I was expecting the worse at work today. A huge change happened at the store and our customers don’t react well to change. Or bright lights and numbers. So I thought surely we would all die. However we only had like 10 people blow up on us and get angry. Only ten! See Saya, this is how it is done. I couldn’t save them all but I tried and saved most of them. Silly Saya.
In other news the husband is sick. :( And he is a stubborn sick person. I am usually a sleepy and pathetic sickie so I usually do whatever is asked/forced upon me when I am ill. The husband however likes to pretend he is big and bad despite having a fever and nothing in his tummy. So send good thoughts his way as he is too stubborn to go to the doctors. Silly men.
Since it is o so quiet in my house right now and there is no one to talk to I shall get some blogging done. I decided it would be a fun idea to watch No. 6 and Blood-C back to back and then blog them together. I am sure this will end well. Spoilers for Nezumi crying X___X. No seriously it is disturbing.
Episode Summary: DogWatcher is busy looting the destroyed slums. Rikiga shows up and they look around the destroyed…destroyed city. One of the dogs show up with the Sion saved baby on its back. DogWatcher opens up the jacket and it’s MOG baby time. Nezumi and Sion are dropped into the abyss which turns out to be…nothing. Just a dark place of nothingness. However there are loads and loads of bodies in huge piles from previous dumpings. Nezumi’s idea is to climb the bodies to freedom. Sion pukes and eventually follows Nezumi because he has no choice. There are people still moaning and what not because unlike Nezumi they are made of real parts and were probably seriously injured in the fall. Nezumi tells Sion to just keep climbing. Dogwatch and Rikiga get the baby back to her hotel (which survived the destruction). DogWatcher is less than thrilled that Sion saddled her with this baby but the baby calls her momma and stops crying when she holds him. She eventually leaves the baby with one of her dogs and she and Rikiga go meet with her inside contact. She quickly takes the random janitor hostage and they break into the holding facility. There is random scene with Sion’s momma and that random kid but it is lame and nothing important happened. Safu and Elyurias have a conversation, mainly Elyurias saying she is one with Safu now.
DogWatcher and Rikiga release a stink bomb into the building and are able to sneak in that way. They make it so Nezumi and Sion are able to enter certain doors with all the electronics busted. They are eventually found out and end up running. As they climb higher Sion starts to hear Safu’s voice even though Nezumi is like what? Also as they climb Sion shows a different side to himself. He is very confident in their route to Safu. Nezumi watches on as he realizes Sion is changing and or focused on rescuing a person that is not him. Later when Nezumi has to shoot some people Sion doesn’t shed any tears which shocks Nezumi. They keep on going and Nezumi is forced to shoot more rejects from the Leaf Village. One gets the better of Nezumi and kicks him around and shoots him a few times. Just as the dude is about to kill Nezumi Sion shoots them. Sion then zombie walks himself to the dude and shoots him in the head because he dared to hurt his Nezumi. Nezumi cries the whole time and when Sion snaps out of it starts crying too about killing someone. Sion snaps out of his crying faster and tells Nezumi it is not his fault. Sion tends to Nezumi’s wounds and together they go to where Safu is. She turns to greet them and clearly the crazy is with her. THE END!
I am actually reasonably shocked with this episode. Nezumi is the one that got shot? Sion is the killer? Safu is wearing clothes? Pick me off the floor folks. Going to die from shock or something.
However the mom and little girl scene was stupid as hell. I thought they were looking up at something. But nooooooooooooooo the little girl gets a random “feeling”. Shouldn’t mom be the one looking up since she knows Yoming is planning no good? Nope instead it is time for bread and muffins ya’ll. Her son is planning a dangerous mission, an innocent girl has been taken hostage, random love interest is promising to destroy the city, and she has prior knowledge to how the city was founded. Yet it is cupcakes for everyone!
Also Holy Day sucked. Not that it deserved much coverage since HELLO we only have one episode left but I thought it would be at least shown. Everyone dying verses all the people outside having fun. I wonder if that will still happen even though we are down to the last 20 minutes of the show.
So last week when Sion and Nezumi got dropped down a dark nothingness…that is exactly what it was. A nothingness. There was no hidden meaning. People were not turned into energy or green candy bars. They were just taken to die in this massive metal grave.
Which makes me wonder…what is the point? I mean obviously the writers wanted to traumatize Sion as much as possible and I am not sure how much more traumatizing life can get when you are climbing a mountain of dead and dying bodies. But why would No. 6 go through the trouble of rounding up survivors if they were only going to be dumped in a metal box to die? Obviously nothing is done with the bodies afterwards as they are still there. And since No. 6 is going LALALA about the whole outside world….why bother trying to cover up what they did? Makes no sense to me at all.
DogWatcher appears to be a girl. I think I saw the tiniest bit of cleavage. And after last week’s almost rape now we have her becoming a mother. She is complaining about Sion putting this pressure on her…and I almost agree with her. Not sure how I would handle motherhood in a massive dump that just got destroyed. But DogWatcher will probably step up and do the right thing. Because all women want babies duh.
I like how Rikiga and DogWatcher broke into the facility. It worked really well. It made a lot more sense than getting captured and forced to climb a mountain of dead and dying bodies. So….why didn’t everyone ride the nice truck to the facility? Why bother going through everything else and forcing Sion to see the ugly truth? Maybe I am missing something folks. I pick stolen truck over mountain of dead bodies any day.
Sion’s descent into partial madness was fast. I thought Nezumi was being dramatic last week/first few minutes of this episode with the whole don’t change deal. Sion was very…upset about having to climb the bodies. I would be too. But as they climbed further up the building Sion got more and more…removed from the situation. Or really accepting that life sucks and life can’t be fixed with kisses and rainbows. Nezumi shot some people in nonfatal areas and Sion didn’t see things in a grey way. They needed to be shot.
But then Nezumi got shot. It was all over then folks. Sion snapped so fast I wanted to cry too Nezumi. On one hand I really understand Sion. He has spent his whole life in a city thinking everything was fine. He rescues a hurt kid and gets his happy lifestyle taken away. He slightly questions how ODD it is that someone died when a bee came out of their neck and he is captured, sent to be killed. He is shown how people on the outside are forced to live. And he just climbed a human mountain. Anyone in his position would start to lose it. Factor in that his love interest was just shot, someone he can’t live without, and Sion just….snapped.
I said on one hand but now I can’t think of how Sion was wrong. I mean…I guess he could have just shot the dude in all his limbs and not in the head. They were just doing their jobs. But since their job entails guarding a facility with a human body mountain I am going to say…..well I don’t know. Maybe they were forced into that job out of fear. The point is Sion snapped, had reason to, and I really hope he can pull himself together.
Also the dude shot his OWN team member. No tears for him at all. Go Sion.
Nezumi on the other hand…oh lord. OH LORD. What to say. It was devastating. I am sure he felt weak after being shot and not being able to protect Sion physically. Then Sion is forced to shoot someone to protect him and Nezumi feels even guiltier. But when Sion has momentarily lost his mind and shot the dude in the head…Nezumi fell apart. And I felt so bad for him.
As much as Nezumi likes to pretend he is big and bad and nothing affects him…he does love and care for Sion. I am sure he thinks of Sion as this pure naïve thing that needs to be protect. He puts up a front like Sion annoys him but part of him is attracted to that. So when Sion went all gangsta on him Nezumi was crying as he thinks he is the cause of Sion becoming like him. That somehow he messed up Sion. :( So sad.
Their relationship has come full circle. Nezumi is the one crying on the ground. Sion was the one comforting him. I am glad Sion told Nezumi it wasn’t his fault. Not that Nezumi will believe him but Sion cares about Nezumi enough to put aside his own pain and make sure Nezumi is okay. So after their relationship became stronger through this terrible experience they go upstairs to rescue Safu. Queen of the bee people. Surely this will end well.
Holy crap. Thanks to the internet I now realize that GRANDMA was in that pile of dead people. :( Gross and sad.

The anime skipped a lot of stuff which would have made Shion's craziness seem less sudden. He's crazy from the beginning you see (hallucinating, hearing voices) and there are hints of his insanity all along, before he finally really snaps.
I think the dead body scene was meant to show how little No. 6 peeps care about the outsiders. They cull the population as it starts to grow too big, and don't even bother disposing of the dead or dying. They just dump them in a room where they rot and are eventually incinerating.
Anonymous- When you say all along do you mean from Day One or when he got dumped on dead body mountain? Either way it makes sense. If it was just in this episode though I think they could have done a better job of acting crazy. Instead of hearing Safu because that really could have been happening he could have heard random noises. But he came off as a calm person until the whole Oppies Nezumi got shot deal.
I wonder about all the living people in No. 6. I mean surely when someone dies they wonder where their remains end up. In Safu's case she got kidnapped like 5 minutes after grandma was shown dead. But other nonkidnapped people, don't they want to visit graves and such? Or are the citizens of No. 6 so far removed from the situation they don't ask any questions.
Wow, they are really driving home the fact that InuKashi is a woman. Even had the baby call her "mama." Cause all women must have babies and all babies love women. XP
And you can see how they're slowly changing InuKashi's form, to make her femaleness more pronounced. She did indeed have some cleavage this episode. I just hate these gendered stereotypes.
The similarities between the baby and InuKashi are clear though. Both were orphaned and nursed by a dog.
Regarding the third picture, did those guys just walk out of Naruto universe? I swear, I had the exact same thought as you. I thought one of the guys resembled Shikamura. XD
The action in this episode was pretty cool. Did not know Grandma would be in that pile of dead bodies. And I figure they burn the bodies eventually.
I'm worried for Safu and the others. She's such a good character. It'd be a shame if they couldn't save her. Seeing Nezumi cry was disheartening. Poor guy. I don't think it was really his fault, though his approach to breaking into the place could have been better. Without the traumatizing human mountain.
But Sion chose to be his equal. He could go the distance, though it might do some damage to his sanity.
I hope there's at least a second season. It can't be over!!
Marona- Late reply is obviously late. But I was slightly annoyed with how they were really saying WOOHOOO DogWatcher is a woman. But I guess the Japanese audience really thought she was a dude? I thought she was a girl until everyone else was referring to her as a him. Sion and his shocked face. Sigh.
And if someone sent me a baby I would be like....and what do I do with this? Not all of us feel warm inside when we see children. Some of us are very shall we say...cat people? XD
The extras in the episode really needed some work. They looked bloby. Oh and the fact that they looked like the Naruto cast was not helping.
Grandma being in the pile of dead people was sad. And unnecessary. Why not just burn the bodies? Why waste the time in transporting them to a random building that could breed bacteria and crap?
Plus it was gross. Why couldn't Nezumi just break in like DogWatcher? But Sion is a lot stronger than I am. I would still be at the bottom of that pile. Not people climbin for me.
