Isshuukan Friends episode 12 FINAL EPISODE!

 photo friendsepisode1212_zpsbb7eff0a.jpg
I pray all of our emotions don't explode our tiny little bodies.
WOOHOO! I am finally able to get things posted. It's been a while hasn't it? All the time in the world and nothing gets done. X___X Things are finishing up in terms of Spring Anime so if I don't want to be left in the dust I better be finishing up too. So...yeah. Here are some anime posts for you. Up now is Isshuukan Friends episode 12. The final episode of tears, misunderstandings, and everyone being friends.

I don't think Shougo has much of a choice about that...
Episode Summary: Kaori asks to talk to Shougo alone after school. She wants to know why Yuuki has been avoiding her lately. Shougo thinks this is a subject that she needs to talk to with Yuuki but she knows the boy won't give her a straight answer. Shougo explains Yuuki's concerns about becoming the new Kujou and being the cause of her losing more memories. Kaori is upset because she is Yuuki's friend and she didn't know how he felt. She cries a bit and walks away as Shougo wonders what is going to happen to these two. The next day in class Kaori and Yuuki talk to each other but things are still a bit off. It is cleaning day at the school and Saki's friends accidentally pick the straw that makes their group clean up the roof. They all freeze a bit while Kujou wonders why he is included in their group now. Shougo tries to talk to Saki but she runs away with her bag of trash. He goes after her and tries talking about how fake Kaori and Yuuki are being. He then asks why Saki is avoiding him and if he should stop talking to her. Saki then has a cry, saying she doesn't want that. She thinks she made him mad with the husband talk so she stopped talking to him to avoid saying anything else that would make him mad and leave HER. Shougo apologizes which shocks Saki. She asks if she can keep relying on him to which Shougo acts like he like he doesn't care one way or another. Smile smile. Everyone minus Kujou walks home together, Yuuki noting that Saki is happier. Shougo wants to know when Yuuki and Kaori are going to talk and go back to how things were. Yuuki says it is good that Kaori is with her other friends and maybe she will make more in the future. He insists that he is not sad. It is finally time for winter break and the crew gathers around Kaori's desk to discuss their plans. Kaori says she can't plan anything because her family is going on a trip. Kujou looks at Kaori like she is lying and Yuuki says his family is also going on a trip to which Shougo gives a little side eye too. What to do without Yuuki and Kaori on break? Kaori arrives home and her mother is starting to make New Year's Eve/Day dinner since they are obviously not going out of town. Kaori thinks this situation is fine for now.
 photo friendsepisode1215_zps5d0e0713.jpg
But...I thought I was the chosen one?!
New Year's Eve rolls around and liar face Yuuki is hungry and his mom won't make him anything. He ventures out into the cold and finds himself on a bridge, probably thinking about their plans to find that seal back in the day. He thinks it is stupid to think Kaori would be there and turns to go home. Kaori calls out to him and they both have to make liar face excuses to why they are not on a trip. Kaori went on this walk with the purpose of finding Yuuki. Yuuki probably was going to go home right away but is taken back with Kaori's happiness and wants to go on a walk. Kaori ends up talking about the first day Yuuki talked to her and how nervous Yuuki must have been. Yuuki tries to downplay what he did for her. He then tries to steer her away from the crepe store of memories but Kaori insists on eating there. They sit down with their noms while Kaori goes on and on about she is happy they finally got to do this as she talks about it a lot in her diary. Yuuki gets all feelings and runs to get another crepe. They continue to walk along and Kaori thanks him for these fun moments. They stop by a shrine that Yuuki didn't know about on the way to Kaori's home. They decide to make their first visit of the year early and go in to make wishes. Kaori starts to cry, wishing that she could remember all of this day, the small moments and all. But what makes her most sad is that distance between her and Yuuki right now. She wants to go back to being close friends again and doesn't know how to make that happen or what went wrong. She sobs on the ground and Yuuki lets out some...war cry. He says that this is all his fault, that he forgot the most important thing. That he wants them to be closer friends and talk more. It is a magical moment that is interrupted by Kaori's mother running by and saying that Dad has called the cops because he is worried about Kaori's cellphoneless self. Yuuki takes off before he is killed by Dad happily. When winter break is worried everyone gathers in the classroom before the final bell rings, talking and waiting for Kaori and Yuuki. Yuuki arrives to the classroom and both he and Kaori smile and bow, doing their little thing of asking to be friends. Later that night Yuuki is seen writing in his own diary, wondering what Kaori writes about. THE END.

Shows over, peace out now.
Mog so many words!!! Why oh why am I so wordy?! Even when I was watching this episode I was like so when I blog the summary it is going to be three sentences long right? Because it felt like there was 3 sentences worth of material. I can make anything unnecessary and or seem interesting at the same time.
 photo friendsepisode12_zps80b39502.jpg
Normally I would drag this out and ask later....but this is the last episode so I have to ask now.
When I first started watching this series I knew it was going to....well be a very slow paced and full of feeling show. It wasn't about the action or the gorgeous art or something life altering experience. It was going to be a slice of life and sometimes with those shows it is about the little things and how they stir so many emotions inside of you. That since there isn't anything else going on these feelings are...well over the top and exaggerated. Sometimes not so much and you can relate to how that person really is acting/feeling. Sometimes I feel as if since I am not Japanese part of the show is being lost on me. Like it's not something you can understand unless you are part of that culture. I can read about it and try to understand it but I will still be sitting here going TALK ABOUT IT! Stop having misunderstandings!!! So...to me this show ended on a very......unsatisfying note.
 photo friendsepisode122_zps0ae6420a.jpg
But....Yuuki is way less popular than Kujou! He will be fine.
Kaori was a bit proactive though asking Shougo what was going on in terms of Yuuki avoiding her. Well maybe not too fast as I am not the best at paying attention to the dates when animes give them to me. XD Maybe she waited a few weeks and allowed things to get uncomfortable before going to Shougo. But given how Kaori was before this should look like progress right? Given the nature of this show the idea of Kaori talking to Yuuki about their problems is too much. Like um no this show is about feelings and feeling bad when you accidentally didn't do anything wrong but it might make the other person upset so I need to apologize anyway. So Kaori went for the next best thing, the best friend who really doesn't like drama and sticking his nose in other people's business. Shougo tries to skate around the issue at first, like a good bro since he knows what Yuuki is doing. But Kaori is a girl and we have our ways of getting the truth out of boys (you know, breathing and such) so Shougo had to confess that Yuuki was scared he was going to cause pain to Kaori like Kujou did. Kaori took this in a way that she was dismissive of how sad this would make Yuuki instead of being touched that Yuuki wanted to protect her or angry that Yuuki was deciding what was best for her. Because Kaori is pure and amazing.
 photo friendsepisode124_zps69ec90ac.jpg
I apologize we will all freeze to death.
Due to Japanese schools instilling values and work ethics in their students...or being funded by a combination of parents and taxes thus there are no funds it was clean up before winter break time. WOOHOO!! I do question why in the winter months girls in Japan aren't allowed to wear pants. Given that I wrap a blanket around myself when it is 72 degrees in my house I can't imagine wearing a skirt in winter months in a place that actually has a traditional winter. So the scene on the roof made me very chilly. :( Of course they were chosen to clean the roof since most of the Kaori and Yuuki bonding happened there and if the series ended during Winter break there wouldn't be a way to get to the roof. So it was a basically a gentle goodbye to the lunch time conversations.
 photo friendsepisode125_zps0082e1b7.jpg
Um...that was you crazy face?
For some reason all the mains were chosen on this committee. Including Kujou. He is part of the group now. I think Yuuki has forgiven him for the earlier issues because he understands the boy better now. But this roof moment is not about Kujou and Yuuki coming together. It is about Saki and Shougo overcoming..whatever it is wrong with them. Hurry Kaori, create that moment!!! Or or...Saki would ignore Shougo one too many times and Shougo will handle things on his own. Thanks for worrying girls, he gots this. Saki's mistake was trying to escape while carrying something as big as her. Just not possible folks. Not wanting to waste time Shougo asks what is wrong with this crazy girl. Saki was just worried about messing things up again with Shougo she decided to stop communicating with him at all. Because that makes sense in girl land. Don't question it. Shougo decided not to because he is a smart man. Instead he took the blame on himself for Saki talking about husbands and depending on him the rest of her life. How dare he make things weird. So as it stands I think Shougo and Saki are going out but won't mention it again. They won't kiss or spend time alone together but Shougo will help Saki and Saki will tolerate Shougo's eyerolling. SO ROMANTIC!!!
 photo friendsepisode127_zps9f3d3d6e.jpg
Um no. Yuuki only cares about Kaori. Didn't you get the memo?
Being in a good mood because of the fixed Sakiness Shougo decided to put his nose slightly in Yuuki's business. Look at all those girls being happy and friend like. Don't you want to be happy and your normal...gooey self Yuuki? Get back to your usual groove with Kaori? Maybe Shougo is doing this because the longer Yuuki draws this out the more he will have to get involved later? Oh I see what you are doing there Shougo. Good work. Or maybe this sudden not really relationship status change with Saki has soften Shougo a bit to Yuuki's plight. He might be over dramatic but I do see his point. Slightly since the girls aren't lined up the block for the boy and hopefully women grow up as...they grow up and Kaori won't have her feelings hurt like that again. Or the Real Housewives exist so...you know. Yuuki is going to say he isn't sad and neither is Kaori and all is well.
 photo friendsepisode128_zps39b29703.jpg
Shougo smells a lie but won't say anything.
Soon it was time for winter break. Yuuki was worried about asking Kaori to spend time together during that holiday. Now Yuuki was worried that he was going to have to spend time with Kaori when he was trying to keep things at a friend level, not a special friend level. Vacations are tough for this kid. But thanks to Shougo's mouth flapping and Kaori being Japanese and wanting to shield Yuuki from anything not so nice she lied first about having plans for the winter. We got a trip planned for the family guys! Since Kaori lied first Yuuki didn't have to lie but maybe Yuuki wanted to take a break from anyone and everything that reminded him of Kaori so he said he had things to do too. Kujou and Shougo were not impressed with the lies but everyone else was bummed because Kaori and Yuuki are the glue for the group and if they aren't somewhere why bother?
 photo friendsepisode123_zpsbf6bdf6c.jpg
Ain't no one cares what Kujou did for vacation.
I am assuming that Yuuki spent most of the time on the couch for his vacation. I approve of this but wish he could have spent a little time with Shougo. I guess since he lied he can't be embarrassed and such with Shougo knowing the truth. I just wish the boys were shown being more friendly with each other. In any event Shougo did his mature adult self sufficient thing by cleaning the roof. Now he needs his mom to make him lunch. His mom cracked me up with her texting from the other room. Get it yourself basically. This means that Yuuki has to go outside and fend for himself on this cold day. All alone in the world since he lied is sorta lonely when you think about it. Breaks should be fun, not boring. His little walk to the bridge looking for the seal like he talked about with Kaori made me sadface. Missed opportunities.
 photo friendsepisode129_zps9cc52992.jpg
But we lied to each other!!!
Or or...Kaori is right there people. Walking along the same bridge and thinking of Yuuki and poof she sees him. Maybe Kaori missing out on prime time social years made her unable to think about the consequences because she called out to him without realizing...hey I shouldn't be here....XD Even if Kaori doesn't know it she likes Yuuki and that feeling took over any leftover sad feelings or the gut feeling of I am supposed to be on a trip. Both Yuuki and Kaori lied to each other on why they were still in town which is what I gather proper etiquette in Japan. Can't make the other feel uncomfortable. Given how things were between the two of them before school went on break Kaori was probably ready to just go home but Yuuki, despite himself, wants to spend time with the girl. A walk home indeed.
 photo friendsepisode1210_zps710d7c17.jpg
Kaori's mind would probably explode at Disney then...
Kaori had been feeling kinda crappy about the place she and Yuuki had been in prior to today. And even though things hadn't been hashed out yet...Kaori exploded in girlness. Time to talk woohoo! First it was about how Yuuki became her first friend and what not. Now that Kaori has done better and even recovered quickly from a relapse I am sure Yuuki was feeling a bit forgotten, even if that is what he wanted to happen anyway. Kaori probably didn't do this on purpose but her talking about how she felt at the time and that she appreciates Yuuki probably made his day. And since the duo had to walk by the crepe shop on the way home...it had to become important. Yuuki saw that place as something bad, where Kaori had her feelings hurt again. But to Kaori she saw it as a place where many things happened but none involving Yuuki like they promise. So it was finally, FINALLY time for crepes. It was a long time coming. Add in all this togetherness and...walking I guess and Kaori declares this the best day ever. She really is easily pleased ya'll. Yuuki is overcome with emotion so he has to eat another crepe to cover up his feelings.
 photo friendsepisode1213_zpseea1eb5f.jpg
Yuuki be my special friend!
Before they reach Kaori's house they pass a temple Yuuki didn't know was there. Since it is rather early in the day and probably not a popular temple it was empty. I am not sure why Kaori and Yuuki didn't make plans to come back later that night but things weren't patched up yet. Maybe they were both afraid of rejection. Whatever the case may be they decided to go pray at the temple right now for New Year's Eve. 5 seconds later Kaori breaks down in tears. She prayed for her usual I don't want to forget this magical (ordinary) day. But Kaori has decided she wants more. She wants to go back to how they used to be, talking all the time and having the closeness as a couple without using that word because Kaori doesn't understand that yet. Kaori knows that Yuuki is afraid of her hurting her and wants to protect his feelings....but she can't control her feelings. She wants Yuuki around as her special friend even though she can't control her memory problems. :( Poor sad Kaori.
 photo friendsepisode1214_zpsc843be1d.jpg
EVERYTHING IS SOLVED!
Yuuki then breaks into tears. Well he screams in frustration then turns to cry because he is a boy. That is what boys do you know, gotta cry off screen because heaven forbid we see the emotion. Then.....things got better? Instantly better. Yuuki claims he wasn't really thinking of Kaori when he did his attempt to protect her. And that was it folks. Everything was just better, we are special friends again who will talk all the time. Nothing was really resolved. Yuuki was scared of becoming the next Kujou and Kaori was sad that Yuuki felt so bad. These issues were not resolved and Kaori could still lose her memories. But I guess seeing Kaori cry showed Yuuki that she was sad without him made him feel any worse. That Kaori should be in control of her own destiny. If she wants to be close friends with Yuuki while knowing the risks well that is for her to decide. Not for Yuuki to control. I am not sure if I am explaining this well, on why I feel as if the ending was a bit empty. It was...just sudden. A show all about emotions and over thinking things but this issue...just resolved in an instant. I don't know folks...I just wanted more to happen. For them to really talk about things and Kaori to reassure Yuuki he won't become Kujou.
 photo friendsepisode1217_zps61d86b5b.jpg
It's not perfect but it's us. Lets be friends again.
And...that's it folks. Kaori's mom shows up to tell Yuuki her husband is the exact opposite of her and will kill Yuuki for taking out her daughter. They promise to see each other next year which I take means back at school. So after winter break everyone in the classroom (who is in the know) waits on pins and needles to see how Yuuki and Kaori will react to each other. Well they witness the two smile at each other, bow, and ask to be the other's friend. To mirror how Yuuki approached Kaori in the first episode. Everything has come full circle. I don't know if there will be a season two of Kaori actually having her issue solved. I am guessing not. Sometimes things can't be cured. Kaori might have to keep on trying and will never reach “all better” in her life but “good enough”. It was a cute little series with tiny slice of life moments here and there. I am not saying the ending was empty because Kaori wasn't cured. I just thought...the source of her problem was played up to be a big deal and Yuuki's reaction to this news made sense to me. I just thought...there would be more conflict and what not involving how to proceed. They basically just cried and declared they wanted to be together without solving what had driven them apart. But overall I thought the series was pretty cute. Shougo I think was the most interesting character as he made me feel all sorts of things while Yuuki and Kaori were...perfect in nearly every way. An okay way to spend 12 weeks of my life I suppose. XD

Isshuukan Friends episode 11

I feel slightly more human today then I did yesterday. Yesterday I was in zombie mode. I went to bed at 2:30 am and woke up at 5:59 am because for some reason our neighbor's cop car alarm went off. Like scared the crap out of about the 100 people within earshot, waking us all from our slumber. Well except my husband. Apparently me opening the door in a confused dazed was more noisy than the BEEP BEEEEEP BEEEEP BEEEEEEEEEEEEP that went on for about 30 minutes while we all stood around in our pajamas looking like zombies. And since I am the worst sleeper on the face of the planet...I didn't go back to bed.
 photo friendepisode118_zpsca6efcc1.jpg
This is how boys make friendships.
So yes. I am more human today than yesterday. What an understatement. And since there is only ONE soccer/fotball match today...WOOHOO! I can do lots of anime posts today yes? Hopefully. We shall see. You know how I can get. Oh wait the matches are on different channel than I am used to. Nothing will get done haha. XD Up now is Isshuukan Friends episode 11. Spoilers for...THE TRUTH. All of it. Just so dramatic and awful you know.

Episode Summary: Yuuki is thinking to himself that it is finally winter time, his first winter with Kaori. She has slowly started to build up her memories once again but things are still not the same, back before Kujou came to town. Still she talks happily about how Fridays don't scare her anymore and she has her diary to thanks for that. She happily flips through it until she stops on a particular page. She says nothing is wrong and that she is happy she has friends, happy thanks to Yuuki. Yuuki takes a drink break to talk to Shougo. Apparently Shougo told him once to allow things to happen naturally. Yuuki wants to tell Shougo he isn't going to follow that advice. Instead he is going to try his hardest to get back to where they were before. Shougo seems to support this as...Yuuki is Yuuki. As they finish their break they see Saki round the corner, see Shougo, and run back the other way. HMMM there. Saki runs and hides in the classroom and her two friends ask what is wrong. Saki says she made Shougo mad and the two girls Ai and Maiko decide that Saki needs to apologize even if Shougo scary face and smiling face are all scary. Shougo listens to this rude conversation and decides all girls are crazy. After school Yuuki wants to walk home with Kaori (and Shougo) when Ai and Maiko declare it a girl's only zone and kidnap Kaori. Yuuki was set to walk home with Shougo when Ai runs up and asks why Kaori is so against going to their area's only crepe shop. Did something happen there? Yuuki remembers Kaori freaking out the other day and tells Shougo to walk home without him. Yuuki returns to the classroom where Kujou is doing the class report. Yuuki wants to know what happened at the crepe shop and Kujou acts like this is the 19th time the kid has asked him. Yuuki simply says well if you remember let me know which makes Kujou call the two girls that were at the crepe shop. They all agree to meet at a restaurant and the two boys wait. Kujou tries to act all tough, saying he doesn't care about Kaori but Yuuki points out that the kid says that a lot. Yuuki thinks Kujou likes Kaori and doesn't see him as just a creep anymore. Yuuki keeps on talking, saying he wants to know about Kujou and Kaori when they were younger. Kujou wasn't done being...himself and tries to play up that he and Kaori were....special together. They were popular and while they were not dating Kujou thought they were more than friends. Yuuki understands that thinking. Even though they had tons of friends they always spent time together doing math and such. Yuuki realizes that Kujou is the one who made Kaori love math.
 photo friendepisode115_zps54ff4e75.jpg
But but...I am the special friend!
The two girls finally show up and...the scene changes to Kaori hanging out with Saki and company. They have gone to a karaoke place to discuss Saki's issue. Or not really because Saki never explains why she and Shougo are having issues. But Ai and Maiko want to help Saki so...Kaori needs to find an opportunity for Saki and Shougo to talk. Kaori really has no idea what to do but friendship matters so she will help. Their paid time is up so the girls all decide to continue the conversation at a restaurant. Lala walking for them and they end up at the same place where Kujou, Yuuki, and the two girls are. Saki and the other girls go to sit down where Kaori goes to use the payphone because what is a cellphone? When she goes to make the call she sees Yuuki and people sitting there so she walks over happily. During all of this the girls were telling Yuuki and Kujou what happened the day Kaori got hit by a car. Turns out Kujou was super popular in class and one of Kaori's friends liked him. They found out that Kujou was going tell Kaori his...feelings on that particular Sunday so the girls all decided to confront Kaori beforehand. They all called Kaori names and what not for being mean to this friend and her secret feelings to Kujou. Kaori ran off upset and got hit by a car. Those girls went to visit Kaori in the hospital but she pretended to not know them thus the gossip and why THESE girls know. Kaori is then noticed by the group as she quietly cries. She says she is not sad...just now she knows the truth. She continues to cry and Ai/Maiko agree to help Saki take Kaori home. Kaori arrives home and doesn't feel like talking to her mother about her crappy day. She instead starts to cry as she writes in her diary. Yuuki stays back with Kujou to hear his side of this story. Kujou seems to think it's his fault this all happened, because he wanted to remain her special friend. Monday rolls around and Yuuki goes to see Kaori on the roof. She is relieved as a lot happened on Friday. She claims to be okay now. She was just shocked at the truth but thanks to Saki and Yuuki her special friend being there she will be okay. Yuuki sorta panics at the words special friend and makes some excuse to leave the roof. That night Yuuki meets with Shougo as he has explained the situation to his friend. Shougo thinks knowing the truth is good, a positive thing. Maybe Kaori will forget things less. Yuuki seems to think he is in Kujou's position now and what if he causes Kaori to lose her memories one day? Shougo gets a little quiet. The next day Kaori is full of energy and excitement for the upcoming winter break. Yuuki blows her question off again which makes Kaori a sad panda. THE END!
 photo friendepisode113_zps240b37c3.jpg
You can do it Yuuki!
Well there is only ONE episode left of this series and we finally have the whole story on Kaori's condition. Is that going to be enough time to “cure” Kaori, get Yuuki to stop avoiding her, and have Kujou get some sort of resolution to his situation too? I guess this series could have another season but I feel as if it is the kind of series that gets 12 episodes of cute and moves on.
 photo friendepisode11_zps5548cd5f.jpg
All my meltdowns and dramas seem to happen on Fridays so Mondays are a relief. XD
Despite Kujou coming back into her life and the two girls near the crepe store triggering her Kaori seems to be back on track with Yuuki. Yuuki even comments that she has been building up her memories again. I take that to mean she has started to recognize people quickly on Monday and to even know Yuuki before he introduces himself. For some reason I thought a great deal of time had passed since Kujou came to town but apparently it's only been two weeks. Maybe I am confused. Summer vacation ended and I thought Kujou appeared that same day. I guess a few months just passed of him being a quiet jerk next to Kaori and the crepe situation happened last week. That is very little progress between Kujou and Kaori. Awkward. Also no school festival, my heart is sad.
 photo friendepisode112_zps9df96a4b.jpg
But if you don't mind could you please tell me about Kojou? Thanks.
Kaori seems to be okay with how things are. Probably because she has no idea how much she lost and the point she is at now is where she was at the end of summer. Only Yuuki, Shougo, and maybe part of Saki know that she took steps back. Yuuki really has gone through a lot though. A yoyo friendship. Still he goes at Kaori's pace and listens to her talk about her diary and how she is getting better. Fridays are no longer a burden to her and I think Yuuki is getting less stressed about Mondays. Although the Kujou incident will always be in the back of his mind, that something could always go wrong. While Kaori is skipping along Yuuki still has doubts. Enter the Shougo. Does Shougo ever have issues? It is always Yuuki going to him for help. Friendships are equal dude!!! Well Shougo still made me mad with his flippant attitude that Kaori forgets all the time but maybe he was just trying to make Yuuki feel better. Anyway Shougo is there to listen as Yuuki talks again about his doubts and what not. Shougo thinks Yuuki needs to chill and not worry himself to death but that is going to fall on deaf ears anyway so just nod your head and promise to pick up the pieces after the fact.
 photo friendepisode114_zps37d2ed42.jpg
We are going to help even though we have no idea what is wrong! Yay girls!
Oh wait! Maybe Shougo will have an issue now. In the form of Saki and her annoying hair tie. Yeah this episode I finally had a rage moment against her useless and gravity defying hairtie. But yes Saki might be an issue for Shougo...since he likes her and all. Since Saki asked Shougo to be her husband last episode she apparently has been avoiding the kid. Her friends Ai and Maiko want to get to the bottom of this....you know, in the middle of the classroom where everyone can hear. Saki really wasn't telling her friends why she and Shougo can't talk so the girls are assuming it is Shougo's fault. Time to list all of his crazy faults and what not, with him listening in at the doorway. Saki seems like the kind of girl who would tell her friends everything so I am not sure why she didn't spill the beans. I don't see Shougo going to Yuuki for help though. This is a crush that probably has been building for years and he can handle it. I say crush but Saki acts more like a pet dog than potential girlfriend material.
 photo friendepisode116_zps7d2094dd.jpg
Yeah because it happened so long ago....
Ai and Maiko have to protect their little Saki and to do that they need...Kaori. Yeah it makes little sense but I guess they are all friends so they should spend time together. It sorta blocks Yuuki from walking Kaori home but to be fair he does spend a lot of time with the girl. He wants her to branch out and have the ability to keep her memories but I am sure it would help if she spent time with other people besides him. I am sure he knows that too but it is hard to do in practice. Poor Yuuki. What will he do to occupy himself? Actually spend time with his friend Shougo without it being a pretense of a favor? HAHA not. Kujou was sticking around after class doing work (because schools in Japan are run by students) so Yuuki decided it was high time to ask him what was up.
 photo friendepisode117_zps094e9132.jpg
Sure you don't.
Given what a brat Kujou has been about things (whether it is warranted or not) I thought it was brave and slightly foolish for Yuuki to ask that kid anything. But Yuuki really does want to help Kaori and if she is having meltdowns around Kujou well he better find out what is the issue. I don't really see it as him being nosy. Kujou starts off with his how should I know attitude but soon calls the other two girls since they were the ones who really caused the meltdown. Either way Yuuki was being super polite and cute about the whole thing. Like oh okay you don't know, well if you do learn something please tell me peace to you all. Just too polite to be a real kid you know? I would be grabbing collars and demanding answers since Kaori keeps having meltdowns about Kujou. Also my brain might be exploding at the idea of Kaori asking me (Yuuki) about Kujou. Like I don't know and maybe you shouldn't know either. Always bringing up the tough subjects!

Yuuki is quite a special snowflake though. While waiting for the two girls to show up he and Kujou had some time to talk. And they actually did talk. Crazy right? Yuuki almost seemed....giddy to talk to Kujou about his past with Kaori. Like they were girlfriends talking about a cute boy. Instead Yuuki actually LIKES the girl that Kujou had this magical relationship with so wouldn't the answers hurt him? Yuuki is a strange little man. Maybe he was doing this to help Kaori but all I kept thinking to myself was how this was going to end in tears.
 photo friendepisode119_zps41bcb3be.jpg
I am a confused, sad kid. :(
Kujou doesn't know if he wants to be a jerk or not. It's like he is constantly having a battle with himself. Do I hate Yuuki? Do I hate Kaori? Should I talk about how much I hate her or should I go on and on about her to make Yuuki jealous and to make myself almost cry? I am sure aside from the Kaori situation Kujou is a nice kid. He was just really hurt and that hurt came out in hurtful anger. I don't think he believed this memory thing yet as it does sound odd. But I would probably want to believe that over my special friend just not caring about me anymore. I rather cling to something you know? But for the meantime Kujou says he hates Kaori and must hate Yuuki for replacing him as the special friend so he must juggle that fine line. Bragging about how he spent so much time with Kaori even though they had a boatload of friends in the wing. But this all catches up to Kujou as he remembers those feelings, that they weren't going out but were special friends. He didn't even take the time to gloat that Yuuki is in the same boat and is potentially going to get hurt himself. Yuuki did all the worrying on his own though while Kujou wallowed in self pity.
 photo friendsepisode112_zps7ffd07f1.jpg
Did Kaori forget that she was a mind reader?
These two girls finally show up and they have to be a little dramatic about Kaori's past. We got to stretch this out to the proper number of episodes you know. So what is the entire story behind Kaori being hit by a car? Surprisingly these girls were not involved. Kaori was super popular and had tons of friends but clearly liked hanging out with Kujou the best. Kujou was moving away and probably wanted to ask Kaori out, cement his special friend status. The other girls in the class got wind of this and being the 6th graders they were got upset. Because Kaori needs to read minds and know that one (maybe more) of her friends likes Kujou. So when Kaori went to the park to meet up with Kujou she instead found her friends all yelling at her while the Kujou liker cowarded in the background, like some grave injustice had been done to her. 6th grade girls are full of dramas. Kaori was upset over this yelling and probably shocked that Kujou liked her so she ran away, into a car. And this is the story of how Kaori lost her memories.
 photo friendsepisode11_zps84cd8d4b.jpg
Time is money is Japan. We can't just be hanging out with friends for free.
While this was going on Kaori went with Saki and friends to discuss the Shougo situation...at a karaoke place. It seems rather odd since they didn't do any singing and going to a restaurant in the first place would have made more sense. Not to continue to the plot in a dramatic fashion so onward to karaoke. Basically the girls want Kaori to create an opportunity for Saki to talk to Shougo. Again with the dramatics as Kaori and Saki are just as close to Shougo as the other but then again the girls don't know what the problem is. I don't think Kaori needs to help Saki as her embarrassment is what is making things weird. Still they are friends and Kaori wants to help. Since it cost money to spend time at karaoke the girls head on over to a restaurant. Which restaurant do they have to continue this not very complicated topic? Oh the one Yuuki and company is at. I SEE INDEED.
 photo friendsepisode113_zps848e7857.jpg
Err....now you know?
Just as Kujou's old friends are explaining the situation Kaori and company walk into the same restaurant. Since Yuuki and Kaori are connected at the hip she was making her way over to the table to talk to her friend when BAM the entire truth was unloaded on Kaori. She was given a sliver of truth the last time she saw the girls but it isn't clear if Kaori knows what they said last time. What she wrote in her diary I mean. So either this was a whole lot of information at once or just the last piece of the puzzle. Either way Kaori reacted...rather softly. I guess if she was Kujou's friend now it would be a bigger shock. That he had romantic feelings for her and she was a homewrecker. Not really but that is what these girls are saying. Kaori just existing caused problems so yeah....her crying and running away now and then makes sense. What else could the girl do? It still seems extreme, for her to forget all her friends for the rest of her life because of this issue. Delicate flower indeed but dang girls can be awful in school. Tears for Kaori.
 photo friendsepisode116_zps32e61b0c.jpg
:( That is kinda sad....
Despite being...Kujou you have to feel bad for the kid. He was moving away and all he wanted was to..be special, SPECIAL friends with Kaori. I guess ask her out in case he came back later. And because some jealous girls got in the way Kaori forgot about him and he blames himself for her troubles. :( I really don't see it that way. It's not his fault at all but in this anime where feeling a certain way could be troublesome for others clearly you are a bad person. Actually that might be a Japan thing that seems blown out of proportion to my American self. You must really consider all options and situations to not embarrass another and since something bad happened to Kaori it is all Kujou's fault. Yuuki...sat there and listened, part because he is a good kid and part because this is the story of his life.
 photo friendsepisode114_zpsf0e6cf6b.jpg
Like for real fine or girl fine?
When Monday rolled around Kaori was okay. How she manages to read that many diaries in the morning is beyond me. A fast reader I suppose. Unless she is lying about being okay Kaori wasn't in tears. I guess the one good thing about forgetting issues is that the bad memories fade away too. I wonder if Yuuki and Saki hadn't been there would Kaori have remembered the entire scene? Anyway Kaori is happy she knows the truth. Maybe she is okay now. All she needed was to have the whole picture in her head and she could move on. It's like being afraid of the unknown and when you find out the awful truth you can accept it and more on. Or curl up into a ball and cry about it. Kaori doesn't seem to be crying anymore but she could be lying to protect Yuuki. Either way the boy doesn't know what to think.
 photo friendsepisode115_zpsa6e30852.jpg
Yuuki is a whirlwind of feelings so which ones are you talking about?
Cue the Shougo because that is what he is good for. Since Shougo wasn't at the restaurant he had to be briefed on the situation. Shougo seems to think this is all positive stuff. Kaori knows the truth and might remember things better. Things could improve. But for Yuuki...all he could think was how he was the new Kujou. Accidentally of course on the side of Yuuki and Kaori. She wasn't looking to replace Kujou and he wasn't only helping her because he liked her. But the situation is the same, special friend word being used all over the place. So of course Yuuki is worried the same situation might happen. Well not the SAME as girls aren't throwing themselves all over Yuuki but still. I get his concerns. If Kaori is fragile enough for allow some 6th grade drama to take over her life who knows what else might affect her? If I were Yuuki I be weary of the situation too but not flat out ignore the girl. I guess Yuuki took a step in the middle Still being Kaori's friend but not making future plans or being overly special with her. Yuuki is just a kid, not a doctor. This of course leads to a confused/sad Kaori, a sad Yuuki, and a concerned Shougo. Maybe Kaori is strong enough to deal with things now. Yuuki doesn't want to hurt her so he doesn't want to take that risk but I am assuming something has to give. A New Year's Eve wish? HMMM guess we will have to find out next time.

Isshuukan Friends episode 10

Oh hi there readers. It's pretty late at night and I am now getting around to posting this episode of Isshuukan Friends. Not sure why there was a delay. I do know I got roped into watching some of the World Cup with the husband. he doesn't ask for much, I just didn't know he WATCHED the World Cup. It was a bit of a shock to me. Also shocking is how big of crybabies soccer players are. Like they literally brush up against each other and they fall on the ground faking injuries, like a little brother would do if his sister barely hit him. They should pay fines for being suck fakers. Really every 5 seconds the game had to stop for fouls or whatever. And this is going to go on for an entire month?! Olympics I miss you.
 photo friendsepisode102_zps523e196e.jpg
And back to square one!
Putting that aside...lets actually get this Isshuukan Friends episode 10 up!! I did watch Black Bullet today as well but I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow. Spoilers for Kujou or however you spell his name being a douche.
 photo friendsepisode10_zps6324cd93.jpg
Yay for Mondays again!
Episode Summary: Monday rolls around and Kaori is eating alone on the roof. Yuuki approaches her despite her angry eyes being on. He introduces himself as Yuuki and asks to be her friend. She immediately lets her guard down as she remembers reading about him in her diary. Yuuki notes ever since the new kid Kujou talked to Kaori her memories had been completely reset, them starting over from scratch each day. Still Yuuki tries to watch over Kaori, like when she and Kujou are supposed to share a book during class. Kaori doesn't remember Kujou treating her like crap last week and she certainly doesn't remember them reading poetry in elementary school so basically when Kujou tries to throw digs she remains expressionless which makes Kujou angry. Obviously. During a break Shougo tries to tell Yuuki that Kaori loses her memories all the time so why so upset? Yuuki tries to explain how it is different and tries to not feel sorry for himself. Kujou rolls up to get a drink and pisses Yuuki off even if the words pissed off aren't in the boy's vocabulary. Kujou jokes about ruining Yuuki and Kaori's relationship and threatens to take Kaori away. Just kidding...since he hates Kaori. He walks away and Yuuki wonders why Kujou is more important than him. During class Saki's friends try to talk to Kaori whom...is confused on who they are. Luckily they run away and gossip about how cute Yuuki and Kaori look together when Yuuki comes in. As Yuuki explains who the girls are Saki watches from the doorway, thinking something is up. At lunchy time Kaori happily gives Yuuki a homemade bento because her diary says the boy likes them. Yuuki seems happy to receive it until Kaori questions why the 18 grams of sugar in the omelets instead of 19. Yuuki asks to be excused and goes to the hallway to cry. He is overwhelmed with memories of the omelets and how the number 18 helped Kaori trigger her first memory of him and what not. That it has lead Kaori to celebrate days with 18 in them to signify the achievement. Sadness is Yuuki. After school Kaori bids Yuuki goodbye....in the classroom which should be an achievement. Yuuki is sad about all this and leaves temporarily to go talk to a teacher. Saki goes to talk to Shougo about how things are different things are between Yuuki and Kaori. Shougo doesn't think they should get involved but Saki feels indebted to them both for their help. Saki wants to be in a family with Kaori but since that is impossible because it is the year 1948....she will just have to marry Shougo. The normally calm Shougo is like what?! Saki knows that she will need someone to help her in life and Shougo will be perfect. Shougo pretends to blow Saki off but he is shown blushing later.
 photo friendsepisode108_zpse772bc86.jpg
I wonder if Kaori will get THESE memories back or not by the end of this show. :(
On Wednesday Kaori and Yuuki eat lunch together and the subject of Kujou comes up. Yuuki tells Kaori that she and Kujou went to school together when they were younger. Kaori wonders if they were friends and why she feels intrigued and scared around him. Kaori changes to the subject to getting crepes, the ones she read about in her dairy. They make plans after school (another big step) but first Yuuki has to do his cleaning duties. Kaori wakes alone near the crepe stand when Kujou rolls up with two girls. The two girls talk happily with Kaori as Kaori is like...I am waiting for someone. They walk up to get crepes while Kujou gets upset that Kaori was rude to those girls. Kaori starts to say she doesn't know them which makes Kujou upset. He starts to badmouth Kaori and Kaori tries to explain her situation when the girls come back with crepes. They start talking about how they thought Kaori was with Kujou in 6th grade, that Kaori got him first. The girls keep talking about her accident which makes Kujou X__X but Kaori has already lost it at the mention of getting Kujou first. She starts to remember THE DAY and runs away upset. Kujou looks like he is going to go after her when Yuuki rounds the corner and blames Kujou for her being upset. Saki eventually finds Kaori and just being around seems to calm Kaori down and planting the seeds that Yuuki is her special friend. Despite not liking the dude Yuuki explains Kaori's memory plans to Kujou. Instead of Kujou accepting this news with...acceptance he basically is all over the place. Kaori really doesn't know Yuuki. Kaori might write lies in her diary. Maybe she is lying about the whole thing. Yuuki tries to not get mad and even says that at times it felt like they were playing “let's be friends”. But he knows that they were really friends, no matter what anyone says. What they were starting to build was real. Yuuki knows that they have to keep on trying, despite this setback. Kaori spends time looking at her three diaries, looking lost. THE END!
 photo friendsepisode104_zpsee883685.jpg
Thanks for support there Shougo.
Well then. I guess we don't like the new guy. How dare he be handsome (and slightly...metrosexual). Doesn't he know all bad guys are ugly. Someone needs to watch some classic Disney movies or something. HOW DARE HE!
 photo friendsepisode107_zps9273451d.jpg
I certainly didn't think there would be bentos so soon.
I thought the episode was going to go a little differently. I always think/say that though don't I? But judging by Kaori's reaction last episode I thought that it was game over for Yuuki. That he would have to start over from scratch. But Kaori just had....her memories reset. She didn't lose the diary or decide she hates Yuuki. She just reverted back to her COLD behavior until she realized her notes and diary. Then she was back to being....friends with Yuuki. Not the close friends they were before as she has no lingering feelings/memories for the boy but it wasn't all doom and gloom. There weren't glaring faces for long. Although it would have been nice....well I guess she wouldn't remember being “rude” to Yuuki in the clinic would she? I guess she can't apologize for that.
 photo friendsepisode1016_zpse31df8e2.jpg
This would be a whole lot of lying.....
Most of this “good” news is lost upon Yuuki though. Because things have changed. Kaori might be talking to him in the classroom (which was a big step for Kaori prior to episode 10) but there is still something missing. A lot missing. The built up feeling that she knew Yuuki. Of course Yuuki likes Kaori and Kaori likes Yuuki but they haven't said it out loud yet. So they lost that feeling of fluffness and how can Yuuki explain that? He can't so he is stuck trying to be happy with what he got. Kaori reads her diary and talks to him. Acknowledges him. He knows that she is capable of more though so all he needs to do is work up to that level again.
 photo friendsepisode106_zps702b9082.jpg
Did Kaori even talk to Saki this week?
I sorta wonder the memory level of people in the class though. Or their perception levels as Kaori was clearly acting different. Saki's friends didn't say much but Kaori wasn't really engaged with talking to them. Yuuki can only save Kaori from situations like this for so long. Name tags for everyone!!!! I wonder if people would have gotten put off if this a bit more realistic. Like Kaori was a bit...cold but then Saki and Yuuki brought her out of her shell. Then a bit of the cold, reserved Kaori came back. Kaori does write about others in her diary right? I don't know, I would expect this to have more consequences than Yuuki being sad. Other people could have been offended which would have caused Kaori more friend distress and more reasons for Yuuki to hate Kujou.
 photo friendsepisode103_zps38ac6c78.jpg
This is how much Kaori cares.
Kujou is doing a great job of ticking Yuuki off though. And making sure that Kaori remembers him from now on since they are not friends. Right, that's how it works? So each and every time he is a brat to her she should remember and avoid him more? I guess I don't know why her brain is acting this way so maybe not. She seems to not capable of handing much stress. But yeah Kujou....he isn't earning much points in Yuuki's book. Although Yuuki might want to step back a few notches as he looked kinda bizarre in his formal way of volunteering to be Kujou's book sharer person. And that sentence really, really sucked. So yeah Kujou didn't have a book and Yuuki isn't trusting this Kaori mind messer upper. Since Kaori has no idea what is going on she acted like her cold self despite Kujou being a jerk. I get that the kid is hurt but man....what if Kaori forgot about him naturally? I am sure I remember some kids from elementary school and they have forgotten about me. So you and Kaori read some poems in 6th grade. Having a hissy fit makes you look like a weird exchange student, hopefully the other kids are like HMMM why so mean to Kaori since they like Kaori now.
 photo friendsepisode105_zpsd09d23ec.jpg
At least glare at him Shougo!
Yuuki voiced his concerns to Shougo. Because that is what Yuuki does. Shougo is a good friend when you think about it and a crappy one at the same time. Yuuki is clearly not happy with how things are going and Shougo is like...well Kaori forgets things all the time, why is it different this time? Technically Shougo is right but.....wrong at the same time. Kaori was remembering things and this is a set back. Yuuki doesn't want to look like a crybaby or that it is all about him but really he did do a lot of work and this was upsetting yet Shougo was either saying it was no big deal or pretending it was no big deal as to not upset Yuuki anymore. I am on the fence on how Shougo handled the Kujou situation when the hommie rolled up looking for soda. I am not a dude so I don't know man code. Maybe Shougo was letting Yuuki handle it as to not make his friend look weak. But when Kujou was talking out of his ass I wanted Shougo to stand next to his friend and look a little threatening. I get that Kujou is hurt and he is expressing it in awful ways but...just no. Yuuki is trying to keep things together and Kujou was pushing all the wrong buttons. Maybe Shougo understood that Kujou and Yuuki had a lot in common so he didn't want to get involved. Or he is lazy.
 photo friendsepisode1011_zps6a97fccf.jpg
But lets not talk about this Kujou person.
Despite Kaori and Yuuki being friends via the diary and lunch on the roof....Yuuki has not been having the greatest week. It's really not Kaori's fault but Yuuki was used to progress and now they have taken 10 steps back. Kaori innocently talking about the 18 grams of sugar set Yuuki off sorta badly. She just wondered about this magical sugar amount and it brought tears to Yuuki's eyes. Like real tears. Because the number 18 has evolved into something else for them. It was the number that sparked Kaori's first memory of Yuuki. It was a day she now celebrated all the time. Every 18th was magical. So Kaori not knowing this was sad but if Yuuki made it a big deal in front of Kaori that would be sad. So off he went to cry alone. Then the next lunchy Kaori decided that it would be fun to ask Yuuki about Kujou. You know, the guy that Yuuki would hate if Yuuki had a mean bone in his body. All Kaori knows is the boy makes her feel weird and Yuuki doesn't know what to tell her. :( He tells her what he knows though because he is a good honest boy.
 photo friendsepisode1010_zps02b20f3a.jpg
And then Shougo melted on the ground. X___X
During all of this Saki watches. Watches because something is not right with Kaori. Did anyone tell Saki what was up with Kaori? HMMM I think not as she seemed confused when she confronted Shougo. Shougo's attitude was still leave it alone, maybe because he knows they really can't do anything because they are teachers and not psychiatrist. Saki wasn't taking this laying down though. Everyone has helped her so she needs to help out when she can. Which won't happen very often. She rather just have other people take care of her. And since she can't marry Kaori because they are both girls...well she will just have to marry Shougo because he will make a good and reliable husband. And that is exactly how the conversation went. I am surprised that Shougo was able to follow that without his head exploding. He did however...blush. This little relationship is moving right along. I wonder if part of him is hurt because he thinks that Saki only wants him because he takes care of her, not for other reasons. Because Shougo is a dream boat. Oh those crazy kids. Trying to talk about helping Kaori and Saki proposes to a blushing Shougo. All is cute in the world.
 photo friendsepisode1012_zpsa758ebec.jpg
These poor forgotten crepes!
Eventually more drama has to happen because this is high school. Due to Kaori not remembering things properly but reading about them she decided she wanted to go get crepes with Yuuki. Even though it was a school day and they would be going alone. See Yuuki, don't you see how much progress you have made? Or maybe it isn't progress as Kaori has subconsciously forgot that she was subconsciously in love with Yuuki thus she couldn't go with him alone anywhere. ANYWAY it is crepe time....well after Yuuki has to clean the classroom. Because this guy can't catch a break. :(
 photo friendsepisode1013_zps1284a735.jpg
Did you forget everyone?!
This is where things go wrong. Kaori was waiting for Yuuki to show up for crepes when Kujou rolls up with two random girls. Only it turns out they are not so random, all four of them were in the same classes in elementary school. Being Kaori she doesn't remember any of them and comes across as off. Not cold just off. This pisses off Kujou because deep down he really cares about being forgotten. He thought they were bros and here Kaori is not remembering him at all. Not remembering these girls and brushing them off is this really the Kaori he once knew?! Kaori actually attempts to explain her condition this time but Kujou doesn't want to listen. He is pissed and wants to let it all out.
 photo friendsepisode1014_zps205e9af8.jpg
Trying to determine if these are evil faces or not.
When the girls return from their crepe buying they decide to make the situation worse. They need to learn to read the mood. Or they are awful people. See it is hard to know if these are the mean girls or not. These two girls mentioned how Kaori and Kujou were an item back in 6th grade, that Kaori got to Kujou first. They kept on talking while Kujou denied but Kaori went into a tail spin. Forgotten memories filled her little brain about that ill fated day. Kujou moving away wasn't the issue that sent Kaori crying into the streets. It was the other little girls being jealous that Kaori somehow stole Kujou from them. Kaori ran away upset because THOSE girls were being mean to her. Are these girls the same girls? Or are they the girls from the hospital? Either way Kaori got triggered and ran off upset in the present, making the two girls confused and Kujou....well he was on his way to upset land.
 photo friendsepisode1017_zpsb57e8220.jpg
Now shut up before I cry!
Enter the Yuuki! He watched Kaori run away upset so he assumed it was Kujou. I have to give Yuuki credit, he didn't punch the kid. Not that it's in Yuuki's character to do so. Instead he saw that Kujou might actually be upset about Kaori, like he was. So Yuuki opened his mouth and told Kaori's business....even though she was going to do so herself. Kujou is either a grade A brat or still really hurt about this situation because he decided to jab the knife a little more in Yuuki's heart, saying everything from the diary is a lie to Kaori isn't really his friend. Yuuki allows himself exactly 4 seconds of feeling bad for himself before he pulls it together and says they really are friends and they will get back on track. Kujou is just so upset that he was forgotten he was saying horrible and mean things....yet Yuuki doesn't deserve it. Just a horrible situation all around. Crepes forgotten Yuuki makes his way home, hopeful that things will magically turn around for him. Will it though? :( Guess we will have to find out next time...

Isshuukan Friends episode 9

 photo friendsepisode915_zpsf97c80e7.jpg
XO Who is this being all glare like and mean?
One last post for the night. I had hoped to get another Isshuukan Friends post blogged and up but the force was not strong with me. Lost my wind when the wind stopped blowing through the open windows. 4 is still pretty good though right? Maybe I will get more done tomorrow. Or I will take a cue from another anime I am watching and literally melt on the ground. But for now we have the slice of life anime Isshuukan Friends. Episode 9 is 3 parts math and 1 part drama. Always drama you know?
 photo friendsepisode95_zpsf2b291a3.jpg
Thanks for the support.
Episode Summary: Yuuki puts on a super serious face....and tells the others summer break is over and all they have is this day to do their homework. Shougo is like I did my homework the first day slacker unlike you who always waits until the last minute. Kaori did some each day and Saki is like what is homework? I usually coping people's homework because I am Saki. Shougo comments that Saki hasn't changed at all which brings around the same conversation that they went to school together. Saki doesn't remember since she only remembers fun things and Shougo the robot is not insulted. Saki decides she wants to watch a TV show with Kaori, to take a break. Yuuki is like we haven't even started yet! Yuuki takes the time to point out Shougo is nice for worrying about Saki. Finally the studying is happening but Yuuki and Saki really hate math. Kaori's mom doesn't really help matters when she brings treats to the crew with the promise of more treats. Shougo takes the time to eat treats before he looks uninterested again. Saki tries to do the same but Kaori is being a motivator today. She eventually finishes her work first and offers to help the others. Yuuki is frustrated but wants to try on his own first. Kaori then sings a love song about math and how it's the journey not the answer that matters. Everyone is touched. Since no work at all is getting done Kaori's Mom calls them downstairs for more treats. Everyone helps get things ready with Shougo watching over the shorty Saki. Kaori's Mom teases a bit about Kaori and Yuuki being a couple and talks about how much Kaori has changed. The crew eventually starts filling up again on treats and Saki wants to be Kaori's little sister because the store doesn't sell cupcakes. As Kaori and Saki get them more tea Yuuki talks with Shougo about how he doesn't think he has helped Kaori enough as she still has the memory issue. Shougo repeats Kaori's love song from earlier, it is the process that is more important. Eventually studying resumes until Saki says she has to go home for dinner. Shougo goes as well since he had no homework at all. Saki is still not done with her work and Kaori is a bit worried. Before Saki and Shougo part he hands Saki basically all the work that she just needs to recopy for herself. He claims he was bored and just wrote it all down for her. Saki remembers in elementary school someone did the same thing for her, leaving all the work in her shoe locker. Saki asks if that was Shougo and he says it was nothing, he was just trying to motivate her. Or stop the kids from picking on her. Saki says she looks forward to Shougo taking care of her again to which Shougo is like AW MAN...with a smile on his face.
 photo friendsepisode94_zpsca189367.jpg
I am sure that will end well when she becomes an adult. Or work will be a brand new experience each and every day.
Yuuki continues to do his homework with Kaori cheering him on. She mentions her diary and Yuuki wants to know why she remembers him more lately. She doesn't know, just that she has been changing lately. She never wanted to make friends because she knew she was going to lose them but Yuuki tried his best for her. Yuuki gets all blushy and Kaori is like stay for dinner! She of course trips and Yuuki falls on her. He is embarrassed about the situation while she is smiling away. Mom walks in and is like oh sorry for interrupting. Yuuki runs to explain but Mom is like lalala young love with Kaori is too derpy to understand. The next morning Yuuki is walking to school alone when Kaori runs up to him. She is excited, saying something good is going to happen today. Yuuki of course is happy that THIS is the good thing. When they arrive at class it is seat changing day. Yuuki really wants a certain seat so he can watch over Kaori. Things turn out perfect when he ends up sitting with Kaori. Saki ends up next to her other friends and Shougo...well he is still in the room. Their teacher returns to the room with a new transfer student. It's the kid from the end of the last episode and his name is Kujou. The only free seat is next to Kaori of course. As the boy goes to sit down he recognizes Kaori. She of course does not know him which really pisses Kujou off. He calls her a traitor for breaking their promise. Kaori gets upset and mutters Kujou's last name before passing out. Of course Yuuki freaks out and takes her to the clinic. Yuuki waits until Kaori wakes up. At first she doesn't say much as Yuuki goes on and on about how everyone was worried. Kaori thanks him for the concern but asks who he is. Yuuki is confused and goes to touch Kaori which pisses her off and brings about her mean eyes. Kaori has lost her memories again?! THE END!
 photo friendsepisode911_zps653f139a.jpg
Kaori is going on and on about how she just KNOWS who Yuuki is now and fuzzy fills my soul.
Well I was on a roll last week. Or I was attempting to get on a roll. Silly me and my lazy self. Or that fact that I just get too caught up in movies. I am not even a super Ghostbuster fan and I found myself watching both movies back to back on their 30th anniversary day. All the while I was typing 3 words per hour it seems. XD So yeah...I am slightly distractable. GO ME!
 photo friendsepisode9_zps2f0315e3.jpg
We can do this people!
So when we last saw our happy slice of life family they were having tons of fun not swimming at the beach and nearly flying away because of a freak storm. I envied their happy times and wished to go back to my high school days. Or at least summer days because you know...high school isn't all a slice of life makes it out to be. XD But now it is time for the dreaded summer homework from Japanland. See Summer in Japan isn't that long at all. They go to school all year long with some breaks here and there. Nothing like 2.5 months off in the United States. Which must be hard on working parents now that I think about it. But in Japan kids are self reliant and super special so they can take care of themselves. WOOHOO! Now it is time to get that homework done.

Oh Saki...at least you are honest.
Bring on the super fun math times. Since Shougo spent most of his summer vacation inside away from the sun and heat he already got his work done. All of it!! I am sure they had more than math to do right? That would be a little unfair yes? Either way Shougo is a responsible person and wants to get the boring homework out of the way so he can focus on being lazy later. That is how I strive to be sometimes. Attempt to at least. Yuuki is more like my husband. I want to have fun while I can, putting off unpleasant things as long as possible. Then BAM it is the last day and homework is still not done. Or you know none of the laundry one needs isn't done 10pm the day before said event. I thought that Kaori would have been completely done too. Maybe she would have been but she was spending so much time with Ryouta each day at the park with misquotes and karaoke she just did a bit of work each night until it was nearly done. I support that way of thinking too. Just enough work to keep everything fresh in your mind but not enough to consume the entire day. Saki...well Saki is just a hot mess as everyone already knows.

Please be more than friends!
I am pretty sure this is the coolest mom on the planet. You know, the one that is cool without trying. Not like here in America where the cool moms buy drugs and drink beer with underage minors. This is the United States, we can't have nice things you know. Or another way to look at it is she is the worst mother ever, Kaori's obviously. Since no one else has parents. Kaori's mother is always making treats and stuffing the crew silly. Which will obviously make them fat. She is also always interrupting their studying. So they are going to fail high school. So Kaori's mom better make the house up for 3 new house guests. Because she is going to have some Neets on her hand. XD Oh Kaori's mom...she is just so excited that her little girl has friends again she is going over the top and being nice and awesome. How dare she!

Can I just have the answers please? Thanks.
Kaori isn't a teacher so I guess I can't judge her on her tutoring skills. Maybe I can. She seems to be more like...do your homework and I will look at you and smile when you get things wrong. Then show you how you did it wrong. More like work at your own pace and I am here if you need me. But in Yuuki and Saki's case they always need help. XD Kaori did break up the boringness by talking about her true love, math. At first it looked like she was having a moment. I mean....she did got off on a tangent. But later Shougo made her sound sane. Although....was she right? It has been a very long time since I mathed but usually there was one way to do a problem, a certain formula that had to be done. Remember to show your work! Whatever the case is according to Kaori it is the journey that matters. Just how exciting it is to start at one point and then you end up where you belong, traveling along the wild west of numbers and what not. Yeah Kaori....it's been a while since I mathed. But I am glad you are able to see the fun in things. XD

Well that came out of nowhere...but apparently not on Shougo's end.
Shougo took part of this episode to show us that he is more than just a pretty face and snarky attitude. No no folks this boy might be feeling...love? While I had no idea why he bothered to show up to a study session that wouldn't benefit him in the least but then I sat down and thought about it. He likes Saki so of course he is going to show up where she is. Maybe like is too strong of a word since this is Shougo we are dealing with. But Saki's lack of wanting to remember anything despite having the capability is frustrating at best, especially when Kaori is struggling to hold on to hers. Yuuki has the patience of a saint and how can Kaori really judge her? But Shougo...he seems to be accepting of her almost rudeness. Throw in the fact that Shougo has been helping Saki for a while (all the way back from elementary school) and the guy must like her. Why he didn't even scoff later when Saki, after being helped once again by Shougo, tells him she will look forward to him being reliable in the future. Like say your thank yous and promise to do better yourself instead of automatically expecting to fail later. Since Shougo smirked I am taking that to mean he will help Saki out later and there will be no grudges. Smells like....almost like to me.

I will bring you more snacks afterwards!
Kaori's mom struck again folks. With food and her actions/words. There was another long break from not studying to eat more food. I don't think my mom ever made us snacks when we had a study group. I think we brought our own horrible food. But while Kaori and Saki were off being silly Mom was trying to get her hooks in on a son-in-law. Like you understand Kaori and are doing this all for her (well maybe you too but whatever) I want you for life so I know that Kaori will be taken care of. Why even when Mom catches Yuuki on top of Kaori she didn't pound him into dog meat. That is a win in my book....although I guess she might have been too cool about that. But since she knows Yuuki she probably knew it was an accident so she was doing some teasing. Or she wants to be a young grandmother, whatever works for her.

Look at this large step Kaori is taking! Woohoo for Yuuki!
Everything was going great. Summer had a lot of fun trips. People got their math homework done. And while Yuuki was worried he wasn't doing enough for Kaori's condition Shougo manage to tell him it was all about the journey. That Kaori seems to be doing better. Who cares that they all gained 10 pounds from yummy treats and Kaori is slightly...thick in the skull. Everything is coming together. Yuuki even got a back to school surprise. Well two actually. Kaori and Yuuki usually would meet at school. It used to be only on the roof top during lunch but steamroller Saki changed the game. But now Kaori has taken it one step further into friendship land and walked to school with Yuuki. I don't know if his heart can handle this much excitement. Oh wait...their seats are next to each other now during class? Yeah Yuuki has died and gone to heaven. Poor forgotten Shougo off in the middle of nowhere.

So innocent this face. Then 10 seconds later.
Since this was an over the top happy episode something had to come and ruin it all. And it came in the form of Mr. Transfer Student Kujou. He was seen last episode unpacking crap at his house, finally back in Tokyo. Due to anime magic Kujou was placed next to Kaori in class which lead to a dramatic reunion, one we all knew was coming even before Kujou arrived in town. Something caused Kaori to lose all her memories and I guessed it was a friend moving away and she couldn't handle the drama. Sounds like she needs to man up. But yeah....Kaori couldn't handle a friend moving away so she decided that it would be better to not have any friends. Since this is the year 1265 there was no way for Kaori or her parents to keep in contact with Kujou and his family thus he was unaware of her new condition. I would have been mad at the lack of letters or calls too. So Kujou rolls up in his seat and is all glaring at Kaori. He might have been a little dramatic with the traitor bit but you know...he was hurt and this show is full of feelings. So he let them all out over her in the first 5 seconds of class. Great first impression.

And now we are back to square one. :( Where is the happy Yuuki time now?
Kaori did not react well to being called a traitor and glared at. The girl is still working on this whole friend thing. So....it looks like her brain tried to remember Kujou causing her to pass out. She is taken to the clinic by Yuuki (duh) because he cares so much about her. This is his friend, someone he cares about and wants to get better no matter the cost. He has lots of feelings too. So when Kaori wakes up and it is almost automatic cold eyes again....Yuuki was pretty upset. What went wrong? The morning was so perfect and the second she sees this Kujou dude she passes out and doesn't remember who he is? Obviously he doesn't know their connection yet and even so...they had built a connection. :( Why is it effecting him? Just one thing is certain...do not touch pretend angry Kaori. She will bit your head off. So sad for poor Yuuki. :( What is going to happen now and how far is Kujou going to take this? Will the diary save them all? Guess we will have to find out next time....
