5 posts in one "day" WOOHOO! Of course I probably have more than 5 to catch up on at this point but who is counting right? Oh I was....carry on then!
Before my head hits the pillow one more post. So I can do it all over again tomorrow. Up now is Amnesia episode 4. Spoilers for Shin kinda sucking.
Just looking for the person who is supposed to help me but so far is SUCKING at it.
Episode Summary: Shujinko stands up and continues to look for Orion. She can barely hear him but he never appears. Shin decides that this is normal behavior for Shujinko now and pays no mind to her strange behavior. He walks her home and tells her that he doesn't want to go back to being friends/family like. He understands this is going to be hard on her but that is how he feels about the situation, frustrated. Shin leaves and Shujinko feels bad that her memory loss is affecting Shujinko in a negative way. The next day at work Shujinko seems to be doing better which makes Waka sad as he wanted to attract a new clientele with her bandages. Shujinko smiles and should wonder why she works at such a place. Sawa happily skips into work with a flyer about fireworks. She doesn't think that Shujinko can handle big crowds yet and suggests they have fireworks of their own. Waka texts Mine and Toma as Sawa makes Shujinko calls Shin. Shin says that he has to go to prep school and that he can't attend. Shujinko seems sad about this but Waka says it can't be help. Onward to work....which we see nothing of this episode. They set off somewhere to do fire works where Toma feels as if he is the babysitter and not one to see fireworks. As they set to work setting things up Shin appears and takes Shujinko aside to talk to her in private. Shujinko gets a little uncomfortable with how this talk is positioned and tries to run away. Shin says that is how Shujinko got hurt in the accident, that she was running away from him. Apparently when they went on their work trip Shujinko roomed with Sawa which pissed Shin as he had...other romantic ideas. Thus the fight was his fault and Shin doesn't want Shujinko running away from him again. He promises she will never be hurt because of him again and he promises to protect her.
Surely this is the way to get someone to like you again yes?
They go back to watch the fireworks as Shin talks about how Shujinko brought him back to the human race. When he was younger his father accidentally killed a drunk man who was being aggressive with him. People judged him and the only ones who would be his friends were Toma and Shujinko. Shujinko is relived to learn that her memories were a bit off on this topic but fails to realize it is the same memory....taking place right now. They smile and take part in the fireworks which includes sparkles and setting Toma on fire. Later on the way home Shin, Toma, and Shujinko walk near a park where they played as kids. Shin is pretty sentimental about how he wants to give Shujinko back her memories and Toma is like....AWWW! I will leave you two alone now. They go to a park where Shin is all RARW I am not a nice person and Shujinko thinks that he is. Shin talks about how he is going to show Shujinko he is a man and demand kisses all the time. It is important to Shin that they remain a couple and not go back to being friends. But Shujinko promises he truly loves her even though he is a jerk. Shujinko thinks to herself she really needs to get her memories back for Shin as she is hit by a truck. She wakes up in her room as her phone is ringing. It is Ikki saying he will be over in 5 seconds. Shujinko has no idea what is going on so she consults her diary. Only she finds it empty and the date is August 1st again. She walks outside to see Ikki surrounded by tons of girls, including the ones who yelled at Shujinko that day. Shujinko hangs back and Ikki takes her confusion as jealously. He says that Shujinko can ask him for a sexual favor if she wants. Before Shujinko can ask Ikki why he is being weird the strange woman for before appears and Ikki seems to know her. THE END!
Dude she doesn't even know who you are.
And then it was confirmed that are multiple timelines/universes going on. So Shujinko will be confused and the viewers will be confused and we will all skip in confusion together yay!!!!!
Can someone inform Shin its not all about him?
Shin and his badly dressed self needs to get a hold of himself. I mean.....I can't imagine how it would feel if my husband lost his memories and he looked at me like I was a stranger. But at least I would know who I am. He would be walking around confused about everything and everyone. Being upset and thinking about how this affects me is something I should do in private, not in front of the one who is all confused.
Let's talk about me more okay?
Plus it's been like 5 minutes. It's not like she has lost her memories for months and months. Give the girl some time and chill out. You have only been dating for a few months. So worst case scenario you just...take it slow and over time earn her trust back. Of course she did forget all about when they were kids...Still Shin was being way too impatient about the situation and needed to back off.
And you're insane.
Is Waka going to have different personalities in each timeline? Because that would be amusing to say the least. Not sure I liked how he was talking about how Shujinko should have kept the bandages on to get other customers interested in the cafe. I know he doesn't know about her memory loss but profiting off of other people's injuries is kinda tacky.
Why can't anyone let this girl rest?
Sawa randomly suggesting to do fireworks was a nice and subtle way to get the entire gang together. I say entire gang as not all the boys seem to be present in each timeline. But since it is August time, when most people in Japan see fireworks, it isn't totally out of the realm of possibilities that they were going to see fireworks and this was just a safe way to include Shujinko in on the fun. I am not sure how I feel about their boss having all of their numbers in his cellphone though.
Call him anyway!!
I kinda felt bad that everyone was pressuring Shin to come. The rest of the crew seems to be in college and have forgotten about how stressful it is to take your exams in your senior year. :( It just painted Shin as a stick in the mud. :( Putting him in an awkward situation. Can't say no to Shujinko indeed.
Well if you are going to stop the fun yeah you should have stayed away.
Okay so Shin can't say no to her. So while everyone else was trying to light themselves on fire Shin decided to ruin the party by telling Shujinko about the night of the accident. So maybe he is a stick in the mud. Party pooper! Could have told her later but I guess he felt that he needed to get everything off his chest.
So....you're a jerk?
Shin and his badly dressed self explains that when they went on the work trip Shin wanted to have sex with Shujinko and since she was rooming with someone else that wasn't going to happen. Yeah Shin not really liking you at this point. I mean...I can see why he blames himself and didn't want to tell Shujinko the truth. Because the truth is pretty crappy. Who wants to have sex on a trip when all your co-workers are a few feet away? Plus they had just started dating and Shujinko seemed to be having trouble with the kisses. Just....Shin was assuming way too much and should feel bad. All his whining is annoying now. Well of course she was going to lose her memories anyway but this time around it was his fault.
Doesn't this seem familiar?
Shujinko seems happy with this knowledge for some reason as Shin has told her the truth. Even if he is a sparkler hater. At least knows the truth right. Shin decided to keep on walking down the crazy truth train and told her about his family's dark secret. Again pretty heavy stuff for someone who has no idea who she is. I don't think Shujinko minds though as it answered a question she had in her head, is Shin a killer or not. Again with the parent does something and the rest of the family is judged. At least that was cleared up.
The power of fireworks confuses her!
I know that Shujinko isn't thinking correctly but she should be thinking....maybe things aren't quite right. Yes throwing firecrackers at Toma is fun but shouldn't be wondering why the days are repeating themselves and that Shin is telling you WHILE holding a sparkler a story you already know? And where is your friend Orion? Shujinko needs to have a bit more worrying in her facial expressions and not....confused.
Or how about you slow down and let me figure out my life?
I might like Toma better since Shin is all about getting what he wants out of Shujinko. Get it through your head it is your fault this happened to her. All about showing her your a man and demanding kisses...no bueno. Why don't you promise that you won't suck all the time and will prove to her you have changed. If I was Shujinko I would run away from this freak.
Why are you hanging out with people who hate me?
Shujinko might not have to run though as she has woken up and it is August 1st again. Instead of being startled that Ikki is the one calling her and not Shin she rolls with the punches. Poor forgotten Orion indeed. I think I would have told Ikki I wasn't feeling well and could we go out later. You know, have time to figure out this hot mess. Instead Shujinko got ready faster than fast to meet with Ikki.
Um....do you hate me too?
And that is how the episode ends. Shujinko sees the rude girls fan girling over Ikki. I am guessing he is really an idol and moonlights at the restaurant during Shujinko confused timelines. He seems very....fabulous no matter what and he is much more aggressive than Shin. Which I wasn't happy about so I am thinking this timeline might have a lot of eyerolling. Oh and another girl who hates Shujinko has showed up. Yay for Shujinko being confused forever yay!!!

Hello @Christina
Just finished watching this episode.
Where is Orion indeed! I miss Mr. exposition spirit! :(
I don't think Ikki was more aggressive than Shin. He seemed more playful with the princess by honoring a request than being "touchy-feely". I guess in this timeline, he's the princess' secret girlfriend other than the generic fangirls.
Yes, I do agree that the characters should give the princess some time to recover but I'm speculating that some supernatural force (besides Orion) is guiding her rapidly through the multiple timelines for whatever purposes.
Why are the mean girls hanging around Ikki? Are they doing it to get back at the princess for the band incident? Why didn't they say anything to her when she's in front of Ikki? Is Rika (blonde girl) the official girlfriend of Ikki? Is Ikki cheating on Rika by dating the princess? Does Rika have any connections to both the princess and Orion? The audience has many questions and confusion indeed.
This episode does prove the multiple timeline theory indeed. The princess wakes up on August 1st with a different boyfriend, new manager, altered events, and general weirdness. Did the princess die in the previous timelines? If so, who's responsible for reviving her in a new timeline? I doubt it's Orion because he's perhaps weak after his transition into the real world. What's his purpose in the real world and why did he attach his spirit to the princess other than survival? Did somebody send him? The audience is curious to learn more of this supernatural event.
That's all on Potato Princess 2.0.
Anonymous- I miss Orion too! He isn't helping her very much if he wasn't present the entire Shin timeline. :( Not that he was very helpful the first few episodes but him being around seemed to help our princess.
Ikki seems way too playful for my taste. Maybe because we know she has no memories but....since Shin was being that aggressive I guess I can't fault playfulness can I?
I am going to go with the theory that the mean girls are fans and not bandmates now. Although Ms. Princess should have bandmates and that would make sense. But them hanging out with the other girls makes me think they were jealous of Ms. Princess....um working.
Things to do seem to be going by super fast for Mr. Princess. Her brain might explode at this rate. X___X
I just notice, Mine (did I spell her name right?), anyway the pink haired girl, her skirt is very similar to the "witch" we saw at the end of this ep. Hm~ may be they know each other?
It is good to see your blogs, hope to hear your comments on PsychoPass (PP) ep14, Zetsuen no Tempest (ZnT) ep 15, and Maoyuu Maou Yuusha (MMY)ep3 soon. ^_^
Anonymous-Clearly blogging 7 episodes in one season was a big mistake. XD Or I am a slacker. One or the other.
Rika (the lady at the end) is so random I must have missed the fact she is dressed similar to Mine. Everyone is dressed so horribly I try to block it all out. XD
