Maoyuu Maou Yuusha episode 12 FINAL EPISODE!

 photo maouepisode1213_zps297e68f9.jpg
Um are you alive?
X______X I need to leave for work in 5 seconds! Here is Maoyuu Maou Yuusha episode 12, the "final" episode of this series. Sorta weird but spoilers for....um things not ending at all?
 photo maouepisode1212_zps5eb5e391.jpg
Um how...?
Episode Summary: Winter King and his people are like...who is this strange person sitting on the throne? Oh it is Mage and each of her personalities has a message from Demon King. Although this plan was made when there was no war at all....Mage will still state it in as many voices as possible. Demon King has the cure for small pox, a disease that kills millions a year. She wants them to use that vaccine to their advantage. Oh and she is a demon. Mage then passes out from all this news while Winter King is like...interesting? Hero holds his own against Demon King as she smiles all wicked like. She is not our Demon King screams Head Maid. Hero reminds Demon King what this was all about, she was just renewing her contract and that she must stay true to herself. The more Hero talks the more the memories flow in and Demon King gets pissed that her happy reunion has been ruined. She forces out the past evil kings and smiles at Hero. They manage to glue Head Maid's arm back on and things are...just calm. Like oh hi I missed you oh I missed you too. Hero informs Demon King all of what Youth Maid has done and what is going on in the human realm. Knight's constant “gifts” to the Central Kingdom have started to take their toll. The horse don't look that great and the food is starting to run out. Soldiers gather around and complain about their situation. The higher ups brought money with them as it is easier to transport but now with prices the way they are no one is selling and they are starving.
 photo maouepisode124_zps2e229ddd.jpg
You talking to me?!?!
Knight is hoping to hold out with no battle but there is news that a mercenary group heading their way. She promises to keep causalities down. It then breaks down into...some boring war strategies that actually work. Knight has speed and land on her side, as the enemy would have to come at them in awkward ways. The enemy commanders are unable to understand this strategy and press on despite being at a disadvantage. After experiencing many causalities the mercenary group falls back and soon snow forces the entire army to retreat. Knight and Crimson Scholar's student Young Warrior take charge of dealing with the injured, no matter what side of the line they are on. This does not matter to the man who has been “wrong” during the Gateway City incident, Mr. One Eye. He has snuck into the city even though Young Warrior (recently promoted) is on high alert. Mr. One Eye is after Crimson Scholar as he thinks she is to blame for everything. Youth Maid and Child Maid were hard at work creating more books/pamphlets when Mr. One Eye comes in and roughs them up. Before a main character can be killed Young Warrior comes in to protect the girls. He gets tore up pretty bad but his smarts to protect himself rather than arm himself leads to victory and Mr. One Eye missing his brains. There is a lot of finger pointing going on at Central along with the Blue Demons that Mage teleported away. The Blue Demons were promised land and protected as long as they kept up their side of the “war”. Now that the humans are fighting each other they have sided with Central. Church leaders appear and talk about how they will have another Crusade. They believe they will win this time around as they have stolen technology from the Iron Country, where Demon King had given those people plans on how to make guns.

Meanwhile Demon King reveals herself to all of her people, a bit nervous as Head Maid explains she is not very popular given she doesn't fight that much. Hero appears to help give her a bit of an edge, maybe too much. The crowd is worked up and thinks that Demon King is proposing going to war with the humans. Demon King barely gets out she wants to meet with each species leader before giving up. During all of this Young Merchant has not sat by and done nothing. He has used this momentary truce to set up trades between the demons and the southern countries. This is all thanks to the potatoes that are feeding Central and Young Merchant riding out the currency changes. Dragon Princess is also pleased as this opens up the salt trades for her people. Back at home Demon King talks with Youth Maid, that this didn't all work out how she wanted but the duel currency systems should help. Demon King and Knight also have a talk, about how they are friends and that Knight “gave it” to Hero. Everyone seems to agree as they gather for dinner that Youth Maid really provided the spark for the future and that maybe they are on step closer to the other side of the hill. That apparently involved putting boobies in Hero's face. THE END!

For the people!
X____X Well then. It seems that all shows this season are going to end rather oddly. At least in my book. The only one that has ended semi decently is one about how BLEAK everything probably will be. But given the setting of that show it actually works.
 photo maouepisode1210_zps64607dc9.jpg
Just so casual. Oh yeah he is in demon realm duh.
But with this show....it really didn't end. X___X More like and next week there will be an episode 13? Oh wait this is it for season 1?! Quick sorta wrap things up and leave it open ended at the same time so if there is a season two we can just pick back up again. I understand that anime is super expensive to make and that companies can't risk making 24 episodes at a time. Still I found the pacing of this episode really odd, like it did the rest of the 11 episodes a disservice.
 photo maouepisode1215_zps323cfbe6.jpg
What about the hill?!
The battle between Demon King and Hero didn't last long. Not that I thought it was going to. Mainly because I thought they were going to head to the Central Kingdom verses the South battle so they needed to wrap up being possessed and all really fast. So for that to go by fast it made sense. Sad that Head Maid couldn't connect to Demon King at all. I know that Demon King loves Hero more but she could have had a flicker of recognition with Head Maid and be totally healed when she saw her Hero. The aftermath was kinda funny though. Glue that arm back on and go, who cares if you were trying to kill us five seconds ago!
 photo maouepisode1217_zps4929b952.jpg
Thanks for the healing magic?
But Hero and Demon King never flew off to battle. X___X Speaking of which Hero seemed to have a lot of magic under his use yes? I thought he had magic because of items that Demon King gave him. But it seems that he has some other kinds of magics yes? Mage seemed aware of them in any event. Kinda makes her a bit useless yes if many other people can use magic?
 photo maouepisode12_zpsa405d144.jpg
Clearly too hungry for battle!
Back to what I was saying though. There was no epic battle between the Central Kingdom and the Southern one. Again not that I thought there was going to be an ACTUAL battle...what with the magical snow and everyone's desire for there to be no battle. But I did think that Demon King was going to try and stop it, that there was going to be some speech given. Or she was going to be sneaky about something which would cause the Central Kingdom to agree to the independence of the other kingdoms and go on their way.
 photo maouepisode1211_zpsf8f54a43.jpg
This explains nothing! Or everything.
Instead Mage and her multiple personality self starts talking about small pox? I was trying to follow what the crazy girl was saying what with the switching and not. So....Demon King has the cure of small pox and the Southern Kingdom was going to give it to the Central Kingdom in exchange for a cease fire? Is that what happened? I am not sure I follow that train of thought. If the Central Kingdom is going to use potatoes as a reason to go to war what would they do with this vaccine? I mean obviously it is not a lie but the Central Kingdom has been using these tactics all along. Also what is stopping them from taking the vaccine and chopping off their arms later? Maybe this was a momentary cease fire as the Southern armies do not have enough soldiers and Central Kingdom was losing backers of the war.
 photo maouepisode123_zps27296426.jpg
Look at me, leading armies and winning.
But that is not to say that there was not a skirmish or two in this episode. Central was probably all ready for all out war despite morale and food supplies being down and the horses being sick. A small mercenary group was sent out, probably to see just what the Southern Kingdom was all about. Little did they know that Knight has a lot up her sleeves. Of course most of it was lost on me. XD Clearly I know little about battles outside Pokemon. It had a lot to do with hit and run. Like bam no drawn out battle, just keep thinning out your opponent until they are tired and outnumbered. It is a bit sad that the opposing forces allowed it to go that far. Wasting resources indeed.
 photo maouepisode1214_zps35a43e77.jpg
Everyone is going to get rich and get hot babes?
Which really leads back to Young Merchant. I am not sure if he meant things to work out the way that they did. That the army would slowly starve and bring morale down. But in terms of what happened with him.....everything really went Young Merchant's way. War is good for business but it seems peace might be good as well? Which also makes sense. If everyone is happy and working hard there is more money to spend on goods? Since most humans are still scared of demons Young Merchant really got in on that front. And maybe made a new girlfriend?
 photo maouepisode125_zps051aa6ef.jpg
Well hello there guns.
But these good times are not going to last long folks. Central Kingdom is just waiting for another time to strike. Well and spending some time blaming each other for this huge mess. It is revealed that the Blue Demons have been working with Central to keep up the war. Yay for money. I think it is kinda late in the game to introduce these characters. I guess if there is going to be a second two maybe the timing is perfect but it would be nice to have see glimpses of this beforehand. Now why is Central going to try attacking again one day? Seems that Demon King introducing all this technology into the world might turn against her. Did she consider that these guns might fall into enemy hands? Hmmmmm.
 photo maouepisode1216_zpsdff88d43.jpg
Oppies almost splatting times.
Also these good times were almost not to be. It seems that Youth Maid and Child Maid are magnets to drama. In this entire city full of injured and soldiers and guards and what not...Mr. One Eye was able to find them. He has a lot of anger inside his heart does he not? He basically did it to himself but being a crazy person he was didn't see that. I thought it was a bit special that Young Warrior was able to find Mr. One Eye so fast. Not that Mr. One Eye was great at covering his own tracks....but while Young Warrior might not be the strongest he was smarter than Mr. One Eye. That seems to be a reoccurring theme in this show....
 photo maouepisode127_zps94a75108.jpg
NO! Make love to the humans not war!!!
Now that there is momentary peace in the human world Demon King decides it is time to see her people. If you think about it she has not seen them in a LONG time. I am surprised that she wasn't overthrown or replaced at this point. She seem to have some favor in the crowd but Hero is the ones who really got them all up and arms. A little sad that all this work Demon King does basically goes down the drain as they all want to go to war. Clearly she should have been working on both kingdoms, not just the human ones. XD I sense a big mistake.
 photo maouepisode126_zps763734fe.jpg
Um...I am sure this will have something to do with season 2...this giant magic seal.
Then the episode just goes really fast. BAM Demon King is thanking Youth Maid...you know...for starting the revolution and getting her ass kicked in the meantime. BAM Demon King and Knight reaffirm their friendship while talking about IT. BAM everyone sits around the table and everything is peaceful and they are halfway to the hill.
 photo maouepisode129_zpsc65a45a0.jpg
Um.....this is it?
And that is about it.......like.....where is the real ending? It really felt like episode 12, next week episode 13. Really, really, REALLY open ended. And...almost not enjoyable? Like I felt very much schooled and that I wasn't really watching an anime at times, that I was watching history in very bright colors. It was hard to connect to these people as they represent an idea thus no names. Like well what would history be like if we had someone magical give out all the technologies that would shape our world today? I guess we got our answer and more will come given the ending. I don't know...just seems empty to me.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha episode 11

Hello there my lovely readers! Obviously I meant to get done blogging Maoyuu Maou Yuusha before...well yesterday so I could start off this anime season on the right foot, all caught up and all. Well clearly that did not happen. XD But soon Winter 2013 will be behind me and it is on to Spring! Just wish that Spring would hurry up and come in real life. Doesn't the weather know I live in Florida? Gosh what is wrong with you coldness?!
 photo maouepisode118_zps4fa6f888.jpg
Um...me thinks that face is the face of a liar?
But in any event here is Maoyuu Maou Yuusha episode 11 time! Almost done woohoo! Spoilers for....well all the characters off doing their own thing to make the world a better place. Or to make a ton of money. Same thing for some I suppose.
 photo maouepisode119_zps4800c992.jpg
And then everyone is poor. X___X
Episode Summary: The merchants have all gathered together talking about what to buy and such. Friend Merchant comes in and announces that the church is officially backing the new currency. There is a LOT of talk about the exchange rate and how the Kingdom could make a lot of money in the process. After this meeting Young Merchant along with Dragon Princess meet with King Demon's student who is now a merchant, Mustache Merchant. They basically pat each other on the back due to all the amazing things they have done recently. Young Merchant eventually gets down to business, talking about 4 points that will really help him in the long run but maybe benefit Mustache Merchant too. Mustache Merchant is a bit shocked about the demon clause of the agreement though. Elsewhere the Central Army and their allies have started to gather. They smirk at the local farmer's effort to be in their good graces by giving over food to the horses and such. Little does the army know is that the food has been tainted by Knight to keep the horses slow. More elsewhere Child Maid and Youth Maid have gone to Iron Kingdom to hand out more teachings from Crimson Scholar. They become friends with Young Warrior. Thanks to these books people are leaving White Night Country to go live in Iron Kingdom. White Night King and Mr. One Eye are not pleased with this new development. They plan on stealing the serfs back. Later on Youth Warrior is seen really protecting the fronts from the first attack and keeping causalities down.
 photo maouepisode1111_zps84030c4a.jpg
What the hell is on your head?!
The main attack center of Knight, Hero, and White King gather to talk about how totally outnumbered they are going to be. News of another army, of Blue Demons, heading their way on the opposite flank is awful news. Hero offers to take care of the situation himself but doesn't want to actually fight. He heads to the path the Blue Demons are traveling and gets discouraged with himself. Hero looks on at all the demons and how he can get out of this situation without any death. He lists all the people he wants to help and how he doesn't want to let Demon King down. Suddenly Mage appears and thanks Hero for mentioning her in the saving speech. She agrees to help him and tells Hero to get ready to do his magic too. Mage and her multiple personalities uses most of her reserved magics to transport all the demons...well elsewhere. Hero then uses his magic to destroy the portal to the demon realm. Mage instructs his virgin self to go through it and he finds out that the demon realm has actually been under ground and not somewhere else the entire time. Hero continues flying towards the castle as Head Maid struggles to get away from possessed Demon King. Demon King has emerged from her contract renewal but has been taken over by the past Kings and has chopped of Head Maid's arm. Head Maid tried to trap her in the room but it won't hold for long. Hero busts through the ceiling and falls through the huge door. Demon King greets him warmly but Head Maid and her missing arm warn that she is not herself, that she has been possessed by all the evil Demon Kings of past. Demon King smiles and takes out her sword but Hero is able to match her blow. THE END!

You are still involved in this craziness? I forgot about you.
X____X That....that was a whole lot. Like this post is going to be a whole lot of all over the placeness because that is episode is all about. This part of the world exploding into craziness apparently. Bare with my post. XD Bear? Bare. I think anyway.
 photo maouepisode1110_zps84402d51.jpg
This sounds like very serious business.
There was so much going on with the prices of wheat and new currencies and blah. Good thing I am not in the financial business. My head might explode, especially if think about these things on a global level. You got to think about this and that and try to figure out how someone will respond to you so you can be ready to respond to them but they might be thinking three steps ahead too. Dear lord. Maybe reality TV has melted my brain because that was too much for me to handle. Also...might I add....that I watched these two episodes back to back and some of the information got a bit messed up in terms of what happened in episode 11 and what happened in episode 12. X___X There was so much going on I guess my brain tried to put things together that made the most sense and I only realized my wrongness after I took the screenies. Sorry face. Everything did happen though I promise!
 photo maouepisode114_zps97079ecc.jpg
I am trying! But it's almost like watching school!
Of course on some level I do understand what is going on. It seems when things get tough it is time to make new money and try to separate yourself from the situation. These obviously works when you are different countries but when it first happens things can collapse fast. Like when the United States decided that they needed to go to war within its borders and Confederate money hit the stage. Now clearly that didn't work out and many people were out tons of money after the fact. That is what I thought was happening with the money situation. But maybe after all is said and done everything will become its own country and this money situation will become normal.
 photo maouepisode1114_zpsc77085f3.jpg
Like a wonderful game that involves the entire continent's money!
What was important though was the characters seemed to know what was going on. Mustache Merchant was like HMMM you are doing this to cause this. Young Merchant didn't seem too concerned that he was going to lose some money in this confusion. But I guess he was 3 steps of the game anyway. And maybe he always planned on taking all his wheat (his currency) to the south where things are stable. He does seem to be heading that direction, by all the questions and terms he was coming at Mustache Merchant with. Funny how Mustache Merchant didn't really counter or really do much of anything. Maybe Young Merchant had things framed in such a way it was a good deal and had to be acted on.
 photo maouepisode1115_zps6c793790.jpg
Oh and you're a demon. Potatoes and demons!
Important thing to note was Young Merchant brought Dragon Princess and her concerns in on this matter. Now one could say that was just more money. Get the demons the salt and they will be open to trade. It is all about the benjamins. But I think there is more to the story than that. Sometimes when you want something you have to work over time for it, leave it for last. Ask for other things at first, that are easier to swallow. But instead of doing that Young Merchant put his most outrageous demand on the table. Could this be love? Maybe Young Merchant has changed the most.
 photo maouepisode115_zps6e5eebff.jpg
So casually they look. XD
There was war all over the place. Slightly disappointed that we didn't see more from the Winter King. I thought they were going to do the snow dance gosh!!!! Really not much happened on the main battle front. I guess they are saving that for episode 12. The main battler where it is stopped by Demon King and Hero declaring their love or....make some magical fireball that makes everyone love each other. XD
 photo maouepisode117_zps6b174a1f.jpg
I would be checking that food if I were you guys!
But just because there was no battle on the main front doesn't mean that things weren't happening. And it was mostly Knight's idea. Who knew she was so crafty? Maybe she has picked up some things from Demon King. Give the villagers some tainted food (TAINTED MEAT) and have them use that as “offerings' to the Central Armies so their fields wouldn't be trampled. I mean...you usually don't accept gifts from your enemies. But the army probably saw these farmers as poor idiots who were desperate to protect what they had. Like sure we will take your sad little offerings....as all the horsies got sick. Don't die little horsies.
 photo maouepisode1113_zpsf94e988e.jpg
See this would make me worry even more X___X
If things weren't looking grim for the Southern kingdom and their alliances...well a battle on their opposite flank would probably not be a good thing. You know? XD Like really, I have to go up against a bigger kingdom with a larger army and now I got some Blue Demons on this side? I thought it was a bit special that Hero said he was going to take care of them alone. And everyone was okay with that. I would have been like no...maybe you need some backup. Maybe everyone knows not to question anyone at this point. Just like...okay go do your best.
 photo maouepisode1116_zps50668635.jpg
At least you are trying dude!
I am not sure what Hero was going to do with the Blue Demons though. He gets to where they are and there are tons of them. Perhaps he could have blew up the path they were on? I don't know. I don't think he knew either. He did get a little down on himself for not knowing either. That all he can do is destroy things. Well everyone is life has their role to play. Some people are good at many things and others are only good at one. His tasks have been important so being all doom and gloom was a bit much.
 photo maouepisode11_zpsb7e1f0bf.jpg
I know I was surprised too!
So........Mage just came out of nowhere didn't she? Just bam hello I am here to help you with your plan you don't have. It was a bit much for me. We know that Hero went off long ago to find Mage but ended up in Gateway City and got caught up in the drama that was happening in that place. Mage seemed to be important to Hero but we haven't seen her at all, unless you count those three seconds in the last episode. It is kind of late in the game for me to care about her. Maybe she sleeps all the time to build up magic? I don't know, it is a lot to try and digest when she isn't sticking around long enough to care about. All that matters is that she matters to Hero?
 photo maouepisode116_zpsd7cad01b.jpg
Who care where you are?! Go and lose your virginity!
After Mage transports all the Blue Demons elsewhere (yay for everyone living) Hero is transported to the demon realm. Which...has been underground the entire time? Which you know doesn't seem like much of a big deal to me but meant a lot for Hero. Maybe they thought if the demons were from somewhere else it would make them way too different to understand? To relate to? Either way Hero was shocked. Shock and awe!
 photo maouepisode112_zps234c6b79.jpg
My what a nice shadow you have there....
The episode ends with Hero making it to the demon palace at the speed of fast. Which would be the palace/castle we saw in episode 1 was a false one, just a front. Either way Hero made it there at the speed of fast. Which is good because Head Maid only has one arm left. Mortal Kombat indeed. Will Hero be able to reach Demon King so they can save both worlds? They need to or else no one will see the other side of the hill. THE HORRORS!

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha episode 10

 photo maoyuuepisode104_zpsee0ff2f2.jpg
Who is guarding all of this?!
Third post of the night and then it is time for bed. Got to be ready to be HAPPY HAPPY at work tomorrow. As I roll my eyes. But there is a Zoo Trip and Downtown Disney Trip in the works so April should have some fun in it. You go to work and say okay just XX more days til this and time should go by faster? But anyway it is Maoyuu Maou Yuusha episode 10 time. Spoilers for so much wheat!
 photo maoyuuepisode1013_zpsd47f6bf0.jpg
Let them eat cake! I love cake. XD
Episode Summary: Everyone...is pretty upset about what happened in episode 9. Like everyone sits around a table and says how they are sorry their actions have reflected poorly on the nation and how the Central Kingdom will probably come in and destroy them. The Queen of Bard Kingdom seems less upset about all this nonsense and tries to figure out ways to get out of this mess. Not only are the people behind Crimson Scholar but they are also really riding her ideas of freedom. So the way to really regain control of things and stand out would be the free the serfs. Other ideas on the table is to make it so that Central Kingdom residents could come and live in the Southern territory. They make use of Demon King's printing press to send out fliers and such announcing that they are separating from the main church and creating a new church. That way people wouldn't feel like nonbelievers and could come over to their side. But since most serfs can't read this plan really doesn't lead to much. The Bard Queen suggests using songs but Youth Maid doesn't want them to talk about the church and get the serfs in trouble. Instead she rather them just sing about how wonderful it is in the Southern Kingdom. This and the fact that the armies of the Central Kingdom are all spaced out gives the Southern Kingdom time to think of better plans. In Central Kingdom Young Merchant has heard of the speeches and what not and decides he will act. He tells his black haired Merchant Friend that he will buy....basically all the wheat ever. No matter the prices. In fact he will be buying everything. If there is war they will get rich. If not he has a plan for that as well. He plans on making agreements with land owners that he will buy their wheat before that crop comes in and the price will be set it. Soon prices rise on everything, driving people into a crazy frenzy for wheat. Will the Central Kingdom be starved out of the war?
 photo maoyuuepisode108_zps320af743.jpg
A long way to get food.
No instead people start arriving to buy up everything in the Southern Kingdom as prices have no risen. Crimson Scholar's students, both the merchant and the other noble boy, find out this plot and run to the higher ups to tell them the only way to save their economy is to have tarrifs placed on all outgoing food. This will be another blow to the Central Kingdom. Over in Gateway City they have run out of some important supplies as well. With war in the human world looming the humans and demons in the city worry about what will happen to them. So the Dragon Princess goes and seeks out Young Merchant as she thinks they can do business together. Young Merchant sees dollar signs but maybe something else when he looks at Dragon Princess. Soon Central Kingdom really declares war and it will officially start in 11 days. Hero is very upset as he knows Demon King doesn't want this to end in bloodshed. He wants to put off the real war as long as possible as Demon King is still gone. Apparently this means that the Winter King needs to make it snow. While everyone does the snow dance there is a flashback when Head Maid and Demon King were making bad fashion choices in their youth. Head Maid didn't want Demon King to become King because part of the process is having your mind altered by the previous Kings. Demon King promises to remain herself and shows Head Maid a book. A human boy has just been born and will one day become the Hero. Head Maid points out that is even more reason not to become King. Demon King says that she wants to meet him and hopefully he won't kill her but instead show her her real fate. THE END!
 photo maoyuuepisode102_zps2e741a43.jpg
The church is acting pretty scary. X___X
Again I didn't see most of this coming. It is weird how all the characters are doing such things that will help the world out eventually but a lot of it hinges on what other characters are doing and plan on doing based on other characters and what not. Does that mean human nature is really predictable?
 photo maoyuuepisode107_zps7d190be5.jpg
So....tasty...
I don't know what I thought Young Merchant was going to do. I thought he had sent Merchant Student to spy on the council of 10 but instead the Merchant Student was doing the spying on Young Merchant. Which was probably the plan all along but you know. I don't know, I thought he was going to go up against other people and try to help Crimson Scholar and gain support for her.
 photo maoyuuepisode109_zps2d386543.jpg
Getting some tail on the side? XD
Maybe in a SUPER round about way Young Merchant is doing that. I mean he really thought he was increasing prices to starve out the Central Kingdom. That would have been pretty effective. You can't really stage a war when all your people are dying from hunger right? I am not really good with economics. I know I want to buy things so I save money. And if I don't have enough money I don't get them. So to me with ONE person really controlling the market is a bit brain hurting. But I guess when someone is throwing money at the situation anything is possible. Like BAM going to buy all the stuff, who can complain about that?
 photo maoyuuepisode1012_zps18f79e99.jpg
I think your pockets like this waltz too.
I guess I just thought Young Merchant was in this for the cause and the amount of money he was making on the situation left a bad taste in my mouth. I mean people can make money and should enjoy life. But what would happen to all the people who were starving in the mean time? If he was trying to punish the high up people it really wouldn't work. Maybe...he really was trying to get people to move to the Southern Kingdom and get them to buy their crops but it seems that this really benefited him more. Maybe there is more to his plan later but the idea that people were paying so much for gross food is...well gross.
 photo maoyuuepisode1014_zps0ee43c1a.jpg
So much sorry.
I thought it was sorta funny how depressed the rest of the characters were acting. Like how I would act in real life. I am going to be big and bad and stand up for people but the next day just die on the ground. But what these people did was on a huge level. Massive level. Like well I probably just got a bunch of people killed kinda level. So thus the moping. Mopping? Moping.
 photo maoyuuepisode10_zpsbc36dab7.jpg
You might want to free your face from that make-up.
I think they all bounced back fast. Or maybe they are just light years smarter than I am. Like okay we got people with sparks in them now. We can make the landowners happy but since the serfs out number then like 50 to 1 lets make the 50 happy. Of course the freeing of people should have come no matter what and not out of fear or to better their own position but I guess a victory is a victory. It also makes their kingdom look more desirable and maybe others will want to live there. The happier the people the better the outcome yes?
 photo maoyuuepisode103_zpsa12298b0.jpg
Sounding pretty familiar indeed.
Even without Demon King there to help out everyone was able to keep it together. Thought up plans that would work in their situation. Of course they were able to do that because of Demon King's forthought. The printing press really helped out. But there were things they did that were all on their own. Having a new but similar church. Where have I heard that before? But really it does work on the masses. These people still want to worship and follow the same deity but now they can do so under a new church. That way they won't feel like awful human beings and still support the Winter King.

Sing some happy songs and bring the people together.
While Youth Maid likes to get down on herself she really brings a different perspective to the table. Everyone else is someone...well what she considers important while she is a person of the people. She thinks about how things will affect them and what will work best of them. So instead of singing songs about a new church that will possibly get people in trouble sing about something bright and happy about the Southern Kingdom. I mean...that will still probably not go over well but you can't beat everyone or you will have no work force yes?

So much going on. Feels like a history class.
I think the tariff idea was a little out there. It sounds like there hasn't been that kind of tax before so to think it up that fast seems a bit out there. But totally necessary as raising prices as a whole would hurt their own people and what sense would that make? We need to keep these people happy. But obviously this tariff thing was not going to go over well. Not that anything at this point would. I guess the other kingdoms should be grateful they weren't attack as everything was so strained yes?
 photo maoyuuepisode1010_zps77f2908b.jpg
Well massive duh yes?
In the end everything seems to be working in their favor. Hero really started to beat up on himself. I don't know why since he isn't the one who ticked off Messenger last episode. He was the only one who kept his mouth shut. But I guess all of the plans were left to him and he is taking responsibility as it is the Japanese way. He seems to think this war could be stalled and no lives could be lost. It might be hoping too much for snow though. Just a bit....too much.

The horror was so bad you have to look at....bad looking Demon King.
Elsewhere in the world Demon King is still undergoing her Kingification. Which apparently is her gaining all the memories of past kings and what not. Thus the other Heroes from last episode. That is nice and stuff but I am scarred for life seeing a younger Head Maid. Like really what the hell was that shit? Scarred for life. But I guess it is nice to see that Head Maid was always looking out for Demon King. Even if Demon King went into this for special reasons. She was going to be different ya'll!

Churches need to focus on helping and not hurting dear Lord!
Episode Summary: Young Merchant has decided that they must do something about the church trying to gain more power. He and his friend surmise that the church is attempting a third crusade and are trying to put the Crimson Scholar in a bad light as she and the Winter King standing strong has taken power away from them. Young Merchant summons the noble youth from Crimson Scholar's “hometown” to help gather info on the council of 10. He hopes to learn more about their merchant alliance and perhaps create a more powerful one. At the center of town the mood is less that festive. Many people have gathered around and are upset that Crimson Scholar is being portrayed in church a way. The Messengers from the main church and his people arrive to not a happy crowd. The Winter King and Archer also arrive and look very stoic. Nearby Hero waits with his people and watch over sleeping Child Maid. Youth Maid seems upset that she can't do more but Hero tells her to not worry, that he will protect her. Everyone realizes how awful all these charges are and Youth Maid goes on and on about how life has really changed for the better because of Demon King. They will do what they can to protect what Demon King has created but it isn't looking good. Everyone leaves to take their places while Youth Maid cries because she feels like she can't do anything. Messenger takes the stage and asks Winter King if he has brought forth Crimson Scholar. Winter King is looking pissed but complies as he doesn't want to go against the church and the main kingdom.

Well that turned around fast. XD
Youth Maid in Crimson Lord garb appears and she is taken into custody, with most of the crowd looking upset. Hero is on the roof top ready for rescue but Messenger decides to beat Crimson Scholar first. This really upsets the crowd and Youth Maid decides to speak to all. She tells them all she is a human and from humble beginnings. But despite all the bad things that happened around her SHE came out okay and felt unworthy of that gift. She goes on to say that their deity has given them gifts to become better people, to learn and grow. Messenger gets very upset that Youth Maid is using their deity in her faith and demands the crowd stones her or they will be enemies of the church too. Youth Maid says she will be okay with them stoning her to protect themselves and their families, but not because someone tells them too. That would make them insects and not using the deity's gifts. The crowd then starts to stone the Messenger. He gets pissed and orders his men to cut off Youth Maid's head. Just before he lands the killing blow Winter King protects her with his sword. He declares protect for Crimson Scholar and that he has been no better than an insect for listening to a kingdom who does not care for HIS brave people. Knight then steps up and declares Crimson Scholar a saint. Messenger vows to return and implies it will not be good. Later Youth Maid apologizes for going against Hero but no one really seems to mind despite the fact this probably does mean war. Elsewhere it appears that Demon King is in the middle of her.....contract of kingness. She has visions of past Heroes and how she is responsible for making the world in chaos. All she can hope for is forgiveness. THE END!

Um hello new little merchant. Come and not be important?
Well that didn't really go the way I thought it would. Which I guess is a positive thing. You don't want things to be predictable and boring. Nice to spice things up and what not. Plus this episode did give me a sliver of faith in humanity despite the fact that this is an anime and a history that was pretty horrible.

I am sure those merchants will think of something...
The opening scene had to do with the merchants and then they were not seen the rest of the episode. This could mean that next episode things will be focused on them. Not everything can happened instantly after all. But it seems that the change in Young Merchant is real. Sure his plan might favor himself but if it helps out other people too you really can't blame him yes? After all it is hard to save the world if you are dead and spending money in the grave makes no sense. He has put himself out there by involving Crimson Lord's student. That might help him in the long run but for now it is a gamble. That might pay off for him as new head of the council? But then the world might be a slightly better place because of it so it would be worth it.
 photo maoyuuepisode9_zpse133b486.jpg
People helping people. FINALLY!
The rest of the episode was devoted to the arrest of Crimson Scholar and the outcome of the event. I was actually quite pleased to see most of the people upset at her arrest. It is so easy to allow a giant tree come and kill off 2 billion of the population and go bowling the next day. Apparently. So the fact that these people were trying to support Crimson Scholar in the only way they really could spoke volumes. It is not like they could do much but they did what they could. Showed their appreciated and showed up, despite maybe becoming a target later in life.

Not looking too happy here.
While it would be really easy to hate on the Winter King one really has to look at it from his perspective. Yes the Crimson Lord really, really helped him out. Put him in power in a way. His kingdom was on the way out until that new trade path opened up. His people have food, they have new technology, and it has been demon free for a while. So is he turning on her? He has to think about the people as a whole. He has lots of people to protect and keep alive and when it becomes a numbers game he made the right choice. Now in the long run that might have proven to be a bad choice, the people could have revolted and they still could have gotten punished by the Central Kingdom. But I think the Winter King was backed into a corner and he made the best decision for his people but did so in a way that said hey I am just as pissed too.
 photo maoyuuepisode93_zpsd71fb14d.jpg
How is this your fault?
I think Youth Maid was a bit hard on herself. She was not given the chance in life to succeed until she came in contact with Demon King and company. She cared enough to save her last sibling and at least try for a better life, even if she would have eventually failed. I understand that people all around her are doing amazing things but they are older than her and know more of the plan than her. So I don't like how she compares herself to them. Given where she came from she has grown a lot. Enough where Demon King would allow her to take her place sometimes.
 photo maoyuuepisode95_zpsc22592c6.jpg
They are POTATOES!
Messenger was a real asshole. But I guess that was the point. I thought there was some driving force behind the church turning on Crimson Scholar but I guess it was just them and the Central Kingdom being pissed. Like oh snap the masses have food and might get educated and will learn that we are assholes. Quick make something evil and blame it on someone. That will get the power back in our hands. I just wish...religion was a more positive experience. All religions have such great teachings, helping one another and what not but then it can be used to justify slavery. Le sadness.
 photo maoyuuepisode914_zpsd9c226ca.jpg
Of course the sap question was higher for us viewers seeing scene like this.
I thought the entire affair of “arresting” Crimson Scholar via Youth Maid was over the top. Which is the point. To embarrass both the Winter King and Crimson Scholar. Like look the church and Central Kingdom are in charge and if you don't stay in line this could be you one day. Stop having ideas and feelings. Do what you are told and nothing more. Over the top. Scaring with a purpose.
 photo maoyuuepisode96_zps82fb8eb2.jpg
Um time for saving?!
I thought when Youth Maid started getting beat that is when she was going to get rescued. I don't think Hero was counting on the beatings happening so fast. He was probably waiting for them to get on the road before he rescued her. I mean I would have been really upset if I was told this was going to be okay and just go along with everything and I got my ass beat. Like thanks for having my back!
 photo maoyuuepisode97_zpsb83f7237.jpg
Okay that part was a bit surprising.
However Youth Maid is clearly a better person that I and was like no I am really going to do something to help. I told you she was feeling guilty. She really thinks she needs to do more than she did and oh boy did she. I acknowledge that this was a big risk and could have ended really badly for all involved but you know...you can't see the future and if your life is in danger you are probably free to say what you want to say. Especially if you are passionate about helping other people.
 photo maoyuuepisode98_zps21c2b515.jpg
See? Gotta connect with people!
Which was really all the Youth Maid talked about. I think she was willing to place the blame on herself and die but wanted to die as a spark for all. I think Youth Maid was talking without thinking and was just speaking from her heart. Which works out because she is a kind person. Without meaning to she connected to the people with her sad upbringing. Maybe without meaning to Youth Maid brings up religion and connects it to people in a positive way and not a scary, I rule your life way. She makes people think about themselves and wanting better, disregarding her own life.
 photo maoyuuepisode99_zps1cb51499.jpg
Time for cheering!
While Youth Maid does not have an army or magical powers or years of experience....she does have her experience and her words. She was able to understand the people better than anyone else. So the crowd turned on the Messenger and threw rocks at him. A real turning point in the episode and not where I was expecting it to go. Like okay guess the Hero was not needed after all.
 photo maoyuuepisode913_zpsff4273b3.jpg
You were saying?
Thanks to the people Winter King was able to back up Crimson Scholar. Before had he protected her and many would have died. But now the people support her and he must support his people. He apologizes for being an insect and not standing up for his beautiful and strong people. That way all is forgiven and everyone feels as if they have a piece of protecting Crimson Scholar. Knight was just the icing on the cake by making her a saint. Like really, now how can you kill her? Her and her tasty potatoes. This might lead to war but the people are now united.
 photo maoyuuepisode912_zpsf635d475.jpg
So many Heroes?!
The episode ends with Demon King in the middle of her...kingification? I don't know it looked really complicated. I have no idea how long Demon King has lived for but clearly there have been many Heroes. X____X So what makes this Hero different? And if she has had a chance to save the world so many times why is she so confident this time? I would have become frustrated with so many failures. Still she seems to think that she is to blame for this all. She needs to get it together though as things are happening because of her and for her. Time to be the real King!
