to repeat the promise that Asch and her made so many years ago. Luke does so…and she says she can finally recognize Luke as a real human being. Because she rocks like that…(hope she dies). Luke wants to talk to Tear…but he decides against it. He goes to his room with Guy. He talks about some of his past with Van and how Van used to take great care of him and how he is lucky he didn’t turn out like Van. In the morning Luke has the quickest headache of glowyness ever and goes outside. Asch is there and Luke assumes Asch summoned him. Asch hasn’t…which can only mean it is TIME. For what we don’t know…but it is almost time. Luke begs Asch to come help them defeat Van. It turns out that Asch really is injured from that last battle…and tells Luke he has to kill Van. So the entire crew goes to this absorption point to get the flow back to normal. There is a shake and Tear and Luke fall near the bottom of place thing. They keep on going towards some convenient door. Tear starts talking about her past and how she wasn’t technically born in Hod…as the entire place collapsed into Yulia city before she was born. Van raised her and was very loving…but apparently he could not move on from the horrors he saw as a child. But she promises to take him out this time.
They walk into this room and Van is playing an organ all phantom of the opera style. He starts sprouting his crap about saving the world and score and blah blah. Then he taunts Luke about being too weak to be his opponent. The fight begins and Luke does falter in landing the death blow. Soon the entire gang shows up and helps with the fight. Luke manages to land a hit but it seriously looks like a flesh wound. But that doesn’t stop Van from smirking evilly and throwing himself off the edge. There is ten seconds of mourning...and then they correct the flow. Well…technically Luke uses Asch’s power to stop it but who cares. As everyone celebrates the slow lowering of the outer lands into the muk, Luke and Asch hear a voice warning them that something is coming to get him (the voice) and soon they will have the key. One month later…and Luke is being a loser at home. Everyone has gone off and done their own thing leaving him alone to be sad and useless. His mother comes in and reinforces that she loves him despite being a replica. She then hires Noelle to take Luke around to see all his friends. He first goes to see Tear who is mourning for her brother still. Apparently Asch has been in Yulia City recently asking her grandfather about something. She also heard that Van’s sword from the absorbing center thingy has been stolen…which means that one of the other six generals must still be alive! Given the fact that Luke heard that voice….Tear and Luke have decided that all is not well and run off to save the world again!
Well then. The world is saved. The crust is gently lowered into the muk. The muk is gone magically because Spinoza did something off screen that is magic. Van has been tossed aside Sync style. Rejoice right?
Not really. I mean yay the world is saved…and Luke just goes back home to mope? Because he isn’t a really Luke? What about all those words about living your life to make up for all the lives you took when you blew up that city? Guess those were all lies. After all you have seen and done it was easier for him to just sit on him bum and feel bad for himself. At least he is alive.
But I guess what was more interesting was that Luke was alone. And cute mascots don’t count. Everyone is off doing their own thing and going back to life as normal. Don’t they care about the person whose life isn’t going to be normal anymore? Especially Ms I blush every time Luke comes in the room Tear? I mean…after all they have been through you would think their lives would be slightly different. But I guess I am madder at Guy. He promised to be there for Luke yet he goes back to his birth kingdom. Some pal.
Van almost had the lamest death ever. That honor goes to Sync as he wasn’t even injured at all when he flung himself off the boat..but Van..seriously. He gets hit a few times and he is down for the count? After he used a power that sent everyone flying on their asses a few weeks ago? Made him look like a loser that wasn’t worth all this fighting. All talk and no fight. You suck Van. And I don’t care about all the suffering he went through as a child. That does not justify destroying an entire planet.
I am curious to see what new danger this show is going to have. We have like 6 episodes left? The countries are all happy with each other and the crust is going to be okay. They will really have to bring something magical out of their butts since…the most destructive possibilities have already occurred. At this point in a game the FINAL boss is revealed. Sometimes it is a person that they have already defeated and is resurrected or…it’s the main character’s father. XD
Of course it shall be linked to the voice in Asch and Luke’s heads. Perhaps it will turn out they are BOTH clones and the real Luke is being used to destroy the world. That would be AWESOME! It will have to do with why Asch gets his mini headaches too and why he really wanted to destroy the world. Or…they will go release this person/thing and that will end the world. Either way…I am sure it will involve fons.
BUT ION BETTER NOT DIE! I saw him looking slightly sparkly and not so healthy. Do not be killing my Ion. I say we give him Anise’s remaining life and call it a day. :) what does everyone else think?
I hope sooner rather than later we find out what is written on the final score. Maybe Guy will have another memory flashback upon meeting his replicated sister next week and he will spill the beans. So while this episode didn’t confuse the hell out of me….it still gets a MEH from me.
Clannad After Story Episode 17
The first part of the episode is pretty depressing. Tomoya is living…just like his father. He goes to work, chain smokes, and gets drunk. His house is in shambles and he looks a wreck. He spends so much time at work he is almost being forced to take time off. His entire world is grey and depressing. He still hates this town and life has no meaning. He still thinks that he should have never met Nagisa, gone out with her, married her….or had the baby.
Then we go back to the hidden world. Robot man has been trying very hard to build the flying machine but he can only stack up the objects. He can’t build anything because he is only human. The girl comes outside and says once again she will soon be unable to move. This world is a sad place and they just want to leave.
Tomoya is woken up one morning with Sanae’s happy smile. She coaxes Tomoya into going on a date around town. Tomoya is upset that the town is changing so much (meaning he doesn’t get out that often). Sanae…takes them to Nagisa’s old job. She talks about how Tomoya should take vacation time and go with ALL of them to a fun spot. Tomoya isn’t thrilled about this ALL thing but agrees. HE then tells the viewers how after Ushio was born he immediately gave her to Akio and Sanae to raise. He has barely spent any time with his own child. He arrives at the bakery…and Akio and Sanae are both gone and claim to be back soon. Tomoya sees through this obvious trick and sits down. Ushio is running around hiding like a crazy person. She manages to tell Tomoya she wants to go on a trip…but with Akio and Sanae. Tomoya tries ignoring her but she falls down and busts her toy. He fixes it and she seems to be a little less shy. She runs around some more and it is decided it is lunch time. Tomoya has plans to go to the store alone but Ushio follows him. She obviously knows Tomoya is not a normal daddy. There are some awkward moments with Ushio not wanting to eat his rice or how she announces every time she has to go potty. Ushio watches as a little family walks by with exciting plans. Something hits Tomoya…and he asks Ushio if she wants to go on a trip…just the two of them. She says yes and marches on…just like Nagisa does in the closing theme song.
Okay…while this episode was pretty depressing…it wasn’t as depressing as I thought it was going to be. And I have yet to figure out if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
Tomoya turning into his dad is the ultimate case of irony. Or whatever word I mean to use that is similar to irony. Tomoya hating his father so much, vowing to never be like that man….and yet is has happened. I am positive if Tomoya’s mother had lived his father would not have turned into the loser he is. He just gave up on life even though he had a child to take care of…and now Tomoya has done the exact same thing.
The house that Tomoya worked so hard for is now a wreck. It is almost a mirror image of how he grew up at his father’s house. Trash everyone, mail all over the place. And Tomoya looks a wreck too. Huge lines under his eyes and not shaving every day (for some men it looks good, for Tomoya not so much). The mere fact he still goes to work every single day astonish me. :( But I am massively disappointed in the smoking part. :(
Now do I wish that Ushio lived with Tomoya? Not at this moment in time. I do believe a parent should take care of his child. But Tomoya is not in the position to take care of a gold fish. He should not be responsible for another human being. And Tomoya at least has found people to take care of his child unlike his father…which is a more positive thing I guess.
But what I am upset at is his lack of interaction with Ushio. Just because he doesn’t live with her doesn’t mean he can’t be a part of his daughter’s life. Sorry your life sucks and your wife died…but do you think Nagisa gave her life to give birth so you could ignore her offspring? If anything Tomoya should be trying twice as hard as Ushio is the only way Nagisa is living on. Of course…it could have something to do with Ushio being a mirror image of Nagisa…
Ushio is a weird little kid. I was expecting such a different type of voice and we got a very nasally voice. And she is pretty weird. Like extremely weird. Nagisa was weird too but Ushio…x_X Unless it is normal for a 5 year old to announce every time they go potty. 3 year old I could see doing that…but not a 5 year old.
It was really sad watching father and daughter interact. Ushio kept vocalizing that she did not want Tomoya to take her on that trip and I don’t even think Tomoya cared. She obviously does not know how to behave around Tomoya and they are almost like strangers. Even when they left for the trip they didn’t hold hands. :( That was like almost the saddest part of the episode.
I am not sure how I feel about Sanae. After watching the episode I was pretty pissed at her. But then I thought about it …and she is in pain too. Sanae has to plaster on a fake smile while she raises her dead daughter’s child. She has to plaster on a fake smile to try to get some reaction out of Tomoya. But really she and Akio have lost the most. Tomoya only knew Nagisa for 2 years. They knew her for 20 years. Tomoya is not the only one suffering and I think that if someone was honest with him…and told him to wake up and notice everyone is sad…maybe he would break out of this hole. Or that would just push him further away. One or the other.
X_X In what planet is it okay to leave a child home alone? A 5 year old? I mean…didn’t Nagisa get sick because you left her tiny self home alone. AND YOU DO IT AGAIN?! Then Tomoya tried to do it too?! X_X This poor child….she is lucky that nothing bad has happened to her yet!
The cutest part of the episode would have to be Tomoya fixing the toy. It was actually something very small to Tomoya. I think he automatically did it so she would stop being upset. But in Ushio’s eyes…that might have been a big moment. The moment where your dad becomes awesome. Because as you could clearly see…that toy was broken. There was no hope for it…and yet dad fixed it. A WOW moment…and it really touched her. I thought it was sweet and would have been sweeter had Tomoya cracked a smile.
And don’t think I did not see that plushie! It’s funny how you should watch anime series in order. Meaning that Kanon came before Clannad. Meaning…I see that huge ant eater plushie! Things like that are just fun to watch for and add something fun from the previous hot series to the next. XD I was amused.
The episode ended on a more positive note. I mean I am pretty glad for that. I wasn’t sure how many episodes we were going to have with Tomoya feeling sorry for himself. It looks like he is going to try to be a better father now. Or at least I hope so. I mean, they highlighted next week Tomoya yelling at that kid..but I hate kids too XD So maybe it was called for. Hopefully Tomoya can showcase his fathering skills better next week.
To Aru Majutsu no Index Episode 18
Touma starts off this episode with the continuous adventures of his life sucks. He apparently sleeps in the bathroom because Index sleeps in his bed. He ventures in to get some tissues for his poor perverted nosebleed…and Index wakes up. She thinks that his intentions are less than pure and decides to eat his head. During this savage attack he remembers that he has yet to do any summer homework thus making his life even sadder. For some reason Misaka knows that trash can girl/maid. The maid requests that she bring her back some yaoi mangas on her trip to the store…to just read mangas for free. But before she can get down the street a young man named Mitsuki stops to talk to her. Misaka is not so happy to see him..as he has been stalking her this past week and he won’t take no for an answer. She decides that next guy who walks by she will use as a pretend boyfriend to throw him off. Of course the next person to walk by is Touma. Insert the most awkward I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU MOMENT ever. :P But Misaka drags Touma away and explains the situation as the entire school looks on. Touma seems to think that the act is over but Misaka thinks they should go around town to prove to more people they are dating. Then there is a brief embarrassment time over mustard and mistaken hot dogs. Then Touma feels a little stupid when Misaka can do his homework so easily. She runs off to buy them some drinks and be more couple like. Mitsuki runs by to help a young boy catch his dog…but he stops to talk to Touma. He seems to be a really nice guy who just wants Misaka to be honest with him. Touma starts feeling bad for him…as Misaka stomps back over to the table. She drags Touma away and tells him that they do NOT talk to the enemy. Touma explains to her he is not feeling this plot and Misaka seems down. She decides that they should have lunch and then he can go. She goes into a local McDonalds.
Mitsuki once again walks up to Touma and asks about Misaka. At that moment Touma looks over and sees another Mitsuki run into the restaurant. Touma asks if Mitsuki has any relatives as the injured Mitsuki tells Misaka to run. Mitsuki does not like that question and takes out a lovely spear and magicizes Touma. Touma calls Index for help on this magic source but she is busy watching anime. She does tell him about the spear and perhaps its weakness is that it needs sunlight. Oh and that this dude probably slices his own skin off and used a piece of the real Mitsuki’s to copy him. Touma manages to disable Mitsuki temporarily by making the spear dirty. Mitsuki then reveals that he has been sent to stop Touma’s group. That is right…there are organizations out there that think Touma is trying to gather magic users and strong espers to build an army. X_X And Mitsuki has been sent to stop him. But when it gets down to it Mitsuki really does care for Misaka. Touma and Mitsuki fight it out for a while until Touma destroys his spear. Touma tries to reason with Mitsuki but the structure begins to fail and Mitsuki is crushed by some poles. He does ask Touma to take care Misaka for him (as she hides in the corner and listens to his naive answer). Mitsuki warns that others will come to stop them both…and they better beware.
Well this week was just a one shot episode…but I think it worked. It didn’t need a two episode arc or anything.
Apparently anyone Touma is going to meet and talk to for the rest of his life is going to not be a normal person. We aren’t even going to count the fact that he lives in a town with tons of espers. Just weird people in general. You would think that Touma would have learned by now the nicer the person is, the more they want to stab him in the face.
I am on the fence about the Index/nose bleed scene. On one hand I really didn’t need to see her laying there all sexy. I kinda feel dirty. I think there were other ways to let the audience know that Touma is dreadfully behind on his homework. But I did
enjoy Index eating his brain. MMM brains. But where the hell does Aisa live?!
And I guess they have to get some Index scenes in there SOMEHOW. I mean…she did sorta help Touma out from that spear man…but she could have directed a little bit more of her attention to the topic on hand and not anime. This show is still about Index right?
I really want to know Misaka’s answer for why she didn’t want to go out with Mitsuki. Besides the fact that he was trying to kill her and such. But I don’t think she knew that so that doesn’t count. Is she really in love with Touma?! XD No I don’t think that is it either. So I want to know why she was trying to turn down a seemingly nice guy.
But seeing Misaka and Touma together was really cute. Her freaking out over the hotdogs was really cute…and slightly scary. But mostly cute. I like how she didn’t make him feel utterly stupid when she helped with his homework (he did end up feeling stupid…but she was really nice about the situation). So yeah she probably likes Touma…and it was all entirely cute. Tenchi approved.
The fact that there are organizations out there think that Touma is a threat is pretty scary….I guess it makes sense on some level…but still. Are people lurking around every corner looking for a new enemy or something? I don’t know how Touma almost getting killed by all these people he has “gathered” makes him a force to be reckoned with…but I am amused. And I have gotten my answer on who the next enemy is going to be.
Whatever the case may be….Touma is in trouble. Mainly because he is Touma..but because he really DOESN’T have these people in his back pocket to help him out. Index is not good in a fight, Stiyl and Kaori aren’t around to protect him, and Aisa is good against…vampires. That doesn’t leave many people to actually be in his little gang. Touma shall always suffer.
I was surprised to see Accelerator next week. I thought we would have to wait a few more episodes to see his ugly face again. I guess…he really isn’t SUCH a bad guy. He was just doing what he was told to do. He just took a lot of pleasure in it…but I still hate him. Hopefully next week’s episode won’t be ALL about him or I might hurl.
Shugo Chara Doki Episode 69
Rima is walking to school when she notices a boy staring at her. She gets slightly embarrassed and runs to Amu and Yaya the second she can. But those two nut bags are trying to be sneaky and are failing at life. After school the guardians tell Rima that there is a hole in the ceiling of the royal gardens so…Rima has to stay in the classroom all by herself and do paper work. Rima rolls her eyes and knows what is up. Naturally the rest of the guardians are setting up for Rima’s super secret surprise birthday party. Amu made a cake without the help of Suu…so naturally everyone fears for their life. While Rima is doing the paper work by herself she remembers something that happened a while ago. That boy from this morning had given Rima a love letter…and she has yet to open it from the looks of it. That boy walks into the gardens all blushy and Nagihiko recognizes him from his class, Fuyuki. Fuyuki tells the guardians that he gave Rima a love letter 2 weeks ago and she has still not responded. Nagihiko offers to ask Rima for him but Fuyuki rejects that idea. Fuyuki confesses that when Rima first came to the school he wasn’t too fond of her. But after she started making friends and became less cold he discovered he had a crush on her. Yaya decides she is going to help him with his task…but Fuyuki has listed over 100 ways to confess his love. X_X El comes out of nowhere and declares herself the angel of love and she must help in this task.
Yaya, Amu, and El try to talk to Fuyuki about how to go about confessing his love. They try to contact Utua to get a famous autograph…but she shoots them down. Rima is off being lonely in the classroom waiting for this party. So after all this discussion….Fuyuki decides to just go and tell Rima. Awesome. So finally they go to fetch Rima to take her to the party…but Lulu has struck! Fuyuki has gotten a little too nervous and Lulu used that to turn him into a ribbon/flower spreading machine. He then transforms into super Valentine’s Day man or something. However..even though he has transformed he STILL can’t confess his feelings. So he decides he is going to make every other person in the school confess. People are talking about wetting the bed and not wearing underwear. Nagihiko almost confesses who he really is and Tadase almost tells Amu he is in love with her. But Amu pulls through and tells Fuyuki he needs to just be himself and not be so nervous. He is healed and finally confesses to Rima. Rima says all this lovely stuff about her friends……then turns him down. He seems okay with that and Rima invites him to the not so secret birthday party. They all have a nice time and Rima is happy. DA END!
Another episode that is a filler and has no progress. Perhaps it is expecting too much to have them cover the actual plot. But at least this Rima centric episode was not about comedy. I find her comedy very different than the comedy I like.
Why…is it when every boy transforms he looks a fool? Ikuto and Kukai are the exception to that rule. But everyone else looks x_X. Especially Tadase but that is besides the point. This friend of the week was just a hot mess. Almost as bad as toilet seat man. And…he really did look “fabulous”. Not a way to win someone’s heart.
And yes I was also mad that he didn’t have a would be self wish. The writers are really REALLY stretching this “minor” plot issue…but whatever. They need to have an excuse to get Lulu to transform people. I really REALLY wish they would stick to the who you really are self. Anything else doesn’t count.
Why was Nagihiko protecting Rima like that…MMMMM. I thought that this new guy Fuyuki would be the love interest and squash some of the Rima and Nagihiko rumors. But if anything this episode reinforces people’s feelings about this episode. X( I guess I just don’t want to see Nagihiko with anyone besides Amu. Still…don’t see him being so dramatic about saving anyone else…
I guess Nagihiko HAD to protect Rima. Otherwise we would get the 5 seconds of Nagihiko’s plot would not be covered. I mean…I am sure some viewers are forgetting about his massive secret. Or maybe this is a way to remind themselves since they keep leaving that plot point on the side lines. :( Why did Tadase have to cover his mouth! I wish he got some more of his sentence out so Amu can start questioning Nagihiko looking so much like her old friend.
I could have cared less about Tadase and his announcement. It is fairly obvious…but I still hate him for liking Amulet Heart more than Amu. I want to stab him sometimes. He doesn’t treat her any differently than the other girls so…I hate him for that too. Just go away Tadase thanks.
I actually really liked the friend of the week. Fuyuki was a very cute kid and his wish was pretty standard. I really didn’t get stalker vibes from him. He just wanted to get an answer! All of that could have been avoided if Rima would have answered him. I also thought his book of ways to confess was cute too. Just a 12 year old kid trying to get through his first crush. XD So cute…and now his little heart is all broken.
RIMA! Why did you break his tiny little heart?! Why did you string him along?! WHY DID YOU SAY NO!!!! :*( He just seemed like a normal kid. GIVE IT A CHANCE! But at least she was nice about it. Would have been nicer if she had been a little more forceful with her answer and not running around not answering his letter. Okay…a little harsh on a 12 year old girl. IF you don’t like someone you don’t like someone…still I am disappointed.
But Rima was pretty cute in this episode. I love how she knew exactly what was going on but she decided to play along not to ruin the surprise. I personally would have been upset that I am being left alone on my birthday but oh well. She is good friend for not running the surprise and I like her for that.
So this episode was okay in terms of fillers. Oh..and there was Lulu…but who cares about her at this point. Next week looks like that actual valentine’s day episode even though I thought today’s was…with all the hearts and stuff but I guess I was wrong. I just hope Amu makes Ikuto some chocolates too!
Maria Holic Episode 4
Maria finds that someone has left Kanako a box of chocolates or something. Too bad as dorm mother god takes them and buries them in the back yard. Kanako has gone to her home room teacher to talk about Nanami going too far to protect her. Teacher Fumi won’t tell Nanami to back off though…as she thinks Nanami needs to have a friend and Kanako can do the job. But Kanako really doesn’t have worry about the Nanami situation since the rest of of the class picks her to be the class representive. Seeing that Kanako is freaking out so much Namami volunteers to be be her assistant. Kanako decides that this is a good thing since they can get to know each other better. So the two are walking for the meeting area when they run into Ryuuken. Ryuuken also has been chosen to be a representive. Kanako thinks this is her chance to get to know Ryukken a little bit more…but Ryuuken thinks that Kanako and Nanami are still together. They all go into the meeting with all the other representatives. Ayari is leading the meeting and she and Maria are having LOVELY banter…but everyone else thinks they are really close. Kanako learns that Maria and Ayari are somehow related….and she is happy to learn something new about him…but then gets scared because she cares about him. The next day Sachi and Yozuru decide that they are going to help Kanako become friends with Nanami. They try a bunch of different things, like sharing books and walking home together…but everything fails. Kanako is getting pretty discourage Sachi decides that she will dress up as a bad man and attack Nanami. Kanako will come out of nowhere and save the day. Only that Nanami gives into the attacker and gives her cash. Nanami is touched that Sachi went to such lengths to be her friend and they go home together…leaving Kanako. Kanako is all X_X when she learns that Sachi took her plans accidentally. Yozuru simply asks Nanami to be her friends too and Kanako almost has a meltdown but becomes Nanami’s friend too.
The second half of the episode is dedicated to the god dorm room lady going through people’s rooms. She ends up with a table full of prohibited items. We are talking grade A stuff. Dorm room lady then starts rating how well these items were hidden. She then treats this as an exam and gives back items to people who had really good scores on hiding their stuff. One room got their TV back. Kanako also had an item that was prohibited…that bag with the wild animal in it. Kanako is like x_X but I wasn’t hiding it! It fact you can have it forever! Nope that is not how it works in Kanako’s world. Everyone is going to get their items given back to them. They are going to be given a chance to hide them again. But if they get caught, dorm room god is going to read one of their essays they wrote when they were a child. And Kanako fears that. Maria decides to take it upon himself to read said essay and attack Kanako’s spelling. Maria says he is going to help the commoner with hiding and…reveals his secret room. Kanako is like where is this room coming from hidden space?! But Maria takes her on a mini tour of his secret room. Kanako thinks that they have bonded since he is going to hide her purse bag. He is like bitch I ain’t hiding your crap!!! You ain’t my friend. Kanako is pissed…but decides to just throw it away. She takes it out to the trees to abandon it…but then starts feeling remorseful about leaving the little creature. Maria can’t help but notice that Kanako cried over the situation and is a little bit kind about the situation. None of which matters since the bag…crawls back into the room. X_X the end.
Yay another episode of Maria Holics…I am just so excited…wait no I’m not…
Kanako spends a great deal of the episode freaking out on how to be Nanami’s friend. I am not sure if she is trying hard to actually be friends or so that Nanami can really be her girlfriend. But she is being seriously a freak about the entire situation. In my normal world of reality…friendship takes time. Kanako has only been here for a few days. She is pushing way too hard to be friends in general….but more so with Nanami. If you really want to be friends with someone you find out what makes them click and try that way. Not forcing what you think being a friend really is. Had she gotten to know Nanami she would have known what Nanami does not work with subtlety.
But what was funny is that Sachi is just simply honest with Nanami and they become friends. Or what is funnier is Kanako’s reaction that someone else benefitted from something she wanted to do. Apparently I can be like Maria too and enjoy the suffering of Kanako’s. I am just awesome like that.
I hope that Kanako realizes that when she was focusing on gaining the friendship of one person she was being helped by two other people. Personally if I had just moved to a new school I would be happy with two friends, not making a third. Focus on the friends you do have Kanako.
The funniest part of the entire episode was Ryuuken still thinking that Nanami and Kanako are a couple. And the fact that it might turn Ryuuken on that they are a couple. Kanako needs to make up her mind which girl she wants to go after so she can focus her attacks on them XD
Maria was once again rude in this episode. He likes to lead Kanako into a false sense of security and then attacks. And I like it! I love how he basically implied that she could hide the bag of darkness in his secret room then decides…NOT we are not really friends! But he tries to redeem himself later by talking about how she feels sad about leaving behind that bag of darkness.
Dorm leader god scares me. And entertains me. I thought her randomly going through the rooms without the kids in there was a totally invasion of privacy. But then she actually gives back some items given on how well they hide their rule breaking. You gotta like someone like that. Or be scared that they are in a position of power.
Why does Kanako even HAVE that bag still? I would have thrown it out the minute I had received it! I am not keeping that creepy thing in my room. I would be scared of being eaten or something. Then Kanako cries when she leaves it to die in the woods. X_X Why….just why..
So…not much got done in this episode again. Or maybe it did since I am not sure if this anime HAS plot. Maria really isn’t getting a lot of screen time and I want to know his secret. And with no this is happening next week clip…I feel a little left in the dark. X( Sadness fills my heart…
