Accel World episode 17

BEHOLD! I am alive!!! The Olympics has really taken over my house folks. XD They only come along twice a year so I am giving myself a bit of a break in trying to keep to any kind of schedule. Still I am trying. I do have a handful of posts that are in different stages of doneness. I can only watch so much volleyball before I need a break...So posts are on the way folks! Sorry for going semi MIA during the Olympics.

It is time for sparkles!

The post that was the furthest along happened to be Accel World episode 17 for some reason. Even though I believe it was the last thing I watched. I am so fair. Spoilers for Haruyuki attempting to get his wings back woohoo!

Haruyuki is having the best life ever weeee!

Episode Summary: The last few moments of the previous episode are recapped. Sky Raker teaching Haruyuki about the incarnation system and receiving her “wings” as a gift. Haruyuki vows that he will soon return them as he will get his own wings back. Haruyuki is contemplating this all when he gets a video call. He wonders who it could be. Surprise it is Kuroyuki! She is on vacation and her friend reveals the…well more revealing bathing suit ever for a middle schooler. Haruyuki is happy to see her but there is a bit of a moment when Kuroyuki’s TINY scar is revealed. Kuroyuki says that she is proud to bear it as it reminds her to be strong for her friends. Haruyuki resolves to become strong and protect Kuroyuki one day. Kuroyuki gets embarrassed and changes the subject on Takumu calling her out of the blue asking about Nomi’s transfer records. She asks if something is up and Haruyuki lies to her. Haruyuki goes to school with confidence that things are going to work out but feels a bit upset when he sees Chiyuri and Takumu looking upset themselves in class. Fast forward to gym class and Haruyuki is being picked on for being overweight. Because we can never forget that Haruyuki is bullied every single day.

Haruyuki reads lips and Takumu reads minds. Or uses 9283 points to look cool. Either way.

While running around the field Haruyuki sees Takumu doing something and as everyone in this show can read lips sees he is about to Burst Link. Haruyuki does so himself, upset that Takumu wants to battle him. But he is shocked to see he is a spectator in a battle between Takumu and Nomi. Takumu apologizes for his behavior (the slap in Haruyuki’s house) as Takumu has been updated on the status of Haruyuki lack of wings. Takumu is here to battle Nomi for Haruyuki. Takumu explains he realized that Nomi was using Brain Burst to ace all his exams so he simply kept using points to catch Nomi cheating. Nomi goes on and on about how this program exists to take all that you can and accepts Takumu’s challenge. Haruyuki decides to have faith in his friend and watch the battle. At first things go well. Takumu has the upper hand, knowing what will and won’t work against Nomi based on his type and such. Nomi realizes he needs to pull out his big guns now and starts using the incarnate system to change his body and have the upper hand.

Nomi is like a crazy clown at this point.

Soon it is Takumu laying on the ground nearly defeated. Haruyuki bows and begs Nomi to allow a battle royale so Nomi can defeat him instead and take his points. Nomi accepts and Haruyuki hopes Takumu will as well. The second Takumu does Haruyuki springs into action ready to fight Nomi. Haruyuki shows off his new ability to use the incarnate system which means Nomi needs to pull out his bigger guns. Literally a flame thrower gun and Haruyuki’s wings. Nomi covers the field in lava and declares himself the winner. Haruyuki then summons Sky Raker’s wings (which are boosters really) and shows Nomi he can fly as well. Through team work and the power of love Haruyuki and Takumu are able to defeat Nomi. They do the standard see what friendship can do speech..when Chiyuri comes out of nowhere and heals Nomi. Nomi starts cackling, that he is not a Brain Burster because that is what the first generation called themselves and prepare for an ass kicking! THE END!!!!

This episode seemed rather short didn’t it? Wonder if that means my blog post will be short…XD You know me and my constant babble and continuous refusal to use correct grammar.

Maybe anime watchers have bad memories or something.

You know things might be short in an episode when the first two minutes of a show are dedicated to going over what happened in the last episode. Last time on Dragon Ball Z but slightly different. Or maybe the writers were upset that they got rid of Sky Raker so fast considering how cute she is. I have a feeling that in Season Two (because we are obviously getting a season two folks) we will see more of her. Unless Haruyuki gets his wings back like next week and he can return Sky Raker’s boosters…at the airport so she can see Kuroyuki. But even then she has the potential to stick around so Kuroyuki can worry about everyone stealing her man.

She got hit by a car and that is all that happened to her?! X___X

Before things got all dramatic in Haruyuki’s life he got a phone call from Kuroyuki. That is the good thing about having advanced technology in animes. If done so in the right way you don’t have explain yourself that well. Like duh this is such everyday by now we can’t really stop and explain how simple it all is. It was a bit weird though to see Haruyuki in piggy form and Kuroyuki looking like herself. Phone verses the internet I suppose.

Oh and Kuroyuki is the one on vacation. Haruyuki is off sleeping in boring land. She should be the one we see….so we can see the latest fashion in under aged swim wear. I swear I have underwear that covers more than that. Fanboys I hope that you enjoyed your moment. That was pretty…revealing for a middle girl student. What is she going to wear in high school?! X___X.

Oh yeah that Nomi kid...

To make the fanservice moment no so obvious Kuroyuki had to say something that was relevant to the plot. Takumu contacted Kuroyuki while she was on vacation to talk about Nomi’s records. No red flags there folks…..I mean not sure why she was so freaked out at another potential Brain Burster being in school anyway but she knows that something is up and that Haruyuki was lying. I am sure she will stay where she is and will say I trusted you to do this on your own Haruyuki. Which will make him feel all proud and stuff on the inside. Sparkly even.

They bring such confidence to Haruyuki.....

One second Haruyuki is like I CAN DO THIS! But then he arrives at school and Chiyuri and Takumu look upset. For different reasons but still it took a blow to Haruyuki’s confidence. He is a roller coaster of emotions isn’t he? Oh and then to make sure Haruyuki really isn’t having a good day a bunch of people have to bully him during gym. I didn’t think the car dude (lets run people over YAY) was the only person who picked on Haruyuki but it was still sad to see. :( School can be so harsh on people. One person says something mean and it becomes a ripple effect. Glad that Haruyuki has some friends though.

Haruyuki needs to become a sharp shooter or something. X__X

Haruyuki has eagle eyes though! Like how did he see Takumu saying that? He was running, probably out of breath, and far away. Crazy. But even crazier is that Haruyuki thought Takumu was challenging him. Um maybe Takumu was doing something else at the time? Especially since Takumu didn’t ask for a duel and was the first one to Burst Link. What a weird conclusion Haruyuki.

After Burst Link time Takumu reveals he is really battling Nomi for Haruyuki’s sake. Turns out that Takumu was quite busy last night when Haruyuki was falling off cliffs and what not. Takumu is like my bad I should have known the person who was cheating using Brain Burst was the one threatening my two friends. MY BAD! Takumu seemed very apologetic but after all this is said and done Haruyuki needs to apologize too. That was some crazy stuff coming out of his mouth.

You might want to wait before announcing that....

The first part of the battle between Nomi and Takumu was interesting. As it should. If Nomi is running around and taking people’s power he might not have developed the necessary skills to actually play the game. So Takumu was right in everything he did. There was a bit of I know what you have been through nonsense but Takumu got down to it and was like um no you suck give my boy back his wings.

Can Nomi do everything? Does all this build up exist so when he falls it is that much sweeter?

Nomi knows about the incarnate system? I am shocked!!! Good thing we learned about it last week! Otherwise it would have been a complete shock. Kidding kidding. But seriously this kid has an ability that can steal other people’s abilities AND he knows about the incarnate system. He should be known all over brain Burst right? So why isn’t he? Is it connected to the fact he doesn’t show up on the boards? Second Generation Brain Bursters have found a way to cheat the system? I am sure the two are connected. It just seems…way over the top that Nomi, a relatively lower level player (not like Kuroyukis and Sky Rakers), knows about this ability. So who told him….

So Takumu got his ass kicked. Perhaps Nomi has over estimated his terror over this group. Like yes people are just going to lay down and give up because you are that scary. Nomi is way too full of himself. A little snot. Glad that Haruyuki just didn’t give up. We all knew that but Takumu had to believe in the power of friendship! WOOHOO!!!

You need to count on your bros!

That was a pretty nice second half of the battle wasn’t it? Nomi flying around with his new wings and flame launcher that apparently shoots out lava. Yay fairness. Haruyuki strapped on his “wings” and things became…almost fair? Because those wings had a time/energy limit on them! Gosh can’t Haruyuki catch a break? Again if Nomi hadn’t been so full of himself he probably could have taken Takumu’s points and lived to fight another day. He just didn’t count on the love and sparkle power of friendship.

Thanks Chiyuri. You are so helpful.

Or…maybe he did. You know we can’t have Haruyuki winning and thinking highly of himself. No no we must jab sharp little needles into his eyeballs and tell him NO HOPE FOR YOU! Because just as Takumu and Haruyuki talk about trust…Chiyuri comes out of nowhere and heals Nomi. Clearly she is insane. Or has been further blackmailed by the little crack head. Either way the friendship is being tested yes? She is just trying to get things back to how it used to be….by making sure no one can play the game anymore? Just wow though. Nomi is the luckiest person on the planet. Just asking though why didn’t the boys notice she was logged in? The Nomi trick at work or they just weren’t paying attention?

I think I was expecting...wings. Don't know why.

So next week we will find out the exciting conclusion to the Nomi drama? What?! A side story with Kuroyuki and some island Brain Bursters?! Why would you do that to me!! Rarw to unfair indeed.
