Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Crystal episode 10

Behold Sailor Moon and a technocolor....something.

SO SLEEPY! Like look at the clock, I might actually consider this the next day despite not going to sleep yet. But I said I would get all the things done that I thought were done and that included this screenieless Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Crystal episode. Why look at all the posts I did tonight?! So clearly all the screenies will fail due to bandwidth because I am special yet? Oh wells. I tried anyway. Maybe there will be a post or two tomorrow. But now it is time for blankets and sleep. Enjoy Sailor Moon episode 10 what with ugly sweaters and randoms boys from past lives.

Episode Summary: Luna is like lets go to the moon weeee! Only…we need to use our powers to get there on a specific day so by get ready I mean go to the arcade and talk about our plans in public. The other Scouts check out the book Moon For Dummies and wonder how they are going to get there. Minako acts like she is in the know, probably because she is. Everyone stops to look at Usagi who is playing video games with Naru and her other two nonimportant friends. Everyone is simply excited that a happy Usagi has returned. That night she looks at the sky and thinks about Mamoru and how she can’t wait to go to the Moon to remember her past life. The days go on and Usagi’s father comes home one night and gives her a new necklace charm for her Silver Crystal. She agrees that this gift was sorta for a boy. For a split second Usagi looks mature and what not….but then she starts fighting with her brother over a video game and she is spoiled Usagi again. Soon the night arrives where conditions are such that flying to the moon makes sense. Usagi is sad the travel is taking place in the park where she and Mamoru had a moment but she puts that aside to transform with the rest of her Scout friends. That energy and anime magic creates a self propelling bubble that flies them to the moon (and back). There is a dramatic moment where everyone is like MOG that is Earth and WOW that is the Moon. They land on said Moon and the bubble pops so….how will they get home? Anyway Luna shows them around the ruins, ruins that weren’t there when the astronauts landed or something. Luna takes them to the busted up palace and Minako acts like she knows all. They enter the old prayer room and Luna orders them all to remove the Sword in the Stone© that is randomly in the center of this room. All the girls struggle but Minako manages to remove the rusted thing. Instantly Queen Serenity appears in mini form to talk to her daughter in super formal terms. She is like oh that is the special sword you Scouts should use to protect Serenity. The Queen thanks Luna for getting them there in one piece and what not and explains while she is long dead she sealed her will within this sword to wait for them. Then Queen Serenity tells them….everything they already know. The Moon Kingdom was blessed with long life and with the Silver Crystal they were to protect and help the Earth grow. Serenity fell in love with Endymion when evil itself came and conquered Earth in hopes of conquering the Moon. Endymion was like eff the police and tried to fight them off but was killed. Serenity then killed herself in sorrow. Queen Serenity sealed the Evil away but apparently that was only a bandaid as the Evil is back. As payment for using the Crystal the Moon Kingdom was destroyed and by this time Earth has reset due to all the evil there. Queen Serenity says that only Usagi has the power to use the Crystal correctly and release the power to destroy the evil, not seal it. Queen Serenity seems concerned when she is told that part of the Crystal went into Mamoru. Then she is like oh that is just Usagi’s kind heart trying to save Mamoru. The Queen tells Usagi her heart is the reason why she was reborn and to be both the Princess and a normal girl in all of this. Then she poofs away and everyone bubbles back home with 2 details more than when they went. The Scouts watch the sunrise on Earth and talk about how the Moon was so different when they lived there and that is why they loved Earth. Usagi seems in better spirits and believes Mamoru is alive.

You are not being sneaky enough!!!

Meanwhile in DarknessRUs Queen Beryl decides to go visit Queen Metalia. Kunzite leads the other Kings in the least sneaky mission ever to find out what is up with these maybe memories they have. Queen Beryl tells Queen Metalia that they can’t find the Crystal in Mamoru but she wants to keep him around as a love pet…I mean in case he might be useful. Queen Beryl is like we need to conquer the world now was the Princess and Silver Crystal are in the picture. Queen Beryl is also worried as she thinks the 4 Kings will regain their memories soon. What?! GASP! Then instantly all the Kings remember they are actually the knights of Endymion. Before they can do anything Queen Beryl is like haha so you all remember now? She starts to attack them and they get pissed, saying this wasn’t why they were reborn. Queen Beryl then brainwashes them into only obeying her. As the Scouts are told by Artemis and Luna at headquarters they think the enemy is in a certain spot in the world due to plate movement…everything goes insane on the monitor. Brainwashed Kunzite is leading the charge in Tokyo. He is going to freeze it over to the Evil Queen Metalia can move right on in. The Scout appear and everyone starts fighting to protect Usagi. Until Minako is like no we shouldn’t be fighting at all. Everyone is like why? Minako explains that these are Mamoru’s Knights and once when they followed Usagi to Earth they met these Knights and all fell in love with them. All the girls lose the will to fight as a Beryl voice over is like HAHA isn’t this tragic? Well Sailor Moon can still fight. After she does her speech she attacks….from space. She heals the entire city from ice and attacks the Knights. She almost heals them and the other Scout attack too but they escape. Usagi looks over the Earth while holding the locket to her chest. Back at EvilRUs Queen Beryl wakes up a drugged out looking Mamoru and declares him a puppet that will kill Sailor Moon and get the Crystal. He then is sent shopping at the set of Sinister as he shows up with Grandpa sweater near the arcade. THE END OF THE LONGEST SUMMARY EVER!

Well eff you Silver Crystal!

Seriously folks. I think that might have been my longest summary ever. And it isn’t it might be the longest summary ever for a show that had about 5 minutes of new material and 3483 minutes of things we already know. WHY AM I SO WORDY?!?!?!

Soon anyway. Because the enemy is going to keep Mamoru alive until we get back.

So when we last saw our Scouts Usagi had been crying in a glowing mess on the ground and the Scouts had come over to cheer themselves up by making her smile. After a group hug Luna is like…lets go to the Moon. What with the dramatic poses last time one would assume they were going to suit up with some stolen NASA gear and head out that moment. No folks. That is just silly. People can be dramatic for dramatics sakes. Luna is like oh you thought I meant now…no I mean later this month. We can go at the full moon. Because everyone knows the Moon actually disappears throughout the month, it doesn’t really depend on the relationship of the Earth between the Moon. It really does DISAPPEAR. So really they can’t go if it’s not there. XD I like how Ami checked out a book with random facts about the Moon like any of that was going to help them. Unless there was a chapter that the astronauts left out about the Moon Kingdom. Also this talk had to take place at the arcade, not under it because secrets are lame. I don’t think anyone was really concentrating on the topic anyway as they were busy looking at Usagi and being so happy that she was with her other friends and smiling. Things are better folks. Usagi will be fine.

There is no way she could be mature or saving the world or something.

You know…since everyone believes that Mamoru is alive and not dead. They just assumed that Queen Beryl is keeping him alive because they know she loves Mamoru. Well maybe Minako knows that as she knows everything else and slowly releases this information at the moment that everyone remembers anyway. But yeah Usagi is not a crying mess because outdated info from the Moon is going to help her get Mamoru back. It is time to sit back and look stoic. Also hand your dad the super important Silver Crystal and allow him and a jewelry access to said important rock. Good thing Queen Beryl put the plans on backburner about looking in jewelry shops. X__X Seriously that was dangerous. But she gets back safe and sound and has a moment with it. Like yeah a boy sorta gave it to me…..Or you know…your Mom but whatever. Usagi’s Earth parents are like noooo she is going to get married to this boy we don’t know and she will be lost to us forever. How dare she grow up in such a short amount of time!!! Life is not fair! Or….Usagi is fighting over who gets to play her Pokemon game. Okay false alarm.

This was Luna.....doing something.

After a few nights of sleeping with her Crystal and broken pocket watch it was time to head to the park at night (because the Moon only comes out at night DUH!) and travel to the Moon. This is where a lot of anime magic came into play. You know, with a show that has talking cats for some unexplained reason. Luna was going to shake a bit and make a magical circle and use the transformation power of the Scouts to make a bubble AND travel to the Moon. Which is fine I guess but the bubble popped when they got to the Moon and they were already transformed you know. So how do they get back? Also how were they able to BREATH while on the Moon? Maybe it was different when there was stuff there but I am going to assume that using the Silver Crystal actually destroyed whatever previous atmosphere was there and the Scouts should have died instantly. But this is anime magic. Why am I asking such silly questions?

After ya'll did all the work I can handle the rest.

After they take the 5 minute flight to the Moon from Earth the Scouts quickly come across the ruins of the Moon Kingdom. The Moon Palace. Next to Moon Lake. Astronauts did a shotty job up there. Like okay boys grab a few photos, we are out of here! No one really had any feelings or emotions up to this point despite last episode everyone saying they got their past memories back. Clearly not as they are still remembering things. I guess it is all too soon for most of them although Minako could have shed a tear or too. Like guys…this was our home. All this pain and devastation, how it tortures me inside. Instead they acted pretty removed to the situation and followed the talking cat Luna (Artemis who?) as she led them past where the palace was and where the prayer room used to be. Everything else has fallen apart besides the pedestal that housed this old sword that probably should have rusted apart. It quickly turned into a scene from Disney World. Except this scene didn’t have a cute Duffy bear trying to remove the sword. XD

MOM! Sorry you died but I need to save someone hot. Please help me!

Once the girls removed the sword (with no naked bits or fan service moments Cross Ange) POOF Queen Serenity in pint size form appeared. HELLO THERE QUEEN SERENITY! I see you think highly of yourself as you named your daughter after yourself. It just sounded….odd Queen Serenity saying Serenity’s name like Princess. So formal. Also I am going to push aside the whole idea that there was a computer system on the Moon and it could contain the human will of Queen Serenity like this is Johnny Depp movie. Because folks…they are on the moon without helmets. This is just par for the course. Since Queen Serenity popped up there was a bit more emotion from Usagi’s eyes. But as I texted my friend after watching this episode…the entire trip to the Moon was kinda useless. I mean…the Moon was destroyed 1,000 years ago. That is a bit outdated in terms of information. The Scouts and Usagi had remembered a great deal already and Queen Serenity just put the final pieces together for them (well most it turns out). But since Queen Serenity only sealed the creature away and didn’t kill it herself…..she really doesn’t know how to stop it, where it is, or how to get Mamoru back. She really only guessed why the Crystal lost some of it’s shininess. Like I am going to guess that you are a pure hearted person right now even though I don’t know you.

Well that was a new little tidbit.

Instead of anything useful it was just more of the same with a few new things sprinkled in. For some reason those born on the Moon were gifted with long life which they were to use to help watch and grow the Earth and it’s people. This is actually an important point though as this fact is what helped Queen Metalia turn to the Earth against the Moon. Get the Silver Crystal and you too can live long lives. Despite the Princess and the Scouts always dancing around in flowers and what not it turns out it wasn’t so lushy. It was like Princess Serenity was really named Rapunzel and she wanted to feel the grass and what not. Oh and to check out hottie Endymion. Then the EVIL from ….somewhere came and brainwashed every single person on Earth into attacking the Moon to steal the Silver Crystal. I think that maybe attacking the Moon directly might have been an easier move but I am not EVIL so what do I know. Another detail we got this episode was Endymion died while protecting Princess Serenity from every single person the Earth. Where the heck were the Scouts and Queen at this time? Oh just watching Princess Serenity off herself as she was consumed by grief. X___X Maybe it took time to power up the Silver Crystal. Or as it will probably turn out…Queen Serenity wasn’t supposed to be the one to use the Crystal as she couldn’t use it properly. I mean she could only seal the creature and the side effects were no more Kingdom for you. Sounds pretty dang steep if you ask me. Guess her heart wasn’t pure enough or something. There is no word on what happened to the Scouts during the battle. In the original anime it made a bit more sense on why everyone got sent to Earth. Like everyone was captured or killed and Queen Serenity used the last of her power to send them on purpose to Earth to be reincarnated. In this show I guess we are just to assume that.

Except we all wanted to live on Earth with hot guys.

So yeah…everyone acted shocked at this not new information and the Queen assuming why a piece of the Crystal fell in Mamoru. Since she is a tiny hologram Queen Serenity and Usagi don’t get to hug things out. Instead Queen Serenity tells Usagi to be a Princess and normal girl. I might have freaked out at the idea that I am supposed to stop this EVIL that my older and more capable mother could only seal away. UNDER PRESSURE indeed. Usagi doesn’t ask much about her Mom or even her Dad. Doesn’t really cry when the transmission fails and first Mom is gone forever. She came to get answers and got…a few. Maybe. A good look at what could happen is Usagi doesn’t master this Silver Crystal pretty fast. I think that in reality land anyone would be upset at all this info. But Usagi is more worried about how to get Mamoru back. Can’t cry for you Mom, got a boyfriend to save. Well and Earth. The Scouts and I love Earth now because of the grass and trees and oceans. And since the Moon is a giant mess now…I guess this is home.

While the Scouts and Usagi celebrate their return from Earth Queen Beryl decides to have a suspicious talk with Queen Metalia. And despite Kunzite being all who cares about memories last episode…well he is leading the charge now. I bet he was staring at Mamoru for weeks. SO LOVELY. The rest of the Kings follow his lead looking more and more concerned about why they feel things about this man and why they never noticed this random walkway before or why they never asked to see their great ruler before. Questions folks. Questions are important. Anyway Queen Beryl probably knew the Kings were out there and was putting on a show. Really there was no reason for her to talk to Queen Metalia anyway. Beryl wants to keep Mamoru for her own personal and sexual reasons and no matter what Metalia says she is going to do what she wants. Maybe she was just trying to cover her tracks, like oh maybe I can use him so let me keep him alive? Queen Metalia and her gassy self are like can we speed this along before the Scouts and Princess figure out things. Beryl laughs and mentions for the first time she needs to hurry before the Kings figure out their past. She has never mentioned it before and now that they are standing right there she just happens to mention it? SO SHOCKING! But not as shocking as the Kings getting part of their memories back on the spot. How they were Endyimon’s knights and what not. OH SNAP! We got to get away and save Mamoru and find Sailor Moon and…she’s standing right behind me isn’t she? Beryl and her claws attack the 4 awful King spies and everything is unfair! We weren’t reborn for this. One wonders…..where Beryl came from and where she found the 4 Kings to get them sorta on her side. But as they cry in pain she brainwashes them super good this time. Now they mean business.

EFF YOU ELSA!

Like immediate business. Like time to freeze all of Tokyo and the people in it so Queen Metalia doesn’t have to adjust to the temperature at all. I think they are at the North Pole. So she will be adjusted to everything when she floats on by. Bring Santa too while you are at it. Okay no Santa as my husband is like NO CHRISTMAS YET! But now that the Kings are all brainwashed for a common purpose and aren’t trying to make themselves look good individually they are going to work together and attack the Sailor Scouts. Like I said they should all the time. I am not sure why this battle was so even though. I guess the Scouts could be getting stronger with each battle but Kunzite was able to take on all the Scouts last episode. Like haha let me hold you off and look amazing while doing so. Now everyone is so equal they are fighting one on one. Because Sailor Moon is not supposed to do anything because she has the Silver Crystal. Even if she fought things would go better. 2 on 1 and what not. How will this end?

And you couldn't tell them this...before?

Oh it will end with Minako, keeper of all the secrets ever, letting loose a super secret that probably shouldn’t be a secret anymore. Everyone keeps on getting their memories back. I thought that was what the trip to the Moon was all about. Clearly not. They are going to get their memories back one tiny inch at a time. Except Minako. Who has all the memories and knows why they shouldn’t be fighting at all. You know, how this all slipped her mind until right now. Why wouldn’t Minako tell the others about their prior love lives?! What if one Scout got in a lucky hit and killed the King she was fighting? Sorry guys, should have told you earlier that these are actually our boyfriends in a past life. Not much was actually seen so maybe they were just being the stalkers or everyone just exchanged glances while Serenity and Endymion had a real relationship. Like yeah we like those boys but we got to focus. But whatever, Minako says these are our past boyfriends and instead of being mad at Minako for not telling them the truth they all lose the will to fight because now things are getting ridiculous and sad.

This is literally the worst sweater on the face of the planet and I think everyone owns one.

Oh ridiculous? Usagi doesn’t want to be left out. So she must make some dramatic speech about how they shouldn’t attack girls IN love. Like actively? Okay. Then…she flew into space and unthawed Tokyo. Yes folks she really did that. The space that they needed transformation power to safely maneuver that was already questionable. Now Sailor Moon can just breath in space and fly in space and use an attack to melt and heal everyone in Tokyo because folks. Girls are in love. This fires up the rest of the Scouts to fight back and at the first sign of things being a little difficult….all the Kings flee. Like really? I think I would have liked it better if their memories were trying to return and they left as if to fight it. Not that the Scouts became super strong at that moment. Le sigh. So while the Kings run away Beryl is like…oh yeah. My man Mamoru. Did you notice how the Kings remembered Mamoru and not really the girls? They sorta mentioned it before but only when they were around Mamoru did things click. I guess that would just make the Scouts said on who really loves them. But yes while the Kings are trying to kick butt Beryl has to make Mamoru worth saving or Metalia is going to start questioning her loyalty. It appeared to me that he woke up a blank slate. I think I would have preferred straight up brainwashing with Mamoru trying to fight it and losing. But I guess the end result is still the same: Mamoru returning to Earth in a Sinister sweater with the orders to kill Sailor Moon and get the Crystal back. If Usagi was in denial about Mamoru being a baddie when he was just being Tuxedo Mask…..yeah. I think Luna, the Scouts, and that other random talking cat are going to have their hands full with Usagi flinging herself in the arms of brainwashed evil. Is that stool still available? I think Usagi is going to need it…..

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Crystal episode 9

I just want you to know out there in the anime world when it came to Sailor Moon episodes I usually watch and mostly blogged the entire episode the day it debuted. Wait is that a word? Anyway I would feel guilty about the other episodes I had set aside for Sailor Moon and then...well you know...this happened. YAY ME!

But now that I am almost caught up with everything I can post this episode without feeling guilty. I think anyway. Up now is Sailor Moon cia 2014 episode 9. Spoilers for...not too much happening. Again.

Thanks Liar Face Scout. I remember now.

Episode Summary de Tenchi Style: Mamoru takes a blast from Kunzite that seems to last 5 minutes rather than 5 seconds. During this freefall into Sailor Moon’s lap Mamoru realizes that the Princess he has been looking for all along is Sailor Moon and he is this Endymion person he has dreamed about. He reaches up to touch Usagi…and passes out/dies. All the other Scouts have their shocked faces on as Usagi screams and cries for Mamoru. Suddenly Usagi turns into Princess Serenity as Sailor Venus is just..Sailor Venus. Kunzite waits off to the side as Usagi stares at the broken watch going back in time and she remembers being the moon Princess. Mamoru was Prince Endymion and rules Earth and she fell in love with him despite it being forbidden. Things were okay for about 4 minutes until Queen Metalia told the Earth to rebel and steal the Crystal. This ended with Endymion being slightly stabbed by who will become Queen Beryl. Usagi is upset at the fact that they were reborn to just lose each other and cries her head off. Her tear becomes the Silver Crystal and…it looks like a piece of it enters Mamoru. In the now Queen Metalia and Beryl are like MOG GET THE CRYSTAL! Because you know Kunzite was taking a break from attacking. Minako is like please don’t do this Kunzite!!! He attacks and all the Scouts can do is protect Usagi. Queen Beryl appears and with Kunzite they steal Mamoru and disappear. Usagi scream about a million times for them to give him back. They manage to get Usagi to the arcade hideout as Usagi cries on a strategically place bench. For the THIRD time this episode it is explained (this time to the other Scouts) that Sailor Venus was the decoy and Sailor Moon was the Princess. Everyone served her happily in sparkle land and she fell in love with Endymion the Earth Prince. But then the entire planet of Earth turned against the Moon and Endymion got stabbed. Luna and Artemis were frozen and sent to Earth to aid Usagi when she eventually showed back up. Usagi is like…I want Mamoru back now and passes out. Everyone screams Princess a million times and we get to see what Queen Beryl is doing. She thinks that the Crystal is mostly inside Mamoru now so she is ordering him kept alive. Kunzite is joined by the rest of the Kings who all think Mamoru looks familiar. Kunzite starts to have feelings and pushes them away. Usagi is at home resting which includes having millions of nightmares of Mamoru dying. Luna is in command feeling like she somehow let Usagi down and Artemis cheers her up. Everyone decides they are sad without Usagi so they go and visit their sad friend because clearly that will make them happy. There is a super awkward scene with Usagi glowing like an inch worm thing with her never-ending Princess growing hair. The other Scouts cut and style it back to normal for their Princess and Usagi is like stop with this Princess stuff, I am Usagi. Rei is the first one to agree Usagi should be Usagi. Usagi almost loses her mind at the mention of Mamoru because really was that girl going to cheer up? There is a group hug to comfort Usagi and Luna is like….lets go to the moon. What? Luna decides that all the answers that they are looking for including where the Dark Kingdom are lie at the moon so….yeah everyone decides it is Moon time. Especially Usagi who has her fond memories of the place and is vowing not be a tragic Princess again. But not until next episode. THE END!

WAI FOLKS! Wai indeed! I had the grandest of plans of making this summary only 4 sentences long. That is how it felt to me, this episode. 4 seconds/minutes of new content. So how did I manage to type all of that above? No idea. I am made of crazy and long windedness or something.

Shocked faces for all!

So when we last saw our heroes Kunzite was blasting Sailor Scouts left and right and since Usagi had been flung previously off the tower she wasn’t close to the other girls. She was heading to protect them and Mamoru/Tuxedo Mask was like nope I am going to protect you instead. But since Mamoru is Mamoru and not Daryl Dixon his idea of protection is to take the blast for the girl. To be fair that seems to be a lot of people’s idea for protection as well. Usagi was doing the same thing as well. Personally I rather find a way to hurt the person trying to hurt my friends instead of taking the noble way out. Tuxedo Mask takes the hit and I am going to pretend that he finally remembered who he was as his brain’s dying way of sorting things out. Like oh now I see. All the things that were repressing me and what not have died and my memories are flooding into my brain now, at a useless moment because I am dead and this information might have been better like 5 days ago. Like the kind of death that is so painful you stop feeling pain and enter a dream like state. Only Mamoru was in a memory like state as he reached up to a now heartbroken Sailor Moon.

Kunzite almost killed the Silver Crystal several times over. Actually the whole Dark Kingdom thing...

Kunzite gets an F for bad guying. Or maybe he gets an A. Maybe it is part of bad guy school that you have to allow your enemy/the good guys to have an emotional moment after something happens. Like oh look I have to file my nails. You guys take a moment to cry and regroup. You know, because I am not here to kill you and take home the win or anything. So yeah Usagi got to cry and have her breakdown while everyone looked on. I mean come on the other Scouts and their sudden ability to fly could have fought Kunzite while Usagi had her super sad moment. And dude why was Minako so upset that Tuxedo Mask is hurt? She doesn’t even know him. This is why the original anime is slightly better in that aspect, as there was more time for ALL THE GIRLS to become better friends. But Minako was always last so I guess she still shouldn’t be all OH NO about the situation. She should have been the one to regroup the team better.

The enemy injured one of us? Didn't see that one coming!

So Mamoru got his memories back due to trauma brought on by…you know imminent death. Usagi apparently got her memories back due to trauma brought on by…Mamoru dying in her lap. Like Usagi is known for being a crier that can spark pain and other powers. Maybe I can be a crybaby super hero too since I don’t believe in myself in any other ways. XD But back to the topic at hand. Usagi is screaming and crying and POOF we got some outfit and cosmetic changes. Gone is the crescent moon from Sailor Venus’ head and it goes on Sailor Moon’s. A SHOCKER! Also…Sailor Moon loses her entire uniform and gains a dress. Or as the Sailor Scouts say…her body transforms! She doesn’t change clothes folks, her body changes around the clothes. What does her body change into? Oh I don’t know…the Princess of the Moon Kingdom? Yeah that sounds about right, Sailor Moon being the Moon Princess. And the fact that in Mamoru’s and Usagi’s dream this Princess Serenity looks just like Usagi was missed by both of them. You know… a little too much fog. Anyone could have the same hair gosh!!!!!

I AM SO SHOCKED! Didn't see that coming.

Clearly this show is not about surprises and it couldn’t have been for the audience even if this wasn’t a redo of a 22 year old show. Sometimes Sailor Moon feels very….well for kids despite how mature I think the manga is. Apparently not mature by today’s standards but at the time there was murder and suicide and what not. But then there are other times like where I think this show is geared especially for kids. How could Mamoru and Usagi not question their own obvious dreams. Like we can’t change up anyone’s hair or anything during transformation because how else will the children know?! But yes this is all new to Usagi and it shocks her. All these memories flooded back to her, she being the Princess of the Moon and Mamoru the Prince of Earth. How everything was happy in illegal love land until it wasn’t. So basically Usagi remembered how she lost her love in her previous life just in time to lose him again in this life. I would cry too people.

Only Usagi’s ultimate tears of sorrow (not normal tears) are not just a natural reaction to a horrible situation. No no…maybe Kunzite deserves a medal from both sides. That or Usagi was going to cry out the Silver Crystal anytime after she got her memories back. That was the secret to Sailor Venus’ deception though. The Dark Kingdom might have been accidentally right on trying to get Venus Liar Princess alone if the Princess automatically had the crystal. Of course Kunzite gets his medal taken away now because he was going to KILL Minako instead of making her cry out the crystal so if she had had it….Also there is more medal taking away because Usagi is sitting here crying out the Crystal into her hand and into Mamoru’s dying body with the Scouts quickly moving in to protect Usagi and all the Dark Kingdom can do is kidnap Mamoru? I mean I understand the thinking behind that decision since a piece of the Crystal was just cried into him (in an attempt to keep him alive). But they SEE the object they have been searching for. No doubts, no need for hairbrain schemes. So why not call up ALL THE TROOPS and ALL THEIR MINIONS and get the job done now. Queen Beryl got there instantly, have her transport the other Kings and any mud/clay/stone minions they got laying around and attack all at once. Just BAM all our war. Maybe Beryl might have lost a few troops that way but who cares? She doesn’t? Go all out. Victory is within your grasp. Just….bad guys are stupid.

But Beryl and lone King Kunzite do manage to steal away Mamoru as the rest of the Scouts were too busy protecting Usagi (who was holding Mamoru but details). They leave the crying girl behind despite her holding most of the Crystal in her hand. Because. They take Mamoru back to wherever the Dark Kingdom is hanging out these days and luckily for this dude he has a piece of the Crystal in him. That means he is valuable enough to keep alive. But even then he probably would have been kept alive like a trade. Sailor Moon will want her boyfriend back and returning him one limb at a time might not make this trade happen. So Beryl and Metalia are off going HAHA this is all going according to plan when really they need to be paying attention to the Kings. All the Kings looking at Mamoru like they know him. Something familiar about him. I WONDER WHY. I mean without being spoilery it should be something that Beryl should be aware of. She was the one who stabbed Endymion on the Moon Kingdom. We saw that. So….you know…Beryl needs to be careful. Very careful. For now Kunzite can be in denial and the other Kings can put together Blue’s Clues.

So many new details folks.

While Beryl is gluing Mamoru back together the Scouts get Usagi back to headquarters so their Princess can cry on a random stool in peace. Like there is nothing else in the place with that kind of style. Actually all you see is nothingness and the control panel. Then poof here is some poofy chair. Princesses always need something to throw themselves on and cry. Here in the Scout Land is where we get the THIRD flashback of the episode. To be fair the Scouts weren’t getting these dreams so maybe more of this was a shock to them. It was just a bit much since the audience was being told the whole story all along and in the same episode we get it spoon fed to us for a third time. Like snooze I waited 2 weeks for this? I think I would have liked to see the Scouts asked more questions. I guess there isn’t too much betrayal from Minako since she just joined 2 days ago so her lies were really pointless. Not too much invested in them. I might have asked more about where the Dark Kingdom came from. Like who is behind it and why did they use the Earth to get the Crystal? That might have been a super indirect way. Speaks volumes about their power level. Instead it mainly became about Usagi and Mamoru’s past love and how everyone needs to say the word Princess a million times. That is really going to grate on my nerves. There is a Japanese word for Princess, use it! Usagi of course was not up for any conversation and soon passed herself out because life sucks.

But home doesn't have this random chair. :(

The girls must take Usagi home because she is seen waking up from another nightmare. I say another because…well she says it herself. The enemy has her almost boyfriend/past boyfriend so of course she is going to assume the worse. Not sure what her mother thinks is going on but she has allowed her daughter to stay home from school and have a moment to herself. Usagi has matured in a short amount of time otherwise mom might have assumed Usagi was being sneaky. I am sorta disappointed in Luna not being at the house with Usagi. She is off having her own pout and pity party for some reason. For some reason she seems to think she has let Sailor Moon down? How is that possible? Because she didn’t get her memories back before Minako? She still doesn’t know all that happened. All anyone seems to know (except maybe Minako and Artemis) is the Earth tried to get the Crystal and Endymion died in the process of protecting the Moon and Usagi/Serenity. SO MANY NAMES. They also know that they were successful in sealing the enemy…for a bit but there is more to know. Luna and Artemis got sent to Earth but why would they need to be sent to Earth at all or why is everyone reincarnated? There are a lot of missing puzzle pieces and Luna seems to think her not knowing everything is her fault. Like hmmm how did you let this girl down? If anyone let Usagi down it would be Minako who knew about the other Scouts yet let them grow alone. In any event Artemis and the other Scouts tells Luna to buck up because they are feeling sad without Usagi’s smile so they are going to go visit her now.

Then get back her boyfriend? Because otherwise it is Tears City.

Yeah folks they really said that. I am not sure what crazy world they are living in. Maybe Ami, Makato, and Rei are rusty at having friends but when your happily bubbly friend is down because their boyfriend is maybe dead…you don’t feel bad for yourself because there are no smiles in your life. You need to run and take care of your formerly smiling friend and glue her back together. Like….it sounded insane right? We can’t smile without Usagi around. Well bishes I don’t think going to see Usagi in this state is going to make you smile either. I am guessing she is doing a lot of crying…alone…because you know….she has no friends to support her during this hard time. Can we get some Naru up in here?

I don't even know what this is all about. So creepy.

So the Scouts all showed up after who knows how many days and find Usagi in a state of sadness and hair. That scene was really…..odd with the hair. It didn’t translate well from the manga and Usagi pausing like some crazy glowing statue. Just no. Thankfully the scene moved on pretty fast to Usagi’s tears and everyone handing out hugs because they are super best friends after knowing each other for a month. Plus you know….they knew each other in the now not Moon Kingdom. They can get through this horribleness together. Maybe. Poor Mamoru being kidnapped and all yes? We can get through this because you brought us all together without meaning to and are our dear friend/Princess.

Haven't people been to the moon before? And nothing was there?

Without prompting Luna is like…lets go to the Moon. The girls want to save Mamoru and probably want the missing pieces of the puzzle. So clearly going to a place that no longer exists will unveil those answers. Obviously. Like if they sealed the enemy away so well what the heck happened to this Kingdom and why didn’t the astronauts tell the rest of the planet what they saw? It doesn’t matter though because Luna wants to prove herself to Usagi and take care of her girl. And her girl wants answers and the only place that had the answers is the Moon. So to the Moon they will go. Step aside tragic Princess of five minutes. We are going to hop on a rocket ship and travel at the speed of fast into space. Or you know…hop in their new Sailor Bubble of flyingness and off they will go. Until next time…Moon Pride!

Bishoujo Sailor Moon: Crystal episode 8

Long time no type it seems. X___X I have not fallen off the face of the planet just yet folks. XD Even though it seems like I have. No no I just had the bright idea of watching tons of anime at once and doing each blog post a tiny bit at a time....then I would watch more anime. Clearly this is always made of fail and I continue to do so. XD Oh well.....what can I say?

So we meet again slightly useless Tuxedo Mask.

I guess I shouldn't say anything and get to posting right? Lots to finish up and parts of some posts are on Dated and some are on the actual computer that is able to play anime episodes. So what should be up first? I guess I will start with Bishoujo Sailor Moon: Crystal episode 8. Spoilers for a lot of hero worship and not a lot of details...

We got your back Princess. Unless we don't. But we will try!

Episode Summary: Despite the fact that Zoisite isn’t DEAD all the Sailor Scout, especially Usagi, are like look at that….the legendary Sailor V. Usagi is completely awe struck and everyone else notices her costume is different. Sailor V (Venus) makes a great show of putting her mask back on which probably confuses Usagi even more. Her white talking cat Artemis is like um ya’ll need to show some respect, this is really Princess Serenity of the Moon Kingdom in disguise. Usagi’s tiara changes shape and she nearly remembers something important but brushes it aside. Zoisite wakes up and runs away as he is outnumbered. Tuxedo Mask also runs away because he is upset he couldn’t protect Usagi and this Sailor V is proclaiming to be Princess Serenity. Sailor Venus jumps down and is happy to see everyone even if they don’t know her. She has been instructing them over the game for so long she feels as if she knows them well. Luna contacts everyone over the communicators and Sailor Venus says they will meet at headquarters soon. She untransforms which also impresses the other Scouts (they are easily impressed this episode) and explains her secret identity on Earth is Minako. Minako leads the way to the arcade where Luna is falling over herself for not greeting the Princess on the battlefield. Minako is busy taking in all the memories of headquarters like she hasn’t been there in forever. Minako then explains a whole lot of nothing. She awaken first with Artemis as her teacher to being a Sailor Scout. She battles around Tokyo with what she thought were just baddies until she uncovered a darker force at work…The Dark Kingdom. Apparently a long time ago on the Moon this Dark Kingdom came and kicked the Moon Kingdom’s butt. This evil was sealed away but now someone has come along and woken the evil up. They need the Silver Crystal and apparently they need human energy to build up it’s strength. No one mentions that they already know all that business and ask where the Crystal really is. Minako hesitates and says she will keep that a secret for a little while longer. Minako seems sure everyone will regain their memories soon and the rest of the Scouts are like whatever you say amazing Princess girl you. As they leave for the night Artemis is giving Minako side eye, implying she should have told them everything. Minako says they will know the truth soon and she needs to carry out her individual mission until then.

I wonder if something is up?! Could it be?!

Usagi has a dream some time later, really a nightmare. She is being pulled through an angry crowd by someone with a sword. He is fighting the baddies but they get separated. She calls him Endymion and he was calling her Princess Serenity. She wakes up and decides she had this dream because she met the Princess the other day and it means nothing. Luna and Usagi got for a walk so Usagi can think about how she thinks the Princess is keeping things from them. She sees Mamoru studying about crystals on a park bench. He basically apologizes for not being able to protect her. Usagi wasn’t even thinking about that. She was thinking about how to get the Princess to show her the Crystal so she could show Mamoru so he could get his memories back. She tries to return the pocket watch but Mamoru is like I have something of yours, lets trade next time. Luna walks away dejected at the idea that Usagi might be in love with someone slightly untrustworthy. Artemis walks up and says that Luna is doing a great job and soon she will remember her past life as well. Meanwhile Queen Beryl is talking to Queen Metalia about how Princess Serenity has come to kick their butts again. They decide they are going to beat her until she gives up the location of the Silver Crystal. Kunzite volunteers for this mission as the rest of the Kings are in the clinic still resting from their injuries. Minako is shown walking around the city when suddenly everything and everyone is frozen but her. She hears Kunzite telling her to come to Tokyo Tower alone or he will kill everyone in the city. Artemis is like tell the others but Minako is like no I will go alone. Everything is unfrozen and she starts to make her way to the tower when all the other Scouts appear. They claim to have been on their way to see her (?) because Makoto is making them all dinner. Minako makes an excuse and runs off. Not ten seconds later Tokyo Tower loses power and so does the rest of the city. Minako morphs and makes her way to the tower were Kunzite is being all give the Crystal or else. The rest of the girls have started to find people with their energy sucked out and they realize this just isn’t a power outage. Elsewhere Mamoru wakes up from a Princess Serenity induced dream and realizes that there is danger all over the place. Minako AKA Sailor Venus fights Kunzite but he is still way more powerful than her. She begs him to remember his real self which causes him to pause for a moment. Before Minako is toast the other girls arrive. They are like we are sailor Scouts and we are here to protect you Princess. We were all alone until Sailor Moon brought us together. Now we are unstoppable. They fight against Kunzite together and appear to win. Then Kunzite is like…no really you suck. The other 4 Scouts are safe but Sailor Moon gets flung off the tower. Before she goes splat Tuxedo Mask saves her. She is beyond touched about this but sucks her tears and tells him to run from the enemy and she will handle this. She jumps back into battle after kissing him and Tuxedo Mask is in awe of how strong she is today and how she has many sides of her personality. He sees that she is going to protect the other girls from Kunzite’s blast so he flings himself in front of her and takes the blast himself. THE END!

Excuse me. Focusing on my new tiara is a very important use of time!

I am pretty sure this episode was 23 minutes long. By my calculations (TC or CC for those of you at home) there was about 6 minutes worth of new material. My math is very precise. You know…guessing and making things totally up. But yeah folks….this was totally…..a lot of wasted time. Which happens in mangas all the time. 28 pages a chapter and 4 of them are devoted to talking about the characters each time. Like look here is Ami and her smart self. And there is Rei being all Rei like with mysterious self. Only now we get 28 pages of manga/anime content and 47839473 of them are devoted to saying the same thing over and over again.

Now is the time to strike Dark Kingdom!

If the Dark Kingdom had any brains they would be working in teams. But that is the point though, that the good guys are good because they believe in friendship and team work. The baddies only think of themselves. Well even if I was a baddie I would be like err I want to stay alive so how about we all work together since these 14 year old punks keep getting the best of us. Queen Beryl could send us all at once and pound them into dust. Instead the Dark Kingdom likes to fail because failure builds character. It would be a quick show if we all died at once right? Or if we won at once. So Zoisite will just pass out on the ground all hurt and broken while everyone else does stupid things that lessen their own chance of survival.

Not only are people supposed to see up a building but they are supposed to know this random girl is the Moon Princess. I see. Not really though.

I wear glasses. I notice Ami wears glasses too. None of this matters in anime as everyone has 200/20 vision. I am going to assume that means super eyesight. I would have just saw some orange girl on top of a roof. But no Usagi is seeing crescent moons on foreheads and going on and on that Sailor V is really Sailor Venus in a different costume. Which by the way folks was never talked about. All the girls have pens to transform with and Sailor V has a different costume than Sailor Venus. Did she change in a phone booth or something? Was there a point in having a different costume since no one at the time knew what a Sailor Scout was and by the time these girls came Scouts they should automatically assume this Sailor V who talks to them via video games and has similar style of dress is one of them? Why the super unnecessary mask as no one else knows who the rest of the Sailor Scouts are and they have no masks. All of this gasping and looking beyond amazed that a new Sailor Scout has appeared and it is the super famous girl from the newspaper left everyone…a little useless. So they should better thank their lucky stars the Dark Kingdom isn’t on the ball about things. I do not like Artemis’s voice. While I hate American Dubbing on principal I rather liked Artemis’s voice before. Now I think his Japanese voice doesn’t fit his character at all. Just…no bueno at all. It probably didn’t help that the first thing he did made me want to smack him in the head regardless of how he sounded. Like you all better recognize who you are dealing with. Sailor V? Please. See this moon on her forehead? She is PRINCESS Serenity. Good thing you are already on your knees because some bows are in order. Like chill dude. We just met your white cat self and if we assumed everyone with a moon on them or in their name was the Moon Princess well Luna and Usagi would be in that category too. I guess Artemis could have been the Moon Prince if he wanted to be. But yeah. Sailor V is really Sailor Venus who is Princess Serenity in disguise. Even if one didn’t know how things were going to play out this would be questionable at best.

You could....keep trying? I promise you probably could do it.

But yes all the girls are star struck. Zoisite got a tiny boo boo on his leg or something and needed to leave. He was out numbered but so far all the Kings have better powers even with the Scouts combine so….he probably could have kicked some ass. Which he didn’t decide to do. Like I am going to kill you while all you are distracted by a new girl with long blond hair in a Sailor Suit. Like hello slap the title Princess on someone and suddenly they are 15 times more attractive. That is how everyone was acting too. Maybe Zoisite left to get away from the insanity of all the wonderment. Like yeah we have seen Sailor Scouts before. In any case I hope that Minako (you know, her super secret Earth name as the Moon Kingdom properly doesn’t exist anymore because we went to the moon…) is more like her manga counterpart rather than her late anime persona. She started off serious business and the…leader as it were but in later seasons Usagi was way more mature than her. I know that saving the world at such a young age could make you want to revolt and do childish things but it was such a turnaround. Not good.

Got anymore details than that? Because yeah..it might repeat if we have no idea what is going on....

So after all the MOG Princess comments filled my soul it was onward to the arcade. Minako sorta acted…odd. Like no one ever questioned why Luna kept Sailor V from them or why when the other Scouts started to awaken Minako didn’t show up. Like if you is the Princess don’t you need some protection? No? Okay. Also Minako implied that they are going to be getting their memories back soon and that Luna had her memories extra sealed on purpose. Now wouldn’t they be able to function better if they knew the truth from the get go? Sure it might super sad all at once but at least they know what was at stake and what they were fighting for yes? So none of those questions were asked and all Minako talked about with the other Scouts was the same crap they have heard the entire series. Crystal, Dark Kingdom, sadness. Surely Minako was getting a lot done when she was working alone. None of the girls seem to mind the lack of details or Minako’s decision not to show them the crystal they have been looking long and hard for. Instead it was more YAY Princess stuff. Minako smiled through it all but Artemis and her quickly turned those smiles upside down as things are getting serious.

My what a wonderful and repeating dream you keep having.....

Speaking of serious…I might have glossed over Tuxedo Mask having a moment. See he was unable to protect Usagi when Zoisite was being all Zoisite like. He ran off all mad like it was his fault. Like hello dude you already had a pout about the fact that you have no powers. We get it. You are doing the best you can. These girls with powers are having a hard enough time to protect themselves. I think when the girls transform for the first time they are super powered which is why they come in guns blazing. Then after that initial use of power after a long time of dormancy they go back down to normal levels. Whatever the case may be Mamoru is all sad thinking he let his girlfriend down. Now that Usagi knows who he is I guess she could have visited the boy afterwards but…that is hard to do. It is better to go home and have weird dreams about someone who looks like Mamoru and someone that looks like her but that person is being referred to as Serenity. HMMMMMMMM what could be going on here folks? It is clear to everyone experiencing it. Because masks folks. And when you transform you look different. So obviously Usagi is just having weird dreams okay.

Embrace that feeling. Ask questions!

Usagi….might have some brains. While she was all WOOHOO Princess the other day now she is thinking that maybe Minako is hiding things from her. Maybe it was the obvious facial expressions or the fact that Minako isn’t coughing up the crystal now. Like HMMMM why did you wait so long to come join us? You could have trained us better and what if we had DIED waiting for you? So yeah Usagi is pretty smart. She runs into Mamoru and of course it is flowerly and romantic time. She doesn’t really acknowledge his pity party self about not being able to protect her and instead focuses on wanting to help him out by asking Minako for the crystal. I do want to know at what point did Luna find out that Mamoru knows who Usagi is and that Usagi found out who Mamoru was? I know everyone runs around and says people’s names while transformed but I didn’t see any scene where Luna got UPSET about this. Like hello don’t you suspect him still for being a baddie? She was a little…sad this episode but not what I would qualify as SUPER WORRIED about everything. Of course Artemis and his crappy voice comes by to tell Luna she is doing a great job and oh by the way her memories were sealed on purpose for her own good. Why such a control freak Artemis?

Make sure you send me alone so I will have minimum amount of success.

Instead of waiting for the enemy to poof away Minako told Zoisite that she was the Princess of the Moon Kingdom. Because that was smart. So now Queen Metalia who looks pretty gaseous and not metal like at all is like HMMMM this girl must know where the Silver Crystal is since…it’s hers and while we kicked their butts last time someone DID seal me away with what we assume is said Silver Crystal. Instead of running around jewelry stores and having random humans search their closets we could just send the Kings out to do mean things to humans and capture said Sailor Venus/Moon Princess when she comes in to save the day. I mean…I think they can conquer Earth without the crystal and if they destroy the person who has the crystal no one has it right? Sounds like a plan. Now we will wait until all the Kings are feeling better and we will set up a massive plan that will involve killing the other four Scouts and capturing Sailor Venus. Maybe leaving one Scout alive so Venus will spill the beans. Or…or…Kunzite will be sent alone because clearly he needs time to shine alone yes? Let my flowing locks get the crystal for her gaseousness. Yeah going alone sounds like a better idea, since it has worked out so well for everyone else.

Wait how is he doing this?!

5 seconds later it seems Kunzite is ready for his plan. And dude he didn’t even draw out Minako. No no he just…talks to Minako directly in her head. I wonder if there was more to that though. Like he froze everyone in the town and his magical talking waves would only affect Minako. If he knew who Minako was I guess he could have gone to her house and kidnapped her. This secret identity stuff is hard folks. Anyway he is all like bring the Silver Crystal to Tokyo Tower or I will kill everyone in the city. Poor Tokyo Tower is going to be all beat up. Good thing they have the Sky Tree now to keep things going in the city. Minako is told to go alone because maybe Kunzite marathoned some of the episodes and realized he could actually take on one of the girls and live. This probably wouldn’t have been such a big deal, well not right away anyway if Minako hadn’t run into all the other Scouts who apparently were going to her house right that minute to pick her up for dinner. So they all know where she lives? I wonder why they hadn’t been seen hanging out with their beloved Princess then? Perhaps this is where a few filler episodes would have helped out. Anyway Minako blows them off rather fast and starts to make her way to Tokyo Tower to die at the hands of Kunzite.

Wait finish the sentence!

That probably would have happened if Kunzite hadn’t gotten so greedy. Trying to get the Crystal and human energy at the same time. Because Minako only got about 5 feet before the other Scouts realized there were passed out people everywhere and hello there is a massive power outrage and the enemy loves to take over Tokyo Tower. Had he just cooled his jets he would have been able to take Minako and…I guess use her as bait as well? For the other Scouts? Torture a few of the girls until Sailor Venus gave up the goods. Now he has to deal with all the Scouts and Mamoru who has woken up from another Princess Serenity laced dream coming for him. Better pull that hair back in a ponytail, wouldn’t want to mess up your lovely locks all messed up. 

Minako doesn’t really do that great against Kunzite on her own. I don’t really think her heart was in the battle either. She seems to have all her memories from her precious life and doesn’t want to fight against Kunzite. HMMMMMM and he seems to take a minute to think about this too before being ordered to take her out. If I math correctly every single King has had a moment with every single Scout, like they KNOW them from somewhere else. I WONDER WHAT THAT COULD BE! But for now Kunzite is going to battle. Before Minako is taken out all the other Scouts FLY (yes fly) up to the tower to save their beloved Princess. Kunzite lets them have their moment too, like we love you Princess and you don’t have to go it alone anymore. We are here to protect you so let us show off our skills and beat Kunzite for you. Because we are the best team that ever existed.

Okay maybe not so useless after all.

Or Kunzite is like are you for real, your powers are pretty lame and attacks everyone. The other Sailor Scouts use some new power that allows them to float (and FLY) in the air. In the manga and this show the Scouts randomly get new powers while fighting whereas the original anime everyone usually had one attack per season. And there was no flying. Usagi was not part of this fly circle and was falling headlong into the ground below. Whatever will happen to her? Oh Tuxedo Mask will show up and save her? He is good at catching girls you know. Usagi wants Tuxedo Mask to show up and save her but then she always realizes he will be in danger. And this time folks..she wants to protect him. This is her mission and he is precious to her so he needs to leave while she handles this. Then poof a kiss and jump she is off to save the day. Instead of losing some of his man pride Mamoru is very touched and..moved at how many sides to Usagi there really are. She has grown up a lot since the series still started. But no matter how much she cares and tries for her friends….she still hasn’t gathered enough power to stop Kunzite. So she was jumping up the tower to protect everyone and it wasn’t going to end well for her and everyone knew it. So Mamoru was like NO I am not going to let you protect me, I am going to protect you…and threw himself in front of the blast. X___X What a dramatic way to end an episode. No really I mean that…because of the long gap in episodes. Curse you Sailor Moon! How dare you make me wait…of course I can’t really complain about things being late can I….So I will be patient. If I have to anyway…until next time!

Bishoujo Sailor Moon: Crystal episode 7

So last week before I went to Disney I realized that once again I had reached the bandwitch on my photo uploading site of choice. I used to alternate between two accounts but once the first one got fullish I got a bit lazy and concentrated only on the second one hopping things would be fine. Oppies. So I was like okay I will set an account up for my cat. Only...I came back, used it once, and properly forgot all the info. It didn't dawn on me until hours later I could HIT the pictures I posted once here and it would take me to said account name. Because I am slow folks. 30 and unable to use technology at all it seems.

Everyone in this anime hates secrets.

So yeah folks...now that this has been taken care of hopefully there won't be angry empty spots where there should be pictures. Onward to posting more anime. Up now is Sailor Moon Crystal episode 7. Spoilers for Mamoru having feelings all over the place.

Episode Summary: Usagi realizes she is Mamoru’s room and given the last thing she can remember (passing out near Tuxedo Mask after using her new attack) he must be Tuxedo Mask. Usagi and her very ungraceful looking feet walk over to Mamoru and put his Mask up to his face and wonders how she didn’t know the two were the same beforehand. She asks why he becomes Tuxedo Mask and he answers with some crazy story. He was turning 6 and during a birthday drive around the city Mamoru’s parents drove off a cliff and died. He woke up with no memories at all but has continuous dreams about a Princess asking for the Silver Crystal. He says he has to find it to find out who he really is. Usagi feels so bad for Mamoru having to go this alone all along. When asked Usagi is like um I am looking for the Silver Crystal because Luna told me to? They decide to keep this a secret, knowing who they are, from others. Usagi is torn though but understands the others don’t trust Mamoru and it is for the best. Usagi wants to get closer to Mamoru but tries leaving instead as to not get involved. Mamoru attempts to hug her and call her by a nickname, then cover up the intimate moment by handing her her bag. She thinks about the nickname on the way home and gives him one as well. After not one person questions where the heck Usagi was for about 18 hours life goes on. Luna had been in the arcade communicating with Sailor V about how Sailor Moon needs to become a better leader and the enemy has appeared and blah blah. Queen Beryl has gone to give energy to their great leader Queen Metalia who seems to be just a giant floating smoke cloud. The energy given is not enough for this leader and she demands the Crystal. If the ones who defeated her before (the scouts) have it and have given it to the Moon Princess all is doomed. Queen Beryl is like we are on it, leave it to me. But when she leaves the room Queen Beryl has a different mindset. Apparently she found Queen Metalia and accidentally unlocked her a long time ago and now she thinks the giant blob of smoke is just going to destroy everything on Earth and that won’t be fun. Queen Beryl rather find the crystal and rule the world herself. She summons Zoisite and is like get to work, you ain’t that injured.

5 seconds later we see Naru and all of Usagi’s other friends at a DVD rental store that is new and has all the best things it town. What to rent first indeed! Rei walks by this store and notices some people acting odd and the store is named DARK. Like seriously. At school the next day Usagi is busy eating all of Makoto’s food while Ami researches who Sailor V is. Luna starts to make excuses while Usagi is like she must be related to the moon people since she has a moon on her head. Their lunch is interrupted by the most creepy looking Umino who is looking for Sailor Moon because. Then Usagi gets food on her face and this leads to handkerchief talk and Usagi thinking about Mamoru and his Tuxedo Mask self. Mamoru is also at his school thinking about Usagi. After school Usagi actually wants to spend time with Naru but she is acting weird as Luna points out the obvious. Turns out every kid in class is brainwashed and wants to find Sailor Moon. It is because of the Dark rental discs. Ami promises to check this out while she sends Usagi to…run around the city and look worried? But not before they try the disc at the arcade and Sailor V talks to Usagi. Mamoru was riding the bus home thinking about how he was dumb to tell Usagi his life story when everyone on board loses their minds too in wanting to find Sailor Moon. The streets are filled with people looking for Sailor moon by breaking glass windows. Zoisite is seen doing his brainwashing thing and it almost gets Ami as she watches the whole video. The other girls report that everyone is insane and that Sailor Moon will probably be in danger. They transform and go after her. Usagi sees all these people brainwashed and feels bad for them. She transforms and uses her new wand to heal them. That reveals her location and Zoisite appears, knocking the wand from her hand. He holds Usagi hostage and demands to know where the Silver Crystal is. The other Scouts show up and attack. Zoisite seems pretty powerful and flattens them easily. Then Tuxedo Mask PUNCHES Zoisite and gets Sailor Moon free temporarily. She is happy he came to save her and proceeds to tell Zoisite that Tuxedo Mask needs to the Silver Crystal more. Tuxedo Mask turns into Flynn Rider and is all that was my old dream but now my new dream is being with you. Zoisite is like um okay and captures Usagi again. Before he can kill Sailor Moon or Mamoru something hits him. Up on a building top it’s…Sailor V! Usagi is convinced the moon mark means something and THE END!

A punch in the face is mightier than...magical powers.

Dang it’s Sailor Moon time already? I feel as if I just finished episode 6 a few minutes ago, not two weeks ago. Is that a sign of how much of a slacker I have been? Probably. Go me. But you know who hasn’t been a slacker? The people animating this episode. I didn’t see any derp moments this time around. The lips are a bit big at times, as if they have to copy it exactly from the manga and it doesn’t translate well at times. But I think this episode was pretty well done minus the non face background characters that don’t matter much anyway.

How can the obvious answer be true?!

We start this episode off with Usagi and Mamoru realizing who they really are. Their not so secret identities have been revealed. Given the fact that Luna has been screaming Usagi’s name all over town and Usagi dropped her handkerchief with her full name on it I am surprised more people don’t know who Sailor Moon is. In the manga more people actually do know who the Sailor Scouts are (some who make things more plausible anyway) so…you know. Things being a secret is just a suggestion, not a rule. Usagi on the other hand is lucky to have her shoes tied in the morning. Failing a math test is a good day for her. To actually realize Mamoru and Tuxedo Mask are the same person was too much for her…and apparently all her friends. At least Ami and Makoto. I don’t know if Rei saw Mamoru? But hommie was walking around IN a Tuxedo and I think his little clippy thing was the same. Oh and they look exactly the same Superman fans. So Usagi being all shocked and not realizing this before is special. Of course it is a bit more special there are dreams with people that look familiar….

In each version of Sailor Moon all the kings have different relationships too. No romance between Kunzite and Zoisite this time around?

Usagi and Mamoru have a much better relationship in the manga than the anime. Of course in the original anime they knew each for longer so the romantic feelings might feel a bit more realistic? Maybe. Since Mamoru and Rei “dated” it might make less sense though. But in the manga and this anime Mamoru and Usagi have more blushy faces and less confrontation. So Usagi isn’t all upset or angry that the man of her dreams and the dude who has been teasing her are the same person. It is more like….look at all that I missed, the face behind the mask and kind eyes. How did I not know? Quick break out into a Disney Princess song. I guess this point is moot since neither of them recognize that they are having dreams, the same dreams, about themselves. I mean the other person is there too but they are the person they are dreaming about. I hope that wasn’t spoilery…On a different note I have a 22 year old friend who had never heard of Sailor Moon before she met me. She is lucky I talk to her. XD Of course she tells me things all the time and I am like…listen here young whipper snapper, back in my day we recorded songs we heard on the radio. We didn’t have the internets to steal music from.

After they stare at each other for a bit and let the realization roll over them (not that Usagi ever showed signs of being worried that Mamoru knows who the other Scouts are by process of elimination) Usagi asks why Mamoru becomes Tuxedo Mask. Not how though. I thought he transformed with a rose. Maybe that was just in the original anime? Because it is implied now he does change his clothes at his house or nearby phone booth as his mask and hat are on the chair and he already owns the suit. Makes sense since he isn’t a real superhero. Mamoru tries telling Usagi about his backstory of sadness in order for things to make sense. Perhaps I am evil but I thought his sad backstory made less sense than usual. First off he says he has no memories after the car crash but we the audience are shown the day of the crash, as if he remembers it. Second…he was 6. It wasn’t like there was much to remember anyway. I know he has no memory of his parents but this whole am I really Mamoru thing is a bit dramatic. I don’t remember much from before I was 6 either. Of course SPOILER ALERT he is right but it still doesn’t take away from the dramas. Mamoru tells Usagi about this sadness and how he has had these dreams recently about someone asking for the Silver Crystal. He seems to have put 2 and apple pie together thinking that this will help him discover who he is. Of course SPOILER ALERT he is right but it still doesn’t mean it is convoluted.

Well that was rather fast...

Usagi doesn’t mention to Mamoru at all that she has the same dream too. Which is a bit special since this could help them figure things out. Instead she is focusing on his sad eyes and how lonely he must be. She is a sweet girl with a heart of goal, not some master mind that sees where she needs to go strategy why. Like I am a girl thus I feel the urge to hug anyone who is in pain, especially if they are a cute guy looking at me like that. After his confession I think she felt very self conscious too. Like errr I am looking for the Silver Crystal because Luna my talking cat told me too….yeah sounds pretty lame to me too. Usagi felt the awkwardness and tried to hightail it out of there as quickly as possible. Not quick enough though as Mamoru needed a sorta hug. Look at me, I am acting like you are leaving forever so I need to get in my affection before you are gone forever. Also I am going to give you a nickname, something that is VERY special in Japan. You know, because we have such a close bond with our secret keeping and what not. It is surprising that he was the one to take the first step as well. Let your emotions fly Mamoru.

Every baddie is beyond lazy. ALL OF THEM! Get on the ground and look for the thing yourself.

Usagi was gone for a while. Or at least I think she was because as we saw in the last episode day and night look the exact same or something. Instead of looking for her scout leader Luna was talking to Sailor V and being all mysterious. Like hello you are a scout too and are the one giving Luna all this info? Why not come here and help yourself? Unless they are looking for the Silver Crystal somewhere else that isn’t one place in Japan. Then I can understand that. But yeah that is what Luna is doing. Queen Beryl is busy in her Dark Kingdom feeding the lion I mean Queen Metalia. How can they both be queens at the same time? Are they both fabulous? I don’t think you can be fabulous when you are a giant ball of gas but whatever. Anyway Metalia hops on the bring me more energy and the Silver Crystal bandwagon without giving any information. JUST DO IT! So maybe Queen Beryl is taking it out on the Kings because she gets treated like crap. Because it turns out Queen Beryl is not GO DARK KINGDOM all the way. It might be an accident. Like I was exploring some creepy looking caves and suddenly I am forced to serve this giant ball of energy who wants to destroy everything on the planet. Maybe the planet itself. Queen Beryl is down for being bad but it is hard to be bad when there is nothing to be bad over. Maybe not a big deal for a giant ball of gas but for someone who has a physical body…a deal. So Queen Beryl is all for getting the Crystal but…might keep it for herself. For now she has to keep up appearances. That means to tell Zoisite to put a Bandaid on his owies and find the Crystal NOW! That is how you delegate folks.

And not named Crystal so it must be safe.

Zoisite must be running out of ideas or Queen Beryl is the one picking the generic names/plots. Because this seems awfully familiar, like we already did this in episode 2. But in that episode they were just gathering energy on top of the brainwashing. This time Zoisite is going to start up a DVD RENTAL store to get everyone to find and capture Sailor Moon. Look there folks! The word crystal wasn’t in the title of the store. Surely this will go unnoticed by all and they can get away with it this time. Or you know…it’s a rental store for DVDs and that is still horribly outdated so it is suspicious to me. We have a driveby Naru-ing who is with her other friends along with the rest of the town renting these DVDs. We also have a driveby Rei-ing. Like hmmmm this new store is called DARK and not CRYSTAL. Should I still suspect something evil is going on here? My Spidey powers are tingling.

Too creepy for words!

Rei doesn’t tell the others about her run in with a new shop that is probably evil. So they spend lunch time at school having fun. Look at me, I am Makoto and I make lunches for all. While the original anime was full of tons of fillers I think that it did a better job in showing how close the girls got. A bit more bonding time. So yeah it does seem that Makoto hasn’t gotten enough air time for my liking. But they all seem close. Enough time must have passed anyway for everyone to freak out over a creepy looking Umino. Like Umino is usually weird with his random pieces of super important knowledge. But Ami and Makoto have been around long enough to know this was unusual behavior even for this kid. Must bring Sailor Moon to the master. Master loves Sailor Moon yes yes, it’s alive!!!! Yeah Umino…..just crawl back under the rock you crawled from because we have a happy lunch to eat. Well Ami has to research Sailor V because Usagi seems thinks she is a Sailor Scout too. OH YOU THINK?! Where is this girl and why isn’t she helping? Usagi also takes the time to think about Mamoru/Tuxedo Mask because in her pocket is his watch not her handkerchief. I like how Usagi thinks her friends will be confused about his real identity and not upset/protective of her. Oh Usagi and her pure heart. Mamoru is off being alone on his school roof because he is an orphan and we need more feels from him. So close yet so far away.

Because everyone went to the same store on the same night and all had time to watch the brainwashing DVDs.

It doesn’t take too long for things to take affect via Zoisite and his amazing brainwashing DVDs. I feel bad for Naru. Everything bad keeps happening to her. Not as many times as the original show but still enough to be eyerolling. It is almost like the baddies KNOW who Sailor Moon is and is targeting her old best friend. So the one day Usagi actually wants to spend time her pal and she has to be brainwashed. Every single person in the classroom was brainwashed which is eyerolly. Especially since they chose to be shown brainwashed exactly at the same time. School is over, we are brainwashed. I like how this has to be spoonfed to us, with everyone having their DARK DVD with them. Because folks that is what I do, bring DVDs to school to show everyone I am brainwashed. And yes everyone in town is brainwashed, all at the same time. As if they all went to the store together, watched the video the night before, and it all got activated at once. Including the bus driver on the bus Mamoru is on.

Looks like the communicators work just fine.

I like how everything has to be investigated by Ami at the arcade now. Or that it has to take place somewhere other than where everyone else is. Like we got laptops now crazy girl. Also maybe you shouldn’t be watching this video if everyone is acting weird. Ya’ll know who made the DVD and where it came from, I am not sure what needed to be seen you know? But this had to take place at the arcade so Sailor V the avatar could tell Sailor Moon she could do it. I am not sure why Usagi just didn’t WAIT in the arcade for the rest of the Scouts, especially since they heard them talking about capturing Sailor Moon. That might have been a sign folks…Instead she runs off alone while the other girls realize she is the target so they transform and try to find the girl.

I Zoisite of the European branch are overwhelmed by your stupidity.

Usagi doesn’t get the message that it was super dangerous outside. Everyone wants her but they are hurt and brainwashed. Of course she has to help them by transforming and giving away her location. The childrens. More like her friends but whatever. Zoisite is no joke though. He was like BAM on that. He ain’t no punk like the other two Kings. And he isn’t even in charge folks. Can’t wait t o see Kunzite in action. But yeah Zoisite manages to capture Sailor Moon who doesn’t put up much of a fight. Maybe she is tired after healing all those people but you know. The other Sailor Scouts showed up and did their attacks (which I like better than their always the same standard pose attacks) but Zoisite was like bitches please, I am fabulous. He took care of them real quick and kept on demanding to know where the Silver Crystal is. Because the Dark Kingdom was under the impression the scouts have it. Because you know..if they did have it they certainly wouldn’t use it to instantly win against the Dark Kingdom or anything. I think the Dark Kingdom should have just assumed the scouts didn’t have it and taken them out…then continued their WHERE IS THE CRYSTAL search.

You were my new dream.

Instead Zoisite gets punched in the face. He is able to fight off the Sailor Scouts with their magical powers but Tuxedo Mask comes and punches him in the face. Is this real life? I like how Zoisite lets Tuxedo Mask and Usagi have a moment. Like oh okay you are talking, I will sit here and not attack so you can have your moment. Usagi is under the impression since Mamoru is a sad, lonely person his quest to find the Silver Crystal is an important one and Zoisite and the meany Dark Kingdom need to not use entertainment to brainwash everyone. I mean…look at his sad face. Mamoru has to get in on the action. Like I wanted to find the Crystal and find out who I really am. But now that we have been rebooted and I have seen Tangled I understand there are better dreams. I have seen the light. You are my new dream because of the 30 minutes we have spent together have touched me.

In a slightly different costume I see.....

Zoisite hates dreams and Disney so he recaptures Usagi and threatens to kill them both. He takes the time to mess with their heads though, like HAHA which shall I kill first because that is what true villains do. This delay almost costs him his life though. Because even though Sailor Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter didn’t do much damage…make way for Sailor V. She is throwing things and saving Sailor Moon like it’s her job. I like how Usagi has the eyesight of some amazing kind of bird to see all the way from the roof top that Sailor V has the moon on her forehead. But since they have seen it before I guess she just knows it is there. But yeah while Zoisite is licking his wounds Usagi is grateful to be alive while wondering what is going on. And we will find out what is going on…in two weeks. Pity since it doesn’t look good for Mamoru does it?
