But I did have a nice time spending the day with my honey. We had a great time at AWA, basically 3 and a half days of togetherness. Then we got back home and Monday through Saturday I saw the man for a collective 4 hours. :( So if my anime blog posts are late-ish this season it is a combination of me having the lazies and me trying to spend time with the husband before he goes to bed. I will probably do a lot more late night blogging instead.
Now that the husband is asleep it is time for anime! Up now is a delightful surprise. When I made my Fall Anime Line-up someone asked me why Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi wasn’t on my list. X__X Because the list I looked at didn’t have the boy love drama on it. Of course I am going to blog this crazy show part TWO. So sorry for that oversight my readers. Spoilers for…Ritsu still having a special life.
Episode Summary: Ritsu is looking around at his lazy co-workers contemplating suicide or something. He has been put in charge of getting the manga magazine put out on time. Only none of his co-workers seem that worried about deadlines and such. Hatori almost gets his in on time but Yoshino calls and out the door that goes. Takano points out that the printers were messing with Ritsu and gave him an early deadline anyway. Ritsu tries to defend his actions by saying it would be better to get it out of the way but Takano insists being an editor means doing everything the last minute. Ritsu’s bad mood melts away when his first manga gets published and brought to him. Takano tries to harass Ritsu as he leaves work. Ritsu just wishes Takano would stop suggesting weird things. Ritsu decides to go to a manga store to see how his new book sells. He is excited when some girls go WEEEE but his happy melts away when Yokozawa shows up and tells Ritsu he has no business being at the store, that it is the sale’s job. When they leave the store Yokozawa further pisses Ritsu off by telling him to move. According to Yokozawa Takano is suffering with Ritsu being around and so close. Ritsu yells he is not interested in Takano and jokes that Yokozawa is mad because he and Takano are a couple. Yokozawa gets quiet and Ritsu gets all X___X. He seems upset that Takano might be using him rather than Takano harassing him.
Back at work Ritsu is getting stressed out about the deadline and the news that Takano and Yokozawa were out drinking the night before. Takano comes by to give him (late) tips on how to deal with the printers. He then tells him his manga is doing well and that everyone is going out to celebrate. Ritsu is like no thanks dude but after all is said and done Ritsu ends up alone at Takano’s with beer. Unable to handle the silence Ritsu drinks himself crazy. Crazy stuff starts pouring out of his mouth but basically it sounds like he is jealous of Yokozawa. Well Ritsu says he wants Takano to stop messing with him since he has Yokozawa and it makes Ritsu feel upset. This leads to Takano pushing Ritsu to the floor and saying he loves Ritsu. There is some kissing and the beginnings of happy times. Ritsu starts crying and Takano says he can’t control himself around the younger man. Ritsu wakes up the next morning with a pain in his back and hickeys on his neck…yet can’t put together the pieces of what happened last night after he got drunk. Takano is clearly not amused and messes with Ritsu’s head. Ritsu makes it back to his apartment and basically melts all over the place trying to figure out what he did. THE END!
XO Where was my sex scenes?!
After season one of Ritsu Has a Crazy Life I went out and read all the available manga chapters. My thinking was that if there was going to be a season two it wouldn’t be for quite a while. Clearly I was wrong. I am glad I read the chapters of course particularly because I loved Kisa’s chapters. But now I am going to be spoiled for the rest of the series. Well until they have to start making stuff up because there isn’t enough manga material. Already in this episode I was thinking didn’t I already see this. XD I am silly.
But where are my sex scenes?!
The episode really follows the manga chapter almost to a T. I think that is a good thing? I am not sure. But maybe they should add in a few new things to give fans something else to tune in for.
I do think that everyone in the department was making life hard for Ritsu. Takano really should have had Ritsu shadow him in the process instead of throwing him to the wolves. I mean…I really don’t blame the printing department for pushing their limit with Ritsu. He is new and sometimes new people need to be tested. Of course Takano is watching over the entire process but I can’t blame them for having little confidence in the newbie’s ability.
Kisa and Yoshino didn’t play much of a part in this episode except to maybe drive Ritsu crazy? XD After reading the manga though I am interested in seeing more of Kisa. I guess Yoshino is more of the made up part of the anime as his relationship with Hatori is….different to say the least.
You are not allowed to shop ever again. Now go straight home and pay no attention to the shiny lights!
I still hate Yokozawa. I know his reasonings for everything and he is a jerk. Ritsu worked hard on his first book and he wanted to see it sell. He didn’t ruin Yokozawa’s gig. He didn’t have to introduce him or anything. Ritsu is allowed to be in a store if he wants to. Now if he started talking about displays and stuf (you know like Kisa did…) then maybe Yokozawa could have….you know what? No. Just no. If they want to see their hard work pay off they can. The more support the better right?
Then Yokozawa’s little speech about Ritsu moving is hilarious. Living in Tokyo is expensive. Like really expensive. And when you put a “deposit” down you typically don’t get that money back. Plus moving is just a pain even if you don’t own 4387843 plushies and figurines. Unless Yokozawa wants to find and pay for a new place he needs to be quiet. I am putting aside the fact that Ritsu doesn’t even like Takano. Mainly because he does…..but in front of Yokozawa Ritsu has been nothing but cold to Takano. Clearly Yokozawa is in denial and wants to blame Ritsu for the fact Takano loves him.
I understand that the concept with drinking after work is really different in Japanese culture. That it is supposed to foster a good environment or something. Maybe to make salary men poor by spending all their cash on booze and to keep them working all the time. But I tend to agree with Ritsu. If they have time to drink there is time to get work done on time. I have never been plastered myself before but I can’t imagine having work the next day after such heavy drinking.
Plus you know….everyone should have been drinking instead of just Ritsu and Takano. But then we can’t have fun sexy times yes?
You were the one who caused this Takano. But since you came out the winner I guess you are not complaining.
I like how Ritsu’s drunk behavior played out in the anime. It was similar to the manga but it was different to see him trying to move around and make sense. Not that I approve of drunky drunk behavior. I guess the only way to handle Takano is to get drunk but that lead to dangerous results. But sometimes when someone does get drunk the truth just tumbles out of their mouths. Of course that is bad for Ritsu as he thinks he is insulting Takano when really he is showing how sad he is for Takano “toying” with him.
I think I have already discussed the FORCE issue to death. Sometimes no means yes but I think that can only be applied to people already in an established relationship with set rules on….fun times. Takano is acting all butthurt because he says he loves Ritsu all the time and he can’t hold himself back? I am not sure what Ritsu was doing that was so sexy but Ritsu existing does not give Takano an excuse to touch Ritsu if he is saying no. If this was normal land and not yaoi land it would probably make a person like you LESS.
However since Ritsu seems to be in great denial and since in Japan being totally submissive is usually what the bottom partner does it was full speed ahead. Only we did not get to see it. I don’t get my gore and I don’t get my yaoi sex scenes. :( Life is hard when your name is Tenchi. I shall wash my sorrows in cheesecake. But even though the WOOHOO scene was not shown I think Ritsu crying out Takano’s name was almost romantic. Does that count?
Ritsu is full of dumb though. I am pretty sure if something was up one’s….butt they would know about it the next day. Especially if there was a conclusion to the fun times. So Ritsu. I know it has been a while since you dabbled in the man lake but you special. That is all I am saying. Special.
Now for the next 12 episodes Ritsu will torture himself into trying to remember the drunken night. Because if Takano was honest then where would we be? But I guess since he says he lose Ritsu every five minutes he figures being honest won’t get him anywhere. Especially since Ritsu is just going to give it up anyway. While Ritsu is tortured I shall enjoy Kisa having his little meltdowns on being old. 30 is not old…now that we are almost hitting that age. XD Thanks for reading!
Also the bunny in the credits is on crap this time.

Man I just love reading your reviews, its like having company when I'm watching a series haha
Oh and I agree with you about Yokozawa, he can just back the hell up! D:
Is it possible that my two most-liked series this week end with date rape? :/
Didn't remember reading your review of ep. 12.5, it's out if you missed it.
Oh, that bunny is on crack. He cracks me up. But the new intro is so passive-aggressive. Looks like everyone is pissed off about having to be in BL relationships.
Cristina- XD I love that you feel that way. Although I must admit I am a bit of a pain to go to the movies with. Unless your my best friend. Then it is like having running commentary the whole time.
Yokozawa needs to resolve his anger issues with the right person. Not the innocent boy who is like WTF is going on here?!
Anonymous 2- As much as I like my yaoi sexy times I am not a fan of force. Like 15 nos and an eventual yes is not my idea of a good time. Just focus on the other couples having the fun consensual sex for now and have Ritsu get his action WHEN HE IS READY.
I have totally not gotten around to that yet. And probably won't for a while as I am so behind this season already it isn't even funny.
Anonymous 3- Maybe they are all mad that the crazy yaoi fangirls squealing over their every move? Be nice to us boys! I kinda want a stuffed animal of that bunny.....
Christina,
Sometimes I can't help but pity poor Ritsu in his current situation. I know tons of Sekaiichi fans hate Ritsu so much due to not admitting his true feelings for Takano; however, I can't blame Ritsu for being a shy and sensitive person just like me. For Ritsu,to confess your love again to somebody who gave you your first heartbreak is to be thrown off a cliff.
Sorry for Onodera-haters. I still do respect your opinions.
