Sword Art Online episode 17

Hello there my lovely readers? Eating lots of candy? I ate lots of frustration so I was super happy to get home and back to….blog comments! Look I caught up folks go me! I deserve some candy too now!

Apparently Lyfa has never been to Orlando.

Before I crawl into bed and get confused that tomorrow is not Friday…one more episode woohoo! Up now is Sword Art Online episode 17. Spoilers for Kirito being the most amazing person ever. Well besides Daryl of course.

I think I heard....slap Kirito in the face?

Episode Summary: Kirito and his amazing ability to beat people at games he just started hacks another player into pixie dust. The ring leader of the group declines a battle but hints that he will one day attack again. He leaves and Lyfa wonders what to make of Kirito. He jokes that he is a knight in shining armor here to rescue all the women of the world. Yui appears and Lyfa dismisses her as a Private Pixie. Lyfa decides that Kirito too clueless about this game to be a threat and offers to buy him a drink. Kirito further proves how much he doesn’t know about this game as he suggests going to a different town instead of a neutral one. Lyfa teaches Kirito how to fly without the controls which leads to about 5 seconds of Kirito flying all crazy and the rest of the time him flying like a pro. Faster and faster they go until Yui can’t fly anymore and they reach the town Kirito finds pretty. Sadly Lyfa didn’t teach Kirito how to land so he crashes to the ground. After Kirito dusts himself off he does see he is in the wrong part of town race wise. Lyfa’s friend Recon has respawned in town and is very…suspicious of Kirito. He tries to steer Lyfa to their bar with their friends. Lyfa instead walks off with Kirito which makes Recon super sad. Kirito questions if Lyfa is dating Recon and she gets all embarrassed, protesting a lot. She explains a bit about the different races and what some of their abilities are but Kirito really wants to know about the tree. Lyfa explains that the tree is impossible to reach as the game stands now as there is a limit on flight time. But the first race of people who reach the top will get an audience with the King and that race will get the ability to fly continuously. Kirito notes that if the game has been around for a year and no one has reached the top they are either missing an important quest or several different races of fairies need to work together to reach the tree.

Helping people is dumb!

Lyfa agrees with Kirito’s assessment and states no one will reach the tree then. Kirito gets pissed as Asuna is at the top and he needs to get there yesterday. He stomps off while Lyfa looks all shocked. She then agrees to take Kirito to the tree tomorrow at 3 as she has to log off now. She leaves Kirito and appears in the real world…as Suguha who is super embarrassed any everything in her life now. Elsewhere Asuna is chillin at the World Tree, all stuck up in her bird cage. She looks miserable in her ugly dress when someone joins her. Surprise it’s Sugou, the King of the game. Sugou starts touching Asuna as she sits there all pissed. He reminds her he won’t take her by force, that she will eventually come to him on his own free will. Asuna muses that since Sugou is the game master and could do anything if he wanted to. Sugou decides to let Asuna in on some more shocking information. He tell Asuna that in addition to trapping her in the game he stole 299 Sword Art Online players before they were logged out. The reason being he is using those players to test the limits of the Dive Gear, affecting their memories and what not. Asuna threatens take this information to the police but Sugou is like do you not see where you are? He leaves, promising to return and hoping that she will be in a better mood tomorrow. Asuna pretends to be brave until Sugou walks away. She starts crying and wishes for Kirito to save her. THE END!

I can't have a crush on Recon! I love my cousin/brother.

Well…that was a pretty cut and dry episode. Maybe it won’t take me that many words or that long to blog. That way I can get back to Pokemon…I mean catching up on anime posts……

Tada! You can fly!

Kirito is the most amazing person to play video games ever. He logs into a game and can beat seasoned people who might have been playing for a year. Of course this is all unfair as Kirito still has his stats from Sword Art Online. Still not all games are created equally and one would think that he would need to get used to things. Like gamers can’t be good at ALL games. That would just be insane.

SPLAT!

So far in life Kirito is not good at saying no to strange children or landing. Other than that he is set to save the world. Flying seems like a very hard thing to learn. Imagining using a muscle/bone that doesn’t exist in your body? Very weird. I would think that Kirito would need to use the gears a bit longer than once before picking up on Lyfa’s skill. Realistic in a game with elf ears? Oh I see now. Fly just as fast as one of the strongest players in the game. I say strongest because Mr. Enemy stated he would never take on Lyfa one on one.

Sure...lets go with that....

What the hell is a Private Pixie? Didn’t he say Navigation Pixie last week? Is this like….turning off the Ethics in Sword Art Online? Poking out my eyes even harder now folks. Gagging all over the place.

Um why are you asking simple questions? Are you a noob?!

I think that Lyfa reacted…well to Kirito. Especially when he was like throw me rose pedals and a parade for that amazing rescue. She should have said um no dude I got this and stabbed him. XD Should I run away? Say thank you? Look at you like you are crazy? Yeah we will go with that one. He is too clueless about the game to be dangerous indeed.

You show up and 5 minutes later you take my woman? FIGHT TO THE DEATH!

I felt really bad for Recon. This game is really divided which makes sense given the rules that were explained later. So he just got splatted and raced to see his friend…with the enemy. I am sure he has a crush on Lyfa which doesn’t help the WTF factor. Then Lyfa leaves with the new stranger? Poor Recon. I think he needs a hug.

Look like angels. Are people going to die?

Lyfa broke down some of the rules and major themes in this new game. Gotta learn everything all over again folks. Race to the magical tree so you can fly continuously. Not clear on how one levels up yet in this game. Last time there were monsters all over the place and dungeons. Killing other players might get old all the time. Haven’t seen much of this game yet besides the Tree and Flying. I think flying for ten minutes sounds cool though. Greedy people.

I thought this was Lyfa realizing who Kirito was. GUESS AGAIN!

Kirito got slightly upset when he was told that no one reached the top. Now I am sure he is going to help Lyfa and her race as his goal is to get Asuna, not some magical wings. This will make his own race turn on him but everything will turn into the Secret of the Wings and Tinkerbell will be reunited with her twin sister. So this has real parallels to Accel World except you don’t stay dead when someone is trying to reach the top. But no matter what…games in Japan always have areas where people can stop and get something to drink.

Suguha is Lyfa. I am shocked folks. SHOCKED! How did I ever figure this out?! So…if homegirl is playing an online game why wasn’t she more understanding when Kirito woke up? Instead she pointed out when he made weird stances and stuff. Way to be supportive incest cousin sister. Now be a good little fairy elf and help Kirito find his woman. Without the blushing please. OH WAIT! She doesn't know Kirito is Kirito? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?! He looks just like himself in the game!

Cause this outfit is ugly.

Asuna needs to get her Sword Art Online clothes back. Homegirl is looking tore up. Is this what Suguha thinks a Queen looks like? He needs to stick to being an evil and taking over the internet because a fashion expert he is not. I appreciate that Asuna was pretending to be strong in front of Suguha but obviously was nervous and then cried later. This is a lot to take in. When will her nightmare end?! :( Poor Asuna.

Braiiiiiiins!

Suguha….well he seems like a better baddie that Akihiko. At least he is trying to do something evil. Experimenting on people, changing their memories. I thought at first that was a really minor thing to do and maybe he should have aimed hirer. But if you can change someone’s memory you can change who they are or who they think they are. Suddenly you might have an army full of obedient soldiers? Or a bucket load of cash as you sell it to the Americans. Stupid Americans!

That is what Kirito does best! You are in luck.

I think that is about if for this episode. We know what the baddie wants, we know how the game needs to end, and we know that Kirito will somehow be the one to beat the game after a week when people have been playing for a year and still haven’t figured it out. Because Kirito is awesome remember?
