Final Fantasy IV: 19 years later X_X

Photobucket

Someone alert the FABulous train. Two of their passengers got lost!

We interrupted our regularly scheduled Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan blog post for some breaking news: it's boring.

Okay that was a bit harsh. I haven't watched Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan episode 3 yet. But I am assume it is going to be boring because I am evil. But this weeks post is pushed back because I bought a game for my DS that didn't have the word Pokemon in it! That is breaking news people.

Of course one might argue that it is not really breaking news as Final Fantasy IV for the DS was released almost 2 years ago...but it is breaking news for me. YAY FOR NEW GAMES!

I remember like it was yesterday playing Final Fantasy IV for the Super Nintendo. The long hours battling, the latest game graphics, and of course the music. Then when I looked up how long yesterday really was I nearly died. 19 years ago?! X_X Seriously people?! I can remember playing this game so clearly with my little brother....and then I remember I have two little brothers and that yeah it has been that long.

Photobucket

Cutting edge people, cutting edge.

Yes I realize that this Final Fantasy game is as old as dirt and there are games out there now with much better graphics. But I am not a 3-D kinda girl. And I like playing on my DS. SO why haven't I gotten the older Final Fantasy games before? Probably because I am cheap. I can buy stacks of stickers and bundles of plushies and not blink an eye at the price but when it comes to an "expensive" game...yeah it is harder.

But I can't argue with a price tag of $20! Reliving my childhood complete with cut scenes is totally worth the $20!

Photobucket

We shall conquer all!

So yeah. Sorry Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan. You got pushed aside in favor of remembering the good old days of playing Super Nintendo with my little brother. Maybe I will blog about you after I get a few more party members and I am betrayed for the 3rd time. But for now I am having a blast with the new take on this old game. Just goes to show you the staying power Final Fantasy has!

But wish me luck with the whole new battle system. It's not that much different but still. I am old school. XD

Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitte Iru Episode 2

Photobucket

Someone has a really bad case of the emos. It might be fatal.

Ah Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru. Episode 2 has come and gone and I am still confused. But I am in good company right Yuki?

But yes. For now I am still going to blog this show that reminds me of X/1999 and Legal Drug. Hopefully the CLAMP feel to this show will overshadow the creepy Vampire Knights and Twilight vibe I am getting and I have never even seen Twilight! This show better step up the pace though as I see there are only 12 episodes scheduled and so far we are going at a syrupy slow pace.

In any event spoilers for episode 2 are under the cut. Not too much in the way of theories as I am still unsure of what is going on in this series and have nothing to speculate on.

Photobucket

NO SPARKLES!

Episode Summary: The episode starts off with some random naked vine scene with girl Yuki and Zess. Because we need to be reminded that they were lovers okay! Boy Yuki then explains to the cops what happened to him the night before but they don’t seem to give a crap. Yuki thinks of his dark hero as he is forced to make necklace for his fellow orphan kids. Off in his own apartment Kanata is holding his special book mumbling about something random. Tsukumo and Touko are spying on the orphanage when a random person shows up. He explains to Yuki that he (Takashiro) is his half brother and he wants Yuki to come live with him in Tokyo. Yuki is shocked by this news and goes outside. When Yuki is contemplating what to do girl Yuki in his starts to yell at him which activates his powers that including blowing up windows. The kids scream in TERROR!

Photobucket

So...what happened to the shadow monsters?

Yuki walks around town thinking about how he is a killer of windows when Kanata comes up and is all like dude I will take care of you everything will be alright. Yuki isn’t done with his emo party yet so he declines. The next day Uzuki overhears some girls telling Yuki that he is better off without Uzuki and that pisses him off. The random whispering voice also starts talking to Uzuki about how Yuki sucks. Meanwhile Tsukumo and Touko are off in the forest shooting at demon dogs from sparkle land. In class Uzuki decides to go evil on Yuki and accidentally reveals that he is the one sending the hate letters. This causes Yuki to lose control again and more windows are murdered. Yuki runs out of class (in the rain) and thinks about how he needs to see Zess. Zess then magically appears and listens to Yuki’s tale of woe. While they are walking back to…somewhere giant demon sparkle dogs appear and Zess skips out of the way to save Yuki. Tsukumo and Touko appear with their sparkle weapons and blow the demons away and Takashiro arrives telling everyone GOOD WORK. He explains nothing to Yuki but says that Yuki must come with him. The end!

Photobucket

But I just want to be NORMAL! *insert tears here*

Exactly. That is all indeed. But we shall endure right?

I am not sure how I feel about girl Yuki telling boy Yuki what to do. But I think this might be a good thing for me. Because I want girl Yuki and boy Yuki to be two different people and for Zess to fall in love with boy Yuki. A side note I am not sure how I feel about the name Zess but that is how he wants to be referred to as and who am I to question a fictional character? But yeah, girl Yuki is dead and shouldn’t technically exist so I am not thrilled with her still existing in boy Yuki’s mind. That and don’t the writers want us to think they are the same person? How can you hear someone that is you right? But meh that is beside the point. Girl Yuki needs to not be so bossy with confused boy Yuki. If she wants him to go down a certain path maybe she needs not to say such cryptic things and actually guide him. Girl Yuki is dead and she is going to give me reason to hate her. XD

Photobucket

This is a very practical outfit yes it is.

Zess is a man of very few words. But considering he is wearing all black and is playing the hero card of course he is going to be a stoic bad boy. I think I will like him anyway. He isn’t Kaname which makes me cheer but he isn’t as offsetting as some CLAMP bad boy heroes. Zess is typical in some ways but he doesn’t annoy me. Cheers for that right? Characters can be familiar and cliché and still be enjoyable. I just hope that now that random brother has revealed the “truth” to Yuki Zess will be more of a main character and not someone who pops up randomly to save the day and disappears just as randomly.

Photobucket

I totally believe every word you say....

Let’s talk about that random brother. He claims his name is Takashiro Giou and that he is Yuki’s half brother. But was just Takashiro’s way of getting close to Yuki? At the end of the episode Takashiro explains that people with special powers belong to the Giou clan so that doesn’t mean they are all related by blood correct? I did get the bad buy vibe from him when he randomly showed up but maybe that was just the scar talking. At least Yuki knows the truth now as Takashiro’s lies were a bit too hard to swallow even for someone who is as naive as Yuki.

Photobucket

Does it ever dawn on these people that maybe if they raised the chosen one from birth they would be able to handle the BIG BATTLE? I mean...why let them be normal for a few years and take away their hope?

I am not sure how Takashiro is related to Yuki or what Tsukumo and Touko are or what any of them (including Zess) are after. We have random shadows driving cars into Yuki, sparkly demon dogs that live in trees, and ominous whispers that convince stupid humans to do stupid things. Not sure where the plot is going but it needs to get there fast. Enough with Yuki say “I’m…I’m”. We need a better explanation and would prefer to have it by next week thanks.

Photobucket

This is not how one repays someone being concerned for them.

Uzuki needs to be stabbed in the face. I enjoy saying that phrase, makes me happy. But Uzuki seriously needs some therapy. I doubt he will as it is easier for a character to go to the dark side and die than actually change. XD I found the whole giving Yuki flowers in a flashback really, really…..over the top. But I guess that was to show the audience that Uzuki was not at fault, we must blame Yuki and his awful powers!!! Okay yeah so that is all in Yuki’s head, the self pity party and blame game. Most reasonable people are going to blame Uzuki and will cheer when he dies (hopefully). Yuki will probably cry and give Uzuki a bit of redemption before he goes but that is because Yuki is a good person.

The real question is who is whispering Uzuki ear? And isn’t it always convenient that everyone is coming to town at the same time to get Yuki on their side/dead? But yeah. Answers would be nice. I am sure that it will turn out that Zess is a former baddie but girl Yuki changed his ways and AW isn’t it romantic that Zess is a good vampire? But I want to know what is going on and why all of this has to do with Yuki.

Photobucket

I don't think this screenie really captures how slow Zess was moving..

The supernatural elements of this show need a bit of work. I think I would have been happy with Yuki having the power to see people’s pasts. But now he has the power to randomly break glass and I am not pleased. Okay okay that was a bit harsh. But I don’t like how he has had one power all his life and now that everyone has showed up he is exhibiting random powers to show how important he is. I also think the random magic gun and sword were a bit much but maybe there will be so explanation next episode. I guess it’s better than going BAM you are this in episode 1 right?

Photobucket

And this means what?

So it Kanata a good guy or a baddie? I think that is what is bothering me the most. I don’t like that he has a random book and is apparently someone important and kept this from Yuki. Why does he get to be in the know and Yuki is off making bracelets in orphan land? That and I love a good love triangle. XD

So that’s about everything. Not much is happening except Yuki blames himself, random broken windows, and everyone is here to collect their golden boy (girl). Pray for answers next week people. Pray.

Penguins. That is all.

Sometimes I get the urge to go out and spend money on things I really don't need and serve no purpose in life. Since I am happy with a $9 T-shirt and $4 meal I have a bit of playing room when it comes to buying "useless" treasures.

Today I had an urge to buy something cute. Because I don't own enough stuffed animals. Here is what I bought.

Photobucket

Snuggle it now!!!

This was completely a compulsive buy. This little guy cost about what I make in an hour. And he won't be alone on the guest bed that is also known as PlushieVille. But it made me happy.

I don't drive a fancy car and eat out at fancy places. No designer purses in this house. I can't think of any article of clothing I spent more than 20 dollars on including my shoes.

So while I might think the above items are a waste of money someone might treasure their importance greatly. They might put all their extra money into dining at the best restaurants or wearing the best fashions. But everyone out there has something that they buy and it can't be explained rationally. We buy it/them because it makes us happy and we don't need any other reason.

Anime fans often have to explain their spending to non anime friends and family members. I can't count how many times I have heard my mother complain about how I spent way too much on a hunk of plastic (nendoroids mom, nendoroids) or people questioning whether or not I have enough mangas yet (because apparently I own them all?). Yet when people come in with their fancy purses it's all MOG how great is that purchase.

So people of Earth: Stop judging how people spend their fun money. Yes I am a 26 year woman carrying around a stuffed penguin, a pack of Hello Kitty stickers, and a giraffe Littlest Pet Shop. I do not feel the need to "grow up" and buy a $500 purse that looks like someone killed grandma's tablecloth to make. I do not feel the need to stop buying my lovelies so I can afford to buy the newest and latest phone that will be so last season in 3 months. I do not feel the need to spend $50 a head at a fancy restaurant when my friends and I can have a great time at Steak and Shake, see a movie, and buy some mangas at the same price.

I like penguins. And stuffed animals. But I love my husband because he doesn't mind that our house is full of stuffed animals and penguins.

But everyone loves penguins right?

Angel Beats Episode 3

Photobucket

Out of the loop here, what is that suppose to be?

Is this work week almost over? I swear the last few days all I have done is sleep and work. Bleh.

No! This is a happy Angel Beats post. It is my calm before the storm. I will accept that work will be meh tonight and cherish my moments with Angel Beats before I am subjected to hell. Hell I say.

Be gone negative. Bring on the positive and the fun. Spoilers and speculation for Angel Beats episode three. A lot of speculation actually. And a lot of singing!

Photobucket

Well that was drama free....

Episode Summary: Iwasawa plays a new song that she wrote for the SSS but Yuri says that a ballad would not make for a good distraction. Otonashi apparently was not paying attention during episode 1 and has to be explained that the Girls Dead Monster is a band that the SSS uses to get the NPC kids out of the way why they fight Tenshi. Iwasawa handles the rejection pretty well and the meeting continues. Yuri wants to break into Tenshi’s strong hold and hack her secrets. She has enlisted the help of a computer genius who likes to be referred to as Christ. Otonashi is a bit of a freak thinking about where Tenshi lives. But he is dedicated to the cause and practices with his weapon. He stops briefly as he sees Yui, a crazy Girls Dead Monster fan, hanging up fliers. She seems happy to be doing her part and skips away.

Photobucket

I can't even play the recorder! X_x Such talented kids.

Otonashi takes another break when he hears the Girls Dead Monster practicing. Iwasawa joins Otonashi in the hallway and tells him her sad back story when she learns that Yuki already revealed hers. Iwasawa had a pretty crummy home life. One day the songs of a musician inspire her to find escape and with the help of an abandoned guitar Iwasawa starts finding herself. She plays on street corners and works odd jobs to reach her dreams of being a singer. But during one of her parent’s fights Iwasawa is injured and is unable to sing again. Iwasawa is called away before she can tell Otonashi how she died. The plan takes place later that night. The Girls Dead Monster plays their distracting concert while the SSS break into Tenshi’s room (which is just a normal room to Otonashi’s dismay). The concert is nearly shut down but Iwasawa breaks away to get her old guitar and plays her rejected ballad. This gives Christ enough time to hack into Tenshi’s systems. At the end of the song Iwasawa realizes that she has found something and with a peaceful smile she disappears. Yuki claims it is because that Iwasawa has accepted Tenshi’s way of thinking but Otonashi thinks differently. Yuki has a lot on her plate though as the data shows that Tenshi might not have any special powers at all and there is in fact no god. The end!

Photobucket

Yuri needs this all to be true or she loses her reason to live.

This episode was all about Iwasawa. Of course she tells her sad back story to Otonashi. People often tell their sad back story to strangers they just met after all. But I am not going to snark Iwasawa’s sad and brief life. I guess coming from an abusive family is more typical than having three of your siblings randomly murdered. An easy cop-out but it is a story that many kids can relate to. The teenager finds something to immerse themselves in while them home life goes to crap. A very relatable story.

Photobucket

This could have two different meanings...

So while Iwasawa’s past was very sad (especially the part where her escape gets taken away by the same fighting she tries to run away from) that wasn’t the real focus of the story. At least not for me anyway. Something all the kids share in this world is that they are all dead. But instead of telling Otonashi about how they died they are telling Otonashi sad events that happened in their lives. Now I am sure it is possible that Iwasawa did die from complications due to the concussion. But I don’t think that’s what happened.

Photobucket

Maybe Otonashi will believe my theory.

What I think happened was Iwasawa woke up in that hospital room and was unable to sing. She was filled with thoughts that she was never going to reach her dreams of escaping her home life and becoming a successful singer/musician. And then Iwasawa took a flying leap off the hospital roof to her death.

But Tenchi Yuri said in the last episode that people who commit suicide aren’t in this world. Well that is if you believe Yuri. Or if you believe that these kids are actually dead.

Photobucket

Despite her disappearing this scene was really pretty.

This might be too early to speculate but since Iwasawa disappeared already and it was only episode 3 I think Angel Beats wants us to start thinking these theories. Iwasawa’s last words are “Finally I found it” before she disappears. What I think she found was a reason to keep on living. As in she tried to commit suicide and she is in this world to get a second chance at life. Yuri thinks that they are accepting life Tenshi’s way but really Iwasawa is going back to the real world because she wants to fight there.

Photobucket

Are you just getting that now...?

Is this even possible? We all know that Tenshi is not really a bad guy, even before her comment “I guess I am a the bad guy”. She is trying to maintain order and it is revealed that she doesn’t have god-like powers like Yuri thought she did. There is speculation that Tenshi might be like the others but is trying to help them reach the real world again. I rather think that Tenshi is in charge of this world but is still trying to guide them.

Photobucket

Hello big glaring hint!

But there are other hints too. Such as the logo for this show. I commented before that it looked like a heart monitor. As in all these kids are still alive but they must make the decision to leave this angry world of regret and rage and go back to a tough world with a stronger resolve. There is also the fact that two people have told Otonashi their sad back story but have neglected to tell him the most important issue at hand: how they died. Why would they open up that much and skip the factor that ties them together? Of course it doesn’t explain why Yuri lied about the suicide issue if she did in fact lied but hey. My theories aren’t perfect. Just throwing that out there.

Photobucket

Will we still have this energy now that Iwasawa is gone?

That all being said…the amount of music in this series is wow. Or the quality is wow. Maybe both. More than K-On!! at this point I should say. XD That might change now that Iwasawa is all poofy but it made the episode fun. It also made the episode feel a bit short but I think thing singing revealed more about Iwasawa than what Iwasawa said about herself.

Photobucket

Someone else is not impressed...

I think the mission to Tenshi’s room was a bit lame. Especially given the fact they found something. I often keep my super secret information on a computer when I know determine kids are out to get me. That and if Tenshi is really the ruler of this world does she really need to document her abilities and stuff? But if Tenshi is less than special and more like Yuri I guess keeping records makes a bit more sense. I don’t think much will happen with the knowledge they gained about Tenshi today. But when things starts coming together in Otonashi’s mind he will bring these issues up to Yuri so she will face reality.

Photobucket

Tiny fan girl is tiny but cute.

Yui and Christ were just bleh for me. Well more bleh on Christ and oh look Yui is a crazy fangirl. Maybe if Yui had more reasoning behind why she loves Girls Dead Monster Band. Christ was just annoying. Was not a fan of his self inflated ego.

Photobucket

Threatening people makes them work harder true facts!

But I really enjoyed this episode. And all my crazy theories. I hope that I am right because being wrong is no fun. That and I don’t want the kids to actually be dead. I realize that they have the chance of being reincarnated but I like them the way they are now and I want them to find happiness in this life. XD If one can after all that sadness of course. Good series is great and I hope everyone is excited about the series. That and it’s not a Haruhi fest every week now is it?

Anime Conventions Pro and Con List

The anime convention season hasn’t official started yet (or maybe it has and I am just a weirdo for thinking it starts in the summer) but I felt like doing a convention post. Especially after finding out that there were three big anime conventions on Easter weekend alone I felt as if the convention bug as bit me.

I decided to compile a list of convention pros and cons because 1) you can only try to catch MewTwo so many times before you want to throw your DS at a wall and B) as much as the convention bug has hit me there are certainly draw backs to going to conventions. XD Not that I should let that ruin a good time but I just want to warn people it is not all fun and games and kittens and rainbows. That and I am in a snarky mood.

So behold fellow convention veterans and convention virgins! Here is a list of things we all look forward to and the things we cringe at the thought of. Maybe if we accept the crazy/bad things they won’t seem like a big shock when they happen. That and maybe if people have reasonable expectations of what happens at an anime convention there won’t be letdowns laters. Snark with me people.

+ Being surrounded by like minded anime fans. Dressing in costumes doesn’t seem weird to this crowd.

- Being surrounded by crazy anime fans. While we would all like to argue that we aren’t THAT crazy anime person they are out there. And they are sitting right next to us being annoying and smelly.

+ Able to buy anime merchandise with no shipping fees. Bigger cons have huge rooms filled with a good variety of products. The ability to bargain in person is always an option.

- Higher prices to offset the convention fee. More obscure items might be harder to find as dealers try to gauge what is the popular series of the moment.

+ A weekend full of anime fun, cosplays, and silly antics.

-A weekend full of people who don’t shower, stupid internet memes, and possibly dangerous antics.

+ Spending tons of money on anime merchandise.

- Being poor for the next 3 months because of said convention.

+ Taking long hot showers in the hotel room and being able to walk out of your room and step into the anime scene.

- Sharing a room with 6 people and 5 of those people are hogging the bathroom putting on their cosplays.

+ Seeing how dedicated people are to their hobby when they put long hours into one cosplay.

- Next to those dedicated people are people wearing a cheap Naruto headband and jacket that they bought off e-bay and they expect me to take their pictures too.

+ Buying hard to get Japanese treats and drinks from the Dealer’s room.

- Spending a buttload of money on expensive and overpriced convention food because the nearest McDonalds is too far away.

+ The travel time to the convention. Full of excitement and woohoo no work/school.

- The travel time back from the convention. Full of crap back to the real world thoughts.

+ A fun filled weekend packed with panels, events, and shopping.

- Lines. LINES!

+ The chance of being exposed to new and exciting shows and products.

- The chance of being exposed to con funk and random flues at the convention. Bring that vitamin C people.

+ A chance to catch up with convention friends and maybe make some new ones.

- Getting caught up in con drama if you circle of friends is huge and unpredictable.

+ A huge variety of events and panels to attend.

-Some of your favorite events and panels clash causing you to make some tough decisions.

+ Being in a new area and having fun being a tourist.

- Being in a new area and being charged out the bum for being said tourist and being lost all the time.

I think that is a pretty good list. I think to minimize possible cons one should save enough money in advance, bring as much food as they can, and be mindful of times and their own situations. To maximize the pros hang out with your friends as much as possible so the stupid things other people are doing won't matter as much because you are too busy doing your own thing. It's hard to stay mad at some random freak in the hallway when your friends are cracking you up.

Happy convention season to everyone. Be safe and wear deodorant!!!

K-On!! Season Two Episode 2

Photobucket

Hard to have a bad day watching this silliness. XD

Most people hate Mondays because that means the start of the work/school week. There are groans and moans at getting up early and facing another week of blehness. My work schedule is a bit different so Wednesdays are my bleh days. The start of the work week and the insanity that is certain to follow.

But last anime season Wednesdays were a bright spot as Kobato was subbed and up those days. So even though Wednesdays meant bleh they also were happy days because I got to watch happy anime goodness.

This anime season will be the same as last season. Wednesdays are still bleh (actually by next week Wednesdays and Thursdays might tie in terms of MOGness, we will have to see) but now I have K-On!! to brighten up my day. So boo to work and yay to anime.

Spoilers for K-On!! episode 2. Beware of weird girls who play instruments.

Photobucket

Exactly Yui. Such a special Yui.

Episode Summary: After class the girls have to wake up Yui from her afternoon slumber. Sawako tells the girls that she needs the animal costumes back for another club. Once Mio becomes aware how messy the club room is she orders a cleaning day much to the sadness of Ritsu and Yui, the later being especially distraught since most of the junk is hers. While cleaning the girls find some items left by previous Light Music Club members. One item is an old guitar that belonged to Sawako. Sawako gives the girls permission to sell the guitar to fund the club. After being handed a pamphlet the girls go to JapanMart where Mugi is in awe of how us common folks shop for bargains. The other girls are pretty weird too as Mio orders a much needed shelf for the club closest. Yui is especially special about this weird little turtle and Azusa humors her for a bit.

Photobucket

Oh yeah we need more members....

The girls finally carry the guitar to the music shop where Yui bought her guitar (the place that Mugi’s father owns). The girls poke around and discuss the photos of bands with lots of members until they are told the guitar is worth 5k. There are X_X faces all around. The girls dine at Wendys (okay McDonalds but I like Wendys better) while Ritsu tries to make all the girls imagine how awesome this money is. Soon the girls start thinking about the lovely things they can afford with this kinda cash (well Mugi is more like this is a lot of money and Yui is like PANCAKES but whatever). When the girls return to school Ritsu tries to lie about how much money they received for the guitar and goes as far as to eat the receipt. Sawako happily takes the money but says the girls can buy one thing with part of the cash. While trying to think of what would be best for the club the girls walk by other clubs having fun with their new members and Azusa has a bit of sad face. The older girls discuss their options about getting new members to make Azusa happy and Yui comes up with a super plan. Azusa enters the club room the next day to find out the one item the girls picked out: the weird looking turtle. Azusa states that Yui was the one who liked the turtle but Azusa smiles anyway, happy that the girls thought of her. Yay for a picture perfect ending.

Photobucket

We're not worthy!

So yesterday when I praised myself and my ability to be brief. Yeah that was a short lived experience. I guess when something is interesting and fun it is easier to talk about. Shocking I know.

But this episode was super cute. Way better than the anime I blogged yesterday. Even K-On!! can take the tired old plot of rich girl is amazed at some lame commoner issue and make it seem fun. Thank you K-On!! for bringing the fun to my Wednesday.

Photobucket

Big box stores are very impressive to the rich.

Let’s talk about the JapanMart trip. The girls end up going to a huge store that resembles Wal-Mart; it sells a bit of everything is mass quantities, super low (or what I think is super low) prices, and it takes up a huge amount of space. Clearly Mugi and her rich self only shop at specialty stores. Or maybe she doesn’t even go to stories at all and her personal shopper picks everything out for her. The point is Mugi goes Ouran Host Club on us and has to take in the specialness that is the everyday bulk store.

Photobucket

Stores?! Selling stuff?! SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!

Mugi is not the only girl who has way too much fun at JapanMart. Apparently Yui has never seen screws before. SCREWS people. I also like that she decided she was killing people with a screwdriver. Ritsu trying to mock Yui while wearing a hard hat was pretty funny. The turtle probably thought Yui and Azusa were freaks and was like please don’t take me home!!! Now if people were acting like this at Wal-Mart I would probably just keep on walking. Or join in. Or take pictures. But since this is Japan-Mart I am sure the customers were XO at this behavior and had to hide the eyes of the young children. Fun times.

Photobucket

Wouldn't you miss all that stuff...?

I want to know how Yui has accumulated so much junk in the club room. I mean treasures. I apologize, I don’t like it when people call my treasures junk. XD But seriously Yui the point in having treasures is to take them home and have them take space up on your shelves. You cannot love your treasures when they are locked in a closet at school!!! I know carrying stuff can be a drag (protip: get married so the husband can carry all your convention loot!) but that is the price we must bear to own cute stuff.

Photobucket

Do you think Sawako was this crazy in high school?

How did Sawako not know the guitar was worth that much? I am not a musician but can’t you tell when something is vintage and when something is an old piece of crap? I don’t know but I guess I am more amused at the fact that Sawako had that nice guitar and it is probably pure luck she didn’t smash it in a moment of “inspiration”. But at the end of the day it was nice that she was willing to donate the guitar to the club funds. Granted she thought it was only worth like 50 bucks but that was her 50 bucks.

Photobucket

Money turns sane people crazy. XD

I always amuse myself with the fact that I always have to take a moment to think about yen to dollars conversion. It made me feel better that Mio had a WTF moment too and thought it was 5 million yen! But yeah, I was like wait 50k?! No silly, move the decimal one more place. But still X_X Who gives a bunch of kids that kind of cash? I guess since Japan is a cash country it is possible that a store had that money on hand but still. I would be running home, not flashing it at Wendys.

Photobucket

That is one dedicated crazy person.

Ritsu eating the receipt was the best scene of the whole episode. Possibly the entire series. I love how it was just…NOM and the girls cheer her on. I love how the girls often do that with one another. None of this GASP did you really just do that but YAY you go girl. It was hilarious to watch. I love it. More please.

Photobucket

AW bonding moment.

The turtle scene was fine. Since it came after the receipt thing it wasn’t as good as it was meant to be. XD But since last week they showed Azusa being sad about the lack of new members I was wondering when this scene was going to happen. I thought the results were going to be different but meh. Turtles are awesome too.

Photobucket

This is Azusa's way of saying thank you.

The girls are really sweet though. See people, not all teenagers are self centered jerks who can’t think outside their own existence. Made up anime teenagers can be really giving and loving to their fellow classmates by buying them pet turtles when they can’t expand their own club. XD Seriously though it is nice thought. Not the best idea ever but probably Yui’s best idea. And even though it wasn’t what Azusa wanted she was happy the girls wanted to make her happy. So while the fact still remains that they do need new club members for now they are happy group with a new pet turtle.

Cute fluffy anime is cute and fluffy. Hopefully this cuteness will permeate my soul so I can get through my toughest day at work. Pray for me tomorrow! The end of K-On!! day means the beginning of the Twilight Zone for me.

Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan episode 2

Disappointing episode was disappointing.

Time for my mini review of this episode.

Hijikata we get it. You are a moody hater. You don't have to try so hard.

Episode Summary: Turns out that last week that Keisuke hurt his arm, not Hijikata. Probably because all the different names confuse me. Anyway those two return from their trip and Hijikata is all WHY IS CHIZURU OUT OF HER ROOM?! Keisuke spends a lot of time feeling sorry for himself and not eating. Chizuru volunteers to serve him his food and despite him treating her like dirt he starts to turn around and be more positive despite the limited use of his arm.

Hopefully her father also has a very distinct hair style or this makes no sense.

The second part of the episode centers on some drama in the town. Chizuru is allowed to go with the guys on patrol after she proves herself. She seeks information about her father and accidentally stumbles on a den of hidden weapons. Some group is planning to kidnap the Emperor or some jazz. The police force breaks up into two uneven groups with the larger group going to the location they think the baddies are at and the small group going to the more unlikely location. Turns out there are at the unlikely location and after some drama it is Chizuru who is running to inform the other group. The end!

Wow I can limit my words down! Of course it might have been that I found this episode really boring so there wasn’t that much to say but meh. Go me anyway.

But yeah. This episode was boring. I am not sure if it’s because of learning all these names is keeping me from actually experiencing the episode or if it’s the not being aware of the time period/problems of this time. Maybe it’s both. But it moved so slow.

Such a bright shining star.

And I don’t want to watch a series in which every week a guy is yelling at a girl constantly for no good reason. We get it Hijikata. Chizuru needs to be locked up in her room because you guys are falsely imprisoning her under the guise of protection. BUT STOP YELLING!

Hello to you too!

The whole Keisuke hurt his arm thing was meh. I get that without the use of his arm he might as well be dead but since I am not a boy I don’t truly understand the over the top sadness. He can still be a teacher right? He can still help with other things. But since he can’t go out and die with his friends his life is over. But Chizuru set him straight. You know, after he got done saying crap about her.

Yes exactly.

I am not sure who is after the Emperor or why. Maybe if I understood why they are baddies I would be more MOG this makes so much sense but nopers. Just a lot more names and crap going on that I don’t understand. The whole one line of plot was quickly brushed over so we could get to the killing.

Look at me being useful! Now I will prove my worth!

Chizuru is going to save the day. Because she is dressed like a boy and can hold a sword. But it was obvious enough that Chizuru was going to be the one to run to the large group and warn them the small group (where most of the main characters are) is about to be mushed. The thing I want to know is how Keisuke knew that was going to happen. It seemed a bit…odd that he didn’t trust this one dude enough to complete the mission. Really Chizuru should have slowed him down if anything. So that was interesting. But I still predict that Keisuke will get attacked at the empty headquarters anyway.

And that’s about it. Really boring. :( Not seeing the plot I was promised yet. Hopefully things improve because a cast full of bishies isn’t enough to hold my attention for much longer.

Wait don't give up on us yet! Look at us being important and stuff.
