But yes folks. Puroland was one of the things I was most excited about when visiting Japan. I am not sure what that says about me as a person but I don't care. XD I love Hello Kitty and Sanrio so I was happy. Also super happy my husband was such a great sport. Thank you bag holder and picture taker.
Behold we have made it to Puroland!!!! The tickets were about 4400 yen per person but that gave us access to all the attractions. There are cheaper tickets but that only gets you into the tree shows and the shops.
A window that displays the goodies that you can buy at Puroland. For some reason the shops didn't open until later. X__X Wouldn't you want people to buy as much as possible?
We MUST eat here. I have seen pictures online of their cute little cups and who is my favorite character? Ah yes that would be Cinnamoroll himself. So this place was a must for me.
Sadly I did not see Cinnamoroll while we were there. I wish we had seen him but you can't have everything. It was good enough just being in the cafe.
After going down the escalator this is what we were met with. I was kinda surprised as I was expecting more pink. But this was nice too and after a while the set up made more sense.
Getting your picture taken at Puroland with a character is much easier than getting a character picture at Disney. The characters had handlers and lines. But it is super random when they appear. That or the times are announced but I don't understand English. But either way yay for Sanrio characters. XD
Everything was Hello Kittyized. One can lose so much money here on tiny purchases. But the gumball machine was super cute.
Time to get in line for the boat ride. The wait was about 20 minutes but the time went by fast with all the pictures we were taking. Hello Kitty is inviting all her friends to a party. Will they show up in time?
Part of the boat ride. Really it was hard to take pictures and enjoy the ride at the same time. Good thing we took two boat rides to enjoy it all.
So many characters were featured in the boat ride any Sanrio lover would leave the experience feeling satisfied.
Fly Cinnamoroll fly! I love that he was featured so much in the boat ride as he is my favorite Sanrio character.
While we are on a boat ride all the characters were on a balloon ride. Also make sure you smile at the end as this ride takes your picture. XD
Near the end of the boat ride. Make sure you smile. Thanks for the great party Hello Kitty. You were a great host.
People get ready for the shows way in advance. We sat down to and watched the big screen that was hanging over the stairs.
The basic story of the show was 8 regular people got taken to a new mystical land and find the Sanrio characters. The Sanrio crew can only stay around during the night so when the day comes the normals are all sad.
But through wishes and the crowd cheering the Sanrio people come back for another song and dance moment.
More of the first show. We had great seats but the lights were down and they were dancing so fast. But even though we didn't understand Japanese it was easy to tell what was going on so that was nice.
Hello Kitty's house! If I said this was one of my dreams, to visit Hello Kitty's house, would that make me the biggest nerd ever?
Every part of Hello Kitty's house is Hello Kittyized. The wait for Hello Kitty's house was only 10 minutes but I think we spent so much longer in there. Sorry folks but we were going to take every picture possible.
At the end of the house you can get your picture taken with Hello Kitty. And something that I loved about Puroland and Disney was here they don't only push the buyable pictures on you. The workers insist on taking a picture with your camera too and make sure the picture turns out well. Really brightened my day.
After Hello Kitty's house we went to a carnival area that had some games. 500 yen per try to roll the dice and see what you win. I won....the 3rd place prize. But it was a nice plushie keychain that was probably worth 500 yen so I think it was worth it.
There was an area in Puroland that was set up like an arcade. A lot of crane machines and gachapons machines. Also a few coin machines for the kids to ride.
However this was everyone's favorite game. Depending on how much you put in you would get a bunch of little bullets. You would then shoot at thin paper holding up some plushies. When we were there everyone seemed to be winning. Maybe they stayed long enough to win. But my husband won something on his first coin so I was happy. XD
The second show we saw was pretty simple too. Basically Pochacco and Pekkle are sucking at what they want to do in life (soccer and tap dancing) and are very sad. But with the help of the Sugarbunnies (at this point they might be Cinnamoangels I am confused) they eat magical cake and are able to accomplish their dreams.
All the girls had really elaborate costumes. And high heels. But of course that is a must for any girl in Japan.
WOOHOO! We finally have time to eat at the cafe! I have seen pictures of the cafe online and I know exactly what I am going to get.
Behold the desserts of cuteness. A bit pricy but you get to keep the cups. Also when you buy the meals (the kid meals) you get something to keep too. So keep that in mind when you make meal purchases. SO CUTE!
This area was inside the big tree that served as the stage area. Worship Hello Kitty and give her all your money.
Basically in the Entertainment Hall you take a little Hello Kitty pot (pictured above sorta) and collect coins doing different activities. Some of the games were based for kids and were silly but it was all in good fun.
End of the first stage. I am pretty sure I was hit by the spotlight but since this game was for kids I think they were easy on us.
Congratulations on making it to the end. Your score during the game determines what kind of picture you got taken at the end. My husband got the second best score so we picked his bucket. XD
We only had 30 minutes left after the Entertainment Hall. We were there since the doors opened and we didn't have enough time for everything. I guess that is a good thing, we were never bored. My husband went around and took more pictures while I went to get my shopping on. But both of our cameras died before we could get any pictures of the shops. So sad.
A few last pictures before the camera died. Sad that we didn't get any pictures from the stores but I think we did a good job documenting our day.
So yes we have no pictures of the shop. But I hope you Sanrio/Hello Kitty fans out there enjoyed my adventure at Puroland. It was an expensive adventure but we Hello Kitty fans know how much money goes into this hobby. Any and all Hello Kitty fans should go to Puroland if they are in Japan. It is a great way to spend a day and you won't be bored for a bit.
Thanks for stopping by! Up next is Day 10 of our Awesome Trip to Japan. And maybe this Day is for the anime fans?
