What? It’s Fall already? You mean it is only 80 degrees outside in Florida today and not 99? Shoot it must be Fall. Quick set up the Christmas trees and bake the gingerbread cookies. Has all the Christmas Shopping been done yet?
Oh…you mean that is WINTER stuff? Hmm what other season does Florida have? I kid I kid. We have 4 seasons just like everyone else. Warm, hot, hot and rainy, and MOG IT IS 50 DEGREES WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE! And in between the hot and rainy and MOG there is Fall. Time to search the New Fall Anime 2014 list to see what looks good. And folks…there was a lot of looking. A lot of second looking. A lot of MOG is there anything good this season? I have seen that mentioned a few times during my brief research into internet land. This season of anime looks pretty generic and typical. That or I am turning into an old lady who can’t appreciate shows on libraries and sega saturns. But I have to watch SOMETHING right? So here are all of my picks that ended up on the Yes/Maybe List. Mostly maybe. How will this season turn out for me folks? Guess we will have to find out.
Denki-gai no Honya-san
Synopsis: Umio is a shy kid who just started his part time job at a manga store smack dab in the middle of the city. But his lifestyle isn't as glamorous as the neon lights that illuminate the city. Umio's closest friends are his co-workers who are all unique characters, to say the least, and although they're nice people, they have their quirks. They are a tight knit group of friends, have nicknames for each other and spend their weekends inside, sheltered from the extravagant scene happening on the outside.
Thoughts: Well good thing I am starting off this season already behind. This show….I really don’t know. I usually like my anime a lot more people like. Define and effort. Not that there isn’t effort made in all anime. This just comes across as casual. I don’t know, I don’t think I am explaining it well. It usually not the kind of art I go for anyway. Since I am fond of anime, manga, and shopping this seems like a nice little show. Maybe. New guy trying to fit in with a bunch of misfits? I hope it doesn’t turn into him judging everyone or being the “normal” one of the bunch. Nor do I want it to be one slap stick thing after another. People can be quirky without being over the top yes? I guess I will…wait no minutes to see on this anime haha! XD

Cross Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo
Synopsis: Due to humanity obtaining the data technology that has evolved to a great amount—called "Mana"—the human race is able to subjugate all wars, starvation, pollution, and other problems on Earth by using its power, which is similar to magic. Earth has obtained the utopia of complete peace and no wants. First princess of the Misurugi Empire, Angelize. As with everyone else, she also had no wants or worries. She was celebrated by the people of the empire, and was supposed to wear the crown. However, she realizes the shocking truth that she is a Norma. "Norma": An irregular existence that cannot use Mana, and are treated as heretics and as "things" rather than people.
Having everything stolen from her, she isolates herself on a remote island.
What was waiting for her there was a fateful meeting with a group of Norma girls who know nothing but battle. The girls spend their days riding humanoid robot weapons called "Paramails" hunting giant dragons that have come from another dimension to invade. Having her name taken from her, what will soldier Ange see at the end of the fight? What can she believe in? What will she obtain? The story of a single girl's fortitude starts now.
Thoughts: HMM! I had a stronger feeling on this show before I saw the entire outfit Angelize was wearing. I know it is asking a lot of the world, to consider how a woman moves before putting her in an outfit that would be impossible to move in on a good day, let alone flying on a mecha while trying to fight baddies. Of course this is an ongoing issue with super heroes and what not for females. Because we exist to be looked at you know.
Putting that aside though it sounds…interesting. A world where everyone gains peace by having super powers. And those who don’t have super powers are genetically changed into Queerrats so in the future Christina can be scarred for life. Oh sorry lost my train of thought there. But yeah. Funny how the ones who have been cast aside are fighting for everyone else. Lala we have all these magical powers and we aren’t paying attention to the giant dragons who are trying to kill us all. So this show could go either way. It terms of insanity or good I suppose. Either way I will fight evil in jeans thank you very much.

Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de
Synopsis: Half a year ago, the four members of a literature club, as well as the elementary school niece of their faculty adviser, were bestowed with supernatural powers. The boy in the club, Ando Jurai, became able to produce black flames. The girls acquired a variety of powerful abilities: Tomoyo could slow, speed, or stop time, Hatoko could control the five elements (earth, water, fire, wind, light), little Chifuyu could create things, and Sayumi could repair objects or heal living things. However, since they gained these powers, nothing has really changed in their everyday life. Why have they been given these powers in the first place? Will the heroic fantasy life they imagined these powers would bring ever actually arrive?
Thoughts: Okay so out of all the shows I looked up this season this sounded pretty cute. And unique. Most shows are all about the magical powers and things changing forever. Like peace out old best friends, I got to hang out with my new super friends and fight aliens and such. Just an ordinary day until everything changed forever. Only these kids got life changing powers…and nothing happened. Anime and manga have LIED to them. LIED! Where is their adventure? The mysterious handsome strangers? Why are they in math class and not fighting aliens? These kids want answers…or they are going to start making mayhem themselves to keep from being bored. Like oppies tried to practice my powers and I set the school on fire. Sounds fun to watch.

Shirobako
Synopsis: Five girls chase their dreams. The story revolves around the everyday troubles and hardships that occur when working in the anime industry, and the results and conflicts that happen day-to-day among the group of girls.
Thoughts: This show……what is up with all these shows and wanting to show everyone how the manga, anime, and voice acting profession really works? Seems to run in cycles, like how American TV loves crime and lawyer shows now. So far most of these behind the scene shows have had men at the forefront with women nowhere to been seen or as background characters. IN reality women have to make up a big part of the industry! Heck a lot of female voice actresses do male voices too. So I figured I should see the female side of things. The fluffy side of course. Because working 20 hours a day 6 days a week having no social life would probably not reflect good on the industry. But maybe one 20 hour work day here and there and a slightly annoying coworker…that could work. So I shall give this show a whirl..because no many are getting a whirl this time around. X___X
