Post three! Then off to the shower and getting the clothes laid out for tomorrow. Apparently it will be freezing with a chance of MOG TOO COLD! Seriously what is up with this weather? I live in Florida. DO NOT LIKE! So what is up now? Nagi no Asukara episode 15. Spoilers for Chisaki being the most important person ever. Hikari who?
Just something in my eyes....
Episode Summary: Chisaki was chillin at home trying to not think about the cool event taking place outside and how she was missing it because of her feelings. She hears that Tsumugu has returned and she goes outside to see him looking....off. He says that Hikari has returned and Chisaki is all ;__;. Back at case de baby Akari has told Hikari to go right to bed. Only her 4 year old and Miuna can't stop staring at him. He reveals that he is awake and the little boy runs off a bit scared. Miuna tries to hold her ground and asks how Hikari is. He keeps rubbing his eyes and saying they hurt. Akari says the sunlight is what is bothering Hikari but really it is tears folks. After Hikari gets some rest he wakes up to a terror that is a 4 year old. Hikari seems to be on the same mental level with the butthole poke while Akari is amused. At Tsumugu's place he asks if Chisaki is going to visit Hikari. She starts talking about how she has a test or something and goes to the bus stop. Only when the bus gets there she starts crying and all is sad. Hikari barely has time to get his bearings when one of his friends from school arrives and gives him the biggest hug ever. Of course Hikari doesn't recognize the former bully but that's okay. He is going to take Hikari around town and show him off. Sayu and Miuna tag along and Miuna can barely keep the smile off her face that Hikari is back. Hikari and friend eventually make it to the old fishing company where everyone is happy to see Hikari and that his return means the rest of the sea folk will be waking up soon and they can have their drinking buddies again. The men give Hikari the flag he was waving on the day of the festival as it washed up on shore. Hikari starts to get a little sad/upset but brushes it off as not feeling well. The friend takes him home and Hikari has a lot to think about. Tsumugu and his lab person are doing some work as the currents were different last when Hikari appeared. They need some scissors and since there are only one pair of scissors in the house Tsumugu goes to Chisaki's room. Of course she has come back early and started to change and Tsumugu sees her in a bra. He quickly shuts the door and apologizes but Chisaki wants to know how she looked, if she looked different from before. Because she hates change and doesn't want to see Hikari all changed like. Tsumugu says she didn't see Chisaki like that before but he can tell she grew into a more beautiful person. Tsumugu leaves and Chisaki starts crying.
You tell them Miuna!
The next day Hikari decides that he is going to take a walk because that is what people do when they are upset. Miuna quickly helps Akari with the chores so she can follow Hikari. Only she runs into Tsumugu on his boat. She yells at him and Chisaki for not visiting Hikari. Tsumugu says that Chisaki and Hikari have history and that they (Miuna and Tsumugu) shouldn't get involved. Miuna runs off all upset. It turns out that Hikari went for a swim in an attempt to find the village. The currents kept pushing him back and he was unable to find anything. He goes to try again when Tsumugu and his boat appear. Tsumugu is like you need to go see Chisaki and Hikari loses his tiny little mind, trying to manhandle the taller boy. Hikari starts crying, saying he is not okay with everything and that it is different. That no one knows how upset he is (about Manaka) and how hard it is to open his eyes and see this all. So he isn't going to see Chisaki, she should see him. Tsumugu is quiet while Miuna who was listening runs off. She yells at herself for thinking about wonderful this was that she and Hikari were the same age as he was going through so much. She goes home and finds another of the old flags from the ceremony and starts to work. As Hikari is walking off all upset he hears the going home song but it is different, that of the sea. He listens and follows the music and it leads him to Chisaki who was also listening and following the music. It is quiet for a few moments with Chisaki crying and apologizing for changing. Hikari is like what are you talking about, weren't you saying that just the other day? Chisaki realizes what Hikari is doing for her and she cries/punches him in the arm as he comments nothing has really changed. He goes home in better spirits to see Miuna waving the flag around, helping Hikari to find his way home, flowers and all. Chisaki arrives home and acts all guilty when she tells Tsumugu she saw Hikari. THE END!
POOR CHISAKI! WOE IS HER!
So...remember when I said Chisaki had all the reason in the world to be a sad panda? That she had just cause to have her woe is me moments? Well I take it all back. All of it. Begone my almost feelings of understanding. Clearly they were misplaced. CLEARLY!
It's all about me!!!!
What exactly am I ranting about right out the gate? Chisaki is a selfish, selfish person. Beyond selfish. Want to stab her into tiny pieces so then she will have a real reason to complain. Now before anyone gets on my case about how Chisaki has it rough or that I am not getting Chisaki's point...I do. I do get why she stayed away from Hikari. I just don't agree with it. And I think she is a selfish person. But but the tears, Chisaki being lonely? What about her feelings?!
This is all about Chisaki. Duh.
Nope. Do not care. The second she heard that Hikari was awake and on land she should have ran to him. Ran. Like crazy run and collapsed on him with a hug, even if nothing came from that hug. That is what she should have done. Has Chisaki gone through a lot in the past 5 years? Yes. So she should be the first person to understand Hikari. Maybe the only one to understand. She got left behind and he was forced forward, the exact opposite of what they wanted. Chisaki was all alone in her position and now Hikari is all alone in his. Chisaki had a chance to move with the world and is no longer out of place. Hikari has people but is now an outsider. It was really Chisaki's job to help Hikari. Akari and Chisaki. Instead we had a last minute friend that showed the most interest and Miuna. Real great Chisaki.
Hikari is back...MY LIFE IS CHANGING AGAIN!
No seriously I am mad. I mean not legit mad but like what the hell? Chisaki claims to love Hikari but only thinks of herself. Maybe she is a bad person. Only when she was going on and on about being a bad person she was irritating, almost like a pity party for one kinda way. Like I won't try to improve my life so I have something to complain about. I mean...asking Tsumugu if she had changed? What was up with that? Besides the sexual tension of course. But really Chisaki seems to be living in bizzaro world where the only thing that matters is her. Of course she changed. And yes I can see how people react badly to change. Believe me change is not something I react well too either. But of course Chisaki grew up a little. Physically because she seems still stuck in junior high with how the events turned out. I guess I could understand her not wanting to see Hikari because she was afraid that he would react poorly to her being different. That it would upset HIM to see her like that. But I think it was more about her, even if protecting Hikari was a tiny piece of it. She was scared on how he was going to react to her and how that would make her feel. Besides hello rocks for brains obviously Hikari is going to think something changed in you if you don't come and see him. You are his friend and he is going through a rough time and you don't come to see him? Yeah sounds like something changed in you, for the negative.
Tsumugu has stepped up to the plate to win the fair maiden's hand.
And Tsumugu....glad you helped Hikari when he first woke up but you should have stepped up too. I feel as if he and Hikari would have remained great friends had he stayed on lane while the former fighting kid might have stayed friends with Hikari or they could have drifted apart. But no Chisaki and Tsumugu were pulling a one two punch on not visiting their friend. I like when Miuna questioned this later (good job girl) that Tsumugu only answered to why Chisaki didn't see Hikari, not himself. I caught that you little bastard. Does this have something to do with the fact that Tsumugu now sees Chisaki as beautiful and he is jealous of Hikari? Like no no, I can't put myself in that situation? No I think not. Tsumugu doesn't strike me as that kinda guy. I think he was doing all this research to help Chisaki get back with Hikari even though there is this massive love pentagon going on that will prevent that. So Tsumugu not seeing Hikari was lame. I know that you need to give people space but come on. Do not like. Also Chisaki looks the same besides bigger boobies. But I guess Tsumugu has gotten a chance to know her over the years and has come to appreciate her and loves her. I doubt he will really say anything though.
SENSE THE SERIOUSNESS!
Let me put aside how selfish Chisaki and how off Tsumugu is to talk about Hikari. What the hell folks? I am surprised it took him that long to bust out the tears. I would have been crying on the sidewalk forever. Like I would still be there right now had this happened to me. At first it was odd though. Really odd. Everyone is acting odd today. Akari wasn't really...falling all over her brother like I thought she would have. More like oh get some rest, here is my baby, all is well. ODD! I really think no one was that worried about the 3 kids that fell into the ocean or that no one could reach the village. Hikari could have died. And now he is awake in a world that has changed. How about we stop hanging some laundry and help this poor kid out. XO I don't know, if I was told that I might not see my father or brother ever again and suddenly he appears in front of me I think there would be some crying and happy tears. She was acting like her brother came home from college, not waking up after 5 years that could have been way longer.
How can we be the same age?
While Akari was giving Hikari “space” Hikari was slowly realizing how...different everything was. It was hard for him to understand that everyone looked older. I think he will have the most problems with Sayu and Miuna considering he thought of them as kids and now he is the same age as them. I know in Japan ages are a very big deal and it is how you know what to call people and what kind of relationship you will have with them. So all the people Hikari did go to school with are older than him and he will be stuck in a classroom with people he doesn't know. So who will be his friends and how will he maintain the ones he has now? Add in the fact that Manaka and Kaname aren't here, Chisaki confessed to him, and his sister has a new family leaving him to feel like the second wheel I think Hikari deserves a cry.
At least someone cares...
He held it together for a bit though. Playing around with the little kid was cute. I can see how it would be odd given it was his sister and now poof she has a 4 year old but Hikari started bonding out of the gate. I think that is the kind of person Hikari is though. He allowed himself to be paraded around town, especially to the fishing company whom he started off having a bad relationship with. I like that those guys gave him the flag...even though it made him a little sad. Let him know that they cared about him unlike some people named Chisaki. It's the little things folks. Yes Hikari did eventually get overwhelmed but he was trying. Thrust into the future (well sorta) and having now lost his place in the world Hikari was trying to grin and bear it.
Do you see this Hikari? More tears please.
Something that I think Hikari should have asked and something he should have been upset about was the obvious....failure of the ceremony. I guess he is under the assumption that Kaname is okay since he himself is okay. He does not think Manaka is okay but he is keeping that information to himself. However...does he not see all the ice? Now I guess...I guess...maybe the ceremony could have worked. That 5 seconds after Hikari fell in the water and Akari got knocked up an awful winter did come. That it was inevitable going to come and nothing could stop that. But how long it lasted was effected and slowly everything is starting to melt and this is just the leftover pieces. That soon everything will be bright and sun shiny again. However it seems more likely that since Hikari has been gone things have gotten worse, over time getting colder and colder. So why wouldn't Hikari be more upset about how things turned out? He tried so hard and in the end failed, even if it wasn't his fault. I would think that Hikari would have been more upset about that and it would have been shown him mentioning that or asking Akari what was going on.
The currents shall not let you pass.
I am glad it was shown that Hikari went into the ocean to see what was up with things and to explain to the audience why Chisaki isn't there. It's not that the village has disappeared. It is that the currents are so strong no one can reach said village. Now you should be able to see the village from the water anyway but everything is so strong and out of whack no one is able to find it. Maybe to keep predators from eating out the eyeballs of people as they sleep. But I like that Hikari tried. Even if he was only trying to find Manaka whom we all know is not sleeping peacefully at the bottom of the ocean. Well she IS but Hikari doesn't know that.
How about you people care about ME?!
I was going to laugh if Tsumugu picked up Hikari in his net. Like ah yes there is my true love. I was jealous of Chisaki because I really want you for myself Hikari. But then I put my yaoi colored glasses away and wanted Hikari to punch Tsumugu for saying crap like Hikari should have visited Chisaki. Um no. There was some shirt grabbing (no actual punching :( ) but Hikari really just broke down in tears. Like really, don't you think I am going through a lot? Why can't anyone think about me and how lonely I must feel with all this change? Obviously I hate it and no one is giving me what I need because what is it that I really need? I think Tsumugu should have made some effort to comfort the boy instead of stand there and take it like his normal self. Poor Hikari, had to get everything off his chest in front of the person who shows the least emotion.
Find your way home Hikari!
Miuna did hear this cry for help and it hurt her little heart too. And she actually realized that she was being selfish. Or that she was focusing on how this was all good for her without thinking oh wow it sucks to be Hikari. She wanted to be with the boy and now in her mind she can since they are the same age. But she realized...that Hikari is upset and this isn't some lovely fairytale ending for him. A lot has changed and Hikari lost the sea and the land. But Miuna wasn't as bad as Chisaki. Obviously. She was spending time with Hikari (even though she lived with him and would be default anyway), worried about him, and made sure he was adjusting well. And when he wasn't she made sure to decorate a flag with stickers to help him find his way back home since he was feeling lost. Good job Miuna.
Tada! The friendship is mended!
Chisaki gets a bit of a happy ending in this episode herself due to no effort on her part. Hikari and her were both drawn to the going home song that has been changed since the sea village has been lost. You know, because Chisaki hasn't heard it over the past 5 years and this was the day to walk over and find Hikari. Hikari...didn't punch Chisaki in the face and yell at her because he was disappointed in the lack of homecoming. Instead he was just smiles and was happy that Chisaki herself hadn't changed much. Like big sigh of relief, Chisaki is my one constant in this changing world. That made Hikari feel better plus he knows that is what Chisaki would want to hear so now she feels better. Begone those feelings of misunderstanding, Chisaki and Hikari are okay, bonding and teasing each other. You got lucky Chisaki. Real lucky. I guess we will have to see how this all pans out, as Hikari is still in junior high and Chisaki is in college, how that will really effect their relationship. A happy first time meeting is one thing, life after...disaster is another. I think things will get better for Hikari when Kaname wakes up and worse for Chisaki. Although how much more upset can this girl get? Le sigh. Has fun going to school Hikari, I have a feeling the next episode you will be frustrated again....
Post 2 of the night. I needs to hurry though. Tomorrow I have to work all day alone. :( The co-worker needed the day off and since the main store rather set themselves on fire than send anyone to fill in I get to work all by myself. I get Friday off in exchange which means three day weekend at Disney World for the family but still. Bleh. Gotta go to bed in less than an hour since I am not a...morning person to say the least.
Well I hope so or this would be a seriously downer series.
So what is up now? The only anime left over from the 2013 season. Nagi no Asukara episode 14 ya'll. Spoilers for Chisaki...being the main character....ugh.
Thus begins the sadness of Chisaki.
Episode Summary: (err since I suck and can't remember the order of when things happened so...I will just type this how I typed the rest of my post, in chronologically order). Right after Kaname, Hikari, and Manaka went into the sea things got really bad. Everyone pulled back into shore and going into the sea was not an option. Chisaki sorta cowered in the corner all shocked and the adults were talking about what to do with her. Akari goes to take her in when Tsumugu's grandfather says he will take her as he is from the sea too. Everyone is shocked but onward Chisaki goes. Akari is pretty...upset to say the least on how things went down but Miuna is there to keep her together. There might be some slight wondering if Akari should go join them but clearly that is not an issue after Akari becomes pregnant. She goes out into the ocean every once and while to find the village but she cannot find it at all. Miuna is happy to hear about the baby and that her mom is making her a big sister. 5 years have passed since that day, with Tsumugu and Chisaki going to and graduating high school. Tsumugu now is into something...oceany in the main city while Chisaki is studying to a be nurse. There was a slight setback in their family when Chisaki found Gramps passed out outside. He is still in the hospital and she still visits him all the time. After one said visit her old school friend takes her home and jokes that another one of their friends has knocked up a girl and is getting married. He then asks if Chisaki is a lonely housewife to Tsumugu yet. She gets all embarrassed and avoids talking about. She especially avoids talking about it when Tsumugu brings home one of his colleagues who asks about Chisaki. She walks away but Tsumugu is heard saying she is in love with someone from the ocean. Akari still works at the same little store and her 4 year old is a menace who likes playing the butthole game thing on people. The only person he seems to listen to is big sister Miuna who is now in junior high. She and Sayu don't have boyfriends, Sayu saying she is going to be an independent woman and doesn't need a man. Miuna on the other hand always looks out towards the ocean and thinks of a certain someone.
Too many memories!
Despite there being ice on the water and it looking cold everyone is happy and it is not doom and gloom. Everyone is also under the impression that all the kids are simply sleeping under the water and nothing bad has happened. Still certain people are waiting for those kids to return. On a certain day Sayu and Miuna's teacher (same one) states that the weather phenomenon that was once so beautiful underwater will be seen on land given all the ice and that they are taking a trip to go see it. MEMORIES! Chisaki decides she will not take part in this walk down memory land as Tsumugu and his colleague go to study it as they think they will get answers this way. Said colleague talks about how all 12 of the sea villages around Japan have disappeared since that day and they need evidence on what happened. At the event Sayu alerts Miuna that someone is going to ask her out and to be prepared. Miuna of course turns him down because she is in love with Hikari. The event happens and it is all pretty and sparkly and what not. But Miuna and Tsumugu notices something more. They take off in different spots but end up together as they find...Hikari?! He is naked and 14 but alive. They slowly wake him up and he is like MANAKA!! Where is she?! Once he looks at Miuna and Tsumugu he realizes that time has passed and things are very different now. THE END!
Once again with confidence!
X___X So I watched this episode Monday and it has been plaguing my little heart since then. Like damn this isn't Queerats but it's pretty bad. Sad really. How do I go about blogging all this sad? Also do I go in order in which things happened in the episode or chronologically? Damn all this sadness, can't think straight.
For Chisaki it's like 5 dog years. CHANGE!
I think I will attempt to chronologically since I can probably remember things better that way. To recap the ceremony went not so well. Chisaki helped pull Akari out of the ocean but Kaname fell in or part of the bridge landed on him. Manaka took Akari's “place” as sacrifice and Hikari went after her. Neither surfaced. Now...I don't know what happened but Chisaki did not go back into the water. Akari did several times at different points in...time. But what did Akari see? Could she even make it to the village or is there some force protecting the village from the surface and you can only swim on the top now?
Does Tsumugu actually care?
I am guessing something did happen. More than the ice that was seen later. Given Tsumugu's lab person was talking about how people were doubting the 12 villages were still there. So had all the kids been on the surface when this happened they would have all be screwed. But nope. Only Chisaki. All alone Chisaki. While clearly Chisaki is not my favorite character nor hearing her woe is me tales is the highlight of my day...damn. X___X I mean I guess homegirl has a reason to complain now right? Only she isn't? All traumatized from her friends falling in the ocean and she can never return. She cared the least about what would happen to the surface people and now she is stuck here. HA! But yeah X__X. This kinda...is almost too sad to mock.
Behold the scarring.
I like that Akari immediately stepped up and said she would take the ring...err I mean take care of Chisaki. Akari was going through a lot too (hello wedding day from hell!) but Chisaki had no one else. Oh wait Tsumugu's Gramps is from the sea? Well obviously he should take her in since she helped build the float boat on his property. Chisaki had to go somewhere and Tsumugu was in a weird place with her (even if he didn't know it) so clearly this tension was needed. Yes go live with Tsumugu and be scarred for life. Now you can have a woe is me moment. Permanently you know since this is a never ending suck.
Experience the tragedy.
While Chisaki is young and all alone in the world...Akari is...odd. Her case is probably more tragic than Chisaki's. Her wedding was ruined. Completely. Little brother lost in the ocean, another girl lost taking her place, and Kaname is smashed trying to save her. How do you spell guilt? A K A R I? Not that it's her fault. She might think that though. It was mentioned that Akari went looking for people, into the ocean. But...yeah a no go right? A very rocky way to start off a marriage. Not too rocky as she got pregnant 5 seconds after the fact but still. So much sadness. Akari was leaving the ocean but not in this way.
So...did the ocean eat the village?
I guess what made this episode odd or sadder was how...everyone was okay with it. Like not super okay but dealing. Yes I know 5 years had passed but still. Chisaki wasn't rocking in the corner all alone and Akari wasn't an alcoholic wrecking her new family since she blames them. No no, everyone was just...going about their lives. Maybe because they are ALL insane and think things are okay. Well Tsumugu has a screw loose if he thinks he can study and figure this out. But everyone was operating under the impression that all was well. Um...how do they know that? The sea was awfully pissed off then and that was just on the surface. So why is everyone assuming that Manaka, Hikari, and Kaname are okay? Did they see the second opening song and were like oh everyone will be okay so why worry? Because yeah. No one can get to the ocean now to see what happened to the village. Like maybe it exploded with all that insanity. Or maybe everyone is okay in the houses but hello those three kids were left in the elements. Some shark could have eaten them. Or you know....Kaname could have gotten flatten by that pillar. Manaka could be a sexual play thing to the sea god. Worms could have eaten out their eyeballs. So many things and yet everyone is like oh I am sure they are okay. We will just live our lives up here okay and they will be down there okay. Hmmmmm.
Rations? What is this word? Are we already running out of food?
So putting aside that I don't think there was adequate caring about the situation....5 years. X___X Such a long time. Everyone Chisaki went to school with is grown up and knocking chicks up. Miuna and Sayu are now in junior high. Akari's sorrow baby is now 4 and poking people in their buttholes. Oh and the world is freezing. I was under the impression that this freezing thing would take many years. Like 50. Because no one looked too upset when the kids first explained it, because it wouldn't affect them. But now it is 5 years later and ice is all on the ocean with no real panic. Things are happening fast. X__X
No buddy. Just no. If you are testing the waters just no.
Well world wise. Relationship wise....I guess only Tsumugu and Chisaki could have anything. Which they don't. Chisaki's tiny heart does not need three people in it. Kaname confessed and poofed. Hikari will never confess and poofed. Stay away from Chisaki if you don't want to poof. But yeah....I am not sure how a Tsumugu and Chisaki pairing would go over even though it looks like that is how things are going (being the same age and all). Chisaki was all RARW with him one moment then instantly felt his “pain”. Kaname had a lot more time invested in her. If that makes sense. The gentle friend she wasn't expecting. But I guess he hasn't really...tried for Chisaki. It doesn't look like Tsumugu has either. He did make the comment that Chisaki's heart is in the ocean but I don't know if that was just a statement or jealously. Hard to tell with Tsumugu. I don't know, I don't want Chisaki and Tsumugu together just because their other options were eaten by Queerats you know? Besides they are more like “family”, especially with Gramps holding them together. Once Kaname comes back I am sure he will be like :( I know you love Tsumugu and Chisaki will see that too.
I don't need no man...because Kaname is gone so no man compares!
What is even more...interesting is the fact that Sayu and Miuna are viable love interests now. Creepy. And hopefully won't happen. Me thinks Sayu and Kaname are not going to happen no matter what. I bet Kaname is either the lonely bachelor and Chisaki ends up with Tsumugu or Tsumugu and Kaname switch places. But not Kaname and Sayu. No it seems that Miuna's feelings towards Hikari were more...substantial. Even now because Sayu is going to be a single lady and Miuna is always looking at the sea. But I guess this pairing would be the most awkward given their relations now. Calling the dad Gramps while loving his son. Hikari I think was the most in love out of all the kids. Like he really, really loved Manaka. Chisaki and Kaname had strong feelings too while Miuna, Sayu, and Manaka were...pretty fast with their loves. Still Manaka isn't looking too featured in the second opening song. Hikari might wait for her and Miuna can be even more miserable for all I know.
Wasn't it obvious? Ms. Fall in Love with an older boy. XO
So how are Sayu and Miuna doing? Well apparently Sayu wasn't too caught up in Kaname as Miuna was in Hikari. That or Sayu has given up hope and her single lady comment is because no one will compare to Kaname whom she thinks is never coming back. Miuna is a bit more sad panda about the situation without breaking into tears every 5 seconds. She seems to have a happy home life though. Everything is normal and peaceful. I actually don't think she spent that much time with Hikari to develop such lasting feelings for him. Like well for a few months when I was young I knew this older boy and now he is gone. It's like Titanic up in here. You know, 48 hours, 48 days. Same thing.
The sea god heard our prayers....sorta?
So it's been 5 years since the magical phenomenon happened under the sea. With the salt and water and light coming together to create sparkly swirls. But now that all is frozen this event will happen where everyone on land can see it. XO Cue Chisaki not wanting to see it and Tsumugu going to “study” the event with his lab person. Also school trip ya'll. I can see why Chisaki doesn't want to attend the event. They have to see it together....even though she doesn't know they already have. But yes. Onward to lights and prettiness and studying the ocean. Because the answer is going to come to us scientifically, not magically. We can make sense of this if we try. Or follow our hearts leading us to a place that just felt right. Magic, heartfelt lights in the sea.
Our episode ends with Miuna and Tsumugu following the same light...to Hikari. Oh the puns the Japanese people have. Naked, breathing, and still 14 Hikari is here. XO What is going oh? After waking up Hikari...the boy seems to want to jump back in the water to save Manaka. :( Yeah kid....that was 5 years ago. The look on his little devastated face was too sad. Very heartbreaking. Miuna and Tsumugu are older, Manaka and Kaname are still in the sea, and Hikari has no idea what to do. :( Someone needs a hug stat. Like right now. Poor Hikari. What a way to end an episode.
Hello there my lovely readers. It is mid January and it has already been busy, busy, and busy. It is like people emptied out their entire closets and brought them to our store. And people want me to go out and have a social life with them? Insanity.
But it is time to focus on anime posts again. Poor neglected anime posts. Up now is Hamatora episode 2. Spoilers for high school being full of crazy people.
Well...we don't have any other jobs right now so isn't a bit of money better than no money?
Episode Summary: Birthday is near the water, attempting to impress some ladies with a magic trick. Now the magic trick itself was going to be lame but at the same time a huge explosion hits a nearby building. Birthday is taken into custody and Koneko informs the rest of the Hamatora crew what has happened. No one seems to care and the topics turns to Hajime eating food. Of course Nice is poor and has no money for anything and Ratio might miss his jailed partner. The owner of the bar tries to weigh in on what is going on when two teenagers walk in. Since they are holding a tiny piggy bank Murasaki assumes they are going to be poor and the case is worthless. Still Nice hears out the boy and girl team. The boy Theo explains that their beloved school teacher Kitazawa has been missing for three days and the cops won't do anything. Murasaki doesn't want to do anything either but Nice is like this teacher must be amazing, he is worth saving. Nice enrolls in the school as a student and Murasaki as a teacher. Nice seems rather genius like while Murasaki doesn't want to be there. During lunch break there is a mad rush for the cafeteria. Theo explains that there are super sammiches that are famous at this school but they only make 10 a day. Nice decides to join in on the race and sees the different ends and outs of how the school is shaped/escape routes. When a group cheats by using the trash chutes Nice uses his minimum to get to the cafeteria faster. Sadly he does not have enough money to buy said sammich. Woe is him. He goes back to the classroom and he sees Theo on a weird looking website. Theo must have told/explained it and Nice tells Murasaki about it. Murasaki pretends to need computer help so he can flirt with the girl who made the computer app. Murasaki learns more about this program and Nice ends up confronting Theo about his involvement. This site is for people to vent and say things they can't in real life. This site had mentions of Theo being bullied. Theo confirms this and the reason he is worried about Kitazawa teacher because he was the only person who helped him. He made the bullies stop. Nice is like are you worried Kitazawa won't return and you will have to defend yourself from now on? Theo is a bit upset and the crew gets a call from Art.
We can only use the internet for porn, hateful things, and cat pictures. Nothing else.
Art and his team have found the body of Kitazawa. His brain has been taken out of his head, you know because brains could be somewhere else in the body. Art then explains that there has been a serial killer in this city that has been targeting minimum holders but they haven't solved the case. Add in the fact that there is a serial bomber and Art is not happy. Kitazawa's funeral is held. The girl in the duo is crying all over the casket while Theo stares on. Murasaki the case is closed but Nice wants to know more about Murasaki since he heard people talking about the teacher at the funeral. Murasaki is like waste of time but Nice is worried how Theo is going to deal with this all. After a bit of investigating. Nice call the girl and Theo up. Nice explains that Kitazawa was a minimum holder. That and add in that the pictures got from his informant about the bullying and the number of bullies posting on the website Nice has concluded that there was a 6th bully and it was Kitazawa. He reads what the boys did online and made the pictures with his ability to came across as a hero when really getting off on all this. He didn't do this out of the kindness of his heart. Theo is devastated but Nice tells everyone that he did this so Theo could grow as a person. Theo has some cry baby moments and doesn't know why his beloved teacher would do this. He eventually runs into the girl who was waiting on his sad self. Theo asks the girl to accompany him to the school. Back at the bat Birthday has reappeared from jail and is looking at the bully pictures. He notices that one of the pics is the place that blew up the other day. Upon further investigation all these places have been blown up. Only one place is left, the school. The girl and Theo have reached the school because Theo has something to tell Kitazawa. Suddenly there is a bomb in the middle of the sidewalk and a cackle heard. Up on the roof is one of the bullies and he placed the bombs in the place where the bullying took place. His life has been ruined because he followed the crowd and now he wants to blow up the areas to start over. Yay reality! Turns out that this bully is a minimum holder and he can make time go faster...bit by bit...with a stop watch. The girl and Theo panic but Murasaki and Nice appear, having figured this all out. Nice starts to run off with the bomb but he runs into someone. Murasaki ends up throwing the bomb in the air and no one is hurt. The bully panics and reveals the bomb strapped to his chest because that makes sense. He starts making the time go by faster and Nice tells Murasaki of the trash chute route and up he goes, stopping the bully from blowing himself up. Yay for solving the case. Inside Murasaki and Nice follow Theo and the girl who have gone to the memorial for Kitazawa. Nice hands Theo a baseball bat and goes to town destroying Kitazawa's picture. The kid will be alright. Back at police headquarters Art and his people learn that the two suspects arrested last episode weren't natural minimum holders. They gained the ability later in life. And this is only possible if you have a brain from a natural minimum holder. Oh no! The person Nice ran into with the bomb was taking a walk and has made it home. In his bag was...a brain. And in his huge library are shelves of other brains. I wonder what is going on SHOCKER! THE END!
Here's looking at you kid.
Long summary is super long. Kind got away from me there folks. Plus I forgot something about Nice. X__X So it could have been longer. So brief my words.
Ain't no one care about Birthday...unless it is their Birthday.
Birthday might be a bigger laughing stock than Nice is. And that's saying something. I don't think he minds though. Especially the way he goes about about teasing Nice. Like um you are the one doing lame tricks in an attempt to pick up chicks. I am sure he is a nice person though. Just a little special and slightly unfortunate. He gets hauled off to jail and everyone was like....meh. Well not you miss tail person. Is Koneko just cosplaying or something? Anyway buildings are being blown up. Birthday is in jail, and Koneko is trying to get her people to care but Hajime eating food is way more interesting. Duh.
:( This piggie needs a sammich too.
I am not sure where Hamatora is advertising their services. Maybe they have a 2 for 1 deal going on with Yato. But after some antics involving food and Nice some very young clients walked in. Now their piggy bank was starving. I am not sure if that was to make fun of the fact that Theo had no cash or if in Japan the obesity epidemic has not hit and even their pigs are slender. Murasaki seems to be dedicated to his role of this is not my fault or my problem. Give me the cash or get out. Nice is all about helping people even if they can't afford a cheeseburger. I am sure later in the series it will show that Nice needed some help in life so he knows how it is to be desperate. Pay it forward.
Our favorite teacher is missing. Sniff sniff...certainly something else is going on here.
The case this week involved a high school student being worried about his teacher. Now because of last week's episode I automatically assumed there was a love affair going on. Nope. Just a student worried about his teacher. Well that part was normal, not what was to follow. Remind me not to go missing in Japan. 3 days is a long time to be missing folks. Stupid police. Come on Nice, save the day. For some reason Murasaki decided to tag along too. As we saw last episode they don't have to work together all the time. So yeah....I think that Ratio would have been the more believable teacher anyway.
The running of the sammich.
Time to investigate this school since no one can ever tell the truth when it comes to legal matters. Not sure how old Nice is but he fits in just fine. Even got caught up in the moment with the epic run to the sammiches. I know limited supply creates demand but 10 sammiches? 10? It looked like half the kids in the school were running for that food. It is a manly sammich folks. Those Japanese people and their limited edition things. Does anyone else notice when minimum users have their powers on? Like no fair, the new kid is cheating!? Or oh no we are scared of the new kid?! The point of this little scene was to show that Nice is poor (again) and that this school has lots of nook and crannies. File that away.
Odd pick up line but I guess it works.
In between moments when Nice was trying to relive his childhood the case was attempting to be solved. For such a secret awesome app/website a lot of people were using it out in the open. Look at me weee! Also was this series sponsored by iphone? So Nice got in with the kids to learn about the app and Murasaki used his power of flirting to find out more. Oh you naughty man you. There is a lot of hate on the internet X__X. I can see how a place like Japan would have....websites like this. Having to keep things in because that is what society wants. I mean not that you should be sprouting off hatred any chance you get but I can see how letting out a bit of steam would be necessary.
Your advice is o so helpful....
Whatever this website is/was it helped Murasaki and nice figured out that Theo is being bullied. It lead to Nice confronting Theo. And even through the boys were right I am not sure how they knew this had anything to do with the case. Find my teacher please. But you always have to ask for enemies and what not. Turns out Kitazawa was helping Theo through this bullying issue/ Now I am sure Nice filed that information into his head for later but if I was Theo I would be pissed. What is up with this lecture?! Asking me if I sought anyone out for help. And when I answer that I did act like I am a weakling and that I need to learn to take care of problems on my own? Like hello you don't know me son. I could have just gotten bullied during this one time period. The rest of my life I handled my own problems and part of growing up is learning your own limitations and asking for help when you need it. But I wouldn't want that logic to get in the way of man pride. Thanks for the lecture. Wouldn't want to find my teacher whom helped me out through a difficult time. Nope.
We found your teacher Theo. Pay up.
After that most lovely peptalk it was time to find Teach. I am guessing Art and the police didn't look very hard for him as Kitazawa was dead all three of those days. And it doesn't look like it was that far from his apartment. Good job polica. Also I don't think this show is called Hamatora. I think it's called Heroes. XD People missing brains. People only attacking other people with powers. Is that white haired man named Sylar? I think it is. XD I am glad Art and his pals were honest about the dead minimum holders though. That might have caused some problems later. Accusations of lying and withholding information. Like hmmm what a curious case we have here. Dead teacher who was a minimum holder and a bomber? Woe is the police force?
Buck up Theo, it could be worse...I think...
Because Nice is mean....err super helpful and wanted Theo to get his money's worth he kept on investigating. I am sure it was just for this case and had nothing to do with Nice working with the police force in an attempt to find out why minimum holders are dropping like flies. Nice gathered up Theo and his friend to inform him that Kitazawa was an asshole. Apparently he went on a worse website than the one at school and took part in bad things. Turns out, according to Nice, that Kitazawa didn't save Theo out of the kindness of his heart. It was more so to torture the real bullies and helping Theo was a side product. I am not sure where Nice came up with this thinking. Maybe Kitazawa was using his powers for good. Like he went to this awful board to visualize these things and turn the evidence into the cops. Why are we automatically assuming that Kitazawa was a bad person? Perhaps it did go down the way Nice said it did but what did Kitazawa do that was so bad? Also what was the point of telling Theo? I know Nice doesn't want Theo to idolize Kitazawa and to grow up but this might have traumatized him. Like I can no longer trust anyone. Let me go cry many tears all alone in the world.
We will solve this case in a snap!
After smashing the hopes and dreams of the boy the rest of Hamatora sorta sat around. Job well done. Then Birthday, newly sprung from jail, added his two cents to the situation. See it was pretty smart of Nice to go to his informant and learn that Kitazawa turned in incriminating pictures of the thugs. Only apparently there was no common sense on the police force unless they thought the camera was set up to take pictures (the website wasn't even needed at that point). But Birthday took one glance at the pictures and was like wasn't that the place that blew up the other day? Anime magic folks. Now since the crew has that extra tidbit they could quickly figure out the case since all the bombing had to be connected.
I think you blew up your brain...
For a split second I thought that maybe Theo was a minimum holder too. That maybe he had uncontrollable powers and he kept reacting to memories at the places of his abuse and poof things blew up. Alas this was not to be. It was one of the bullies. And of course he is a minimum holder. Because everyone is. Said bully is a bit unstable. He is like you ruined my life. Like um...you beat up Theo and got caught. Please be explaining your logic. I am going to go out on a wild limb and say there is no logic since Mr. Speed Up Time is attempting to fix his past by blowing up all the bullying places. Yeah I didn't think that was going to work or make sense. His ability seems...rather special. Click the stop watch as fast as possible and speed up time a little. So really like Heroes and X-Men with some super limitations.
Murasaki's ability is to harden certain parts of his body. Clearly.
The defeat of el crazy wasn't very interesting one. Basically Murasaki threw a bomb in the air and Nice guided Murasaki through the quickest way up to the roof. Bully kid didn't have a chance once the team figured out what was up. No the real meat was helping Theo move on. You know, once Nice smashed his hopes and dreams he decided to glue the kid back together. I am totally sure that was his plan all along too. Like I had to show you the awful truth so you could grief and move on, become a better person who can stand strong on his own. You're welcome. Oh and here is a baseball bat in case you still have some aggression issues. Surely no one will ask what the hell happened to the memorial.
Forget the brains...what is up with the hair?!
So while Nice congratulates himself on another job well down and Murasaki counts the mere pennies they earned Art and his people were learning. Me thinks that Art is a minimum holder too given his conversation with Nice earlier. Still it odd that these police people are the ones learning about the science behind minimum holders and not...oh I guess other people, like doctors. Unless the doctors told the cops since so many minimum holders are dying. But yes folks. The reason why there seems to be so many minimum holders is because people can become them in artificial ways. All you need is a brain from a minimum holder TADA! Now we are losing a minimum holder during the initial brain obtaining but who knows how many artificial ones can be spawned from that one brain. If it's one for one that will equal out and clearly there are too many minimum holders for that to be the case. I think it is many from one brain....and I am going to assume because of that most minimum holders are criminals and all the cases that Hamatora will be connected to this one fact. To Sylar, keeper of the brains. Or maybe I should call him the Governor..since...you know...he has large glass case jars full of human body parts. Yay creepiness. Black market on super powers. I am sure he won't be discovered until way later on in the series. See ya later Governorator.
What a boring looking gym....
I think that's about it. Oh except for the part I didn't mention in the summary. But it did happen in this episode and it looks like it will be mentioned in the next episode. It looks like some minimum holders were....recruited in some way. Given that this is only episode 2 we don't know much about how...people even know how to identify a minimum holder. It looks like Nice and some of the others were sent to a school because they had powers? But clearly nothing is done about that as Nice hasn't been forced to do anything else and the bully kid was going to regular school. Maybe that program just seems if one has the potential? Since these powers come up in very random ways it would be hard to figure out. Unless there is a blood test....Focus Christina, this was supposed to be a brief paragraph. So there was a school for minimum holders and some of the people in this organization have been there and don't have very fond memories of it. What is the purpose of said school? How are minimum users tracked/found out? Will Sylar run out of glass jars? I guess we will find out next time on Dragon Ball Z!
We interrupt the anime posts that were supposed to be posted tonight for this breaking news.
