Duffy the Disney Bear Adventures: World Cup Final!

Hello there people who like the internet, cute bears, and slightly blurry pictures. It is I Duffy the Disney Bear. How is everyone's day? I hope it was full of sugar, fun, and not working. Scruffy's mom didn't have a great day at work. Something about not being tipped on three tables. :*( Doesn't sound like fun to me.

Let me get my area all set up for this EXCITING match.

Here at our house we all got ready to watch the finals of the World Cup match. The World Cup is when lots of countries get together and play soccer for an entire month. Well here where I live it is called soccer but most people on the TV call it soccer. Mom and dad got very into the events and I usually watched from my usual sport on the couch when they cheered or booed people on. But today I decided since it was the last day to watch from my special Cars seat. I can pretend I am in the stadium with all the people crying and wearing outfits too!

D14 and his sorcerer hat had decided since this is the 2014 World Cup he will watch this final match with me.

Err this is a bit of a tight fit.

What if we moved it to the other way? Then we would both have more space D14 suggests.

That is much better. Now we have more space. Somehow I think I always make this mistake with my suitcase/special occasion chair.

Buddy Duffy decided to come by and sell snacks like people do at baseball games. But we are underage bears and we own no hot dogs in this house. So Code Red and poptarts will have to do.

Err what are you doing D14? I know that they haven't made any goals yet but....

This is the final game of the World Cup this year and both teams are very good. So it is well into the game and there haven't been any goals yet. D14 is fading fast.

And I have lost him. Apparently he is helping Mom and trying to get her shiny Eevees.

After a while Dad ordered pizza. I think at the 88:00 minute mark. The guy got to our house really fast. But when the pizza came we were in overtime and I couldn't pull myself away from the screen. What if something happened?! D14 had no problem eating.

MOG THEY MADE A GOAL!!!

They did about 48 instant replays of the goal since it was so late in the game and really the only possible chance to make a goal. D14 was finally happy.

Germany is so happy that they won. Mom was a bit MEH because she wanted Argentina to win but for mean reasons I think. At least that is what she told Dad. Dad was going for Germany because of something that happened with the Netherlands. I don't know, it got kinda complicated.

After everyone in the stands cried it was time to hand out awards. I didn't know you could be the most important player on the losing team.

Time for the winners to go on stage!

The German players all got an individual medals and then they get to share this cool golden statue. And then it was all over. Mom and Dad spent a lot of time watching almost every single game that came on during the World Cup. I didn't even know mom liked sports. X__X Guess I learned something new today. Also learned that D14 gets bored rather easily....

New Anime Series! Tokyo Ghoul episode 1

BEHOLD I AM SPOILERY!

Post number for the day GO ME! I get so distracted when I am on the internets it takes forever to get anything done. Like I am typing away then poof someone posts something on Facebook and I have to read it which leads to another article which leads to a word I don't know so I have to learn about that word then tell my friend about this crazy word and oh look 2 hours have past and I haven't typed a sentence. X___X Oh the joys of being inside of my head. But here it is, the post I started I believe on Sunday? Oh yes indeed. It might have been Monday though. One of them was Monday anyway. So up now is Tokyo Ghoul episode 1. Spoilers for the synopsis on this show being a borderline lie.

Me and Kaneki will be great friends.

Episode Summary: Late at night blood hits an aquarium. A lot of blood. Maybe a lot of blood but since everything is censored who knows. A woman who appears to be naked and acting crazy has killed some people and is eating them. Helicopters and what appear to be cops know the situation and are on the way. Some Jason Voorhees looking reject walks in and the woman is immediately pissed he is ruining her good time. He says that orders have come from higher up to take her in alive but they didn't specify how many pieces. He gets increasingly crazy and these...red wing/claw things come from his back. He gets rather close to the woman but does something and breaks the aquarium, escaping from the area. The next day the news is reporting this ghoul attack and how one ghoul should be able to last on one human for an entire month so this shouldn't be happening. This is background noise to a pair of friends, Hide and Kaneki talk about where to take girls on dates. Kaneki thinks going to the book store or maybe a burger place is perfect. Hide thinks these ideas are dumb but has no opinions of his own. Hide wonders who the cute girl is that Kaneki likes and guess it is their waitress Toka. He embarrasses both Kaneki and Toka but it's not her. The girl in question, a very beautiful girl named Rize walks in and Hide is like...yeah good luck with that bud and leaves. Kaneki notices that Rize is reading the same book as him and after some blushes and glances the two talk. Kaneki calls Hide later to tell him the good news as Hide waits as the police clean up the street/area from another Ghoul attack. The officers talk about how these creatures are worse than animals. Soon Kaneki takes Rize on another date where they talk about their favorite author and what not. Kaneki is a dumb boy and mentions that Rize isn't eating. She gets embarrassed and mentions a diet. When the date ends Rize claims she is scared because her area is near the latest Ghoul attack and she is scared. Of course Rize offers to walk her home which she is grateful. As they walk Toka from the cafe sees them and is all HMMM. They reach Rize's house and Kaneki wants to see her again since they have so much in common. Rize thinks it over and decides she is interested in Kaneki too. She then leads down and tears a huge chunk of flesh from Kaneki's shoulder. She starts to transform into a scary ghoul, the one from earlier as Kaneki tries to run away freaked out. He ends up getting flung into a construction site by her red thingy things on her back. Kaneki ends up getting stabbed in his side and falls to the ground. As Rize goes to eat the rest of the boy someone cuts various construction equipment in the area, causing beams to fall on and kill Rize.

:( Hide trying to reach his sad friend.

Kaneki enters a dream like state where doctors rush to save his life and Rize seemingly...floats into Kaneki as the hospital gives the boy HER organs? He wakes up with one CRAZY eye but it quickly goes back to normal. He seems to have problems eating and hides when the nurse comes in to inform him Hide has been by several times to visit. When the doctor comes in Kaneki says his sense of taste has been very off. The doctor has a moment but tells Kaneki that everything will be fine. Kaneki is eventually released and goes home to see that Hide has left him a bunch of food and a letter of good wishes. Sad Kaneki decides to watch a TV program about Ghouls. It has been learned that Ghouls cannot eat normal human food as it tastes disgusting to them. Kaneki freaks out and spends the next hour and a half of my life eating all the food Hide left him and throwing it up in the toilet. He becomes more and more upset, especially when his favorite treat is nasty. He cries on the floor while elsewhere Hide complains to a college friend that Kaneki has been treating him poorly lately. The friend thinks Hide should drop Kaneki. Hide leaves Kaneki a message that his favorite writer is doing a signing near their area. By the time Kaneki works up enough energy to leave the house the signing is over. When he walks home he starts to act weird, that all the people he sees look tasty. He loses his mind and runs home only to see his crazy eye and Rize in the mirror. Upset Kaneki tries to injury himself with a knife as Ghouls can't be hurt in that manner...and the knife breaks. Kaneki zombies himself outside thinking of flesh when he snaps himself out of it. He then smells something tasty, like his deceased mother's food. He runs off happily that he found something he can finally eat...when he finds a Ghoul eating a human being. Kaneki looks devastated and the confused Ghoul offers Kaneki a hand. Suddenly another Ghoul, the Hide friend from earlier, kicks the Ghoul dead for stealing his hunting grounds. He goes to kill Kaneki as well when Toka (the girl from the cafe) appears and calls this dude Nishiki. Toka says the organization SHE works for distributes the hunting grounds, especially the ones that Rize stole. They fight briefly but Toka is stronger. Nishiki runs away like a crazy freak. Toka sees Kaneki having issues and wonders why he is alive since he was with Rize and what is up with his one crazy eye. Kaneki keeps reaching for the flesh but tries to deny himself, saying he is human and not a Ghoul. He doesn't want this kind of life. Toka seems to lose patience and thrusts human flesh into his mouth. THE END!

Oh I see. Waring Ghouls. Yay for organizations and "good" bad guys.

And once again that didn't go the way I was expecting it to. I should just copy and paste that onto my posts every other episode since I say that so often. XD But yeah folks. I thought that this was going to go a different direction. Like you know...fighting the Ghouls. Not becoming one. This is anime and Japan though and not America and cartoons so what was I thinking?

Welcome to our show!

Unlike NotBlood-C the action started right away in this show. Like look at the dead face plastered on the aquarium. I would say poor traumatized but since they all died anyway...I guess it doesn't matter. But yes. We got blood and gore right away. Or at least I think we did because you know censors. I don't think it helped that the person doing the eating and killing was naked. I think she was anyway. Anyway she was eating people because she was a GHOUL and another Ghoul like person rolled up and said orders were orders, time to take you in. So this show is going to be humans v Ghouls v Other Ghouls. Given how little I saw the police doing I am thinking the humans aren't doing much fighting and it is really the other Ghouls trying to perceive their lifestyle and existence by keeping the others in line. Like stop eating ALL THE PEOPLES and behave. Everyone might be creepy though if they have crazy eyes, weird masks, and whatever those blood things coming out of their backs were. The battle resulted in some dead humans, a runaway naked lady, and a police force who actually tells the public the truth.

Actually no, I like the truth.

Oh yes folks. The police are telling the truth and keeping the citizens informed. I know shocking. None of this lying and covering up the horrible truth. Oh an Earthquake hit the aquarium. Um a train derailed. Err this man fell? Nope it is the truth 24/7 up in this reality. I wonder if that is strategy? I mean...there doesn't seem to be a mass manic. I would be panicking in case anyone was wondering. Some monster like people who can only live on our flesh AND appear to be normal looking humans? Hiding forever thanks. But while these attacks are well known and some...aspects of the ghouls are being researched what can be done to prevent them? Why do they exist? Do I need to get some garlic up in here? No one else seems worried, just another part of life. Like when the trains are delayed because someone decided to jump in front of them. But it is out there folks.

Don't leave us Hide!

Frankly people don't seem to be worried about it as everyone is going about their normal day, talking to friends and eating at cafes. Two college age boys are doing just that, with Hide teasing his book loving friend Kaneki a bit about where he thinks dates should take place. I think people should go on dates where they want to go, not where people normally go. XD Although a library might be hard because of the no talking thing. But that is a movie too so what the heck. Anyway this scene was set to show how Kaneki was a bit timid but he and Hide have a great friendship. Hide teases a bit, even with the waitress who turns out to be important, really important later. Overall books people. Kaneki likes books.

We are perfect. Lets go pick out matching china and baby car seats.

I thought a bit of anime magic came Kaneki's way when the girl he liked actually took interest in him. He had a great starting point too, that they were reading the same book. A nice way to start talking to someone, not a creepy pick up line that men often use. And this is anime. We have normal looking guys pick up hotties all the time. Mainly because every girl is a hottie but whatever. I thought...this could work. Clearly not for long but given the synopsis I figured this Rize was super important. That she was a Ghoul hunter and she saw potential in Kaneki with his...mad reading skills. Maybe he could smell them out or something. Because this simply isn't an anime where everyone is happy and the main boy gets the cute girl for no reason.

Oh.......this is....err...an innocent comment that is not so innocent.

Things started to turn obviously south right off the bat though. The whole her not eating at the cafe...a really bad sign. I like how she tried to save it with her diet lie but yeah folks...obvious lie was obvious. I didn't even know about the Ghouls not being able to eat human food yet but I had a sinking feeling that this was not going to end well for Kaneki. :( Her fakeness when talking about how she was scared of the Ghouls and she needed him to walk her home was craziness. What was Kaneki going to protect her from, a three year old Ghoul? He isn't exactly bodyguard material. And since no one else was looking scared it lead me to believe she was putting on a story. Kaneki was too distracted by the idea that a girl liked him to see these signs and allowed himself to be lead to a place with no real apartment in sight. He was talking about going on another date and she was licking her lips. I might have laughed at all the things they had in common. They like one author and are the same age, book the church now folks!

Yeah I don't know what

But there will be no church folks. No white wedding, no Billy Idol cover song sung awkwardly while guests look patiently at their watches. Because Rize decides that instead of a kiss goodnight taking a chunk out of Kaneki would be a better idea. Surprise she is the naked Ghoul from the beginning of the episode. One body a month isn't enough for her as she starts to transform into...well something. I won't call them vampires because they seem to eat everything. But they aren't zombies because they are still away of what they are doing and aren't rotting into pieces. And I am not sure what the red wings or whatever that comes out of their backs are. So they are...Ghouls. Amazing.

But...I wanted to eat tasty Kaneki. :(

Kaneki doesn't think they are amazing as he runs through his life and ends up in the middle of a construction site with no one to save him. I think that Rize had the idea of playing with her food and taking her time but Kaneki was almost down for the count when she stabbed him in his sides. Have I been trolled? Is Kaneki not the main character? Is it really Hide? Before Kaneki can get eaten though someone drops a whole lot of steel bars and crane crap on....Rize. I shall applaud the person who was able to do that without hitting Kaneki who was right there. I shall not applaud the person who decided the best way to save Kaneki's life was to implant Rize's organs into Kaneki. I mean...is there not a way to tell the real humans from the Ghouls. I could understand that at death Rize's eyes and blood...wings/arms could go back into her body but since there are facts and knowledge about Ghouls I would just assume they could tell. And even if they couldn't I am not sure how legal it is to take the organs from one victim of an “accident” and put them into another victim of the same accident. Aren't their waiting lists and such in Japan? Gotta check to make sure they are viable and a match? But then we wouldn't have a show would we?

Oh okay. You can go home now, all better.

The minute Kaneki wakes up we know something is wrong. Well even before that we know as Rize was all floating around in his dreams, as if she will always be in the back of his conscious. But Kaneki wakes up and one of his eyes are...well gross. It quickly goes back to normal but Kaneki is finding it hard to eat food. I would be like yeah my stomach was pierced, not in the mood for food. But then Kaneki told his doctor the concern about food tasting gross and I was like HMMMM this is suspicious. I mean for the doctor, not Kaneki. Kaneki isn't in the right frame of mind to be thinking about things aren't adding up. The doctor used random organs from a victim and Kaneki had a bite injury on his shoulder. Now that Kaneki is saying food tastes weird and that seems to be a main Ghoul point and the doctor still hasn't put the pieces together. He does pause, then is like oh you will be fine. It leads me to believe that the doctor made Kaneki into a Ghoul on purpose. Because he showed concern and let Kaneki go on his way. What to infect people or something? Sounds...dangerous.

THIS IS NEWS TO ME! Quick make me feel worse.

Things go from bad to worse in the life of Kaneki. I sorta feel bad for Hide as he seems like a pretty good friend. A typical friend who is a boy. I am sure I would have fought a little harder to see my friend but boys are all about giving each other space and crap. Still he went several times to the hospital, brought by snacks, and called Kaneki. He tried and I hope that nothing bad happens to Hide. I type that and the kid is going to die. :( I wanted to be mad at Kaneki for not wanting his friend around but I am sure this was all traumatizing to him. The date being a Ghoul and the lingering thought that something was not right. I mean he didn't eat for a long time folks..surely he knew something was happening. So...yeah their friendship is probably going to suffer. Poor Hide.

The aftermath of sad. :(

I find it a bit hard to believe that Kaneki didn't know about the food thing before that night. Are Ghouls a new thing in this world and information is now coming out about them? The way it was presented though on just regular cable news makes me think it was just regurgitated information. Oh speaking of regurgitation...after Kaneki watches this program and learns that Ghouls cannot eat human food and it tastes like crap to them...the pieces were getting put together in his head. And the conclusion was....is he a Ghoul? In a realistic moment of disgusting liquids pouring from Kaneki's face, out of control actions, and....the noises from the bathroom Kaneki lost his mind in an effort to prove to himself he was not a Ghoul. After everything in the house was eaten and thrown up he tearfully ate the hamburger his friend brought over especially and cried when it too tasted like crap. Kaneki is a Ghoul. :( The moment was sad and gross and my tummy hurt but I realize that is how it should have gone down, with Kaneki in deep denial and losing his mind. Just I didn't need to hear it.

Kaneki doesn't leave his house as he is in a bad place. Obviously. Hide talks to a friend later about how Kaneki has been treating him to witch the friend is like drop him. But Kaneki has been through something rough and Hide is his bro. He isn't going to drop him. Instead he is going to call the friend and tell him about his favorite author being in town. Because they are bros. :( Such a friendship. Kaneki does leave the house but I guess he has his times mixed up because it is late in the day and the book signing is over. Instead Kaneki walks around and has a Resident Evil moment where he stands in the cross walk and looks all crazy. That is what he looks like to other people anyway. In his head he is saying girl, flesh, boy, flesh, woman, flesh. A creepy little song of a new Ghoul who is hungry. Kaneki manages to not eat anyone but freaks himself all the way home to see....his creepy eye and Rize in the mirror. Do you believe now you are a Ghoul? Poor little Kaneki.

Maybe I should watch the news since Kaneki isn't giving me any information.

Instead of researching what a Ghoul is to help Tenchi Kaneki smells something. Something tasty. Finally he can eat real food and prove to himself he is not a Ghoul. I think it is not important to note that Kaneki is an orphan now which makes everything super sad. No family for him. But Kaneki takes off running at the smell of food, glorious food. Everything will be okay. We will just run around like a madman and crash into some trash can and find...a dead body and a Ghoul eating said dead body. Yeah things are not going to be okay. Kaneki might have been in denial before that moment but now there is no point. He is a Ghoul and dead people smell tasty.

He was going to share with you but....

I was going to talk about how the random Ghoul eating the human seemed...well nice. He was going to share with Kaneki, something he didn't have to do. But then he immediately was killed by another Ghoul. And look, it is Hide's friend Nishiki. Hide is really going to die isn't he? :( Anyway so Nishiki is pissed because this is HIS area and he thinks that Kaneki had something to do with the dead body. He gives some off colored example that I guess could apply to the situation but since Kaneki and his one crazy were in the corner crying I would assume he had nothing to do with it. Nishiki wasn't feeling so nice and decided to kill the boy too. Not before Nishiki had to make the comment that Kaneki was gross for only having one creepy eye. I mean...I guess if you were only half of one thing and half of another it would be gross to either side right? I mean as a species, not a race of course. Anyway it is Kaneki killing time.

Hold on, let me drop my school books off and I will come back to save you.

Only he is saved again. And probably by the same person although I am sure him being saved last time was an accident as killing Rize was more important. Enter Toka the girl from the cafe. She had to put up with flirting from Hide and saw Kaneki get taken away by Rize. But now she is all Ghouly and apparently bad ass. This Nishiki guy is not happy to see Toka at all. Turns out her cafe is all Ghoul and I guess they are in charge of handing out feeding areas to low ranking Ghouls and Rize was a menace to their organization. Nishiki is not on team Toka and make it known with....I guess you could call it a fight. Toka seems to be way stronger but Nishiki doesn't seem stupid. I don't think he would have entered a fight if he thought he was going to die. But in any event Toka and her....vein like eyes won the fight and Nishiki is sent away. So that is where we get the humans verses Ghoul verses other Ghouls.

You will live and be happy about it!

Kaneki sat on the ground and watched this all in horror. Like you are all monsters and being a Ghoul is horrible. Toka is like...okay so you want a hand? And tries to give him the dead guy's hand. You have to feel bad for Kaneki at this point. He doesn't want to be a Ghoul, he doesn't want to eat another human being, and thinks once he takes that bite he will lose his humanity. Despite the pain Kaneki fought threw it and denied the “food” being given to him. A win for Kaneki. That win lasted about 5 seconds because Toka seems interested in Kaneki's half Ghoulness. So interested she thrusts some flesh into Kaneki's mouth. Lovely folks. And that is why this show is different than what I was expecting. I thought they were going to hunt Ghouls. Now Rize is...well sorta dead and Kaneki IS a Ghoul and Toka is a good Ghoul? Yeah fun times for everyone in Japan. I am sure episode 2 will explain what a Ghoul is and the organization that Toka works for. Until then...we wait. Wait for Kaneki to lose his mind more.

New Anime Series: DRAMAtical Murder episode 1

Thankfully for anime blogging today soccer/fotbal was not an amazing spectacle of fail/awesomeness that it was yesterday. Which is good because a lot of countries take their sport so seriously they RIOT after games. Like hello burning buses because you lost a match during a sporting event? Just no. It's just a game people, calm it down. None of that happened today which is a good thing for my ability to get things done around the house. No goals, overtime, then penalty kicks. Oh and it rained because the tears of a nation washed over them. Craziness.

But yes anime got done today folks! Plus I downloaded the last of my maybe animes for this season so go me!!! So....sorta productive. Up now is DRAMAtical Murder episode 1. Spoilers for the main character keeping all his clothes on...for now.

That looks a little odd side by side like that....

Episode Summary: All the main characters are introduced in dramatic fashion, doing random things with ominous words being spoken and shown on the screen. There seems to be a fancy dome like town while an older, falling apart town is directly located outside of the dome. In the falling apart section of town our main character Aoba is working at a junk shop. He seems rather...angry when people call to place orders and focus on his interesting voice? He has a pet dog that is actually a talking robot thing that isn't really explained. The robot dog informs Aoba he has an email but before Aoba can look it over three random kids come in and start terrorizing him which seems to be a normal occurrence. The email is responded to automatically and before Aoba can take care of it the owner of the business walks in and asks the young man to deliver a package to Delivery Works. Aoba takes off leaving the bratty kids behind. The little doggie robot (Ren) gives Aoba the fastest route to take and onward the fashion victim man walks, encountering some sort of floating news screen that takes about recent gang activity, that people can't leave the island without permission, and that these robot things are called Allmates. While walking Aoba runs into an old friend of his that is a fashion victim too. His name is Koujaku and he needs to walk around with a sword and his bird Allmate. They talk about how Aoba is going to Delivery Works which seems important and that Aoba needs a haircut. He seems a bit off about that and ends up leaving when two girls come to hang all over Koujaku and glare at Aoba for being cuter than them. As Aoba walks away he thinks about when he was younger and teased for his hair. Koujaku thought he was sticking up for a scared little girl but stuck around when he learned Aoba was a boy. It was sorta adorable. Also apparently it hurts when Aoba's hair gets touched? Aoba goes to this Delivery Work place where an older woman and her lovely dog flirt with Ren and Aoba.

Gangs for everyone!

After the job the pair attempt to walk home but are approached by members of a gang (Bug Bomb). Well they say Bug Bomb from Ribstiez but I thought Ribstiez was it's own separate gang. I don't know. Either way Aoba is not impressed and says he doesn't belong to a gang. Before anything happens a man walks up and basically punches two of the thugs out and tells the others Aoba is a bad ass. The remaining conscious members realize this is Mizuki from the Dry Juice gang and they run away. Mizuki suggests that Aoba join his “team” but Aoba wants no drama. Mizuki likes being part of a team but thinks things are weird lately. Aoba wants to know if it has something to do with Koujaku's gang Benishigure. Mizuki implies their rivaling is okay; it is the game Rhyme that is messing things up. Basically it is a virtual reality team that is getting popular again. Aoba doesn't really care about it but Mizuki has strong feelings, mainly because a Ribstiez team disappeared one time because of it. 10 years ago a team disappeared and now it might be happening again. Aoba thinks another Ribstiez did it and there is nothing to worry about. Nearby a Rhyme game is about to start so Mizuki takes off. Aoba seems to struggle crushing a soda can and walks off near the Rhyme battle. He plans on walking on but he sees a vision in the lazers as the game starts. He watches the game start but something triggers... a sickness in him? Ren seems confused and Aoba pops some pills. Before he can walk off he is approached by two blond less fashion victim men. Virus and Trip. WEEE! They seem to know Aoba and are aware he doesn't like Rhyme. It seems to be their job or in their jurisdiction to be at this event. Aoba comments that they look like twins which they aren't....Aoba says he has an honest job now and won't be joining these two. Before anything can happen some crazy cop dude named Akushima arrives and is busting skulls and arresting everyone. The three boys depart and Aoba accidentally runs into someone when he reaches the main street. Aoba apologizes and the man takes off on his motorcycle without saying a word. Aoba returns home and is almost beat up by his grandmother for not locking the front door. He is a bit of a goof ball and she pretends to be a badass but they are a nice family happily eating. Mizuki is seen beating people up and some white hair dude is wearing a black weird mask. Aoba thinks to himself about all these past rumors when Ren announces the document from earlier is ready. They sit down and watch some retro game play itself briefly. Hmm what is that about? Mizuki is also seen losing a gang member which is upsetting. The next day Aoba is sent on another delivery which he sets off to. When they arrive at the address they are suddenly thrust into a Rhyme battlefield. Ren changes from a tiny puppy to a normal size looking human. Some giant bunny thing comes with a tiny bunny army and are happy Aoba is there. Aoba tries to leave the game but is unable to. Ren also notes that the damage thingy has been turned off which means when they get hurt in the game they get hurt in real life. Aoba tries dodging, saying he has never played this game in his life. But then he gets another headache/pain and POOF he is in serious mode and orders Ren to do a certain attack. Aoba turns into a bad ass who blasts all the little bunnies and seems to....destroy the field they are playing in with a weird power? THE END!

So.....yeah. Have no idea what I just watched. I should have just wrote guy with blue hair walks around and talks to some fashion victims, some he knows and others he doesn't. Talks about gangs and video games. Then plays said videos the end. Because basically that is all I understood. And by trying to educate myself on what is going on all I see are BIG spoilers and pictures of Aoba wearing no clothes and other people wearing no clothes with him. Or in him I should say. Tears are optional depending on the situation I suppose.

Every single gang name is made of special.

But summarize I must since I watched this episode. I am going to assume that all the hardcore man on man action won't be shown as our delicate eyes must be shielded from such things. No missing organs either. Although....when it comes to gay shows why is it so cut and dry with how things are? We either get a couple where someone is OBVIOUSLY on team sparkle and the other one will drill him into the bed with love and...well his drill. Or the other option is everyone seems to be about males who like other males without waving their bikinis in the gay pride parade but it goes the extreme route of rape and mayhem. Maybe that is why I wear my yaoi colored glasses all the time. I like boys who aren't wearing knotted pink tank tops to like other boys like it is natural. Not that there is anything wrong with bikinis and pink tank tops. I just feel as if being gay is a natural thing. Like being straight is a natural thing for me but I don't feel pressured to be all one way or another. Variety, like how it should be. It just seems mangas have a better...sampling of gay males while animes are either flowers/hearts or blood/violence. Woe is my soul.

Actually typing out the summary helped me understand sorta what happened in this episode but I am still confused on what Ribstiez is. Like the term is confusing to me. I thought it said on the internets it is a different kind of game. Like all these real life gangs compete in it. But then people were using it in different ways and I was like oh okay....HMMMMM! Maybe it is just a cultural barrier, something lost in translation. Maybe this is the game that existed before this new dome thing moved into town. Or maybe it exists because the doom came in town. People like the old school gang thing while others are doing this Rhyme thing. I don't know. But there were a lot of terms being thrown around. Like I keep saying gang but others used teams. I guess I should be glad there wasn't Line and Tags involved. Although the shows are very similar.....

In any event no one put a body part in Aoba this week, willing or otherwise. Not much explanation went on this week either. Like there is some giant dome that looks futuristic and awesome and directly next to it is a...well I don't want to see typical Japanese town since I don't live in Japan. But it looked a little rough around the edges, seen better days type of place. Reminded me of the new Total Rekal in terms of styling. The technology all the characters used seem up to date, futuristic though. Not the computer at Aoba's place of work though. So it is a bit of both words? The cool news programs yet Aoba has a job where he has to WALK somewhere rather far? And what is with all the real tattoos? I would have some futuristic one that would appear and disappear on command, gotta hide from the cops who are apparently a bit power hungry. Oh and I had no idea the DOG was talking. Thought it was a real dog but nope, it is a computer. Or at least I think it is. It seems to have a personality this Ren but it's still a computer yes? Are we talking Cain from Alien or Data? Or do they have to obey their masters? Either way I felt a bit dumb for being slow on the uptake. XD

His..hair hurts when it is touched?

We learned a bit about Aoba this episode. Which is good since he is the main character in this love orgy (to which everyone should assume Aoba is on the bottom...). We learn that Aoba is pretty popular in this town despite not being in a gang or playing this Rhyme game. It sounds like he played another game a long time ago and it wasn't totally on the legal side (see crazy cops) but now he is clean. But despite not taking a side and being friends with everyone no one seems too jealous or upset. These friends vary in what they look like and how bad their fashion sense is. No one interacted with any of the other potential boyfriends so maybe the peace is kept if they don't interact. Besides the fact that Aoba is a fashion victim himself we learn that his parents are problem dead as he lives with some Spirited Away reject (which did you notice was mentioned this episode?). He has an interesting hair style but that might be contributed to the fact that if it is touched it hurts? I am not sure if that is other people touching it or all touches. Separate (or maybe not) from this issue is the fact that Aoba has...issues. He gets these moments where his head hurts and he is forced to take pills to function. He also might be lacking in physical strength as hommie was unable to crush a soda can. Add in the fact that apparently his voice is....sexy or special to some people and Aoba is just a bag of loveliness.

Since there were a lot of characters in this episode there wasn't a lot of focus on them. More like a drive by boyfriending. Aoba just walking down the street (because this company has no car) waving to everyone he knows. Doesn't that happen to you? You walk down the road and run across each and everyone one of your friends? Thought so. To me it seems as if Koujaku has the most history with Aoba. Which means he is going to be friendzoned yes? That is typically how it goes. But Aoba has fond memories of Koujaku as the man saved him from bullies. Koujaku is the head of the gang he is in and cuts hair on the side. Of course. Aoba runs into Mizuki next who is a leader of his own gang...team. Whatever. He wants Aoba to be on his team too but no pressure bro. No pressure. I didn't see many pictures of Mizuki having naked fun of Aoba so I am thinking his is a side route. He seems...sorta normal. Passionate about his team but otherwise a nice guy. Next on the hot guy train are a pair called Virus and Trip. They claim they are not twins but they look a lot alike. I am sure there is a story behind that. They are the ones who want Aoba to come back to whatever he was doing before but hold no hard feelings that he wants to live a quiet life. I am not sure what they are doing as they weren't in the Rhyme game. More like the game was taking place in their gang's territory so they were watching things closely. Aoba ends his trip down potential partner lane by running into some long hair criminal. I am assuming he is a criminal as he was in a jail cell earlier. That could just be his house for all I know. I think this unnamed man was running the Rhyme game given how fast he took off. Aoba and him had a little bit of a glance, like okay bro. There is another character that Aoba didn't meet but since that character was busy looking creepy with his mask and staring at things we can wait to meet him later. Unless he is the bunny avatar.

So that is what we learned about the people in this episode. What did I learn about in terms of what the show is? After some thinking...maybe procrastination I have decided that this Ribstiez word is for an old school kind of game. Maybe they are gangs. I don't know. But they are doing something....not exactly endorsed by the public. I am guessing it is the old town's version of a game while this Rhyme thing is a new game, brought in by the dome. But why are the cops so against it? Maybe it is only supposed to take place in the dome? There seems to be harsh rules in this area, with no one being allowed to leave the island without permission. Sounds very odd to me. Rhyme doesn't look inherently dangerous. Just annoying, a large virtual reality kind of game that connects to a person and their personal Allmates. So these little personal robots can do a lot of things. It seems to live in this town you have to have some connection to technology but you can choose how much. And as long as your Aoba you aren't forced into a gang...I mean team. But everyone else is.

SO ADORABLE!

So a day in the life of Aoba is like this. Work in your company's store and get tortured by some brats. Accidentally download a weird email. Take a walk in town since your company doesn't own a vehicle and run into a bunch of men you know. Have a few medical issues. Talk about the Ribstiez and Rhyme groups. Run from the cops and run into a some strange looking man. Walk on home to see the oldest grandmother on the face of the planet. Like seriously still having nightmares about her. They seem like a nice pair which mean granny isn't long for this world. I wonder if Aoba changing his not so legal ways has something to do with taking care of his grandmother. Then Aoba hangs out with his talking robot dog Ren as they look at this magical email that was sent to his account by accident. DUDE it was so cute. I am sure it has to do with the Rhyme game but when I saw that old school game pop up on the screen...I had the feels. Like MOG old school Final Fantasy LOVE IT. Nothing much happened with this mysterious email. Almost like it will lead to something later and will be significantly important. For now it was nothing as was the boy with the crazy mask.

The next morning Aoba has another delivery that must be taken by foot which is find for the boy, his duffel bag, and talking Ren robot dog. Off they go, everything will be okay. Only it won't be. They are automatically locked into a Rhyme battle in which they cannot log out of and to make matters worse the safety has been taken off. See this Rhyme is a giant VR type game and the participants end up on the ground in the “real” world as their avatar floats around and fight. Whoever forced Aoba into this battle is either cheating or this permanent damage of your real body rule is optional. Either way Aoba is not happy and doesn't really know what to do. Ren on the other hand changes from a cute little dog to....well...possibly another special friend for Aoba. I am assuming these computers have artificial intelligent and the line between real and fake is blurred. But Ren is looking kinda fine and he is always around Aoba so woohoo for this pairing?

Err...Aoba is a badass now?

The episode ends with Aoba and human Ren being confronted with a giant rabbit and his rabbit minion who has rabbit minions. Exactly folks. I am not sure who was the real person and who was the robot. But the bunnies all started to attack and Aoba was a sitting duck because he had no idea how to fight back. Until he got one of his headaches. Then BAM it was like Aoba was a different person. Like he knew how to fight all along and he is a bad ass. Even Ren was confused over the orders Aoba was giving him. Hell even Aoba start to get all glowy and fight himself like he was a super power/hero. Like he power to change the program of the game itself. Err how special is this Aoba? I am guessing the program downloaded into his phone lead to this moment and he will be caught between the dome world and all these different gangs. A lot of messed up stuff is to come for sure. Behind the scenes obviously as Aoba seems to lose his clothes quite often. So for now I have one eye open because I don't need any organs out of Aoba while someone rapes his dead body. Just...you know..say no to organs out of the body sex.

New Anime Series! Glasslip episode 1

Well folks well. I had plans today to blog and post 3 anime posts today. THREE! I was going to bam bam bam them all out. I was going to start finishing them all up during the soccer/fotbal game today and post them all in a row. Then...well if you watched the game you know what happened. During half time I had to update the husband who just came home from work, then we had to watch the game, then we had to talk about the game all over facebook/texts, and then we had to watch all the commentators basically destroy..the events that happened. Obviously nothing was going to get done in that huge chunk of time. Since when am I so into sports? What is wrong with me?!

I think I forgot to post my 4th of July photos...

So yeah folks....now that the excitement has died down and the instant replays are on pause...it is time to finally finish at least one post and get it posted before I go to bed. I won't make any grand plans for tomorrow since amazing things might happen again. Yet I don't want to get too far behind this new anime season again. So lets get to it. Up now is the new anime series Glasslip. A series that looks wrong every time I spell it. Spoilers for chickens and meaningful glances.

Voices from the future have physical form. Duh.

Episode Summary: In a smallish looking town people gather around to celebrate a festival of some sort. There is a little bit of focus on a boy traveling by train to get to said town and then him walking around disinterested in the festivities but most of the action involves a friendship core of 4 (5) people. One friend Sachi is at home watching the festival from her window while her friends Yanagi, Hiro, Yuki, and Touko hang out and do different festival stuffs. The girls Yanagi and Touko do small games while the boys go to different booths to gather food. While watching the fireworks Touko gets a vision of a boy and hears his voice. She looks confused and tries to focus on the fireworks. At that time the boy on the train walks by. He looks at her all confused which makes her feel as someone is watching. Shaking that off the girls join the boys at the top of the hill near a temple where it is snacking and ramune time. Yuki seems very focused on Touko which makes Yanagi a bit pissed off. Yanagi starts talking about how they are high school seniors and this will be their last year meeting up for the festival. The other three find that rather negative thinking. Yanagi sees it as being realistic as they don't know the future. Touko wishes for her future self to solve any problems that may arise...and sees train boy walk by again. The next day the 4 plus Sachi are chillin at a cafe which Hiro's grandfather seems to run but different kids take turns helping out. Yanagi seems to make fun of Yuki as he waits on grandmas. They hang out a little while more with Hiro showing signs of liking Sachi. Later Touko goes home briefly to tell her mother what she wants for dinner and to help with the family business which is glass blowing. Sachi is at home reading and thinking about the gifts her friends got for her at the festival. When they were at the cafe earlier it caused problems between the APPARENT siblings Yanagi and Yuki. Touko then goes to their school to draw a picture of the school's...chickens. Train boy turns out to be transferring to Touko's school and she accidentally refers to him as David (the statue of David) when she first sees him. He (Kakeru) starts acting awfully friendly with Touko right off the bat which makes the girl nervous. He asks about the chickens and Touko explains they are free range that everyone takes turns make sure are alive. Kakeru thinks the chickens should be in cages. Touko is calm when she says most animals don't belong in cages but Kakeru starts going on and on. That cats might eat them or something. When Touko says the cats aren't an issue and the birds can fly away. Kakeru gets a really, REALLY odd look in his eyes and Touko freaks out, shooing Jonathan away and standing in Kakeru's way.

I will totally drive you and your chickens around tee hee.

Touko calls Hiro and Yuki to gather up the chickens as there are 5 friends and 5 chickens. Hiro's sister picks and drives them around. Sachi and her chicken do just fine. Yanagi is beyond pissed to come home and find a chicken in her room. She is even more pissed that it is a favor Yuki is doing for Touko. She starts to say really mean things about the situation and stomps away. Touko acts like a chicken with her head cut off dealing with her chicken. Mom decides to make a chicken meal for the occasion and talks about her first date with the dad. While watching the chicken Touko wonders if she is really doing what is best for them. The next morning all the chickens are back at the school and all the kids are at the cafe, this time Yanagi serving the food. The kids talk about what they should do on their break, by picking something Sachi can do. Yanagi comes over and pretends (maybe) to be mad about the chicken thing. They all want to know what Touko was thinking with taking them home and she starts talking about Kakeru when suddenly he is there behind him. She is like oh this is the new exchange student and Yuki and Sachi are all glare city who the hell are you insane. Hiro is like err should I be mad while Yanagi looks at Yuki, then sorta glares at Kakeru. Touko is confused so Kakeru decides to confuse her more by saying he saw what she saw on the firework night, a vision of the other person. THE END!

At least the nice, sweet girl wasn't....not nice sweet. I need some sense of normalcy guys.

So....yeah. That was a bit different than what I was expecting. I guess that was a good thing as anime can be sorta formulaic. And it still was at some parts. But I thought it was going to be slice of life, everyone sweet as pie, and the new kid was awkward. I didn't think there was actually going to be anything magical afoot or anyone was going to be anything but sweet as pie nice. Awkward and prone to human emotions yes but...hmm.

Take a picture, it will last longer.

This show has several artist elements that either are really pretty or they are trying to hard to be...special and unique if that makes sense. Like when the screen frames like it is now a picture all sketch like. Like randomly got to stop the action to make the moment seem special or important. Also how the characters were introduced were different. The whole stop screen thing again with the names underneath said character. It helps me as a blogger and a person who is bad with names to learn them better though. Especially in the land of Japan, where people rarely go by their given name as last names or nicknames are much more prevalent. So that is that.

Oh and Touko has a family that I guess is important.

A great deal of the episode dealt with festival fun. I do love a festival episode but most don't start off that way, most animes anyway. Usually we have a few episodes under our belt so we know the dynamics and what not. So when the drama starts to happen it makes sense. This episode was like nope, we are premiering a day before the 4th of July bring on the fireworks. It was a bit odd though watching the fireworks go off and people didn't stop to watch them. Like that is usually the main thing, the last event of the night. Instead all the booths were opened and people watched...then kept on going. Some people didn't even get to the area when the fireworks started. Odd.

Oh and there was this moment that affected Touko and I am guessing Kakeru.

Still there was typical festival fun. Food, prizes, shopping. Girls in cute clothes. Boys looking at the girls in cute clothes because they can't wear the cute clothes themselves. I hope it will be explained why Sachi didn't join her friends. She seems okay to go hiking in the woods and hanging out at the cafe. Maybe she can't handle huge crowds? Don't know. But yay festivals and having fun. Crisp looking fireworks and the beginnings of very complicated relationships that are probably not going to end nice and neat.

Don't worry folks, they aren't related by blood.

Where to start with these kids? At the festival it is clear that this newcomer Kakeru had an agenda. A man on a mission. Didn't care about what was going on around him, he was looking for something. And that something was Touko. Now in the summary for this show it said that Kakeru heard a voice from the future leading him to Touko. But Touko also heard a voice and had a vision so...you know. Still Kakeru looked a little off at the festival. Yanagi seemed to be acting like the older sister of the group, taking care of Touko. But if looks could kill Touko would be dead and Yanagi would claim her prize Yuki. Who according to the internet is only her step brother, not her brother or cousin like I thought and started to poke my eyes out. They probably should have mentioned that in the show so I wasn't gagging and what not. Hiro seems to like Sachi who is about as interesting as a rock. As the show goes on I am sure there will be more relationships and tears but for now that is what I see.

Give me back our friendship bracelets!

I am not sure if I should applaud Yanagi for her realistic view on life or side with the other 3 (maybe 4) with their optimistic view on their friendship. The thing is relationships are slightly different in Japan. People move and the distance can really effect you. Heck being in a different class can effect friendships. So chances are these kids might go to different colleges or start jobs somewhere else than their tiny town. Family commitments might happen right away with people who enjoy procreating the minute they graduate from high school. So Ms. Doom and Gloom Yanagi might be right. Especially if all these love orgies explode in their face. But the others want to believe things will be okay, even if they know deep down it is a lie. I think that Touko actually might believe it though. That her future self will be able to fix any problem and the rest of their lives they will celebrate this festival. Will Touko get her wish? 

Putting that all aside it is time to meet up with Sachi, the 5th member of this group. I already see a problem with two guys and three girls in the original pair. Good thing another boy is showing up. I am just going to assume that the kids get free treats at the cafe because Hiro's relative owns it and they take turns serving the food and what not. It's not really anyone's job but Hiro's. But the group of friends seem happy. They don't have to do everything together but they spend enough time together to be close. In between being jealous of each other. Some light teasing and some I mean it teasing. Especially on the side of Yanagi. This show is going to be a fan of flashbacks I see. I don't know how I feel about flashbacks within the same episode. Seems kinda lame because we just saw the material. But since the flashbacks add to what is currently going on, a different point of view...I might allow it. Since people asked my opinion.

First red flag folks!

After Touko runs back home to torture her family and do other random things she finds herself at school drawing chickens. I have never had a school pet before but I think chickens are a no for me. Just a no. They also seem kinda boring to draw. I would go to the beach if I could draw but that is just me. But Touko had to go to the school so she could run into train boy who magically has transferred to her school with 6 months of school left or something like that. :( What a bummer that is. Anyway the train boy name is Kakeru and apparently he looks like a naked statue. Does anyone else see it? Maybe Touko was blinded by the light and what not. I just don't know.

Where I come from we protect our chickens!

Anyway the conversation between Touko and Kakeru started off okay despite the fact that Kakeru is a bit...you know forward with how he talks and he has been sent there on a mission from a future voice. But it turned very creepy very, very early on in the conversation. Over the boring pet chickens. I do see both points of view. Animals are...animals. They do well in the wild and cages are rather sad. But animals in the wild don't live as long as domesticated animals. And animals don't really know what they are missing if they are raised indoors and what not. Maybe I am biased since my cat is scared to death of outside and seems to be quite happy with her current living conditions. I think zoos are a mixed bag. Not a fan of tiny cages but my zoo has pretty big areas for most of the animals. So yeah....Touko had points and Kakeru had points too, especially around the wild cat thing.

Clearly a chicken killer.

But clearly I am talking about how Kakeru got some crazy look in his eye when Touko thought she was making a good point. Touko was sorta trying to push it aside and Kakeru thought of a good way to prove her wrong. The chicken could fly away can he? So....yeah it looked like Kakeru was going to hurt the chicken. Kick it or something to prove his point. It was just a super creepy/awkward moment that you just feel. Even if Kakeru tried to make it a joke later it was done folks. First impression done, this is a creepy kid. It always starts with the animals! Then you move onto the people. Just...anyone who saw that moment would be creeped out yes?

Also chickens.

Touko was so upset she gathered up all 5 chickens and handed them out to her friends. I am sure as the show progresses a 6th chicken will show up to represent Kakeru. Or maybe he will be a friendly cat. Something anyway. These must be true friends because I would have been um no I am not chicken sitting. Everyone must have pretty cool parents too. The only person who had a problem with it was Yanagi. I mean I see her point of view. You agreed to the chickens, you watch over them. But she had to take it a step further with talking about how Yuki does whatever Touko wants. I mean if she said DIE would you do it? Again it was a creepy moment but Yanagi pulled it back by realizing that Touko is a good girl. Still no one likes chickens and Yanagi is jealous.

Did I miss something.....?

The next morning all the chickens were brought back to the school and everyone had a fun teasing Touko. Like oh you silly girl. Lets sit down now that we are chicken free and talk about the rest of our plans for summer break. Something that Sachi can do. But before we can agree on that...really girl? Chickens. I don't think Touko was going to tell them the whole truth about what happened. She seems like a kind of girl to protect others, even those who threaten beloved chickens. She was just going to be very vague about the new student Kakeru and POOF there he was. And right off the bat EVERYONE ELSE starts acting creepy. I know he whispered something about seeing the vision/hearing the voice to Touko but did anyone else hear it? I think not. No one really knows what happened with the chickens. Yet everyone minus Hiro was shooting Kakeru evil glares. Jealously? They don't want anyone else in the circle of friends? Touko is unable to make decisions on her own? They have to protect her from outsiders? Either way this episode was not how I thought things were going to go down. Everyone was going to be lalala and Kakeru was going to prance in and announce Touko was the one for him and everyone would accept him with open arms and not talk about their jealous feelings. Instead we get glares and chickens. Guess we will have to wait until episode 2 to see how things shape out. Til next time.
