Shingeki no Kyojin episode 25 FINAL EPISODE!

Le yawn. Still tired and in a bad mood. Tomorrow things will have to get done. XD Not much choice now. The Fall Season 2013 has already started folks! I need to hurry up and get things finished despite the rarwness in my life. So no sad naps in the afternoon tomorrow. Blog people. XO Of course I am talking to myself.

He just had to say that....

Before I pass out and get to experience the loveliness that is more work here is one last episode. The final episode for Shingeki no Kyojin. It has been a long ride to get to this episode 25. So how does it end? Will there actually be an attack on Titans? Let's find out folks!

We did have this nifty thing in the middle of the episode though....

Episode Summary: After...NO RECAPS X___X we see the church of crazies praying. Apparently all the walls are woman and they are their goddess. And if they pray hard enough the walls will become stronger. That might be true but when Eren Titan throws the first punch Annie Titan crashes into THEIR building, killing a lot of them. Their priest manages to stay alive and probably pisses his pants at the sight of Annie Titan and Eren Titan fighting. They continue to square off, landing blows and what not. Mikasa gets on her feet and the rest of the Scouting Legion starts to surround the Titans. Hange notes that Eren is actually in control this time and no matter what they must capture Annie. Jean is like um do you see all the damage these two are doing, how can we justify this? Two military police soldiers have reported to Nile that two Titans have appeared. Instead of this being proof that Erwin needs to be freed Nile gets even more pissed and threatens to kill Erwin for all the innocent lives lost with the Titans crashing around. Erwin is like yep I knew this would happen and you may kill me. He then tells Nile what the plan is so when Erwin has a hole in his brain Nile can lead the troops to victory. This gives Nile so much fear he settles for handcuffing Erwin, so he can stand trial. Nile orders his men to go look for survivors, not to help with the Titan baloney. Erwin orders Levi to not help as he doesn't want the man to die as he is injured. Levi agrees as he thinks a lot of pointless deaths are about to happen. For the next million minutes Annie Titan and Eren Titan hit each other and injury the other so bad it takes a long time for things to regenerate. It's like Eren Titan is trying to help Annie Titan kill all the humans with all the buildings they are smashing.

As she beats Eren Titan's face in.

Annie keeps seeing a memory of her past. Something bad happened and her father said he was all she had left. Later he apologizes for what has happened and all Annie can do now is make all of humanity her enemy. That gives Annie Titan the strength to go on. Eren thinks about all the people he has lost and what Annie must be fighting for if she has this strength. Eventually Annie Titan beats Eren Titan's face in and it takes him a while to recover. She starts to run away and Eren Titan has to chase her. The humans realize Annie Titan is trying to get to an area with no buildings so they can't help Eren. Eren is pissed, that Annie is a giant liar and always looked bored, planning this and what. At some points in the fight Annie Titan starts to win. Then Eren Titan takes over. Annie Titan eventually uses some of her martial arts abilities to destroy one of Eren's arms/legs and she takes off running. It is clear she is trying to make it to the wall, that glorious wall. All the humans start to panic as Annie as this super desperate look in her beated up face. She makes it to the wall and uses her crystalizing power to climb said wall. Only Eren Titan might have lost control of himself and powered up his I HATE TITAN ability. He starts running like whatever that thing is on Jeeper Creepers towards Annie Titan. Hange is concerned that Eren is no longer in control of the Titan but Mikasa doesn't seem to care. She swoops in and cuts off Annie Titan's fingers. She casually pushes Annie Titan to the ground where crazy Eren Titan is there to beat her in and rip her head off.

Time to bail!

Everyone starts to yell at Titan Eren not to kill Annie, like seriously worried. Annie has one last memory of her father, promising him to come home. She starts to cry and Eren Titan stops when he sees her tears. In that split moment there is a lot of glowing and what not. Hange thinks the two are merging together. Levi comes out of nowhere and pulls Eren out of the Titan. When all the glowing settles Annie the human has encased herself in some sort of crystal. Jean is beyond pissed and bangs on it. Levi forces him to stop and everyone slowly realizes that so much was lost this day and Annie still won't be able to give up information. Eren wakes up long enough for Mikasa to be all motherly and him to look at Annie Crystal. Levi asks Erwin what is going to happen now. Erwin seems convinced that this will protect the Scouting Legion from being disbanded. Erwin is later interrogated by some high level officials who aren't happy with all the dead people and destroyed buildings. Erwin said he could not give more notice as he knows Annie is working with other people. Everyone's a suspect!!!! He is asked if this will save mankind, now that Annie can't give any info. Erwin pauses and says while it would have been better if Annie was conscious they are certainly on their way to fighting back. It is later decided that Eren will be spared and the Scouting Legion won't be disbanded. Mikasa, Armin, and Jean wait for Eren to wake up. Mikasa seems to want to feed Eren, Jean wants to yell at Eren, and Armin blames Eren. In Armin's crazy mind since Eren hesitate all of this was useless. Eren feels bad and Armin and Jean leave to be interrogated. They talk about how Annie really went all out protecting that information and the person who will take out Annie will have to throw away their humanity too. Unless there is another way.....Jean wonders if it is all worth it and Armin watching some birds fly decides it is. Mikasa tries to get Eren to eat despite the fact everything sucks. Eren resolves himself to stopping all the Titans no matter what and eats like all the food in front of him is a bag of chips. Annie is shown tied up in a deep dark place with Hange and Levi looking at her. As the credits roll we see clips from the entire series. And in the last 5 seconds a piece of the crumbling wall falls gives way, revealing that there is a Titan in the wall. THE END!

Oh no you deviate from the manga?! RARW!

….That was not the ending I was looking for. I mean it did end at with the note I wanted but since it didn't HAPPEN the same way in the manga now I am all RARW! Like way to tack that on at the end, making NO SENSE AT ALL! Le sigh. 5 more years until season 2?

There ain't no time for you!

My brain was almost confused at the lack of recaps. Thankfully there were crazy church people to make fun of. I know all (most?) religion is based on a belief system. Like I can't see my deity as they live in the sky/on another plane/ but I know they are there. I can see how people might mock such beliefs. However this does not make me a hypocrite when I say these people are bat shit crazy. Because they are. Later (well maybe you nonmanga readers have figured it out) it is revealed they are not truly crazy. Maybe some are. The higher ups not so much. But the idea of worshiping something that humans made is dumb. Like people are not praying to metal crosses, it's just their focal point. These people are acting like the wall itself is holy. That would be like worshiping a computer. Humans made it, it can't be holy. Such craziness.

Time to find new recruits?

Most of the crazies are gone now. Because Eren Titan smashed Annie titan into their building. Which is ironic when you think about it. Eren Titan....what the hell? Eren was in control of his actions this time around. But I am thinking Eren Titan and Annie Titan caused tons of damage and killed way more people than what happened on the Scouting Legion mission of fail. Is this Eren's fault? I mean....he could have been slightly more careful. I mean...can you be careful in a Titan battle? He had to run and smash into her. And since Eren isn't that great at being a Titan perhaps there was no room to be careful. So I guess it's not Eren's fault that so many died.

I am sure shooting him will make this all so much better....

Does that mean Erwin's is at fault? Nile and his dumbass self seems to think so. One would think that this Titan fight would be visible everywhere. That screams would carry and he would have already know. But he doesn't and he had to wait for news from the few military police that had their gear on. Nile was so upset about this....this mess he was willing to kill Erwin. You will pay for all these lives lost. Clearly Nile is not paying attention to current events. Humans have fallen a notch on the damn food chain!! Titan's are the enemy, not humans. Well unless these humans are Titans. He blames all of this on Erwin. But is that fair? Fair?! All those people people, how can anyone support him?

Can't you feel the victory?!?!?

I guess it is more black and white on a personal level. I was going to use a plane analogy but given the recent anniversary I had to pick something else. Like if there was a crazy gunman holding a train hostage and it was loaded with explosives, enough to take out a giant city if detonated. And then I managed to blow up said train before it reached the city. There would still be sadness. I still might blame myself. I might consider myself a murderer for killing hundreds when I saved thousands. Maybe other people would too. But it would be a last resort...and I would know this would stop the problem and what the ultimate damage would be. With Erwin it was a risky gamble. Maybe catch Annie in human form. Maybe Eren will be able to transform and control himself. Maybe Eren will win. This is a lot of maybes. But Armin had explained Erwin was playing the ultimate number's games. He is playing for all humans. So if that's how it works out, 1,000 dead humans and a captured Annie so be it. Not that any of this matters as Annie is NOT the Colossal Titan and humans could be squished in minutes if he showed up again. What is he waiting for?

Say what?

Erwin was willing to take responsibility. Die for the cause, in battle with his fellow soldiers. Granted I would have asked to have my head blown away after the mission but maybe Erwin was banking on Nile pissing his pants. Like I accept responsibility for this, you must as well. You may pass judgment on me but you must assume command. This, this, and this must happen. Good luck. Nile, being a corrupt and lazy military police man is like...what...you want me to fight Titans?! Um no....we will let your plan go on. And you can lead the operation with handcuffs. Because Nile wants to protect himself. Erwin wants to protect the most people. Which means Levi needs to live and recover. Not risk his life unnecessary when Eren has to handle it. Just....all these branches were trained the same, it's interesting how they all turned out. And not to spoil anything....but Erwin is more badass than Levi. Like X___x hot damn!

Darn guess we can't help...oh well!

Even if the military police came to help it wouldn't do any good. Titan Annie was moving around, to areas where maneuver gear wouldn't work. That and getting in the middle of the two Titans fighting is the definition of pointless death. Everyone was merely standing around in the event Eren Titan wouldn't be able to take down Annie Titan. Hange was a serious soldier today. None of that XO this is the most amazing thing ever, yay Titans have my babies!!! Not too much to do when buildings are being knocked around.

Okay so they were in the manga but still don't shed any light on what is going on with Annie.

During the fight there were the tiniest and useless flashbacks to explain why Annie is doing this. Spoiler Alert: We still don't know. Also I don't think those flashbacks were in the manga. I can't remember. Just small nothing tidbits that explained jack shit. Annie's father did something. Perhaps killed someone close to Annie. Perhaps they were a derp Titan or he was a human Titan. Just it was only them against the world. One would assume Annie was a normal human until her father got a hold of this special Eren's Dad potion and made Annie a shapeshifter. And for whatever reason Annie wants to attack other humans (THE MAN) and make it back to her father.

Or or...she killed a lot of people and you are pissed.

Eren lost a bit of focus in this episode. He should have been RARW you killed my bird demon shark. Instead he was more thinking about Annie as a person. She lied to Eren. To hell with all the dead people. She LIED to Eren. Acted better than everyone else. Snotty. Quiet. But then when she looked alive I guess that was a lie too. How dare you smile and show me your vulnerable side. Oh and you killed those people...yeah I hates you, let me bash you in.

The fight was pretty violent. Annie Titan ultimately would have won. But this time Eren Titan put up a valiant effort. Last time maybe he was just upset losing people he knew. Who cares about those splats on the ground now? The fight was very scrappy. The violence was really stepped up. Like we already scarred people for life throwing all those bodies to be stomped by Titans, might as well make it bloody. Eyeballs and arms and legs falling everywhere. Punch punch. Eren Titan did pretty good considering Annie Titan could crystallize and priorities healing as all Eren Titan could do was....punch punch.

Is that the face of defeat?! Or you know...is it just missing facial features because of the Eren Titan beating?

Annie almost escaped. Mikasa was just too wonderful for her. Mikasa reached a creepy level of calm too. Fall. Fall. Let me just say Annie was going a lot of damage when fighting Eren. It probably would have made more sense had things played out as they did in the manga. But no, the wall stayed intact for a few days and Annie crashed to the ground.

How about I stab you?

Armin is an ass. Like a serious asshole. I have no idea what he was talking about when he was talking to Eren after the boy woke up. Eren Titan was about to kill Annie. Like eat her and smash her into millions of people. He paused which allowed her to crystallize her entire human body. Somehow this means Eren let Annie get away. What the hell? If Eren Titan had killed Annie there would be no answers. Instead he paused and this happened. How is this Eren's fault? If Eren Titan had taken Annie into his hands would that have stopped her? Probably not. Might have put Eren at more risk. I don't even understand this thought pattern. Aren't there enough people out there to make Eren feel bad? Way to twist the knife. Making it sound like it was Eren's fault when the manga went different anyway.

Now we are only 99.9 percent screwed. Gosh can't you see the silver lining?!

Armin and Jean had a bit of a heart to heart as life was shown going on for the other characters. The rest of the former cadets were like X____X what is going on, Levi and Hange were looking at crystallize Annie, and Erwin was trying to explain his position. Like yes lots of people died. Yes I planned it. No I didn't halt the Titans. But this was a necessary step. Without it the end would surely come. Because when I blinked Annie was the Colossal Titan. All this nonsense has protected Eren for long but until when? Armin starts to focus more on the being a monster part. Like we must all do something horrible to win this war. And after all is said and done will we still be human?

Watch season two or else.

The episode ends with the GIANT Titan being shown in the wall. This was almost an after thought. Like haha make sure you think about this show forever in the 238928 years it will take to make more manga characters. In the manga things went QUITE differently. I don't think they can backtrack and go oh we meant to end it like this. Mikasa was the first one to see the Titan. Annie Titan did so much damage pieces fell right there. And Mr. Priest dude lost his mind. Like COVER IT UP NOW! It is implied strongly the cult exists so no one ever does anything to the wall, like reconstruction or digging things up. Like the higher ups know the truth. That the wall IS Titans. That all Titans can maybe do what Annie can and crystallize. Which would explain why the Colossal Titan only can smash the gates. HMMM FOLKS! That would raise tons of questions right? Other humans know about Titans? How did they get that many Titans to make ALL the damn wall?!

Um...you guys not attacking Titans?

But for now those questions and more will not be answered. In a series full of blood, body parts, and recaps...it was a pretty fun ride. Eren isn't in as control as manga Eren. Like they are trying to give a different message. The horror was censored at times but then it was upped with the bodies being thrown from the cart. Just a lot going on. It was an interesting ride but I wouldn't be holding my breath for another season any time soon. Unless you know...90 percent of it is anime original stuff. And since this show almost followed the manga to a T...I don't see that happening. So until next time.....

Shingeki no Kyojin episode 24

Le sigh and sad panda indeed folks. Just....just bleh. It is Tuesday and I am wishing it is Sunday. Not good times in the house of Tenchi. Work has been overwhelming, I was alone for 11 hours at said job, and today we got the lovely news that until the United States government gets a budget together my husband is not to report to work. Because apparently everyone is quick to raise the flag and speak out military personal in high regards but when it comes to paying them it is better to allow personal differences effect a whole nation. Not a whole lot of happy right now.

Where does it all come from?!

So yeah...a great way to start the week out. I did have plans to get so much done on Sunday and Monday but with this possibility looming over our heads it was hard to find the proper motivation to blog. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but if I wait any longer to get things done I will be impossibly behind. So here is my crappy attitude and long overdo anime post. Shingeki no Kyojin episode 24. Spoilers for Eren having an awful day too.

Um....time to run?

Episode Summary: After our lovely recaps Mikasa pulls Eren and Armin away as their comrades are all killed by Annie Titan. Very graphically splats on the ground. Mikasa continues to drag the boys as Annie Titan reaches in to grab them. Even is in deep shock that Annie really is the Female Titan. A flashback from a few days ago is shown. Levi is waiting on Eren and a few others so they can go over a plan. Eren notes that Levi is talking a lot but it's obvious Levi is talking more since he and Eren are the only ones left in his unit. Eren goes to apologize again but Levi says that they can't see the future. He is still nursing nursing an injury which also upsets Eren. Erwin finally arrives...with Mikasa, Armin, and Jean among the people. The plan is to lure the Female Titan, as Eren acting like bait to be taken to the King. If not Eren will surely be killed anyway. Eren wants to know how they know this will work and how they know it's someone in the military force. Everyone slowly starts spelling it out for Eren and he is like....Annie?! Back in the present Eren is still in shock that this is Annie. Armin and Mikasa talk about what to do next in regards to Plan B. Plan A was to trap the Titan in the tunnels. The trio make their way to the emergency exit to meet up with the back up squad. Only Annie Titan smashes through the tunnel and kills those soldiers. Mikasa and Armin back track, with Eren wanting to stop and help the dead soldiers. Mikasa is like why would Annie risk killing Eren if she wanted to capture him?! Armin realizes Annie Titan is playing an all or nothing game which will make her even deadlier.

Which is great for Erwin. Two birds one stone? XD

Further away people have begun to panic as it is a perfect time to panic. Nile, the asshole in charge of the military police, wants to know what is that shaking. Marlow and his team are sent to investigate as the convoy as stopped. Someone comes up and explains to Erwin the situation. WHOOSH Erwin is given his maneuver gear, Jean reveals himself not to be Eren, and Levi starts to order people to the area. Jean volunteers to go which is more than can be said about the military police who are busy pissing their pants. Erwin goes to leave when Nile pulls a gun on him, which causes all the other soldiers to pull guns too. Apparently Erwin should not have put his gear on and if he doesn't back down they will shoot him. Erwin is like we have banked so much into this if you don't let us go humanity will go extinct. The trio is still trapped in the tunnels, with Annie Titan smashing different sections, looking for Eren. They decide Eren needs to transform which....won't trap him like Annie for some reason. Eren and his massively bleedy fist bleed all over the place but he can't transform. Armin is like you need to concentrate, focus your mind. Mikasa is less than helpful. She is like it's because you don't want to fight Annie. You like Annie. You can't do what needs to be done because you have feelings for Annie. Eren keeps trying which brings up more of the meeting flashback a few days ago. Flashback Eren is like Annie?! How can it be Annie?! Armin lists his “facts”: Female Titan reacted to Eren's nickname during the Scouting Fail, Annie had Marco's maneuver gear, and this person has to be in the military in some way. Mikasa is like the bitch looks like the Female Titan the end. Oh an she fights like her too. Eren is like this is all bullshit. What if you are wrong? Um we say sorry?

Mikasa might be a slightly jealous "sister".

In the present Eren can't stop thinking about it being Annie. Armin is like okay Eren can't transform. Mikasa will go one way and I will go another. While one of us is getting killed Eren can escape the safe way. Mikasa agrees to this plan and Eren is like what the hell?! One of you will die!!! Eren is also like how can you fight Annie? Mikasa is like this world is cruel Eren....As Armin and Mikasa make it to opposite exits Annie Titan smashes the middle where Eren is. Down he goes. Mikasa whooshes and starts attacking, with back up finally arriving. Armin goes to help Eren who is pretty injured. A lot of soldiers start to become splats cakes despite having pretty advanced training. Jean shows up and tries to help dig Eren out. He grows upset that Eren can't transform. He is like Eff Annie, she killed my Marco! You transform now or else!! They try to dig him out but Annie thrashes around, causing more debris to fall on and in Eren. Jean and Armin leave Eren, to draw Annie Titan away from Eren. Annie gives chase and proceeds to scare the shit out of all the citizens. They eventually lead Annie Titan to plan C, Hange with more missile ropes. They pin Annie Titan down. Hange goes down to speak to Annie Titan, about how she will devour her. Only no one bothered to bind Annie Titan's feet. She kicks away and everyone was like...yeah that was fail. Eren is trying to remove himself from a giant pipe from his chest as he hears the battle. The Levi squad dying and his mom beating eaten fill his mind. He doesn't know if this is right or how Armin and Mikasa could fight so easily....but realizes Mikasa was right. This is a cruel world. He is able to transform. The others have a hard time fighting Annie Titan. Mikasa is eventually thrown to the ground. Eren Titan comes out of nowhere and smashes Annie in the face. THE END!!!

Are you trying to be a super main character like me?

How many episodes are left? One? If there is only one left...I know where it should stop. Like SHOCK cliffhanger!!! And then we can wait two more million years for the next season as there have been two arcs done since this point. And one of the arcs hasn't been finished and has contained about 100 pages of fighting. So yeah....savor these episodes now folks.

Yay for blood?!

Was it just me or was this episode way more graphic? I mean it wasn't as graphic as the manga. But when Annie Titan killed the ambushers we had people folded in half. Blood all over. Eren's wound was up and personal. All of them. Like woohoo our show is almost over, who cares about fines? Gore for all!!

And it all depends on you Eren WEEEE!

It's really hard to blame Eren for his hesitation to fight Annie Titan. Even if in the flashback it shows us Eren had 2 days to prepare for that. Is two days really enough though? Eren is a very passionate person when it comes to fighting Titans and protecting his friends. Not calling Eren dumb but...he has a one track mind. Humans good, Titans bad. Must fight Titans alongside my friends. Now that one of these Titan's are his friend....everything is opposite time. What is up is now down. Cats and dogs living together! Pure madness. So Eren taking the time to have a freak out made sense. Even if Annie Titan was reaching in to grab him. That is why Mikasa is the cold hearted fact person of this operation.

How did you guys put this together so fast?!

The flashback....well I am surprised we had one. It was like they knew I was talking about them. Like that Tenchi Blogger wants to understand the thought pattern behind this? Psht who cares what that Late Blogger wants. Of course there could have been a lot more explaining. Not that everything needs to be spelled out for the audience to understand. I just...you know....don't understand how Erwin knew about Annie Titan. A lot of lucky guesses I suppose. Or things we will never see.

Saddest moment of the episode. :(

Before Eren lost his mind in the flashback there was a really short but sad scene with Levi and Eren. Like really sad. The moment didn't last very long but you could just feel how upsetting it was. This was soon after the Scouting Fail. Everyone in Levi's squad minus Eren is dead. So there they sit, in their usual spots. But now the small table looks so large and empty as they sit in their usual spots and the people that should be there are no longer there. And will never be there again. Eren blames himself and I wonder if Levi blames Eren, himself, or the others. They told Eren not to transform. Levi told Eren to follow his heart. And Eren was more concerned about making friends and TRUST than doing what he thought he could do. Add in the fact that Levi can't even complain about his injury because HELLO everyone else is dead, can't really complain when you are alive right? It was just a really sad moment. :(

After that sad moment it was time to reveal to Eren the horrible truth. Jean was just (un)happy to be there. I wonder how picking Jean came about. Like um you know Annie killed your boyfriend? You on our side? Everyone else seemed to make sense. Then it became color by numbers for Eren. Which you know...might be color by numbers for everyone else. Because really, Annie had to take Marco's gear. She couldn't have taken anyone else's to hide her Titan killing ways. It is had to be Marco's and she had to stand next to Armin and Armin had been helping Marco clean his gear so he could memorize each scratch. Me thinks Marco was cheating on you Jean. Also depending on what translation you used another fact might have been lost. That Annie Titan recognized Eren's nickname. There was something else important about that scene but if Armin realized it he isn't saying anything at the moment. Erwin was more thinking that it was someone in the military...duh. Mikasa was straight up HELLO it looks like Annie. And fights like Annie. And if it's not Annie who the hell cares at this point?!

This episode should have been titled Mikasa's Crazy eye. Hot damn folks.

Mikasa....yeah she is like that. Eren is sitting there biting his arm out because he is so frustrated that he can't transform. Mikasa's face was so scary I almost made it every single screenie for this post. I was that X____X about it. Like hello Mikasa, this is not a time to be jealous. Her reasoning was very right but MOG the words coming out of her mouth. She was 5 seconds away from saying Eren wanted to have sex with Annie. No no Mikasa, Eren probably doesn't even know he has a penis. He was upset over a friend. Just should have focused more on the fact that this friend splatted a bunch of other friends and maybe that would have done it for Eren.

Err....don't you mean the Titans?

You know who else has a bad approach to everything? Nile. Poor stupid Nile. I am on the fence about this. On one hand maybe things would have gone a lot smoother had Erwin told Nile what was going on and that they could have worked together and pooled resources to make this work. Like strength in numbers. And you know....they would be prepared in case things went bad. Not running around or pissing their pants. But on the other hand....Nile is dumb and egoistical and an asshole. He would have said no, shot Erwin on the spot, and chopped Eren up into tiny pieces himself. Because he can. You would think that maybe he is just jaded and is just looking out for humanity, in the same way Erwin is playing a numbers game. But even when there is a Titan running around and killing people Nile is still holding Erwin at gun point. Because he is a dumbass.

SAY WHAT?!

Armin is not a dumbass though. He might be a mini Erwin though. He was like okay if Eren can't transform we must help him escape. Mikasa, one of us is about to die let's do this! Armin has grown so much in a short period of time. Mikasa was okay with dying too but she has been like that for Eren from the start. Like I really don't think it was Armin's plan to scare Eren into transforming. I don't think he was using fear. That truly was Armin's plan. X____X Badass Armin.

All or nothing!

None of that matters though because Annie Titan was like um yeah things are looking bad so I am going to go all out. She wants to capture Eren. We don't know why. But maybe plan B for her is to kill Eren? Then no one can learn their secrets. Whoever their is because Eren doesn't know at this point. But maybe Annie Titan knew Eren was going to be okay? While Mikasa was actually fighting the enemy for once and not screaming Eren's name Armin was hard at work saving Eren. Which is probably a good thing for him as a lot of other soldiers were being smashed on the ground. Way to play it safe Armin. XD Oh and look Jean showed up. He was pissed. He was in between Armin and Mikasa. Or at a more sane and equally upset version of Mikasa. Like dude you knew the plan. SHE KILLED MY BOYFRIEND! You need to man up and kill her before she kills the rest of us too. Like we know Annie was our friend but clearly she was lying to us and you need to put your feelings aside. MARCO MARCO MARCO!

Let's pretend that didn't happen.

There was a plan C. But it was so embarrassing I might not want to mention it. Just hope it runs away into the corner of my mind. Okay I will mention it. Plan C was to lure the Female Titan to a certain part of the city and tie her down with hook missiles. Sound familiar? Yeah because that is what happened during the Scouting Fail. Only.....Annie Titan should have been captured. There was no other Titans around to eat her way to freedom. But I guess the Scouting Legion was operating on a shoe string budget and she got away. Hange was so cocky too....

I WILL KILL THEM ALL!

While this fail is going down Eren and the giant piece of debris in his chest have a heart to heart. Or maybe it stabbed his heart. Either way Eren realized he needed to do something. He might not have all the answers but for right now Titans are the enemy. He doesn't want people to think he is the enemy but so far all he has done is help humanity. All Annie has done is get people killed. She might not have killed Marco or his mom directly but she did kill the entire Levi squad. That should be enough for Eren right? If a human killed his friends he would want revenge right? Eren is able to power up at that thought and managed to punch Annie in the face before Mikasa got splatted again. Now will Eren be able to take out Annie or will he let her live? HMMMM folks. I just hope the show ends with the special cliffhanger that might happen. Cross yo fingers!

Shingeki no Kyojin episode 23

Hello there my lovely and hopefully patient readers. How is life treating you? My days seem to go by at the speed of fast. I have a list of things to do and there are never enough hours in the day to do them all. But I am sure that is an issue most people face in life. XD Nothing special here.

Surely it can't get any worse?

In an attempt to catch up.....before Fall 2013 anime season (which I think is the first week of October yes?) here is some anime weeee! Shingeki no Kyojin no episode 23 time. Spoilers for....who be the Female Titan?

Almost like they are happy about this?!

Episode Summary: After our daily recaps of how things failed, we get to see life inside the super inner wall. It appears a lot of rich people live there. A lot of talk about how the Scouting Legion failed all over the place. Some people suggest just sealing the gates and one dude flips his shit. Like loses his mind. Do not touch the sacred walls. It is revealed he is apart of the crazy wall cult, those who worship them. People walk away from the crazy still talking about the Scouting Legion. Annie is the last to wake up and join her squad who are lined up for...something. Annie is teased by a girl but Annie ignores her. Their superior walks up and explains that the Scouting Legion is coming through today and that it will include Eren. Since all the higher ups are busy they must provide cover for them as you know...people are pissed. One soldier in Annie's squad, Marlo, questions this mission so the superior hands him the paper work and puts him in charge. It is then revealed that all the superiors are “busy” playing a poker game. The fresh face soldiers grumble as they get ready for the mission. Marlo in particular is upset about how the work is getting passed on to them. Everyone else is upset too but agrees that newbies do all the work and shit rolls downhill. Marlo says when he has power/in charge he will change things. That he isn't a typical military police soldier, he is different. The girl from earlier can't stop laughing, falling to the ground. She is shocked that people like Marlo exist. Others state a certain type of person joins the military, police, not a good person, Marlo claims he is a person who won't let things happen, he will do something. Annie speaks up, saying she knows someone like Marlo. That this person (Eren) has grand ideas. But most people fall into a different category. Marlo confidently states he is like the friend. Or the friend is stupid and he is not.

You can do it Marlo!

The squad walk along and they see two older soldiers selling military equipment to someone on the black market. Marlo is super outraged and want to do something about it. He walks up with confidence but meekly tells the two what they did was wrong. The older soldiers laugh as Marlo stutters his way to his response. The two soldiers then get pissed someone younger is questioning them and proceed to beat him up. Everyone else looks on uncomfortably for the first few hits. Annie eventually steps forward and grabs one by the hand, saying the beating should be enough, no need to kill or turn Marlo in. The girl also points out a huge crowd has gathered and maybe they should stop? The two old soldiers walk away as Marlo reaches for his fallen gun. Annie says if Marlo shoots he will support him. Marlo tries but loses his resolve. He cries, saying he is the stupid person and Annie's friend is better. Annie looks on, saying she is fighting for the weak. The convoy starts to move out, to location after location. Annie is running along when she hears Armin. She finds him all cloaked and decked in maneuver gear. He explains that Eren is going to be turned over to the military police to most likely be killed. Armin needs the help of the military police to escape. Annie wants to know how this could possibly end well. Armin explains he has a plan but requires time. In that time they are just going to keep Eren from harm. This seems to make sense to Annie but she refuses to help. She won't turn them in but she doesn't want to get involved. She asks if that makes her a bad person. Armin says people aren't good or bad all the time, that it is all relative. And since Annie won't help him, she is a bad person. Tada Annie agrees to help, putting a ring on in the process. They meet up with Eren and Mikasa. They are surprised at how easy this all has been but still hurry as Jean doesn't look like Eren at all. Annie asks some questions about how this is all going to go down and seems okay with the answers. It isn't until they reach an underground tunnel that Annie stops. She refuses to go down there as she is a little girl scared of the dark. Eren brushes this off at first, like man up and come on. Annie stays put. She notes that no one has been around for a while so are they all still worried? In the buildings tons of street clothed soldiers are waiting for Armin to give the signal. Armin asks Annie why she had Marco's gear on inspection day. She states that she found it. He asks why she killed the two captured Titans. She starts acting hurt at this deceit. Armin asks why Annie spared him in Female Titan form. Annie says she doesn't know. Eren starts to get upset, saying there is still time for Annie to come in the tunnel, that this is all a mistake. Annie done loses her mind, laughing like a crazy person. Like she turns into Annie Stripper, blushing and what not. She states she had failed to be a warrior and goes to hurt herself when Armin gives the signal. Annie is restrained by the soldiers but Mikasa sees the ring has a needle in it. Mikasa pulls Eren and Mikasa into the tunnels just as Annie transforms, killing all those people. THE END!

Hopefully this is not the longest summary ever (um it is). It is hard to eyeball it at work. Sometimes I write super tiny so it's hard to see when it has become too much on a page. Me thinks it is long though.

Did I mention there were some crazy people? Because there were.

Oh and rejoice. The identity of the female Titan has been revealed. Annie come on down!! Now I think it was a lot easier to tell who the Female Titan was based on physical characteristics. Armored Titan and Colossal Titan especially one really could not guess by looking at the human themselves. With the anime Female Titan...yeah...it was sightly obvious at times. The manga one was less detailed. So we aren't all special for not knowing.

Annie?

But the characters in the anime....they know it was Annie for other reasons. Some good and some bad. Like really, REALLY?! Also yeah...when was the Female Titan ever a suspect to begin with? Erwin was all like who is the real enemy Eren? Um the Colossal Titan and Armored? How did Eren even know to look for the Female Titan. Her job was to bring the other Titans to the wall. Unless there is a fleeting flashback of Erwin's returning to the destroyed wall and seeing someone in gear of over the wall...I still don't know why this scouting mission was set up. To capture the other two humanoid Titans and surprise. There was a third one all along? I SEE with my eyes.

You totally pissed you didn't get to capture Eren?

First things first though. We have to make an attempt to know Annie. Because we really haven't seen much of her up until this point. She beat Eren's ass as a cadet (actually an important point), saw Eren turn into a Titan, and saw half of Marco staring up at her. Oh and she talked to Armin when their gear was getting inspected. But Annie has been MIA for the last 10 episodes as she is in the military police, not the decimated Scouting Legion like everyone else. Time to see if we can understand Annie better before she is killed.

It looks like there is way less direction in the military police than the Scouting Legion. Of course we saw Hannes getting drunk on the job with the Garrison. Maybe both branches are lazy and the Scouting Legion just has to be serious. But yeah Annie just strolled up barely on time. Their superiors couldn't care less if they saluted. And of course the whole the superiors don't want to do any work. I mean...I am use to this. Both at my job and with my husband. Really with the husband. The higher rank you are the less you seem to do. Just...so much lazy with this regime though.

Them are fighting words!

But on some level everyone accepts it. Well most of them. Marlo....had he not been picked to lead the mission would he have been that upset? I'm not sure. The rest of the squad was upset and pissed but were going to do what they were told. Like this is just how it is going to be. Perhaps some of them are biting their tongues, biding their time. Because one day they hope that will be there. They will be in a position to sit on their asses and do nothing. Because they knew the system before going in. Like I know it's corrupt but since it could help me one day I will suck it up for now.

Someone might be judgey judgey.

Marlo seems different. Or he wants to be different. This could be a case of thou protest too much? But perhaps Marlo is a genuine person. Or wants to be one. Like no guys, this isn't right. Everyone should pull their weight. We need to work together. Just because we are new doesn't mean we should just take this. And he's right. I think everyone should do the job assigned to them. If it's too much ask for help. Do not assign the task to them and run away. So I think Marlo was right in that aspect. And I think the others knew his idea was right. Just...at this point it's not how things are. Basically Marlo is living in a fantasyland and the rest of the world lives in realityland. Marlo has grand ideals. Ideals that don't apply to them now. The other girl laughed hard because she thought everyone knew the game, how things really were. But Marlo might be true. Maybe he did join to change things. That he saw how corrupt things were and wanted to be a good shiny example of an honest soldier. So I am sure that people laughing at Marlo was hard for him. They might assume he is self righteous and that might be true. But maybe Marlo is more?

We won't win against Titans unless we band together folks!

All of this was being shown of course to show how awful humans were. Annie briefly spoke up but mainly watched. As she is running around killing other humans I am sure she doesn't hold humanity in high regards. So this was all a SEE moment. As was the trading guns moment. Like how shitting are you human beings? So much suck all over the place. I might be rollin my eyes at just how out in the moment this was. Like this military might be full of fail and slack but there has to be some limited. Even normal citizens could see. But look at how crappy all the soldiers are, right in front of Annie's face.

Just probably folks.

Marlo got his ass beat. Now being an American I was like YES stand up against those doing wrong. In Japan thought being younger and lower rank means a lot. So for Marlo to even say anything was a big deal. That's why he had such nerves. As for everyone else standing around doing nothing...I am sure they all wanted to do something. But human beings often worry about themselves. Like this is going to end poorly for all of us so I might as well do nothing and glue the guy back together afterward. Since Annie is...well a Titan she doesn't really have to follow social norms.

Beat them? Yes. Kill? Probably not.

Should Marlo have shot the soldiers? I don't know about that. That is extreme. The punishment needs to fit the crime. Of course the other soldiers took it to extremes first. Annie is all for dramatic justice though. Like I would have helped you dude. Which doesn't help Marlo. Nor the idea that Eren might have pulled the trigger. I don't think Eren would have shot the soldiers. Maybe hit them back. So now Marlo thinks he is weak and Annie thinks Eren is something he isn't? Yay soldiers!!

Annie probably should have asked more questions...

So about 5 minutes into the convoy Armin is able to pull Annie aside. We gots to save Eren! It was like a game of cat and mouse. On one hand it made sense how Annie and Armin talked to each other. Annie really did deserve to know what was going on if she was going to stick her neck out for them. Armin really did need to keep it a secret to protect Annie in case things went bad. However if Annie was the Titan of course she would want to know the plan so she could wait to save Eren herself. If Annie was a Titan of course Armin isn't telling her shit.

Armin was probably super close to exploding at this point.

Are you a good person Annie? Hmmmmmm I guess we can say for a fact that Annie is not a good person. She has killed so many people I don't think it matters at this point her reason. Surely not all the people who died were guilty of whatever crime the humanoid Titans think happen. Or is happening. SO why does Annie help Armin? She did put her ring on after Armin explained to her the concept of being a good person or bad (which I enjoyed). Was that because she was just being cautious? Like I don't trust anyone, you humans? Or was she trying to take Eren for herself?

Poor Eren...he is so devastated.

Either way Armin and especially Eren really tried. Tried to help Annie. Mikasa not so much. She stayed quite the which I guess was enough to help in her eyes. But as they were escaping they still talked to Annie. Made her feel as if she was a big help. Even as it became increasingly obvious no one else was on the street, this was way too easy, and who would think Giant Jean was Eren?!

This subbing made Annie seem even more insane. X___X

Still the boys tried. After Annie gave her bullshit reason for not wanting to go in the tunnel (little girl...please!) Eren was practically begging for Annie to come in. Prove you are like me and not a threat. I don't want to lose anymore people Annie. Armin almost detached himself from the situation. Like why did you have Marco's equipment? Which is a GOOD question. I doubt Annie killed Marco. He had a bite out of his face. She probably was upset over his body because she lead the Titans there. But why did she steal his gear? Or any gear? To have back up in case when she transforms and something goes wrong? I mean I didn't understand how they were going to tell how someone recently killed a Titan with it. Considering this happened after the Fall of the Wall.

Why is Armin so.....creepy in knowing that?

But apparently Armin is super Armin. He has nothing better to do than look at people's gears and memorize every single little crack. Like what the hell? So yes folks that is how Armin knew Annie was at least a liar and up to something. Perhaps had Armin voiced his small concern back then we wouldn't have as many dead? Or maybe there would be more dead I don't know. That was a good question. Like um you had no problem turning everyone else into a human yoyo why did you save me, Jean, and Reiner? She made quick work of everyone else. Perhaps Annie is a cold hearted killer but even those people need friends. Thus she didn't directly kill Marco and probably knows not killing those three boys was a mistake but one she would make again just because they are “friends”.

What the hell is this?!?!

So Annie proceeded to lose her damn mind all over the place. Like damn girl it might almost be checkmate time but what was up with her face?! I can understand her evil laughter. That seemed like the correct response to the situation. The situation of suck. But the weird ass blushy face? Like she was trying to seduce them? Surely that isn't the real Annie. And if it is they didn't do enough to make me believe it. I would have wanted a voice change or something else. Like oh sweet Eren, sweet Armin. You have no idea. Crazy girl.

Maybe Mikasa can take on sleepy Annie?

The episode ends with Mikasa wanting to hack Annie into pieces. Which I support. But yeah Annie ain't no amateur. She was like Bit me bitches I have my ring and it's Titan time. I suspect the other humanoid Titans have plans too, in case this happens. Annie and her boy scout self were prepared. So to recap Annie is the Female Titan, Armin knew this from the world's smallest detail, and now Eren is once again in danger from being captured. YAY HUMANS!
