Hello fans of Duffy, stuffed bears, and overall cute things. Welcome to the year 2014. It is the time of year to start anew. Or get caught up on things you should have done last year. Mom has been busy running around doing lots of things so I decided to help out by taking down some Christmas ornaments. Mom does have a lot of them. While I was working I found not everyone is happy that it is the year 2014.

Oh there he is. Why is he crying in the corner.....

Lucky Duffy is sad. :( He thinks that mom isn't going to like him anymore because he is the 2013 bear. That she is already talking about getting the new 2014 predressed bear.

Don't be sad Lucky Duffy. Mom loves all of us Duffys. While not everyone goes on trips we are special in different ways. You will be special because you are the first dated bear, in celebration of when she and dad first got annual passes. No other bear can say that. You represent an entire year of fun. Yay Lucky Duffy, the first annual pass bear!

Feeling better Lucky Duffy? Lets play with some of the Cars figurines. I will always be around to play with you know. With so many Duffys in this family how can you ever be lonely?

Time to watch some TV. Errr mom is watching zombie movies so I am not sure if that will make you feel better or not...

New Anime Series! Toaru Hikushi e no Koiuta episode 1

Anime post number 6 tonight weee! A long week at work awaits me sadly. Working Saturdays is just so...rarw on many levels. Unless it is slow. Then it is prime Pokemon training time. I have temporarily put shiny Eevee breeding on hold to "catch them all". Or catch them most. You know, when customers aren't being so rude and coming in, expecting me to wait on them and such. What do they think this is, a business? Gosh.

So what is post number 6 of the night? The new anime series Toaru Hikushi e no Koiuta. Episode 1 weee! Spoilers for angry Princes and the people who say they are their sisters. Oh and planes. Lots and lots of planes.

Episode Summary: The series starts off with a glorious air battle. Old fashion airplanes are flying about and people are getting shot out of the sky. Fly planes fly. One particular pilot does some crazy backwards move to avoid being squished by two other planes. Said pilot gets all passionate and says he is going to stop it, from anyone else being killed again. Then the episode seems to go back in time, before this battle. It appears to be an important ceremony and new pilot cadets are being promoted or something. It seems to be a rather big deal. All the kids look nervous and what not. The blond who was doing air tricks earlier (later?) is named Carl and his sister Ariel is also among the new cadets. Before the ceremony kicks off all the kids say goodbye to their parents as I guess they are going on a long term mission. Ariel seems very upset while Carl doesn't seem to want the attention. Carl does say goodbye to his father eventually and Dad says that the mom would be proud of him. The kids then go to their old fashion looking planes as Ariel says they have to come home no matter what. They get into the plane, Carl the pilot and Ariel the gunner. Everyone takes off and heads towards the ceremony site. Some priestess looking girl named Nina gives a very important speech. War, terrible war. Oh wait that's something else. No this speech involves a drop of water and what I think is land? A landmark? One day the water stopped dripping and the..entity in question said to bring back the water, even at the expense of itself. So the entity was broken into many pieces and the water returned. But now humans want to find the beginning of everything and are traveling to the End of the Sky, on the floating island Isla. The anchors on Isla are ripped away and it floats near the crowd. The pilots then fly overhead and throw confetti. Carl notices that one gunner is missing but then focuses his attention on Nina and how he hates her. He is about to do something stupid when Ariel expresses her fears again about them coming home. Carl says they will and they wait their turn to land on the island.

Flying high in the sky.

A gust of wind causes Carl to spin out of control and Ariel talks him to safety. On land Ariel makes fun of Carl and they argue who is older. Another plan is seen having trouble landing. Sensing that plane pilot is going to be made fun of Carl goes to tell the pilot by no big deal man. Only that pilot (Ignacio) is a complete jerk and walks away. Later the rich cadets are driven to their barracks while the poor ones have to walk to theirs. Life might be unfair but the place looks nice. Carl seems to have decent enough neighbors but they might hate him as he is directly across from Ariel and they are bickering back and forth from the window sills. Their neighbors note they might be in for an interesting ride. Carl is interrupted mid rant as he sees Ignacio under a tree. Ignacio sorta glares at him and walks away. Carl will not take that snub and runs out to yell at the boy. Carl is unable to locate Ignacio and he thinks to himself how he shouldn't even be here. Le sigh. Carl decides to explore the area when he stumbles across a girl with a broke down bike. Apparently she is beyond shy and can barely function. Carl fixes her bike and the girl squeak out that her name is Claire. Carl realizes that Claire is a pilot too, probably the missing gunner. He offers to take her back to her section (the rich one) as she shouldn't travel alone at night. He bikes along and Claire sees happy, even pretends to fly as the clouds surround them. It is a beautiful moment until Carl crashes because the clouds were hiding debris and the lake. The two laugh and Carl continues to take Claire home. They are greeted by super serious guards who are like halt who goes there? Claire produces her paper work while Carl is like dude I was just dropping her off. Claire says goodbye and Carl practically dances home in excitement. Life is a new, fun adventure. Well except the part where future Carl says the island never returns and the world is cruel. THE END!

Put your assumptions aside when you see this old looking planes that have a high level of mobility.

Well...that went differently than what I was expecting. Because I expect things from shows I have yet to seen. That is the Tenchi way. I thought we were going to see that Carl was actually the prince..of something. Maybe he got shot down and was hiding out in this country. Silly me for assuming things.

Looks like this journey isn't going to end in rainbows and kisses.

I mean...I could be wrong. Perhaps that opening scene isn't in the future. Maybe that has already happened. Maybe Carl got shot down and is hiding out in enemy territory. That this family of his isn't his because I can't spell so I went to myanimelist and saw that they have different last names. So he could still be a Prince. And maybe he was angry during the battle because of his mom who apparently is dead. But...I doubt that. Especially since the dead mom might be from his adopted family. Carl doesn't seem that great at flying now. No no, the battle in the first few minutes is in the future. So for now we will just operate under the notion that Carl will become awesome and a deal of his past has yet to be explained. Gosh you would think this was episode 1 or something.

So after all the nifty air tricks and battle we zoom to the past. Hello characters. I know that miss important character Nina priestess was trying to say something …important. But apparently I didn't follow it well enough. All countries and religions have their own version of how things come into being. Maybe some people view what I believe as a long winded confusing speech too. Maybe (hopefully) at the end of the day it won't really matter. It was just a story and the point that does matter is that the flying island...Isla is going to find The End of the Sky. Put aside those water droplets. We are going to find the truth. Because the world is flat.

Our main character Carl (the prince I assume) is among the sea of other pilot cadet people. Nothing really stands out about him yet. Just that his sister will maybe be his gunner. And that she seems way more nervous about this employment than he is. I liked seeing varying degrees of emotions with the kids. Some were upset. Some were excited. Ariel was all over the place. It doesn't look like service was mandatory as there were two other sisters that were only slightly older. I am sure some of the nobles join to make their families proud and the poor ones join out of a sense of duty or being poor. In any event there wasn't a total doom cloud in the air. This seems to be a good thing for all. Yay planes! They are going on a super fun adventure and it will be a great time. Until it goes horribly wrong.

X___X Hello there rage face....

While this was episode one we did learn a few things about Carl this episode. One he does not stay in the house. I kid I kid....maybe. Okay he seems to have a very close/teasing relationship with Ariel who is not his biological sister. It looks like from the opening song he has been around her for a long time though. It is unknown at this point if they have....a love relationship? It doesn't look like it on Carl's part. I hope it keeps up that way, tis refreshing. Carl does not seem to like Nina. Almost blew her out of the sky. I am sure that is a big no no. Like um she looks rather important, that is probably a bad idea. I am guessing that Nina is on the opposite “side” as Carl and he sees her as the enemy as she is in a position of power? Maybe she killed his mom? With some orders that Carl doesn't agree with. For now...Carl wants to kill her despite going on a mission she has a hand in. We also learned that Carl is still a newbie. Yes Carl, there are sudden gusts of wind in the sky.

Another weird thing we learned this episode is that these kids don't all known each other. Not yet anyway. It looks like they all had some sort of basic training else where. I say that because no knew each other yet all managed to fly planes. Maybe the kids who made it past basic were all brought here. Or maybe they aren't even really cadets, more like fresh, super green soldiers all going on a mission together. Carl will be surrounded by nice, lovely friends that will eventually die in plane accidents. The only not so nice one seems to be Ignacio. Like how dare you ignore me, I will focus only on you and not the other decent people that seem to be around me.

So they made you join the military?

After not finding Ignacio Carl took a few moments to collect himself while on his new flying island home. There must be magic afoot if an island can fly and the other planes look beyond old. Apparently Carl doesn't want to be here ya'll. He didn't get to go into great detail because he ran into Claire but I am sure a Prince without his Kingdom is a bit sad. But we are going to put that aside for now because look there is a Claire. Lets talk about..Claire for a minute. I am sure somewhere out there, beneath the pale moonlight...there is someone who finds Claire endearing. I find her borderline annoying. I get that people are shy and that some woman have had truly awful experiences around men. Well then maybe you shouldn't join the military if being around men or other people scares you so much. Conversations with strangers can be uncomfortable but Claire takes it to a whole notha' level. Just saying Claire. I must have the grumpies. I am sure you are a nice girl. Just...don't die when a stranger approaches you. It will be okay.

Despite being...almost completely unable to talk Carl must find Claire more than acceptable. Lets just fix this bike, because this a Japanese anime and bikes are a must, even on a floating military island and walk a lady home because danger lurks around every corner on this military island. I mean..it was chained up and apparently looked after. But I guess there still could be...flying bears and stuff. XD Any excuse for Carl to spend time with Claire. I think it was kinda cute. Especially sailing through those clouds, Claire not being spazzy, and having a great time. Savor that moment. Even falling in the water or that guard being a jerk can't get Carl down. He is in love. *insert Disney princess music here*

I am going to guess that there in fact are humans there...and won't be so friendly.

And that's about it for this little episode. Carl puts aside that rude guard's behavior. I am getting a feeling that this series will be about class issues. Obviously. Rich kids driven to their barracks and poor people don't have the papers to get in the gate. But Carl and Claire will break the social norms, GO LOVE! So Carl is happy for now despite not wanting to be there. A journey into the unknown. What a fun adventure it will be. Only...not really. It seems that opening scene IS the future. Future Carl makes the mission sound bleak. The island isn't making it back home folks. Carl screaming at the other planes that no more people will die leads me to believe that at least a few people we met in this episode will die eventually. But why? What is at the “edge” of the world? And why will this lead to war? Carl's people? Guess we will have to wait to find out yes?

New Anime Series! Hamatora episode 1

Post number 5 of the night. I am going to reward myself with some ice cream. Since, you know, currently it is not freezing cold outside. That might change tomorrow or in the next hour. That polar vortex thing was crazy yes? I know since I live in Florida I didn't get hit that hard or suffer that much. But we Florida people aren't equipped for 19 degree weather. Layer? What layers? How does one wear more than one pair of socks at a time? I can't wear gloves the entire time at work. Just...just no. I will eat my ice cream for now in case there are more cold times to come.

The only thing you need to wear is a paper bag on your head. Not a school girl uniform!

What is up now besides cold weather? The new anime series Hamatora. You know, if the X-Men weren't quite so amazing and had more realistic proportioned bodies. This sounds like fun yes?

I am the main character, thus I am the one who is going to put all this together.

Episode Summary: A young man (Nice) calls his friend Murasaki. He is in the bank complaining the ATM won't give him whole 430 yen (or some small amount) and that he had to go inside. Murasaki starts going on and on about something deep and meaningful, the idea of knowing and what not. Murasaki asks what is taking so long and Nice doesn't know. A far away view shows that the bank is actually being held up. By the time Art (Mr. Policeman) and his partner pull up the other police officers say it was taken care of...by Nice who has now gotten his riches. Art seems amused. Nice and his female companion Hajime show up to a bar owned by Master. Hajime used some of his money to buy Hajime a burger and the rest is used to buy her milk. Nice is made fun of because he be poor. He asks if there were any jobs for him but mostly the talk is about how Nice owns nothing. Other people are introduced. Ratio and his clean cut self. Birthday seems a little crazy. Murasaki turns out to be Nice's partner and doesn't care about his (Nice's) problems. Koneko appears with not one but two cases. One is a big pay out to protect a safe and or open it. The other is a small payout to find out why a bunch of college girls are getting kidnapped. Murasaki says the obvious choice is the big pay out. Nice wants to help people so that makes him a chump and that is why he has no cash. Despite being partners Murasaki and Nice go on their own separate ways. Birthday and Ratio are going on a third case that involves protecting a college age girl. Nice goes to a college campus to find the friends of one of the kidnapped girls. Instead he finds a bunch of smiling, gossipy twits. They do manage to tell Nice that their friend quit her job recently but wasn't hurting for money. This pings some interest in Nice and he goes to some back door restaurant to talk to some joker about info. Only Nice can't even afford the game of clue let alone the intel price. Art shows up to pay the guy off and treats Nice to some food since the boy is starving. Nice thanks him as the client for his case is the police force. They often give the Minimum Holders jobs. Art seems okay with working with the Minimum Holders but tells Nice he has to pay him back for the clue money.

Elsewhere Murasaki has made it to case de rich. The safe is HUGE and if not opened with the correct code will destroy all the contents inside. The son seems distraught about the whole thing, as he thinks someone will attempt to steal it. In another part of town Birthday and Ratio are outside an apartment complex, guarding said college girl. Apparently there is a no eating policy in Ratio's car and Birthday is a special person. They attempt to have a serious discussion about eggs but Birthday continues to be special. All of this is interrupted when the car is thrown up against the building by some giant dude. Said giant dude then throws objects into the apartment building and confronts the girls they were watching. Giant dude asks for the code and the scared girl gives it to him. Baddie leaves and Ratio mourns over his car. They slowly take the girl back to the bar. Nice shows up and starts questioning the girl. Turns out the old man was sleeping with college girls, this one included and all the other kidnapped girls. Back at the house Murasaki tells the son about the dad and jailbaits having sex. The son is scarred for life and Murasaki learns that the father had a condition when he talked in his sleep. Nice starts to put things together and books it to the mansion. Murasaki barely gets the son and creepy maid out of harm's way before the giant dude from before starts throwing shit into the house. Sleep talking dad would say the combo in his sleep and I guess these baddies knew he was sleeping with college girls...I don't know. But this group of baddies put it together, started kidnapping the jailbaits in order to get the combo. The baddie huge dude throws things and Murasaki reveals he is a Minimum power too. Other baddie people move to help the big guy but Ratio and Birthday appear and use their Minimum power. Nice shows up at the mansion and the huge baddie says they should all work together. Nice is like um no I am not using my powers that way and defeats the baddie in 5 seconds....with sound? The cases are solved but the only thing that was in the safe was pervy magazines. Everyone seems to be happy. Art and one of his people talk later on if they should tell this little group that someone is out killing Minimum Holders. Instead dead Minimum person here. THE END!

Trying to be all deep about your friend having like 5 whole dollars to his name.

X___X That was a very...fast way to start a series. Like very fast. So many characters introduced at once. I am sure next time things will go at a slower pace. Like let's backtrack and give some back story. Back ya'll. For now we need to stand out about the other new shows. Start off with a bang, to draw viewers in. Just so many characters though.

Oh that horse head. That is what I would rob a bank with ya'll.

Our story starts off with Nice and Hajime at the bank trying to procure some cash. 460 yen I think? Less than 5 dollars. So right off the bat we know Nice (X___X that name) is poor and he takes care of Hajime for some reason. Relative or otherwise. On the phone Murasaki went on and on about something when Nice called to complain. About wants and needs and suffering and being aware of it. Like some sort of philosophy lesson. Nothing that will be important later, just something so the characters look well rounded, smart, and maybe a bit like Hipsters. This happened several times in the show so I think this will be a running theme. Also something that occurred would be this philosophy lesson going on and something comic would happen afterwords. Like oh Murasaki, I need my cash and this girl won't give it to me because the bank is being held up. Injustice.

Oh you guys...what am I going to do with you Minimum Holders? XD

Art (...I guess if people can name their kid North West people can be named Art....like from Saw) seems rather young to be a policeman, let alone someone in power. Animes either have really old looking people or everyone is forever 21. So who knows how old Art is. He does seem to know about Minimums. I don't know if everyone in this society does or just some people. He doesn't seem to be going after them which leads me to believe society doesn't fear them or doesn't know about them. But there was none of this RARW I will get you Spiderman crap and Nice didn't run away from the scene. As we see later Art and Nice might have a working relationship but more on that later. For now....um the bank is safe and the baddies were dressed as mascots. I see.

Can I borrow some time then?

Nice is part of a larger organization. Guess what it's called? Hamatora? You're right. How did you guess? Since this is only episode 1not much was explained. From what is looks like a bunch of Minimum people came together to form a semi group that might work together? I don't know, they all seem very different. Nice could only afford a burger and a glass of milk while Raito has (had) a nice car. So it looks like these missions don't get put in a group pot. Almost like Weiss Kretz minus the whole hot soccer guy and the whole we don't have a place to do business. This random mix of Minimum Holders has a secretary it seems (Koneko) but have to do business at one table in a bar. Oh the fun they will have.

Blowing gum, throwing super heavy things. Make sense yes?

Since the business structure was passed over today we can talk about other things. Like what a Minimum Holder is. Basically it is like being an X-Men with rules. You can't always be super. There must be certain conditions. The baddie needed to chew gum, Nice has to block out....other sounds I guess, and Birthday needs a tazer to have his powers work. Like are these seriously their names or a codename? So this “rare” ability gives people the power to do super things. From what I saw there are time limits on these things as Mr. Baddie was having a rough time after just a few minutes. I am sure much more will be explained later but for now this is what information we are working with.

Clearly I want the big payout because my name isn't Nice.

Speaking of work....Nice needs a job. So poor. Just so happens Koneko has two. We get kidnapped girls on one hand and guarding the safe on the other. Decisions decisions. Do we go for the money or do we help the most people? It appears Nice is...nice and his “partner” Murasaki is like show me the money. I mean we all need money. So it's hard to fault someone for that. Even if the “good guys” should step up and do the right thing. I guess I am faulting Murasaki a bit....Nice is just like no I will use my last pennies for Hajime and find missing girls for quarters. That's the right thing to do!! Ratio and Birthday were off on a third case that probably didn't pay them much too. Do I really have to write these names out? In true crime(ish) show fashion all three cases were connected but they didn't know that at the time. No no, let there be dissension in the ranks. No working together for these guys yet.

Why aren't you crying?!

Case 1 involved the missing girls. All college age. Nice went to one of the campuses to find some witnesses/friends. Nice needs to find some better friends of the kidnapped girls. I didn't catch is the girls were found or not. By the end of the show all three cases were solved but it was unclear if the girls were found or dead or returned shortly after the abduction. Because these ho bag friends were not acting concerned at all. Can I get some tears up in this place? Hot damn people. Nice did find out some interesting clues. Well not all on his own. Art came by to deal with a bribe so Nice can make even mess money on this case. But yes all the victims were college aged, recently quit their jobs, and not hurting for money. HMMM.

I bet the man died from a heart attack.

Case 2 involved a dead rich man. I don't think the man dying had anything to do with foul play but the man left behind a vault with a special code on it. Open it up the wrong way and the contents inside will be destroyed. The son ended up with just Murasaki who ended up not doing much of anything besides telling the son his father was a pervert and actually guarding the vault from someone else. Maybe next episode he will shine a bit more. He did help with the main baddie after all. But he didn't do any detective work this time around.

Yeah just some girl. I bet she doesn't have nice friends either.

Case 3 involved a young lady needing protection. Birthday and Ratio have this covered ya'll. Chill in Ratio's car, waiting for action. Got another philosophy story in. This time with eggs. XO But the serious almost moment was ruined by Birthday attempting to eat said nasty egg in the car. Don't eat in the car!! That's Ratio's baby. Or was. The little car that was. While protecting said girl the huge baddie came and basically threw the car and other objects at the apartment building. The girl was quick to give up the numbers too. Like um no I want to live, take what you want. Surely any money that Ratio and Birthday were going to get (to buy more eggs) is going towards fixing said apartment. They didn't protect her from anything. In fact it might have ended the same way if the boys weren't there. She would have given up the numbers and went on his merry way right? Since she actually knew the number? If not the money will them go towards a new car.

Err...by stopping you from kidnapping people?

Nice was able to put all the details and pieces together after everyone regrouped and he had a talk with a random informant and Art. Perhaps if I were Japanese I would have put 2 and 2 together about the girls basically being escorts. Like weeee we are college students and will sleep with this old man for money, even if he is boning my other friends. At least the son had enough sense to be scarred for like. That and his head maid was gross. But yeah, Nice figured out the girls quit their jobs for big daddy's money. Well I guess that Murasaki got the sleep talking thing. I mean that is a tiny clue to this case but it wasn't some microscopic event that only super amazing detectives who look like 8 year olds boy could solve. Still Nice is the one who got all the basic pieces together. Way to go Mr. Nice, solving three things at once. While taking the lowest paying job....Do you think the others will give him a kick back?

And then my eyes melted into my skull.

This all lead up to the baddie going to Case 2's house with the vault and Murasaki and Nice battling him. The baddie was a one trick pony. A build up to more powerful Minimum Holders later. Small fry. Murasaki was probably going to be okay on his own but don't want to take chances. Nice and his unexplained powers should come and save the day. Yeah not sure what that's about. Birthday has lighting power (sorta) while Ratio has several (or his hands are wearing steel enforced gloves?). But nice...put some headphones on and....listened to what? I know his power has to do with sound but it wasn't really fleshed out that much. Just BAM everything is a technocolor mess and he's ready won.

That's probably something these guys need to know...

And that's how our episode ends. All three cases solved. The safe had young school girl porn in it. Everyone is getting paid. What a silly bunch of people they are. A light hearted show? Not sure about that. Are the kidnapped girls okay? Oh and there is the little matter of Art investigating murders of other Minimum Holders. That might put a damper on the happy. For now this show seems decent enough except when people use their powers and my eyes protested at the whoosh! Oh and the many brief cut away scenes. Like BAM here is a 2 second shot of a case file. Way too fast for me to read and they happened a little too often for my taste. Other than that.....on to episode 2.

New Anime Series! Noragami episode 1

WEEEE! Post 4 of the night and finally a new anime for the Winter 2014 year. I have a few more series to watch but most of them are on the maybe/probably not list. I am not delusional enough to think that I can watch ALL those shows on my preview list, not given how late I have been...lately. No no, there will only be a few new shows I will blog about this season.

Welcome to spoiler alert! But since this came out last week I should be fine yes?

This show though, Noragami, seems to be safely on the yes will be blogging list. Episode 1 was enjoyable to watch. Poor gods, reckless girl, and monsters that need to be destroyed? Sign me up!

In like....200 more years!

Episode Summary: A young girl is sitting in class looking upset. It looks like people were taking exams and were stressed out. She must have been recently sick as they all gossip about the exams and how unfair it is that she gets special treatment. One student even goes as far to say the girl should kill herself. To make matters worse the girl sees a giant snake monster floating outside. She wishes for help and POOF Yato a...god appears. He smirks at the snake and transforms Tomone, the proper looking woman next time him, into a knife. He taunts the monster and sets to work killing him. Wish granted. After the battle Yato turns Tomone back into her human appearance. She's disgusted she smells like his hands and demands to be let free from their contract since he is a loser god that no one knows. He reluctantly lets the treasure go and she dances off, trash talking him. Dejected Yato sits on a bench. He just got done tagging a wall with a message for people with wishes to call him. He looks at his sad jar of money and thinks how he will never afford a temple or followers. Plus what can he do without a treasure? He has visions of a wonderful future in his head, he must make it happen. He sees a poster of a lost cat and smiles. Elsewhere a threesome of girls sees the poster too. Two girls comment on the name of the cat (something like Master) while the third girl Hiyori is busy downloading a martial art video. Her friends are shocked that Hiyori is into that as it would give her mom a heart attack. She starts going on and on about a certain martial artist and her friends ask her who she really likes that is obtainable. That is when she sees Yato looking for the cat. He darts across the street as he spies the furball. He is almost hit by a truck but Hiyori pushes him out of the way. She begins to chastises him when he looks behind her. The two friends are freaking out and the driver is calling an ambulance as Hiyori's body is in the street. Then Hiyori was talking to Yato passes out and wakes up in her family's hospital. Her doctor dad, 2 friends, and mom sigh on relief. Hiyori seems confused as she mentions a boy no one else saw but anime magic has kept her from getting hurt.

I was HIT by a bus losers!

Hiyori and her nonbroken bones are put to sleep but she wakes up at 2 am when she hears...well all the people in the hospital. Moaning about their sickness, wanting to die, and other sad things. Hiyori starts to worry and more creepies like the snake from earlier are around. But poof Yato is there, telling her she hears the Far Shore. Hiyori panics and calls the police and doesn't let up when Yato tries to explain he is a god. He says he didn't need her help but he just wanted to see if she was okay. He is offended she had no idea who he was but leaves because THEY are around. Hiyori is confused but seems to pass out again. She returns to school rather quickly as her friends note but gets very woozy still. She thinks there is something she had forgotten but can't put her finger on it. When they are walking home from school Hiyori sees the poster for the cat and knows if she finds it it will jog her memory. So off she goes, woozy and passy outy. Yato is also looking for the cat still and BAM he finds it. Only the cat is terrified and runs into Yato's arms. Yato realizes they are surrounded by eye monsters. He has no weapon so he runs like hell. He makes it to a clearing but then is attacked by a frog monster. Hiyori pushes Yato out of the way in time and finally remembers him. Yato can't help but notice her tail.....The Frog Monster keeps attacking and they dodge a bit. Then Hiyori pulls out some martial art moves and hurts the Frog Monster. Yato takes Hiyori and flies away. Once safe Hiyori is like is this real life? Yato points to her tail and she freaks out. He then points to her body laying on the ground and she freaks out more/passes out. When she wakes up Yato explains she is a Phantom now, like these monsters. More freaking out. Then he is like well you are like more of on the edge, living in the living world and the Far Shore. She wants him to cure her and he says um live with it. She begs him and as a god he is like...okay 5 yen please. He says they are not bonded together. The cat is returned to his owner and the little boy says thank you great Yato god. THE END!

Just another day in the life of Yato the amazing.

Well that was a nice way to start off the Winter 2014 anime season. For me anyway. The only yes on my list looks like it is going to be a good one. Of course it can only go downhill from here....details details. Let us be happy for the now.

But I wanted to be the main character!

Either I read the synopsis wrong or read too much into it because the bullied girl doesn't look like she is going to be important to the plot line. I thought she was going to be the main character. Watched the opening song all confused. She was just the opening number. To set the stage for this world. But yeah folks....what a crappy life she is having. X___X What asshole kids!!! Don't make fun of sick people. I think Hiyori and her are wearing different uniforms so no hope for a rescue there....

30 seconds into this show and we got a monster to defeat? On it!

But I like that this show started off with a bang. Like BAM time to get this show on the road. We ain't got time for scenic views of the street. Get to work Yato! You got creatures to fight. Show us how amazing this anime is going to be. XD So yeah I think I am going to like this show. Grabs you in without being too flashy.

Fine, I don't need you anyway!

Then...some comic relief. Already? Yato took out that monster with ease. With just a simple knife. But his weapon has a name and she is not happy. See it turns out that Yato isn't as cool as he thinks he is. He is just a low level god with barely any followers and no temple to speak of. Plus he is broke and smells like boy. So Tomone wanted out. Now it is curious that Yato let her out of the contract so easily. Perhaps she was going to be uncooperative anyway so Yato cut his loses? That maybe a god and treasure weapon don't have such a one sided master/slave relationship. I just thought Yato would have been a little more...upset about it. But apparently it happens all the time to Yato so you know. Bye Tomone, you were around for a month.

Surely this will drum up tons of business.

Yato brushed off being left again and got back to work. By work I mean he got a spray can and advertised his services on a park wall. Got a wish, call me. That is one step above prostitution I think. I hope as the series goes on we see him getting prank calls. But yes folks Yato is trying to make a name for himself. He wants to be a famous god. Since he is about as unfamous as you can get that might be a challenge. Especially without a treasure. It should be woe is Yato but not today. He's got a dream folks. He has a dream to see the lanterns. Or be the best god ever. He isn't going to let the little matter of reality stop him. He will learn his way to top god one 5 yen coin at a time. He just needs a job....a job....oh look time to locate a lost cat. Surely a weaponless god can handle that.

Clearly unacceptable.

In the land of the living and boring we meet our other main character. Hi Hiyori. Welcome to the crazy. She was walking around and having a normal life with her friends when her life changed forever. Wonder if we will see those friends again. Usually when someone starts having magical forces in their life or become magical themselves the old friends are quickly forgotten. Goodbye old life. But yes the friends were looking at the poor missing kitten poster while Hiyori was looking at some martial art thing. I guess that makes her different among her friends. Oh prim and proper Hiyori liking martial art? This cannot be!! You must be the image of a rich school girl. Those uniforms by the way are friggin ugly. Maybe not ugly but really, really unflattering. Like wearing a tent or something. Clearly unacceptable.

I'll save you hottie!

Hiyori's life took a dramatic turn when she saw Yato. Her friends were joking she needed more of an obtainable love interest and BAM a hottie walks by. Only that hottie has a death wish and is running across the street. Hiyori must have thought she was super Hiyori or she really values others more than herself. Because hello bus, welcome to my side. I thought for a second Hiyori had been doubled or split into two do to the fact she was talking to Hiyori over here when there was another her was..... over there. Maybe she is magical as she was up and walking a few days later. No broken bones. Just a little hit, the driver was breaking. You can all go back to your cars now guys, she's fine.

I'm trying to get some sleep here people.

After Hiyori was loved and kissed on by worried family and friends she got some much needed rest. For like an hour. Then it was all I hear dead people. But they were alive. Much like the girl taking her exams. Hiyori started to hear things. Like people's feelings or thoughts. A hospital is not the place you want to be to hear positive things. Well maybe the baby ward but still I be upset there too. XD Hiyori started to lose her mind when suddenly Yato appears to complete the insanity. I like how she immediately called 911. Or Japan 911. Like um no this is insanity, do not want please. Of course the police never did show up....such a comfort.

This poster helped Hiyori sorta remember Yato...because cats are better than men. Kidding kidding...maybe.

I am not sure how magical Yato is. Because Hiyori was having a hard time remembering him this time and the bus splat time. The other girls claim not to see him but that might be his powers again. But they said she darted in the road for no reason. Hmmmm can only magical and special people see him and remember him? He has been touching things in the human realm. Did the school exam student see the monster or was she upset over all those people picking on her? Hiyori could see him before she turned special....Anyway Yato just wanted to see how she was doing. Probably interested since there were two of her and what not. Move along, nothing to see here.

I love you kitty!

Day two of the cat hunt. Or more, depending how long Hiyori was in the hospital. Hiyori was going to find it. Great job mom, hanging up the posters. Next time look yourself cause I didn't see you and Yato searched everywhere and found it twice. The second time something else had found it first. A lot of something elses. They are watching us. Quick I have no weapon lets run little kitty! I thought it was cute how the cat jumped into Yato's arms. So cute. This town is crawling with monsters. Hello there giant frog. How are you today? Still no weapon so how about you hop along? Hopefully we find out more about this Phantom business next episode. Because they are everywhere in this town. Hopefully Saya doesn't live close by. Then everyone will die.

After some dizzy spells and broken gaps in her memory Hiyori decided she was going to find out what was going on. Take to the streets and find the cat. Only she found Yato and the poor kitty being attacked by the Frog Monster. Hiyori seems like the kind of person to jump into a situation and then realizes how dangerous things were later. I will save you, only so I can get answers later. Here check out my amazing martial art moves while you stand there is awe of my amazingness. Or my tail. Probably my tail right? I like how Hiyori got one good move in and Yato was like time to fly away. Like if you could do that why didn't you do that from the start? Okay it was more like jumping but still. Onward to safety.

That doesn't sound positive, fix me now!

After safety was reach Yato gave the shortest explanation in history on what is wrong with Hiyori. If I was her I would have demanded more answers. But it didn't look like Yato was in a talking mood anyway. Like um you have a tail, you are part human/part Phantom. What more is there to explain? Yato was a bit....contradictory though. He was talking about the Near Shore (where the living are) and the Far Share (which is basically the afterlife) in turns of being human. Then in the next second he was talking about Phantoms basically being emotions. Maybe after some people die instead of crossing over some people have negative energy that turn into Phantoms. You know, shaped like frogs and stuff. So these aren't really monsters, just human emotions running around feeding off the negative energy of living humans.

Yato can now afford.....to make one copy of one flyer advertising his services.

In the end Hiyori was able to make Yato promise to help her out. Because she has the cash folks. 5 yen. It is going to take Yato quite a long time to get his temple people. He has to follow the rules of the god though. Not sure how Yato is going to help Hiyori as he was quick to dismiss this situation as hopeless. But the second she pulled out the coin and wished for it...well anything is possible. Or will be possible once the poor god gets his hand on another weapon. Me thinks that Hiyori is going to be in for a special ride with this guy. YAY TAILS!
