Sword Art Online episode 22

So yummy my tacos. I feel as if I am not very adventurous when it comes to the food trying department but that is okay with me. Or maybe if dinner/lunch type foods tasted like ice cream and cookies there would be more variety in my life. Speaking of cookies...last week at this time we were nomming on cookies at the Magic Kingdom. So delicious.....

While I drown my cookieless tears in Universal Studios fudge here is another post! Up now is Sword Art Online episode 22. Spoilers for Kirito being a stupid guy.

I am sure this will end well.

Episode Summary: Leafa continues to look on as Kirito flies towards the top of the tree. She worries that he will hit the barrier that was held in place to stop “cheaters” and he does. He hits it hard and starts to fall but continues to be stubborn and try to fly through the barrier. Leafa tells Kirito it is impossible for him to pass this point which frustrates him greatly. Yui starts crying out for Asuna using the emergency mode and Asuna actually hears her. Asuna realizes that Kirito is probably nearby and needs to let him know she is there. She throws down the pass key she stole earlier and it floats down to Kirito. He thinks he can use it to unlock the tree but Leafa points out that they need to use it at the right terminal and will probably be useless. Still Kirito finds hope in this situation and thanks Leafa for all her help. He plans on going to the official trunk of the tree to make his way up. Leafa points out that there have been huge parties who have gone there and been unable to get up the trunk. Kirito thanks her for the advice and goes to accept the quest knowing things will probably not be easy for him. Kirito enters this long upward tube and starts traveling upwards. Soon the walls start coming alive with warriors bent on killing Kirito. He starts hacking away as they multiple and take their turn attacking Kirito. So polite. As he fights he starts thinking of Asuna and how he needs to save her.

Didn't you get the memo? I am the awesome Kirito!

Kirito starts getting seriously hurt as there are way too many soldiers for him to fight. A body full of arrows and Kirito tries to fly up to the top. Kirito thinks he nearly makes it but he is killed. As he dies he thinks how arrogant he has been thinking that you can die in this game and all will be okay. That he thought he actually had skill and could bypass things even though this game is based on codes and computer parts, not sheer will. Kirito's little flame sits there and he starts feeling bad for himself when all of a sudden Leafa appears to rescue Kirito who would have probably respawned back in there. Suffering great injury to herself Leafa manages to get the Kirito flame out of the tower and outside. She brings him back to life and yells at him for being so reckless. Kirito acknowledges he is pig headed but is going back in. Leafa tells him it is too dangerous but Kirito explains that he has to save Asuna. Leafa FINALLY hears the Asuna word and realizes that this is Kirito. Leafa has a mental breakdown and logs out. Suguha starts crying in her room when Kirito tries to enter to talk to her. He thinks that this is just a small little issue and there is no reason for Suguha to be so upset. So what that they know each other? Well Suguha loses her little mind. She starts crying, saying that she knew they weren't really siblings and that she fell in love with him. But now she feels bad that she wanted to break up Asuna and Kirito and wanted to put aside her feelings. However falling in love with Kirito's game player was making her feel guilty and SURPRISE it was Kirito. Suguha slams the door and starts crying again as Kirito goes...what the hell?! THE END!

And in 5 seconds she loses her mind all over the screen.

Well then folks.....ignore all that I said about Suguha last episode. Ignore it all. It was a lie. Suguha has lost her little tiny mind and I don't know if she is going to ever find it again. Okay she probably will but for now she has lost her mind. And it was slightly annoying.

Wai I wanted a bigger splat!

I love how the game had to be patched to keep out the “cheaters”. I am not sure if it is really cheating. Rule bending or loop holes? I don't know. But now people are getting smushed when they hit the ceiling and it was slightly amusing. Again Kirito thinks he can do anything and tries several times to go through said ceiling resulting in the same thing each time. Failure. I was looking forward to him splatting all the way to the ground.

Psht it can't be that easy.

I thought the pass key was going to play a bigger park in the series. Of course there are very few episodes left and Asuna trying to escape again at this point might be special. I guess I just thought it would be funny if those other groups were running around trying to gather all the materials and Kirito is like um no I got this and swipes a key. But that would be way too lame right? After leaving a horrible killer game to win in this game so easily with a little pass key.

Stop flirting with everyone in the universe and save me.

But it looks like Asuna threw the key and that was just her way of letting Kirito knew she was there. Good thing Yui was there with her ability to use the emergency signal thing. Does this game not sense anything is wrong what with Yui doing her thing and Kirito, a brand new player, kicking such ass? As annoying as Leafa/Suguha can be at times at least she is trying to give Kirito some good advice. Like no you can't run around trying any key you find. Silly person.

No magical do overs here.

I thought Leafa was going to rush in there with Kirito but I guess we needed to change things up. I thought Kirito was going to rush in there and win right away. Like look how awesome I am. I can go into an area that requires an entire race of people and kill them all. Okay I didn't think that was going to happen but I thought maybe Kirito was going to outrun them. He did have all those Asuna memories on his side powering him up. Insert some anime magic here!

A new concept for Kirito!

Or not! Kirito actually died....and stayed dead. He didn't get some magical do-over. He fought against something that required many more people and no matter how mentally strong he was being he couldn't take it on. Which is how it should be. Online games have rules that can't be broken unless you are hacking. Kirito might be able to have some anime magic in real life but not in this game. Or he used it all up when he came back to life in SAO.

I am going to guess the Leafa came in there to safe Kirito because he was going to respawn in there over and over again and she felt bad for him? Um does that mean she needs to go save Recon? Anyone remember that kid? Nope I guess not. But Leafa has gone above and beyond for some guy she barely know. X___X Such dramatic injuries.

And then everything exploded.

But the real fireworks happened after Kirito was brought back. I don't think I would have wasted an item on that but that is just me. Leafa did and Kirito actually stated who he was looking for. See I would have brought up her name sooner in case other people were aware of her being trapped. But no the Asuna name has finally been said and the shit hit the fan, caught on fire, and burnt the game down.

Err.....you only thought you did.

I thought that Suguha was going to have a meltdown in her room alone and ignore Kirito. The dude had the right to be confused. I thought he would try to get in the room and realize that whatever problem Suguha was having could be dealt with later as she was not being married off to some crazy. But Kirito decided to stick around and Suguha decided to open the door.

Kirito was like what the hell is this shit? I know I have a harem but DAMN!

It all just poured out of Suguha's mouth. Just all over the place. While Suguha being in love with Kirito was sketching she did try to move on with someone else. At the speed of fast but moving on nonetheless. But it was just a pile of fail. Kirito being the same character and the fact that Suguha was betraying her incest love just made it so much...drama. Maybe Kirito should have started crying too. He probably regarded her as a close family member and now he finds out she is in love with him and his other persona and it is just too weird for words.

I believe this is 15 kinds of awkward.

I had more that I wanted to say about that but I guess the episode spoke for itself. Suguha fell in love with her “brother”, tried to move on in two days, felt guilty for moving on, and then realized she had nothing to feel guilty about and she will lose no matter what. X___X Wasn't this show about a video game? Get back in there Kirito. Asuna needs saving!
