Black Bullet episode 13 FINAL EPISODE

Okay guys....there are less of us now and we have no batteries to light our way. Surely we will win this time.

Another Spring anime has come to an end folks. A sure sign that I need to get my butt in gear and pick the shows I want to watch in a few weeks. Or a week. Hopefully a week. Not a day right? MOG am I already behind? X____X Well...I will deal with that tomorrow, the day in which my country celebrates it's independence by blowing things up. Today I will say goodbye to Black Bullet as episode 13 marks it's end. Or does it? Spoilers for Rentarou having weird reactions to situations.

Because this Gastrea wasn't strong enough folks. It needs missiles too.

Episode Summary: Everyone under Rentarou's command is waiting at the Flames of Whatever. The batteries have yet to arrive and the Gastrea will arrive within 5 minutes. Miori is worried and Shoma is like look they aren't coming. Tamaki is like we are either going to die here waiting or are going to die meeting them head on, make your mind up Rentarou. Just as Rentarou goes to command everyone to charge Enju points to the sky. Someone has turned on the movie Tangled and the floating lanterns light up the sky. Before Mother Gothel can come and ruin this moment Rentarou calls Seitenshi. Apparently she has emerged from the underground safety area and has put on the festival that had been planned for the day, to celebrate when humans won the Second Gastrea war. Everyone who hasn't been selected to go into the safe zones have put their wishes into a lantern and it is up to Rentarou to protect their hopes. Rentarou gives a we can do it speech and the attack commences .They start off with far off attacks but soon it is fighting face to face time. Since Miori's plan hinges on Rentarou busting through Mr. Level 5's hard shell he and the other mains take off running towards the serious dangerous. Rentarou keeps on pausing to look at the battle which gives every single main the chance to protect him and remind him of his important mission. Soon Rentarou and Enju encounter the huge baddie and after some impressive maneuvering because the damn thing has spike missiles Rentarou and Enju implant the bomb before the thing seals itself. Rentarou warns everyone to duck and protects Enju. Only....the bomb fails and Rentarou realizes it has to be activated manually. He tells Enju he had doubts about the kind of person he was going to be for a while but then he met her and she changed him. He thanks her...then punches her in the stomach so she passes out in a Gastrea infested area. Rentarou and his mighty Varanium parts take off and fly towards Mr. Level 5, thinking how a direct hit on the sucker will activate the bomb. Well Rentarou seems to have forgotten that this creature eats away at Varanium and one spit slime dissolves Rentarou's leg. Rentarou tries crawling away but before he can fail in a blaze of glory Shoma shows up. He gets Rentarou to safety and informs Rentarou his magical made up technique destroys an enemy from the inside out so he should be the one who dies for the cause. Rentarou is seriously against this plan but Shoma says it should be this way since his special technique is considered taboo. Shoma demands that Rentarou lives on for him and runs off, punching the Level 5 in the gut and causing a giant explosion.

Killing you? Stompin on your face? Because yeah dude....

Enju wakes up Rentarou later and they both look at the massive hole the bomb created. Enju says that Tina saw the whole fight and what Shoma did for them all. Once the level 5 died the rest of the Gastrea started acting funny which made it easier to chase them off. Rentarou looks around and besides the other mains about 6 other people survived. Rentarou is distraught. In the distance helicopters are carrying the blocks to make the new pillar. The news reports on this happy news but clearly there needs to be more drama. A french fry hair dude drives up to a house and greets Kisara and company coldly. Of course this dude (Kasumitsu) is Kisara's brother and the tension is thick. Kisara throws around a book and says she knows that her brother cheaped out on making the first pillar and he is responsible for many deaths. Kasumitsu starts cackling that he can throw money a problem and will live forever. Kasumitsu and Kisara then decide to duel to the death with Kasumitsu's assistant and Rentarou as witnesses and Enju and Tina as chopped liver. Rentarou thinks this is a bit insane but the two siblings glare at each other. Then Kisara takes on a different fighting stance and wins the fight in a blink of an eye. Her move apparently has a split second...second swing and Kasumitsu loses a leg. Kisara then starts talking about how 10 years ago that rogue Gastrea was way to random to come and kill her family. Way too calm Kisara wants answers. Kasumitsu denies this situation for 5 seconds but then reveals that their family has been slimy for years and dead old Dad was going to expose the family. 5 family members agreed to allow the Gastrea to kill the trouble makers. Kisara gets creepy and gathers everyone to leave the room. Rentarou thinks she has spared her brother but it turns out that the leg being sliced off was the first strike, the second secret one...well sliced his body in half. Rentarou runs back in and Kasumitsu is all over the wall. Rentarou is X__X while Kisara gets an insane look on her face, that she finally got part of her revenge and she should be happy. Rentarou is like um no you be crazy. Unhappy with Rentarou's response Kisara says she can fight evil because she is evil and justice Rentarou will never win. Rentarou was unable to kill his enemies but she was able to. GO HER! She leaves and Rentarou tells Tina and Enju Kisara might be his enemy now. Seitenshi makes a speech on TV, one that talks about giving the Chosen Children more rights in the wake of this tragedy and things seem okay now. All the mains are seen doing...well alive things as Rentarou and Enju visit the “school” where all her friends died. They take the train home but are delayed when someone suicides on the tracks. Rentarou brushes it off as a inconvenience and Enju wonders about death and what not. Suddenly Rentarou remembers all his fallen comrades and cries, worried that he has come used to death. He cries on Enju, saying she gives him stability and she is never allowed to leave him. Despite the fact she was giving him conditions on staying alive she agrees. YAY FOR HOPE! THE END!

Well that is that. Well maybe not. Given how things ended there may be more that later on, maybe next year. But for now this is that and that is over. A bit more satisfying than the other shows I watched this season but still....off.

Yeah. That is the unfair thing in this world...

I still want to know on what planet Miori lives on not to have the batteries delivered via her own people. I am not even talking about that obvious loser and his band of merry idiots. Her company is the largest weapons manufacturer in Japan and they have no batteries to operate said weapons? Generators? Nothing. I think I would have lost hope well before the 10 minute mark. Especially if I was one of the other pairs barely holding on to my sanity. All my friends are dead and now a brand new leader is in charge to threaten me. WOOHOO this plan is insane. I thought that more was going to come from that. These civil pairs usually fight over spilled milk but I guess given the week they are having a few stabbed people is okay in the grand scheme of things. In any event.....everyone is just standing there waiting to die.

Then at last they could see the light folks. I busted out laughing when all the lanterns started to float up and Enju saw them first. Like really, does no one look up in this anime? Guess not. They just snuck up on them. I totally forgot about the festival in light of all the people looking forward to said festival got blasted into little children bits. Seitenshi is a good person I suppose. It had nothing to do with brownie points...which is what I would have done. But since most of the population wasn't safe anyway they might as well do something, anything at that point. Keeping the faith in little girls that everyone really hates. Come Rapunzel and tiny girl who got her brains shot out early on in the series. Let us talk to Rentarou on the phone and give all our hopes and dreams to him. No pressure.

So with these magical lanterns the battle could commence. I would have asked for more of the magical bullets that can go a million miles without stopping but that is just me. I think it takes away from Tina being so awesome when everyone else has weapons. Given that we need to focus on the young people who aren't scum bags Rentarou and his gang hit the ground running first as the plan called for seeing Mr. Level 5 up close and personal. I am sure the other pairs left in this show aren't bad people...just most of the adults alive in this world seem to be assholes so they all get mushed together. It is being presented as such though. Given that they are fighting to protect others must mean they must have a tiny bit of goodness in them yes?

But this show is not about them of course. It is about Rentarou and his rag tag team of heroes. Since this is the last episode everyone was given a chance to shine. That shine came in the form of Rentarou not having his head in the game though. Like dude pay attention, Gastrea are all around you. Instead everyone got a moment to protect Rentarou from danger and make sure he survived long enough to complete the mission. Go Rentarou leader...you can do this. I am surprised no one tried to take Hiruko out accidentally though. Like oppies my bad. Also surprised that Kohina didn't cut anyone.

Rentarou and Enju make it to the Giant Level 5 Gastrea that has a name but I refuse to use it for some unknown reason. I think the entire budget for this show was either beyond high or someone used their own funds because Mr. Level 5 looks...well amazing. He is a very slow moving amazing though which leaves him vulnerable. Maybe he should have called upon some of his lower friends to flank him. It is like they saw the Golden Corral of people and headed off into battle without thinking to stay and protect the leader. Enter Enju and Rentarou showing off a few moves before they slice him open slightly and throw the amazing bomb inside his body. I sorta wonder why Rentarou bothers with so much skin and what not on his fake limbs if said skin has to be destroyed to use the limbs properly. I guess that isn't the point though.

But what about me?!

The point is Rentarou broke through the tough shell with his limbs, planted the bomb, and ran like hell why contacting everyone else to take cover. Then.......nothing happened. Of course nothing happened. Why would anything easy happen in this anime? The blood bath hadn't happened yet. But instead of everyone dying if Rentarou, the hope of all, died it would be truly tragic. Rentarou quickly determines if the bomb can't go off by remote he can activate it manually with his fist. He can't be putting Enju in danger though because he has to save all the women. Instead he says something sappy and awful and amazing, something that will eat at Enju the rest of her life as survivor guilt eats away at her soul. Like thanks for making this that much harder dude. Enju should have realized what Rentarou was thinking though, that he would take off alone to save the day. Punch to the gut and off Rentarou goes. How awful would it have been though if a Gastrea ate Enju while Rentarou was gone and if he had taken her and fought together they both would have lived? Watch The Mist yo.

Don't do it Shoma! I still barely know you.

Rentarou was not really thinking that clearly though when he wanted to save everyone. He was dodging those random missiles of explosionness. Is this Gastrea a Pokemon or something? Anyway the main reason everyone is in this pile of suck is because Mr. Level 5 can dissolve Varanium. Rentarou has Varanium parts. Anyone else see a problem with this? So before Rentarou can die for his country he is left unable to fly, the mission...doomed. Doomed I tell you. Whatever can happen now?! We need to activate the boom from inside of Mr. Level 5 and it's not like we have someone with a made up magical karate move that can blow things up from the inside. ALL IS LOST! Or...you know Shoma. I really don't understand all this karate crap but I understand it is logical in this world. Still it just seems super convenient that in the last hour Rentarou and Kisara's long lost friend comes out of nowhere with this magical Gastrea destroying power. I mean....he is such a last minute addition to the crew it is almost...not sad that he died? I guess Tamaki wasn't around much longer but still. I didn't feel the sadness that Rentarou felt watching someone he really cared about died. We the viewers were just told that these two (three) were close and what not. I didn't get to feel it. :( So...yeah. I felt bad for Rentarou though. He wants to die for his friends but the idea of his friends dying for him was too much for him. I was kinda hoping that Hiruko was lurking around the corner with his little shield and protected Shoma at the last minute. Nopers folk. Shoma died...but not before telling Rentarou sappy and awful and amazing things.

By the time Rentarou wakes up the battle is over and Enju is standing there, probably wanting to hit the moron in the face. Like stop trying to be the hero....because obviously that is Shoma's job now. Or was since...he was the ultimate hero and is gone now. As well as a lot of the ground they are standing on and most of the pairs. That huge group of people that came to save the day...yeah there are like 8 other people left besides the main pairs (minus Miori/Shoma). So even though the group won and the Tokyo area is saved...the cost was pretty great. Not that any of the regular morons in the city care but yeah...an almost empty victory. The pillar is going to be rebuilt and the rest of the citizens will be safe for the time being now that the Varanium eating one is gone. On a surprising note Seitenshi was not overthrown. I guess she spun the lantern thing in her favor because before the battle people were all hating on her. Did they see the light that some people had to be saved while the others had to tough it out? I don't know but I sorta rolled my eyes at the idea of people wanting to take care of the Chosen Children now. That somehow their sacrifice matters. Yeah don't think so. I am surprised so many girls are still alive but I don't think things are magically going to improve for them. Seitenshi tried before and there has been DOOM before and people were still asses. It would be nice but I am not believing it.

Why wouldn't all the pillars be made by the government? I mean I guess they could hire contractors and what not but still....just...eye rolling.

So since there is going to be a second season of this show and almost no time at all was devoted to the box tricycle of not making senseness....we had to end things on a different note. Or a cliffhanger. Because ending with a battle and a tiny bit of hope would be too optimistic. And this show has had its optimism ground into tiny pieces of broken dreams on the sidewalk. We need to end this with tears and confusion woohoo!!!! So you know how Miori was all like hey I am dying so let me tell you how people smell? Well apparently Kisara smells like she could be evil. So what better way to get this show another villain since Hiruko is...largely ignored now than get somethings going with Kisara?

TEAM DESTINY!

But here's the thing folks....I am on team Kisara. Like almost all the way. She lost a few points at the end when she pretended to go all villiany but largely I am on her side. Her older brother cheaped out on making a pillar that cost countless lives. Probably wanted to pin it on Chosen Children. Laughed about how he can get away with things because of money. Hell people are dying left and right in this world, why shouldn't Kisara cut this dude who caused so much damage? And that wasn't even the real issue! The real problem Kisara had with her brother was him and 4 other family members killed her parents by letting loose a Gastrea in the area. You know, the one that maimed Rentarou and caused Kisara health issues? Yeah her family did that to her because....well because her family does asshole things. Has been doing them for a long time. And her father was going to expose the family. So clearly the logical choice was to do more asshole things and endanger other people not in her family. DUH!!!!!

He seems to think after EVERYTHING ya'll have been through in the last few days.....you are the worse. I know right!

So to sum it up the brother along with other family members killed her parents, injured Kisara (but wanted her dead), maimed Rentarou, let lose a Gastrea that could have killed many neighbors and what not, AND skimped on the pillar which did lead to many deaths (almost everyone's). Can someone explain to me why Kisara is the evil one because she cut this dude in half? I mean give the girl a parade for saving the day. Sure her eyes got a little creepy and insaney but....that is because she IS a good person and it hurts to a kill a person, even if they are scum. Plus it was her family that did all these awful things. She is allowed to have her moment. But no folks. No. Rentarou and his judgey self has decided that Kisara was wrong, that she should have been the better person, turned the other cheek, and...I don't know, other terms that mean the bad guys win. After all this death and mayhem hasn't Rentarou realized that these assholes mean business? That sometimes you have to get your hands dirty to fight back? I am not saying that Kisara needs to go around cutting everyone in half. But yeah....this guy deserved this and more. Rentarou got his revenge too but doesn't even know it. Instead Rentarou makes Tina and Enju put on shocked faces which puts Kisara on the defensive for no reason. Like fine I will be the bad guy now. Evil fighting evil. Dramatic yes. But....Rentarou is pretty awful. I sorta feel like stabbing him for his judgey behavior.

So if Enju dies it will be game over for Rentarou?

As Kisara rides off into the sunset more evil that Hiruko in Rentarou's eyes we need to bring it back a little. Can't totally have NO HOPE at all or we would have to call this show Attack on (by) Titans. If Kisara is the baddie we need to be reminded that Rentarou is the hope, the light in the world. Despite it all Rentarou still has Enju. He tries to forgot and move on from death but after brushing off a suicide as an inconvenience he realizes he getting TOO used to death. That he wasn't mourning properly and what not. That he might be teaching Enju those things. But you can be a strong person and cry when bad things happen. Just in this world you have to pick yourself up rather fast or get eaten by a Gastrea. So yes Rentarou still has faith in the world because of Enju. It might be a crappy place and he might have lost people along the way but he still has hope. Hope that season two will be a better place for all. You know, after more Gastrea appear, secrets revealed, and Enju dying because her corruption level is through the roof. But hope none the less. While this show had it's moments it was pretty enjoyable. Some eyerolling and sad moments but enjoyable. Chalk this one under the done pile though. XD

Black Bullet episode 12

Today has been an odd little day in the house of Tenchi. Probably stressful if you ask my cat. She is currently hiding from life as the last thing that happened scared the crap out of her. Do you know how awful every single fire alarm going off in your house sounds like is? Well I hope you don't but yeah it is pretty loud and high pitched. I figured that Kira the scaredy cat would be better off outside (which she is scared of) than being inside with the noise (which she was scared of and could have hurt her). The real loser in this situation...my shirt. :(

I think this was the main theme of the show. Why so angry with little girls and not the giant monsters coming to kill us?!

So due to all these delays I am getting a late start on getting things posted. We will go with that excuse. WEEE excuses. Anyway here Black Bullet episode 12. Spoilers for Rentarou being a one man army with a lot of luck and tears.

We shouldn't be fighting at all!!!!

Episode Summary: After spending hundreds of seconds with Hiruko and Kohina Rentarou happens on Ms. Level 5. She is chillin with all her Gastrea buddies and she is huge. Hiruko notes that Ms. Level 5 (or 4, probably 4 but who knows) has evolved to a point where she can't move or feed herself so she is dependent on the rest of the army circling them. Since Rentarou's explosive swam down river there is only one way to defeat such a large beast: Mortal Kombat. Hiruko decides he wants to help so....Rentarou and Hiruko run past the sleeping Gastrea and punch Ms. Level 5(4) in her tummy. She screams in pain as she dies and the other Gastrea wake up. Rentarou is still injured so Kohina helps carry him to safety. The trio hide out behind a waterfall as the large herd of Gastrea walk past, Rentarou getting a good look at Mr. Level 5 who is pissed the Queen is dead. The place that they are running to though is where all the other pairs are which is awful. Rentarou calls Seitenshi and tells her that Ms. Gastrea is dead so they can start bombing down. Because bombing before would be silly. The planes arrive and the bombs are dropped, scattering the low level Gastrea about. Mr. Level 5 commands the rest to start attacking the planes but a bomb lands on Mr. Level 5 and his head is blown off. Rentarou is like VICTORY....and Mr. Level 5 regenerates. As it retreats Enju comes out nowhere and hugs Rentarou to death on his wound. She yells for him leaving as Kisara runs up with tears in her eyes. She stops crying when everyone minus Midori walks up stating that Gado is dead and that the next highest rank is in command now. Guess who that is!!! First order of business is to look at Gado's dead body and tell him he isn't hated while his partner Asaka looks on. Rentarou has to cut it short as the remaining civil officer aren't very happy that Hiruko and Kohina are there. Turns out he is the one who killed some a few episodes back. Kohina is her usual I want to cut someone self and Hiruko isn't much better. Rentarou tells everyone to back off as their enemy is the Gastrea. Hiruko continues to be his delightful self so Rentarou turns to Shoma and asks where Midori is. Well turns out she is dying in bed. She was attacked while saving another in battle and by the time Shoma got to her her corrosion rate was.....too late. Hiruko recommends killing the girl since this is the world Rentarou is choosing to protect and live in.

The thing that can't be killed? Yeah let me get right on that.

Rentarou goes to look at Midori who wakes up but is having problems functioning. She talks about how she was never needed in life until Shoma and Rentarou came around and that she is happy. Rentarou says she is going to get better and not to worry. Midori talks about how Rentarou smells confused and Kisara smells like she could go to the dark side but as long as Rentarou is her leader she will be okay. Midori asks to go to the bathroom alone so Rentarou allows this....5 seconds later he knows what she meant and calls upon the others to search for the girl. Shoma and Rentarou find Midori in the woods with a self inflicted gunshot wound. Shoma comments that Midori wanted to spare the others pain and they should lie about what happened to her. Shoma says they became partners due to the other being lonely. He then talks about being asked to leave the dojo because of his special ability and blah blah no one cares. He and Rentarou cry, Shoma telling Rentarou to avenge Midori by killing Mr. Level 5. Rentarou in his new Leader Coat gathers up the rest of the troops. There are some scared people so Rentarou stabs one and Hiruko and Kohina hurt the other. Like this is Ricktatorship now bitches. Kisara is worried everyone will hate Rentarou now but Rentarou likes it like that. It makes them fear the Gastrea less in his silly mind. Asaka comes in and tells Rentarou he sucks as a leader and that Gado was better. Rentarou points out that Gado failed twice and is now dead. Asaka goes to attack but Shoma stops her. Shoma points out that they are both alone now and that they could temporarily fight together. Asaka reluctantly agrees. Miori shows up with her people and supplies much to Kisara's happiness. Since everything is a hot mess Miori's company is the only one left that can help anyway. Miori's company has made a bomb that can take out Mr. Level 5 but from the inside. Rentarou is like so we have to blow up it's hard shell, drop the bomb before it heals, and then wait for it to heal to activate said bomb?! So how to we hurt the hard shell in the first place?! Rentarou realize they mean to use him and his mighty hand. They all take a stand at the Flame of Revolution. Miori thinks the plan hinges on seeing the enemy first and waits for batteries to arrive for her lights. Everyone else gets into position except Enju who is still sad over all her school friends being dead. Rentarou says they have to keep the world existing before Enju decides if the world is worth protecting and all. Enju agrees to fight. Rentarou is finally ready for battle but...Takuto is seen throwing all the batteries in a body of water just to get back at Rentarou. WHY?! THE END!

Oh yeah and that happened too.

I really hope that the Summer 2014 animes are....well different. Maybe it is my fault for picking two similar premise sounding animes but I am sorta tired of all the stupidness that is going around in the human race. Does anyone want to live in this show? Or any shows? I have crazy thoughts of revenge and what not too but if rocket launching my enemy meant rocket launching myself I would probably....just glare at them really, really hard. Not kill tons of people because I got my feelings hurt.

Oh there you are. We have been looking for seconds for you.

And it happened twice folks! Twice. Well technically the first event happened at the end of the last episode, by sending Rentarou out to defeat the Ms. Gastrea of Mercuryness ALONE! Hello yes you are are best chance of survival, please go die now. If the enemy Hiruko hadn't saved the day everyone would have been dead. So that makes Hiruko stupid because he could have gotten his way had he let Rentarou get eaten by Gastrea dogs. This entire paragraph exists because there is no long winded explanation on how Hiruko and Rentarou found Ms. Gastrea of Mercuryness. Basically the episode started and....there it was. I know the creature is rather big and maybe the animals are stupid and have no tactically know how but I would have thought this would have taken longer and she would have been better protected.

The entire battle weeee!

There also won't be a long winded explanation on how they defeated Ms. Mercury either. They saw her and the other Gastrea taking a nap and......they ran up to the creature and punched it at the same time. THE END! That was the whole plan and that is how easy it was. I know that Rentarou and Hiruko are made of magical mental parts and the Gastrea are weak against that metal but...yeah it seemed way too easy for a monster that was doing that much damage. Perhaps it is that weak but it should have been guarded a bit more. Everyone taking a nap at the same time was a bit special. Anticlimactic if you would. Or Rentarou and Hiruko are the most dangerous humans on the planet and everyone should be equipped with Varanium parts.

Oh hi....um yeah let me just walk the other way...

After killing the second most impressive Gastrea is killed the others wake up. Including the big baddie Mr. Level 5 himself. And even though they are amazing Rentarou and Hiruko have to run for the hills (waterfalls) with Kohina because there is an entire army of Gastrea after them. While they hide though...the Gastrea go towards the rest of the civil pairs. I am sure Rentarou will feel guilty about this but Gado sent him to do this mission and well....he completed it. Do your part now Gado. Oh and Seitenshi too with the bombs that Rentarou called in later. I guess the good thing about Rentarou going in alone is that he would be the only one exploded if the mission was a success. So the bombs went off and the rest of the team fought. Oh and Rentarou got to meet the special Level 5 Gastrea. Look how expensive that thing is!!! I mean...look how mighty and scary it is. The damn thing got its head taken off and it POOFED back to life. Plus it was able to “talk” to the other Gastrea and get things exploding. Pretty awesome to me . Not so awesome if you are a human though.

What me?!?!?! Damn it. :(

After all is said and done the battle....was sorta won by the humans? Sorta. While Rentarou was successful in killing his target this wasn't all cupcakes and rainbows. After Enju and Kisara gave him hugs and yells for going off alone he got some interesting news. His eyeballs weren't really working though when someone obvious was missing but whatever. Maybe he was blinded by the fact that Gado was killed. I know I would have been. Of course after I was done being blinded I would have done a little dance. Like haha asshole you sent me to die and look who is dead now HAHA. Oh wait I am the one in charge now? Guess the joke is on me. :( I don't think I would have gone to see Gado after the fact and said...well what Rentarou said. Stop being so forgiving! That man really....used Rentarou and Rentarou still sees him as a hero or at least someone positive. Just no.

I WANT TO CUT THEM ALL!

Rentarou is leader for about 5 seconds before things get a little hairy. GO HIM! Turns out that people remember Hiruko. I know right? What are the chances that someone in the room way back in episode 3 (?) was still alive at this point to know to hate Hiruko?! Or...Hiruko and Kohina were hacking people up recently before the battle. Either way they don't evoke much of the warm fuzzy feelings. Then they open their mouths and it is super clear they are not amazing people. Of course it is hard to blame the other civil pairs for their hatred because Hiruko has done his best to halt winning the battle against the Gastrea. Running around and killing them. Rentarou tries to point out that they have bigger problems at the moment, that the Gastrea are coming to kill everyone in the Tokyo area. The only way to beat Hiruko would probably involve Rentarou being hurt or dying so they might as well suck it up and try to get along for 5 seconds.

That sounds like the opposite of being saved...

It then comes to Rentarou's attention that someone from his group is missing. I guess Rentarou has had a lot on his mind in the last 24 hours and those feel good moments by the fire escaped his brain. I love everyone indeed. But yes Shoma is missing his partner Midori. She is...well a goner. Got injured during battle and her infection rate is past that of something that can be fixed. Midori will turn into a Gastrea and attack everyone. This is why I think the Chosen Children are feared the most...but people are morons about it. Either they need to be taken out humanely (abortions) or watched/taken care of. Just leaving them out on the street with no supervision is how accidents will happen. Despite Hiruko being Hiruko I think he has a point...to take out Midori while she is still Midori. I am sure the girl doesn't want to hurt anyone and cause more suffering. Allow everyone to say goodbye to the girl and get some closure. Bury her after the fact, when the battle is over and the mourning can take place.

What does destruction smell like?

Instead Rentarou goes in alone and tells the girl she is going to be okay. That is what Rentarou does. He wants to make everything better. It is not really a bad quality I suppose. What are you supposed to do, tell the girl there is no hope and she is going to die? But I guess she knows the truth and they are both lying to make each other feel better. Enjoy their last moments? Unless Rentarou really thinks things are going to be okay because then he has the crazies. I wish that Midori had spent more time talking about something else....other than how people smelled. I would say it came out of nowhere but since she and Shoma sorta just showed up and we haven't gotten a chance to know them maybe this is a legit power. To me it just seemed...odd that Kisara smells like she could be evil and Rentarou is conflicted. Like oh snap we need to do some foreshadowing so make Midori say something cryptic. Should have spent more time mourning Midori.

:( Poor little kid....

OH WAIT WE DID. Rentarou and his special self allowed a hurt girl who is seconds away from turning into a giant monster to walk to the bathroom. 5 seconds later he realizes what the girl means to do and calls for a search party. To make the show extra sad it is Shoma and Rentarou who find a smiling/dead Midori from a self inflicted gunshot wound. For a moment I was mad at Shoma, that Rentarou was more upset over the girl's death than he was. But then I realizes that Shoma had had more time to deal with the information and that people grief in different ways. Rentarou does get upset over things all the time....in a way that I think is appropriate. Shoma sorta....stood there and talked in a very mature and matter of fact way. But then there were a few man tears and his voice changing a bit and all was okay with me liking Shoma again. Shoma wants to keep his eyes on what needs to be done. He is happy that Midori and him weren't lonely together but now he and Rentarou need to kill those responsible for this: The Gastrea.

Peace? Yeah it was totally peace before...

Rentarou decides that he needs to nip all this in-fighting and what not before it gets worse. Also Rentarou looks like the youngest person left alive that isn't a little girl and he is in charge. When you are in that position sometimes it is hard to get respect. Add in that everyone hates Hiruko and that some people don't like how Rentarou ranked up so fast and Rentarou had to stab a few people. I am not really buying his make them fear ME verses the Gastrea. I think I can fear both at the same time. Like great, we get to fight a battle we can't win for a guy I don't respect. Again Rentarou got lucky with Hiruko protecting him when the slight stabbings started but you know...he is the main character. He gets a lot of armor. And slack apparently. Rentarou is in charge folks. Also Shoma gets Gado's old partner after she has a fit that Rentarou sucks as leader but given that there is only one episode left I don't think that is really important.

Sounds easy enough....

Before Rentarou can throw away his nonexistent weight around some more Miori shows up with presents. Hope even. They need some hope up in this place. Mr. Level 5 will just keep on destroying pillars and what not, commanding the other Gastrea to do his bidding. They needed to find a way to defeat this thing. Miori and not anyone else older in the company who is actually in charge of things explains that they have FINALLY after all these years have created a weapon that could take out such a special Gastrea. Great says Rentarou. What do we have to do? Oh...we have to hurt the Level 5 enough to crack it's shell, throw the missile directly into it's body before it heals, and then run like hell to detonate the thing? And all of this has to be done by Rentarou and not by remote control or something because it has to be precise and Rentarou's Varanium arm is much more powerful than a Varanium missile? Oh yes folks. This plan sounds amazing.

We did good didn't we boss?! XD GO US!!!

The episode ends with everyone getting ready for the attack, one last stand before things get really bad. The area in question though brings up long forgotten memories in Enju. Or you know..her friends got blown into tiny bits two days ago and the girl should be barely functional at this point. Just bring on the tears. Rentarou manages to get her to focus on making the world exist so she can decide in the future whether or not to save it. Can't really decide to save it after it is gone you know. Poor Enju. :( But really poor sanity because Miori and her mighty company make mighty weapons but have to depend on the military to supply them with batteries and guess what! Someone hates Rentarou so bad they are willing to kill MILLIONS of people (well a lot anyway) just to make him...fail I suppose. Takuto is made of stupid and so are the people that work under him. Like herp derp, I hate Rentarou so bad I am going to make him look so stupid by tripping him in the hallway. Or pulling down his pants in front of the girl he likes. Or you know...throw the items needed to save an entire city INCLUDING MYSELF into a river to make him look stupid. You know..whatever makes more sense. As Rentarou will surely understand why he didn't get the batteries and what not. Is this nonreal life? Are people really this beyond stupid?....I hope Takuto dies in the last episode. Here's hoping...

Black Bullet episode 11: What does the word strategy mean?

So......I found out today you shouldn't give your pet cat Doritos. It might have been obvious to everyone else out there but yeah. Kira the picky cat only likes dry cat food. She will only lick wet food and tuna. So when she showed interested in my chips I was like sure have one. I think she liked them because they were crunchy but then POOF the eyes were watering and she ran away at the sight of the next chip. I think it is a good thing I don't have kids people.

By death you mean the Gastrea chasing me and trying to eat my soul?

When I am not feeding inappropriate food to animals I am finishing up almost long forgotten anime episodes. Up now is Black Bullet episode 11. Spoilers for everyone having a bad ideas all the time.

Wasn't that the baby in Rainbow Brite?

Episode Summary: Rentarou and his team watch as the battle between the official military and Gastrea take off. The rest of the pairs also watch from the sidelines, not allowed to leave the camp so to speak. It looks like the military has won and everyone starts to break out the party hats....until instantly the tide turns and pieces of tanks fly towards our mains. Yeah things look bad as hundreds of Gastrea run/whatever bugs do start crossing over the border. There are some GIANT flying bugs that are acting like Cloverfield with eggs on their stomachs. They go OVER the entire pair army and only Rentarou and friends see this. Not wanting to get attacked on BOTH sides Rentarou orders his troops back to head off this attack even though this will be viewed as treason. The second in command sees this and is ticked obviously. Rentarou and company use their amazing powers/abilities/good luck take out all these Gastrea. There might have been a chorus of Everything is Awesome sang. Then they walk on back to the actual battle area and the song stops out of respect. Mr. Second in Command is holding the arm of his lost Initiator girl. Apparently there is a Gastrea blasting off something called the Spear of Light and clearly everyone is boned. The earth opens and Mr. Second is eaten by a Gastrea. Before all is lost the Level 5 Gastrea appears. But instead of the battle continuing all the lower level Gastrea fall back and join Mr. Level 5. After the battle is over (paused) everyone has to work to clear bodies and mend the injured. Tamaki seems to think both sides lost the same amount when Rentarou points out that Gastrea increase their numbers by infection so in reality land they are screwed. Back at the make shift hospital Enju has been given a nurse hat since she is such a help. Kisara tells Rentarou that Enju really does brighten people's spirits so Rentarou is happy Enju seems happy. Sumire shows up despite having a golden ticket to the underground safe spots. She wants to be with the real people, those who are willing to fight than hide with the cowards. She seems to agree that Enju is doing okay despite having no more classmates but Rentarou shouldn't push the subject. Sumire tells Rentarou to not give up because clearly things will get better.

I see creepy people.

Rentarou, Kisara, and Enju then travel to some broke down looking mansion that Tina, Shoma, and the others found because that is where they are staying down until...you know the battle commences again. After everyone talks about how creepy it looks they sit down to have a nice meal together. Since the last woohoo meal of togetherness wasn't a troll for death. Kisara decides to ruin the moment by talking about the victims back at a place that has power and running water. She and Tina both think there is a Gastrea out there (a large out) shooting the spear of light which is actually mercury. Before Rentarou can do anything about it some officials connected to Commander Gado appear and want to talk to Rentarou. Gado takes a moment to talk about his legless self and how the Second in Command was really his son. Gado seems to show some emotion that the kid is dead but moves right along. Gado wants Rentarou's opinion on why they are losing the battle and the Gastrea still fell back. Rentarou starts talking about pheromones and that the big Gastrea was controlling the others. He wants to go after this giant Gastrea. Gado is like you would be right if....Mr. Level 5 Gastrea wasn't immortal. Rentarou is shocked and Gado goes on to explain Ms. Level 5 Gastrea, the one with the spear of light, is just as big of a threat and they are going to go after her instead of Mr. Level 5 who controls the pack. Their plan to destroy Ms. Level 5 is...to beat Rentarou and threaten to punish his friends because he ordered a “retreat” at the start of the battle. They will then blackmail Rentarou into going ALL ALONE into Gastrea territory to find Ms. Level 5. Rentarou is absolutely thrilled at this suicide mission. Rentarou returns back to their base to collect supplies but Kisara finds him and guesses what is up. She suggests running away but Rentarou has to do this because basically there is no where to run. 5 seconds into the Gastrea territory and Rentarou is hurt and chased by some wolf looking Gastrea. He falls into a river and finds himself with more trouble. Right as Rentarou gives up Kohina and Hiruko appear and take out all the Gastrea. Rentarou bandages himself up, Kohina sings the I want to cut up Enju song, and Hiruko wants to know what is going on. Rentarou explains his mission to destroy the Ms. Level 5 and Hiruko claims to have seen her during the battle. Rentarou forgets who he is talking to and asks why Hiruko didn't participate. This lead to a conversation about Hiruko wearing his mask, how Hiruko is using his power to do the things Rentarou wants to do (revenge for the Chosen Children) and that Rentarou will come to the dark side by the time it is over. The next morning Hiruko tells Rentarou where the Ms. Level 5 is and follows along with Kohina as Rentarou marches on. THE END!

Um why?

Oh lord. Just... I don't even know. I want to like this show. I really do. I mean I think I do like this show. Just that so many people in power, adults really, are doing so many stupid things I almost want the Gastrea to come and end it all so we can move on. At least in Resident Evil there are actual humans that are trying to survive while Umbrella is just...being stupid I guess. And in the Walking Dead there is hatred and distrust among EVERYONE not just tiny little girls who did nothing wrong. Just...this show. Humans clearly want to die.

Why do I have two screenies that look exactly the same? One I guess is the battle and the other is the military super losing?

Rentarou and Enju travel at the speed of super fast to get to camp grounds. Headquarters if you would. The pillar is broken into many pieces on the ground but no one at the Pair Camp seems dead. Maybe I was super paranoid in thinking the pillar fell on purpose to take out the Chosen Children Initiators? Maybe but who can put it past these morons? Lets just kill everyone. Anyway Rentarou and his group are watching the battle take place with the regular military. Perhaps they will have more luck with taking out the tiny Gastrea and not the huge one since the last Gastrea that was massive was taken out by Rentarou's amazing arms. But I guess that was because they were using normal bullets/missiles. Maybe if they weren't wasting all their ammo on bombing little tiny girls they would be more successful and less dead. Because yes folks...the main military lost. And lost spectacularly in a blaze of glory. Is anyone shocked? I didn't think so. Rentarou and company might have LOOKED shocked but they were more like wow that is a lot of dead people..

Are you telling me all those people are BLIND?!

In the long run it didn't matter that all the Initiator and Promoter pairs were so far away from the battle. Because the Gastrea decided to travel to them...and at a very fast speed I might add. I don't know if it would have mattered if everyone was there at the start of the battle or not. Maybe they would have had their asses beat faster. In any event...here it comes! The special and stupidity I mean. It was VERY clear that some giant Gastrea were flying over head. Maybe it wasn't as obvious that they were carrying little Gastrea eggs but Tamaki saw them. It wasn't a special Chosen Child or Rentarou's super eye moment. Tamaki, a normal human with normal eyes, saw this OBVIOUS attack. Like hello there tons of enemies going behind us to take us out from both sides. This was a moment that had to happen to advance the plot later with Rentarou being a deserter. Maybe next time they could make it less obvious so I won't be rolling my eyes into the back of my head. Make it believable.

Look at my awesome team woohoo!

Since that didn't happen Rentarou had to make the decision whether to follow the rules and let EVERYONE die or to order his team to take out the enemy while not staying in the place they were ordered to. HMMM I wonder what Rentarou did. I wish the battle was a bit more..intense on Rentarou's side. There were quite a few flying Gastrea with their little packages. I know all our mains are pretty strong but it came off way too easy. Like BAM look how awesome we are, lets get this done quickly. Everyone getting a chance to shine. I like that Shoma is physically touching the Gastrea. That doesn't sound dangerous at all.

The military lost.....I AM SHOCKED!!!

After Rentarou and company quickly handled the sneaky Gastrea they headed back to the main battle. Or should I say the main slaughter. The man who was leading this battle, Mr. Second in Command (because 1st in Command was somewhere safe?) saw Rentarou leave earlier. Perhaps he used his cellphone in battle like Rentarou likes to since this was reported to higher ups later. Because when Rentarou came back from the woods Mr. Second in Command was not in a talking mood. Or moving mood. When Rentarou and company took for the woods some Gastrea were shooting off some sort of light. Like in War of the Worlds. Instead of everyone turning instantly into ashes though they sorta got blown up. We need body parts everywhere you know. So Mr. Second is currently holding just the arm of his partner, the fight all out of him. They were never going to win were they? Before Rentarou can help Mr. Second regroup and help get everyone out of there Mr. Second is eaten by an underground Gastrea. That probably would have been a better way to do a sneak attack from the start but you know. Craziness.

The best way to win a war is to not kill your own troops. Just saying.

Just as the giant Gastrea appears and all seems lost....POOF. The battle is over. All the little Gastrea ( I say little and they are massive..) start to gather around Mr. Spit Gastrea and they retreat. Why the heck are they doing this?! They were winning. According to Rentarou and Tamaki's conversation mid body pic up the Gastrea had to win! Because the Gastrea are humans. Well used to be humans. As long as a bit of them is infected they will be turned into a Gastrea. So that Spear of Light might be sorta sucky unless there is some Gastrea DNA in it, in terms of making new Gastrea. But even then they were winning. Just take out the small remaining troops while increasing your numbers and make your way to the city. Unless...that wasn't the plan. HMMMM controlling Gastrea I see.

Rentarou has the you are a liar face on.

Because things can't be awful all the time in this show (even though they are) we have to see how Enju and Kisara are helping after the massive blow in battle. To show that there is something worth fighting for. That Enju has been through a lot and treated horribly by so many people but still has a gentle heart. She used to be wild and upset (understandably so) but with a bit of love look how she turned around. Her playing nurse and helping everyone in their time of need is what Rentarou is fighting for. Maybe the only thing he is fighting for at this point. Sumire shows up and confirms that Enju is doing okay. I thought for a moment that Rentarou was asking how Enju was doing physically but that would be silly. No no, when Enju turns into a Gastrea it will take Rentarou and everyone else by surprise. Yay for sadness!

Spreading out all your troops sounds like a good idea to me.

There is one more brief moment of happiness in this episode. Probably the last time everyone will be together before the big battle and everyone dies. I know I said that last time but this time I am sure it is the truth. I love how everyone has to fend for themselves in this anime. Like you are tasked with saving the entire area but we will give you the briefest of supplies and after tent city goes under....well you are on your own. Keep on fighting though. XD Yeah I will have fun finding my own shelter after the pillar got knocked down, with the Gastrea taking their time getting here and all. So yeah everyone else went looking for a place to stay. Since this area used to be lived in before the Gastrea event there are actual houses they can stay in but really...just really. Where is the organization? Oh they are all under ground hiding from the inevitable? I see.

5 seconds into this last meal Kisara and Tina need to bring up bad news. Mostly about this Spear of Light business. I like how things in anime get named so fast, don't you? XD I would have been like um this lazer beam came out of nowhere and was attacking people. But no, it's the Spear of Light with this show. Anyway since Kisara is 37 and not 17 and is a doctor she saw some people's wounds and automatically knew it was mercury. Duh. I would have guessed that too. That there is a giant Gastrea out there shaped like a thermometer attacking people. Tina backs up the fact that there is another huge Gastrea out there but she cannot confirm the thermometer shape. I might focus on the Gastrea that takes out pillars if I were them though.

What was the question again...?

Rentarou had about 3 seconds to think about this before he is called to a meeting with Gado. I am surprised they found him given that they looked like they were in the middle of nowhere but whatever. Rentarou is ranked 300 now. It is time for some respect. And since a lot of people are dead and gone maybe it is time for new plans. Of course I don't believe that nonsense. The meeting did go differently than I thought it was going to go. I thought the beating was going to happen first. Instead Rentarou got to talk. Exciting times I know. Rentarou was all well since I am a scientist I know that pheromones are controlling the other Gastrea so we should go after Mr. Level 5. I mean..I guess that is a nice guess but probably a little bit obvious that they were being controlled by something. Still Rentarou has ideas.

Of course it is. Why wouldn't it be?!

Maybe it was a test, to see if Rentarou was the real deal. Because Gado could have told the boy that Mr. Level 5 is impossible to kill. That his sword and nonexistent leg are proof of that. No no, we got to give Rentarou hope. The plan is to take out the mercury spewing Gastrea. It has a name too but I am too lazy to remember so many things. So it is called Ms. Level 5. It might have been a level 4. Since no one has seen it I guess it could be either way. Anyway Gado thinks since Mr. Level 5 can't be killed they need to take out the second biggest threat. Because.....why? I have no idea. What does it matter if they can't take out the one who can destroy pillars? Control the rest of the Gastrea? It is just....a matter of time. Lazers won't be the biggest damage. I don't know, Gado seems to think this is a great idea. It makes no sense but neither does his method of taking out this Gastrea. If Rentarou is so powerful (and liked by Seitenshi) why is everyone out to kill this boy? Oh you mean the society that is okay with letting actual little weapons (Chosen Children) be abused or killed instead of fighting against the Gastrea. Carry on then. Send Rentarou into Gastrea land to take out a high level one that everyone else got killed by. Makes perfect sense. Make sure to threaten the rest of his friends since he ran away AKA saved lives. Often when I think I have a great plan that will benefit mankind I set myself up for failure to ensure it doesn't occur.

I think he hasn't forgotten the wonderful present of someone's head you gave him?

After Kisara tried to stop Rentarou from his suicide mission Rentarou set out alone. I thought that maybe Kisara would have gone back and told everyone, to make them join up and help Rentarou later. That they would be the ones to discover the secret hidden from humans and be the last surviving pairs. But nope. That is not what happened at all folks. What did happen was Rentarou got attacked about 19 seconds into his journey and he was saved by Hiruko and Kohina. Oh you mean he isn't dead? He just sank to the bottom of the water where he was out of radar. I am shocked. So super shocked. How could this be happening? Also Kohina is amazing. Why is Rentarou getting all the praise when she is pretty amazing too?

Because we have cookies.

So Hiruko spends a little time with Rentarou. Rentarou obviously doesn't want to be near the man but doesn't have much of a choice given how dangerous it is. Hiruko isn't big on saving the human race and suspects that Rentarou will reach his breaking point soon. Personally I don't know why that point hasn't been taken yet but you know. If people like Rentarou aren't alive the girls would have it worse you know. Plus Hiruko and his mask are insane so trying to figure him out might not be the best use of Rentarou's time. But since Hiruko is...well out there in lala land he knows exactly where this mercury Gastrea is and is going to take Rentarou to it. X___X Err is this a good idea? Hiruko must be up to something. Maybe it has something to do with the files that Rentarou can't have access to? Maybe it is not a Gastrea at all but man made? Hiruko would want Rentarou to know that. So lead on crazy man. Surely it can't get any worse for Rentarou right?

Black Bullet episode 10

About that....

HURRY! Get one last post up and finished before the fotball matches start. Or soccer. Whatever. Even though most people call it fotball. We poor Americans. The husband has watched like 90 percent of the matches and I guess his addiction is infectious because I had no intent on watching the World Cup. At this point I might have fist pumped one of the goals. The shame...like sports. XD But yes one more post before I get sucked back in. Up now is Black Bullet episode 10. Spoilers for nothing having a point. It's all for nothing.

Can't help but notice these were not filled out...

Episode Summary: Due to the impending doom arriving at Tokyo in a few days....Kisara and Rentarou have decided to hold class anyway. The older man who watches the kids is grateful for the distraction. Rentarou says it is a distraction for them as well, that it helps. Rentarou and Kisara hand out My Future little worksheets. Tina and Enju both want to marry Rentarou while the other girls are unable to answer their sheets. Rentarou decides to use their nonexistent funds to take all the kids on a field trip. They get a few stares but Rentarou takes them to a memorial site, one for the second battle in the great Gastrea War. All the kids are familiar with some of the festivals that happen at that time. One is coming up in a few days and the girls ask Rentarou if they are going to live to see the festival. Rentarou explains that the government is going to protect them and Kisara and him are going to fight too. Twice as hard as he is their teacher. The little girls hold a meeting and decide they accept Rentarou as their teacher and that nearly everyone wants to marry him. YAY FOR GOOD TIMES! That night Rentarou is awake thinking about how the military is probably going to mess everything up against that massive Gastrea while the rest of his team sleeps. Well not Kisara as she calls him out of the tents. They walk to the crumbling pillar as that is the safest place to be in the world. Rentarou wonders why the Gastrea isn't running around and attacking other pillars to really take them all out. Kisara thinks the Gastrea is tired while Rentarou thinks the pillar is to blame. Kisara promises to look into it and suggests that she and Rentarou take a nap in the grass. Kisara is happy that she has a little family now but is worried it will all end one day. Actually in two days. Kisara and Rentarou have a moment, promising each other it will be okay.

Have a dose of cuteness before it all goes south.

The next day, while Rentarou is out and about he hears about how 1/3rd of the population has been selected to take shelter underground. People have reacted very negatively to this and blame Seitenshi and the Cursed Children. Obviously. At the train station Rentarou runs into the Cursed Child who was there last time. Only this time people are beating her up. Rentarou uses his authority and sends everyone on their way. The girl apologizes for begging again but she had to do it for her sister. They talk for a while and Rentarou makes her promise to go home. Rentarou returns home himself to the tents as Kisara returns with the girls. She apparently had no fun teaching the girls since they missed Rentarou. Tamaki appears with Kisara's paperwork on the pillar which she reads to herself. She quickly throws it in the fire and walks away pissed off. Rentarou fishes it out of the fire and learns that her family is the one who made the pillar under suspicious circumstances. Kisara returns late in the night and because of that Rentarou allows Tina and Kisara to arrive at school late. Yuzuki thinks going to school is dumb anyway but Enju is excited because she is going to show the rest of the girls her anime magical girl DVD. They happily walk to school AKA outside when they notice adults in the area. Oh and the giant crater where all the seats were. And blood. Rentarou slowly starts to realize a bomb was dropped on all his students. He is taken to an area that holds all of their little bodies. Rentarou starts to name their names but the authorizes say that these kids have no parents so names aren't necessary, just that Rentarou knows them is enough. Rentarou is clearly upset by that and lists their names anyway. Rentarou goes into the hallway because Enju was giving the guards a hard time. She seems to think she can show the girls the DVD tomorrow. Obviously she can't and she runs away only to find everyone's bodies. Rentarou goes to the roof to read all the girl's plans for the future. He allows them to blow away in the wind. Kisara calls, saying Tina is handling the news poorly. Rentarou starts to lose his mind, asking what Enju is risking her life for, what they are fighting for. Kisara tells Rentarou he is a civil servant and they must fight for justice. Maybe they will be able to change things for the better. Then....the pillar falls to the ground. Rentarou decides the wind is to blame for the early date. Rentarou runs downstairs to find a very upset Enju. He informs her of the situation and Enju wipes away her tears, ready to fight. THE END!

Enju asking to go to school tomorrow...just a lot of sadness.

I assumed that the battle between the super Gastrea and his army were going to take place and the blood was going to flow. Like woohoo we are a team...and now we are all dead. Well the blood did flow, just from a different source. Because we can't have a show about aliens/monsters coming to destroy humans without the humans looking as horrible as possible. I really do get that people have to function in the face of a crises. Especially if the crises doesn't happen to you. Like when Japan had their huge disasters three years ago many people were trying to show support and restraint while others suffered but then that creates a problem in the economy. Here in the United States there are so many school shootings and natural disasters if we stopped to mourn and be super respective no one would leave their houses ever. So yes I get that people need to get out there and live their lives. I really do.

However if giant monsters were going to come NO MATTER WHAT in three days and eat everyone I knew I probably wouldn't go to school. I probably wouldn't go teach school. I probably wouldn't go teach school to kids who probably aren't getting much out of this schooling since I am not a teacher and they have never been properly taught before. In short...what is the point?! I get that these girls need something to live for (well did but you know) but finding them shelter might be a better use of their time. Or finding adults that would be pairs with the girls so they would have food and shelter. Sure no one would really be like Rentarou or even Tamaki but that would probably be a better solution than teaching girls who have an expiration date anyway. At the very least Rentarou could have worked together with the old dude to find somewhere for these girls to hide. Not....give them worksheets asking about their future. X____X

Cherish this moment of happiness.

Since only Tina and Enju find joy in the future Rentarou and Kisara's dwindling wallet take a field trip to some of the monuments made after the war. Now I have several problems with this. None of which being Rentarou trying to cheer the girls up. Although since the girls all have Gastrea DNA or whatever in them that might have not been the best place to take them. Like yeah everyone is happy but you guys weeeee! No the problem I have is 1, the war is certainly not over. These things appeared a relatively short time ago in Earth's history and are still there, terrorizing everyone. And B...what a massive amount of space to waste on some statues! Land seems to be a problem in this new world and all that land is wasted on a bit of WOOHOO we did it? Yeah rolling my eyes that any of these people are still alive. Still the girls manage to find the good. Well sorta. You know after they talk about how they are all going to die and Rentarou reassured them they weren't. YAY FOR HUGS. Taking screenies of that obvious sadness was fun folks.

Yeah I am thinking this giant Gastrea can do what it wants and attack all the pillars.

Rentarou and Kisara are not going into this battle thinking it is going to be easy or great fun. If I were the government I would be dropping bombs....on the actual enemy but I guess we can't be having that. I am not sure why Kisara wanted to take Rentarou over to see the pillar. Especially since the wheels of questions were not spinning in her head. So I wonder why she made her way over there. I guess she was told to be the writers so Rentarou could ask some obvious questions. They bounced ideas off each other. Why would the Gastrea stop at just THIS pillar? Why not attack from all sides? Kisara might have been right, that it would take time to produce all that....stuff and it could make the creature tired. Rentarou decides he knows all because he saves all the womenz and the problem has to be this pillar itself. I am not sure why Rentarou assumes he is right. Of course he but he shouldn't know that. What with level 5 Gastrea being summoned at will I am sure this Gastrea could be herded to this area. Just that Rentarou doesn't have this information yet.

Kisara probably wasn't thinking all that hard about why the pillar was being destroyed. She was more wanting to spend time with Rentarou before the end. I mean the maybe end. Because obviously everyone is going to live and have a happily ever after. Given the track record of this show. How dare you start thinking Rentarou. Kisara promises to look into this matter because she obviously has the hook up. Um hi my Grandfather is important, give me all the information I want please? After that Kisara got things back on track with spending some quality time with Rentarou. If the battle isn't for a few days I am not sure why people couldn't find their own lodgings. Especially since they could come and go in the city as they pleased as there were no barriers or what not. But that would be asking too many questions. For now it is snuggles and talks of the future. How Kisara thinks that she, Enju, Tina, and Rentarou are a little family now and she wants it to stay that way. :( Aw isn't that romantic. Goodbye Tina and Enju. And probably Kisara. I am not seeing this happy family work out but I guess it is better to be optimistic than DOOM AND GLOOM. We are going to die Rentarou, have your way with me now. Wait that actually might be better...

The next day Rentarou decides that he wants to skip being a teacher to focus on something much more important. I really don't know what it was though. If one isn't going to teach a group of little girls in the face of danger I would think one would be getting the troops together and discussing battle strategies. Talking about strengths and weaknesses. Getting supplies together. Instead Rentarou decides to take a walk around town to see how awful things are. People have finally...slightly begun to panic. The ones who one the lottery have moved underground. 1 out of 3 citizens were picked. Meaning that 2/3rds of the population is left to die in case this amazing plan fails. Had this been the United States there would have been chaos in the streets and tons of looting. Here there are just very ticked off people who felt lied to. Down with Seitenshi and obviously Chosen Children because hello everything is their fault. I feel as if Rentarou took this walk just so he could come across the blind little Chosen Child again. Not heeding his word she went out begging again despite the DOOM that is coming and ain't no one going to help her now. Yep Rentarou went for a walk so this plot point could be covered. Why doesn't this little girl live with the other Chosen Children?

If they survive this I am assuming Kisara is going to kill her family members.

After Rentarou gets his fill of helping someone out he goes back to TentsRUs just in time to see Tina and Enju return from classes with Teacher Kisara. Which no one loves because hello Rentarou is the best person ever woohoo! Before we can have fun with that issue Tamaki has to ruin the moment and give Kisara the paperwork on the pillar of almost destroyedness. That was fast and dramatic. Kisara has grade a reading skills as she looks over the paper work and tosses it in the fire right away. Rentarou and his nosy self immediately investigates and it looks like Kisara's family made the pillar without any bidding or what not. HMMM why is that? Was it all planned to fail on purpose, to blame Cursed Children and overthrow the government by riding in as heroes? Yeah that is what it is looking like. A very complicated and dangerous plan to get back at the little girls who had nothing to do with this mess. WHY IS THE WORLD STILL ALIVE?!

Since Kisara was dealing with some more assholeness from her family Rentarou gave her the morning off in terms of teaching the kids. It would be just an Enju and Rentarou morning. Time for them to bond, before things got really bad. Enju was so sad about what happened at her old school that Rentarou was afraid that she was never going to be okay. Now things are okay. Enju even brought her favorite anime DVD to share with all her new friends. After this battle that they were going to win and not lose any lives on things would improve. Seitenshi would be famed a hero and get all the Chosen Children rights and safe living conditions. Kisara would get an even bigger family. Yay little girl harem. Everything will be okay.

Of course a bomb blew up all your little students. OF COURSE! Why are you surprised by this asshole move?

Or or...Rentarou could reach the “classroom” to find the entire area bombed and every single girl dead. Because this show isn't uplifting. There is no hope whatsoever. Instead of using resources to help with the battle someone decided to bomb innocent girls who probably could have been major assets in said war. You know, because it makes sense to be this awful. I mean at this point I am not sure how these girls make it out of the delivery room? Their parents don't want them and if they are going to be thrown away like trash to die why not do it in a more humanely way? Heck doesn't the Gastrea DNA show up beforehand, you know before birth? It's just so...dumb. I know it is supposed to be sad and devastating, especially when Rentarou is trying to list their names and the cops could care less. But it is just dumb. Over the top hatred and unnecessary evil. We get it. Humans suck. Barely anyone deserves to breath at this point. I just don't understand how society hasn't crumbled under its own stupidity yet. I guess with most of the homeless girls dead there will be less to blame on them now right? Gotta start taking responsibility for their own actions yes?

Enju took this news hard. I think the girls being dead hurt Rentarou but seeing Enju deny this event then sob over it put him over the edge. He has grown close to the girl, taken her from the streets and given her...well not hope for the future obviously but a place to call her own while she waits to die. He couldn't do that for the other girls and now Enju has no hope. No nothing. Her friends are dying left and right and society hates her. What is the point anymore? Add that in with all the little what will I do in the future papers the dead girls filled out and Rentarou was ready to break into the underground areas and take out those 1/3 safe population people. Well not really but I think he was on the verge of not fighting in the battle at all. Kisara had to talk him down this edge but really....it was a weak argument. I know there are jobs out there that make you help people you really hate but this is a lot and really who would blame Rentarou?

So maybe they weren't being flung quite that far...but you have to admit that would be an idea for some evil person.

Well the icing on the suck cake is at the end of the episode the pillar falls apart a day ahead of schedule. Not that it would really matter since the new pillar wasn't going to be made in time anyway but given what is going on I would assume this was also on purpose. Put the majority of the “dangerous” Chosen Children on a battle field near said pillar and POOF all the metal rains down on them and kills them too. Yeah that seems very, very deliberate and insane right? The Earth is going to be taken over by Gastrea in a week at this rate. Rentarou managed to listen to Kisara long enough to get Enju to wipe away her tears so they could dart off to battle but really..what is the point? Lets fight to protect all the people who killed your friends or could care less if you died. So much fun woohoo! The blood did flow...
