Arata Kangatari episode 12 FINAL EPISODE!

Hello there my lovely readers! Today is the first time in like three weeks I stayed home all day. Laundry, anime, house cleaning OH MY! When one gets up in the morning and not......noon...so much can happen. XO I feel super accomplished. Many episodes of anime to come. Well I was feeling more accomplished until I saw that two more episodes were put on the web. Are all my animes going to be released on Sundays!?

Oh yeah....forgot about you. XD

But for now we got to wrap up the Spring 2013 stuff. Arata Kangatari episode 12 FINAL EPISODE! Aren't you excited forever? No. Spoilers for....well Masato being Masato.

In case you forgot about the bullying.

Episode Summary: Everyone looks on in awe that Masato has reappeared. It is assumed they are functioning with only half of their IQ points during this time. While Masato and Hinohara exchange words ALL other characters stand there like fish with their mouths opened. Masato says some crap about how he wants to beat Hinohara and Hinohara wants to...well we shouldn't be fighting at all!! Both boys pull out their swords (guns!) and Hinohara takes the defense and run stance. Masato chases him all through the palace, destroying it along the way (Spoiler Alert! It doesn't matter!). No one else moves. Kotoha wants to rally the troops and help Hinohara. Kannagi lacks a weapon, Kanate isn't a Sho, and Yorunami repeats about 10 times they have to put their trust in Hinohara the Magic Sho. Above the fight in the airship Masato's maid worries for the boy as the ( 5) 6 Shinsho hopes that Masato will take out Hinohara and himself at the same time. The chase continues, with Masato continuing to think about that horrible race that was and how Hinohara was SO RUDE to him. Hinohara does a lot of running. I can't remember what happens next but eventually the two boys make it back in front of everyone to continue their fight. I might have fallen asleep I don't know. But Masato uses his god sword and its skull head to attack which makes everyone X___X as apparently it transformed. Hinohara just defends as his weapon isn't that special. Masato keeps talking nonsense, how he came to this world on purpose to defeat Hinohara, that Hinohara has no idea how poor Masato feels, and other general insanity. Kotoha starts to feel bad for Hinohara as he mentioned before that Masato bullied him. Everyone else just thinks Masato is insane. Which he is.

I will chop your head off!

While Hinohara has friendship power going for him it doesn't seem to be enough. Yorunami turns to his Minion Sho and says he will be submitting to Hinohara. All the Minion Sho are super upset. Yorunami says he believes in Hinohara and being one with the great Sho will make his mother happy. Everyone continues to be upset about this especially Hinohara as if he forgot this was his mission. Yorunami and Hinohara spend about 15 minutes talking about how we shouldn't be submitting at all!!!! Finally Hinohara agrees and Yorunami becomes sparkle dust all over the boy. Masato is like AHA look what you did, making Yorunami submit you evil person you. Clearly you want to be King and rule over others as you are the worst person ever. Hinohara and Masato then “fight” some more which eventually leads to the entire palace blowing up. No one dies and they watch as Hinohara becomes more and more confident with his powers. Masato keeps getting pissed off which makes Hinohara mad. When he has doubts he thinks/is told of the Princess' trust in him and what not. Suddenly Hinohara powers up his god sword and its all sparkly and such. Oh and maybe it grows wings. And makes land grow all around him. Everyone including the (5) 6 Shinsho are like XO as Masato is both in denial that Hinohara rocks while blaming Hinohara for everything ever. At one point in the fight Masato mentions Akachi and how he hopes he is watching the fight. This makes Kannagi :( as I guess he wanted Akachi's “Eye”. Nothing really matters as Hinohara's powers of trust blows Masato away. Masato vows to have a rematch against Hinohara. Ms. Maid has the (5) 6 Shinsho rescue Masato after his loss. After Masato goes on and on about how he hates Hinohara and wants to bathe in his blood Ms Maid says her line again about how much Masato must care for Hinohara. Hinohara is busy looking shocked at his power as Kotoha climbs up to hug him. When they climb down Hiruko and all the Minion Sho want to submit to Hinohara so they can be with Yorunami. After that the season ends with the speed of fast. Hinohara promises to change the world and save the Princess. The Princess is shown crying happy tears in her prison. Akachi is either having a nightmare about Emisu or the girl has been reborn. The other Shinsho are pissed about Yorunami did. Harunawa is in the real world cackling that the Shinsho 6 WILL have their dream realized. Hinohara talks to Arata and wishes him luck. All of this happens in 1 minutes and THE END!!!!

What were you expecting me to change?!

Well then...wasn't this a special ending to a special show? At least we know for sure this show is getting a second season. Or it was planning on it as I don't know how the sales did in Japan. Were they good? I know financially companies break up things into second seasons but this seems more like a long epic show that goes on and on. No need for false ending of pause points.

Apparently killed his mom, fed mom to the dog, ran the dog over with a stolen car, and blamed it all on Masato!

I think I have said this 19 million times but Masato is insane. It was just a race. I know, I know Masato had a rough home life and he had fake friends who only liked him for his money and once he dropped his ice cream cone on the sidewalk and didn't have enough money for another one. The fact that Hinohara was his real friend made the transgression matter more. Just like Ms Maid said, you have to really care about a person if they can hurt you deep (or at least that is what I think she means). But hot damn this insanity. He let you win a race to make you feel better. Take a day, be pissed, and MOVE ON! Don't lose your shit and declare this was destiny. People in this country are ALL orphans and their husbands are dead plus their crops are dying AND are prostitutes. Don't you feel....petty? Or are you that insane?

You are just so complicated. SO COMPLICATED!

When Masato says things like “you don't even understand”...you're right. Crazy person. Did you tell Hinohara about how he hurt your feelings? Probably not. Sounds like you were upset that your friend “looked down” on you and quit the track team a minute later. 5 minutes after that the bullying started. But I guess Masato is pissed that Hinohara didn't fight back, that the friendship wasn't worth saving due to the lack of fighting, and that is why the bullying continued. Because hello I think Hinohara has paid enough. Just Masato is 15 kinds of insane, twisting things inside his head. Does it make sense that Hinohara magically flew into this world to become King and further insult you? No? So sit down crazy.

I guess...Hinohara could asked what he did wrong. I mean at this point I cut off the relationship and burn all memories of said person. I mean....your feelings can still be hurt but this is a toxic person and Hinohara should tell them to GTFO. However Hinohara is not me so maybe he should have asked what was wrong. Or at the very least scream back, I never did anything to you bite me asshole. I would say Hinohara needs to fight back but at this point his god sword is mainly a defensive weapon. But he has Tsutsuga inside there. Maybe that only works inside buildings. Anywho.....don't take this shit anymore Hinohara. Especially when Masato is spewing his hatred and lies in front of others. Explain yourself!

Or try to help. Or maybe not be hostages. Yeah lets go with that.

I know there was very little that could have been done in terms of other people helping. Especially Kotoha who was busy suggesting someone else go help. East to volunteer others yes? But what could half of them do? Yorunami....i guess he could have had the will to fight again, to support Hinohara. Like we are in this together and then submit after the fact. Kannagi has no sword at the moment. Kanate has a weapon for fighting...well nonSho people and animals. The Minion Shos could have helped but without the word from Yorunami they were going to stay on the down low. Also...they probably would have not been much help. All together maybe they could have landed one sneak blow but Masato is way too powerful for his own good. All of that being said....the facial expressions were amusing to me. Just so much derp.

Rest in peace palace.

I think we need a moment of silence for the palace. I mean...that thing went through a lot before it was ultimately destroyed. I guess in the end no one is left to LIVE there (unless Hinohara unlocks the super happy ending) so does it really matter? Just it was so magical and lovely and Masato and his super powered self just acted like it was made of cardboard. Maybe the next Shinsho will schedule their battles outside. You know, if they win it would be nice to have a home to...well go home to.

Oh wait I guess that is a good idea too.

So...there was mean words and fighting and mom Hinohara is touching me. The only way this battle was going to be won was if Hinohara got stronger. Because Masato landed in this world and was magically able to wield this sword because he has such hatred in his heart. And Hinohara has constant doubt all the time despite being powerful (HMMMM Accel World) so he can't reach his full potential alone yet. No no we need to power up Hinohara another way. Now only if they could think of something that would give Hinohara different, offensive powers. Something that Hinohara was planning on doing all along.

Don't do it boss!

OH WAIT! Yorunami. You fought Hinohara, lost, and learned Mommy loved him all along. Clearly it is time to submit. Because not hating someone is the same as giving up your life as a human being DUH!!!! Why are people so willing to give away their lives. Which is what it is despite what others say. Even if Hinohara can later talk to their spirits. Okay so Yorunami became a better person. FOR FIVE SECONDS!!! What was the point then? Who wants to know their opponents better before you kill them? It just sets up a dangerous situation, when there can only be one winner Katniss and Rue. Why you might develop feelings for that person...

Don't do it Yorunami!

Oh wait that is Hinohara! All day long. Day and night. For the rest of his life. He bonds to people faster than innocent puppies. Why does Hinohara want to know these people better if there can only be one King. You know, now Masato and Kannagi have to “die” too. It might better to take out Masato now so you can just rush through everyone else and help the Princess like you wanted. But Hinohara is a “good” person. He doesn't want anyone to suffer. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Does he seriously not know what this quest is about? Did they really spend about 3490384 hours talking about this submitting thing before doing it? Hinohara get your head in the game. This is not a place for people like you obviously.

Way to see the point.

After Hinohara makes Yorunami submit things go much better for the soft hearted boy. Not the palace obviously. But Hinohara's god sword gets all pretty and the entire...well area becomes one huge sparkle fest. I think it looks better and was more earned that Masato's skull thing. Masato....it is hard to read the crazy. Is he happy that the fight got more interesting or is he super pissed? Like curses why do these things keep happening for Hinohara, why can't anyone support me!!!!!!! Um maybe because you are crazy?

Super powers!

After Yorunami submitted the battle ended rather fast. Not only because Hinohara gained his power/offensive attack but now he has so many people counting on him and he doesn't want to let down their trust. And maybe his god sword senses his....well real feelings. Which could be why Masato is doing so well in terms of fighting since his god sword is beyond demonized or it was also evil. In any event Hinohara wins this battle leaving Masato to be picked up by the 5 Shinsho and his lovely maid who thinks these people are best friends. OH OKAY!

I wonder how Arata would have done with this submitting stuff.....

Then the entire series is wrapped up at the speed of fast. Blink and you might have missed it! I like how the Shinsho 6 (or 5...) are all about getting rid of Masato. Guess their master plan doesn't involve becoming King as there are 5 of them. Hinohara gets some hugs for Kotoha. And the other Shinsho are pissed off because of poor Yorunami submitting to Hinohara they are out for blood. Even though eventually they were going to have to do the same thing.

I am sure the city can take care of itself.

Really I need to have a talk with Hiruko. The other Minion Sho....meh. I can understand their thinking. But Hiruko? He went and told Hinohara to save his Yorunami. Did he think that entailed just....fighting it out and talking afterwords? That the city would be saved and all would be well? UM WHERE WAS THE THINKING?! Because from where I am standing both Hiruko and Yorunami are BOTH gone. So who is going to run the city that Hiruko wanted to save so badly? I mean...I guess... Hiruko could have wanted to save Yorunami soul, like in the Christian sense, so he wouldn't go to hell. But for helping the people here and now Hiruko actions made no sense.

Err...and then make him submit? So just do it now and save a lot of people the grief.

In the end Hinohara vows to change the world....but that means everyone is going to have to submit to him. I am still thinking that he thinks he can bring everyone back at the end of this nonsense. I don't know why he thinks that. The sword is the sword of creation, not reanimation. XD And what about all the lives of nonSho people? I don't know. Hinohara seems way to keen on protecting everyone and getting to know them. I guess though he is banking on them living on in him, with their hopes and dreams. Seems like a heavy burden to bear. But if it helps Hinohara take out insane Masato I am all for it. Guess see you next season? Probably Fall? Hopefully with less sketchy artwork within the same episode?

Arata Kangatari episode 11

Hello there my lovely readers. It is I the late one. Last week when I worked...at work there were lots of SLOW times. We had two people each shift and things got a bit boring. Now that there are times when there is only one person a shift (IE me) it is like the customers are coming out of the wood works. Like oh Tenchi is trying to figure out her blogging schedule now, lets make sure she has no idea what is going on. Maybe since it was payday these past few days might have been super busy and maybe it will taper off until next pay day. I mean...it's not like I can complain about free time at work since I should be working. Work comes first but then when there is down time I will take advantage of the boring by blogging. Maybe even catching up.

Well well well at least I have both of my eyes.

For now here is an episode of Arata Kangatari. Episode 12 to be exact. Spoilers for....well people getting more and more special as the series goes on.

That's a nice palace....

Episode Summary: The gang has made it to Yorunami's palace. After commenting that his is better Kannagi...watches as Kanate goes to patrol the area. Kannagi does later join the boy leaving Kotoha and Hinohara alone. Hinohara is probably thinking of the battle ahead but Kotoha is like no worries, I am sure you have someone you love back home and entire life...I will just watch over you giggle giggle. She runs off and Hinohara realizes that he hasn't thought about returning home, that promising the Princess he would do her mission was the most important thing in life. Before he can get too lost in thought Kotoha screams. Hinohara runs to see what is wrong and sees that Kotoha has been trapped in a water bubble by Yorunami. Hinohara takes off towards the palace at the speed of fast, leaving Kannagi and Kanate bringing up the rear. Kanate informs Kannagi that there was no guards what so ever at palace de Yorunami. They arrive to see Kotoha trapped in some complicated sphere thing. Yorunami appears and says that Kotoha will be freed once one of them submits. Kannagi and Kanate are forced to watch this fight as they are nobodies. Yorunami calls forth his mom so she can watch this battle. All of Yorunami's Shos are present and try to aid Hinohara which was probably a bad idea. While there is fighting Yorunami thinks of how he needs to show his mother a perfect battle. In the past she has been super harsh on him and tells him to always try harder. This makes the fight much more intense and suddenly....Yorunami can magically use time...magic and water magic. He traps Hinohara in a time bubble and starts to sink him to the bottom of the lake? At that moment..well okay earlier in the show we saw Akachi chillin and being updated on what was happening with Hinohara and company. He then thinks back to Masato asking for help and poking out his damn eye. After Masato stops screaming Akachi says that Masato has to lose everything before he can gain power. Since Masato wants to stab Hinohara into tiny pieces he agrees to this insanity. So Akachi does the logical thing and takes one of his eyes and puts it in Masato skull. That way they can be connected FUNS!

Mom isn't the one who I trust...it's Kotoha. My bright light who is in love with someone else.

On his ship Masato was thinking about this and his new eye and how he can kill Hinohara now. Only when he gets to the battle Hinohara is sinking to the bottom of the lake. Masato gets super pissed he can't kill Hinohara so Yorunami starts to sink Masato too. While under water Yorunami starts to slowly shrink Hinohara, bringing up painful memories from his past. In these memories his mother tries to comfort him and encourages him to take the easy way out. Slowly Yorunami tries to get Mom to tell Hinohara to say the submit speech. But no matter how far back Yorunami goes Hinohara does not want to say those words. Eventually he decides to not listen to his mom and stand up for himself. Or you know...Kotoha calls out to him despite drowning herself and makes Hinohara powered up enough to release himself and her .Yorunami gets pissed that Hinohara would go against said mother and POOF Hinohara is released. Everyone is impressed as Yorunami readies to attack again. Nothing comes out and it is said that Yorunami's sword god no longer wants to fight. Yorunami done loses his damn mind and starts crying that he is not perfect and runs to his mother. Only it turns out she DIED like a long time ago and what Yorunami was talking to was just her clothes. Even though no one really cares Yorunami explains that his whole life he tried to get his mother to be proud of him. She was just super strict and a hater, wanting him to be perfect. When she died Yorunami thought maybe if he became King of the Sho he could finally make her proud. Clearly nonsense. Kannagi points out that there is something of his mother left, some sorta of box. Yorunami is like no mom gave me this box before she died I can't open it. Knowing the mother very well Hinohara is like open the box! So Yorunami does. Turns out that it is the bracelet he made for his mother many years ago and she treated like trash. An old dude comes forward and says that the mother really loved her son and was worried for his future so she pushed him super hard, even if that made him hate her. WOE IS HER! Yorunami now sees the light and that he has been super bad and can everyone forgive him if he makes cookies for everyone. It really got that touching. But before the baking can begin Masato returns and is like HOW DARE YOU FORGET ME DIE! THE END!!!!!!!

Oh...so it all makes sense. You really are crazy.

My brain has totally been melted by....all of this. Or drown. Maybe given the nature of this episode I should say drown. In any event....is this “real” anime life? Like really people.

Maybe he has a tight budget and can't afford guards.

First off....I love how no one in anime lately wants to guard their shit. Like for real. I know that Yorunami was expecting a battle and likes perfection but still. It is better to not underestimate your opponent. Things can still happen. So this whole no one is here and everyone can enter is super lame. What if the other Shinsho took advantage of this situation and walked in too? Lame.

Um...did that fly out of your brain Hinohara? Forget about your home?

Kotoha and Hinohara had to have a talk while Kanate was scouting the unguarded palace. As Kannagi is along for the free beer or something. But Kotoha has decided that one day Hinohara will return to his world. Something that Hinohara has forgotten about? Like seriously I know he has a tough school life back at home but he has some family members that really love him. I guess when you are running around trying to protect yourself from magical people you can forget about your normal life. Still...Kotoha is like I will protect you until you go back home and that got Hinohara back on the OH NO something else to worry about track.

Can you stay out of trouble for one second?!?!?!

Okay maybe Kotoha didn't say protect. Hopefully she didn't say protect. The words were watch over, I remember. However Kotoha needs to stop watching The Walking Dead. Apparently her favorite character is Carl. JUST STAY PUT!!!! I mean...they were surrounded by water and Yorunami is the Sho of water it seems. Maybe she would have gotten kidnapped no matter what but at least it would be Hinohara's fault then. STAY PUT! Dear lord!

Thanks for being obvious.

Yorunami was ready to fight. None of this cat and mouse thing. I like that Kannagi and Kanate just sat there and watched, like they were listening to Yorunami instead of being unable to fight at all. Yorunami's Sho were cheering on Hinohara. I think they are lucky they didn't get stabbed in the face or something. They can hope and wish things go their way but keep your mouths shut if you want to live! Are they all dumb?

What does this have to do with water?

I really wasn't a fan of Yorunami having some magical new power. Even if this show is about people who have magical powers. But Yorunami has been shown having water powers this entire time. Adding in time at the last hour seems like a cop out if you know what I mean. Unless I am totally wrong and water and time go together. It just seems lame to add on another power to Yorunami without any explanation. Like he made a Sho submit early on and now has his powers. Maybe we are supposed to assume that but it wasn't made super clear in the anime.

Masato....what the hell. Like that should just be the entire paragraph about him for the rest of the series. What more can I say about this douchebag. Akachi was being rather special too. I mean...really folks! Is this X/1999 up in this anime? Not only are we poking out eyeballs we are taking them out of our own skulls and placing them back in and they function. Magical. SUPER MAGICAL! Maybe the magical part is that Masato seems to be okay with all of this nonsense. I would think poking out my damn eye would be more of a reason to hate someone than a race my friend let me win. But what do I know. Akachi sees Masato for who he is...insane. Masato and his insane self are super sad that they arrive at the battle and Hinohara is already underwater with the time spell. This kid just can't catch a break.

What you talkin bout mom?

The time spell thing was interesting. Given the incantation for the submitting thing it is hard to see how Hinohara's mom could have convinced Hinohara what needed to be done. All of the things Yorunami was showing Hinohara were sad. I can see the boy giving up on life. But those things had nothing to do with being a Sho. Perhaps it would have been better had Yorunami shown Hinohara visions of the other Sho growing up and having problems. Since Hinohara likes to make other people's problems his own.

Oh I lost. Guess Hinohara is the best person ever.

This is not to be because Yorunami and his problem are mother focused. Thus the visions Hinohara got were all mommy related. This is where the episode to a sky dive into what the hell town. Yorunami....to say he has mommy issues would be an understatement. Norman Bates has some competition here. This mom person that Yorunami has been talking to....dead. Super dead. For a while now according to some people. The reason why Yorunami wants to be King....to make mommy finally proud of him. Because you know how the dead can give their approval on things. And despite thinking this craziness for so long he puts it all away once Hinohara opens his mouth. How can you be so far gone in the crazy that you can see the light after 5 minutes? Maybe that is why the whole story seems insane.

Mom of the year award.

I mean....old dude steps up and tells Yorunami that his entire life is a lie. Like mommy dearest really just wanted the best for Yorunami. Which meant treating him like shit, taking one for the team. What a giving mother, telling her son he sucked and he needed to try harder. All the while crying in the hallway that she has to be so harsh to mold her son into a person who could take care of himself. This is me...rolling my eyes all the way out of my head. Maybe Masato can have that eye too. Maybe instead of being an asshole to your son you could mold him into being a strong man by other means. Because...you know...it could have turn him into a crazy person....OH WAIT!

What about OUR bond?!

After Yorunami learns this truth he doesn't lose his mind like I would have if I learned my life was a lie. Instead he is like...how funny life is. He does question Hinohara a bit about his actions but not enough for me. There should have been more but this show needs to go at the speed of fast. Like I accept you Hinohara...please kill me. I mean make me submit....eyeroll. But the good times are not to last as Masato has emerged from the water...pissed off again. Like seriously. Hinohara mentions the word bind and Masato loses his damn mind. So that means the last episode will be about Masato crying about bonds and Hinohara trying to keep his cool together. Yorunami will probably submit so the two will be equal power wise and then....until next season woohoo!!!!

Arata Kangatari episode 10

Hello there my lovely readers. For the past...I don't know 2 weeks it has rained every single day here in sunny Florida. This is actually a good thing since we usually are on fire watch and fireworks tend to get cancelled if things are way too draw. This 4th of July we will obviously be wet enough for fireworks but will it be rained out instead? Mean weather, how dare you do this!!!!

Someone is in danger?! Hurry to help Hinohara!

Putting aside the fact that there is millions of drops o rain...time for anime!!! Up now is Arata Kangatari episode 10. Spoilers for Hinohara seeing his problems in everyone and things not being perfect.

Oh yeah I forgot about that....

Episode Summary: The gang is walking around until they meet a fork in the road. Kannagi says that this way to Yorunami's palace. Everyone starts marching but Hinohara. He wants to learn about said Shinsho before he....”kills” them. Kotoha thinks this is the best idea ever. Kanate agrees but later comments to Kannagi that Kotoha and Hinohara seem close now. They walk to the nearest city under Yorunami which turns out to be the massive Suzuhura. They are told it costs money to get into the city AND to leave. The gang doesn't have enough so the guard suggests quarry work for the men and textile work for Kotoha. Before anything is decided Suehiro comes up and tells the guard he will handle it. Suehiro seems to be either in charge of the city or super important. Suehiro takes them around the city, with all the beauty and lights and what not. There are tons of places to shop and Kotoha is taken in from some items. Suehiro tells her to shop later as he shows them where they will work. Kotoha is off with the woman to wash clothes while the men hammer away at rocks. Kannagi is content doing the least amount of work as possible while Kanate is ordered to work harder. Hinohara sees a really young kid working way too hard and worries. Hinohara takes a break with Kotoha where they talk about how he is not her Arata and how it is strange for her. Later that night Hinohara purchases the hairclips Kotoha saw. Suehiro sees Hinohara and they walk around the situation. Suehiro talks about how this is the best city in their world. Hinohara seems more concerned about what kind of person Yorunami is. Suehiro makes Yorunami sound like a person who wants perfection in everything and everyone. Hinohara doesn't seem to pick up on Suehiro's sadness.

Oh such a sneaky person....

The next day the boys are working at the quarry when the little kid, Ruka, has an issue with his cart. Well it breaks. It has been done by some adult men who have nothing better to do in their life than torture some kid. Ruka is still blamed by the supervisor and is struck in the face. Ruka is also fired which enrages the boys (well maybe not Kannagi) and Kanate goes to attack when Suehiro appears. He dresses down the supervisor but that is about it. The men take Ruka back to his shack. The others are shocked to see how awful things are behind the big, beautiful buildings. Ruka says that people like him can't afford to leave and that he wishes he could just disappear. Hinohara obviously thinks about how this situation reminds him of his sad life and is...well sad. Kannagi sheds some insight on how this town is really run when he sees Suehiro spying on the conversation. Kannagi confronts Suehiro who knows that Kannagi is...Kannagi. The headband apparently was not the best disguise ever. They talk about Hinohara being the Super Shinsho and Kannagi says not to underestimate Hinohara. All 4 members of the ground come together and decide they will help Ruka get out of the city. Apparently that means breaking him out of the city and not paying for his passage. Suehiro stops them out of the gate and reveals that his real name is Hiruko. XO That would be Yorunami's Sho! Everyone is XO as Hiruko sorta attacks them...with flaming money. All Hinohara does is block it and suddenly Hiruko thinks that Hinohara is good enough to save Yorunami. Well that and all the conversation spying he did earlier. See once upon a time Yorunami saved Hiruko, sorta when no one else saw Hiruko as a person. Now Hiruko wants the city back to its former glory even if that means going against Yorunami. Hinohara is touched and accepts this mission. Too bad Yorunami was listening to the whole conversation. Elsewhere one of the Shinsho 6 shows Masato a clip of Masato killing a whole bunch of people. Masato is like take me to him! Masato makes it to Akachi and wants to form an alliance so he can crush Hinohara into the tiny bits he obviously deserves to be smushed into. Akachi is like no thanks loser. Masato starts to beg for his help so Akachi is like...well first we must get rid of your handicap, that glint of friendship in your eye. So Akachi stabs him in the eye. THE END!

Oh snap? A Hinohara/Kotoha baby?

This would ALMOST be a feel good, wee adventures are fun show...if there wasn't a pile of dead bodies rotting in the corner. The big cherry on top would obviously be the dead pregnant woman. But from how everyone is acting all the time...this is all in the past. It is all good, this diluted show.

Maybe I am just bitter because I will never be good at walking around without a map. Heck I probably would get lost with a map in an unfamiliar area. But Kannagi is like oh this is where we are. HOW DO YOU KNOW!? I am supposed to learn how to navigate by the stars in case of a zombie apocalypse. If I don't apparently I am being left behind. So maybe I am bitter. Helps set the tone for the episode. Look guys, we are here. This random place in the middle of nowhere told me so.

I am not sure I understand Hinohara. Then again I might just miss the point of him entirely. But....he does realize that everyone he meets and is a Sho (or Shinsho) will have to become one with his sword. You know...cease to be their own individual human being. So I am not seeing the point in knowing your enemy. Unless it is to learn their weakness and cut them into tiny Masasto pieces late in the night. I think that Hinohara thinks it will set his heart at ease but they don't even know what will happen once Hinohara becomes King. Who knows if everyone can come back to life? These people will still cease to exist. I don't think submitting and being alive in a sword is amazing.

However Kannagi is like well...maybe this will be helpful battle wise and goes along with it. Kanate goes along with it because Kotoha did. Not sure why he thinks that Hinohara and Hinohara are closer. They had like one day of sadness before Kotoha went back to normal, perhaps being a little freer in how she expresses herself. Not a completely different person. Kanate is just jealous. A loyal friend but jealous.

Maybe this makes more sense than I thought...

I think the way the city works is a bit special. I can see maybe having to pay to leave (you know, to trap people inside) but if you have to work once you get inside why does it matter if you have the cash to get in? It's not like you are getting anything for free once you get inside. Maybe this is actually fair. That they only want people who are serious about working and bettering this town and this down payment keeps people motivated. Like we got to save up to move to this awesome place. Maybe this is like a tax that keeps things looking great. I don't know but our travelers seem super poor.

Suehiro is confusing. Really this entire episode was lacking in many details to me and I haven't read the manga. I can just tell things were...well not well explained. Suehiro seemed like he didn't want to show our gang around town. Like he is tired of keeping up this facade. However....as the episode went on...I really didn't see what was wrong with the city. No really I didn't. All cities have their ugly points and beautiful ones. Okay maybe I did see what was wrong with the cities. I guess if people didn't want to be there anymore or couldn't work/find a job they could leave. However....there are always poor parts of cities. Maybe because it was panned as a perfect city that was bothering people? Maybe it was different when it first was constructed. But since I didn't see that backstory what I see now looks typical of...well most of these cities in Yuu Watase's universe. A lot of poor people or orphaned people. But in this city there seemed to be some places to work, not well the crops failed everyone dies.

I don't know. I just think that Suehiro should have done a better job explaining how things used to be. Or maybe I suck and am jaded. Yes that little kid should have been taken care of instead of thrown to the wolves. Maybe some of the entry/exit taxes should go to helping those elderly/injured citizens who have put in their years of working. There was always sadness in his voice but he was quick to get onto the person who hit the kid, that seems fair. Like he was trying to keep things on the straight and narrow. This just seemed rushed. I needed to see more of the seedy parts of this city to understand Suehiro's sadness.

The boys have just a few comedy moments before things got sad and orphany again. I love how lazy Kannagi was being. He has been shown in the past to be a hard worker but when it comes down to it he probably thinks he is better than everyone else. Maybe next time he could work a bit better on his disguise as you know...a headband is not the only thing different about him. That people in this town might have been to the capital or from his own country and maybe...just maybe would recognize him. Special. Kanate is constantly being picked on. That is just his role. The relief of the show. Like Kannagi is doing basically nothing and I am getting yelled at? I will work twice as hard to show them. YEAH that's it!!!!

After 5 seconds of that fun it was back to everyone in Yuu Watase's universe having the worse lives ever. Meet Ruka!!! The sad little orphan that can't. :( I mean it really is awful that everyone quit his family's business after one parent died. Like lets work together and just make this work. It kinda doesn't make sense either. If the dad died the mother could have worked to run the business, hired someone to take her husband's face, and not much would change. But everyone left and Ruka was not looked after by an important person in his parent's business. Woe is him. Woe is everyone in this sad universe, having no parents and living in sad conditions. But really Hinohara needs to stop making everything about him! Hot damn!

Did Kannagi seriously not know who this dude was?

The group decides to talk loud and not check their surroundings when they realize this place is not all sparkles and rainbows. I like how Hinohara only wants to save the one person with problems instead of everyone after acknowledging this is probably a wide spread problem. I thought that they were going to work Ruka's way out of the city, I really did. Like come on guys, lets push ourselves so we can get this kid out of the city so he can go live...somewhere else...where he will have a hard time getting a job because he is a kid woohoo!!!

So Hinohara can make it perfect again?

Suehiro being Hiruko, Yorunami's Sho is not a shocker since we viewers saw him creepin around. I think his power being money was more surprising. Like if this dude doesn't want to see this city suffer give out some money to the poor ones. Like not TONS of money to get used again and feel sad. Just like you know what that person is working hard and is still not making ends meet, have some flaming cash. I thought the exchange between Hiruko and Hinohara is odd. Hiruko wants the city to be perfect again and Yorunami to be the person who saved him many years ago. How the hell is that going to happen if Hinohara makes Yorunami submit? Yay my master's heart was healed right before he was absorbed! That will surely make the town better. Not understanding at all.

Um...I totally do not want to be on that dude's side in a battle with ONE WINNER!

Nor am I understanding what went down with Akachi and Masato. First off...Masato sucks. He will never not suck. I don't care if his parents never gave him hugs and blah blah. What Hinohara did hurt his heart but was not the source of his anger. Now he is this insane person who wants REVENGE on someone trying to help him. Watching Akachi kill all those people and what not should have scared Masato, not sent the man running into his arms. Like really...really..

A bit on the whiny side...

Then after 5 seconds Akachi decides to help Masato out. Why the hell was he even entertaining this boy? Attack him and get it over with. Instead the two talk for about 5 seconds where Masato just repeats he wants help, revenge, and generally acts pathetic. Not sure why Akachi agreed to take ANY of that on. Masato didn't prove himself or anything! This scene just didn't make any sense!!!!! Well maybe help is too strong of a word. Poking out Masato's eye out might not seem like help to use but maybe it works in this universe. Just...this was an odd scene and made little to no sense to me. Akachi helping someone? He has no problem stabbing his friend in the back and now he will help Masato get his revenge? Oh lord how many more people are going to hold onto grudges during this show? Guess we will find out soon!

Arata Kangatari episode 9

Well then. Who knew the control button on my computer is so important when regards to blogging. I didn't. But apparently it is and without that button it takes 50 times longer to do anything. Thankfully the husband was able to fix it after work today. ALL IS WELL!

Yes yes, keep up now.

Let's get right to where I left off yesterday. Arata Kangatari episode 9 time! Spoilers for Masato being super fast. He should have stayed on that track team!

...Are you are who you say you are?

Episode Summary: Kotoha, Hinohara, and Kanate are walking around like this is the best journey ever with Kannagi the pissed off following them. Without warning Masato appears on a nearby cliff. The others recognize him as being one of the Shinsho 6 (and 12) while Hinohara is @___@ how can this be?! Everyone wants to know why Hinohara is beyond upset when Masato and Hinohara start bantering back and forth. Hinohara wants to know why Masato is there while Masato accuses Hinohara of coming here and apparently having a blast trying to become King. Masato calls him a loser who looks down on people. All the while that image of Masato and Hinohara running that race plays over and over and OVER again. Masato shows off his amazing god sword which Kannagi recognizes. Hinohara uses his to protect everyone. As Masato goes on and on without ever explaining why he is mad at Hinohara....well Hinohara gets pissed. Obviously. Like he should. And apparently that is super bad business. Hinohara starts to glow black as well as his god sword. Everyone recognizes this as Hinohara demonizing himself and said god sword. When Hinohara attacks he nearly kills Masato as the weapon's power has changed. Kanate tries to talk Hinohara down but it is Kotoha who hugs Hinohara and reminds him of...trust I am sure. He calms down and looks guilty for what he has done. Masato is like no attack me some more but the rest of the Shinsho 6 tell Masato to retreat. Masato then wakes up later in the Shinsho 6's flying ship where he meets his new...maid and has anger issues over Hinohara again. Ms Handmaid giggles and is like you must really like Hinohara if you talk about him all the time. Surely she will be dead soon.

Please feel free to take all your anger out on me!

In his sadness Hinohara drops his god sword so Kannagi grabs it and runs off into the night. Kanate runs after him while Kotoha takes Hinohara into some random shelter she finds, probably after all the rain. As they sit there Kotoha questions how Hinohara knows Masato and what this other world talk is about, like she has NEVER HEARD IT BEFORE! So Hinohara explains it LIKE SHE HAS NEVER HEARD IT BEFORE! Kotoha then realizes that Hinohara is not her Arata and gets upset. Hinohara decides to go outside in the rain and feel sorry for himself. He is just like Masato and Akachi, having a dark side and giving in to it. Woe is him. Kanate has caught up to Kannagi and is going to club him over the head like a caveman when Kannagi turns around and decides to go back on his own. They find Hinohara under a tree being depressed and Kannagi returns the sword, saying the burden behind it is too much to bare. He basically man handles Hinohara into taking responsibility and the sword back. Hinohara seems to sorta recover and the next day Kanate and Hinohara resume sparing. Kannagi gets tired of watching and decides to take over as teacher. He explains that Masato must have taken over the spot of one of the other Shinsho Six. Kannagi then throws the god sword off the cliff, saying that Hinohara isn't trying hard enough since he is scared of demonizing again. He tells Hinohara to get the sword back before sunset or....or else. So Hinohara goes and looks for said sword. A wolf has found it first and this leads to a dramatic chase and Hinohara thinking of himself and Masato. Hinohara returns before nightfall and better. He knows that he can win back Masato's.....trust. Everyone is like you can do it Hinohara!!! THE END!

....Sudden change of heart...

Well that was 19 kinds of special. Do I have enough time in one post to discuss it all? I guess I will find out. Also while I realize the manga is much more detailed I am going to still pose questions that are not answered by the anime. But I really do like all the insight from manga readers on what SHOULD be going on. Honestly this is going to have to be a 2 season (at least) anime right? I am not sure why so much is being left out! We anime only viewers shouldn't be left in the dark, for the manga readers to clue us in on. The creators should do a better job of explaining things.

Um....how did you get here so fast?

Like finding Masato. I am quite certain there was a bit more of an explanation in the manga. Like Masato talking more with the 6 Shinsho, getting on the airship, and finding the group. I mean...maybe people have been talking and know what happened with Kannagi and all his underlings. And maybe these airships are super fast and can track people and it makes sense that Masato found them in under 5 seconds of being in this new world. For me it was a...what the hell moment? Just lala OH LOOK MASATO! I think there should have been more leading up to this moment.

I guess the director told Kannagi to step up his game.

I like how Kannagi is just around for the free snacks apparently. Like oh you know this guy. Hmmm I will just sit back and watch. It is almost like Kannagi is really used to the high life (despite...you know having some humble moments when he lost his country) and he looks out of place. Now I know him and Kanate really couldn't have done anything as they don't have god swords but it was sorta odd to watch. I guess Kannagi was just sizing up the situation as Kotoha and Kanate were trying to be...the morale support?

I WANT TO KILL HIM!!!!

This fight between Hinohara and Masato is getting old. Like super old. It seems as if the following happened. Hinohara and Masato met due to being on the track team. Masato had a rough home life and threw himself into the spot. Hinohara was naturally good at running. Masato finds happiness in doing his best against Hinohara, even when he loses. But Hinohara decides he feels bad that Masato barely made it in the finals and slows down so Masato can look better? CUE THE INSANITY! RAGE AGAINST THE FURNITURE!

Must fight the demons inside me! RUN!

I get it. Or at least I think I get it. I am not a boy so I don't think I can ever get it. Sorta like how men can never understand half of the things women get. Because if my friend slowed down I might have been a little upset. Like hey we need to try our best, don't pity me!!! Then she would have cried that she just loves me so much she just wants me to win. I would have cried and said I want to win on my own power and watching you win makes me so happy. We would have hugged and cried until a nearby boy would have accused us of having PMS in which we would turn around and punch him, then going out for ice cream. All over in an afternoon.

This is pretty dramatic....

But this is obviously not the pattern boys follow. Because in life girls are usually more complicated but not in this instance. Man pride. It is quite deadly. That is the only thing that can explain away this much insanity. And the fact is...it doesn't seem that Masato and Hinohara were friends for that long. If they met in junior high and Masato quit the team his second year well...yeah. But I guess if Masato was having such a horrible home life and seeing Hinohara run with a passion was his only joy in life....no I still can't understand the insanity. It is too much to watch. Man pride. So much of it it is overwhelming.

Mess him up!!!

I might understand Hinohara though. He was probably brought up in that loving house and join a team/club he was good at. Maybe didn't have any close friends but enough to be happy. Then Masato is like lets make friendship bracelets and stay up all night talking about cute boys. So when Masato was having it hard at home Hinohara thought he was being nice and let Masato win. Or maybe...Hinohara unconsciously slowed down and has no idea why the hell Masato is acting like this. That is probably the most plausible explanation. So for the next 2.5 years (0r longer) Hinohara is like why is this person who was my friend torturing me? Either was he being nice consciously or unconsciously and doesn't deserve this treatment.

So Sho's can't be angry?!

I am not too happy about the demonization of Hinohara. I don't think it is very far. Remind me of another anime where nature and expected feelings equals disaster for the characters. I think all that Hinohara has gone through he deserves to be this angry. I mean....Masato is way too over the top to be believable. But Hinohara....yeah he deserves to be pissed. This situation is already pretty awful without Masato coming and spewing his hatred. So Hinohara got a little worked up. So what? That doesn't mean Hinohara deserves the stigma of being “evil”. Because he isn't.

...Are you saying this is 1st grade and Masato actually likes Hinohara so he throws mud on him?

So now the Hinohara took a step on the wild side we won't hear the end of it. It will be like the word trust all over again. He thinks he is just like Akachi and Masato. Which he isn't. Everyone gets mad! Hell I am probably more pissed than Hinohara. Have I actually done all the hateful things in my head? No of course not. People are allowed to vent and such. Owning a god sword is way too complicated. Watching Hinohara go woe is me for weeks on end won't be pretty to watch.

Then why did you have him attack now?!

I think Masato still could have taken Hinohara. I am not sure what was up with the retreated. He was winning. Hinohara had his moment of RARW but felt bad about his actions and backed off. He could have still battled. Instead the Shinsho 6 (of 12) are like no lets take a magic carpet ride in our flying ship. There Masato can brood more about his situation in life and maybe meet a romantic interest. But instead of looking at the hot girl it is more of the same stuff. Awful home life, Hinohara letting him win. It is hard to be Masato. Rest in peace furniture.

Now twist the mustache!

It was almost comical how fast Kannagi took the sword once Hinohara dropped it. Like haha and a little sand cloud follows him as he runs off. I have to hand it to Kanate, he was like get your ass back here and took off. But it really didn't matter as Kannagi decided to return on his own. I really wasn't buying any of those excuses either. I mean...I don't see how stealing someone else's god sword would help. Won't it only recognize one person? So Akachi just has Kannagi's sword so he won't use it against him right? So Kannagi's plan was doomed from the start. Maybe Kannagi realizes that and was just trying to save face.

You lied to me!

Kotoha asking the truth about Hinohara was just odd. Like really odd. Didn't Hinohara insist from the start he was not HER Arata and only Granny was listening. Now Hinohara is acting like he kept some horrible secret from her and lead the girl on. Kotoha just wasn't listening!!!! Now Hinohara is going to be WOE IS ME again!!! And Kotoha is all wait a minute which Arata do I really love. Really it seems much to do about nothing. Listen with your ears next Kotoha. Hinohara was trying to tell you from the start.

Such close bros. Until Kannagi starts bullying him.

I am not sure when Kannagi and Hinohara became bros. It is like Kannagi watched Mulan or something during that walk in the woods and decided that he needed to make a man out of Hinohara. It sorta came out of nowhere. Like okay I stole your sword so I am going to train you. By throwing your sword off a cliff and hoping you don't die getting it and no one steals it in the meantime as we are in someone else's country. Kannagi is strange.

How many more times are we going to have to see this? :(

Hinohara and his magically ability to scale cliffs found his god sword. From a wolf. While running and thinking of Masato. Of course Masato was thinking a lot about him too, what with his new maid saying well you really must like Hinohara if you want to rip his guts out and wear fashionable necklaces made from his ears. In the end Hinohara is more determined to get Masato back and Masato is more determined to kill Hinohara. Ah...this anime is crazy.
