Glasslip episode 4

 photo glasslipepisode411_zpsc4311c38.jpg
I am going to walk in the woods the entire episode while drama happens in town.
Post number 7 ya'll!!! I would celebrate with chips but we have none. We have apples and yogurt but no chips. And the husband hates popcorn. Woe is my life folks woe is my life. Probably not so much since I already had some ice cream earlier but you know...I live to eat snakes. While I try to think about others things besides yummy food have more anime. Up now is Glasslip episode 4. Spoilers for so much scene bouncing and soap opera happenings.

This conversation was so weird between Kakeru and his dad I don't really understand it...
Episode Summary: This episode was literally all over the place so forgive this summary when it becomes super jumpy and yes most of this happens in the span of 24 hours. Kakeru's dad goes to the backyard and checks on his son who was camping back there. Yes folks camping. They go inside and make some nasty looking meat and other things for breakfast. The dad starts to talk about how he is a bad dad or how being a dad is hard. Something about kids and what not. Kakeru brings up how Dad is always listening to his Mother's....whatever song in the house. This seems to embarrass Dad. None of this means anything except I think Mom is dead. Kakeru hears something about the future but it is super vague. Maybe his trigger is music. Touko and Sachi are on the phone as Touko is scared of Sachi going back to the hospital. She clearly thinks Sachi will be the one to be hospitalized. Sachi and her vague self doesn't make super clear but eventually says that Yanagi hurt her leg during dance class and is at the hospital. It turns out that she sprained it and is already being released. Touko runs to the hospital but sees Yuki helping Yanagi walk and runs out, not wanting to ruin the moment. Touko is a big embarrassed but Yuki still sees himself as a brother and teases her, calling her heavy and what not. By some magical miracle Hiro's sister is in the area and I assume takes them home. This when I think a day or two passes but who knows. Sachi calls and checks in with Yanagi. Yanagi seems to be doing better and the girls promise to meet up soon. Sachi realizes that Hiro is at her house to return her book and flirt with her because he is adorable. Touko is making glass with her dad at the house and has the sparkle visions again. She is shocked that this has been the future all along and is worried she is going to see a bad future one day. Her dad tries to make her focus on the task at hand so she won't be hurt. Touko then dons her school uniform and grandma hat to take a little trip. She calls up Yanagi who is mending from her sprain and eating yogurt as a treat. Touko calls her and they agree to meet up. Sachi serves Hiro some sort of drink in her room and it is all quiet and blushy. They eventually read books together and it is quiet and boring. Hiro eventually looks up the book Sachi likes and TADA the book has been made into a movie and it is playing NOW. They make plans to see it soon. Sachi smiles a lot while Hiro is all blushy.
 photo glasslipepisode49_zps0d6e1aac.jpg
Meanwhile Hiro and Sachi's relationship is growing very, very, very slowly.
Touko meets up with Yanagi who is really....hobbling down the road. They sit near the docks and talk about Kakeru and if Touko thinks he is cute. They agree he is self centered because of the 5 seconds they have spent with him. They then talk about Yuki and how Touko is sorry this all happened. Yanagi then confesses she was never going to confess to Yuki which makes her a bad person. Touko seems to understand what that means and makes excuses for Yanagi because they are friends. They part ways as Yanagi hobbles home and Touko goes to school to sketch chickens instead of I don't know...anything else in the world. As she sketches she hears someone behind her and thinks it is Kakeru. Well Kakeru is hiking alone in the woods the entire episode so it's not him. It is Yuki. Yanagi is seen hobbling to the hospital alone because apparently they have no parents. Yuki sits down with Touko and they talk about the chickens and Touko's personality and how things are slightly awkward between the two of them. Yanagi starts to walk home alone and notes the rain is coming. Touko takes Yuki inside the school so she can get supplies. Yuki refuses to go in the room as he will be alone with Touko. He also has decided that Touko likes Kakeru since she was waiting for the boy at the steps and assumed Yuki was Kakeru. Touko really can't answer so Kakeru leaves. Like runs away kinda leaves. It starts to rain and all the kids need to make it home somehow. Yuki just runs home. Touko gathers up the chickens because she is super concerned about them. Yanagi is slowly making her way home. Kakeru is going home on the same street in the opposite direction. He goes to put a jacket on himself but puts it on Yanagi instead. They sorta have to introduce themselves to each other since they barely has met. Kakeru then gets all awkward and doesn't know it talking about how they write each other's names. The rain stop and they go to part ways but Yanagi and her busted leg falls on Kakeru. This is when Touko chooses to walk nearby. She sees the embrace and assumes the worst and runs away. Touko is barely listening to the boring conversation at dinner time later. The next day Yuki goes for another run SHOCKER while Hiro takes Sachi to the movies..and falls asleep. Touko learns about this date from Gramps as she is alone at the cafe. How did this all become like this?! THE END!
 photo glasslipepisode42_zps9e00bb07.jpg
...Grossest breakfast ever.
MOG. Mog folks this episode. This episode made my face want to melt off. There were so many things happening and most of them were not important. Plus they were numerous and all over the place. 30 seconds here and 60 seconds there. Too much to keep up with and if I wrote them all grouped together it would make less sense than I usually make. I am sorta surprised my summary isn't longer. But yeah folks...this episode ran like a soap opera. Only soap operas used to run for 45 minutes in my day, not 22. Rest in peace As The World Turns.
 photo glasslipepisode44_zps9bee53f5.jpg
And then Touko died of a heart attack. But I guess since she is talking to Sachi she must know it isn't super serious.
I think for my sanity sake though I will blog the rest of this post in groups of what happened as best I can. Otherwise it will be a giant mess and we can't be having that on top of weeks of absence right? So Touko starts off this episode still being very concerned for Sachi a few days after the hike. She saw the girl in her vision and was looking pretty hospital like. Given that she has a condition this could be anytime in the future and not immediately right? But Touko is on top of things now. I don't like how Sachi/the writers pretended like Sachi didn't understand the question. Like were you hospitalized is not the same question as asking if you are going to the hospital to visit a sick friend. Maybe it was a translation thing but I was upset for Touko who probably had her heart skip a beat or two. But yes Sachi was talking about Yanagi who hurt herself at dance lessons. I thought the internet said modeling lessons but maybe I read wrong. A bit dramatic for Touko but all will be okay. Take a deep breath. For now as Sachi still is a sick thing.
 photo glasslipepisode45_zpsfaea56a0.jpg
But I think Yanagi wants more than family....or rather start a family with you.
Yanagi sprained her leg folks. Maybe she thought she broke it but I am not sure I would go to the hospital for a sprained leg. I certainly would call my parents for a ride home though and any other rides to the hospital. I mean what the heck folks this is a giant parent fail. I know they might both be working but it is more likely that the mother is not working as usually in Japan one parent, the dad, works. But since this is a step family maybe the mom had worked for a time being while supporting Yanagi. Either way I would not be walking anywhere like that, especially if I have dreams of being a dancer or what not. Fail. I wonder if Sachi called Hiro to let him know that Yanagi got hurt and he sent his sister over for some help. That would be nice. For now the sorta nice is coming from Yuki. I say sorta because Yuki still sees Yanagi as his sister and as a brother it is his job to be annoying, especially when Yanagi is acting weird for no reason. All blushy face and what not. I like how Touko ran to see if her friend was okay but checked out the minute it was looking lovely dovey. So many good wingmen in this series.

Yanagi spends the next few days taking it easy. I think I would have milked it for a bit more so Yuki could give me more attention. I can't reach this Yuki, please help me Yuki. But maybe she doesn't want to bother him as she seems super invested in Yuki's training for...running. Because you know running is a two person job. It seems as if no one came to visit Yanagi but then again it was just a sprain. It wasn't like she got her wisdom teeth taken out or something. Still the girl needed some help around town. All this hobbling to see Touko and the hospital...not a fan. Not a fan of that or her giant bow of stupidness.
 photo glasslipepisode47_zpsbc355a68.jpg
Oh...so you are a giant liar. I see.
Since Touko is the friend of a year she calls Yanagi out to sit by the docks. Which would be must more interesting to draw but I guess that is just silly talk. Not sure why the two girls couldn't talk on the phone but sometimes one needs to get out of the house and meet in person. I thought that the girls had covered all the Yuki issues on the mountain but I guess not. They are girls and we girls like to rehash things. Also Yanagi did something I didn't think she was going to do and that was..confess to Touko she was never going to confess to Yuki. Touko knows that it was a set up to make Touko never want Yuki or else she would be a bad friend and maybe have Touko revoke this no dating rule (which should have been talked about in a meaningful way with everyone) . I honestly did not see that coming. Maybe Touko had figured it out or it was new news to her. Either way she was on Yanagi's side and made excuses to her friend. It probably helps that she is not interested in the boy anyway so who cares what Touko said. Then the girls talk a bit about Kakeru which is odd. Odd that Yanagi has an opinion on the boy as he literally spent 5 seconds around Yanagi so how can she judge him as self centered? I guess if I were Yanagi I would talk him up so Touko goes down that path. Had she done that though the moment at the end of the episode would have been..worse I guess so I guess it was good he is self centered to Yanagi.
 photo glasslipepisode4_zps722f4bae.jpg
Best date ever? X___X
While Yanagi is having fun with her sprain ankle Hiro has a plan. He must have liked Sachi for a long, long time. If Touko had not broken the rule what would he have done? These kids are crazy. I would have thought that Sachi would have gone to seen Yanagi since she is often in the hospital. But then again it wasn't a real super serious injury. Maybe if it was a break with a cast you could sign she would have rushed over. Anyway Sachi and Hiro spend most of the episode together. In whatever span of time that passes. And most of those hours are spent in silence. Hiro returns a book, they read books together. Reading is usually a quiet thing so not much talking there. I like how magically the book they both liked is not only a movie but in theaters now. Hiro might be a good actor though. XD It is unclear is Sachi knows Hiro likes her or if she thinks they are just book buddies. They do end up going to the movies together as a DATE in Hiro's happy mind but he falls asleep and she probably doesn't see it as a date so I am forced to call it a wash.
 photo glasslipepisode46_zps0f805ff5.jpg
Me thinks that Touko will disappointed at some point in her life.
The rest of the episode focuses on Touko and her interactions with others. She needs to focus on her glass making before she burns herself. Good job dad telling that girl to get her head out of the clouds. She just doesn't want a bad future ya'll. I wonder what she thought those visions were before Kakeru came to town. It seems obvious to me she would have figured it out by now. Like I see things...and then they happen. Maybe she knew but she didn't want to know you know? Anyway who wants to see the future if it is going to be bad? At least she can change a bad future but with such small glimpses Kakeru is probably more correct in thinking it is just nice that she cares. Cares enough to check in on Sachi and to try to check in on Yanagi but leaves to let her and Yuki to have a moment. Just instead of calling out Yanagi to the boatyard Touko and her grandma hat should have went to Yanagi's house. XD But they worked things out. At least for a few hours before another misunderstanding happen.
 photo glasslipepisode48_zps4260b6cd.jpg
So you want to see the chicken torturer?
After leaving Yanagi Touko made her way to the school to draw the chickens. I understand that someone has to take care of the chickens during summer break but it is almost like Touko wants to do this. Like woohoo it is finally school break, let me spend every moment at school drawing ugly birds woohoo!!!!!!!!! This girl needs to learn how to have fun. Because Kakeru and Touko have had 30 minutes of interaction she automatically assumes he would be around the school when she was. Um why is that? Why would Kakeru be at the school? He hasn't even attended class yet. He was just there the first time to get registered. Other than that there is no connection to the school and Kakeru. He knows where Touko lives now so he can go see her there. Or the cafe. Not at boring school. Plus Touko shouldn't want Kakeru there as he is a chicken threatener.
 photo glasslipepisode410_zps54bfeb4c.jpg
See? Just a little bit awkward...
So who was behind Touko? Yuki. That kid is always running so I guess he ran himself there. Or he was running near there and saw Touko and hasn't taken no as an answer yet. I wouldn't call him a stalker...just a kid who really likes a girl and her reasoning doesn't make sense to him. Girls really can't win though. We can't turn down a guy tactfully because we are accused of not being forceful enough. We need to not lead a guy on. But if we are forceful about it we are just rude bitches. Le sigh. Both Touko and Yuki seem to acknowledge there is weirdness between the two of them because of what Yuki has said but they still are able to have fun times and giggle with each other. See, that is what Touko doesn't want to lose. Feed those chickens and make funny jokes with me. That is what Touko wants. Yuki wants that too...but with kisses.
 photo glasslipepisode412_zps4fd45dc5.jpg
Why are you asking all these hard questions?!
So this awkward feeling between Touko and Yuki was manageable. At least from Touko's point of view. Slowly he would fall out of love with her and see Yanagi as a viable mate despite him seeing her as a sibling and all will be well in the world. Well not according to Yuki. He might be quiet and isn't throwing huge fits about Touko's reject but he isn't done yet. That sounds a lot more creepy than I meant it to sound. What I mean is...Yuki has real feelings for Touko. He wants to respect her feelings but his feelings are his feelings. And being told that Touko doesn't love him doesn't change how he feels about her. Well not yet anyway. Young love, it still stings. But now Yuki wants to voice his heart. That maybe Touko doesn't like him because of Kakeru. There is a reason. If that Kakeru hadn't come into town Yuki would have a chance! Touko sorta gave Yuki the perfect ammo. Kakeru is on Touko's mind because she automatically assumed he was behind her at the school. There was no reason for him to be there. She agrees to meet him to talk about “issues”. She invites him on a hiking trip. Where was she to invite him on a camping trip? Yuki is a jealous teenager but a respectful one at this point as he runs off all hurt and stuff. Touko is a bit shocked on how this all went down and that Yuki assumes she likes Kakeru. But I am sure she will over think this as she was told everyone knew that Yuki liked her. So it must be true if everyone assumes she likes Kakeru right? Not that she actually likes him. Because this romance makes no sense to me given how much time they have spent together so logically Touko will like Kakeru because she was told she does. Case closed.
 photo glasslipepisode413_zps837c65a2.jpg
It must be love.
No matter what the kids were doing at the time they all got caught up in the rain. Yuki ran home because of his interaction with Touko. Touko wanted to talk to Yuki but she decided to save the chickens by putting them in their pens. Sachi and Hiro were probably at the movies at this time. This leaves Yanagi hobbling home on her bum leg and Kakeru who was indeed hiking alone in the woods. I am going to venture that Kakeru actually has no hiking experience and wanted to practice thus the camping outside and such. Maybe he is a city boy. The two end up crossing paths trying to keep out of the rain. Kakeru might be awkward and tactless but he is a gentleman and gave Yanagi his jacket. Then...the two actually talked. For the first time. Episode 4 and they have never talked folks yet Yanagi thinks he is self absorbed or whatever. They really did have the world's most boring conversation about the characters in their names and what not. Which to make this love orgy complete would mean Kakeru is in love with her because he loves girls with characters like that. But if there isn't going to be AS complicated as love orgy as some shows...this was a boring conversation done by strangers hiding from the rain.
 photo glasslipepisode414_zpsc634c66f.jpg
MOG WHAT AM I FEELING?!
So the episode ends with Touko rounding the corner just as Yanagi slips and falls on Kakeru. A compromising position? Of course. Obviously. Typical soap opera move. But...Yanagi just got done telling Touko she likes Yuki. Touko is going to support Yanagi getting with Yuki. Had Yuki not filled Touko's thoughts of liking Kakeru and what not maybe this hug would have meant nothing. But for a bunch of teenagers who have never dated before and all these hormones and what not....Touko ran. She got something, embarrassed or some other emotion and ran. What does she think? Obviously this is all a misunderstanding that won't lead to romance but Touko doesn't know that. Or will it lead to something? HMMM I guess we will have to find out next time. XD

Glasslip episode 3

How come everywhere else in the United States there are little old ladies who eat dinner at 4pm and go to bed by 7 and have no idea how to use a cellphone yet I have a chain smoking phone obsessed night owl who couldn't be quiet if her life depending on it? Newsflash! Cellphones are not cups on a string you don't have to scream into them. Gosh like really? Isn't she supposed to be complaining about me and my young and wild ways, spying through the blinds to catch me in the act of a moral infraction? I sense I am getting the short end of the stick here folks.
 photo glasslipepisode314_zps34df004e.jpg
So this is going to need some explanation.....
While I contemplate this grave injustice have another anime post. Number 3 is Glasslip episode 3. Spoilers for it being slightly better than episode 2 and maybe Kakeru isn't that creepy.
 photo glasslipepisode33_zps240b8a35.jpg
Because walking is dramatic folks.
Episode Summary: Touko realizes that asking Kakeru to see the future is making the vision she saw/hear earlier come true. Kakeru says he can stop by her place later as he is busy doing things. Touko gets all embarrassed that a boy is coming over even though she invited them and basically banishes her parents from the glass workshop as she has a “project” going on right now. She goes in the work shop to actually make a piece of glass as she thinks about this love triangle with herself and Yuki and Yanagi. Kakeru takes his sweet time walking to Touko's house, being all stoic and stopping so the episode can cause and be dramatic. By the time Kakeru gets there Touko looks at the piece of glass she is working on and sees a vision of Yanagi crying. Kakeru reveals himself and Touko ruins her piece of glass accidentally. Kakeru points out the obvious, that Touko's medium to receive visions comes from where she works. Touko has no time to say anything to Kakeru as her sister briefly walks in to be all smirky face. This causes Touko to send Kakeru packing before ANYTHING is talked about. While walking down the driveway Kakeru asks if Touko wants to see the future because Yuki confessed to her. Touko is like DUDE you just moved here how did you know? Kakeru doesn't hold back and tells her everyone knew but her. Touko says she wants to remain friends with everyone by seeing the future and changing things. Kakeru doesn't know if that will work but admires her spirit. That said he turns down Kakeru when she invites him to go hiking and walks home stoically alone again. The next day everyone is waiting at the hiking place for Yuki and Yanagi. Touko gets a little weird around Yuki while Yanagi pretends nothing is wrong with bringing a blow dryer on a one day hiking trip. Hiro's sister arrives with her new driver self to take Sachi to the top of the mountain along with their cooking supplies. Hiro worries over Sachi as Touko wishes her luck. Sachi smiles as she notes the tension between Yuki and Touko. On the way up the mountain Hiro's sister talks about Sachi pretty pendant and who it could be from. Sachi says it is from someone she loves (Touko) while Ms. Sister continues to try and make Hiro sound good in Sachi's eye. Good wingman.
 photo glasslipepisode311_zpsac943f6e.jpg
Whoa! We are being upfront...in an anime?! Is this real life?!
The rest of the kids go up the mountain and Touko almost has a moment with Yuki. She then decides to mention Kakeru and the invite to hike on a reflex and all this tension goes over Hiro's head. They reach the top where Sister and Sachi are waiting for them with about 47 boxes full of cooking things. Sister leaves and promises to return when they need a ride back. Sachi claims riding with the sister was fun, like a roller coaster. They take a moment to go a deck and look at the scenery where Touko tries to avoid embarrassing situations. Hiro takes charge of the group and setting up their little area. Yuki tries to go with Touko to get water but Touko takes off with Yanagi instead. They totally walk into the woods to look for water instead of obviously looking at the camp sites where other people are. They eventually find a creek and Yanagi flat out asks Touko if she is going out with Yuki. Touko has a brief freak out that sends both girls into the creek. Yuki gets the tent set up and leaves to find the girls, being a good wing man to Hiro in return. Sachi happily sits down and reads as Hiro makes a meal for everyone. Apparently the boy prepared a speech to woo Sachi but he sorta messes up. It is undetermined if Sachi knows what Hiro was trying to do or if she thinks he is an adorable puppy. Back in the woods Touko and Yanagi start to strip and wring out their soaken wet clothes. They sit down and discuss the Yuki situation. Yanagi confesses to seeing the confession and Touko's lame answer. Touko says she doesn't like Yuki that way and Yanagi is her girl. She will support Yanagi and Yanagi believes her. She vows not to give up on Yuki. The girls then start to use the blow dryer to...dry off. Of course Yuki appears at this time and the girls attack him, tear his arms off, and leave his body in the woods for the bears to eat. Or they all go back to the camp where Hiro has been working hard on the food and flirting with Sachi. At least the food is good. Hiro ends up putting all the 78 boxes of things away and tries to confess to Sachi again. It doesn't work out for him but Sachi gives him a friendship book because. Touko has decided that it is time to talk to Yuki so she drags him away to say....she doesn't think they should get together. He thinks it is another dude while she is tries to tell him they should just be friends and Yuki should open his eyes to someone else. Yuki doesn't throw a fit but doesn't like this answer. Touko seems relieved that hard part is now over. Hiro's sister arrives to take the supplies and Sachi home. Sachi thanks Touko for a wonderful day and Touko gets a vision of Sachi back in the hospital. She tries to ask Sachi if she is okay but the car takes off. Touko worries down the mountain with the others. Sachi does text her on the way home which makes Touko happy. Touko takes a bath with her sister later and tries to talk about the Yuki situation but the sister is more interested in the Kakeru situation. Touko gets all blushy face and probably protests too much. THE END!
 photo glasslipepisode315_zps063ad305.jpg
This is as far as Hiro gets in this episode with Sachi. Sad to watch folks. Well not that sad.
Well...I must say. This episode was much better than the last one. I did think the confession came a bit early but maybe the boys had been waiting forever to make their move. But after this episode I realize that Yanagi is really friends with Touko and her being...semi cryptic and cynical was mostly for show. Dramatic purposes only I suppose. These are just happy and confused kids full of emotions and what not. Maybe we can salvage this slice of life with a tiny bit of magical seeing into the future business.
 photo glasslipepisode35_zps59e5e532.jpg
Stop reading my mind!
Touko is at her family's house eagerly waiting for Kakeru to come over and help her see the future. Life has gotten way too real since the boy has come into town. I think that maybe if Kakeru hadn't showed up none of this would have happened but I don't think Touko realizes that. XD Sorta funny when you think about it. Kakeru arriving and looking at Touko made Sachi and Yuki all HMMM face which made Yanagi want together with Yuki which made Touko break up the no dating rule which lead them to this giant not so giant mess they find themselves in. She needs to take a deep breath as saying thank you to Yuki probably won't last for long. I would like to think that normally Touko wouldn't ask a complete stranger for help in her and her friend's personal lives but desperate times are desperate. Don't come in the workshop or else. OR ELSE!!!
 photo glasslipepisode37_zpsabf689a3.jpg
Well then....this is surely a match made in heaven.
Kakeru was at Touko's house for about 5 minutes. No seriously he was. I would have been pissed if I had been him. She should have just talked to him on the phone and agreed to meet somewhere else if she was going to get that embarrassed about her sister seeing Kakeru. Her trying to hide Kakeru made the situation much more interesting that it really was. I am surprised that Kakeru allowed himself to be pushed aside so fast but I guess he is sorta laid back. He did get an understanding of why Touko's powers work better around glass but that was it. Touko spills the beans on why she wants to see the future and explains the love triangle that seems to be going on. Not so much a triangle as Touko doesn't realize that Sachi likes her but whatever. Kakeru doesn't seem to show much emotion in the fact that Touko said all these potentially embarrassing things about her friends. He handles it in a very clinical way. Like what are you going to do if you see the future. Touko really didn't have a great answer for that since she doesn't know. She wants to do something so they will all remain friends but she doesn't know how to go about doing that. Kakeru notes that will probably fail but her trying to help her friends is something he can appreciate. So when Touko takes these...almost kind words as a sign of friendship she invites Kakeru to the hike tomorrow thinking he will come and maybe to say sorry for sending him away so fast. A hike would be a punishment in my book but whatever. Kakeru clinically turns down the offer and goes home in a very dramatic fashion. Seriously anime, he was walking by some seagulls, why the dramatic scenes?
 photo glasslipepisode39_zpscc422263.jpg
Pay attention Sachi, this is important!
So remember that hiking thing that Hiro planned? That Sachi is too...weak in her random sickness that she couldn't attend a local festival but she would be okay with a hike up a mountain? Yeah that didn't happen either. I can barely hike up my stairs and I am a healthy person. Healthy but lazy. This hike would involve Touko, Yanagi, Hiro, and Yuki. Sachi would be driven up the mountain by Hiro's sister. She would wait for them to arrive, eat lunch with them, and be driven back home after all was said and done. So how does this mean Sachi is hiking too? Yeah Hiro is trying to include Sachi and it is cute but I really wouldn't feel involved with this. Plan a trip to the beach where Sachi can sit in the sand while everyone else swims or something. But I would have loved to be Sachi instead. Like haha I get driven up the mountain and you don't lalala. Hiro's sister does a great job trying to plant love seeds in Sachi's head about Hiro but then she takes the time to mention Sachi's necklace which is from Touko so...you know. Bit of a wash there.
 photo glasslipepisode38_zpsf6728aa8.jpg
You wouldn't. Ever. Except at the end of this episode.
The rest of the 4 kids hiked up the mountain. Not my idea of a good time. Most things outside aren't my idea of a good time though. Yanagi had me rolling my eyes because she brought a blow dryer on a day long camping trip. At least it has batteries....The teasing between Yanagi and Yuki felt like one of a real brother and sister team so I am glad I know they are step siblings and it isn't as incestuous as it seems. I am an equally opportunity teaser though so I will point out that Hiro brought a crap load of stuff to make a meal. I mean at least it was brought in the car but still. Pack a small picnic lunch. But I guess that wouldn't give Sachi much to do. There wasn't much hiking actually shown as that is boring and what not and bugs. Really bugs folks. Yuki did help Touko from falling down the mountain which meant blushy faces. Any other day it would be a friend helping a friend but there is tension between the two. I might have freaked out too Touko, don't feel bad. XD
 photo glasslipepisode312_zpsa9361e30.jpg
Gosh Touko you can't even do a confession right.
Once up the moment there was a bit more teenage tension. I am sure the tension was there before as Kakeru told Touko earlier that everyone knew that Yuki liked her. Even him and he moved to town 30 seconds ago. So there are moments where Touko tries to get Yuki closer to Yanagi and she hangs back a bit. But the tension wasn't so overbearing people couldn't have fun. But then something happened. Other than Yuki trying to genuinely help Touko because finding water is hard moment. That was special. No folks...another moment happened. Instead of spending an entire season full of misunderstandings and hurt feelings things actually happened. People opened their mouths and said how they felt. Like flat out asked questions and gave answers. How is this possible?! Don't they know they are supposed to be in anime and they need to exchange hurt glances and misunderstandings for at least 5 more episodes? HOW CAN THERE BE THE TRUTH?! Well besides Hiro and his pure love for Sachi. He tried but really he is not ready for the truth. He can keep on being cute for now.
 photo glasslipepisode313_zps53bd6f4d.jpg
Well that got better fast. X___X
Yanagi struck first. And she didn't even wait for the adorable moment when she and Touko both fell into the water. Did they really think they were supposed to use stream water for a picnic site? Goobers. But yeah Yanagi had started to talk and BAM they were in the water. After they dragged themselves out Yanagi told Touko that she saw Yuki confess, heard Touko's lame reply, and wanted to know what Touko was going to do about it. I mean she didn't confess EVERYTHING, like how she basically set things up for Touko to take back the no dating rule but she was more upfront than normal teenage girls. I found it refreshing that she was being honest with Touko. In turn Touko was honest with her. No I don't like Yuki. I think of him as a friend. I have always thought you two would be a better couple. And I promise to make it better. We don't know if Touko can make that happen as it involves Yuki's feelings but she and Yanagi are friends. Close friends. She would never want anyone to be hurt and I think she can appreciate how Yanagi was...well I guess mature about it. I will call Yanagi mature. Now they shall celebrate by actually using the damn dryer that Yanagi brought and freak out when Yuki sees them half naked in the process. YAY FRIENDS!
 photo glasslipepisode316_zps099e4538.jpg
Yuki is speechless by the honesty.
Touko decides to keep this honest train going. I was a bit...shocked. But maybe I shouldn't be. These are kids that have known each other forever and she really does want to fix things as fast as possible. So while Hiro has all the fun of making the food and taking down camp alone while not being able to get out to Sachi how he feels Touko goes to have her own talk with Yuki. Which was rather short. I think I like that too. Touko told Yuki that he is her precious friend and that she won't be returning his feelings. Yuki was of course upset but didn't rage against the walls or beg Touko to change her mind or tell her to give it time as she will learn to love him. The name Kakeru got thrown around a bit but I guess that is to be expected. Overall they handled the situation maturely and without...well it was awkward but they moved past it. I am sure he still likes Touko and Touko will still try to Yanagi but I like that Yuki was told up front that he wasn't going to get any Touko action. Lets just get that out there in the open so Yuki doesn't have false hope and look pathetic.
 photo glasslipepisode317_zpscc8f0d94.jpg
Looks like a hospital to me.....
As everyone is getting ready to leave (4 kids walking down the mountain and Sachi taking the van via Hiro's sister) Touko's gets another vision. She gets a lot of these. We haven't gotten much confirmation on this but everyone does know she sees things right? She just hasn't told them yet that they have been classified as visions of the future from Kakeru. Anyway Touko sees Sachi and a hospital and assumes the worse. We don't know what is wrong with the girl yet but something is wrong with Sachi, enough that she can't hike up a mountain or spend time with people at a festival. So Touko is really worried. She can only ask if Sachi is feeling okay right now as...well what else can she do? Sachi is sick, not injured in the future. Touko can't really fix that and I am sure that will become a sad point for her and maybe Kakeru in the future. That seeing things and not being able to change them is heart breaking. Moreso than not getting Yuki and Yanagi together.
 photo glasslipepisode3_zps1553e265.jpg
Gosh stop assuming I like a boy I have spent a grand total of 30 minutes with!
The episode ends with Touko having some bath time with her sister. I have a feeling that I should learn the sisters' names in this show but I guess I am being lazy at this point. Maybe if they add more I will learn them. Not going to learn Mom or Dad or Gramps though. That is universal for all animes I seem to watch. Only people between the ages of 12-22 matter in animes gosh. Older than that and you might as well be a senior citizen. Anyway Touko has a lot to think about including Kakeru. Well she wasn't thinking about him. She was thinking about being confessed to (what Yuki did) and the sister assumed she was talking about the boy in the shed Kakeru. Wait? Boy? I like him? Yeah I am slightly rolling my eyes at that folks. They haven't had much interaction at this point and one of them, the first one, involved some weird look at the school's chickens. Maybe she is attracted to what she thinks is the bad boy in him but I want more interaction before there is instant love or something. At least have a fish growing out of her knee or something to tie them together. I guess we will see how this works out now that there are a correct amount of people for this new love orgy!

Glasslip episode 2

 photo glasslipepisode29_zps2fc0d656.jpg
Thanks Touko. I might be saying that a lot....
YAWN! Old lady in the house. Get off my lawn and all that crap. Actually I do want to scream to my neighbors all the time get off my porch but that is another story I suppose. But yeah I need to get some motivation up in here right now to get things done. I made a list of things to get accomplished today and I want the satisfaction of crossing quite of few of them off before my head hits the pillow. I might fail but I can at least try yes? Try I must of course! Up now is Glasslip episode 2. Spoilers for maybe some of these kids being messed up.
 photo glasslipepisode26_zps2cd4c7ba.jpg
Oh snap I am see mountains and snow and dead kids.
Episode Summary: Everyone continues to glare at Kakeru and act like he is the devil. Not Hiro though who is curious on what Touko and Kakeru saw together. Sachi wants to know how Kakeru knew how they were here and Kakeru is like meet me tomorrow at 11 and walks away. Yanagi decides to stop being concerned and tells Touko to go out with the dude while Yuki fumes. Sachi agrees to go with Touko to the meeting so everything goes well and shoots down Hiro's idea of everyone going. Hiro tries to figure out girls later and his older sister makes fun of him. Everyone is then seen spending their evening doing what they want including Yuki running and Touko making glass jewelry. She seems unfocused because of the Kakeru issue. The next morning Kakeru is laying around and listening to classical music when he hears Touko's voice say “Have you found your fragment?”. He says he has slipped up, implying he needs to be more careful. He tells his dad not to prepare lunch for him as he has a date. Touko and Sachi go to some special building in their town to wait for Kakeru. Touko gives Sachi the glass piece she made last night and Sachi acts like the happiest girl in the world. Turns out the glass piece Touko wears is something Sachi made which also makes Sachi all blush face. Kakeru walks in and Sachi is immediately on edge. She wants Kakeru to leave Touko alone but Kakeru says he can solve one of Touko problems, that he knows she SEES things. Touko immediately is interested and wants to talk to Kakeru. Sachi agrees to wait downstairs but tells Kakeru they don't allow dating in their group. Kakeru jumps into asking about Touko's ability/things she sees. He then apologizes for hearing her future voice earlier that morning. She acts confused for half a second but then decides she understands as this is the first time she has HEARD a voice during a vision. Kakeru says this is the first time he has SEEN something while hearing a voice. He calls these events fragments. She seems confused that these are future events and Kakeru says she probably has a trigger. She implies it is glass so Kakeru steps closer to her so she can look into her glass necklace. She has a vision of her friends leaving her behind on a train and her saying I want to see the future. She seems confused and Kakeru says when they are together they can hear and see the future. He gives her his number in case she wants to work together. Touko doesn't really give many details to Sachi later and Sachi is all like I will cut him if he hurts you.
 photo glasslipepisode23_zpsb6cc5417.jpg
No one cares about me!
Hiro is at home making a confession sign for Sachi so his sister teases him. The sister also mentions seeing Sachi at the hospital, somewhere she goes frequently. Yuki on his run sees Kakeru and he has to do the man thing and run past him to show off his ability. Yanagi yells later for Kakeru over doing it being on man like. She helps him with the cool down process where Yuki mutters something about Kakeru and losing. Yanagi puts the pieces together and panics. She calls Touko and says she wants to confess to someone. Touko immediately guesses Yuki, thinking they would make a cute couple. Yanagi thinks Yuki likes someone else but Touko tells her everything will be okay. Yanagi mentions leaving the group but Touko is like nope all will be fine. She then goes to dinner with her family who talk about the parent's first date or something else boring and not important to the story. Hiro, Sachi, and Yuki gather at the cafe first as Yanagi is at a class. Yuki wants to know about the event yesterday but Sachi has not many details since she left the room. Touko arrives and Hiro says they are going hiking tomorrow exciting. Touko interrupts him, saying they are now opened for dating. Hiro never realized that was a rule and Yuki is confused. Touko wishes him luck and Sachi and Yuki misunderstand her. Yanagi arrives at the cafe to find everyone but Hiro gone. She plans on taking a slight break but freaks out when Hiro tells her of the new dating rule. Homegirl RUNS off towards her house in silly high heels. Touko and Yuki had just reached the bend in the road where they go in different directions when Yuki says he wants to talk. Touko really misunderstands on what is going to happen and encourages Yuki to be more honest...confess maybe. Yanagi and her ugly hair ribbon appear around the corner as Yuki confesses to Touko. She freaks, thanks the boy, and bikes off at the speed of fast. Yuki sits down sad and Yanagi walks up pretending not to have heard anything and leads Yuki home. At her house Touko is really freaking out over what has happened and that she needs to fix things. She calls Kakeru and tells him she wants to see the future. When she says that she realizes she has fulfilled the vision she saw of herself saying the exact same thing. THE END!

Wait...you don't like us?!
Hmmm...I am thinking I might not like this series after all. I thought it was going to be more slice of life cuteness but after this episode I am rethinking things. I am probably way over analyzing things and it is too soon to tell for certain things but yeah...I am just getting a weird vibe from this show. Like it is trying to be more realistic than WOOHOO happy all the time shows and MOG TERRIBLE things all the time shows. Like this would be the more likely result.
 photo glasslipepisode28_zps4deb56e6.jpg
Woohoo that was the introduction folks! And possibly the conclusion.
You know if this show didn't have people hearing and seeing the future. Then it would be the more likely result. But that is another issue that I take with this show. Not that people have super natural powers but the nature in which it was explained. Or not explained. I know this is only episode 2 and there are plenty of time left to explain Touko and Kakeru's magical powers...I really, really don't think that is going to happen. I mean the way this show is set up they might have a flashback of when Touko was younger and had a vision while looking at some glass but other than that...I really don't think it is going to get explained. I get that not everything is world needs to be explained. I just feel...it is hard to explain how I feel. I feel as if this really important plot point was just glossed over. Barely introduced. Thrust onto the viewers and all the characters already know about this issue and probably won't explain it at all. Like oh yeah Touko has done this whatever. And Kakeru can do it too. It is just hard to verbalize why I think this leaves a bad taste in my mouth, at the confusing way this plot point was introduced and talked about.
 photo glasslipepisode22_zps10605e30.jpg
How these kids are such flip floppers?
So 6 days after I started this post...let me figure out where I was going with all of this. So remember all that grand standing and evil faces made at Kakeru? How a lot of the kids were acting like Kakeru was this great evil despite not even knowing the kid and the chicken story? Well nothing came from it. They seriously are insane. They are a tiny group of friends who probably made a pact dipped in their own blood and any outsider would be looked upon with contempt. Despite looking slightly...derpy/happy Touko doesn't seem like the kind of heroine that would need help 24/7 and needs to be protected at all times because she likes taking candy from strangers and what not. I could be wrong. Maybe she got burned in the past because of her visions and what not. Just I thought all this glaring and evilness/over protectiveness from the kids was SUPER CREEPY but then it receded. Like um no, we weren't being super suspicious a few minutes ago, what are you talking about?
 photo glasslipepisode210_zpsea5c37d7.jpg
Hiro has not been informed of the tenseness in case anyone hasn't noticed.
If Kakeru felt any of that weirdness he didn't say much. He was more like...okay I acknowledge you all exist but only Touko is important. He tells Touko to meet him somewhere tomorrow because....well because. They see and hear things, he has spiked her interest. I sorta wanna know how he knew they hung out at this cafe but maybe it will be shown later this is Blood-C and this is literally the only other building in town. Kakeru and his smooth self tells Touko what to do which puts everyone on the defensive. Well Sachi and Yuki who love Touko anyway. Yanagi probably wants Touko to be murdered by this dude so she can end up with Yuki. Hiro just wants to know what is going on. He offers to help and Sachi is like dude you don't understand girls!!! I would like to think that these friends were really close at one point but then all the crazy hormones took over and it got tense and what not.
 photo glasslipepisode25_zpseb0a7982.jpg
Oh I am SURE this will end well....
ANYWAY it is decided that Sachi will go with Touko to see this weird new kid Kakeru. Hiro probably genuinely wanted to help his friend, like we should all go and help Touko! Instead he is told he doesn't understand girls. He goes home to think about girls and his older sister decides that laughing at him was better than actually helping him. To be fair trying to understand girls really doesn't work if you think of us girls as the same entity. We are all different and crazy in our own ways. Still poor Hiro. Yanagi probably spends her whole evening thinking of what new ugly bow to wear. Seriously I want to burn all her bows. When trying to learn how spell these character's names I learned that this girl is in modeling school or something. Well....yeah. She needs to model those bows to the trash. Touko spends her evening worrying about this Kakeru kid and can't really focus on the glass bead she is making. I always stop and watch the glass makers when I go to Disney World although my husband appreciates it more. Just sorta cool of something can be so liquidy and pushed into position with the spinning and what not. Plus I be scared to death that I would burn myself! Touko is able to semi make the bead and think about her confusing life so I stand by my decision to think she is not a damsel in distress.
 photo glasslipepisode24_zpsd19df848.jpg
Kakeru is hearing the future! Maybe he can see dead people too?
The next day arrives, when Kakeru is supposed to meet up with Touko even though she doesn't want to. He has to get into the mood by listening to classical music and looking calm and peaceful. Not the chicken threatener he was the other day. Suddenly he hears Touko's voice and he is all CRAP. I was too. Like hello I thought he heard HIS voice from the future. You liar synopsis you. Oh and it looks like Touko lives with his dad. Parents must be divorced so him coming to town isn't as odd. Or fateful. He didn't come looking for Touko, things just happened. So that makes his....wanting to talk to her right awayness that much more interesting. Or odd. Anyway he goes on his way to meet Touko who has made it to the building first with Sachi. Turns out the bead she made was for Sachi as Sachi has made one for Touko in the past. Touko seems to wear it all the time and all this bead giving makes Sachi very happy. BLUSHY FACES! Hiro...I am not seeing this end well for you. In fact I started to see QueerRats again and nearly died.
 photo glasslipepisode27_zps4beca22a.jpg
And now I will leave. But don't come near her!
When Kakeru arrives to this amazing building of memories and town sentimentalness Sachi goes into Touko is MINE and you better back off. Sorta reminds me of me and how I think I am a giant dog when I am a tiny mouse pretending to bark. Just...amusing. Then she leaves after 5 seconds. All this build up and Kakeru is like what can I do to earn your trust...and she leaves the room. THE TRUST WAS NOT EARNED! He did say he was going to be able to help Touko out, implying the vision thing, and Touko says she is going to be okay but still. Sachi was all glary and just left so easily. What happened to not trusting Touko's ability to be around strangers? Maybe Kakeru just tricked her!!! Whatever the reason Sachi goes to wait downstairs because that is helpful but not before telling Kakeru they don't allow dating their group. Just through that out there. Guess we know why the tension exists now...

After Sachi goes downstairs to glare holes into the ceiling Kakeru and Touko go outside to talk about their abilities. This is where things get confusing and eye rolling. Touko plays dumb at first but then soon caves in and then the two are talking about how they hear/see things like they are life long friends just waiting for someone to understand them. Sorta like how everyone knows the words to a Disney song without practicing before. To break this down for sanity's sake Touko has been able to see things for a long time, helped with the presence of glass. Kakeru has been able to hear his own voice, perhaps with the help of music. But when Kakeru was walking by the festival and crossed Touko's path they could both hear AND see a fragment of the future. So Kakeru is convinced that they were meant to meet and complete their powers. Like when we are together we will be more powerful and can see the future. For some reason, without knowing Touko, he thinks this will help her. Take away one of her problems. Perhaps Touko doesn't want to see things? Maybe that is why her friends want to help her? But then Touko starts talking about wait the future? Like she saw these things and didn't know it was the future? Yeah okay. Touko doesn't seem on board for this. I can believe that is realistic. She needs to think this over while Kakeru is like okay..but I know you will see it my way. Have my home phone number as I am not cool enough for a cellphone.
 photo glasslipepisode215_zps7d801bfd.jpg
Too much drama for Touko to handle!
Touko thinks this over by eating ice cream with Sachi. I am not sure how much her friends know about her vision. Maybe they think she is unstable thus they need to protect her? We see 5 seconds of Hiro making a confession sign for Sachi. Like literally the sign only says confession. His sister has to come by to make fun of Hiro and help the audience learn that Sachi might be a pretty sick girl. Not sick enough to avoid hiking but sick enough to avoid crowds at the festival. But most of the action that takes place this day involved Yanagi, Yuki, and clueless Touko. Yuki is a runner. I know people have hobbies but out of all the sports in the world this seems the most boring to me. Then again I love being a couch potato. So Yuki is running along and sees Kakeru running as well. Kakeru is doing this as casual exercise as Yuki is a serious runner. Still Yuki thinks he is being awesome by passing Kakeru. Like yeah I am THE MAN! Only he doesn't really feel like the man. He is worried this kid who has been in town for 2 minutes is going to take his Touko away from him. Yanagi and her silly self is helping Yuki cool down from his work out as it is a sneaky way to touch him without actually being sexual even though it could seem like it hears Yuki getting upset about the Kakeru situation which makes her upset. Yuki is HER man. Because they are step-siblings. I am glad the internet told me this as I might be still barfing, like I said last episode.
 photo glasslipepisode211_zps40f52197.jpg
Yanagi is either very smart or very emotional.
Yanagi seems to be the smartest of this bunch. And the sneakiest. While Hiro is being all pure of heart and cute Yanagi is calculating. I hope all of this is coming across as playful, my words. Unless it turns out all to be true, that Yanagi does want Touko dead and everyone is a crazy person. But for now I am just sorta playing. Maybe even appreciate how more realistic this show is. Instead of allowing others to just “win” the person of their dreams because everyone is too Japanese to speak their mind Yanagi is like hell no bitch I want this boy. So Yanagi put her teenage mind to work and put a plan into motion. She involved Touko and told the girl she (Yanagi) likes Yuki. She did this to see if Touko like Yuki. The girl doesn't but since Touko is a proper Japanese girl if she did like Yuki this confession of Yanagi would cause her to back off. A real win for Yanagi really. Now if only there wasn't this darn rule about dating people in the group....What? Touko is going to get rid of that rule? Fully supports Yuki being with Yanagi and they will be the best couple? Oh thank you Touko. Thank you. * wipes a tear from her eye * And end scene. Thank you Yanagi for that display. Maybe deep down she is a conflicted teenager but most of me believes she wasn't so...sad and concerned about this as she was just marking her territory.
 photo glasslipepisode212_zps6d10a98e.jpg
Maybe Hiro was late to the meeting that day...
Touko sends the night thinking about the situation and sorta ignoring her family who seem to want to bore me each week with their family talks. The next day at the cafe Sachi, Hiro, and Yuki wait for Touko. Worry wort Yuki wants information about the meeting between Touko and Kakeru but since Sachi left the room she has no real info to share. I am surprised that Sachi lived to see the next day. Once Touko gets there Hiro tries to get some of the attention on his poor self for a moment, to talk about their plans to hike but yeah....His news isn't as important as Touko announcing to all that they are opened for dating. For business. DATES FOR EVERYONE! I am sure that this rule came about as a group decision so why does Touko think she can just overthrow it herself? Hiro didn't even know the rule existed! No one seemed to care though as they probably made this rule when they were young and now they are 18 years old and want kisses. WOOHOO!!!
 photo glasslipepisode213_zpse2005f82.jpg
Oh Touko....oh Touko indeed.
Hiro stays behind at the cafe to plot his plan to maybe ask out Sachi when Yanagi rolls up. She was at her modeling class but she can stop for some tea. Only Hiro is once again is ignored as Yanagi is informed of the new we can date rule. OPEN FOR BUSINESS! I am sure Yanagi realizes that Touko did it for her. She was more worried about Yuki getting ideas that he is allowed to like Touko back. In fact that little rule was probably the only thing keeping Yuki from shutting his mouth. TIME TO RUN! And girl can run you know. In those tiny little heels off she went down the road to stop Yuki because clearly waiting a day or two would be silly. Yuki is going to confess now.
 photo glasslipepisode2_zpsbe2e6a1b.jpg
Fix this now new kid!
And confess he did. Touko was sitting there thinking that Yuki was going to ask out Yanagi and her friends were going to be happy forever. Like yes I have helped them, I am the best person ever. Instead Yuki and his nervous self confesses to Touko accidentally in front of Yanagi. Touko.......could only manage a thank you before escaping. Yanagi acted all cool, calm, and collected about the situation. Like let's go home you goob. But both are hurt. Touko seems hurt too. I am sure she blames herself. Like no this isn't what I wanted what have I done?! If only I could see the future and fix this...wait I CAN!!! Time to call Kakeru and make it a self fulling prophecy. So is the rest of the show going to be Touko seeing how bad things can turn out if she doesn't interfere? Or will it be more light hearted? Like yes it looked like something bad happened but we all laughed about it in the end so I shouldn't have tried to change it? I am not sure how effective this will be but I guess Touko is going to try. Maybe this will be a lesson about communication and not just assuming things. Or maybe Yanagi will put Yuki's head in a bag and carry it around. We shall see!

New Anime Series! Glasslip episode 1

Well folks well. I had plans today to blog and post 3 anime posts today. THREE! I was going to bam bam bam them all out. I was going to start finishing them all up during the soccer/fotbal game today and post them all in a row. Then...well if you watched the game you know what happened. During half time I had to update the husband who just came home from work, then we had to watch the game, then we had to talk about the game all over facebook/texts, and then we had to watch all the commentators basically destroy..the events that happened. Obviously nothing was going to get done in that huge chunk of time. Since when am I so into sports? What is wrong with me?!
 photo glasslipepisode12_zps55dce652.jpg
I think I forgot to post my 4th of July photos...
So yeah folks....now that the excitement has died down and the instant replays are on pause...it is time to finally finish at least one post and get it posted before I go to bed. I won't make any grand plans for tomorrow since amazing things might happen again. Yet I don't want to get too far behind this new anime season again. So lets get to it. Up now is the new anime series Glasslip. A series that looks wrong every time I spell it. Spoilers for chickens and meaningful glances.
 photo glasslipepisode14_zps554f048b.jpg
Voices from the future have physical form. Duh.
Episode Summary: In a smallish looking town people gather around to celebrate a festival of some sort. There is a little bit of focus on a boy traveling by train to get to said town and then him walking around disinterested in the festivities but most of the action involves a friendship core of 4 (5) people. One friend Sachi is at home watching the festival from her window while her friends Yanagi, Hiro, Yuki, and Touko hang out and do different festival stuffs. The girls Yanagi and Touko do small games while the boys go to different booths to gather food. While watching the fireworks Touko gets a vision of a boy and hears his voice. She looks confused and tries to focus on the fireworks. At that time the boy on the train walks by. He looks at her all confused which makes her feel as someone is watching. Shaking that off the girls join the boys at the top of the hill near a temple where it is snacking and ramune time. Yuki seems very focused on Touko which makes Yanagi a bit pissed off. Yanagi starts talking about how they are high school seniors and this will be their last year meeting up for the festival. The other three find that rather negative thinking. Yanagi sees it as being realistic as they don't know the future. Touko wishes for her future self to solve any problems that may arise...and sees train boy walk by again. The next day the 4 plus Sachi are chillin at a cafe which Hiro's grandfather seems to run but different kids take turns helping out. Yanagi seems to make fun of Yuki as he waits on grandmas. They hang out a little while more with Hiro showing signs of liking Sachi. Later Touko goes home briefly to tell her mother what she wants for dinner and to help with the family business which is glass blowing. Sachi is at home reading and thinking about the gifts her friends got for her at the festival. When they were at the cafe earlier it caused problems between the APPARENT siblings Yanagi and Yuki. Touko then goes to their school to draw a picture of the school's...chickens. Train boy turns out to be transferring to Touko's school and she accidentally refers to him as David (the statue of David) when she first sees him. He (Kakeru) starts acting awfully friendly with Touko right off the bat which makes the girl nervous. He asks about the chickens and Touko explains they are free range that everyone takes turns make sure are alive. Kakeru thinks the chickens should be in cages. Touko is calm when she says most animals don't belong in cages but Kakeru starts going on and on. That cats might eat them or something. When Touko says the cats aren't an issue and the birds can fly away. Kakeru gets a really, REALLY odd look in his eyes and Touko freaks out, shooing Jonathan away and standing in Kakeru's way.
 photo glasslipepisode110_zps30de1ba0.jpg
I will totally drive you and your chickens around tee hee.
Touko calls Hiro and Yuki to gather up the chickens as there are 5 friends and 5 chickens. Hiro's sister picks and drives them around. Sachi and her chicken do just fine. Yanagi is beyond pissed to come home and find a chicken in her room. She is even more pissed that it is a favor Yuki is doing for Touko. She starts to say really mean things about the situation and stomps away. Touko acts like a chicken with her head cut off dealing with her chicken. Mom decides to make a chicken meal for the occasion and talks about her first date with the dad. While watching the chicken Touko wonders if she is really doing what is best for them. The next morning all the chickens are back at the school and all the kids are at the cafe, this time Yanagi serving the food. The kids talk about what they should do on their break, by picking something Sachi can do. Yanagi comes over and pretends (maybe) to be mad about the chicken thing. They all want to know what Touko was thinking with taking them home and she starts talking about Kakeru when suddenly he is there behind him. She is like oh this is the new exchange student and Yuki and Sachi are all glare city who the hell are you insane. Hiro is like err should I be mad while Yanagi looks at Yuki, then sorta glares at Kakeru. Touko is confused so Kakeru decides to confuse her more by saying he saw what she saw on the firework night, a vision of the other person. THE END!
 photo glasslipepisode112_zpsdf148177.jpg
At least the nice, sweet girl wasn't....not nice sweet. I need some sense of normalcy guys.
So....yeah. That was a bit different than what I was expecting. I guess that was a good thing as anime can be sorta formulaic. And it still was at some parts. But I thought it was going to be slice of life, everyone sweet as pie, and the new kid was awkward. I didn't think there was actually going to be anything magical afoot or anyone was going to be anything but sweet as pie nice. Awkward and prone to human emotions yes but...hmm.
 photo glasslipepisode113_zps24b2be75.jpg
Take a picture, it will last longer.
This show has several artist elements that either are really pretty or they are trying to hard to be...special and unique if that makes sense. Like when the screen frames like it is now a picture all sketch like. Like randomly got to stop the action to make the moment seem special or important. Also how the characters were introduced were different. The whole stop screen thing again with the names underneath said character. It helps me as a blogger and a person who is bad with names to learn them better though. Especially in the land of Japan, where people rarely go by their given name as last names or nicknames are much more prevalent. So that is that.
 photo glasslipepisode17_zpsa65e115a.jpg
Oh and Touko has a family that I guess is important.
A great deal of the episode dealt with festival fun. I do love a festival episode but most don't start off that way, most animes anyway. Usually we have a few episodes under our belt so we know the dynamics and what not. So when the drama starts to happen it makes sense. This episode was like nope, we are premiering a day before the 4th of July bring on the fireworks. It was a bit odd though watching the fireworks go off and people didn't stop to watch them. Like that is usually the main thing, the last event of the night. Instead all the booths were opened and people watched...then kept on going. Some people didn't even get to the area when the fireworks started. Odd.

Oh and there was this moment that affected Touko and I am guessing Kakeru.
Still there was typical festival fun. Food, prizes, shopping. Girls in cute clothes. Boys looking at the girls in cute clothes because they can't wear the cute clothes themselves. I hope it will be explained why Sachi didn't join her friends. She seems okay to go hiking in the woods and hanging out at the cafe. Maybe she can't handle huge crowds? Don't know. But yay festivals and having fun. Crisp looking fireworks and the beginnings of very complicated relationships that are probably not going to end nice and neat.

Don't worry folks, they aren't related by blood.
Where to start with these kids? At the festival it is clear that this newcomer Kakeru had an agenda. A man on a mission. Didn't care about what was going on around him, he was looking for something. And that something was Touko. Now in the summary for this show it said that Kakeru heard a voice from the future leading him to Touko. But Touko also heard a voice and had a vision so...you know. Still Kakeru looked a little off at the festival. Yanagi seemed to be acting like the older sister of the group, taking care of Touko. But if looks could kill Touko would be dead and Yanagi would claim her prize Yuki. Who according to the internet is only her step brother, not her brother or cousin like I thought and started to poke my eyes out. They probably should have mentioned that in the show so I wasn't gagging and what not. Hiro seems to like Sachi who is about as interesting as a rock. As the show goes on I am sure there will be more relationships and tears but for now that is what I see.

Give me back our friendship bracelets!
I am not sure if I should applaud Yanagi for her realistic view on life or side with the other 3 (maybe 4) with their optimistic view on their friendship. The thing is relationships are slightly different in Japan. People move and the distance can really effect you. Heck being in a different class can effect friendships. So chances are these kids might go to different colleges or start jobs somewhere else than their tiny town. Family commitments might happen right away with people who enjoy procreating the minute they graduate from high school. So Ms. Doom and Gloom Yanagi might be right. Especially if all these love orgies explode in their face. But the others want to believe things will be okay, even if they know deep down it is a lie. I think that Touko actually might believe it though. That her future self will be able to fix any problem and the rest of their lives they will celebrate this festival. Will Touko get her wish?

Putting that all aside it is time to meet up with Sachi, the 5th member of this group. I already see a problem with two guys and three girls in the original pair. Good thing another boy is showing up. I am just going to assume that the kids get free treats at the cafe because Hiro's relative owns it and they take turns serving the food and what not. It's not really anyone's job but Hiro's. But the group of friends seem happy. They don't have to do everything together but they spend enough time together to be close. In between being jealous of each other. Some light teasing and some I mean it teasing. Especially on the side of Yanagi. This show is going to be a fan of flashbacks I see. I don't know how I feel about flashbacks within the same episode. Seems kinda lame because we just saw the material. But since the flashbacks add to what is currently going on, a different point of view...I might allow it. Since people asked my opinion.

First red flag folks!
After Touko runs back home to torture her family and do other random things she finds herself at school drawing chickens. I have never had a school pet before but I think chickens are a no for me. Just a no. They also seem kinda boring to draw. I would go to the beach if I could draw but that is just me. But Touko had to go to the school so she could run into train boy who magically has transferred to her school with 6 months of school left or something like that. :( What a bummer that is. Anyway the train boy name is Kakeru and apparently he looks like a naked statue. Does anyone else see it? Maybe Touko was blinded by the light and what not. I just don't know.

Where I come from we protect our chickens!
Anyway the conversation between Touko and Kakeru started off okay despite the fact that Kakeru is a bit...you know forward with how he talks and he has been sent there on a mission from a future voice. But it turned very creepy very, very early on in the conversation. Over the boring pet chickens. I do see both points of view. Animals are...animals. They do well in the wild and cages are rather sad. But animals in the wild don't live as long as domesticated animals. And animals don't really know what they are missing if they are raised indoors and what not. Maybe I am biased since my cat is scared to death of outside and seems to be quite happy with her current living conditions. I think zoos are a mixed bag. Not a fan of tiny cages but my zoo has pretty big areas for most of the animals. So yeah....Touko had points and Kakeru had points too, especially around the wild cat thing.

Clearly a chicken killer.
But clearly I am talking about how Kakeru got some crazy look in his eye when Touko thought she was making a good point. Touko was sorta trying to push it aside and Kakeru thought of a good way to prove her wrong. The chicken could fly away can he? So....yeah it looked like Kakeru was going to hurt the chicken. Kick it or something to prove his point. It was just a super creepy/awkward moment that you just feel. Even if Kakeru tried to make it a joke later it was done folks. First impression done, this is a creepy kid. It always starts with the animals! Then you move onto the people. Just...anyone who saw that moment would be creeped out yes?

Also chickens.
Touko was so upset she gathered up all 5 chickens and handed them out to her friends. I am sure as the show progresses a 6th chicken will show up to represent Kakeru. Or maybe he will be a friendly cat. Something anyway. These must be true friends because I would have been um no I am not chicken sitting. Everyone must have pretty cool parents too. The only person who had a problem with it was Yanagi. I mean I see her point of view. You agreed to the chickens, you watch over them. But she had to take it a step further with talking about how Yuki does whatever Touko wants. I mean if she said DIE would you do it? Again it was a creepy moment but Yanagi pulled it back by realizing that Touko is a good girl. Still no one likes chickens and Yanagi is jealous.

Did I miss something.....?
The next morning all the chickens were brought back to the school and everyone had a fun teasing Touko. Like oh you silly girl. Lets sit down now that we are chicken free and talk about the rest of our plans for summer break. Something that Sachi can do. But before we can agree on that...really girl? Chickens. I don't think Touko was going to tell them the whole truth about what happened. She seems like a kind of girl to protect others, even those who threaten beloved chickens. She was just going to be very vague about the new student Kakeru and POOF there he was. And right off the bat EVERYONE ELSE starts acting creepy. I know he whispered something about seeing the vision/hearing the voice to Touko but did anyone else hear it? I think not. No one really knows what happened with the chickens. Yet everyone minus Hiro was shooting Kakeru evil glares. Jealously? They don't want anyone else in the circle of friends? Touko is unable to make decisions on her own? They have to protect her from outsiders? Either way this episode was not how I thought things were going to go down. Everyone was going to be lalala and Kakeru was going to prance in and announce Touko was the one for him and everyone would accept him with open arms and not talk about their jealous feelings. Instead we get glares and chickens. Guess we will have to wait until episode 2 to see how things shape out. Til next time.
