Sorry for falling off the face of the planet the past couple days. Let’s just say being an adult can be fun at times. And by fun I mean I wish I could slap sense into people. I don’t see the point in being mature when someone is so beyond wrong it is scary. Have you ever been in a conversation like that before, where the other person is so far beyond the truth yet think what they believe is correct? I have, many times. And each time I just want to scream in frustration.
Just as a note I don’t go around slapping people nor do I condone psychical violence. Just after two hours of conversations that lead to nowhere leave me feeling crazy and angry. Very angry. Thank goodness for cats right? Or at least one of my cats. The snuggly one.
So now that I have complained and been such a downer…YAY ANIME TIME! WEEE! I started writing this Thursday if you can believe that. Hopefully everything makes sense. But since this is a show about crystal people and Void powers maybe my post is okay. XD We shall see.
Episode Summary: Early on in the episode Gai tells Shu to enjoy his free week at school. Gai and Inori are going on some secret mission so Shu is free from his Funeral Parlor Duties. Before that can happen though Inori helps Shu and Souta with their video. Kanon tries to give Hare some advice on how to score Shu. She pushes the two together on a shopping trip and takes off. Hare is a little awkward but that lasts about 5 seconds. She realizes that she needs to go in for the kill. She is about to tell Shu how she feels when Yahiro runs into the train with drug dealers on his tail. Shu is all like OH YOU. Shu tells Hare to go on ahead as he needs to talk to Yahiro. Eventually Yahiro takes Shu to his brother Jun who is covered in sparkle crystals. His condition is getting worse as the day goes by. Originally Yahiro was selling drugs to pay for Jun’s medical treatments. Then he turned Shu in so he could get Jun into the Antibodies Treatment Center. But haha Jun wasn’t getting any better and Antibodies was going to kill him. During Shu’s dramatic escape Yahiro took Jun and they have been on the run ever since, hiding in different places including churches. Now he wants Shu’s help since he has connections to Funeral Parlor. At first Shu is like -______- but decides to help because Jun is innocent. Shu forces Funeral Parlor to meet them at a certain point.
Secretly Segai has been following Yahiro and is overjoyed to see him lead the way to Shu. Daryl thinks it is overkill sending him to send Shu but he cooperates with Dan’s AMAZING plan. While moving Jun Segai and his people open fire. Shu is forced to pull out Yahiro’s Void even though he protests every minute and thinks Shu set him up. Shu tries to pull Daryl’s attention off him but eventually Jun is taken hostage. Before Shu can save him Jun basically goes insane and the virus crystal takes over Daryl’s mecha. Daryl gets all zapped and falls unconscious. The now infected mecha takes Yahiro and starts to squish him. Yahiro tries taking out the mecha but he realizes that it is not only infected but possessed with Jun. Jun and Shu then have an out of body experience. Jun is able to talk freely and explains that people infected with the sparkle virus can see voids and the truth inside people’s hearts. He saw how Yahiro took care of him all these years but inside had resentment and wished to be free of him. After experiencing Lost Christmas from ground zero and seeing all the ugliness in the world he wants Shu to kill him before all the anger takes over and he (Jun) kills Yahiro. With a heavy heart and Yahiro about to die Shu complies. Yahiro eventually wakes up and Shu is like oh yeah I killed your brother. But Shu is definitely suffering from the crazies when he says so. Hare is pretty shocked as she followed the boys and saw the whole thing. THE END!
I….wha….I don’t…what?
I really honestly have no idea what to say. I am so confused. Just…. I need a moment.
Apparently taking many moments lead to me wasting tons of time and accomplishing nothing. Still don’t know what happened on America’s Next Top Model. Probably nothing and that is the point. Tyra’s show sucks so they have to make up some random drama for people to care. Stupid reality shows.
Ah yes. Guilty Crown. HMM FOLKS!
First it is a little sad to see Hare in this episode. Usually it is easy to hate of the girl getting in the middle of the “main” couple. But usually this in the middle girl was around first. So really Inori stole her man right?! And Hare wasn’t going to spend the whole day shopping and making moon eyes at Shu. She was ready to tell Shu right then and there how she felt. This girl doesn’t mess around. But now. Just sadness. She probably feels as if she can’t compete with Inori and now there is the tiny detail that Shu is some sorta super person with the government on his tail AND he just killed Yahiro’s little brother. This could all be a bit too much for Hare to handle. Just a little.
I am not sure what Inori and Gai were doing this episode. Shu really needed Gai and his amazing ability to know everything. But it looks like they were worried about Lady Gaga taking over Inori’s idol spot and were rushing to put out her new music video. Way to go Gai. We actually need you this week to explain the WTFness and you are off….doing off things. RUDE!
I think Yahiro’s situation is tragic. I mean…we all want to hate him right? Turning in a friend to save his drug selling butt to then turn in the same friend to save his brother which leads to asking the same friend for help only to have the brother die at the friend’s hand. A real tragedy! And I mean it, I am not being sarcastic here!
Yes Yahiro did something awful. He sold drugs to other people to provide for his brother. He sold his best friend out to get his brother the best care possible (well or so he thought). And then he used emotional blackmail to get Shu to protect his brother and endangering himself again. And yet…it is hard to really hate him. Hopefully if we were all placed in this…..awfully awful situation we would be strong enough to handle it alone. But chances are we are not Rick from The Walking Dead. We might be more like Shane, ready to protect OURS by any means possible. Really we should all strive to be Daryl because he is hot, eats squirrels, and wears necklaces made from ears.
The point is Yahiro was doing what he needed to do. Sometimes war and catastrophes do really horrible things to the survivors and not everyone can have a high ranking Mommy scientist or a pink haired popstar protecting them. Sometimes the normal people have to dig their way out of a hole alone when others have plenty of help.
Shu being able to put aside his personal feelings about Yahiro was very noble. Granted maybe he needs a little help when it comes to the emotions the girls are sending out but he seems to understand men a lot better. Maybe part of him understood why Yahiro did such things. That Yahiro was backed into a corner and if placed in that situation Shu would do the same. Or maybe Shu was really only trying to help Jun. In any case Shu might not really want to be a part of Funeral Parlor but he isn’t above demanding favors.
It is hard to take this show so seriously when people have rocks growing out of their heads. I’m sorry. It is a sad episode and all but when Jun falls on the ground and tiny pieces of his…condition leave sparkly little fragments on the ground I can’t help but laugh. It’s funny okay! And I am a mean person! This isn’t zombies or a flesh eating bacteria. Or maybe it is but it SPARKLES! SPARKLES! Things that sparkle usually are fun and innocent. Not deadly.
On a serious note I think Segai needs to fire all the snipers under his command. But maybe Segai needs to be fired as he probably just wanted to scare the boys so Shu could power up and use the Void. Because Segai loves Voids. Probably a little too much.
Oh and when did Segai fill down his teeth? He seriously looks crazy. Love that he was making fun of Dan and sucking up at the same time…but those teeth. X__X Those teeth folks.
So now we are up to the X__X moment of the show. Things are looking bad as Darly (not the hot Daryl from The Walking Dead, the other one) cornered our hero with his Void seeking device. The disease has the same wavelink as the Voids. Which I am on board with. I can SEE this making sense. Whether this all alien or human made Voids are pretty weird too. Of course Shu is the weirdest of them all but that is beside the point.
The point is that we don’t know exactly what the virus is or what the disease is doing to people. And to be honest we still do not know what Voids are. Maybe this virus is really the physical manifestation of human emotions, hatred and fear. Voids are pretty dangerous tools if they are made from our souls/hearts. A pair of scissors that can separate a soul from the body? Creepy. Yes it is INTERESTING the virus comes in the form of sparkles but what if it is a living creature feeding on its host but takes on different forms, the sparkles and the Voids.
And then I reread that paragraph and it sounded better in my head. I suck. :( Just that maybe this virus is changing people into the next stage in their evolution or something. And that stage is taking two paths. The humans that are left with “powers” inside them or humans with “powers” on the outside. And since this is just a stage in evolution things like why only the 17 year old and under crowd have Voids can be explained biological. Cells eventually stop reproducing and start dying so maybe 17 is the magic number.
Now that all being said…how the hell did a disease that is affecting a human being take over a robot machine thing? Because that is where I got lost. Suddenly Jun’s soul was inside a machine. And changed how the machine looked and function. That is where the show damn lost me. Because a crystal disease cannot affect a metal robot. Because I said so.
It is interesting the crystal infected people can see “Voids”. Which could be a fancy way of the other side of a person or their heart. But in Jun’s case he couldn’t tell the difference between genuine Yahiro and frustrated Yahiro. We all think negative thoughts every single day. If we meant every single one of them no one would be married. Or happy. Or alive. Sometimes my mom pisses me off so bad I think what my life would be like without him. Does that mean I don’t want her to be my mom? Of course not. It is a fleeting thought in anger. And while it was hurtful of Yahiro to think of his brother as a burden it probably came from a place of sadness and frustration, not hatred.
So while I don’t know HOW it happened Jun’s pent up sadness and anger took control of a robot and tried to kill his brother. Instead of trying to talk Jun off a cliff Shu killed him. Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand……it was pretty awful and dramatic. Shu just witnessed Lost Christmas (still not sure WHAT it is truly about) but that is terrible within itself. Shu then had to deal with Jun’s emotions throughout the years. Yes Shu could have said this was all a misunderstanding and there might be a cure one day and your brother still loves you. But if someone is suffering so horribly maybe it is not someone else’s place to say how to deal with that pain.
But there will be serious fallout. Not that Yahiro and Shu were going to be great friends anytime soon but had Jun lived maybe that would have mended itself. But Shu couldn’t reveal what he learned. Because it would put many people in danger AND he has a bit of the insane now. Not sure how much damage Yahiro can do to an insane and self-punishing Shu but he probably will try due to the fact Shu is keeping the truth from him. Nothing was really explained and we have more questions than answers at this point.
In conclusion…I think I found a lot of words about this episode. Not sure if they all make sense but it was interesting. And confusing. Because viruses can affect robots now. Amazing.

Since they are related, I think we can now safely assume that young people didn't have weapons in their chest before the 'lost christmas' happened?
The way that virus affect both biological and mechanical beings need real explanation, too bad our blonde haired god is too busy encoding music videos and uploading them to youtube.
And seeing how Shuu freely chat with Gai over Skype, makes me think it weird that he's not arrested yet. The one in love with him [and letting him go] is only Segai, not Daryl or his pops, not "Dan", or any other military officers.
Eternia- That is a good point that I really didn't think of. If Shu and Yahiro are being monitored so closely tracing what Shu is doing online shouldn't be that hard. X__X Gai better be careful what he uploads online, he is after in Japan. XD
This series keeps presenting many questions yet is slowly producing answers. Shu has asked twice now what the heck Voids are but Inori only mentions how is affects the heart/soul. Maybe she truly doesn't know. Obviously aliens are involved. Be on the look out for Kyubey!
