Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate episode 5

Hello there my lovely readers! I said once the Olympics were over I would get back on track with my anime blogging. Then I proceeded to not blog anything for 3 days. Good job me!!! No really I have been sorta blah lately about a family matter. It involves people not revealing the whole truth then getting mad when their actions have consequences. Oh and I am fighting that notion that being an adult means sometimes doing things you don’t want to do. You can’t make me!!! So yeah. Been having a bad case of the blahs so I have just been chillin doing other things. Sorry about the lack o posts.

But soon I will have even more time on my hands. The husband has to go out of town for work so it will just be me and the Kira. Surely I will have to catch up on the shows I have fallen behind on right? Hopefully anyone. Up now is a show that fell behind on itself! Kio to Senkyo to Chocolate episode 5. Spoilers for insanity and…an anime convention?

Episode Summary: Mifuyu and Yuuki are in the Club Room with Chisato. They do their comedy love act and get down to business. Chisato seems to be concerned about making Mifuyu do the speech but is like peace out Yuuki. So Yuuki sets to work making all his delicious rolls and Mifuyu starts writing Yuuki’s speech. Only she seems to have two Word Documents opened and is writing on the side a love story between her and Yuuki. Yuuki and Mifuyu start up a natural conversation about how Mifuyu has to pay back Chisato for all she has done for her. See Mifuyu was (is) a sick girl and missed a year of school due to surgery. This means that when she returned to school she was a year older than all her classmates which means bad news city in Japan. Chisato was the only one who treated her like an equal thus she must repay the debt. Yuuki smiles and continues to work on his rolls. Mifuyu tells Yuuki she wants him and Chisato to be together and Yuuki says he sees Chisato in his own way. Yume comes in to talk about Yuuki’s cream which makes both parties uncomfortable. Ms. Hazuki comes in to flirt with Yuuki but quickly leaves when Mifuyu appears. Nozomi comes in just to be annoying and to ask to eat the rolls that Yuuki is having a hard time making.

Just my daily dose of inappropriate teacher behavior. XD

Isara comes on by to gives the viewers the daily dose of This School Really Sucks. Every candidate for the student council presidency is assigned a Financial Aid student to be their slave. Amazing right?! Isara and Yuuki are happy she got assigned to him until Mifuyu gets a little jealous. Or protective. Yuuki is also interviewed by some random reporter girl but everyone is more focused on getting his name pronounced wrong than getting the facts straight. The day of the primary election finally arrives and it is more like an anime convention, with colorful booths and character goods. Chisato has allowed her friends to sell their figurines and mangas at their booth. When the doors first open everyone runs to the “main” candidates booths to get their character goods, including Ai and Kii. Chisato notices that the main booths have really good goods. Yuuki notices that he forgot his speech and Mifuyu runs to go print out another one. Being the special person she is she accidentally prints out her love story involving her and Yuuki. She puts it in her bag to destroy later. Crisis averted I am sure!

Totally a high school election yes?

As the crowd files in people start making their way over to the Snack Club’s booth. They pass out yaoi sticks and cake rolls. Ai, Kii, and Chisato randomly show up dressed up as Madoka characters so they can charge more for cakes rolls and photo tickets. Yume then shows up dressed up as a Madoka character and wants to do yaoi scenes with Yuuki so the yaoi fan girls will support them. After all that insanity Mifuyu shows up and Yuuki goes to the waiting area to make his speech. Mifuyu is acting a bit off but Chisato is too busy pretending not to be love with Yuuki. Yuuki makes it to the waiting area where Moheiji is also waiting to make a speech. Moheiji says that Yuuki should support him after the primaries as they have the same goal of beating Satsuki. Yuuki is insults that Moheiji thinks he won’t get passed the primary. As Yuuki gets ready to make his speech Mifuyu notices that she gave Yuuki the love story and not the speech. OH SNAP! THE END!

Ah yes can't forget about the yaoi sticks.

Has it really been that long since we last saw underwear gate? I guess that issue is just going to be swept under the rug for now…or forever. Maybe Yuuki will catch someone else doing a horrible thing to Isara and he will focus on helping Financial Aid students too. Or support Satsuki as she already does. Either way…this episode was super light and fluffy after all that horribleness of episode 4.

Only one of us is playing though!

Much of this episode focused on Mifuyu. As one of the main girls it is a given she is in love with Yuuki. I just thought she was going to be the silent, observing type that kept her feelings deep inside and supported her friends to be happy instead of her. So what did we get? Oh all of that. XD Good job in not be predictable Mifuyu. So while she is going on and on about Chisato and Yuuki being a couple and throwing off Yuuki’s confessions as a joke…she actually does like Yuuki. And she might be a little unstable. Smart yes as she was able to write that speech fast AND write a love story at the same time. For some reason though I didn’t get the AWW poor girl feeling from her. She is a bit…well creepy. XD Sad but clearly has to work out her feelings in story form as she thinks Yuuki will be happier with Chisato.

Which makes her jealous tendencies a bit confusing. She doesn’t want any other girl around Yuuki for Chisato right? XD Or that is what she tells herself. She best just be her quiet or only glaring self because Isara has suffered enough yes? Of course maybe Mifuyu should be jealous of the teacher and not a fellow student. Or at least focus her protection vibes on that cradle robber.

So what do I think of Mifuyu’s sad background? Well it is sad in the context where she lives. If this happened in the United States obviously people would not be treating Mifuyu any differently. I speaks from experience as I was a year younger than all of my classmates. But in Japan this is a big deal, being older or meant to be in a higher grade/position. SO Mifuyu has to deal with being sick, missing school, and her new classmates being…formal with her. A lot to deal with and as special as Chisato is….well I doubt she saw herself as being nice as she is just her but still. It was nice.

Ah some special cream time!

Everyone and coming to interrupt Mifuyu and Yuuki time?....Special. Like oh no we all have to walk into the club room…and not help out at all. Nozomi is pretty much useless and since Mifuyu didn’t get jealous of her at all…well she is basically harmless. Ms. Hazuki…well she didn’t even state what she wanted. She was just a drive by lap sitter. So I guess my favorite person was Yume? I mean besides the obvious….He is pretty honest with how he feels which is more than what I can say about the other people yes?

Did you have to build the school too? Serve the food?! Seriously.

Isara is probably going to end up being my favorite girl even if I think she should do a better job of sticking up for herself. But if it is her against the entire school…AND the school I can see how she is being moused over. But she seems really nice…and I love her hair. So be nice Mifuyu! Can’t you see this news isn’t great? You are allowed to go to this school if you clean it up, work in our factory, and become a slave to a presidential candidate? But remember no clubs for you poor people! Because obviously they don’t have time to do anything else.

With the yaoi sticks packaged and the rolls made…it is time for the primary elections. Only no one told me this show was made of insanity. Okay maybe some people tried to tell me and maybe I should have known something was up with how big the school was and how over dramatic everything else was. But holy crap folks…I really did mean it when I said it felt like an anime convention. People lined up and running in like it was Disney, trying to get those limited goods like Comiket, and taking pictures of cosplayers? What the heck is this all about?!

Kii and Ai actually did something in this episode? I am shocked. Of course there something was wearing Madoka outfits. I think I would have liked it better had they been wearing wigs. Maybe we would have had a hard time telling who was who though. Still that was something out of the park I wasn’t suspecting. X__X Does this make Team Yuuki look desperate or really…creative? It is hard to tell. Here have a yaoi stick to think it over.

Yume and his own little…outfit. Special. But I guess one must pander to yaoi girls. Because we get so little in life. Throw us a bone apparently. Can’t make too many shows about actual yaoi/gay pairings or our little minds will blow up. It is better to make a one sided love that is just the butt of all jokes. So…can I buy that manga? Or at least see these scenes Yume was talking about?

Not the wrong folder! I am shocked!

Mifuyu giving Yuuki the wrong folder? I am shocked folks. SO SHOCKED!!! One would think she would put it in a different colored folder or at least make sure she didn’t give her love speech to Yuuki. One because he is dumb and he would probably start reading it out loud to everyone instead of realizing HEY this is wrong. And two…don’t you want to keep this love a secret? Someone needs to work a little harder on keeping this under the rug. XD Poor Mifuyu, hiding how you feel is hard.

Moheiji is a jerk. He is already counting Yuuki out of the race before it has truly started. Of course….given that 100 people are running it is unlikely most them will make it past this stage. Still I am sure that Moheiji could have worded this all better so he didn’t sound like an asshole AND get Yuuki’s support if he did indeed lost. Just…you are already creepy with the mask dude. Don’t be a jerk on top of it.

Surely this speech will go off amazingly yes?

So…basically everyone was being insane in this episode. It was light and fluffy with a side of OH we are still jerks to poor people so don’t you forget it. And then everything turned into a convention and who cares about the real issues right?...But now I want cake. X___X
