Black Rock Shooter episode 8 FINAL EPISODE!

I feel like a little lazy slug. XD Which I guess is better than being a tired slug. I think everyone was too busy at the movies and enjoy their last days of Spring Break to order a pizza. After Friday night I needed an easy night at work. Now it is time for movies and the internets.

But….I can’t be completely lazy. I have to use this lazy time to blog Black Rock Shooter final episode. It seems the writers had a bit of the lazies when it came to this show. Too bad I already spent my money on nendoroids before this show came out. Of course they are adorable….but could I really buy them and support such a hot mess of a show?

Photobucket

The face of a hero!

Am I getting too spoilery already? XD If you have made it this far in the show you are either a fan or someone at their wits end? Yay for watching shows that drive us crazy weeee!

Black Rock Shooter is ready to kill you...I mean love you to death!

Episode Summary: Real Yuu continues to beat the crap out of Black Rock Shooter which causes Mato to be in unbelievable pain. Strength Yuu feels really bad as she was the one who SENT Mato to be in Black Rock Shooter. So Strength Yuu had decided to travel back to Other World (because she can do that now) naked and will kill herself so Real Yuu will go back to the Real World and Mato will be okay. Still in Black Rock Shooter but okay apparently. Real Yuu is like NOOO don’t send me back and Mato is like NOOO Strength Yuu don’t die. Black Rock Shooter is about to finish off Real Yuu when Mato is able to stop her. Strength Yuu is saved from becoming a pancake but Mato emerges from Black Rock Shooter as Black Rock Mato. Strength Yuu makes it to Real Yuu who has lost all her powers. Real Yuu breaks down and is like WHYYYY why would you send me back to reality!!!!! Elsewhere Mato is like I want to feel my own pain and don’t want you fighting my battles anymore. So Black Rock Shooter proceeds to kick the ever loving crap out of her. All the while Black Rock Shooter explains that people can’t get hurt without hurting other people. People who really care about Mato. Mato decides that she wants to see all the pink sneezes and has to live. She powers up against Black Rock Shooter.

Photobucket

Mato, the sane one of the show.

In the real world all the girls start remembering their past pain and start crying. They should be crying because no one offered to help Yomi off the street when she is crying. Yomi eventually helps herself up and wants to share her pain with someone else. As all the girls in the real world power up their Other Girl counterparts Strength Yuu explains what is happening. In an explosion of color all the Other Girls unite and Mato is able to “beat” Black Rock Shooter. The land then turns all white. Real Yuu looks over at Strength Yuu who is not doing so good. Mato randomly shows up and Strength Yuu explains that the Other Girls have no feelings. But they fight to protect the ones they love…Real Yuu cries and Strength Yuu thanks Mato for being her friend. Then Strength Yuu gets a bad case of sparkle cancer and dies. Mato sees back Black Rock Shooter and suddenly we are back in the real world. Real Yuu is being hugged by Saya while Mato is outside by herself? Yomi finds her and apologizes for being a freak. From then on everything is wonderful. Mato is on time to school, Yuu is introduced as a new transfer student, Kagari hangs out with Yomi, and Yomi makes everyone bracelets sans hair. Then the girls do some weird Voltron thing in the air with their bracelets. They walk home together and talk about how they will no longer freak out about the smallest issues in the world. In the Other World Strength is alive and Black Rock Shooter says she will keep on fighting for Mato, the girl she loves. THE END!

Oh lord. Where do I begin with this hot mess? The good news is though a lot of people are pretty disappointed with this series. I don’t feel so alone with my “negative” opinion. Because apparently if someone doesn’t like a show that makes them a hater. It has nothing to do with the show actually sucking or not.

Maybe I will talk about the show as a whole instead of just this episode. Better connect my thoughts and what not. Or I will rant on about things like normal. XD What do you think?

The fact that Mato didn’t get a past “pain” section makes the entire show very weak. Black Rock Shooter is beyond strong and there has to be a reason for that. And this past pain would have had to happen when Mato was much younger to affect Strength and Real Yuu. Yet no back story ever came. And I am not buying the fact that Mato caring about other people’s pain is what makes Black Rock Shooter so strong. Mato didn’t know about the Yuu/Strength issue. She thought the Kagari and Yomi issue was taken care of. It looks like Mato has a pretty nice life with her family. So unless every single time a bug gets run over by a car I don’t see how Mato could be that messed up.

I mean I think I would have been fine with Mato ACTING okay but deep down she was just as crazy as Yomi. But there is no evidence that Mato is capable of having such deep emotions. She is pretty much lalala bird book and let’s be friends. Given what we know about Strength/Yuu I thought MAYBE her “real” best friend died at a young age. Maybe accidentally by Mato’s hands. And that is what caused Mato to have such pain in her heart. But that never came. And I can’t rate this show on pretending and stretching things that are barely there.

Photobucket

This is Black Rock Shooter reacting normally to someone who wants to be an adult about her problems.

I am still not feeling the entire premise of this show. I think if the girls had experienced real pain (Yuu not withstanding) it would have made everything a million percent better. Yomi especially. Kagari was a bitch to her I will give her that. But her descent into crazy happened AFTER Kagari got better. Yomi admitting she didn’t know how to be and make friends was a good after thought but still folks. Yomi was killing cellphones, making hair bracelets, and giving me the most amazing screen shots ever. If she was really jealous of Yuu she should have maybe been picking on Yuu, demanding more time of Mato, and doing some glares. Not all that insane stuff she was doing that didn’t apply.

But that would have been a normal reaction. And this show was not about normal reactions. It was about creating drama from tiny little issues so the other girls could fight amazing battles. Maybe it is just frightening to me that these girls couldn’t handle such small problems without totally losing their marbles. Yes it was horrible that someone posted Kohata’s note for all to see but it was going to get better. In the grand scheme of things that small event was not going to matter for her future.

Photobucket

Well just don't share it with those jackasses on the street. Seriously people.

Maybe I wouldn’t be so hard on this system if it didn’t result in the girls FORGETTING what made them so sad and bonkers to begin with. The Other World girls take on that pain and fight to protect the Real World girls. But if the Others die then the Real World girls just go POOF what sadness? How does that help ANYONE in the long run? It is putting a bandaid on the issue. People have to go through hard times to learn how to deal with sad issues so they can grow and become strong adults. Under this system the girls are stuck being little kids with no emotional growth.

If that is what Black Rock Shooter was fighting for I would be more understanding. That Mato unconsciously did not support that system. Mato wanted people to cry, yell, and fight out their problems. To be honest with one another and lean on each other in hard times, not Other Girls. But it has been stated that Black Rock Shooter was fighting to protect Mato, that all the pain Mato accumulated from feeling bad from other people feeling bad. So while that theory is nice it is not what was going on and that makes me a sad panda.

Photobucket

I'm pretty sure that makes you a selfish person.

Also there is the small fact that Real Yuu thought the real world was way too hard to live in and sent Strength to suffer in her place. Of course what suffering was there is Strength didn’t really live Real Yuu’s life. I am sure things weren’t all cupcakes and rainbows regardless. So Yuu knows that Strength got beat up every day to protect her and yet sent Strength to suffer more in the real world. X__X Real Yuu was super broken indeed but that is still messed up.

Photobucket

Who needs a back story when you have girls fighting each other?!

Strength was never shown meeting Mato. Strength didn’t age after leaving the Other World as Saya was much older. So Mato did not meet Strength in elementary school. We don’t even know the extent of Strength’s effect on the world. Yomi was obviously super jealous of Strength so we know SOME people were able to see her. Did Strength have the magic to change her age? Did Strength hunt down a younger girl and tagged along to make sure she didn’t get crazier in the Other World? Or did Strength meet up with Mato much later in life and alter Mato’s memories? All of these are excellent questions but we shall have no answers. So lazy this show, answers are for losers.

Photobucket

Silly viewers I wasn't a secondary character!

I think this show could have been stronger from the beginning. There was so much focus on Yomi and her relationships with Kagari and Mato. Strength Yuu was almost a side character. Someone to annoy Yomi. Not someone I would think would become the most important person in the story. But at the last second suddenly Strength Yuu has no shadow and she is the reason behind everything. Some might say it is because the series was only 8 episodes long. I don’t think the amount of episodes is to blame as much as how much time was wasted on stupid things.

LIKE THE STUPID BIRD BOOK! Like people…people…I actually thought the bird itself looked cute but after this show I want to kill everything that flies in the sky. Maybe that is Mato’s greatest trauma. That she never read the end of the book and the bird actually lived. Some other birds came and took on a few of the colors each. That way they could live with a little pain together. See how I just made that up in 5 seconds? My idea was better than the whole book crap. I also love how they had to add in a random girl or two to make a rainbow to rescue Black Rock Mato. Just…this book. Pink sneezes my face.

Photobucket

Ah yes....tough love.

The most disturbing part of this whole episode was Mato getting punched over and over in the fact by Black Rock Shooter. Like hot damn folks! We get it, Black Rock Shooter wants to teach Mato a lesson. The lesson being when someone suffers their loved ones suffer too. But maybe…just maybe that point could have been made with such a broken leg and such? Oh and if you weren’t the one causing your loved one pain?

Photobucket

Photobucket

Last time I checked....love is an emotion. But maybe I am insane.

Speaking of which….is Strength on crack? Or the people who wrote this show. It is VERY hard to love someone if you have NO feelings. One sentence Strength is saying we are born with no feelings and fight to protect you. And we fight to protect you because we love you? X__x Folks does that even begin to make sense? I get that they need to end this show on a positive note for all the crazy 12 year olds that apparently live in Japan but this does not make sense. Could the Other Girls not learn to have feelings? Like over time we develop love for the girls that we are forced to protect because they freak out over the smallest issue? No we can’t do that? Be impressed with the fighting scenes? I see now.

Photobucket

Light our darkest hour!!!!

In the end everything is okay folks. No one is mad at Saya for forcing them to have crazy thoughts, Yuu returns to the real world as a transfer student, Yomi and Kagari have their memories back, and bracelets for everyone! While I agree with the fact these girls need to start handling trauma on their own it was just way too forced. Kagari had a lot to apologize for, where the heck is Yuu going to live, and Saya is like oh hi I will make you nonpoisoned coffee now. Just way too rushed.

Photobucket

Good thing Strength had that dramatic goodbye and all.

In conclusion while collecting the nendoroids is fun I do not recommend this technocolor dream mess to anyone. Unless you like watching 12 year old girls lose their mind at a drop of a hat. For that maybe just go to a local middle school or something. There will probably be less amazing faces but more interesting outfits.

Black Rock Shooter episode 7

My stupid coworker hit me with the pizza peel tonight. Hit me in the elbow and it was red hot. And I didn't kill him.

Clearly I am the most amazing person to ever live. I deserve a lifetime supply of Thin Mints or something. Or maybe I should just consider myself lucky as he hasn't decapitated me yet. MORON!

Photobucket

Pizza peel? Girl please I was turned into a fly swatter (which sadly would not turn out in the screenies :( ).

So with a broken arm...(I am slightly dramatic) I shall blog this amazing show. AMAZING FOLKS! Black Rock Shooter episode 7. Spoilers for things just getting worse.

Photobucket

THAT GIRL!

Episode Summary: Mato explains to the viewers about the Color Bird book. Because it has been 5 seconds since it was mentioned last. The bird DIES people. After the most annoying OP in the history of anime…Mato is still inside Black Rock Shooter. Saya seems to have lost contact with the other world and can no longer interact/control Black Gold Saw. Strength Yuu thinks that Mato can be reached so she will take her turn by going into the Other World. Saya sorta flips out at this notion. Strength Yuu explains that overall Mato is a happy person with not much sadness in her life. In the Other World Black Rock Shooter and her slowly melting face beat the crap out of Real Yuu. Strength Yuu finally hops inside Real Yuu and lets Mato know what the heck is going on. The thing that makes Mato the most upset though is the fact that she is not really Black Rock Shooter (well in a sense). Yuu is trying very hard to get Mato out of the Other World despite the fact she put her there to begin with. This leads to Mato having a meltdown as the viewers are shown other people talking about Mato being a girl who focuses on the good and never complains. Mato tries to get Black Rock Shooter to stop beating up Real Yuu but suddenly Real Yuu loses her marbles too and starts really fighting back.

Photobucket

Oh snap for crazy time!

Saya runs outside to find Strength Yuu because Strength Yuu needed to be in the grass to connect with Real Yuu? Kidding. During this time Real Yuu reveals to Mato that she is REAL Yuu and escaped into this world to escape all the bitches from the real world. Meanwhile it is the next day in the real world and Strength Yuu and Mato are at Saya’s place. The entire school is very concerned about Mato being absent, especially when the police show up. This causes Yomi and Kagari to be overly concerned. Kagari eventually collapses over the pain in her heart. Yomi spends a great deal of time running all over the place making ugly faces. Strength Yuu then explains to Mato this world was created because girls have such trauma in their life, stuff like failing a math test and getting their periods in gym class. Everything was fine and dandy as the Other Girls would just fight it out. The Other Girls had no emotions. But one Real Yuu gives Strength Yuu a taste of what real emotions are like given how serious her problems are. At the same time a new girl Black Rock Shooter appears and starts REALLY killing the Other Girls. Strength Yuu is afraid to die because it will leave Real Yuu to deal with her insane life. Well and the fact that Real Yuu TOLD HER to stay alive. But eventually things get too rough for Real Yuu and she forces Strength Yuu to change places. As Real Yuu and Black Rock Shooter battle it out Yomi has a mental breakdown remembering all the good times she had with Mato. With that resolve Yomi….wakes up Dead Master? THE END!

I am trying to remember why people were so mad and disappointed with the Black Rock Shooter OVA. Really I am. Are people missing those….well day? Probably not because I am seeing a lot of people posting how AMAZING this show is.

That probably makes sense though. People either gush about things they love or complain about things they hate. Although I do love to hate on things in a loving manner. The point being if people are finding this show just MEH they probably aren’t posting as much as people who LOVE this show. And it sounds like many people are saying they LOVE the action in this show. Which I will give the show, the action IS good. Given how much of this show is devoted to the action and fighting it better be good. But if the story and reason behind the fighting makes no sense then the show is weak.

Photobucket

I know you are busy not connecting and all but can you tell us how Real Yuu knew about the Other World?

I think I might be beyond asking the obvious questions. Like what exactly Saya thought she was doing. Yuu was an extreme example of a sad and pathetic girl and she ran away to this Other World that she magically became area of. So instead of helping other girls learn to deal with their emotional problems she….messes people enough to make their alter in the Other World strong enough to protect Real Yuu. Yes it is tragic what happened to Real Yuu but let’s do some math. One real Yuu verses All the Girls Ever.

In conclusion maybe Saya should have been thinking of ways to rescue Real Yuu instead of making an army of crazies to protect her in case another crazy came to kill her.

Photobucket

Oh the bird is like Black Rock Shooter, taking in all the pain and then dying. I SEE NOW!...Still hate it.

Speaking of Mato….her back story was the biggest disappointment for me in regards to this episode. Mainly because there was no back story. I thought the only thing that could save this show was the fact that Mato was an unreliable narrator and in her past she had some DEEP trauma that caused Black Rock Shooter go on a crazy spree. That maybe her real best friend died and Strength Yuu filled the void to keep her from going insane. Or maybe the real trauma started when she read the stupid bird book. I mean how traumatizing is it that the bird DIES?! Maybe Kid Mato never finished reading the book and doesn’t know the bird is okay!

But no folks. None of that happened. The reason why Black Rock Shooter is so kill happy in the Other World is….because Mato is a good person. I will let you digest that for a minute. Take a moment to think about that.

Photobucket

This the worse thing ever!

Mato…is a good person. She doesn’t want to be mad at people, she doesn’t want people to hate her, and overall she is a cheerful person who doesn’t talk about negative things. And this somehow HURTS her. Like wtf people. WTF. What is this show trying to teach girls? Oh if you think the best of people you will turn into an insane psycho person in another world? OH OKAY!

Photobucket

OH THE HORROR!

I do SOMEWHAT get what is going on. Or what is supposed to go on. Mato’s happy go lucky personality isn’t natural but forced. Well I don’t believe that but let’s pretend for a minute. All the stress that Mato puts on herself being all happy and cheerful and thinking the best of everyone made her go berserk in the other world. All that stress folks!

If this show was following its own logic that is what WOULD be going on. But what I think IS happening is Mato cares so much about other people she just wants to take away their pain and for everyone to be happy. Black Rock Shooter does take away that pain but doesn’t help them grow as people, something Mato wants them to do. Or at least that is what I think anyway. Who knows at this point.

Photobucket

Because everyone else loves sorrow?

What I am trying to say is….Mato has NOT suffered any crazy trauma in the real world. The characters in the other world take on the pain and suffering of the girls in the real world. If Mato’s only pain was trying to be a positive person and see the best in people I don’t see how Black Rock Shooter got activated. It’s not like Mato is Madoka and took on everyone else’s pain and that is what made her strong. Mato was simply being a nice, simple girl and that somehow equals crazy girl.

I think I am crazy for trying to formulate the thoughts I have in my head about Mato yet not coming close to explaining it properly. So let’s talk about something else. Oh Real Yuu is insane? Yes yes we know that. I get that she was hurt and such but how the heck did she learn of this Other World and decide HEY I want to be there instead of here? Strength Yuu is the one with power and can obviously connect with Real Yuu. So did Strength Yuu actually like this arrangement and wanted to be in the real world and that is why things went on as long as they did?

Photobucket

Maybe if Strength Yuu had told Kid Mato sooner about what Black Rock Shooter was doing this wouldn't have happened?

I am going to go out on a limb and say that Strength Yuu has not been having fun in this real world. She was scared at knowing/sharing Real Yuu’s emotions and to go from a world with just fighting to a world with…reality must have been hard for her. I don’t know what else Strength Yuu could have done. Mato is insane, Saya is insaner, and Strength Yuu would have driven herself insane trying to stay alive to protect Real Yuu. So maybe this worked out the best it could for her.

Photobucket

Wait aren't Saya and Real Yuu OLDER than Mato?

A GLARING problem with this show is the timeline. Like a huge problem unless Mato is not the correct age either. Saya is older than Mato. Strength Yuu has not aged. But in the Other World Strength Yuu was hiding because Black Rock Shooter emerged as some crazy new opponent. I do not know how old Saya was when Real Yuu went byebye nor how old Mato was but I am going to out on a limb and say at the very LEAST (and I am being super generous here) that a 8 year old Mato would not feel that much pressure to be perfect and loving towards everyone. Again not sure how old Saya is but I am guessing one needs SOME college to counsel kids at school. So the number is probably closer to Mato being FOUR at the time of the great Strength/Yuu switch. HMM FOLKS!

Photobucket

Being 4 was really tough for Mato....

This might seem like a minor detail and MAYBE it will get explained next week…in the last episode. But I doubt it will. And it really isn’t a minor detail. It is like this show has no backbone, a solid idea on what is going on and hopes that the audience focuses on young girls fighting and losing their minds. Who needs to focus on the plot when Black Rock Shooter is turned into a fly swatter?

Oh and Yomi got better. And cried. Because it hurt remembering Mato. This makes Dead Master wake up for some reason. I have no idea where this show is going. Apparently in this world it is okay to beat people to a pulp but killing them is wrong. I don’t know people…maybe I will go watch The River again to see something that makes no sense and is AWESOME in it’s ability to make me laugh.

Black Rock Shooter episode 6: Oh....so...yeah

SO SLEEPY! Stay open eyeballs.

Photobucket

Arms may or may not be overrated.

Time for reading! Black Rock Shooter episode 6 spoilers and suchies. And yawns. So much sleepies.

Photobucket

Wake up Mato. Things are bad Mato. Want some ice cream Mato?

Episode Summary: Yuu can’t seem to wake up Mato no matter how many times she says her name in the most annoying voice ever. Inside the Other World (or Black Rock Shooter) Mato begins to freak out and scream in pain. During one of the many battles in this episode Black Saw Gold and Black Rock Shooter take turns cutting off the other’s arm. Black Rock Shooter hooks Black Gold Saw’s weapon to her stump while Black Saw Gold tries to escape. Strength is seen taking away Dead Master’s body rather quietly. Yomi wakes up and wonders where the heck all her hair went. After saying Mato’s name 12983 times Yuu drags Mato to Saya’s house. Yuu is quickly slapped and Saya tries to kill Mato. Apparently Saya is a good guy and Black Rock Shooter is ruining everything. Saya and her crazy head shaking self explain that the other world is necessary for HER. That she was making the girls…upset on purpose to protect her.

There is some more fighting, with Black Rock Shooter becoming more and more amazing as she is smushed. Saya says that she has to protect the Other World, to protect her and that her (Saya’s) well-being doesn’t matter. She is going to connect with Black Saw Gold and help free Mato. Saya tries her best to connect with Mato who is inside Black Rock Shooter. As this fight is going on Saya thinks back to that girl. When Saya was younger Yuu (?? XO) was being teased pretty bad in school. Saya took her under her wing and was basically her only friend. Yuu was experiencing a rough time at home and was teased at school. She often spoke of another world where a girl would take on her pain but Saya didn’t take her seriously. One night Yuu’s house burns to the ground and Saya runs to see if Yuu is okay. In her head she thinks Yuu set the fire and apparently it is written all over her face. Yuu gets depressed and decides that she is going to go to the Other World permanently and wants Saya to help her.

Photobucket

I'll make my own arm crazy!

While all this flashback is going on Saya tries to connect with Mato. While Black Rock Shooter seems to not be as insane she eventually loses her mind again and full on attacks. Before Black Rook Shooter can finish off Black Gold Saw Strength appears and rescues her. Saya wakes up and Yuu says that girl forgave Saya a long time ago. APPARENTLY this reveals that Yuu in the real world is really Strength and Strength in the Other World is Yuu. Mato has decided this is all her fault and she has to stop it, while Yuu and Black Rock Shooter go at it. Back in the real world Yomi goes to school like nothing is wrong and this bothers Kagari. Yomi deletes Mato from her phone and goes on with her life. THE END!

When I write my episode reviews and what not I try to stay away from the forums and what not until I am finished. I do want other people’s perspectives and what not I don’t want to come across as all knowing when in fact I didn’t know and it took someone else for me to realize what was going on. I rather type my confused feelings, read about other people’s opinions, and next week go WELL APPARENTLY about what issue I was confused about.

Photobucket

What exactly are we understanding here folks?

But not this week folks. See this week I thought episode 6 was so….special I wasn’t even going to blog it. Or if I did it would be a sarcastic attack about how stu…..I mean special the show is. I realizes though I had no idea what really was going on and nothing I would write could make sense to the average person (you know, people who have no idea why they are still watching this show). So off to the internets I went in search of an answer. Or people who felt the same way about this episode that I did.

Since I don’t want to be a total copycat and want to give credit where credit is due here is the best explanation on WTF we just watched during episode 6. From MyAnimeList here is 1idd0kun to tell us exactly what is going on!

“Here's an explanation of the plot:

Yuu is trapped in the Underworld.

STR is trapped in the Real World.

Mato is suppressing some issues from her past, so BRS is getting more and more violent and stronger. BRS is set out to destroy the Underworld.

Saya connects with BGS in order to protect Yuu in the Underworld.

Saya tries to strengthen other avatars (by messing up with the real persons' feelings) so that these can be a match to try and stop BRS from destroying the Underworld.

Everything backfired when not even fully powered Dead Master could deal with BRS, and due to Mato merging with BRS and going Insane now everything seems lost.”

Thank you 1idd0kun! Because seriously 75 percent of that went over my head. At first I thought they were making all this stuff up. Then I realized…either I am just slow or this person is gifted.

Either way this show is a piece of crap. Of course all I am seeing are people praising this show, calling in the show of the season, and saying how each week things get better and better. Um no, when Yomi lost her mind that was the best part of the show and I say that knowing I say that meanly. XD

Photobucket

I am going to rescue THAT GIRL!

Is there a reason why Saya couldn’t say Yuu’s name? Too painful? Forget it over time? Because that was annoying. I am protecting THAT GIRL indeed. It is almost like the writers want you to be confused or something.

Photobucket

You know what is amazing? That Saya became a student counselor for the solo purpose of protecting one girl by making everyone else crazy. SO HEALTHY!

I did enjoy Saya abusing Yomi and Mato. Because that makes sense, making Saya do more violent things to these girls while trying to show us that Saya was just trying to help all along. Oh okay she is a good person…who is running around slapping and strangling people still.

Photobucket

.....So go live with Saya and call it a day?

But yes folks. Saya was just trying to help the real Yuu. Who trapped herself in the Other World. So this glaring and anger issue last week was about what? About confusing the viewers yet again? Strength Yuu is bringing the girls to Saya, knows what Saya is trying to do, and still gets mad at her in the midst of this all. I see there.

Photobucket

Do I even want to know?

I think I might have missed the part about why all the kids were picking on Real Yuu. I mean I really missed why Real Yuu was walking around in her swimsuit but why were the kids bullying her? Loser parents usually don’t need a reason to be loser parents so that part I get. But were the kids just picking on her just because? Hate kids. Also I would have thought being friends with Saya would have given Real Yuu a little more street cred and made the kids back off a little.

I sorta don’t blame Saya for thinking that Real Yuu burnt the house down. Real Yuu had gone through a lot and while she appeared to be a tough girl she was at her limit. And I don’t think Saya was blaming Real Yuu either. So that sad little smile made no sense. But I guess no one wants to be blamed for setting a house on fire. Did the parents die? Apparently I missed a lot.

Photobucket

Where did this important piece o information come from?

So…..um……who told Real Yuu about the other world? Someone had to have told her. Did Strength visit her in the middle of the night? Did Yuu just really believe in something she thought was a dream? It is one thing to pretend that someone else is taking on your pain for you but it is another to be well aware of this world and trap yourself in it on purpose. So how did Real Yuu find out this insane information? I am not going to question why Saya agreed to go along with this insane plan. Because that would be silly. Stay at my house or go live in a crazy Other World.

Photobucket

Human....okay we will go with that...

I do wonder what happened between Saya and Strength Yuu during all these years. Saya obviously doesn’t view them as the same person so do they not have much interaction? One would think Strength Yuu would want to go back to her own world. Or maybe not. Still wondering why Saya is protecting Real Yuu and not trying to get her back home.

This leads me up to the biggest WTF of the whole show: Everything is a lie. Mato has not been friends with ANY Yuu since kindergarten, Mato is obviously the most damage girl, and nothing we are being told is the truth. It is hard to watch a show knowing that everything is a lie and yet there has been no real clues to the lie. Okay yes Strength Yuu had no shadow but I am talking about Mato.

Photobucket

Oh crap I am floating around naked in some weird color world in anime show? Things can't be good for me.

Mato started off the happy go lucky kid. Got my friend Yuu in my back pocket, going to try out for the basketball team, and I have my handy dandy BIRD BOOK to keep me company. And while everyone around her was slowly slipping into insanity it was Mato trying to keep them glued together. Like yeah Mom you suck! Kagari is insane. It will be okay Kohata. Um Yomi…things will be okay? That kind of stuff.

Photobucket

OH NO EVERYTHING SUCKS!!! Wait how did I get stuck here?

So at what part of the show was I the viewer supposed to guess that Mato really was just pretending to have a friend named Yuu and really had some crazy stuff go on in her life. Because I really thought Black Rock Shooter was helping the girls out. I thought that Mato had a good point, that the girls should be able to handle such small emotional issues on their own and not rely on other people. But it turns out that Mato had already lost her marbles and Black Rock Shooter was probably not killing those girls to help them.

Well I don’t know about that. But Mato didn’t give her BE STRONG speech until last episode. So Black Rock Shooter wasn’t following that line of thinking. But Black Rock Shooter did appear to want to rescue Yomi at one point and not kill her. I just don’t know what is going on. I think I liked things better when I thought Black Rock Shooter was trying to help the real girls by killing off the fake ones but now people think Black Rock Shooter is just insane.

Photobucket

Yomi is happy? MY LIFE IS HORRIBLE!

Speaking on insane people….Kagari. What a bitch. Yes Yomi had a bit of a meltdown in class. Of course a very small meltdown. Here in America kids seem to lose their minds and shoot up the entire school. Yomi just gave out hair bracelets and gave herself a new hairdo. In the grand scheme of things not too big of a deal. But after seeing Real Yuu and her rice/pencil eraser lunch maybe I am wrong. The point is Kagari has not been CURED. She is still evil. Yes she can forget someone but DAMN. She is cold hearted, like she wanted Yomi to be socially crippled from her trauma.

So here is to hoping that Kagari gets hit by a car for real.

In conclusion Mato is trapped in the Other World because she is actually the insane one, Saya is the good guy who strangles people, and Yuu is actually Strength and everything is a lie. WEE FOR FUN!

Black Rock Shooter episode 5

DO NOT PLUCK YOUR EYEBROWS WHILE READING SUBTITLES! That is all folks.

Yes black Rock Shooter is that interesting folks. Next time I will just stick to filing my nails off or something.

Can we pretend that we never met Yomi?

Moving on other people having hair issues (spoiler alert YOMI) Black Rock Shooter episode 5 time. Can’t believe in 3 short episodes this hot mess will be over. I mean…spoilers for Yomi’s hair not getting tender, loving care.

Look how amazing I am!

Episode Summary: In the Other World Black Rock Shooter is…well shooting down Dead master’s army. When that doesn’t work Dead Master sends out her Skulls to finish of Black Rock Shooter. Black Saw Gold smirks and disappears into the green goo. Yuu and Mato go over to Case de Crazy (Yomi’s) house. The crazy must be catching because Yomi’s mom is like GO AWAY. Yomi skips out of the house like nothing happens and presents Yuu with a friendship bracelet too. Only to Yuu’s horror finds that it is made of Yomi’s hair. During art class Yomi decides to cut off more of her hair in the craziest manner possible. Mato begs her to stop and eventually her mother comes to take her home. The viewers then see everything in Yomi’s room destroyed and cut up. Everyone is talking about how much of a freak is and Mato is slowly getting pissed. Kagari decides to add her two cents and Mato slaps her out of frustration. Since everyone is on team Kagari this makes Mato seem crazy too. Yuu goes and accuses Ms. Saya of hurting Yomi. Ms. Saya does not deny this and defends her actions. Yuu leaves the school looking determined about something. Mato has her own freak out moment when she demands the Color Bird book has a better ending. Mato goes to see Ms. Saya as she is the beacon of good advice. She makes Mato some drug coffee which Mato almost drinks. Mato is very concerned about Yomi and Ms. Saya implies that the reason Yomi is suffering is because of Mato. So the logical conclusion is TO DIE. So Ms. Saya strangles Mato. JUST KIDDING. Mato does not feel the joke vibe and gets the hell out of dodge. Well after visiting the Art Club to see the creepy picture Yomi was working on. Apparently Yomi is broken.

The healing process!

Mato is thinking about how insane Yomi and Ms. Saga are during practice when she is hit in the head with a basketball. The basketball manager runs up to make sure Mato is okay. Mato is like where is Yuu? The basketball manager says who the heck is Yuu? Kohata comes by to confirm that this girl is the only basketball manager and has never heard of a girl named Yuu. Mato gets pretty upset at this revelation and runs out. She desperately tries to get to Yuu’s house, all the way haunted by the fact she can’t remember what Yuu looks like. When she reaches Yuu’s house…it is not a house but a walkway overlooking some water. Mato is about to have a mental breakdown when Yuu walks by HOW FUN! Mato doesn’t bother asking her what the heck is going on. Instead Yuu wants to know if Mato wants to save Yomi. Mato says of course. Yomi then explains that the Other World is real and that when your counter part is killed in that world you forget the pain you experience of this world. Yuu says if Mato wants to do that for Yomi. Mato says that things can’t that way, that talking things out is a better way to handle things. Yuu agrees to help and kisses Mato. This takes Mato to the Other World to see her counterpart (Black Rock Shooter) and Yomi’s other self (Dead Master). Then….Black Rock Shooter stabs Dead Master and her (BRS) eye starts to glow. Mato does not appreciate this experience while Yuu says this is the only way! THE END!

Really? Really people? Some of you out there thought this episode made sense and was good? Well…I guess to each their own but….wow.

Photobucket

Yeah your momma....is lovely...and we have to go now...BYE!

First off…DAMN MOMMA! Guess we know where Yomi gets her insane from. Great job blaming Mato there. You know, the girl who tried to rescue your daughter from Kagari the Needle Carver. Maybe if you had been doing some PARENTING Yomi wouldn’t be such a crazy girl now. Just saying.

Photobucket

INTO THE TRASH!

That hair bracelet….just no folks. No. Even if Yuu wasn’t….well whatever she is it would still be no. Mato should have said um Yomi my friend Yuu does not need hair bracelets. We are here to help you, not be dragged into your insanity. THANKS!

Photobucket

She is healed yet still a bitch. I see.

I am curious to what happened after the poor cookies were dropped on the floor. Horrible I know but we shall never know the fate to those cookies. :( But yeah. I get that once someone “dies” in the other world they lose the memory of what made them sane (or insane). However Kagari is sane now. And just watched a girl lose her marbles right in front of her eyes. Does the other world make you think this is normal behavior or something? Kagari should have told Mato of this new and “improved” Yomi.

Photobucket

You aren't my best friend forever so I will cut all my hair off!

Instead though we get to see the mental breakdown of a girl who can’t handle life’s most tiniest bumps. Yes I know junior high girls are dramatic but dear lord. X__X I am so glad I am not Mato. I would be like HOT DOG I got rid of the crazy girl Kagari. Instead Yomi is cutting her hair like an insane girl and painting emo paintings. I would hate to see what she would do if a boy broke up with her or her grandmother died. Maybe it is a good thing Black Rock Shooter is nearby to help her deal with her issues NOW so she is not an insane person later.

Photobucket

And then we find the nearest adult. SERIOUSLY!

Ms. Saya is the most obvious villain ever. If Yomi wasn’t already a few fries short of a happy meal she would have picked up on that already. But the other girls were quick to pick up on something being really, really wrong. Of course looking at the previews for next week Yuu might have already KNOWN this and Mato did get strangled by the woman. That is a big hint to things being terribly wrong.

Photobucket

Hey boys did you see the non Yuu shadow during this scene? Didn't think so.

So…yeah. Yuu not existing….um did I blink or something? Was that EVER hinted at during the first 4 episodes? No I don’t think so. Now is this show going to rewrite history and show us that Yuu never existed? If that is the way things go down of course. But still…yeah folks. Just walking along and BAM Yuu doesn’t exist. Because hints and foreshadowing are for losers!

Photobucket

Not in Kansas are we?

I love how Mato just ran with the worse case scenario though. She did just get hit in the head with a basketball (and was bleeding CENSORS). OH SNAP! Maybe this is all a dream folks. Dorothy…I mean Mato will wake up and Yuu will exist to everyone and Yomi will only be halfway insane. I take it back, this show is amazing and makes total sense. Time to pack it up and go home.

Photobucket

Well maybe she was already going that way...

In the event this is NOT a dream Mato did kind of go insane folks. Maybe she just assumed that everything that has been happening to her since entering junior high is insane and she just leaps to the logic conclusion. Gotta find Yuu because she doesn’t exist.

Only when she does find Yuu she never mentions that small fact. Not oh thank God I thought everyone was insane. No no Yuu and her shadowless self start to tell Mato about how the Other World DOES exist and the only way to save Yomi is to kill her. At this point I would walk away slowly and throw the damn bird book away. Not sure what the bird book has to do with this current insanity but it’s a start okay?

Photobucket

Everything is a lie!

Now…here is my problem folks. Yuu seems to have a lot of knowledge of the Other World. She even sends Mato there and tells her about how to REALLY save Yomi. And in the previews it looks like Yuu was once friends with Ms. Saya, when she was in junior high. If Yuu is familiar with the Other World she should know that Ms. Saya is Black Gold Saw. We saw Strength getting rid of the Kohata bodies. So……yeah why would Yuu send anyone Ms. Saya’s way? Shouldn’t she be like nope let’s not talk to this one folks.

That is a big problem for me. A huge problem. Yuu has been shown to be a normal person seeking out Ms. Saya’s advice, having a counter part in the Other World, and pretty freaked out when people are…being insane. But now we are to believe she is really connected to Strength on a level that lets her come and go between worlds? How am I as a viewer supposed to accept such inconsistencies? Such a huge character change? Also wouldn’t it be hilarious if Yomi is jealous of Yuu and Yuu was never really there?!

Photobucket

Yet you brought the girls to her?

It could be explained away by simply saying that Saya has aged while Yuu is still a young girl. Maybe Yuu didn’t recognize her. But that would be too easy right? With all the other magical elements going on with this show I doubt that Yuu was unaware of Saya. Who knows what is really going on though. Ms. Saya seems to want to drag girls into the Other World while Yuu….wants to coach basketball.

Photobucket

Err...so...yeah. Yomi is cured yay?!

Or maybe Mato and Black Rock Shooter into one person. Like Yuu is with Strength. Maybe. Who knows. I do know that Mato was quick to believe in this crazy. Not sure what Yuu was trying to accomplish. She was all like you have to kill Yomi to heal her. When Mato doesn’t agree with that thinking (which is the correct thinking, work through your problems ladies!) Yuu agrees to help Mato help Yomi in a different way. Which seems to involve…killing Yomi. WEEEE!

Photobucket

Talking out problems? Surely that is crazy talk.

Yeah folks. Not sure what is going on with this amazing show. What can we expect from a show that is based on just a song? I don’t think I like this new angle they are taking with Yuu. And Yomi wasn’t as crazy this episode. Somehow I will endure though.
